Wow, I just finished reading your most recent piece with Kara and it was really well done. You mentioned the idea of immortality in that and wondered how that could be used in a different piece perhaps. Kara (Plus Alex and the others) possibly finding out that reader is immortal and has been for a long time. (As a sort of headconnon or what not. I’d presume reader would be running a personally owned company, as big if not bigger than L-Corp. What with having a long time to amass wealth)
Kara Danvers X Reader
Summary:
Reader reveals she’s immortal to the super friends. Kara comforts her.

Thanks for the request! Sorry for taking so long. It being shorter is the sacrifice I’ve made to return to writing, but I hope you enjoy anyways!
——
It’s game night that the super friends find out about my immortality.
It comes out when Lena says she’s been looking into my company, wanting to buy it. She mentions curiously that it says I’m the founder, when it’s well known my company has been around for nearly a hundred years.
And, well…It comes out then, because you’ve stopped being secretive about it when it stopped being something you had to be secretive about…
They know now— of my immortality, and though I should feel relief at the being known, of the truth I’ve not done much to hide revealing itself, all I feel is discontent. Discontent and unsatisfied, unsatisfied because the agony and empathy in their eyes is lackluster. They know now, and even as they try to understand they’re incapable of it.
I am immortal, and yet I have lived a thousand lives in my one everlasting one. There’s so much devastation in every end when you’ve had countless of new beginnings. I do best in the in between where l don’t have to face either beginning or end. It’s in the start of something new that every fiber of my being screams for stop.
Getting used to something doesn’t mean it gets easier, in the same way grief often works. I am constantly grieving my lives, and it’s become a heavy burden they could never understand.
It hurts in a way I hadn’t accounted for. With the coming of Superman, the rise of aliens, the new acceptance of them—there’s a rise of difference, and in that alternative community. It makes you feel better, this new life. It’s given you more hope of being understood than ever before, but to be faced with your friend’s sympathetic eyes, it all feels lackluster.
Even more so when Winn makes a nerdy comment about wanting to know the truth about history. Everyone laughs, laughs and leaves me alone in the same instant.
I laugh along, searching for connection and finding none. Disappointment was the backside of the renewed hope this life has given me. I felt intensely that there was no point in explaining any of anything that had ever happened for me. To reject them that would allow me the dignity of being not understood on my own terms.
It is better to be alone by yourself, than to be alone surrounded by people after all.
Karas eyes meet mine. She’s sitting by Alex and Lena’s feet. Her and Lena the only ones not laughing, trying to lighten the mood. Lena gives me an apologetic smile, on behalf of the others. There’s connection there.
Kara…Kara just goes distant. Goes distant then, and then goes distant the rest of the game night. It’s when everyones leaving and she stops me, I understand, or accept really; it was because of me. What I said.
I’d been hoping I wouldn’t have to speak on it ever again, regret like acid still in my stomach.
“You…” Kara pauses, searches my eyes—for what, I don’t know. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
She must sense the way this kills me from the way I wince, because she pulls me into a hug. A hug full of emotion. It shatters me in a way, because it feels like permission. Permission to fall apart.
I can’t, I’ve learned. Know now that if I start, I’ll never stop. All I can do is use logic as avoidance from my heart, and move forward with something resembling acceptance.
I pull away.
“Superman, you, all the aliens, the Meta-Humans, all of you have stretched the definition of what we call ‘humanity’, what we call ‘heart’, and yet still I feel like it escapes me.” It aches as I admit it—feels like a terrible, stupid thing.
Stupid because I have lived so long and yet still, here I am, so agonizingly affected. There are things I know, things I’ve learned, and they all mean nothing.
Kara shakes her head, eyebrows furrowed. She rejects it all. “That very thing inside of that feels different, alone in your experience, that is the very thing that actually connects you to humanity,” Kara says, her eyes soft and understanding.
Understanding in this, in this that she can understand. My heart quickens, I watch Kara, think of hope. Think of her.
Kara who has lost her whole world, her whole culture, who has taken her past and her aloneness and had become a hero, instead of something much darker. “Is there anyone like you, Kara?” I ask. It’s perhaps the question that has tormented her, the way it torments me— “is there anyone like me?”— but I say it like a gift. With reverence.
She is different, inexplicably so. It’s the best thing about her. Kara smiles shyly, looks down, fixes her glasses. “There’s you,” she whispers, “with an aloneness not anyone in this world could understand.”
There’s something about her saying it as it is that settles something inside of you.
“To feel so alone, and have it be the very thing that connects me, and in actuality makes me not alone,” l muse, somehow impressed. There’s not a life that has taught me more than the one with Kara.
There’s a gratitude inside me larger than all the life I’ve lived.
Kara grins, she pulls me in again. Hugs me tight. “I’m sorry about Alex asking to recruit you,” she whispers after a while. I let her words be the thing that has me pulling away, despite Kara’s pout at it.
I smile hesitantly, waving away Kara’s apology. “When Superman showed up it had me thinking about it, but my immortality has been taken advantage of before, and not being able to die isn’t as strong of a power as you might think,” I admit, “I’m not as strong as you’d think.”
Kara gives me a disbelieving look. My defensiveness looks like guilt to her, I know. It is. It’s guilt and fear. I’d want nothing more than to make this forever mean something, but I’m plagued by all of its consequences.
She lets me get away with the things left unsaid, thankfully. In my gratefulness I decide not to ask about her own prolonged life, despite my ongoing curiosity.
I know it’s a sensitive topic. There’s almost all of me that hurts for her, and then there’s a small part of me that thinks; I can live with her longer.
Supergirl, Kara Danvers, Kara Zor-el; my love.
I cough, adjust my bag over my shoulder, and step away. I know I have to before I kiss her in the dim lighting of her apartment, in the body that gets the honor to live alongside her. “See you tomorrow, Supergirl?”
Kara nods, eyes dark. She bites her lip, looks away with a flush. “Yep. One hundred percent. Lunch, right? Right. Yeah. I’ll be there,” Kara confirms, turning an even darker red at my responding eyebrow raise.
“Yeah,” I say, amused. “I’ll be there too. Wouldn’t miss it for my life.”
Kara laughs. Fills your heart for lifetimes with it. You leave with the hope of tomorrow, and the sound of her laugh.

Powergirl Should Die
Supergirl. Powergirl. B!D. Kara Danvers x BabyDanvers!Reader, Alex Danvers x BabyDanvers!Reader, Lena Luthor, Winn Schott.
Word Count: 2550.
Porwergirl should die. Someone should kill her.
The suit is skin tight, it clings so forcefully onto you as if it's trying to become part of you. But this other skin, just simply doesn’t fit right over your bones.
There is a huge House of El crest over your chest, in its golden glory. It weighs down on your skin, heavy and sacred. It should help you feel at ease. It doesn’t. It feels like it’s burning your skin like a branding iron.
Kryptonian?
Yes.
Super powers?
Yes.
You’re a superhero. Next, please!
Kara stands tall next to you, hand on your shoulder. “Would you look at that,” your sister smiles brightly at you. “Mother and father would be so proud of you, mini me.”
Kara has called you that your whole life, but you never felt so little as you do right now. You've also never felt so much like Kara. Crumpled up inside this supersuit to fit someone else’s dream. You don’t think your parents would be very proud of you now.
“Kara, this feels odd.” You try to lift the suit from your skin, that is so snuggled up it barely leaves you room to breathe. “I-I look like you.”
“I know!” She proudly squeaks. “I asked Winn to only change the colors. How do you feel about the white, red and blue?”
“Like a walking American flag.” You wince at the thought. You like the white, it’s a little more sober than the blue in Kara's suit, it also reminds you of the vest you used to wear back in Krypton. The red cape feels like they've ripped a piece of Kara’s and placed it on your back. The high blue boots are uncomfortable and the matching gloves are just plain stupid.
“You certainly don’t look like one.” Alex chimes in from behind you, and you turn around, sick of the sight of you in the mirror. “Honestly sis, I like this suit. I think it might be even better than Kara’s.”
“I wouldn’t go that far, mine has history.”
“Yours is a copy of Superman’s.”
“That’s what I mean, history.”
You watch your sister’s bickering with faint attention because they both would never say how ridiculous you look with this dull, hideous, comical outfit.
But it didn’t matter how foolish you looked, or how stupid you felt. There was no way out of this. Kara said you looked perfect and Alex agreed. J’onn, who’s been the closest thing to a father to you on this planet, gave you a stiff smile when asked what he thought. He could read your mind, remember? That’s what he thought about it. And Winn was just over the moon with his creation. No way out. From that day on, you’re Powergirl.
It hasn’t been long since you started being Powergirl. You’re still not the most prominent face of the Supers, thank God for that. You do the easy jobs while Kara takes on the real bad guys. You follow her lead. Obey to what Alex tells you to do over the comm that is permanently stuck in your ear. As if you couldn’t hear her from miles and miles away.
But with every passing day, it becomes even more obvious to you that you were really not cut out for this superhero life. Not good at it. Not happy with it. Not fit for it.
The very opposite of Kara, actually. Because Kara fits everywhere and with everyone. She fits perfectly in her suit, with her alias. Perfectly at her job at CatCo, as a news reporter. And ever since she landed on Earth she created her perfect family, story, life on this planet.
You, on the other hand, wish everyday you were still at Krypton. You are well aware that if you stayed behind, that if your parents hadn't made Kara snuggle your smaller form against her own body on that pod, you would have exploded. You wouldn't be alive today. And you wish people knew you don't want to be dead, you just wish your planet hadn't exploded in the first place.
Sure Kara feels the same. Yet she makes a name for herself and gives back to this planet that took you both in so willingly, that gave you both powers because of its sun. Kara is just different.
"Mother would want us to use our powers for good." She would whisper to you in the dark, whenever the Danvers would tell you to not use your powers. Whenever they asked you to fit in completely. "Father spent so much time trying to stop our planet from deteriorating, don't you think that if he had powers he would use them to make that happen?"
She would ask you questions that didn't feel like questions. That required no answers at all. Kara would tell you what she knew about them, use them as arguments to explain to you (convince even) why you had to become a superhero too.
And you would lay there in the dark, after your sister was asleep, looking at the long dead stars, and wondering whether she was right. Whether that was your parents' plans all along or just a sad coincidence.
"Powergirl." You hear Kara's voice early in the morning while you're still trying to brew yourself a cup of coffee. "I need you for a second."
"It's too early in the morning and I have to get ready for work." You press on your comm to answer. "Can't you deal with it alone?"
"Hm, no. I need you to come here now."
You let out a huge sigh, trying to ease your own mind. Coffee will wait, you guess. You're out of your pj's, into your suit, and out of the house in a blur. You stop next to Kara while she stares at a billboard.
"What?" You can't help the harshness of your tone as you see no emergency around her.
Kara says nothing. Only points at the billboard and you finally take note of it. Written in large red colors, the sentence: Powergirl should die.
Huh.
"It seems that you have an enemy." Kara says when time enough has passed for you to read the sentence over a few times. "Don't worry, we'll catch them."
Cute. It's your first thought. It's almost like someone wrote you a love letter, au contraire.
Kara makes an effort to tear it all down, destroy the billboard before anyone sees it. You don't help her, stuck inside your own mind, replaying the words in your head.
"No need to worry." She assures you, hand on your shoulder to get you out of your trance. "No one will do you any harm, mini me. I'd never let anyone hurt you."
"Thanks, Kar." You look at your watch on your wrist. "Work calls." And so you fly home.
You try to lodge that sentence in the back of your mind. You don't wanna seem stressed out, even though you are. But showing how actually worried you are about it, and with the fact that someone is coming for you, it's inconceivable.
Kara would worry. Alex would stress. Ooof, you can see it all playing out. Sleepovers and excuses for you to miss work and hang at the DEO headquarters so they can keep an eye on you, until you're feeling suffocated.
No, no. You can't go through that. It's been a while since you and your sisters shared a bedroom. You don't think you three can do that again now that you're grown ups.
It happens again. You don't see it, but you hear the agents commenting about it, a couple days later. They get muted the second you fly in the DEO, which is not only annoying but foolish. You do have super hearing after all.
"So, where was it this time?" You ask Alex, while she tries to avoid looking at you.
"Where's what?" She tries, and you furrow your brows.
"Winn, put it on the monitor." You ask coming closer. Winn looks at Alex as if asking for permission, but you don't give her time to deny him. "Come on, I heard the agents. I'm still Kryptonian even if I'm not a Super."
Winn huffs. "On the tallest building of National City." The photo goes up on the large TV in front of you, and you swallow deep.
Powergirl should die.
"Y/N," Alex talks in a low tone so the agents around can't hear her. "it's not personal."
"Looks personal." You cross your arms, turning your back at the TV. "Someone wanting me dead sounds like it's as personal as it can get."
"Supergirl is looking into it, I promise we'll catch whoever did this."
"Alex, please." You pass her on your way to the training room. "You know damn well my favorite thing about you is that you don't lie."
"You've lost too many punching bags." You hear a voice behind your back, and you breathe deep before turning around.
"Just training a little." You look at the number of destroyed bags by your feet and decide that it's true, there's too many, even though that's what they're here for.
"Alex told me about the message." Kara approaches you slowly, trying to test the territory. She can see your distress, but doesn't know the extent of it. And she won't, because you're definitely going to fake it.
"Yeah, tall building. They got the writing off quickly, though. So no major problems."
"Honey," Kara's voice is even sweeter now, if that's possible. "I'll catch them. I'll be patrolling tonight. No one's coming for you."
"I'm not worried." You smile at your lie, or half of lie for what it's worth. Knowing that Kara will be patrolling the city helps. You know your sister would never let anything bad happen to you. And it's very unlikely that anyone on this planet could easily defeat two Kryptonians.
Kara also smiles, and brings you into her arms for a hug. And you breathe out, calmer. Kara's arms have kept you safe from many perils. Spaceship lost in space, new planet, new school, new job. Surely she can keep you safe again.
You don't feel safe, though, when you wake up to a familiar voice far away. You rub the sleep from your eyes, well awake, paying close attention to a conversation you weren't invited to be a part of.
"Alex, I went around the city, there's no new wri-"
"Kara? What was that?"
There it was, in big red letters the sentence that has been haunting you for days. Powergirl should die. And under it new words' been added, someone should kill her.
"I found new writing." Kara's voice comes a second later. "It's worse this time."
"Take a picture so we can compare the handwriting and get back here."
"I have to clean this up." But before Kara even has the chance to, you're flying next to her in front of the L Corp building. "Y/N! What are you doing here?"
You move closer to the building to investigate. The ink is still wet, it wasn't done too long ago. You look around trying to find cameras. It's Lena's building, you're sure there are cameras everywhere. You spot one with a direct view.
"Mini me-" Kara tries.
"Go to work Supergirl, I'll deal with this. Someone wanting me dead is my problem." It's always been your problem, you are aware. But Kara promised you, you had nothing to worry about. Promised she would patrol the city. Promised she would protect you. And yet, here it is, in big block red letters.
"But-"
"I got it, Kara. Can you just believe in me?"
"Y/N, you know I do. I just wanna help."
"I don't need help." You clench your jaw, tired of being treated like a little girl. Like a mini Kara instead of your own person. "I'm Kryptonian too."
Cheap shot? Maybe. Definitely. You throw it, anyway.
You clean the writing then fly home to suit up. You can't face Lena without it. Another secret that only makes you hate your secret identity as hard. Lying to your friends, sneaking out, it's all stressing and there's literally no reward high enough worth of all this.
"Lena."
"Oh shit." Lena's hand goes to her chest after her obvious scare. You can hear her heart almost beating out of her chest. "It's too early for bad news, Powergirl."
"Trust me, I agree with that." You breathe out, trying to give her a smile. It comes out flat. "I was wondering if I could look into one of your surveillance cameras. There was some writing on this building this morning, I would very much like to know who's responsible."
"Writing? I - I didn't see anything when I came in."
"Good. I cleaned it as fast as possible." You point at her computer and she breathes deep as if she is agreeing with you.
It doesn't take long for the images to be up, and you two to be carefully reversing the filming until Lena sees you and Kara flying in front of it, and read the words herself. She looks up to you and quirks up an eyebrow, in question.
"Currently unsure if someone is threatening me or if this is just general knowledge being passed on."
"People don't want you dead, you're a superhero!" Lena argues. "Maybe Lex, but he's currently serving his time."
"Clearly not everyone agrees with you." You point back at the words on her computer.
"It's awful." She admits, even though she doesn't fully trust you or Kara yet. "Wait, wait. There."
You can't see a thing. One minute is there, the other isn't. You slow down the images, trying to see any detail. Lena soon takes over and slows down as much as she can. That's when you see it, just a tiny flash of red. You hold your breath. Thankfully, Lena hasn't noticed it.
"How's this possible? There's no one."
"Seems that I'll have to patrol the city myself tonight." You're almost leaving Lena's office when you turn around one more time. "Thank you for your help, Ms. Luthor."
"I was barely of any help at all." Lena points at the computer as proof and you give her a smile.
"Au contraire, darling. You showed me everything I needed to see." You wink at her, then fly out.
You march inside the DEO, positive on your plan. No one is talking you out of it, that's for sure.
Winn tries to argue that it is illogical for you to just give yourself to your enemy. He gets ignored. Alex argues that as a DEO agent she can't let you do this, and as your older sister she would be insane to leave you alone in this situation. You don't budge. Kara pulls out the big guns, her promise to mother and father, her duty as your protector, how you're the only connection she still has with Krypton, her love for you and so on. Her cries fall on deaf ears.
So at night, you fly around National City watching and studying everyone in it, even though you know you should only be looking for one person. One person with superspeed, a red cape and a big motive.

