Sometimes I think about Lazlos relationship to being human. He didn't choose to be a vampire, Nadja forced it onto him (all the love in the world to Nadja but still).

Lazlo loves being human, his best friend is a human. The second he had to pretend to be human, he became a kind bartender named Jackie Daytona who supports the local womens volleyball team. He gives Colin Robinson the best last year of his life, knowing that he will die. He chooses to raise Baby Colin as his own, supporting his passions, even when he doesn't fully understand them. When he finally gets the chance to be in the sun afain, he goes to the beach, sits in the sun, plays in the sand and fishes in the sea. He helps Guillermo with his struggles and helps him keep his secret. He remembers the time and date on which they complimented the Guide. He even goes to try to apologise to Guillermo when he failed.

Just think about all the things Lazlo must miss desperately about being human. All the passions and desires he probably (subconsciously) hides from who he's closest to.

His character means to much to me and I could talk about this for days but instead I'll just give you this gif.
