"Hearing of other Commanders gives off a strange feeling sometimes. It's like they have what is mine but I'm not everywhere, and hearing others love Aurene the way I do is refreshing. That being said, having to feel what everyone else is feeling in the capacity Kerra does must be exhausting sometimes. Is there a way to turn it off? And... She didn't have to kill Trahearne. I'm envious, I really am."

Nyra is somewhat defensive of her position as Commander, so hearing about other Commanders would've sat more badly with her if she was younger, but she doesn't have anything against Kerra as a person. In fact, they'd be friends. Also, the knowledge that Hearne didn't have to die (especially if she found that out during season 3) would've really fucked up further and she would've fallen into an even deeper hole of self loathing. But she's aware none of that is on Kerra but is her responsability to work through.

Ren on Minei

"I don't want to talk shit about our allies, diplomacy and all, but Minei is a kid. Does the Vigil not background check their members? Sure, we need talented spellcasters (and kudos to that) but a recruit at 15? Vera was a year older when she died, though. But she was forced to do what she did. I had no choice in joining the Whispers, not a real one anyway, but volunteering was the farthest thing from my mind. I did end up liking, but still. Some fifteen year olds are still in the orphanage! Soulkeeper, check your members' backgrounds!"

Ren, the children's rights activist lol Jokes aside, she'd really be bugged by this and try to rationalise. She's aware she's being a bit hypocritical, but children being sent to danger (by their own will or not) really doesn't sit right with her. She was an adult when she actively began agent work, after all.

Minei, after affectionately elbowing Prem (@hawkepockets) in the side and taking a shot herself, appears to be momentarily (and tipsily) lost in thought trying to picture what Abomination the First might have looked like.

Chieko, on the other hand, sighs in response to Airell's question and grabs a shot in such a way that she nearly slaps it off the table. "Second shot for me tonight and it's this?"

Maya blinks at her and starts to grin as she downs it. "That's the magic waterfall...pool?...thing in Lion's Arch, right? How did you--"

Chieko groans, putting her head down on the table. Slightly muffled, she says, "I was ten and curious and tripped on a rock. Zommoros was somehow less bothered by the whole thing than my parents were. Not the best impression for nobles visiting Lion's Arch, apparently."

She leaves her head on the table for a solid 20 seconds until Minei, who has to lean halfway over the table, reaches over and pokes her, at which point her head pops back up real fast. "Oh! Uh...never have I ever been afraid of the dark."

Open Character Game! (For GW2) Never Have I Ever Edition

Let's get some character interactions going between people! This could be a fun way to get to know other people's OC's by letting yours and theirs interact.

Please note - this will likely contain mature content so participate at your own discretion. If your answers will be mature please put them under a Read More! But otherwise go hog wild, I'm not going to make this be family friendly.

Rules:

-The post you reblog is the question one of your OC's has to answer, then that OC can come up with another question for the next person to answer.

I'll post a few questions at the end of this post for people to start from!

-If your character *has* done the prompt in question (ex: Valens has been caught singing in the shower using soap as a microphone) that character gets to either: down a shot of alcohol or do pushups.

-If your first character *has not* done the prompt in question the question may go to the others that you have chosen from your roster.

-Please limit yourself to only using 3 characters for this game! Many of us have a ton of OC's but to keep with the theme of getting to know a few better, pick up to 3 you'd like to have 'join' the game. Interactions between your own chosen characters is fine though! (ex: if Valens is doing pushups and Sigilis was chosen as another character, she would be giving Valens lots of flak about it)

There are no winners/losers, the only elimination is what you think is funny or in character for an OC being drunk or tired and unable to keep playing. Have fun with it this not a contest, it's a way to get to know others OC's and be silly.

Love this, let’s talk about some kiddos! :D Miscellaneous spoilers here, so there’s a cut to be safe. (Mention of injuries, too, because I explain the scars!)

Kerra has more scars--unsurprising, since she’s the Commander and has therefore experienced death once and near-death several times. The biggest one is diagonally across her torso on both sides, courtesy of Balthazar, and the fact that her current outfit has an open back where that’s visible is a big deal for her. Makeover-wise, her hair’s a bit darker and her eyes a bit lighter, but she’s kept the same haircut for years and doesn’t plan on changing any time soon :)

Minei had long hair when she was younger, which she braided, but she’s had short hair almost since the start of the personal story--she cut it after her adoptive father was killed, which was under a month before she joined the Vigil. (Every once in a while I’m reminded how much trauma this child had back-to-back and it makes me want to formally apologize asdljkf)

Rel has a scar on his shoulder and an ankle that never completely healed after he twisted it; both of those injuries are from the beginning of HoT. As for other aesthetic stuff, his hair’s a bit longer now than it looks in-game, but he still styles it the same way.

Nisha looks a whole lot healthier than xe did, even though xe’s definitely accumulated scars, too. It’s most easily visible in xyr hair, which hasn’t changed color but has most definitely changed volume. Xe also smiles easier, and though xe doesn’t exactly have wrinkles, you can see the changes that wrought in their face.

Cio’s hair has darkened a bit since Primordus’ death and looks more ‘smoldering’ than ‘on fire’, but only by a little. her eyes have stayed the same. (And this isn’t exactly a physical change, but she gets a stormcloud-and-lightning-bolt pin that she keeps on her headband pretty much always.)

Ari has a scar on her leg where it got poked by rebar during the Pact fleet crash and a scar on her arm from being too slow during a Whispers mission. The twin claw mark scars on the side of her jaw are from when she was a cub. (And she makes sure to always wear at least a tiny bit of red.)

And if I continue i can and will talk for another twenty minutes, so we’ll stop there als;jdadasdf :) Hope you enjoyed the facts!

hey folks almost 10 years have passed since the start of the personal story in gw2, tell me about how your characters have physically/visually changed as time went on in tyria. not necessarily just actual in-game makeover changes, but also little headcanons (scars, wrinkles, a haircut u can't get ingame - whatever)

Slightly losing it over here contemplating Minei and her blessing from Grenth for the fiftieth time, but this time it's specifically because she was four.

She wasn't old enough to understand any of the wider implications of anything going on. The only reason she understood that her parents were dead when she walked in the room was because she had enough of a natural bent towards necromancy to sense it--and she didn't really even know what she was sensing. Just that they had gone somewhere she couldn't reach, and that it was the fault of the people standing over them.

She'd never seen death before that. She'd rarely pulled on necromantic power before that. She'd never truly used violence before that, beyond the very occasional mild lashing out of an infant or a toddler.

Just...the idea of a kindergartner's pain and terror and distress being powerful enough to attract the attention of a god.

He grabs his pencil from where it was tucked behind his ear and flips open a battered notebook.

“Who’s first? Goin’ to Charrbucks, if that makes a difference.”

Kerra looks up and smiles. "Oh! Thank you, much appreciated. One of the iced tea lemonades, if they have it--peach is good. And a muffin? I don't care what type."

Minei considers for a moment. "Dark chocolate mocha?"

Cio's the last to chime in. "Nitro cold brew, please! Thanks."