“102.7 Fahrenheit. She's getting better,” Alex looked back to her sister, who was biting her lip.
“She looks so,”
“Kids are strong. She'll be just fine, Kara.” Alex didn't want to let Kara finish. Nodding Kara’s eyes trailed to the floor,
“What if I can't save her,” Alex looked at her with concern.
“What do you mean?”
“I don't know how to take care of a sick kid. I’ve never-” Kara had started to get emotional. “I’ve never been sick myself and so I don't know what she's going through. I don't know how to comfort her. Or even know what will make everything better.”
“Oh Kara,” Alex pulled her younger sister close. “You’re doing just fine.”
“I don't want to do just fine, I want to be able to take good care of her, all by myself.” She sniffled, annoyed with herself, trying to keep her breathing in check.
“I know, I know…” Kara pulled away.
“I have to get to work.” She fought back tears as she whispered a goodbye to you and flew to work.
-
“Is Y/n still sick?” Winn asked from his desk.
“Yes. Is she here yet?”
“Nope, but how is she?” Kara dumped her purse off and sat at her desk with a huff.
“I don't know. She was asleep when I was there.”
“What did Alex say?”
“Her temperature is down.” She said focusing on writing a note down for their late boss. Winn furrowed his brows, and decided to give his friend some space.
“Okay.” The kryptonian gave her friend a sorrowful glance, before continuing her work.
-
“She's sleeping, Kara.”
“Again? I was just here.”
“That was 6 hours ago.”
“Well,” Kara scoffs, putting her bag down. “I want to see her.”
“You're cute, really, but if you wake her, I’ll be sending the potstickers back.” The older sister stepped in front of the Krytonian.
“I wasn't planning on it…” Kara tries arguing, before Alex gives her a suspicious look. Caving, Kara continues, “Come on, Alex, I want to see her getting better. She's my baby.” pouting at her sister.
“Well, she's not my baby, but I am her doctor, so our deal still stands. No patience, no potstickers, Kara Danvers.” With an eyebrow raised, Alex walks away. Watching her older sister walk away, Kara then hangs her head low for a second, taking a minute to catch her breath and think about her daughter. Will she be okay? How am I a good parent? What if she never- Kara stopped herself, and from the moment you were officially adopted had been trying to stop the What if…thoughts. The moment being short lived as a familiar voice calls out to her from across the room.
“Kara!” Lena Luthor walks over, looking baffled. “What are you doing here?” She continues.
“My- My sister works here…” Kara gestured off to the side, chuckling.
“Well, this is no place for a reporter, a gold mine, I’m sure?” Lena picks up on Kara’s slightly confused look, “So many stories to be written. The DEO would be a good piece to get CatCo back on top. Nice thinking, Kara.” Lena, encourages, moving towards the stairs leading to the MedBay.
“Where are you going?” Kara tried to stall. Lena laughed,
“Up to one of the labs, if you’d like to join.”
“You should wait, Alex will be back anytime now.”
“Oh, I’ll see her up there, in a little while. You coming?”
Kara looked back down the hall, not seeing Alex, and reluctantly walked up with Lena. Stopping her every few steps to prevent her from going by the MedBay.
“Lena? Kara!” Alex was heard from down the stairs, in an alert fashion. “Come on, back down here.” Alex could tell Kara was more relaxed after she had addressed them.
“We need to get her out of here.”
“We need to get Y/n, out of here.”
“No, Lena should go, that's my kid you're talking about.”
“What's the Danvers sisters hiding?” Lena asked from afar, making both of them jump. “It's a joke, don't take me seriously.” Her smirk was evident.
“Right,” Kara started.
“Kara is gonna be on her way out, and we’ll be moving to a different lab.” Alex clarifies and hugs her sister goodbye.
“Only god knows if Supergirl will have to intervene today.” Lena rolled her eyes, whispered to Alex as Kara was on her way out.
“Don't forget your- Coat, it's still upstairs. I’ll bring the potstickers over for dinner.” Alex winks, smiling, and turns with Lena. Kara smiles in return, as she turns on her heels excited to see her baby. You had been at the DEO for the last two days and Alex had told you today you would be going back home. The idea excited you, as the DEO was quite amusing when there was nothing to do but sit. You laid still on the bed, breathing lightly and head turned to the side. She walked closer to the bed.
“Y/n/n, y/n, wake up…” She nudged you, carefully. Mumbling, you move around before fully waking up.
“I’m fine, Alex.” Is the first thing you whisper, before opening your eyes and seeing who was there. “Mommy!” Kara instantly shushes you, not wanting anyone to hear. You pulled her into a hug.
“Let's go, we’re gonna get you home. Lena’s here.” When she explained it further about Lena, you understood and followed instructions.
“Why is it always, Lena.” You complain, on the fly home. Kara, leaning to the right to dodge a building, seeming to be deep in thought, she answered.
“I don't know, sweetheart. We’re almost home.”
“Why can't you just tell her and make up!”
“We are not discussing that right now.”
“There's nothing else to talk about.” You mumble, knowing your mom would hear you either way.
“What was that?” Kara knew exactly what you had said.
“Nothing.”
-
Touching down back at home was refreshing, which you didn't do much after returning home, but groggily walked back to Kara’s bed.
“I’m making chicken noodle soup for you!” You responded with a grunt, not wanting to talk much anymore. Feeling a bit stupid about how you already felt tired again. “Hey, will you come in here, I want to take your temperature and do medicine.”
“No.” You were always sure she would be able to hear you, but after she didn't do anything, you slowly got up and walked in. Settling in a chair at the Island, Kara came around with the thermometer and gave it to you.
“Do you know how to do it…?” She felt embarrassed to ask her sick kid how to work it, but she didn't have the slightest idea and google wasn't doing anything to help her with it.
“Mhm…” You took your temperature and handed it back to her.
“103.1.” Worse? “You're worse. How?” You shrug your shoulders and take the medicine she set in front of you. “Y/n?” You were on your way out of the Kitchen again, not saying anything to your mom. Kara breathes out, “This is harder than I thought.” whispering to herself.

"So your parents were sent off well?" Kara asked just as she and Anais landed in front of a expensive-looking building J'onn had requested their appearance at.
"Yeah," Anais gave a light shrug of her shoulders. "I told them the man from the pod was another Kryptonian so there was nothing to worry about. They and my godparents are leaving to get some well needed rest."
"You believe that?"
Anais snorted. "They're all science geeks. Anyways, where the hell are we?" The two made it into the building and found the familiar DEO employees going about their usual tasks. "Where are we?" Anais repeated her question and hoped someone would finally answer them.
"The Department of Extra-Normal Operations, where else?" J'onn stopped by them, wondering why they were acting so clueless.
Both women exchanged exact, incredulous glances.
"Wait! Wait, wait, wait!" Kara followed J'onn first. "This has always been here? With the glass and the views and...and you made me fly to that cave every day!"
"DEO has several facilities, Kara."
"A bat bit me in the last one!”
"Whiner," J'onn calmly said, eliciting a snicker from Anais but a rather offended look from Kara.
"Hey, sis," Alex greeted when the trio entered the medbay room.
"You knew about this place, too?" Anais raised an eyebrow. She was beginning to feel rather offended herself for not being in the loop.
"Yeah, it's like a block from my apartment. It's kind of like the old place. Maybe better."
Kara decided to put that behind them or else they would never get to the news of the moment. She gazed at the unconscious man in Alex's care. "He has to be from Krypton. He must have escaped before the planet exploded, like Clark and I did."
"He's comatose. His vitals are stable. Breathing is normal. There's nothing else we can really learn from him because…" Alex had tried to stick a needle in the man's arm but the needle broke instead.
"That proves he's from Krypton!"
"I think it just proves he's not human," Anais chimed in her opinion. Kara looked at her seeming rather offended. "There's a lot of aliens that have freaky strength, myself included."
"Which means he could be dangerous," J'onn said what everyone else had already assumed.
"Sir, I would request that Winn help with the investigation," Alex said once she saw Winn coming into the room. "We need someone to analyze the pod's telemetry, and Winn does read Kryptonian."
At the questioning looks from Kara and J'onn, he meekly explained, "I got bored. I thought I'd pick up a new language. Space talk!"
"You want to prove your worth, Mr. Schott? Find out something my team of highly trained alien experts can't," J'onn said, meaning it as a kind way of letting Winn know his time probably wasn't going to be of much use.
Winn took that as the exact opposite. "Challenge accepted."
Anais laughed quietly. J'onn nodded Winn to follow him out but stopped under the threshold for a moment. "Oh, Solar, your friend is being released in twenty minutes."
Anais eagerly nodded and thanked him again. She turned to meet the smiling faces of Kara and Alex. "What?"
"Arun is getting released today?" Kara asked even though they already knew the answer.
"Yes, he was officially declared nonthreatening," Anais rolled her eyes. "That's still rude but... it's behind us. We're going to watch the Venture space launch tonight after he shows me his art shop."
"Oh, going on a date already…?" Alex purposely teased and Kara really did try to suppress her laughter.
"It's not a date, Alex. He's showing me his life and I'm going to show him mine," Anais smiled brightly at the thought of finally meeting someone like her. "And don't worry Kara, I'll stay clear of the apartment so you and James can have some alone time."
"Oh, so you're the one going on a date?" Alex shifted her teasing glance to Kara instead.
"Yup," Kara answered fast. "It's gonna be great. We are finally both free and clear to just hang out. No aliens trying to destroy the Earth. Just him and me, together like normal people, doing what people do on dates." She had to stop though when she noticed Alex's intense look. "What?"
Alex cleared her throat and purposely moved away from her sister. She went to put down the needle she'd tried using on the mysterious man. "You're just kind of doing that thing where you are super overeager, which means that you really aren't, but you're trying to convince yourself that you are."
"You got all of that from that one response?" Anais blinked in genuine surprise. She wondered if this was what it was like to have a sibling. Sure her parents knew her emotions well but a sibling, she imagined, knew more things about you that the parents wouldn't.
"She does that a lot, you'll see," Alex moved on out of the room but of course Kara went after her, protesting what had been assumed about her.
"I'm excited! I am so excited!"
Anais didn't say anything but she was pretty sure someone who was genuinely excited about something wouldn't go so hard trying to convince someone that they indeed were really excited. Thankfully, things didn't enter into an actual argument since Kara was called away by Cat. Though when she did go, she didn't do it before uttering one more time that she was "super uber excited" which really just proved Alex right.
"Every day I get to know something new about your sister," Anais chuckled as now she and Alex headed towards the main room.
"That's going to happen. I'm really just looking out for her," Alex felt the need to clarify. She didn't want to sabotage Kara's long awaited date but she just knew that Kara wasn't truly happy at the moment. "And I'll be looking out for you too, just so we're clear."
Anais blinked. "What? What did I do?"
Alex playfully rolled her eyes. "Your parents asked me to keep an eye on you."
"Oh great-"
"And keeping my word…" Alex came to a stop suddenly, making Anais dread what was coming, "I want you to be extra careful when you're around Arun."
"Alex, I already told you he wasn't dangerous-"
"You don't know someone's intentions, alright? Now Arun has been living on Earth for a long time. You know who is biologically, but you don't know what kind of person he is in reality," Alex was very serious in this matter. She would be repeating this to Anais every time she deemed it necessary. "So today, while you're out with him, watch yourself. Don't go to his apartment yet."
"Alex, c'mon," Anais laughed at the absurdity of her words. "I'm not a little kid. And I certainly have the means to protect myself."
"I know you do, but I still want you to be alert," Alex smiled and hoped Anais would understand she was just looking out for her too. She left Anais in the central room afterwards but even as Anais tried pushing Alex's words away it was impossible.
Alright, so maybe she couldn't fully trust Arun yet but it didn't mean she had to view him as a villain.
"You alright?"
Anais flinched when Winn touched her shoulder. She snapped out of her thoughts and waved him off. "Yeah, don't worry about it. Alex is trying to be my big sister."
"And that's...bad…?" Winn wasn't sure due to her straight face. "I mean, I know Alex can be scary but, she's fine. She's cool."
Anais chuckled and playfully rolled her eyes. "She is but she just had this idea that I shouldn't be so trusting in Arun."
"He was cleared of any threats, right?"
"Yes!"
"Well, I mean...it wouldn't hurt to be cautious," Winn flashed her a nervous smile when he noticed she was close to glaring at him. "Or not... not works too. Do whatever you feel is right."
She ultimately smiled. "Way to stand your ground. You know, if you're going to be working here, you'll need to learn how to do that."
"Me work here?" Winn's eyes went wide at the idea. "At the DEO?" His laughter wasn't received well since Anais had been dead serious.
"C'mon, Winn. You're more than qualified to be here. Plus, it's pretty obvious you want to be here too," Anais nudged him on the side.
"Yeah…" Winn wasn't going to outright admit the D.E.O. would be a working dream for him. Whether he admitted it or not, it was obvious for Anais.

When Arun was finally released, he made a direct demand to go out and eat. Apparently, what the D.E.O. served wasn't as great as one would think. Anais laughed but didn't protest to some tasty lunch.
"We can do whatever you want but I just can't get home until eleven," Anais warned Arun after they walked into the restaurant Arun chose. He apparently had a taste for Italian. "My roommate Kara has a hot date tonight."
"You and Supergirl room together?" Arun was immediately shushed by Anais, even though no one actually heard his question. He raised an eyebrow at her, clearly confused on her rudeness. "What?"
"You can't just say stuff like that out in the open."
"Why? It's not like any of the humans can actually hear us."
"Doesn't matter," Anais frowned.
Arun left it at that and picked up the menu. "What do you feel like having? It's on me, by the way."
"I really love pasta so a chicken alfredo would be delicious," Anais then lowered the menu, revealing a smile on her face. "And thanks for the invite. Next time it's on me."
Arun smiled back. "Don't worry about it. On Solaris, it's customary for the men to pay for the meals."
"Ah, chivalry and tradition - that's not new," Anais playfully rolled her eyes.
"Oh no, Solaris is nothing like...Earth," Arun's brief condescension didn't go unnoticed by the blonde. "Solaris was beautiful in its time. It was always bright and sunny. People were always elegant and there was order."
"Order?"
"Yes, you know, classes? We didn't have to mingle with anyone outside our social class."
"Aha," Anais scrunched her face behind her menu. "Kinda sounds boring."
"What?" Arun sounded offended but Anais wasn't going to keep her opinions to herself just for fear of upsetting him.
"Well, it sounds like a boring, rich place. Don't get me wrong, being rich is probably fun but all the snootiness that comes with it?"
Arun was frowning when Anais put down her menu. "You don't understand. When we can, I'll show you images of Solaris. You'll change your mind in a snap."
"Okay," Anais chuckled.
A young waitress stopped by their table to get their order. Arun ended up ordering on behalf of Anais - which she was a bit surprised with since she was very capable of doing that on her own - then ordered for him afterwards. While they waited for their meals, Arun talked about himself - and a bit of Solaris - for Anais.
As it turned out, Arun was more traditional in that he didn't really mingle with humans except for when he worked. Survival, basically. He viewed humans as a necessity to survive so he kept his interactions civil and short. Anais thought it weird that after living on Earth for ten years, he still kept that type of mentality.
"On Solaris, I was part of a high class so I was just raised with different perspectives," he said with a careless shrug. "Your family was one of them, by the way. The Mjorklands were known for their fine weaving skills. They made the finest clothing on the planet."
"So we were fashion designers?" Anais' joke was met with another frown. She ultimately stopped laughing when he wouldn't lighten up. "My mother never mentioned it."
"Irais should have told you about your history," Arun said quietly, though Anais swore he seemed more upset than she was about the matter.
"She just answered what I would ask. And most of that time was spent in hiding and being absolutely quiet."
"Sorry," Arun apologized. As the waitress came back with their meals, Anais took her turn to talk more about her background.
"My mother was murdered by humans - my father's family, actually - and after the DEO found me, two of the government's employees adopted me," Anais smiled at the thought of her adoptive parents. "They're good people. I love them."
"I'm sorry about Irais," Arun honestly meant it. "But...what was she thinking mingling with humans? Procreating was already a…"
Anais raised an eyebrow, an expression of incredulity flashing across her face. "I'd be careful how you finish that sentence since it's pertaining to me."
"No - I didn't mean it like that!" Arun went wide-eyed once he realized she was right. "It's just...Solaris had a strict rule about procreating with another species. We had these other species sometimes tour on our planet and...well, sometimes they got our people to give them a second look. It's just not right. I mean, look at the consequences you have. Your father never accepted you and his family killed your mother. You yourself only have half of a Solista's abilities."
"And I'm fine with the abilities I have," Anais said calmly despite feeling insulted in about ten different ways.
"I...I just wish that you could have everything you were supposed to have," Arun said, sighing.
Anais grabbed her fork and practically stabbed her pasta with it. She understood what Arun was trying to say and maybe in a way he was right. There were powers that she would never get to experience.
'Hang on, we're hearing of a possible explosion aboard the Venture…'
Anais looked up to the television hanging against the wall. "The Venture…"
"Yeah, humans wanting to reach space," Arun laughed to himself, missing Anais roll her eyes at him.
'Here's all we know at this time. There are over 200 people aboard the craft and the ship itself seems to be propelling down to Earth…'
"Oh my God," Anais dropped her fork on her plate.
'There are no further details, but keep it right here, and we'll continue to bring you the very latest. We can only hope wherever Supergirl and Solar are, we pray they're watching this.'
"I have to go!"
"What? Where!?" Arun scowled as Anais jumped up from her chair. "They'll take care of it!"
Anais was already out the door when he said that. She took off in her speedy run down the streets, picking up her suit on the way, then took off into the sky. She already saw the red cape of her partner and smiled in relief. Supergirl felt the weight of the craft lessen and glanced to see Solar right beside her pushing against the craft's front.
"Good timing!" Supergirl exclaimed.
"What the heck happened!?" Solar groaned as the ship continued to push against their collective force.
Suddenly, they felt a third force join theirs. Supergirl recognized the similar red cape of her cousin and beamed.
"...no frikin way!" Solar was the first to exclaim after seeing Superman smile at them from behind the ship. He breathed an icy air into the engines to force a shut down of its energy.
Between the three aliens, they were able to safely bring the craft into a landing just outside the city.
"That was awesome!" Supergirl laughed when she got to hug her cousin.
Solar practically ripped her away from Superman to have her turn. "Hi! I'm Solar! I love your work!"
Superman laughed at the two women. "Nice to meet you, Solar. I'm a fan of your debut."
Solar screeched and turned to Supergirl. "I really like him!"
"Way to go!" they heard a little girl's voice not too far. The three aliens turned to see a family biking down the road.
The boy next to her pointed at the aliens. "Look, it's Superman!"
"I used to change his diapers," Supergirl felt the need to reveal, making Superman throw her a sharp glance while the boy nearly lost it.
"Uh, not exactly sure you have to tell them that," he whispered but Kara giggled.
"No, I think I really do."
"I think she did," Solar agreed with her own laugh.

