Hiiii! I had some thoughts that I wanted to rant about and to know your opinion on them ^^

Yoonmin is the first couple I've ever shipped and when I first became an army and heard about this ship it caught me sooo of guard? I had only heard about taekook (note: I'm not a taekooker) and at first yoonmin made no sense to me, like bubbly jimin... quiet yoongi... (it was all the first couple of months when i still didn't know well their personalities and I wasn't aware about Bi King Yoongi) but then I started seeing their little things™ and I understood why people ship them.

I'm saying all this because I've just seen a video about the history of "larry" ship and everything around it sounds so crazy (and not credible at all) to me. Do you think yoonmin are aware that people ship them together? And if so, do you think it would make them uncomfortable?

Apparently, both parties of the Larry ship were asked in multiple interviews if they were together and were harassed by fans to uncover the "truth", which they said it made them uncomfortable and that that narrative was harmful (since there are partners and a son involved).

I think yoonmin's case is pretty different since BTS has never been publicly asked about ships (to my knowledge) and I don't think yoonmin would be offended if they knew we ship them, since it's contained within the fandom and there is no harassment/invasion of privacy happening (just us having fun being delulu and thinking about them <3).

Also, the video talks about the "Larry evidence" and honestly if those fans were given an ounce of yoonmin content they would go into cardiac arrest. Like... we don't have to speculate about couple tattoos, jimin literally has yoongi's lyrics on his chest. Among other things ☺️

PS I wanted to add that if anyone that reads this is a fan of that ship I'm sorry don't let my opinion ruin your fun, you can still enjoy your ship even if other ppl question it (always respecting the artists boundaries)

First of all, I have to be honest: I know almost nothing about Larry or about 1D in general. I have heard that they seem uncomfortable with being shipped, but…that’s all I know. So I can’t comment too much on that aspect of your ask.

In terms of yoonmin…

Shipping is absolutely a part of K-pop…and was a part of K-pop years before BTS debuted. So, I think it’s safe to assume they knew this from the beginning, and they certainly know it now (in my opinion!) Remember…Jimin’s moon tattoos were based on fan art. They are aware of what goes on within the fandom.

As for your next question: does it make them uncomfortable?

I think invasion of privacy, criticism of other pairs/members, and negativity in general make them uncomfortable. Unfortunately, those are qualities that can be found scattered here and there throughout the fandom and aren’t limited to shipping circles. There are rude/negative non-shippers and rude/negative solos, etc, etc.

Does it make them uncomfortable when people happily ship them, point out their cute and caring moments, create art about their dynamic, form friendships with other fans who see things similarly? No, I don’t think so. Why would it?!
