📢 SEPTEMBER THEME: UN-MINIFIGURED
For this month, I want to see official deminifigured sets.
The idea is simple, choose an official Lego set that includes minifigs, remove the minifigs and photograph this set while mentioning the number of the set you are photographing in the bio of your photo.
There are a multitude of possible choices, modulars, buildings, vehicles....the most important thing is to be creative to make this set lively enough.
Today I'm using a set that in my opinion is one of the most photogenic in the Lego range. The A Frame Cabin (21338). It remains very easy to photograph due to its composition. As the challenge is to photograph it without minifigs, to make it come alive I had the idea of giving the impression that they are there but that we don't see them. To do this I used a technique to make smoke come out of the chimney and I put some lighting inside. Thus by accompanying it with a slightly dark color palette, I give the impression that we are in front of a cold and damp autumn morning and that the minifigs are sipping coffee in front of the fireplace.
Use your creativity to make the set stand out in the absence of the minifigs that normally accompany it.
🚨RULES🚨
* Post your photo to our Discord server. You can also participate on our Threads publication.
* Mention the set number
* New or old entry accepted
* Multiple entries allowed
The activity will end on September 28 at 23:59 CET

LEGO Lunar New Year display sets 2023, provided by The LEGO Group through @brickcentral.
The snow at the end of last year was perfectly timed to give a pretty backdrop for the display. Lunar New Year has always been a huge deal in my family, where we would have 30+ family members all piled into my grandmother’s house and consume enormous amounts of food.

Today’s feature fits right into our new #minifigless hashtag. Even robots like to go out and play! I love the little wobbly robot that looks like its steering is veering off-course.
I noticed this cute little guy hidden in the general #brickcentral tag, so make sure to look through your photos for any submissions that will fit in our new tags. We don’t just feature new photos, hint-hint 😉.

❤️Feature: @annstoypix

A mother’s love
I have not much to say to this picture, as it speaks for itself. I picked this photo because it is a very minimalistic photo, that conveys so much emotion and you can’t help but smile and feel the love in the picture.
Also, from a photographic standpoint it is a great photo. The two main subjects are nicely framed by the out of focus surroundings and the limited pose ability of the figures is used perfectly. The meeting eyelines of the figures, the touching heads, and the warm lighting are all used perfectly for the emotional message of the picture.
A lovely photo, @annstoypix

❤️Feature: @macro_brick_

Hi everyone! I’m Photomark6 and I have been given the honour of being the guest features mod for the month of August!
This first picture is from @Marco_brick_. I was drawn to this image the first time I saw it. I really enjoy a sense of ‘scale’ in a Lego photo and this image certainly has that! Technically, I love the composition. Taking large-scale Lego photos can be quite challenging, but this one is framed perfectly. The vertical orientation and shallow depth of field (making the ship sharp while blurring out the surroundings) is a lovely touch and really pulls you into the scene. The presence of other details (like the island and rock formation) adds that extra detail that complements but doesn’t complicate the scene. The overall lighting and reflections from the water complete the look perfectly! As I look at the image, I can imagine the waves lapping against the rocks as I am left to wonder where this ship is going? Off to find some treasure, or back from a successful raid?
I hope you like this image as much as I do! Please keep using the #brickcentral hashtag to have a chance to get your photos featured!

Today’s feature comes from our new #minifigless tag. Looks like some mysterious items have washed ashore, whatever happened to the people they belong to? This minimalist still-life tells an interesting mystery, and I like the appropriate setting of watery pebbles.

Nature Documentary
One of my favorite challenges is to stage Lego sets in the real world so that they look like they belong there.
This picture of Strefa is a perfect example of this. Taking the model of a tropical/jungle bird and putting it into a fitting backdrop. The scenery is very well chosen, with the environment and the plants fitting the theme of the model. The scale of the model and environment is just right and the colours of the environment and the bird model match so well that the bird is barely visible at first glance - just like the real camouflage is supposed to be. As a result, the picture looks like it could have come straight out of a nature documentary about birds in the jungle. I can almost hear the voice of Sir David Attenborough narrating…
Well done @strefa_klockow_poznan

Formula 1
This photo caught my eye because I have photographed Formula 1 cars from exactly this perspective myself some years ago and it brought back some fond memories.
For his photo, Juan used the tips from @m1brickcars about shooting Lego cars with great effect (check out the @brickcentral blog for the tips). The build track matches the scale of the car, and the motion blur creates the for this subject appropriate illusion of speed. It’s a simple photo, but I like how effective the special effects are used to achieve the intended results.
Very well done @thekeywolf09