When Supergirl and Solar brought Superman back to the DEO, there was a whole crowd awaiting to see the Man of Steel. Of course, the man had to stop and greet every employee in the room.
Alex noticed J'onn's grim face as Superman made his way down the crowd. "You okay?"
"Yeah."
"Is...is Superman's appearance a problem?"
"...no."
Alex raised an eyebrow at J'onn but he didn't say anything afterwards. Instead, she heard Winn's squeak beside her.
"Oh. He's coming toward me…" he tried to straighten himself out just as Superman walked up to him.
"Winn, this is my cousin, Superman," Kara almost laughed at his wide-eyed face.
"Hi. I have a million questions," Winn's words were tumbling out of his mouth before he could realize what he was even saying. "When Lex Luthor set off the earthquake in California, did you gauge the focal depth with your X-ray vision?"
"Winn, please breathe," Anais honestly pleaded for him to take a break. He seemed purple around the edges of his face.
"Alex. It's good to see you," Superman hugged Alex next. So far, she seemed like the only one not completely awed by his appearance.
"You, too."
"Kara told me Jeremiah may be alive. And you know your father means a lot to me, so...if there's anything I can do…"
"Thank you, Clark," Alex took his request to heart.
Superman finally met J'onn's hard look and matched expressions with him. "J'onn." Even his tone had flattened.
"Superman. Nice to see you again."
"Oh, don't worry. I won't be staying long."
"Uh, I just invited Superman to visit our mystery guest," Kara jumped into the conversation - if it even qualified as a conversation - before they argued or something along those lines. "Solar, how about you lead the way?"
Anais saw Kara's intentions and of course helped in what she could. "Right this way." And on the way, she grabbed Winn so he could finish asking those questions she knew he was just dying to ask.

The unconscious man remained just that: unconscious. There didn't seem to be any progress in his state, nor a decrease, but it was difficult to track when they couldn't get any vitals. His hard skin made it far more challenging to do the simplest of things.
"He landed on Earth last night in a Kryptonian pod. We don't know who he is," Anais explained after leading Superman into the room.
"Did you try using a Quantum scan to determine his age?"
"First thing we did," Winn answered since Anais had gotten lost on the point.
"And Kara X-ray-visioned him for foreign objects, like a cybernetic data core?"
There, both Anais and Winn matched in nervous smiles. "She was just going to do that today…" Anais laughed and thanked God that Kara was coming in at that moment. "Kara, remember how you said you were going to use your x-ray vision to see if this guy had any foreign objects?"
Kara's eyebrows raised together, knowing exactly where that came from "Of course I was!" she released a small laugh. "What kind of person would I be if I forgot to do that…"
Superman entertained the show for another minute before very calmly advising, "You should probably go and do that."
"Yeah, okay," Kara x-ray visioned the stranger but saw nothing out of the ordinary. "No, nothing."
There was a ping on the tablet Winn had carried in with him. "Oh, hey, my handy translator just finished decrypting the pod's data log. Now, it seems sleeping beauty on his journey from Krypton passed through something called the Segara Beyal." He showcased his tablet for the three to see an image of a constellation.
"The Well of Stars," Kara recognized first. "My father took me there once. Time doesn't pass there."
"So that's why he's still so young?" Anais gazed down at the unconscious man and wondered what his story was.
"Oh, hey, speaking of age, I've been meaning to ask…" Winn lowered his tablet and garnered a wide, nervous smile. "Superman, you're 12 years older than Kara, right? 'Cause you do not look it."
Superman smiled. "Kryptonians age at a much slower rate here on Earth."
"You look fantastic…"
"When you're finished, we have something more important to talk about," Alex's appearance made the group divert their attention to her.
"Like what?" asked Kara.
"The Venture. The company behind the Venture said there was an explosion when the ship reached low orbit insertion."
"So?"
"Well, if something like that was gonna go wrong it would've happened earlier in the flight."
"The Venture was built here in National City, right?" Anais waited for the others to confirm her question. "Well, then somebody has to know something. That would include on who would gain the most if this craft had actually burned up." The others started agreeing with her and so she added, "And, I don't know, maybe a mild-mannered reporter could make some inquiries while he's here in National City. Perfect cover up."
"The DEO is going to take a very interested look too," Alex promised the man in question.
"Great," Kara clapped a hand on her cousin's shoulder. "You can work out of Catco. Just steer clear of Ms. Grant. She's been in a mood."
"Don't worry, I've got some sway with Cat Grant," Superman promised in a strangely certain way.

While Kara returned to CatCo. with her cousin, Clark, Anais decided to stay back at the DEO. She couldn't really see herself returning to Arun just yet. In fact, while she was staying clear of him, she wasn't exactly staying away from him.
"Anais, what are you doing?" Winn's voice startled her into almost dropping the tablet she'd swiped from some poor clueless employee. She was still in the room where the unconscious man remained, making her presence even more suspicious.
"Just...playing Candy Crush?" Her convincing face wasn't really convincing.
Winn raised an eyebrow at her as he further walked into the room. "Really? Cos it seems-" as he moved, Anais purposely slipped the tablet behind her back, "-like you're trying to hide something." And when he tried reaching for the tablet behind her, she jerked to the side with the biggest smile on her face. "Anna?"
Winn stepped back with his arms crossed over his chest. "I could try to take that tablet-"
"But you would fail since I am a speedster."
"Or I could call J'onn?"
Anais' face dropped at the threat. "You wouldn't…"
"I would."
Anais groaned and slowly pulled the tablet to her front. "I liked you a lot before this moment, Winn."
"Yeah, most women don't like me anyways so I'm okay with this."
"I wasn't doing anything bad, I was just...researching."
"About what?"
"Arun…"
Winn paused for a second and looked at her curiously. "Why would you do that? I thought you were going to get to know him today."
"I did, and...while I only heard a little about him, it's...not the best." Anais hated to admit that someone she'd been so excited for was letting her down in the worst way.
"Why? Did he do something? Does the DEO need to go pick him up?" Winn was already turning to leave when Anais grabbed onto his arm.
"No! It's nothing like that," she sighed. "He just kind of sounded...smug, you know? It sounded like he thought he was better than the humans."
"Well," Winn swayed his head, "He is super strong, can fly, has telepathic abilities, has solar powers, is a speedster...yeah, I think he has the makings of someone superior to us."
"Having super powers doesn't make you better than anyone else, Winn," Anais said softly. "Arun can have all that but if he has an ugly personality, then he's the worst of the worst."
"C'mon, Anais, you met him for like what? An hour? You can't know everything about someone in one hour."
"I know, that's why I was just looking him up," Anais raised the tablet. "I wanted to know what Arun did in the community."
"And what came up?"
"Um, just what he said he did. He runs an art shop, does paintings every now and then. He seems like a good man-"
"Then why don't you give him the benefit of the doubt and just get to know him a little more? Maybe there's some qualities that make him a good friend. And listen, if he does turn out to be the worst then by all means kick his ass and bring him back to the DEO."
Anais laughed. "I will."
"Hey," Alex stopped by and poked her head into the room. "We might have found something about the Venture accident."
Both Anais and Winn followed Alex into the main room where they had several photos on the screen.
"Ooh, that's Lex Luthor!" Winn immediately recognized the well known criminal of Metropolis.
"Is it?" Anais knew of Lex, but not what he looked like.
"So we did digging and it turns out that there was one passenger who had a seat booked on the Venture but mysteriously didn't show up last-minute," Alex indicated one of the employees to zoom in on the picture of the trio. "Lena Luthor."
The woman in question was a black haired woman with stark blue eyes. She was smiling at the viewer while Lex and an older woman - their mother - was more or less straight faced.
"Lex's sister," Winn realized. "But Lex can't be involved in this. He's in prison thanks to Superman."
"So we're thinking this time it's Lena," Alex said the obvious but Anais shook her head in disagreement.
"Wait a minute, we're going to assume she concocted this whole thing just because she's Lex Luthor's sister?" Both Alex and Winn stared at Anais with faces screaming 'duh!' at her. Anais set her hands on her hips, extremely disappointed in them. "Guys! That's just wrong!"
"You know what's wrong? All the trouble the Luthors have caused," J'onn joined them and, by the looks of it, to help Alex and Winn.
"Lex Luthor," Anais thought she was correcting them. "Superman fought Lex Luthor, not Lena Luthor. It's prejudicial."
"Look, Anna-"
Anais pointed her index finger at Winn. "If you're going to use that nickname it will not be for prejudicial stuff like this."
"Lena Luthor is Lex Luthor's sister. The entire family is rotten to the core," J'onn said but Anais still wasn't buying it.
"Are there any records of Lena ever being involved in her brother's schemes?" Judging by the silence from the trio, Anais assumed the answer was a big fat no. "Then how can you be sure Lena did this?"
"Kara and Clark are going to visit her right now to get some answers. She just moved to National City so it'll be fast," Alex thought that would help Anais but it just did the opposite.
"You mean send the man who probably already assumes Lena is guilty?" Anais was sure that Clark would just see Lena as another Lex copy. Kara was always more open minded and could probably see more than Lex. Still, Anais felt like she needed to be the unbiased party for Lena's sake. "I'm going to join them."
"What for?" Winn asked.
"To make sure we all stay in line," she turned to leave.
~ 0 ~
Lena Luthor may have a reputation thanks to her older brother, Lex Luthor, but as she led Anais, Kara and Clark into her office she showed nothing but politeness and openness.
"There's a perfectly reasonable explanation for why I wasn't aboard the Venture yesterday." Lena dropped her bag over her desk and sat down to face the three visitors. "There was an emergency regarding the planning for a ceremony I'm holding tomorrow. I'm renaming my family's company, and I had to cancel."
"Ah, lucky," Clark's tone was laced with disbelief, but even that didn't make Lena falter.
Lena, in fact, chuckled. "Lucky is Superman saving the day." Her smile widened when she saw Clark blink in surprise. "Not something one expects a Luthor to say, right?"
"And Supergirl was there, too," Kara said just before clearing her throat to add in an aura of innocence. "Along with Solar."
Lena then turned her attention to her and Anais. She looked them over but didn't necessarily see any familiar features she recognized from the Daily Planet. "And who are you exactly?"
"Um... I'm Kara Danvers," Kara answered with a nervous, tight-lipped smile.
"Anais Allen," went the second blonde in a much more carefree manner. "We're from CatCo magazine."
Lena raised an eyebrow at the two women as a smile spread across her face. "It's a publication not known for its hard-hitting journalism. More like 'high-waisted jeans: yes or no?'"
Kara and Anais exchanged glances with each other before Kara replied, "We're just tagging along today."
"Right. Can we just speed this interview along?" Lena gazed at the three of them with a resignation they didn't understand until she spoke again. "Just ask me what you want to ask, Mr. Kent. Did I have anything to do with the Venture explosion?"
"Did you?" Clark bluntly asked.
Anais sent him a disapproving glance but Lena had been the one to ask in the first place. Even then, Lena just smiled again. "You wouldn't be asking me if my last name was Smith." Her polite sarcasm was surprisingly restrained. Not everyone could remain so put together when being accused with attempted homicide.
"Ah, but it's not," Clark went on like nothing. "It's Luthor."
"Some steel under that Kansas wheat," Lena took in a breath and sighed. "It wasn't always. I was adopted when I was four. And the person who made me feel most welcome in the family was Lex. He made me proud to be a Luthor. And then he went on his reign of terror in Metropolis." She paused and looked away from the three, growing distant the more she recollected the path her brother took on. "Declared war on Superman. Committed unspeakable crimes. When Superman put Lex in jail, I vowed to take back my family's company. To rename it L-Corp." The mention of her company's new name was enough to pull her back to the present. "Make it a force for good. I'm just a woman trying to make a name for herself outside of her family. Can you understand that?"
"Yes, we can," Anais was the one to answer her. "We can really understand that, Miss Luthor." She understood perfectly what Lena was trying to do because she herself was attempting to do the same thing. Sure, her family wasn't evil but the Allens were still a high class family surrounded by governmental science and laboratories. Anais moved to National City in order to make something out of herself on her own. She felt a terrible churn of her stomach due to the guilt of coming for Lena Luthor just for trying to do something good.
"I know why you're here," Lena raised her hands to show she was still acting in good faith. "Because a subsidiary of my company made the part that exploded on the Venture." She got up from her chair and went to a set of drawers on the side of the room, missing when both Kara and Clark x-rayed her entire office. Anais inwardly sighed but knew it was standard procedure. When Lena turned back, she held a USB in hand. "This drive contains all the information we have on the oscillator. I hope it helps you in your investigation." She promptly handed the USB to Clark. "Thank you. Give me a chance, Mr. Kent. I'm here for a fresh start. Let me have one."
"We will," Anais reassured her and was the first to move towards the door.
Once out in the safety of the streets, the three discussed their brief visit.
"I didn't see anything when I X-ray-visioned the room," Clark said as he safely tucked away the USB into his pocket.
"Yeah, me neither," Kara agreed. "What do you think?"
"I've learned through hard experience not to believe anything a Luthor says."
"Yeah, that right there is nothing but prejudicial," Anais turned on both of them, forcing them to stop walking.
"You clearly are new to this life but trust me when I tell you that I know all about Luthors," Clark said, believing to have Kara on her side so he was mighty surprised when Kara sighed beside him.
"Yeah, I know I'm not a reporter or anything, but I kinda believed her."
"And until we find evidence that says otherwise, there's no reason why we shouldn't," Anais grinned at Kara for the support she unintentionally gave for their side. "And, just to cater to both sides, I'll personally keep an eye on Lena from afar."
Clark didn't seem so on board with that but his cellphone rang. "It's Lois," he told Kara and stepped a bit away to answer.
"Shouldn't you be getting back to Arun?" Kara quietly asked Anais once they were alone. "Winn mentioned you seemed a little bit down after your lunch. Was it because you left to help Clark and I with the Venture?"
"No, actually...it was...just some things he said during our lunch," Anais shook her head. She didn't want to keep dwelling on something she couldn't really judge Arun on yet. "I do have to talk to him so, you know, I can get to know him better. Maybe I'm just overreacting, I don't know. What about you and James, though? He couldn't have been too happy about your date being interrupted?"
"Uum…" Kara gave a tilt of her head, "It feels…"
"Kara?"
Kara released a big sigh. "Honestly, it feels like it's a lot more difficult than it should be. I'm trying to juggle being Supergirl and this new job Cat is offering and then when I think about James and dating, I…" she shook her head, making a hand gesture that even she didn't know what she meant. "The spark that I felt before...it's not there anymore."
Anais thought about something but she decided that she wouldn't burden Kara with a thought like that, at least not until Kara gave signs that she was already thinking about it. "Maybe you need to take one thing at a time," she offered instead. "That job offer Cat gave you...that's time delicate so you might want to start with that."
Kara chuckled. "Yeah, maybe so."
"Listen, um, I hadn't mentioned it before but I'm going to talk to Cat as Solar. I feel like it's time," Anais nodded with certainty. She delayed it enough and poor James got all the wrap for it.
"You sure that's what you want to do?"
"Yes, absolutely. It's time she got off James' back for that and it's time for me to start sharing with the city," Anais smiled. She noticed Clark coming back to them and decided to take her leave so the two cousins could spend more time together. "I'll be on the lookout for Lena like I promised."
"Be careful," Clark honestly warned her.
"I'm not bulletproof but I am literally faster than the speed of light," Anais smirked proudly and turned to leave.

Alex gripped the folder between her fingers as she walked into the room J'onn was in. "I know why you and Superman aren't the best of friends," she just came out with it. She was sure if she thought about it she would turn around and leave. This wasn't something that could be ignored. "Operation Emerald." She let the file drop on the table beside them and waited to see J'onn's reaction.
The man was stoic but ultimately he did have to wonder. "How did you find out about that?"
"I cross-referenced your personnel file with Superman," Alex crossed her arms and hoped that this would be enough to elicit some type of explanation directly from him instead of getting it all from paper.
It seemed like she was on the right track.
"Back when I first took over the DEO, we got a report about a meteorite coming down in the desert. Superman would work with us back then, so we both headed out to investigate. We got there, it was dark and but I could see something down in the crater. Green, glowing like an emerald. It didn't affect me, but Superman got down there, he started heaving. Passed out."
Alex nodded with understanding. "It was Kryptonite."
"I named it that," J'onn admitted. "Superman wanted to destroy it all."
"But you kept it," Alex didn't mean that as an accusation of some horrible secret he harbored but even she was reluctant to keep such a dangerous object around.
"He was not the only Kryptonian out there, Alex. Their powers are limitless. Now we have a way to protect ourselves from them."
"Except "them" now includes my sister."
"Guys, we may have a problem," Winn made an quick stride into the room, nonethewiser of the tersed conversation just had. "I've been going over the data from Luthor Corp. Now, the oscillator that exploded on the Venture, it was located underneath the main passenger cabin, right?" He wasn't necessarily waiting for either Alex nor J'onn to answer. He just kept going. "In fact, it was housed under seat 23B. And according to the manifest, guess who was supposed to be sitting in seat 23B?" He used his tablet to show them the visual of venture's seating arrangement. "Lena Luthor."
"Lena Luthor wasn't behind the explosion. She was the target," J'onn realized along with Alex. It meant they were dealing with the worst of the Luthors.

