Alright! Riverdale season 2 rewatch is DONE!

Here are some of my thoughts:

This whole season is sooooo teen campy horror and I’m obsessed. I prefer this season over S1 for sure.

LOOK. I love FP, but he DID clean up the Blossom’s crime scene, he WAS involved. Whether he was blackmailed or not, he did it. So Betty blackmailing Cheryl by threatening to release the video of Jason’s murder is… very fucked up.

Speaking of Betty… she lowkey annoys me several times throughout this season. She’s such a bad friend 😂

I may be in the minority, but I LOVE all the Serpent drama stuff

Jughead is my extra-brooding broody emo boy this season. Complete with a dramatic ass Bughead breakup lol.

The scene where Fred imagines Archie’s graduation day and says “I didn’t think I’d live to see this day” actually made me cry because Luke Perry passed away before S4 so Fred really didn’t get to see the day…

CHONI CHONI CHONI. Their first meeting, the “you’re sensational” scene at Pop’s, Toni leading the charge to save her, Cheryl (and Jughead) saving Toni from the Ghoulies. Choni’s FIRST KISS. Ughhhh I love my babies so much. 🥰

VARCHIE. Her being right by his side after Fred was shot, Archie beating the shit out of Nick for hurting her. Their “I LOVE YOU’S”, which was hard for Veronica and caused some tension, but they worked through and came out stronger for it! Dealing with Hiram’s shit lol.

Cheryl Blossom deserved a stint on CW’s Arrow!

Having the Serpent/Ghoulie war off screen was not it… like… that was such a huge point and we saw none of it

Hiram Lodge was a GREAT villain, but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, he was just sooo overused.

Veronica girlbossing & getting ownership of Pop’s because she knows how much it means to people. My girl :’)

FP retiring, making Jughead king, and then Jughead’s first act being inducting Cheryl into the Serpents? Beautiful symmetry that mirrors his own start with the Serpents at the end of S1.

Lots of actors in Twin Peaks have some sort of connection to each other, to others actors, or had worked with Lynch before Twin Peaks.

Here are some examples:

If you've paid attention to the credits in the opening you'll see the name Warren Frost. He played Will Hayward, Donna's father, and was Mark Frost's, one of the creators of Twin Peaks, father.

There's also Stephen Gyllenhaal who directed episode 27 who is Jake and Maggie's Gyllenhaal father.

There's also some Twin Peaks actors whose children are now famous. Such as Peggy Lipton, who played Norma Jennings, her daughter is actress Rashida Jones, her father is legendary music producer Quincy Jones. Mary Jo Deschanel, who played Eileen Hayward, is the wife of Caleb Deschanel, who directed three Twin Peaks episodes. Their daughters are Zooey and Emily Deschanel. There's also Russ Tamblyn, who played Dr. Jacoby, he' the father of Amber Tamblyn.

This is a sideblog, and I follow back from my main @grimmusings. Please direct IMs there, since it’s easier for me to keep all my messages on one blog. All details vary based on verse, but in general, I write Betty exclusively after her graduation from Riverdale High School. After that, I will most likely diverge from canon, since nothing gets old quicker for me in a thread than rehashing canon events as they happened.

It felt almost like Before. Like the time Archie got muscles and got girls interested. When it was just him and Betty, friends. Friends who, ironically, only understood how compatible they were when the boy who was supposed to be the link between them disappeared. It felt like history was repeating itself. Archie was missing, Veronica was busy, and the city was paralyzed by another murder. In moments like this, Betty and Jughead seemed to attract each other, like two cogs that meshed to make things work together.

001. i'm generally comfortable with most subject matter covered in fallout canon (within reason - there are some things handled by fallout that i personally think were handled very poorly, and i am certainly highly critical of the media, which does include grievances with new vegas, and there will sometimes be criticism of it on this blog), but i won't write incest, rape / csa, etc, and will block those who do / who fetishize anything of the sort.

no racism, antisemitism, zionism, (and if you think those latter two are the same thing, dni) etc will be tolerated. terfs dni. the usual. i won't interact with muses from harry potter, peaky blinders, attack on titan, or detroit: become human / other david cage games. i may not follow multis back if they have content on them that i worry my mutuals might not be comfortable with as well, and tend to be quite wary given past experiences. i will also sometimes block or softblock if i see interactions with people or characters i'm not entirely comfortable with for whatever reason. indie is a little weird and, as previously mentioned, i've had some strange experiences. i encourage controlling your own space in the indie world. for that reason, i'll never take a block personally. also on that note, if we're mutuals and you see me interacting with someone who has, for lack of a better phrase, done some harmful shit, feel free to send me a dm and let me know.

while i'm not personally comfortable disclosing my ethnicity online - it is something that i've been taught to hide when possible - except to people i know and trust and talk to, i will disclose that i do look to new vegas as something to process and explore certain aspects of my identity and family history. i do have intergenerational trauma and that is another reason i may use the block button quite liberally/be either slow to follow back or not follow back at all in some cases as i have seen a lot of interpretations of canon (as well as numerous aspects of canon itself) that i don't feel okay with at all. i expect that people do their research when writing cultures and situations they're not familiar with, and try to meet that expectation myself.

