I bought this head from the DOA marketplace intending to use it as a practice head. When it arrived, I liked it so well that I ended up leaving it. I will eventually wipe it and give it a faceup, but for now I’m just enjoying it.

This is a sleeping Rix head on an old A line girl body. One day, I plan to buy a boy body and Rix will share it with my Spring 2017 head.

It’s a big surprise considering how new some of these are. Denverdoll has specified that “ The following Minifee Heads will be temporarily discontinued on Dec. 10th 2020. This is NOT a permanent measure and Fairyland will be conducting surveys and irregular sales chance to purchase them again sometime in future when: 1) Maintenance is finished on the head molds. 2) IF there is enough interest. 3) Provided that such sales event can be accommodated by our processing team”

Kicking off my Rainbow of Orientation: Ace Spectrum celebrations with the pair that started it all.

Like, literally. 

Cenric and Gwaine’s sculpts were the first ever ball jointed dolls I fell in love with to the point that I thought: I have to have them.

Cenric is demisexual and has been in some sort of relationship with Gwaine since they were children. They were best friends and over time, as they grew, that friendship developed into love. Gwaine’s taking a back seat in these photos since this isn’t his day, but their relationship is such an important part of their lives, I couldn’t take these photos without him in them.

Face-up Attempt #75 - Cenric (Minifee Rix)

Functioning without my main computer is becoming increasingly more difficult, I keep having trouble uploading photos to tumblr.

Anyway, new face-up for Cenric! Didn’t really have any concrete plans for him, just wanted to do something new since it’s been a while (his last face-up was #29). I did his face-up at the same time as doing a couple of others so I forgot to take pictures right at the start.

His freckles seem slightly more similar to the type of freckles I get on my arms than regular freckles, but eh, he’s a person who turns into a cerberus, who is to say he can’t have weird freckles.

The worried eyebrows are new as well, they were pretty spur of the moment but they seem cute and are character appropriate so they can stick around for a little bit.

Face-up Attempt #29 - Cenric

*Happy sigh*

I’m so glad to just have this one done. There are bits I’m not thrilled about, but I can definitely put up with this face-up for a while, so I’m happy. I particularly like his eye lines, which I didn’t mess up this time!

Face-up Attempt #28 - Cenric

This just got completely out of hand. He’s not going to be keeping this one for long. The eyeliner was too thick and the eyeshadow winged out too much, the only thing I even remotely like is the eyebrows before I tried to paint eyebrow hairs, but I think I’ve worked out how to make eyebrows (at least the pastel bits) kinda work, so that should be something I can replicate.

Presenting: SECRET PROJECT

aka I can totally make a deer costume for Cenric.

The Doll Social Club NSW & ACT halloween meet was themed Enchanted Forest and I was inspired! There was a competition for best owner-made costume, with the caveat that the entire outfit must be made by the owner, including shoes.

So of course, I decided to make absolutely everything.

I started by sculping hooves, including a bunch of little details that ended up getting completely hidden by the fur. Then I did the armwarmers and the legwarmers, his wig, his antlers and ears (lets not talk about the fact that one of them decided to detach from their magnet this morning as I was packing him up), his tail and his suede shorts. Next up I made the eyes....which was interesting....

Finally, I finished up by attaching elastic as suspenders, and covering the join for the Y with a little sculpted heart.

I ended up winning best owner-made costume, which was awesome! It was a lot of fun making this and I learnt that I could do a lot of things I didn’t know I could do.

I might also upload some of the in-progress pictures I took with my phone, there’s a couple I really like.