If the DEO wanted a confirmation that Lex Luthor was trying to murder his baby sister, they got it only one hour after making the first realization. Lena had been almost killed while attempting to fly in a helicopter, but thanks to Solar, Supergirl and Superman she lived to see another day.
Now at the DEO, the team was attempting to analyze a piece of the drone they'd managed to salvage. Winn was the closest, and the most eager, to see just what it was made up.
"This thing is like state-of-the-state-of-the-art! Kind of looks like something my dad might have built in one of his more murdery moments!"
"His what now?" Anais repeated in confusion.
"Nothing," Winn said without thinking. Yes, the world already knew just who his father was but if he could save one mind from knowing a terrible truth, then he was glad it could be Anais.
"We've acquired a partial print from the wreckage," Alex called from the controls. She had Agent Velasquez pulling up a mugshot of the man Anais, Kara and Clark fought earlier. "John Corben. International assassin for hire. He's been linked to Intergang, Kasnian terrorists, and the genocide in Corto Maltese. If you want somebody high-profile killed, this is the guy to hire. But who would want Lena Luthor dead?"
"Hey, where's Kara?" Winn asked after realizing they were short one blonde in the room.
"She, uh, is talking to James," Anais answered, sharing a knowing look with Alex. They wondered when poor Kara would get her thoughts straight. "And where's J'onn exactly? And Clark?"
"Also...talking," Alex knew the irony of the situation.
"Is everyone suddenly talking?" Winn paused just to wonder if he had anyone to talk to. Nope. He was lonely. Anais laughed at his expression, pulling him out of his momentary pensive state. "I have people to talk to," the man argued weakly.
"Didn't your girlfriend turn evil?" Alex raised an eyebrow at him. Winn was frankly offended they would throw that back at him.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure me, Kara and my young adoptive dad kicked her ass," Anais joining in didn't make him feel any better.
Winn opened his mouth but no words came to mind. Still, as he pointed between them something eventually came out. "You both...are mean."
Alex formed a small 'o' with her mouth. "Great comeback. You're almost as good as Kara."
"Well, while this is lovely, I'm going to see if I can convince Miss Luthor to postpone that renaming ceremony." Anais figured it was the best thing Lena could do but she had to see if Lena would be willing to even do it. She seemed really set on the ceremony when they visited her at L-Corp.
~0~
Lena was an exceptionally stubborn woman, Anais came to discover. While Lena went around the public event checking for any last minute changes or mending, Anais trailed after her giving her all the reasons why it would be better to postpone the event.
"I'm sorry, Miss…?" Lena briefly stopped her fast paced walking to look at Anais.
"It's just Anais," the blonde waved off with her free hand. The other hand rested over her camera that was slung around her neck. "And I just really think it's a big risk you're taking continuing on with this event when your brother is...well…"
"Trying to kill me?" Lena finished with no apparent hesitation. It almost made Anais feel sorry for the woman. It seemed like Lena was quite accustomed to aggressive family problems.
"Yeah…"
Lena seemed ready to talk but suddenly looked out to the park. She pursed her red lips together and nodded up ahead. "Do you see how many people showed up?"
Anais didn't understand but she looked over and shrugged. "Well, to be honest, not a lot." Lena laughed softly, knowing that Anais was trying to be polite in her answer.
"My brother's serving 32 consecutive life sentences for some awful things, and now when people think of me or the company...all they see is Lex's madness," she sighed and brought a hand to her forehead, gently rubbing her fingers over her skin. "I'm trying to make a life of my own and that includes this company that I know can be something good to the public."
"I know that, believe me," Anais was quick to say. "I've lived with my parents up until last month. This is the first time I'm on my own, in a new city...with my first job ever." She raised her camera a bit, making Lena smile.
"Then you should understand why I have to do this," Lena started walking towards the platform. "I can't start my life if I succumb to my brother's threats."
Anais had stopped following when Lena reached the platform and decided to mingle instead nearby. She was under the guise of a job - which would end up working to her benefit later when she showed Cat the pictures of the ceremony - but was still going to keep a close eye on Lena. And she knew Alex was nearby as well, keeping an eye on any strangers coming by.
When Lena began to address the crowd, Anais started snapping pictures. She had to admit Lena Luthor had no bad angles because every shot Anais took of her seemed to be perfect.
However, midway through Lena's speech, a laser shot right over Lena and hit a statue instead. It was enough to cause panic amongst the crowd. A couple more lasers shot through and struck a nearby building. Anais forgone her camera - in a safe spot of course - then returned as Solar. She was about to go towards the building when she got word of Supergirl and her cousin.
They would take care of the building so Solar could get the people around them to safety. One by one, she sped the people away but when it came to find the actual target, Solar had to actually fly into the air. She could hear Alex calling out the assassin and flew downwards.
Her eyes glowed gold as she fired her laser and caught the man's back. He screamed in pain when he felt the burn on his skin, but the man didn't catch a break because in the next moment Lena Luthor had made her mark with a bullet. It caught him near the clavicle and set him down.
"Badass," Solar said in utter awe.
"If you're done crushing, Miss Solar, we request that you bring the man back to the DEO," she heard Winn's voice over the comms.
Solar playfully rolled her eyes but did as told and super sped the assassin back to the DEO before he could even process.

"You did what now?" Alex gaped at both Anais and Winn the next day. Her dark eyes flickered between the two like a mother who was getting ready to scold her children.
"I asked him to," Anais raised a hand, making sure that everyone who knew would understand that she'd made the call. "I mean, I had some good shots of Lena at her ceremony but I thought the one where she took Corben down would be an extra help in her endeavor to show people she was different from her brothers-"
Alex raised a hand to stop the alien. "You hacked into a public street camera for a picture of Lena?"
"I asked Winn and he was really nice enough to do it-" Anais quickly looked at Winn with a big smile, "-and I have to say thanks again."
"It was nothing," Winn said before realizing Alex was now glaring his way. "O-or was it?" he made a face. "Does this at all jeopardize my new job at the DEO?"
Anais gasped, clapping one hand over her mouth. "Oh my God, does it? I-I didn't mean to - I just wanted to help Lena out. I sympathize with her, that's all."
Because Alex knew Anais was telling the truth, she decided to go easy and avoid them the trouble of being confronted by J'onn. "Our system is not meant to take pictures of people for magazine articles. Don't do that again, either of you." Her moving pointing finger was warning enough for the two in question.
"Got it!" the two chorused.
They waited until Alex left to be able to breath with relief.
"Winn, I am so sorry for that," Anais turned to the man afterwards. "I didn't even consider what would happen...I just thought it would help Lena."
"And it did," Winn said. They had both seen the article Clark had written about Lena that used some of Anais' pictures - which Cat would never know that she had given to the Daily Planet - and thought it was nice that Lena was getting a fair chance to start over.
"Congrats about your new job, by the way," Anais said once things cooled down. They headed for the hallway, intending on returning to the main room. "Sure it's gonna be more fun than working at CatCo."
"Definitely," Winn practically beamed at the thought of all the 'cool aliens' he'd get to see now that he was officially part of the DEO team. "Oh hey, did you ever get back to Arun?"
"No," Anais shook her head, feeling a little guilty she was purposely avoiding that subject.
"Don't you think you should do that?"
"Um, tomorrow," Anais said, though was only half sure of it. "Today I have something else planned."
"Like what?"
"...I've got a date with Cat Grant."
~ 0 ~
Cat was more than prepared for the interview James Olsen had finally set up for (in her mind) her and Solar. It was about damn time, she thought. This was the last thing she needed in her 'bucket list' to feel like she could...move on.
Overlooking the balcony, Cat saw the familiar gold streak zipping down the street. She stepped back when the streak started running up the building. With Solar's arrival, the media queen stumbled back from the force of wind.
"Miss Grant," Solar smiled widely. She had to admit she was fairly excited to do this interview. Kara had warned her that Cat was no joke when it came to interviews but it didn't scare Solar. She just wanted people to finally get an idea of who she was.
Cat got over her initial surprise fairly fast. She grabbed the recorder she left on the table and made a gesture that she wanted to turn it on. Solar gave her the nod to go for it.
"Curious, do you prefer running or flying?" Cat pointed out the balcony. "Because we've seen you do both…"
"Because I'm a speedster, I go about the same speed whether it's running or flying...but I like to run. It gives me some exercise," Solar made the motion of someone jogging.
"So, you're not of the same place as Supergirl nor Superman?"
"Nope," Solar popped the 'p' in that word. "I'm actually a unique case for my people. I am half human and half alien. A hybrid, if you will."
"Your half human?" Cat blinked in surprise. Solar nodded and allowed Cat to say her assumptions out loud. "One of your parents is human then...amazing…"
"They're both gone," Solar said before Cat started on a crusade to fish out the two. "It's just me and, um, that man that you saw the last time?"
"Name?"
"He hasn't picked one. Actually, I don't know if he's joining us, but he's not a danger to the public."
"So where are you from, then? I mean the alien part of you, anyways."
Solar smiled for a moment. "I'm from a planet called Solaris. My people are natural speedsters and can wield the sun's powers."
"Do you know if there are any more of them on this planet?"
"No, not really."
"And you…" Cat moved forwards, startling Solar for a second. Cat's eyes were scrutinizing the alien up and down. At one point, she started to circle Solar. "Where did you come from? I mean, you showed up only a bit after Supergirl. Where've you been?"
"Training," Solar could honestly say. "Because I'm half human, I developed my powers a lot later than my people typically do."
"And is that why you showed up, now? Because you were done training?"
"Yes, and no," Solar sighed. "Look, I'm not here to be painted as a hero with a tragic backstory, nor a wannabe Supergirl. I'm here because of who I am. I am Solar, half human and half alien. I was born on this planet," she pointed her index finger down, "So this is my home. You are my people too and I want to help. I want to do my part in the community."
"A bit cliche…" Cat's lips twitched into a smirk.
"But it's the truth and there's nothing to be ashamed of," Solar shrugged. "That's why I came to you, to tell you and your readers that I am here whenever I am needed and wanted." She tilted her head when another idea popped into her head. "Oh, right, and for you to lay off James. Don't threaten his job to get more interviews, please."
Cat's smirk fully developed. "Got your attention, didn't it?"
Solar playfully shook her head. "This interview is now over. Have a good night, Miss Grant." She gave a mock salute with her two fingers before rising into the air. She would definitely be looking forwards to reading Cat's article.

“I Love You, You Idiot”
@sunday-romance tagged me in a prompt thing and I decided to roll with it. (its longer than its supposed to be but oh well)
Kara/Lena; 1.5k words
AO3 link in reblog
Kara knew she had too much to drink. She knew she had too much to drink, but she didn’t care. It wasn’t every night she let herself take part in the only alcohol strong enough to actually get her drunk.
Tonight was special. She was celebrating the night before…
The night before…
Kara furrowed her brows and brought the beer to her lips, taking a slow sip. What was she celebrating? Looking around the alien bar, she spotted Alex and Maggie neck to neck in an intense game of pool, and James and Winn having a little too much fun on the karaoke machine.
She was celebrating with her friends, that much was clear.
After thanking M’gann for her drinks, Kara hopped from her stool and stumbled away from the bar to Alex, who leaned over the pool table and reared back her stick for a clean shot.
“Alex.”
Jerking, Alex hit the cue ball off center, sending it rolling pathetically away from her intended target.“Jesus, Kara, wear a bell,” she said, handing a smug Maggie the pool stick.
“Sorry, but why exactly are we here?”
Alex raised an eyebrow and seized the beer from Kara’s grasp. “I think that's enough drinking for one night.”
Kara groaned in protest, arms outstretched and reaching for the bottle, opening and closing her hands in a grabby motion. “Alex,” she whined.
Maggie swiped the bottle from Alex’s hand and returned it back to a now smiling Kara. “C’mon Alex, it's her last night of freedom.”
“Yea, Alex, it's my last night of freedom,” Kara echoed, taking a hearty drink. Maggie’s words sank into her alcohol infused brain. Eyes growing comically wide, Kara asked, “Freedom from what exactly? Will I be captured tomorrow?”
“Of course not Kara, you’re getting-”
“Kidnapped,” Maggie cut in, earning herself a swift jab to the ribs. “What? It would be cruel to lie.” She grinned a shit eating grin.
Kara slumped into the nearest chair, devastation falling over her. What was she supposed to do with that information? She buried her face in her hands, images of Lena filling her mind.
Lena.
“I have to propose to Lena.” Kara stood with newfound determination, setting her beer down on the table next to her. “If it’s my last night of freedom, I must make it count.”
Alex shook her head. “Definitely too much beer.” She grasped Kara’s shoulders. “Tomorrow you-”
“Will have no time to propose,” Maggie cut in once more. “You must do it tonight.” Another jab to the ribs. Clutching her stomach, Maggie muttered, “Worth it.”
Kara nodded solemnly. “I must make my last few hours worth it.” Slinging her jacket over her shoulders, Kara headed for the door. “I need to get to Lena as soon as possible.”
She was halfway out the door and ready to take flight when Alex grabbed her arm. “No drinking and flying. We’ll get a taxi.”
Maggie whooped from behind her, causing a small grin and an eye roll from Alex. Kara couldn’t understand their less than devastated mood. She was going to be Kidnapped tomorrow. Kidnapped.
Kara stormed out of the alleyway, nearly plowing down a couple in the process.
“Watch where you’re going!” The man shouted, waving the fist that wasn’t clasped in his partners hand. A flash of light drew Kara’s attention from his scowling face to the ring that sat snuggly on his left ring finger.
Gasping, she forgot about the couple and turned to Alex. “I need a ring.”
“Kara, I doubt there’s going to be any jewelry stores open so late.” Alex gestured to the night sky above them.
“I can’t propose to Lena without a ring, Alex. It would be…” Kara searched for the right word, waving her arms above her head. “Wrong!” she practically yelled.
“What are you guys doing out here?” James appeared from behind Maggie, Winn followed closely after.
Kara pushed past Alex and Maggie and gripped James’ jacket in desperation. “I need a ring James.”
“A ring?”
“Yes a ring!” Kara burst. “You guys act like proposing with a ring is a tradition from another planet, when I know for a fact it's not!”
James looked to the others for a little more context on what the hell was going on.
“She’s going to propose to Lena,” Maggie supplied with a wink.
“Thank you for pointing out the obvious, Maggie,” Kara said. “Now will someone please help me find a ring?!”
“Didn’t you already…?” Winn looked to Alex. “Didn’t she already…?”
Kara’s eyes snapped to Winn. Using her X-Ray vision, Kara spotted the Ring Pop that she gave him a few hours back. Winn followed her eyes, groaning as she dropped her hand from James’ jacket and rushed forward.
“Kara, no, I was saving that for later,” he said, holding his hands out in front of him.
Kara looked at Winn with her best set of puppy dog eyes yet. “Please Winn? I’ll buy you another. I’ll buy you a million others.”
Winn held his pocket. “Kara I-”
“Please?”
“Oh alright,” Winn broke, retrieving the Ring Pop and reluctantly handing it over. “I’m holding you to your word.”
“Yea, sure,” Kara mumbled, admiring the candy ring. “It’s perfect.”
As Alex hailed a taxi, Maggie threw her arm around Kara’s shoulder, coming to her tippy-toes in the process. “C’mon Gollum, you have a woman waiting for you.”
--
Kara fiddled with the wrapper as the elevator to Lena’s apartment rose. Nerves fluttered around in her stomach as a thousand possibilities played through her head. She turned her Alex, face pale. “What if she says no?”
Alex bit her lip and laid a hand on Kara’s bicep. “She won't, Kara, I’m positive of that.”
“But what if she does?” Kara’s fiddling increased, the crinkling sound reverberating throughout the elevator. “We’ve been through so much, Alex. I can’t stand to lose her.”
Alex’s eyes softened. “You don’t have to worry about that.”
Kara tried to believe her, but as the elevator dinged, and Lena’s door came into sight, Kara’s butterflies only intensified. On shaky legs, she made her way to the door and knocked.
Sam answered, raising a brow at Kara’s nervous state. “Kara? Is everything alright? We weren’t planning on seeing you until-”
“Who’s there?” Lena asked from somewhere inside the apartment.
Kara nearly plowed through Sam and spotted Lena on the couch, sporting a glass of wine and a raised eyebrow.
“Kara?” Lena stood from the couch and crossed the room, taking in the nervous energy. She shot a glance towards the small crowd that trailed in not long after Kara. “Is everything alright?”
Kara brought her free hand to Lena’s face, her nervousness floating away. This was Lena. Lena who she loved more than ever. Lena who she knew loved her back. Her hand dropped as she fell to one knee.
“Kara what are you-?”
“Lena, I am going to be kidnapped tomorrow and this very well be my last chance to say this.”
“What?” Lena looked towards Alex, who mouthed, ‘she’s drunk.’
Taking a deep breath, Kara dived in. “I love you, Lena. I love you so much. I love that when you smile your head tilts to the side just a bit and your nose scrunches up. I love how your tongue pokes out of the corner of your mouth when you’re in deep concentration. I love the way you can command a room with just one raise of your perfectly sculpted eyebrows and how the sunlight catches your eyes and makes the green sparkle.” Kara grabbed Lena’s hand. “I love how you’re so strong despite everything you’ve gone through. I love how you work so hard to make the world a better place, defying everyone's expectations. I love how forgiving you are. Rao, I even love the way you make your tea.” Kara’s eyes darkened, her voice deepening. “And I especially love-”
Alex cleared her throat loudly. “I think she gets the point, Kara.”
“Yes, the point. The point is,” Kara said as she opened the wrapper, her eyes never leaving Lena’s, “I love you so much, and it would be devastating if I didn’t get to call you my wife at least once.” Kara held up the Ring Pop, tears filling her eyes. “Lena Kieran Luthor, owner of CatCo, L-Corp, and my heart, will you marry me? Preferably tonight?”
“Kara.” Lena breathed, her own eyes growing misty. “As I said a few months back, yes, it would be my pleasure to be your wife. Though we will have to wait till tomorrow for the wedding.” She took the Ring Pop from Kara’s outstretched hand and put it on her ring finger where a more appropriate engagement ring sat.
Kara blinked. “A few months ago…?” She looked down at her own ring finger, where she found a ring identical to Lena’s. As her memories came rushing back, Kara stood, her face heating in embarrassment. She rounded on her friends, who burst out laughing, clutching their stomachs. “You guys are...are...are meanies!”
“Go easy on them.” Lena laughed, turning Kara back around so they could be face to face once more. She leaned forward and their lips met in a kiss, momentarily wiping all embarrassment and anger from Kara’s mind. Pulling back and resting her forehead on Kara’s, Lena said, “I love you, you idiot.”
Kara scoffed playfully at the insult before her face broke into a fond smile. “I love you too,” she said before recapturing Lena’s lips, ignoring the chorus of gags from behind them.