❤️Feature: @pirates016
Caribbean Sunset

Less is sometimes more. You don't always need large models to create an impressive scene, as shown in this photo by @pirates016. I like the minimalist style of this photo, yet it contains so much detail and technique.
The door frame serves as a frame and guide for the viewer's eye. Together with the chain, it guides the viewer to the falcon as the main subject. But in the second step the gaze of the falcon leads the viewer to the blurred outlines of a pirate ship in the distant background.
The general lighting, especially of the background is very reminiscent of the old pirate theme catalogue photos and matches the lighting on the foreground matches very well. What gives the photo so much depth, is the use excellent use of force perspective. With the use of (what I assume is) a micro build pirate ship in the background, the photo has much more depth that the setup probably has in reality.
Keep up the nice work @pirates016

Today’s feature comes from our #minifigless tag. There’s some well-executed composition here, with the frame-within-the-frame from the rain shelter. I like the clean, modern train station with the abandoned items left behind by forgetful travelers. They must’ve really been in a hurry to leave their things behind!
~@glowingbrickette
Eki (駅)
The Japanese word for train station is "eki" (eh-key). Vacation to me means travel, and in Japan, travel is very accessible because of the well maintained public transportation system. While living in Japan, getting on a train to go somewhere was always exciting. It gave me the feeling of teleporting somewhere, new or familiar.
Here you can see a few belongings to different people who might be waiting for a train. Who might they be? Where could they be going?
One fun thing about ekis is that they each have a jingle that plays when a train is about to arrive. During my stay in Japan, I lived in a rural town called Gobō for four months during the summer. If you listen to the video, you can hear the Gobō Eki jingle. It is very nostalgic for me.
@y.badiner inspired me to do this shot with no minifigs with his latest photo. I also love his use of minimalistic backdrops so I chose a plain blue to represent the bright summer sky.

❤️FEATURE: @bricktoygrapher
Hey everyone,
I got a feature for you today.
Spring is the fullest all over, and this is exactly what is happening in the photo I want to share with you today.

I like beautiful, messy at first sight but well controlled composition. Sharp and out of focus mix of leaves and branches give a great 3d effect, and make the whole photo feel alive. I like this light feeling, kind of peaceful and joyful. Just watching the bird, sitting in the trees and when you recreate that feeling to real life… Well, I find it really relaxing.
And look at this really nice lighting, on the leafs part under our blue hero, great contour and texture.
This photo was found in brickcentral minifigless department, so remember to use our hashtags to get featured.
Well done, congrats @bricktoygrapher
See you soon all

❤ Feature: @sillylittlebricks
Hello community. The day before yesterday I featured a photo from our discord photo-feed that highlighted a Lego construction as the main subject. Today I want to bring you this excellent photograph by @sillylittlebricks that doesn't feature any minifigures, but is rich in concept.
Here we have a minimalist scene in which only a camera appears on a table and, on the other side of that table, a cup of coffee. Both seem to be balanced by a chair in the center. In the background, we see practically an empty wall, with just two elements that align with the main objects, but do not steal attention from them in the scene. The warm colors and brown tones work very well with the highlighted coffee. Likewise, the golden light that enters through the window and forms contours on the background wall and objects. The warm light and horizontal incidence remind us of the golden hour, which is very much in line with the photography’s theme (for obvious reasons).
@sillylittlebricks managed to create an excellent composition of balance between two subjects, with a minimalist style that takes us to a true immersion in the scene. This shows the power of saying a lot with few elements. It also shows how it is possible to go beyond the obvious and create excellent images, even without any minifigures in the frame.
Thank you @sillylittlebricks for sharing with us this beautiful photo minifigless.
I hope these photos I have brought to you are sources of inspiration to explore new styles of photography with Lego constructions. Check out our "minifigless" and "classic face" tags in our Discord photo-feed for more sources of inspiration.

❤️Feature: @elbrick0

Welcome to Ophelia Hall
This little MOC straight out of the series “Wednesday” from Marko is a great example on how contrasts can make a photo. Unsurprisingly due to the inspiration for the MOC, the whole scene is dominated by dark colours with the brown woodwork and black furniture. But then you have the white contrast, especially from the carpet with its pattern, which pop out and of course the window. I love the window with its divided colour pallet, which adds another layer of contrast to the image, and the reflection it makes on the floor.
A great still life picture that lives from contrast. Well done, @elbrick0
