Do you like storage solutions for your minivan camper conversion? I wanted to moved my Jackery 1000 to this area next to the kitchen cabinet so I thought up this mini platform/shelf. But to get it to work, I had to take off one of the drawers in my three drawer plastic storage unit. I previous painted these drawers green and I will paint the added shelf to match. And because my van’s Jack and tire iron are located in the panel on the left in this area, I will be adding hinges to the cabinet side of this new shelf and removing the mega you can see here on the left. This will allow me to raise up this shelf when I need to access my Jack. Do you sometimes need a place to park overnight while traveling? My route gave me the option to stay in Tennessee or Arkansas. I decided to Google “which state allows overnight parking at rest areas” and found out that TN isn’t too keen on that at all. Maximum of a 2 hour stay there. Arkansas was a different story. I found this cool rest area and a spot under a shade tree. Perfect spot to sleep while on the road. Who likes a good palm tree silhouette? 🌴 I certainly do! I snapped this shot at Reid Park in Tucson, Arizona. I loved seeing all the palm trees!📸 My four month & 4K mile road-trip to Arizona is now complete. 🌵 It was such a great time and I met so many amazing people along the way. 🤗 I can’t wait to catch up on editing videos and sharing photographs with you all! It was also so great seeing my Arizona family! 🤟❤️🤗 I wish I had time to see everyone! Maybe during the next time! 🤞 I was hired on a movie filming in Kentucky so I had to make the trip back! 🎥 I just got into Kentucky a few hours ago! ❤️ The drive was smooth and I averaged about 27.5 mpg which helped a ton! Are you interested in visiting the National Parks? Here is a look back at some of my National Park trips over the last year in celebration of #nationalparkweek 1 - New River Gorge, West Virginia 2 - Gateway Arch, Missouri 3 - New River Gorge, West Virginia 4 - Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee I traveled to these National Parks in my self-designed and self-built minivan camper conversion which is a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan named Carol. I have previous carpentry and design experience and with the help of some YouTube videos, I was inspired to build my van into a camper van! One thing I’ve learned is that a van build can be as expensive or as cheap as you want it to be. The biggest challenge I first faced was having the vehicle to convert. Of course I had my eye on a high roof cargo van, however even the used ones were hard to find and had high price tags. I decided my best course of action would be to start with where I was and with what I had. So there I was, living in Kentucky and I happened to own a minivan. So that’s what I started with and honestly I love the small footprint of the minivan. I love the fact that I can travel to anywhere I can drive to and that my home on wheels is always with me for when I need to catch some shut eye. Because of my minivan, I have been able to start traveling more, meeting new people, and seeing the National Parks!