Tumblr media
“12:37am”
Looking at the time on your phone, you sighed. You’d been here longer than you had intended to. You didn’t think writing your article would take this long but once you’d started, you hadn’t stopped. To be fair though, if you were home, you would probably be doing the exact same thing.
You often worked late, mainly staying up to all hours of the night working on your articles at home but tonight, you decided to stay at work.
You’d been in Washington, DC all week, interviewing politicians left, right and centre and had only just stepped foot back in the office earlier this afternoon. The majority of your notes were here anyway so there was no point in you going home yet.
You were currently transcribing your interview notes with your former boss, Cat Grant, who was the White House Press Secretary. You were happy for her, she seemed to really suit the job.
Then again, you think she just liked telling people what to do.
Laughing to yourself, you thought of the time when you used to be a junior writer working under Snapper. Miss Grant had given you the role but only because you had seized the opportunity to ask for it.
She always did like people who spoke up for themselves.
It was hard to say you miss her though, considering you saw her almost every other week. But now, her job had been taken over by James Olsen.
You were good friends with him, having known him when he worked at the Daily Planet. When he got the role, you celebrated alongside your other work friends, Kara and Winn.
Kara was now a reporter, a great one you might add, who always seemed to be getting exclusives with Supergirl.
That was funny to you because you knew she was Supergirl.
She didn’t know that you knew but the glasses didn’t exactly conceal much.
She was also very good friends with your new boss.
Lena Luthor.
You smiled at the thought of her. Whilst you were slightly intimidated by her, you did admire her. She was a very powerful and intelligent woman. And the fact that she was beautiful too didn’t hurt your perception of her. She was also the CEO of two major companies. That was impressive.
Glancing over at the large open office, you noticed the light on in the room.
It had to be Jimmy, you thought.
He did tend to stay over quite late; it gave him a reason to be out late when he conducted his Guardian business.
That’s right, you knew his secret identity too. He and Kara weren’t really good at hiding it, you thought.
Shaking your head, you clicked play on your tape recorder and decided to focus on completing the task at hand: finishing your article on the upcoming Presidential Debate so it could published for tomorrow’s evening issue.
Lena lifted her head at the sound of typing. She had been so focused on finishing the cross analysis reports for both CatCo and L-Corp that she hadn’t realised anyone else was in the building. Well, apart from the night team but they operated from a different floor.
She stood up and moved from behind her desk so she could see who the person clacking away on their keyboard was.
She stood in place, crossing her arms when she saw the woman hunched over at her desk, headphones plugged into her ears, typing furiously on her laptop, occasionally stopping to make brief notes on a piece of paper beside her.
Lena frowned. She had made it a personal mission of hers to interact with everyone on the floor so she could get to know her employees better. But she had never spoken to you. And she definitely would have remembered speaking to someone so dedicated to their work that they stayed in the office till this late at night.
She contemplated going over to interrupt you and introduce herself but decided against doing so. She began walking back to her desk before swiftly turning around, changing her mind at the last second.
As a reflection of the extraordinary nature of the Democratic field, New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, better known as AOC, has-
You stopped typing when you felt the soft tap on your shoulder. Removing your headphones, you spoke, “Yeah, Jimmy?”
Turning around, you were shocked to see the person standing above you.
“I hope I have no resemblance to Mr Olsen.” The woman joked.
“I-Miss Luthor! I’m sorry-I thought-I mean. Why are you here so late?” You said, surprised.
The raven-haired woman chuckled as you fumbled over your words.
“Well, if my employees are going to be here this late, then why shouldn’t the following apply to me?” She smirked, accentuating her red-painted lips in the process.
“I believe we haven’t been introduced. I’m Lena Luthor, as you are already aware.”
“Y/N L/N.” You replied, standing up to shake her hand before leaning against your desk.
“It’s nice to meet you, Miss L/N.”
“Call me y/n, Miss Luthor. I feel like a teacher if you call me ‘Miss’.” You corrected, smiling lightly when Miss Luthor laughed. It was a genuine laugh, one that seemed to reach her eyes.
“If we’re ridding ourselves of formalities then please, call me Lena. So what are you doing here so late?”
“I’m finishing my article on the new Presidential nominees. I’ve been in Washington all week with Miss Grant and other politicians so I haven’t had a chance to complete my article.”
“That explains why I hadn’t met you.”
“Yeah, I’m constantly up and down the country, following the political story as it were.”
“I hope I haven’t disturbed you.”
“No, of course not. I was almost finished anyway. So, how are you finding it here?”
“It’s interesting. I’ve never really been involved with journalism. Been on the receiving end of scathing articles about me and my family, yes. But running a media empire, definitely not.”
“I do hate journalists sometimes. They just go with the crowd and join in on hating the new person of the week. People don’t realise that someone can grow up with their family but turn out completely different to them.”
Lena’s eyes narrowed, she appreciated your thoughts but knew there was more truth to it than it just being about her.
“I hope I’m not being too forward here but would you like to grab a drink from the bar down the street?”
You failed to hide your shock. You had only just met Lena and here she was already asking you out, as if she had known you for years.
“Yeah, sure. I would really like that Miss-Lena.” You said, correcting yourself.
***
“She didn’t?!” You gasped, holding your laugh.
“She did! She asked me if I was baptised and I just laughed and said no.” Lena chuckled. “She said she only sleeps with good Catholic girls.”
“Oh my god.” You couldn’t hold your laughter and almost spilt your drink in the process.
You and Lena were currently at the bar, hands nursing your respective drinks. Lena, much to your surprise, was drinking Scotch, and you were drinking Macallan Whiskey.
It was currently 3:30am and you had spent the past few hours chatting away, talking about your failed relationships among other things.
“So, y/n, tell me, what brought you to CatCo?” Lena asked, her chin resting on her hand.
You were about to give her your usual prepared answer that you gave everyone else who asked the question. But whether it was the fact that you had been drinking, or the fact that you had a beautiful woman sitting in front of you, you decided to actually tell her the truth.
“Truth be told, as much as I loved writing, I was actually studying to be an accountant.”
“Really?” Lena said, shocked.
“Yeah, my father always said journalism wasn’t a feasible career choice and pushed me towards accountancy so I could look after the family business. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed maths. It was reliable. There was a right and a wrong. Just plain facts. But, I don’t know.”
Lena listened intently as you continued.
“There was just something about writing. With words, you have this...this power where whatever you write can actually influence someone. It allows someone to see themselves in your work. And that’s what CatCo was to me. I started off at the Daily Planet but I think I knew that it just wasn’t for me and it was the same with James. So Jimmy and I both moved here and never looked back.”
You looked up at Lena when you had finished and saw her brows furrowed.
“I’m sorry. That was such a long explanation.” You began apologising before Lena interrupted you.
“No, don’t be sorry. That was just...very truthful. I appreciate your honesty, y/n.” Lena smiled, her eyes staring deeply at yours.
“Thank you. You’re one of the few people who do.” You added under your breath, as an afterthought, but Lena had heard you.
“What do you mean, y/n?” She reached over to place her hand on your arm and you felt your stomach clench. Such a simple embrace, but so caring.
“My father. Let’s just say he didn’t appreciate my change of career, among other things.” You stated, not really wanting to explain further but when you looked into Lena’s eyes, you saw truth and understanding and the next thing you knew, you were spilling the entire story.
You told her how your mother had died when you were young, leaving just you and your father. You explained how he pushed you to be the best at everything and how any failure was punished. How he controlled your life, preventing you from socialising, and instead, made you focus on work and furthering yourself in accounting. How, when you had told him that not only were you pursuing journalism but that you also were bisexual, he had slapped you and disowned you.
“It was for the best,” you shrugged, “don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful for the fact that he pushed me to always be the best, but I’m glad that we no longer speak.”
“I’m sorry about your father, y/n. He sounds like a horrible person to me.” Lena said, both horrified but also with understanding as she was treated similarly by Lillian.
“Thank you.”
Lena almost screamed then. You had explained how awful your father was and here you were, thanking her for sharing your sentiment and for believing you. She reined in her temper and brushed her thumb against the back of your hand.
“I’m really glad you decided to follow your dream, y/n.”
“Me too.” You smiled softly.
It was getting quite late, well, technically early, so Lena had called her driver and was insistent on dropping you off home.
You were now outside your apartment so you turned to face your boss.
“Thank you, Lena. I really enjoyed tonight.”
You moved to give her a hug and kiss her cheek but when you pulled away, you both sat there, faces inches away from each other.
Her eyes flickered down to your lips for a split second, but you caught it and just stared at her. Before you knew it, her lips were on yours, soft but demanding.
This time when you pulled away, Lena huskily whispered in your ear, “Come home with me.”
You considered the consequences.
She was your boss after all.
Lena placed a gentle kiss on the corner of your mouth and then brushed her thumb against your lip, most likely removing her red lipstick.
“Well?” She breathed out.
Her hand slid across the back of your neck. Sending a hard shiver down your body but not forcing you close to her. That was exactly what you needed to close the distance once again.
You pulled back and murmured “yes” causing Lena to smirk and tell the driver to take you back to hers.
***
You woke up in Lena’s bed, moaning lightly at the feel of Lena’s soft silk sheets against your skin.
You felt arms wrapped around your waist and then slowly remove themselves from you. You turned in Lena’s arms and smiled.
“Hey.”
“Hey, yourself, beautiful.” Lena said, making you blush.
“I’ve been called into work early but you can sleep a little bit longer before you have to go into work.”
“It’s alright. I’ll leave with you. I have to go back to my apartment anyway. But I’ll meet you at work?”
“Sure.” Lena chastely kissed your cheek before you both got ready and left.
***
After Lena dropped you off at home, you showered and got changed. You sat down on your bed and thought about the night you had spent with Lena.
You did have a few doubts because of the fact that she was your boss but she honestly was one of the most honest people you had ever met.
And she was great in bed too. All you would say is that she’s very giving.
You stood up, deciding to make your way into work.
***
Walking onto your floor, the quiet of the lift was immediately eradicated and replaced with the ringing of phones, people typing on laptops and a lot of chatter.
As you made your way to your desk, you saw a familiar blonde sitting in your chair.
“Hey, blondie.”
Turning around, the blonde jumped up and hugged you.
“Y/N! I’ve missed you. I’m so glad you’re back. How was DC?” Kara asked, pushing up her glasses.
“I’ve missed you too, Kara. It was quite good actually. I’ve just been so busy. But I’m going to be staying for at least a month now before I need to travel again, so that’s good.”
“Oh my god, yay. I’m so happy. Hey, you can start coming to game night again now that you’re back.”
“Oh, the iconic game night. How I’ve missed you.” You said dramatically, making you and Kara laugh. “Is it the same old gang?”
“Mostly yeah. Alex and Maggie will be there, as will Winn, James, Sam and Ruby but now Lena comes along.”
At the mention of the latter, a light blush rose to your cheeks, luckily going unnoticed by the superhero.
“Oh that reminds me, Lena wanted to see you. She’s in her office.” Kara said, nodding her head in the direction of the large office now occupied by the business woman.
Giving Kara another hug, you made your way to Lena’s office where the former was sitting on her sofa. Upon seeing you, she gestured for you to sit beside her.
“Y/N, how are you?”
“Well, thanks. And yourself?”
“Very well. Especially after last night.”
Another blush rose to your face but this time, Lena noticed and smirked.
“Do I make you blush, L/N? It’s good to know that I have an effect on you.”
“I really enjoyed last night, Lena. I know that you’re my boss and that it’s not exactly appropriate for us to have such a...personal relationship.”
“I know, y/n. But after last night, I don’t think I can keep my hands off you. You’re a very caring person, y/n, and I really would like to get to know you better. I think we have something between us.” Lena explained, placing her hand on yours.
“I do too. I can feel something between us but I don’t want it to be awkward in the event we don’t work out.” You said, expressing your worries.
“I don’t think it will. But how will we know unless we try?” Lena countered.
“That’s very true. I think you’re right. We’re both adults and we can see where this goes. And last night...Wow. But I do have to tell you one thing about last night.”
Lena raised her brow, trying to hide her concern.
“I’m sorry to tell you, but I’m not baptised.”
Lena burst out laughing causing you to laugh too.
“Oh god,” Lena said, trying to stop herself from laughing.
Once she had, she gave you a sober look, “I know we’re at work but-”
She cupped your cheek to bring you in for a sensual kiss which you happily reciprocated.
Pulling away, a wave of shock hit you as you realised something.
You were dating Lena Luthor.

12 unread messages, 4 voicemails, 2 cold dinners, and 1 missed date. The dimly lit kitchen feels suffocating as the last candle finally burns out. You watch as the wisps of smoke float through the air before fading away. You know, candles are such interesting and versatile objects. They can be used to express a variety of emotions like calm or somberness. These hard wax pillars can soften overtime once a flame is ignited within them, creating a warm glow that surrounds them. However, like all good things, the flame slowly burns out until there’s nothing left to burn, leaving a thin trail of smoke in its wake.
Distracted by your thoughts as you watch the grey swirls fill the air, you don’t notice the arrival of a certain blonde. Before you can lose yourself once again in your thoughts, a voice calls out for you. Turning around, you see your girlfriend standing in front of the balcony door in her Supergirl regalia. You let out a sigh as you turn away from her, choosing to focus on the plate in front of you. The clicking of boots on the hardwood floor grow louder and louder before coming to a stop. A soft hand is gently placed on yours, resting on the dining table. Kara kneels beside you as she pulls your hand towards her, bringing your attention lower to face her. Running a hand through her wind-blown hair, she lets out a heavy sigh. You already know what’s about to happen as you hear the three words you’re beginning to really despise.
“I’m sorry, Y/N.” Kara says, voice filled with guilt.
Shaking your head, you give her a small smile. “Please, stop saying that Kara.”
Taken aback by your response, she’s left at a complete loss for words. You brush a strand of hair out of her face as you continue.
“I know that you’re sorry, Kara, but I’m beginning to think that you’re sorry for a lot more than missing another dinner date.”
“What? What do you mean?”
There’s no way she could be that clueless, right? The painful smile quickly drops from your face as you lock eyes with the crouching woman.
Annoyance seeps into your voice as you speak. “You’re kidding me, right? Do not play oblivious with me, Kara.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Y/N. What do you mean by, ‘I’m sorry for a lot more than missing dinner’?”
“No, I don’t believe you” --you scoff-- “There’s no absolute way in hell you don’t know what you’re doing.”
Kara drops your hand and instantly stands up, getting into a defensive stance.
“We can’t talk about this properly if you won’t tell me what the problem is. So, spit it out, Y/N. What is the problem with me? What do you know about me that I don’t know?”
You quickly stand up, pushing the chair back, and point an accusing finger at her. Frustrated with the whole ordeal, you begin to rant.
“What’s the problem? What’s the problem?! Kara, I can see it in your eyes. Those bright blue eyes that used to look at me in adoration no longer do that. That shine in your eyes whenever I cooked your favorite meals dulled. What happened to us, Kara? Am I not enough for you anymore? You barely text me that you’re okay whenever you finish Supergirl duties. You’ve missed countless dates, always brushing me off in favor of doing other things and going to other places. Hell, you don’t even cuddle with me in bed anymore! There’s no lingering touches, sleepy kisses, nothing.”
At this point, you want to continue your speech but angry sobs rack your body, interrupting your train of thought. The dark apartment goes silent as Kara watches as you wipe at your burning tears. In a soft voice, Kara tries to reason with you.
“Y/N. I-” -- she sighs -- “I don’t know where to begin except for the fact that I’m sorry about hurting you like this. I guess I’ve just been really tired lately. With everything going on with the DEO and CatCo, I don’t really have the energy to do these things anymore and a lot of the time, these just slip my mind. I-”
Regaining your breath and partial composure, you explode at her.
“KARA DANVERS, DO NOT START THAT WITH ME.” Clenching your fists, you take a breath and continue. “I think I understand it now. You’ve fallen out of love with me, right? That flame we had was finally extinguished because you grew tired of me. Tell me, who did you fall in love with this time?”
You watch as Kara’s eyes are flooded with guilt and she gulps. In a quiet and nearly broken voice, Kara gives you the answer you were looking for.
“Lena.”
Drawing your lips into a thin smile, you nod as tears begin to fill your vision once more. You chew on your lip as everything finally begins to fall into place.
---
You were at Alex’s apartment, having a game night with the Superfriends. The group decided to play Charades and wanted to split up the couples so you were paired up with Alex as Kara was paired with Lena. While everyone was laughing at Winn trying to act out his word, you sat off to the side of the couch, sipping your drink. Across the room, you could see how Kara was practically glowing as she talked with Lena. Those ocean blue eyes you fell in love with were falling in love with someone else and you watched as your relationship with Kara began to slowly unravel. With every touch, laugh, and smile the pair shared, you could feel your heart sinking and crack bit by bit.
A hand gently shook your shoulder, pulling you out of your thoughts. You looked up to see Alex’s eyes filled with concern as she asks if you’re okay. Brushing her off, you nod your head and get ready for your turn, missing the way Kara ignored you, not sparing a second thought as she continued her conversation with Lena.
The next time you realized that your girlfriend was falling out of love with you and instead with someone in your friend group was when you were reading a couple of random blog posts about Supergirl. Something that caught your eye was a comment under an article about L-Corp.
> Isn’t that the place that Supergirl keeps going to?
> OMG yeah! i’ve heard about a lot of supergirl sightings in that area
> A friend of mine goes to a park nearby there and says that he sees a streak of blue and red fly by at the same time nearly every day.
> I wonder why she keeps going there. Don’t Supers and Luthors have a bad history with each other?
> yeah, i think they do but it seems like supergirl and lena luthor like each other.
You scoffed at that last comment. Yeah, more like they love each other. Pausing, you realized that Kara is falling in love with Lena. The two of them have been spending a lot more time together, arguably Kara has spent more time with her than you within the past few weeks. Your heart clenched at the thought and you shook your head, wanting to dispel the idea out of your head. There’s no way. Kara would at least tell me. Right? Tears began to well up in your eyes as you let out a few pitiful sobs. Fuck.
---
“Leave. I don’t want to see you in this apartment ever again.”
“Y/N, I-”
“Don’t say it,” you practically beg her, “please.
She whispers in a guilt-ridden voice, “Okay.”
Continuing, you stare at the ground as you say, “I want all of your things out of here by morning. I’m going to Nia’s apartment tonight.”
At this point, the two of you are standing in the kitchen at an arm's length, trying to hide your tears from each other. You’re the first to turn away as you head to your bedroom to pack an overnight bag. Quickly sending a text to Nia, you pack what you need to stay the night and you check your phone, seeing a text message giving you the okay to stay over. A sigh of relief escapes your lips as you pocket the phone and brush away stray tears.
When you leave the bedroom, Kara hasn’t moved an inch, just staring aimlessly into the ground. At the sound of your door closing, she looks up to see you walking past her with a bag hung on your shoulder. Placing your hand on the door handle, you’re about to open the door when you pause and look over your shoulder. The blonde looks so defeated in her place; head hung low, shoulders slumped over, eyes red and lined with tears. The two of you make eye contact as you give her a small smile and step out of the apartment, leaving the superhero alone with her thoughts and guilt.
Just like a candle, your relationship that once burned bright dwindled down until it was on its last legs. The argument snuffed the flame, once and for all, leaving the both of you to fade into the smoke that was the irreparable relationship that could no longer be rekindled. Relationships that were broken had the chance at being repaired but those that burned out could no longer be reignited.

