Bill Ruger, also known as one of the biggest fudds in the firearms industry, could also be argued is a proto-weeb of the highest order.

In the 1950s, he made his first pistol in .22lr, called the Ruger Standard, based on the design of the Japanese Nambu pistols.

While having features similar to the German P08 Luger pistol, making it very marketable based on the Lugers reputation, as that was currently seeing success as a competition pistol in Europe after the war.

Now taking a hard right, seeing classic anime, such as Evangelion, making a habit of referencing or showing German culture, we are currently realizing that the perfect blend of American industrialism, German aesthetics, and Japanese innovation is now a solid tradition. So, to celebrate this blend of culture, I'd recommend spending the weekend plinking with a Ruger MkIV or 22/45 topped off with some prime Japanese optics;

I hate this whole 'weapon of war' (OH scary) versus modern sporting rifle (oh let's go shoot some varmints) argument. Both are totally wrong in my opinion. The AR15 is a semi-automatic version of the military M16/M4. It does not have automatic fire mode which is ALL that separates it from an M4. The intent of the 2nd amendment was clearly to ensure the law-abiding citizenry (aka the militia) had military grade weapons (arms) that would hold their own in battle. The AR15 can do that and is a damn excellent home-defense weapon on top of it. But at the end of the day if the chips are down, I still would prefer my Mini14 at close quarters (much more reliable).

Why do people always clown on the mini14 and call it a fud gun?

Well, because it kind of is - it’s got wood furniture and looks a bit like a scaled-down Garand so it’s all nice and friendly looking. Sure it’s semi-auto and fires the exact same round as the AR-15 but it doesn’t have scary black plastic all over it so it’s safe and reasonable. It’s a way for Fudds to enjoy modern firearms and be in denial about it.