002. minors dni. i'm an adult, and i only want to write with adults.

003. i'm fine with shipping but i like to build rapport between characters first and figure out where they stand. rivalry, friendship, etc are also plots i value - my focus won't entirely be on shipping.

004. best way to start interacting if we're mutuals is just to shoot me a meme or a dm - i guarantee that if i follow you, i'd like to write.

Prompt: “Would you stop eating all the popcorn! It’s supposed to go on the tree!” “But I’m hungry,

Pairing: Sweet Pea x Reader

“Y/n, what do you think of this one?” Fangs asked holding up his string.

Fangs had taken the edible spray paint and sprayed his popcorn red and green in a pattern.

“It looks great, Fangs,” Y/n beamed.

“Can I add it to the three now?” Fangs asked.

“Is it all dried?” Y/n asked.

“Yep!” Fangs exclaimed.

“Then go for it,” Y/n said.

Fangs almost tripped over himself in excitement to add his popcorn to the tree. Y/n shook her head as she looked over to her boyfriend. Sweet Pea had abandoned his string of popcorn. Instead, Y/n found him shoving the popcorn into his mouth.

“Sweet Pea!” Y/n exclaimed.

“What?” He asked around a mouthful of food.

“Would you stop eating all the popcorn! It’s supposed to go on the tree!” Y/n growled.

Sweet Pea shrugged as he shoved more popcorn into his mouth. Y/n narrowed her eyes at him.

“But I’m hungry,” Sweet Pea whined.

“Jug and Betty will be back any minute with food from Pops,” Y/n said.

“I can’t wait that long,” Sweet Pea whined.

“You’re the absolute worst,” Y/n sighed.

“No, I’m not,” Sweet Pea argued.

“We’re going to run out of popcorn because of you,” Y/n scoffed.

Sweet Pea’s shoulders fell.

“You’re always blaming me,” He growled.

“Dude, you’re the only one eating it here,” Fangs pointed out.

“Shut up Fangs,” Sweet Pea hissed throwing a handful of popcorn at his friend.

“No!” Y/n shouted.

“You little shit!” Fangs yelled back as he picked up a whole bowl and dumped it on Sweet Pea’s head.

“Guys! Stop!” Y/n shouted.

It was too late. The boys broke out into a full blown out popcorn fight. Y/n covered her face as the popcorn went flying. Having enough, Y/n started throwing things at the boys trying to get them to stop. That only made Sweet Pea and Fangs to turn their attention from each other and over to her.

“Wait, no!” Y/n growled.

Sweet Pea and Fangs laughed.

“Guys,” Y/n groaned as a bowl of popcorn was tipped over her head.

“Uh, what’s going on here?” Jughead asked.

The three of them turned to see Jughead and Betty standing in the doorway.

“Sweet Pea is the reason why we can’t have nice things!” Y/n shouted.

“Fangs started it,” Sweet Pea shot back.

“What? No!” Fangs growled.

“Enough children,” Betty said with a sigh.

“Sweet Pea. Fangs. Apologize to Y/n for ruining her project. And then two of you can clean all of this up,” Jughead said.

“But Jug!” Fangs and Sweet Pea exclaimed.

“Better get busy or your food will get cold,” Jughead said.

“Come on Y/n, you have popcorn all in your hair,” Betty said holding her hand out to her friend.

Y/n took Betty’s hand and the trio headed into the kitchen. Y/n sat and Betty started picking out the popcorn. Jughead started right in on his burger. A solid thirty minutes went by when Fangs and Sweet Pea finally came to join the others

“Sorry Y/n,” Fangs said.

“Yeah, sorry,” Sweet Pea said.

“Kiss me and you’ll be forgiven,” Y/n smiled.

Sweet Pea grinned as he bent down to kiss her.

“All is forgiven,” Y/n said.

“I can kiss you too and get your forgiveness,” Fangs said pushing Sweet Pea out of the way to plaster wet kisses all over her face.

“Ew, gross, stop,” Y/n said pushing him away.

Fangs danced away laughing as Sweet Pea glared at his friend.

The friends all sat around the table with their lunch. Y/n leaned against Sweet Pea. He took a huge bite out of his burger and sighed.

“See was that popcorn worth it?” Betty asked.

Sweet Pea rolled his eyes and Y/n laughed. If Sweet Pea had the chance he’d do it all over again.