Emma watches the world pass by as the car heads towards Lena’s apartment. She feels Lena rubbing her thumb along her finger, a comforting motion that helps soothe her emotions. Butterflies are fluttering around her stomach with the realisation she is finally free from the DEO, that the nightmare of the past few weeks were over and the excitement of moving in with the love of her life. But Emma is also ignoring the slight flicker of anxiety within her. Completely overlooking the reasons why she is moving into Lena’s apartment and not back into her own.
To her, she was going home.
A chuckle makes Emma turn to look at her girlfriend. Tilting her altered face in question to the noise she made.
“I was just thinking about how it’s good the windows are tinted. Wouldn’t want the press or public to think I was cheating on you.”
A deep rumble emits from Emma’s chest as she voicelessly laughs with Lena, but soon her brows knit together in thought.
“We are going to need to be careful about that aren’t we?”
“Unfortunately yes.” Lena gently places a hand on Emma’s upper thigh. “If we go out together there will have to be no PDA.”  Lena can’t help but marvel at the work Brainy and Winn put into the face modifier. Suddenly an adorable pout, so very Emma, appears on the altered face and the corner of Lena’s right lip lifts up. “But it does kind of help that you have someone else's face projected right now.”
Emma’s right eye squints slightly as she thinks about her answer.
“So if we kissed while I have this on, would that still feel like cheating to you?”
Lena closes her mouth as she now ponders her answer. Still analysing the detail of the altered face beside her.
“I mean, I know it’s you but-” A sly smile creeps across her face. “-I think we may need to test the theory.”
Altered bright green eyes search Lena’s own and Emma smirks, slowly she leans forward and tilts her head. The raven haired beauty meets her half way and their lips press softly together. Lena smiles and immediately deepens the kiss, running her tongue against Emma’s lips which the blonde instantly opens.
A deep breath, like a voiceless moan, emits from within Emma. She reaches up and runs her fingers tenderly over Lena’s face and into her hair. Lena’s hands find Emma’s toned thighs and ass as their tongues explore each other.
But all too soon the car pulls into the underground garage and stops by the elevators.
The noise of the driver opening his door to load Emma's possessions onto a cart, alerts the pair as they quickly pull apart. Lena chortles at the smudged lipstick all over the lower part of Emma’s altered face.
“Gonna need to clean that up.” Lena grabs her phone and takes a picture to show her girlfriend who lets out quick successions of breaths as she voicelessly laughs. “Here.” Lena hands the blonde a tissue and wipes her own face. Once satisfied that the smudged lipstick is gone, Lena puts her hand on the car door. But Emma taps her arm, stopping her, causing Lena to turn back to her girlfriend.
“So?” Emma signs
“So what?”
“What was your conclusion?”
“Well, my conclusion was-” Lena places her hand in Emma’s and squeezes it. “-I can still tell it’s you.” Lena lightly kisses Emma’s lips before getting out of the car and heading to her driver waiting by the elevator with the cart. “Thank you.” She smiles gratefully to him. “I don’t think we’ll be needing you again today, but please be ready just in case?” She holds out her hand with a generous tip for him.
“Of course Ms Luthor.” The driver respectfully nods his hat and takes the fresh notes. “Do you need a hand getting this upstairs?”
“Thank you but I think we’ll be alright.” Lena smiles at him.
“Very good Ms Luthor.” The driver nods again and leaves.
The CEO turns towards her girlfriend and is momentarily filled with anger. “Emma!” Lena yells as she sees Emma about to push the cart. Immediately Emma lifts her hands up in surrender with a questioning expression on her face. “Don’t you remember what Doctor Hamilton said?”
“Yes, but I’m fine. You can attest to that, right?” Emma knowingly smirks at her girlfriend, her smile widens as Lena’s cheeks colour a lovely shade of pink and she bites the corner of her lip. “Shall we go inside?”
Lena quickly nods and summons the elevator to head up to the penthouse apartment. Excitement fills Lena and she beams as they approach their front door.
Reaching into her bag she pulls out a key with a 1980’s She-Ra key ring figure on. Turning to face Emma she holds it out for the blonde to take. “Welcome home.”
Emma’s eyes lower to the key in Lena’s hands and her face scrunches up with emotion. Having recognised it as Lena’s key from Emma’s apartment. Emma steps around the cart and hugs Lena tight.
The raven haired beauty holds Emma close and rubs her back. “Love? Shall we go inside?”
Emma pulls back and nods, taking the key and unlocking the door before rushing to push the cart. Not wanting Lena to hurt herself, especially in her high stilettos. They enter the apartment and Emma takes a deep breath in. She smiles at the many vases of bouquets around the room. Turning to her girlfriend she lifts her hands to sign.
“Thank you, they are lovely.”
“Not as lovely as you.” Lena returns her smile and removes her bag and coat. “Speaking of.” Lena reaches up and taps her finger gently against Emma’s right temple. The face flickers, morphing Emma’s and the other face until finally revealing Emma’s. “That’s better.” Lena quickly kisses Emma’s lips before turning back to the cart to start unloading it. Emma swiftly moves to her side and helps. “So your essentials were packed like you asked and are in my- our room.”
Emma smiles brightly at Lena as she follows her girlfriend into their room.
“I’ve also made space in my wardrobe-”
Emma raises her eyebrows and gapes in mock surprise.
“-you arse.” Lena laughs and playfully pushes the blonde, who barely sways.
“What about the counter space in the bathroom?”
Lena scoffs heavily and rolls her eyes. “I’m not that bad!”
Emma widens her eyes and juts her lips forward in disagreement.
Lena rolls her eyes again and starts helping Emma unpack. Grateful that the DEO allowed a few of their agents to do the job as even Lena struggled with the thought of entering Emma’s apartment at the moment.
-- -- --
Finally the last box had been emptied and broken up. Emma was quite pleased her things easily fit into Lena’s apartment and didn’t take up too much space. Currently she was laying out her shoes, making sure they were in order of colour and in height.
“Love?” Lena stands by the entrance of the walk in wardrobe with her phone in her hands. Both had changed into comfortable clothing.
Lena was wearing black leggings with Emma’s Mass Effect N7 hoodie and a white t-shirt underneath. Her hair was in an up down style to keep her hair out of her face as she helped Emma unpack.
Emma had changed into a white tank top and the DEO hoodie she has been wearing the past few weeks. She was also wearing a pair of her black three quarter lengths that were surprisingly tight around her calf muscles. So she pulled them up to her knee.
Emma quickly looks up at her girlfriend byt the walk in wardrobe entrance. “I just need to send a few emails but it shouldn’t take too long. Is that okay?”
Emma nods and starts to sign. “Want me to come save you if you are longer than an hour?”
“Always my hero.” Lena grins and turns to go into her home office.
Emma smiles and stands up. Making sure everything was tidy and in place before she leaves to go into the lounge area of the apartment.
Sitting on the sofa Emma grabs her guitar case and pulls out the instrument. After making sure it’s in tune the blonde sits back and starts strumming. Getting lost in the music.
-- -- --
Half an hour later and Lena is satisfied everything was in order. She shuts down her computer and makes her way out of her home office.
Immediately she hears the captivating sounds of Emma’s guitar and immediately goes to investigate. Finding Emma on the sofa, Lena watches the blonde play, getting transfixed by the movement of her fingers and passion shining out from her.
Wanting to be nearer to her girlfriend, Lena quietly makes her way over and sits on the sofa. She examines Emma’s face as the song progresses, her expression changing to one of sadness and longing.
Eventually she finishes the song. Leaving the echo of the chords to fade into the silence of the apartment.
“Love?” Lena tilts her head at the sorrow etched in Emma’s face. The blonde slowly looks over at her and places her guitar on the coffee table. Turning towards the raven haired beauty, Lena’s breath hitches at the mournful look in Emma’s eyes. Something she hasn’t seen a lot in the years she’s known her.
“I’ve written you a song and I would do anything to sing it to you now.”
“And you will.” Lena slides over to her girlfriend and places a hand on her thigh.
“I know, I just miss singing so much, even just talking. I miss voicing my opinions, my love for you.” Emma swallows again and pauses. “Can I show you the lyrics? Or would you rather wait?”
“I’d love to read it.” Emma quickly gets to her feet to get the notebook that is bursting with other pieces of paper. Lena watches the blonde nervously zip back to the sofa and she swallows.
Lena has always loved being involved in the process of Emma’s songwriting. Many times in the past when the pair were just friends, Lena’s phone would ring and there’d be a video call from Emma sat in front of a piano or guitar, her mane of wavy hair tied up and she’d ask which chords or lyrics sounded better.
And now?
Things had changed.
Drastically.
Like Emma, Lena would give anything to hear Emma’s voice, to hear her laugh, her moan of pleasure, her singing passionately in the shower or soft words of love while they cuddled.
But the pair have had to learn new ways of communicating. Lena is grateful they both know how to sign language as it made their conversations a lot easier then the silence of Emma taking the time to write.
Lena had also noticed how Emma had got much more tactile. Always wanting to hold her hand or being able to touch a part of Lena. Like pressing her knee or thigh against Lena. Which she didn’t mind at all.
The raven haired beauty is brought out of her musings as Emma slowly hands her the notebook. Lena looks down at the page and notices the lack of crossings out and word changes that normally litters Emma’s work.
Heart beats fast
Colours and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
One step closer
Lena’s heart melts at the words. The song continues with the chorus again and when Lena reads the bridge she starts sniffing and she has to blink a few times as her eyes fill with tears.
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
Emma breathes a steady, light flow of air as she watches Lena’s reaction. When her girlfriend starts sniffing and tears start falling down her cheeks, Emma worries she has upset her.
Finally Lena lifts her head and wipes her eyes with the back of her hands. “Emma, Love, that was-” She runs a hand through her hair, trying to find the words to describe how she’s feeling and stares at the opposite wall. She sees Emma shift uncomfortably in her peripheral vision. Turning her head, Lena is greeted by a worried looking Emma.
“Love?” Lena sits up straighter in concern. “What’s wrong?’
“You're crying. Did I upset you?”
“Because your words touched me.” Lena says, trying to reassure Emma. “As I was reading I kept picturing-”
But Lena stops herself from completing her sentence. Her tongue presses against the roof of her mouth. Emma tilts her head, her expression morphing into one of confusion, wanting Lena to continue.
But Lena stares back like a deer in headlights.
“Lee?” Emma signs and watches the battle within Lena’s eyes.
“No, it's silly.” Lena says quickly, her Irish tone breaking out and she stares back down at the page. “I love the bridge and safe to presume the song is about me?”
The raven haired beauty keeps her head down until a hand tenderly reaches under her chin and gently lifts it. Their eyes connect again and Lena could cry with the love projecting out of Emma’s.
“Please tell me?”
Lena bites the inside of her lip. “I-erm-” She takes a deep breath in to calm her nerves. “I imagined you walking down the aisle and-”
Lena falters as a huge smile spreads across Emma’s face and she lets out a breath that Lena relates to Emma laughing.
But before she can feel offended Emma starts signing.
“That’s what I imagined when I was writing it.”
“You- you would want to marry me?” Lena whispers out, her eyes widening slightly. Even after her chat with Sam in the car a few weeks ago, she never imagined Emma would want to take this step with her.
“Of course I would. I’d love to be Mrs Luthor-”
Lena's eyes widen further in shock as she watches Emma’s hands. “What?!” She splutters after Emma signs her surname and Emma pauses her hands, tilting her head in confusion. “Em, you wouldn’t want my last name. It’s cursed. It’s tainted. It’s vile. It’s-”
Now it's Emma’s turn to interrupt Lena’s rant by cupping her face and lightly pressing their foreheads together. In that simple action Lena’s emotions calm slightly and she takes a few deep breaths. Allowing Emma’s expression of love to drown out the negative voices howling in her mind.
Finally Emma pulls back and tenderly rubs her thumbs against Lena’s jaw. Trying to soothe her further.
Emma slowly removes her hands and starts signing. “Your name doesn’t define you and yes, though your family have done some questionable things, you have changed the Luthor name to mean something more than their actions. Of hope and compassion. That anything is possible.”
Lena’s face scrunches up with emotion. Something Lillian would have scolded her for. ‘Hide your pitiful expression at once! Luthors do not show any emotion! How many times must I tell you!’
But with Emma Lena has no walls. She hadn’t realised Emma had been slowly chipping away at them and made her feel safe, to allow her emotions out.
Compassionate eyes gaze lovingly back at her and Lena feels whole. Home.
“Thank you.”
“You're welcome. And if you are still unsure about your name we could always double barrel them.” Emma grins as Lena visibly starts to relax again.
“Danvers-Luthor? Luthor-Danvers?” Lena says, feeling the words on her tongue. “Orrrr just Danvers. Lena Danvers.” Lena beams at her girlfriend. The prospect of the future with Emma fills her with excitement and longing. Almost becoming like a giddy child on Christmas day.
That is until Emma’s eyes focus down at her notebook and lets out a deep breath.
“Love?”
“I want to sing this to you so bad.” Emma signs without looking up.
“One day you will.” Lena says determined and squeezes Emma’s knee. She can’t imagine never hearing Emma's voice again.
“What if the surgery doesn’t work?”
Lena’s heart breaks with how unsure Emma looks. If she could she would trade with Emma in an instant.
“Well, if it doesn’t work then-” Lena quickly thinks of what to say, wanting to say the right thing. “-you’ll have another surgery and even before that I will design something that will either help in the surgery or project your voice at whatever capacity it comes out at-”
Emma watches as Lena’s eyes light up with passion at the ideas filling her mind. Despite how she feels Emma smiles softly at her.
Lena notices and stops her rambling of different ideas. She reaches out and holds Emma’s hand to reassure her. “What I am trying to say is.” Lena takes a deep breath. “We will figure it out together. Whatever happens.”
“Promise?” Emma smiles and holds out her pinky finger, making Lena chuckle. Knowing the Danvers sisters make pinky promises all the time on meaningful things.
Lena holds up her own pinky finger and wraps it around Emma’s. “I promise.”
Emma nods and Lena pulls her into a hug and sighs deeply. Her heart breaks at the subtle pain in the bonde’s hazel green eyes. Not being able to imagine what she must be going through. But she’s home now and Lena will fight with her.
She feels Emma play with her hair, twirling it between her fingers. Eventually Emma pulls away.
“Sorry.”
“Love, please stop apologising.”
Emma starts to sign sorry again but Lena grabs her hands, stopping her. “No.”
Emma raises an eyebrow and starts to mouth the word instead.
“Stop.” Lena orders while placing a finger over Emma’s lips.
The blonde stares at her, a glint of mischief in her eyes before playfully opening her mouth and sucking on Lena’s finger.
“Em-ma!” Lena squeals, seemingly outraged by Emma’s actions but she can’t help the flood of desire within her.
Right on cue, Emma’s stomach rumbles. ‘Pussyblocker.’ She thinks with an eye roll.
Lena quickly stands and heads to the kitchen, opening the cupboards and fridge to see the contents inside. “What would you like to eat? I asked the housekeeper to restock everything so I can make whatever you would like.” Lena looks back at the blonde still sitting on the sofa. “Em?”
Emma slowly rises to her feet and dawdles over to the island. Lena stands on the other side and waits while Emma taps her fingers on the glass surface as she thinks.
“Crêpes?”
“Sure!” Lena starts pulling out the ingredients she needs. Emma walks around the island to help. “Nah uh! Sit down.” Lena orders and Emma clicks her tongue in annoyance, making Lena freeze. “Did you click your tongue at me?”
Emma crosses her arms and leans on her leg, raising an eyebrow in a challenge.
“Oh you are on a dangerous line Danvers.” Lena teases as she opens the tin of flour. She looks at Emma’s hands as she signs.
“And what would you do if I crossed it?”
Lena’s breathing becomes shallow at the images that fill her mind.
While she is distracted Emma approaches and quickly reaches into the tin, dipping two fingers into the flour and plops a thin layer of it on Lena’s nose.
“Emma! You did not just-” Lena is interrupted as Emma runs her fingers around her face, like she was applying war paint and smirks. “Oh it's on.” Lena grabs a pinch of flour and flicks it at Emma. Covering the blonde’s face and t-shirt.
Emma tilts her head and narrows her eyes as they stare heatedly at each other.
Suddenly they both reach into the tin and start throwing flour at each other. Lena laughs and squeals as Emma starts chasing her around and around the island with her flour covered hands.
There's a slight pause as they stop at either end.
Lena's chest rises and falls heavily as she regains her breath. Flour is all over the island, floor and caking their hair.
Eventually Lena goes to the right and Emma copies her, halting her movement. The raven haired beauty changes her mind and shifts to the left but Emma mirrors her again, smiling widely at her.
“What now darling?”
“Admit your defeat and surrender.” Emma signs with her flour covered hands and a smirk on her face.
“Never!” Lena yells dramatically and goes to run towards the sofas to create more space and distance between them. But she gasps loudly as Emma grabs her hips and spins her around. Pinning her against the island.
Their lips connect in a fierce kiss and Lena lets out a muffled squeal as Emma lifts her up onto the counter.
She wraps her arms and legs around Emma, pinning the blonde against her and they both deepen the kiss, opening their mouths as their tongues fight for dominance. Their hands caress and massage each other, running through each other’s hair and their hands keep roaming.
They break apart and stare into each other's eyes as they catch their breath.
“One tap yes. Two taps no. Three taps asking if I’m alright?” Lena gasps out as she moves her hips against Emma’s firm abs.
Emma taps once and dives into Lena’s neck, sucking onto an area she knows makes her girlfriend quiver. Lena moans deeply as Emma taps her three times.
“Yes! Keep going! Fuck.” Lena whines out as she runs her hands down Emma’s back and squeezes the blonde’s toned ass. She feels Emma taps her once, verbalising her approval.
“You like that huh?” Lena breathes out heavily and Emma taps in response. “You like me squeezing your gorgeous ass?” Emma taps again and a deep rumble emits from her chest. “Fuck!” Lena yelps as Emma leaves a trail of kisses before finding another of Lena’s sensitive spots behind her ear.
Lena keeps bucking her hips, trying to find relief from the growing need between her legs.
As if sensing this Emma unlatches from behind Lena’s ear and leaves a trail of kisses along her jaw and pulls her head back.
Emma stares into dilated eyes and knows her eyes must look the same. Their colour is almost completely replaced by their pupils.
Slowly Emma reaches for the bottom of her N7 hoodie Lena is wearing and starts to pull it up. She taps three times, unable to sign due to how close Lena has pressed against her.
Taking the hint Lena nods and grabs Emma's clothes as well. Flinging them off in one go, exposing Emma’s sports bra and making the blonde chuckle as she quirks an eyebrow up.
In a similar way Emma lifts the hoodie and t-shirt Lena is wearing in one fluid motion. Revealing Lena’s bare chest.
Emma freezes and is transfixed by Lena’s full breasts, causing Lena to smirk at her reaction. “Like what you see?”
A single tap answers her and Emma leans in and starts kissing in between Lena’s chest.
“You always did like my bo-obs!” Lena gasps and tightens her hold on Emma’s ass as Emma swirls her tongue around her hardening nipple. Kissing, licking and sucking it before moving onto the other one. “Em!” Lena breathes out feeling herself getting wetter and wetter. She throws her head back and scrunches up her eyes.“Shit!” Her hips buck as the need grows more and more inside her.
After some time passes, Emma slides her hands down Lena’s back and hooks her thumbs on the waistband. She taps three times on the top of Lena’s ass but the raven haired beauty doesn’t respond. Too lost in the other things Emma was doing.
The blonde moves her head away and smirks at how her girlfriend was coming undone. Immediately Lena’s head snaps back to the blonde with a scowl upon her face.
“Why’d you stop?”
Emma tugs on Lena’s waistband again and taps three times. Lena’s breath hitches and she lets go of Emma, lifting her hips to allow Emma to pull the leggings off. The blonde does this slowly, enjoying the view as more and more of Lena is revealed. When she realises Lena isn’t wearing underwear, Emma bites her lip and a deep rumble of need sounds from her chest.
“I’m not going to lie, I had hoped we would be doing something like this.” Lena breathes out at the blonde’s reaction and watches Emma bend to pull the leggings off. Leaving Lena stark naked on the island. She shivers, not because the marble of the island is cold against her bare ass, but the way Emma is gazing longingly at her. Taking in every curve, every part of her body. The blonde straightens, throwing the leggings to the floor and raises her hands.
“You're so beautiful.” Emma signs and leans in to kiss Lena fiercely on the lips before the blonde restarts her descent. Sucking and biting Lena’s flawless skin, leaving marks upon the surface as she heads to her destination.
“Oh god.” Lena chokes out in anticipation and places a hand on Emma’s head, running her hand smoothly through blonde hair. A sharp intake of breath overcomes the raven haired beauty as Emma pulls her further to the edge, giving her better access to her pussy.
Emma does three taps on Lena’s thigh as she kisses up and down them. Purposefully avoiding Lena’s dripping pussy.
“Please Emma! Please!” Lena whines as her hand massages the blonde’s head, willing her into the place she needs Emma’s mouth the most. “Love please.”
Finally Emma buries her head between Lena’s legs and the CEO cries out in exhilaration. Emma voicelessly hums with her at the taste of Lena’s juices.
The raven haired beauty’s hips buck as she feels Emma’s tongue running up and down her inner labia before focusing on her clit. She gasps loudly when the blonde kisses it and her tongue twirls around the nub.
“Yes Emma! So go-oood!” Lena whines and her back arches, head back and mouth open as she moans.
A deep rumble rings out of Emma’s chest as she feels Lena’s movements becoming erratic and tense. Knowing she was getting close Emma lowers her face to Lena’s pussy. She gently licks and taps Lena’s thigh three times.
“Yes! Please! Put your tongue in me! Please!” Lena pleads breathlessly and cries out when Emma does as she asks.
“Emma! Fuck! Yes!” Lena cries out, grabbing a fist full of Emma’s hair and shoves her face further into her pussy. She grinds against Emma’s tongue, her moans filling the apartment, increasing in pitch as she gets closer to her release.
“Just like that!” Lena wails and her hips lift off the counter, causing Emma to gently hold her back in place. “Em-ma! Em! Yes! Yes! I love you! Oh fuck! Emma!” Lena yells and convulses as the waves of pleasure wash over her.
Emma removes her tongue and keeps gently licking. Knowing her own underwear is completely soaked through. The sight before her, of her girlfriend’s chest rising and falling heavily, her head raised back with her mouth open, is the most magnificent thing she has ever seen.
When Lena starts to come down from her high she begins to go slack and Emma can see her girlfriend flopping backwards and hitting her head on the glass panel. She unwantedly removes her mouth from Lena’s pussy and stands upright to support Lena’s weight. Immediately the raven haired beauty flops onto her shoulders. Her head nestles into the blonde’s neck.
Emma tenses for a moment but focuses on her girlfriend in her arms rather than the words and images that were trying to infiltrate her mind. She tenderly kisses the top of Lena’s head and breathes.
Eventually Lena stops convulsing and starts softly kissing Emma’s neck. She misses the slight twitch the blonde does and lifts her head. “God that was-” She breathes out. “I’ve missed you so much.”
Emma smirks slightly, blinking a few times before lightly pressing their foreheads together.
“Shall we take this somewhere more comfortable?” Lena asks when she feels fully recovered. Knowing that if she had tried to move any earlier her legs would have given way.
Emma nods and helps Lena off the island. Patting off the flour that had clung onto Lena’s sweat sheen body.
“Thank you love.” Lena says softly and takes Emma’s hand, leading her to the bedroom. She sways her hips, knowing her girlfriend’s focus will stay on them. Once by the bed Lena turns and cocks her head to the side. “You still have a bit of flour over you.” She chuckles and grabs a towel to get the worst of it off. Once Lena is finished with it Emma does the same. Booping Lena’s nose when she’s done, causing the raven haired beauty to laugh before her expression becomes serious again. “You know. You are still slightly overdressed.”
Emma looks down at herself and blinks at her sports bra and sweatpants. Glancing back up, she grins at Lena.
“And?”
“And how am I going to fuck you with my cock if you’re still clothed?”
Emma swears her heart stills for a second and her breath hitches at the thought of Lena using a toy on her.
“Would you like that darling?” Lena runs her hand over Emma’s still clothed chest. Feeling the blonde’s hardening nipple. “Love? I need you to respond.”
Emma nods frantically and licks her lips.
Lena smirks and pulls Emma into a heated kiss. Wasting no more time Lena pulls the blonde’s sports bra over her head, breaking the kiss for a moment before their mouths and tongues crash back together again.
They fall onto the bed and Lena immediately straddles her girlfriend. Rocking her hips against Emma’s, still clothed, lower half.
“Do you know how maddening it’s been not being able to touch you?” Lena says while running her hands up and down Emma’s chest. Massaging her breasts, causing Emma to let out a voiceless moan. Knowing her underwear is completely drenched now.
Emma taps once against Lena’s back in response. There had been many moments when she was alone with Lena and wanted nothing more than to devour her. But the DEO medical staff always seem to have a knack for interrupting at the wrong times.
“You are mine.” Lena bends down and places a tender kiss on Emma’s lips. “And I am yours.”
Emma taps again and nods. ‘Rao I am yours! All yours!’ Her mind screams out and she moves her hips with Lena’s.
The raven haired beauty smirks and slips two fingers inside Emma’s sweatpants and underwear. She crawls off of the blonde and peels back the clothes. “Fuck, you are stunning.” Lena groans as she takes in Emma’s naked body. The toned muscles and shapely chest. The blonde has never looked better.
“Lee? Please.”
“Please what?” Lena raises an eyebrow.
“Fuck me.”
“As you wish.” Lena slides over to her bedside table and opens the drawer containing their toys. “Any preference?”
Emma shakes her head, the anticipation growing inside her makes her grin.
Especially when Lena pulls out the strapless strap-on dildo. The couple had decided to go for a non realistic version in purple. Lena also grabs the lube and scooches over to Emma’s legs, placing the items beside her.
“But first, I want to taste you.”
‘Fuck.’ Emma thinks, her eyes widening as she rests back on her elbows so she can watch Lena. Who lowers herself between Emma’s legs, keeping her eyes connected with Emma’s as she kisses her inner thighs.
“You know, I should have checked your underwear.” Lena sucks hard on Emma’s thigh, leaving a mark. “I bet it was soaked through.”
Emma moves her hips slightly, feeling her clit twitch and nods in response.
Lena grins and gently pulls Emma’s outer labia apart. She moans at the juices dripping from Emma’s pussy. “God, you're so wet!” She runs a finger through Emma’s folds, making the blonde release a voiceless gasp. “All this because of me?”
Emma taps in response and gives her girlfriend a pleading expression.
Lena compiles and runs her tongue from the bottom of Emma’s pussy, all the way up to her clit and back. “God Em, you taste divine.” She moans deeply at the taste of Emma’s thick, sweet tasting juices.
Emma’s back arches at the contact, her fist balling at the sheets and voiceless whines escapes her lips.
She jolts when Lena moves up to her clit, gently kissing and sucking the nub.
Lena listens to the new noises her girlfriend is making. How strange it was to hear the different breaths without her voice. A pang hits Lena right in the chest. She misses Emma’s moans, how Lena could make her scream her name over and over.
But she ignores it and continues to focus her attention on the blonde.
Before Emma can come Lena pauses and lifts her head slightly to gaze at Emma. “Can I fuck you?”
Emma nods frantically and falls back against the bed when she feels Lena slide a finger into her. She reaches out, resting her hand on Lena’s head. “Oh Em! You feel so good, wrapped around my finger.”
Lena goes knuckle deep and starts kissing Emma’s clit again. The blonde’s back arches off the bed and her thighs tighten around Lena’s head, her hips bucking at the pleasure coursing through her.
‘Fuck! Lee! Shit! Oh Rao! That’s it!’
Emma lets out a high breath as Lena adds another finger. Her pussy immediately clenches around them as Lena continues  to pump in and out of her.
Emma jolts violently as Lena rubs against her g-spot, her legs shake and her mind screams as her orgasm builds.
“Come for me Emma.”
The blonde scrunches up her eyes as she tenses from the pleasure hitting her full force. An extended breath rips from her lips and she spasms as Lena continues to draw out her orgasm.
“God you are so fucking sexy.” Lena groans and removes her fingers, licking the juices from them. “Taste it too.”
As Emma becomes more aware she feels Lena pressed next to her on the bed. Opening her eyes she grins at her girlfriend, who watches her closely.
Lena gasps and her face contorts in pleasure. Emma can’t mistake the wet sounds coming from Lena’s pussy. She glances down and her brain short circuits at the sight of Lena fucking herself with the shorter end of the dildo.
“I-I’m sorry, I- fuck, I just couldn’t resist.” Lena gasps out and licks her lips in a moan.
Emma smirks and moves her head to close the short distance and captures Lena’s lips in a kiss. The raven haired beauty's moan is muffled and she uses her free hand to run through Emma’s golden hair.
She lets out another muffled noise of surprise when Emma rolls her onto her back and straddles her. The dildo resting between her legs.
Emma breaks the kiss and grabs the bottle of lube. Lena holds the toy in place, her chest rises and falls quickly as she watches Emma lube the purple dildo up. The blonde raises and positions herself over the shaft, before lowering herself onto it.
Lena blows out as she feels the slight pressure within her as Emma sits on the toy. She waits as Emma gets used to it, not wanting to rush her.
Emma grins down at her girlfriend and starts rocking her hips, feeling the dildo more and more as she increases the speed.
Lena starts lifting her hips as well, finding the rhythm to match Emma’s. She sucks in her lips at the pleasurable feel of the dildo inside of her and the sight of Emma’s breasts bouncing with each thrust.
“Fuck I could watch you all day.” Lena reaches up and pulls Emma on top of her . Heatedly kissing her mouth and sworling their tongues together.
Lena is also mildly impressed that Emma is able to keep the toy within her. The first time they tried it the blasted thing kept slipping out, causing a lot of laughs and giggles.
But now, the fucking was intense and needy.
Lena jolts as Emma turns the vibrator part of the toy on and cries out as Emma increases intensity.
Breaking the kiss, Emma grabs onto the headboard. Thrusting her hips harder and faster causing both women to moan.
“Fuck! Emma! Fuck! Fuck! Emma!” Lena screams as she arches her back, eyes tightly shut.
‘Lee! Lee! Lee!’ Emma’s mind screams as she tightly grips the headboard. The slowly building pressure beneath her stomach crescendoing until she can’t control the rhythm of her hips anymore.
Both come at the same time, swimming in ecstasy, so lost in the explosion of their orgasm that they don’t hear the cracking of the headboard under Emma’s fingers.
Lena is the first to come down from her high and she gazes up at Emma. Watching her face that is still scrunched up as the blonde rolls with the waves of pleasure. Her diaphragm rises and falls quickly as she gasps for breath. Her body spasms every now and then and eventually she relaxes, slowly opening her eyes.
“Hello there.” Lena grins brightly up at her, which Emma returns. The raven haired beauty pulls her girlfriend down to her and kisses her passionately. Not wanting this moment to ever end.

