🐴Favorite horse pattern: I can't chose one so my top 3 patterns (in any order) are dark brown with black sooty marks, grey with black sooty marks, and then just the full black horse.

🐈Favorite cat color: Definitely the ragdoll pattern I just enjoy looking at it the most.

🦅Faborite parrot color: Honesty cannot remember the last time I had a pet parrot. I think it's the silver cockatiel though.

🐾 Favorite passive mob: Does the dragon egg count as a passive mob?? Because I love that thing so much. Real answer tho is the cat.

💀Favorite hostile mob? Least favorite hostile mob?: ENDER DRAGON I LOVE HER. But also I really really like gaurdians. I currently have a pet gaurdian in my mc house named Guppy! He is my sweet baby boy that I show to people to freak them out. Least favorite is gonna have to be hoglins they are very annoying. This answer has nothing to do with me being murdered by a hoglin in my speedrun earlier today I promise. You have to believe me.

this is a nuts thing to say but i think the addition of turtles to minecraft was a weirdly interesting thing in regards to sexes

like turtles all still look the same just like any other minecraft mob but now the mechanic of them laying eggs in front of you means that technically during each of those interactions, one of those turtles is female.

now, my understanding is that isnt static-- you could breed two turtles one time and one would lay the eggs and do it another time and the other turtle would lay the eggs, functioning as the female on a case by case basis. but its an interesting fact that mojang has never added actual sexual dimorphism (different sexes having different traits despite being from the same species) into the game.

and turtles resemble chickens somewhat in this way in that all chickens lay eggs but it doesnt operate the same way in terms of breeding, so its just an interesting difference that you actually see which animal functions as female during that interaction.

this is also i think a function of people having preconceived notions about certain animals in mind-- most people, when thinking about cows, think of heifers. most people think of hens rather than roosters. contrarily, people think of billy goats rather than does/nannies, but they think of ewes rather than rams.

so in minecraft you have an animal kingdom made up entirely of single-sex (in appearance and function, aside from reproductive capacity) species and then you add turtles, who dont have a socially preconceived notion of sex aside from maybe laying eggs, and now all are capable of doing so but only one in each interaction.

day 1 of drawing my dearly beloved mutuals as what I think their Minecraft skins would look like

Just to be clear, this is what I think. Idk if my drawings even look remotely similar to their mc skins so yeah, this is all for fun only :P

First off, we have @sundere1181

I wanted to draw them in a hoodie as Mikey from rottmnt, but that first design wasn't so good, so i scrapped it. Then I moved to this design, and I felt a bit better abt it :] I think that they're the type to be pranking others, or open a restaurant in the middle of a war in the server, where both sudes can just chill at their restaurant.

Next off, we have @creative-chaos-apparently

I always thought that they would always be messy and disorganized at times because I imagine that they'd be wandering off exploring the Minecraft world or building sanctuaries for frogs and axolotls. In the end, I thought of a bit of an explorer fit, and I got this :D the design was supposed to put a gladiator helmet on their head, but I liked the hair too much :(

Yes i can!!! She is my beloved lil meow meow and i love her SO much. She is very sweet and has a very big personality. Also everything i own doesn't belong to me, it's hers. She's very vocal and if you talk to her she talks back which means you can carry a whole conversation with her and it is adorable. She is also very cuddly and owns more than half of my bed which is why i sleep curled in a ball at night.

She is very pretty, but i am terrible at taking good pictures so i mostly just have goofy ones of her:

hey..... not technically a "fish" but do you want some fun facts about my favorite aquatic animal? I'm hoping you do.

Olms are distant cousins to the beloved axolotl. They are long n noodley. They were discovered in 1689 by a man who thought they were baby dragons. They are not, unfortunately. They're aquatic salamanders.

They are mostly blind, with skin covering their eyes, although they can sense light. They also still have the ability to produce melanin despite living in underwater caves! So they start pink, but can be brown too, and they share the branchy gills of axolotls.

They can go for TEN YEARS without food. They have also been observed to stay completely still for SEVEN YEARS STRAIGHT. lil couch potatoes.

I agree with you anon, I am a fish lover first but I am also an aquatic animal lover and a defender of overlooked animals second. Axolotls and amphibians aren’t talked about too much in the mainstream — though with the appearance of lotls and frogs in Minecraft that has somewhat changed — but olms are mentioned even less!! This is clearly very wrong, as olms are really cool and interesting animals in their own right. They’re like mysterious wise sages, but at the same time reach the kind of silliness that snakes and axolotls and other “no thoughts head empty” long animals have! A hard balance, in my opinion. It’d be cool to make a fun facts comic on them eventually, like I’ve done with Magnapinnas, sea cucumbers, sand dollars and sea bunnies (and some other animals I’m working on).

Back from another trip and HOO BOY I brought back a few things! To start with though, here are JUST the things I got with my partner after visiting their local flea market and a few goodwills.

Most of this was from just three bags at one Goodwill that seemingly all came from one household getting rid of a bunch of stuff. In total they were only a bit over 20 bucks, but my partner found enough Monster High parts to be worth that much alone, let alone my picks of the lot and the other unwanted items (they work with kids, so they'll find another happy home sooner or later!)

Highlights I pulled from just this set of bags include:

IRL Minecraft Bow (no arrows)

A (recently tested functional) Bop It

A 2012 TMNT RC kart and controller (currently non-functional, may require new batteries)

A couple of clay art projects, one of which is a small turtle with a familiar blue mask painted on, and the other is a dinosaur with a shifting color light that shines through

The Shovel Knight Arby's DLC stickers (yes, a real thing that happened. Soon to be redundant thanks to DX, but oh well)

A ceramic cat statue I gave to my grandma on the way back home, which she tenderly placed alongside similar items in one of those glass cases for small things that grandmas naturally acquire

A frog valentine's day solar powered dancing guy. My mom loves those dancing guys but hates frogs so she had mixed feelings about this gift.

And the holy grail item, a 6 inch collector edition Classic Sonic figure, including display base and nearly all of his original accessories, save for a single splayed hand. This was what got us to buy the bags, as I figured the base would be a useful addition to my Sonic figure display, and we also spotted only the head in another bag. This guy alone would go for 35-150 USD depending on condition, and while mine has got some rough spots, it's still the highlight piece of the find by far.

Individually purchased items from the Goodwills include:

Jimmy Neutron for 2 bucks. Good movie, shocked I only just now got it.

Splatoon 1 for 5 bucks. Preserving the single player and local modes are enough for me, but potential Pretendo workarounds mean I could still effectively have the whole game. Probably sold my original copy for at least 5 bucks in store credit anyways.

Shrek Mug. "Shrug" for short. 5 bucks. Enough said.

Webkinz Bullfrog for 3 bucks. I've had the small version for ages as one of my most beloved childhood toys, so getting the full sized lad was cathartic. Here they now sit together in my plush collection, brothers united.

Items from the flea market include:

Symmetra funko for 4 bucks. No turret, predictably, but it'll do until I give her a custom real figure later.

Raddinyan yokai watch mini statue. 2 bucks. My first Yokai Watch merch I guess?

3-in-1 dog lego set for 7 bucks. Love the lady I get these legos cheap from, she just plays with some sets partway before deciding to sell them for cheap. Especially nice when we found the same set at target later for 20-30 bucks.

Diddy Kong Racing lunchbox for 2 bucks. Felt like a neat enough thing even if not something I wanted too badly. Apparently it goes for 30 bucks online if I wanna flip it?

And that's not even all I brought home, but the rest will be highlighted in its own post.