Just Friends Part 2
Requested by several Anons
Pairings: Lena Luthor x Reader
Tags: Mild angst, Fluff, Happy Ending
It was several weeks later when you and Lena were invited to a signature Danvers style family game night. Lena opted to bring the wine while you brought the snacks, and some potstickers and pizza, a special request from your superhero truly. Instead of doing the event at Kara’s apartment, everyone decided to do it at Alex’s, pointing out that she has more room in case someone were to pass out drunk again on the floor. Not that it wasn’t a jab towards you (it was), of course. You do remember waking up, feeling like you got ran over by a truck, and Lena dumping a bowl of warm water on your face, saying that she had tried to wake you up for five minutes prior. The rest of the day was spent saying that you hated your life while hunched over a toilet.
Lena was going to meet you there and you knew that she was coming from L-Corp. She spent a lot of late nights there saying that she got swamped with paperwork. And you understood. After all what were friends for?
You decided to just head to Alex’s house and get started on the festivities. In the event that you did get black out drunk again, you knew that Alex had another bed that Kara would dump your inebriated body onto.
About an hour passed when Lena showed up. Alex let her in and, true to her word, she did have a rather large and rather expensive bottle of wine. J’onn, Alex, Winn, James, Brainy, and Nia all clapped when she walked in.
“It’s about time, Luthor! We’re all about to play a game!” Winn called out to her.
Her eyes got comically big, somehow their green color growing a shade brighter, before she chuckled nervously and gave Alex the wine bottle. You were already a bit typsy from drinking some beers so you figured you’d leave the wine alone. It would be better to end the night with some dignity.
“Oh god. What is it?”
“Truth or dare,” Nia smirked.
Everyone laughed including yourself as you all gathered in a circled and put an empty beer bottle in the middle. It was several rounds before the bottle finally landed on Lena. Before, Winn had to lick James armpit. Nia had to fake propose to Brainy, and Kara was dared to write ‘I’m gay’ in the sky using the clouds. Everyone chuckled when it was Lena’s turn.
“Alright Lena. Truth or dare?”
“Dare,” she said without hesitating. “I should be drunk enough.”
Winn laughed as James hooted and Alex released a wolfish whistle.
Kara was the one to state the challenge and without skipping a beat she said, “I dare you to kiss your crush.”
It got incredibly quiet as all eyes flew between you and Lena. You couldn’t help the blush that colored your cheeks and spread all the way to your ears. Everyone snickered as they tried, and failed, to not stare at you. Lena’s eyes swept across the room before they landed on yours for a millisecond. Then she smiled and took a sip of her wine.
“If you’re insinuating that I have a crush on someone here, you’re mistaken.”
Kara eyebrows flew together in shock while everyone looked at each other in confusion. You, on the other hand, were trying to stop yourself from throwing up your heart. The simple statement had hurt, and it took everything in you to not show your disappointment. Kara must have caught on to your body though, because she gave you a look. It wasn’t outright sympathy but it was close to it. You shook your head minutely so that she would be the only one to see it. Here wasn’t the place or time. So you swallowed your hurt and forced a laugh.
“Wait, there’s no one in here that you have a crush on?” Nia asked.
“Nobody at all?” Alex clarified.
“Nope,” Lena said, giving them a level stare.
There was another pang in your heart and you could feel tears spring to your eyes. You had to leave, you had to get out of here. The last thing you wanted was to be drunk and crying. So you cleared your throat and put on a faux smile.
“I think all that beer caught up to me. Excuse me,” you say cheerfully before going to the bathroom.
The moment the door closed, a tear slipped down your cheek and you were grasping the sink in an attempt to steady yourself. You felt like an idiot, this whole time pining after someone who didn’t feel the same about you, and you didn’t know what hurt worse: your own stupidity or the fact that you put yourself in this situation. You held your breath, counting to ten and forcing yourself to calm down. You were starting to feel dizzy from oxygen deprivation when there was a soft knock at the door. You jumped before sighing. Swallowing down all your feelings, you cleared your throat.
“Who is it?” you called out, your voice surprisingly calm even to you.
“It’s Kara.” There was a moment of silence.
“Y/n, I know you’ve been crying. Can you let me in please?”
Tentatively, you open the door where you’re met with Kara’s sympathetic gaze. She opened her arms for a hug and you accepted the invitation. You loved it when Kara gave you hugs. Though she was wildly muscular, she was still a soft person, and the warmth that surrounded you was much needed. Your tears stained her shirt, but she didn’t seem to mind as she placed a tender kiss on the top of your head and smoothed your hair.
“I’m so sorry, Y/n. We all thought it too.”
You didn’t say anything as you sniffled more, your sobs coming out wet as you cried.
“Was she lying?” you asked softly, trying your hardest to give Lena the benefit of the doubt, but Kara shook her head. If anyone would be able to tell, it would be her with her super hearing. Even the slightest lie would change someone’s heartbeat and Kara would notice it immediately.
You’re quiet as you slowly calm down. You let yourself go numb, and when Kara felt you sigh against her, she stood back to look at you. She didn’t say anything and you were grateful for it. What was there to be said? There was nothing that you haven’t heard before. There was no new rhetoric. There was only one option: to clean yourself up and pretend it didn’t happen.
You nodded your head to Kara, who left and closed the door behind her. You took the time to splash cold water on your face and rest a cool piece of damp paper towel on top of your red eyes. You could do this. You had to. You didn’t want to be another one of those people with unrequited love, so you’ll bury it down, and never speak of it again.
When you leave the bathroom to join the game again, everyone greeted you with smiles and laughter. Lena almost did the same but she faltered, noticing the small traces of pink still ringed around your eyes. You pushed past it, giving her a smile that even you knew was fake.
It was a couple more hours before everyone started to file out and go home for the night. Alex stood up and looked at you.
“Alright Y/n. You better not be driving. I have a room prepped and ready for you.”
From the corner of your eye, you watched Lena stretch and sigh.
“Yeah I might have to crash here too.”
Alex only had one bed. If Lena wanted to stay, then you would have to share it, and the single thought of that made you want to run for the hills. Kara must of heard your heart because she immediately stepped in.
“I can fly her home,” she offered but you shook your head. You were going to handle this like an adult, which meant almost little to no crying.
“No I’ll crash here.”
Kara nodded and left with the rest of the gang. You and Lena helped Alex clean up some more before you wordlessly head into the bedroom. You only took of your shoes before you got in the bed and buried yourself under a mound of blankets. It was only a few short moments later before Lena came into the room, got herself comfortable, and laid beside you. You were as still as possible, trying to feign sleep, but even you couldn’t fool Lena.
“You were crying.”
It wasn’t a question, just a simple statement. You clenched your teeth as you lie there. You didn’t want to do this. Not right now. Lena, on the other hand, didn’t feel the same sentiment.
“Why?”
“No reason,” you answered immediately, almost too fast. You feel Lena shift behind you, no doubt lying on her side to face you.
“Why, Y/n?” she asked again.
You curled in tighter into yourself as you wrapped the blankets tighter around your body. You really didn’t want to do this. This time Lena sat up, and using her CEO voice, which she knew that you hated when she used her CEO voice on you, asked you the question again.
“Why?”
You sat up so fast, that it startled Lena for a second. You turned the lamp on and looked at her. You hadn’t realized that you were about to cry again until you saw her swimming in your vision. You’re shaking your head as you tried to think this all through.
“I’m an idiot, that’s why!” you whispered harshly to her. “I should have known better and it’s nobody’s fault but mine.”
Lena didn’t say anything, instead, she wiped your tears away with her thumbs.
“Is this about my dare?” she asked, and when you didn’t say anything, she had her answer.
“I know you weren’t lying. Kara told me so, okay? Now that you know, let’s just forget about it.”
You buried you face back into the pillow, hating yourself and hating the fact that you liked the way Lena comforted you.
“I wasn’t lying,” Lena said and you steadied yourself for the final blow. You felt her hand rest on top of your shoulder, and the thought of her about to cut you down had your eyes welling with fresh tears.
“Y/n, I’m in love with you.”
That made you bolt upright and you stared at her incredulously.
“What?!”
Lena giggled and finished wiping away your tears.
“You heard me. I don’t have a crush, I’m in love with you. And I have been for quite some time.”
You’re not sure what to say so you sit there and let Lena clean you up. Suddenly, everything that you’ve felt for the past couple of hours felt silly. Lena was quiet as she let you digest everything that she said.
“You love me?” you squeaked, and Lena nodded. She caressed your cheeks, and before you had a chance to prepare yourself, she kissed you sweetly on the lips. You gasped, your heart stopping dead in your chest, and your fingers tracing your lips in shock.
“And I’m hoping you love me back,” she whispered, suddenly sounding very vulnerable.
Both your heart and your brain kickstarted into gear and before you could think better of it, you pull Lena on top of you and kiss her deeply. It’s crazy that she would even think that you wouldn’t.

B!D x Superfriends
Request: I love your writing and I was wondering if you can do a B!D where she’s covered in tattoos and she looks super scary and rides a awesome modercycle and she meets the super friends for the first and and they’re a little scared of her but she’s actually a really big softie like a bigger softie then kara😂
Warnings: none
Note: ty for saying u luv my writing <3 means a lot thanks for the request! this was fun and simple to write ALSO I JUST REREAD WHAT I WROTE I SAY WICKED SM LOL SORRY its the new england in me hahaa
“What if they don’t like me?” you asked, pacing anxiously.
“Y/N stop worrying! What’s not to like?” Kara said warmly.
“True.” you said grinning.
Alex rolled her eyes, “Yeah besides that big ego of yours”
You just laughed, and thought about the fact that tonight you were going to meet your sisters’ friends for the first time. You’re going to be meeting Lena Luthor, Nia Nal, James Olsen, and Winn Schott. From what you have heard, they are all super nice, but you are still wicked nervous. They were all coming over for movie night at 6pm. You got ready and tried to look good to set a good first impression.
Soon enough, 6pm rolled around. The first person to show up was Lena. She gave her hugs to Kara and Alex who was waiting for her at the door. Then she looked at me and smiled. You could tell she was caught off guard by your tattoos. You don’t blame her... you did have a lot of tattoos.
“I know, pretty crazy tattoos right” you laughed, trying to make sure things weren’t awkward.
“I’m so sorry for staring, it’s so impolite of me. I love them they look great” Lena said kindly.
You smiled back at her, “Thanks, I’m Y/N Danvers”
She reached out her hand, “Lena Luthor”
You ignored her hand and went in for a hug, which was a surprise to Lena, but she hugged you back. You couldn’t help it, you just liked hugs. Then one by one, the rest of the gang showed up. They all were taken back by your tattoos, but none of them were rude about it. You found it wicked funny how they were all scared to say anything about them.
“Alex, did you get a new motorcycle?” James asked, trying to fill the silence with conversation.
“No actually, that mine” you spoke up, smiling.
James gave you a quick smile, “Oh okay”
You could tell it was a little awkward, but you liked them. They were a little intimidated by you, but they were wicked nice about it. You knew that things would get better once they got to know you. They picked out the movie, ‘The Notebook’. You were okay with it. You knew it was sad, but you have never seen it before.
Before you knew it, you were sobbing at the movie. Not just crying... like sobbing. Ugly sobbing. Alex started laughing.
“Y/N are you crying?” she said smiling.
You smiled at her through your obvious tears, “No?”
Alex laughed again.
“Okay fine I’m crying! How are you guys not crying, do you even have hearts?” you said through your cries.
You were expecting someone to laugh, but nobody knew what to say. Finally Lena spoke up.
“Wow. You’re a bigger softie than Kara” she said and chuckled.
You took a second to react. All night, this was the first time someone made a joke to you. You smiled big and looked at Kara who was also laughing at Lena’s joke. Eventually the rest of the gang started laughing to.
Nia spoke up, “I’m really sorry it was awkward in the beginning Y/N, but I’m really happy we met”
“Yeah, you were a little intimidating before we got to know you, to be honest” Winn added.
“It’s okay guys,” you laughed, “I get that a lot, it was a little awkward but you guys were still super nice.”
“She tries to act all tough with her tattoos and motorcycle, but she’s just a baby” Kara said in her mocking-baby-voice which you hate. She tried to squeeze your cheeks but you slapped her hand away.”
“Shut up Kara” you said laughing.
“Yeah shut up Kara, let’s finish the movie, Y/N didn’t finish her sob session” Alex said smiling.
Everyone laughed at Alex’s comment, including you (AFTER you rolled your eyes). You were really glad with the way tonight turned out. You loved Kara and Alex’s friends and you were happy they gave you a chance. You knew that before long, you would fit right in.

"Have you found out anything yet?" Alex asked, masking the desperation in her voice but Winn caught onto it easily.
"Alex No. Stop asking me that every two minutes and leaning over my back like a crow, and staring at the screen won't make her jump out of it magically either." Winn snapped before sending the agent a apologetic look.
"I'm sorry Alex. I know you are worried more than..." Winn paused when Alex gave him a death glare after sitting down on a black chair next to him.
"Oh don't try to fool me. We all know you have a crush on her and you clearly are worried about her safety no matter how much you try to hide it behind your stoic agent facade." Winn went on before hacking away on his computer again as the other agents bustle about in the background.
Alex felt a flush rushing to her cheeks and the tips of her ears turning red at what Winn said. "Shut it Scott and just work on finding her location before I slap the stupid out of you."
Winn smiled to himself. "Oh how you wound me Danvers." Winn said jokingly but continued on the computer.
"Where is Kara?" Winn whispered to Alex suddenly who were absentmindedly playing with the sleeve of her black suit in worry, brown eyes shooting up to look at the back of his head.
Alex pursed her lips together before speaking again, looking down at her combat boots. "She went to tell Lena about (Y/N). I just hope Lena don't freak out on Kara for not telling her last night but we didn't want to worry her. I think even (Y/N) wouldn't like it if Lena worry herself too much and get less rest than she already does." She explained, briefly looking up at Winn and making eye contact before looking down at her hands, fidgeting with her sleeve again.
"She really do care alot about Lena. I'm glad that they know each other." Winn rubbed at the back of his head before turning back to his computer.
"Yeah she does. They both do." Alex whispered and gave a sad smile to mask her jealousy.
Just as Winn went to open his mouth to talk, J'onn walked into the quarters and stopped next to them, grabbing both their attention by clearing his throat.
Alex and Winn immediately looked up at the martian.
"Have you found out anything?" J'onn questioned, eyes briefly scanning over the computer infront of Winn.
"Sadly no but I haven't given up yet. These people have many places and some are hidden away way to good for comfort. They move a lot and split up often to confuse us and I can't pin point who of them got her and where." Winn explained while J'onn let out a sigh, arms folded over his chest, dark eyes watching Alex from the corners as she ran a hand frustratedly through her hair.
"The CADMUS agent still refuse to talk either. All we have gotten out of him so far is rude insults. I guess if he keeps that up I might have to resolve to get the information out of him another way I don't like too much."
Alex suddenly got up and stormed of to where they are keeping the CADMUS agent in a sealed cell while J'onn unfolded his arms.
"I should probably go after her before she beats his behind into oblivion." J'onn left after her with that said.
"And come to me or Alex if you've found anything." J'onn called over his shoulder before disappearing behind two sliding doors down a hallway.
"Righto, let's get started again." Winn rubbed at his neck before turning his full attention back on the task at hand.
"Where can they possibly be keeping you?"
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
"Kara?" Lena walked into her office and noticed the blonde sitting on the white couch in her office.
The blonde Kryptonians head snapped up to the female Luthor, giving her a faint hello and a nervous smile.
"What are you doing here?" Lena questioned, eyebrow raised at the blonde as she walked over to sit on the sofa across from Kara.
"Hi Lena. Your secretary let me in and told me to wait for you here." Kara explained, looking down at her folded hands.
Lena straightened her back, leaning back against the comfy sofa, crossing her one leg over the other, focusing her attention on Kara.
"Where is (Y/N)? Is she okay? You haven't called me back last night." Lena questioned, worry in her voice but most of all authority for in case the blonde might lie to her.
"Uh...about that..."Kara began, nervously fidgeting with her glasses, not too sure how the Luthor will react at her next words.
"Go on." Lena urged, head half tilted to the side, watching the nervous blonde with a icey look.
"She got kidnapped." Kara finally finished after Lena's urge, trying not to cringe and seem to nervous under Lena's icey glare. Kara would never admit it openly but Lena did scare her atleast a little bit.
Lena shot forward, green eyes full of concern. "What? But how? By who? And how do you know?" She demanded, not caring to hide the desperation in her smooth voice.
Kara wring her hands nervously together, lips qursed before looking back at Lena.
"Apparently a group called CADMUS broke into her house and caught her off guard and shot her. When I got there, her room was thrased and uh...Supergirl was there and she told me." Kara hoped Lena would bought the few lies in there and not get exterminated by the female Luthor.
Lena tried to process what Kara just told her, brows furrowing in deep worry before her eyes turned icey again as she looked up at the blonde.
"Kara, why would Supergirl tell you, a random stranger what happened to her?" Lena questioned suspiciously, green eyes narrowing at Kara.
"Uh..."Kara nervously cleared her throat, once again awkwardly fiddling with her glasses. "Supergirl is a friend of mine...somewhat after we've met...when I interviewed her for CatCo once." Kara lied through her teeth, feeling that she might faint out of nervousness at any moment.
Lena narrowed her eyes even more. "You never mentioned being friends with her. And the most important question is why in the world didn't you call me last night to tell me she was kidnapped Kara?!" She raised her voice slightly making Kara flinch back but ignoring it.
Kara looked down at her light pink shoes, lips pursed once again. "I didn't want to worry you. And I'm certain that (Y/N) wouldn't be to happy if you are worried and get even less sleep than you already do." The blonde Kryptonian try to defend herself, getting up from the white sofa, her pink purse clutched in one hand in a firm grip out of nervousness.
Lena got up as well, taking a deep breath before letting it out again in a frustrated huff, pinching the bridge of her nose before rubbing at her pale temple.
"I know. I'm sorry. I'm just worried about her and upset you didn't told me last night." Lena walked over to her desk, black heels clanking against the white tiled floor of her office.
"I really must be going. I have to get back to work. Before Mister Snapper snaps my neck for being late." Kara rushed to the door, halfway out the door already before Lena stopped her, already sat on her deck chair behind her desk.
"Kara, let me know if you find out anything please." Lena pleaded, hands folded on her dark wood desk.
"I will do so. And you know...please don't do anything reckless against CADMUS Lena, I know you are worried but just try to stay calm." Kara urged.
Lena simply waved her of with one hand before typing away on her tablet after taking it out of her bag. "Bye Kara."
Kara let out a breath and left through the door, closing it behind her with a faint click.
"Please be okay (Y/N). I swear I'll strangle that woman with my bare hands if she hurts you again and dare show her face in my presence ever again."
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
"Wakey wakey stupid girl!" One of the CADMUS agents yelled, yanking your head back by your (y/l) (h/c) hair with a painful grip making you gritt your teeth in annoyance, (e/c) snapping op to glare into his dull grey eyes.
"We didn't give you permission to go to sleep again you stupid girl!" He growled out, grabbing you by the neck, tipping the chair that you are painfully tied to with kryptonite infused chains backwards, restricting your breath more and more by each passing second making you struggle to breath and glaring at him with hatred in your eyes.
"Butch don't kill her yet. Boss won't be happy and will skin us all alive if we kill her and her son's favourite weapon." One of the younger agents rush over with panic, grabbing at the arm that the agent is chocking you with.
The agent called Butch let out a groan and released you making you fall to the floor with the chair, coughing and wheezing for air, face flushed red slightly as the agent laughed lowly as he stood next to the tipped chair, looking down at you with a malicious look in his eyes while the younger agent nervously fumbled around before pulling the chair and you upright again with a struggle, you could clearly tell he must be a new recruit and also quite young like the one you've injured badly when they attacked and kidnapped you.
You looked around the vast dark room that seems to be endless and nothing much in sight save for the few agents and a few tables where they have all kinds of experimenting tools and different liquids in bottles. You aren't sure in what kind of place you are kept in, you only know that it must be huge and there is barely any light in the room, just the weak one hanging on the roof above you.
Groaning internally when thinking back to the moment you were taken by CADMUS and Lillian Luthor's smirking face right before you passed out giving you goosebumps all over again while the agent named Butch and the younger agent was having a tiny argument by now.
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
It was well past midnight when Winn came rushing to J'onn, Alex and Kara still trying to get information out of the CADMUS agent to no avail, almost smacking into Kara's back and gaining their attention by the door slamming close behind him.
"Winn? I thought you went home by now." J'onn raised an eyebrow at him.
Winn closed his eyes for a moment, regaining himself before looking at the four looking at him now.
"Uh no. You did say I can go home and get some rest but I've chosen to stay. And I've managed to find something." Winn explained, ignoring the CADMUS agent that was glaring at them from his sealed cell behind them.
J'onn looked a bit more interested now, hoping for the best.
"What is it Scott?" He questioned in his deep voice while Alex and Kara focused on him entirely now too.
"I may or may not have find a possible location or two where they might be keeping (Y/N). There are two groups that seem to have settled down at two locations but the other six groups keep moving about every two hours. I think maybe we can check out those two locations." Winn explained eagerly but not yet wanting to get everyone's hopes up and might end up being wrong.
J'onn contemplated this information over for a few minutes, mauling it over in his head before looking at Kara and Alex that was now next to him.
"What do you two think?" He questioned, already knowing the answer full well but voicing the question anyways.
Alex was the first to speak, a spark of hope and determination in her voice only J'onn and Kara caught onto. "I think we should." Kara eagerly agreed with her sister.
J'onn looked at them for a moment longer before speaking up. "Okay then. But we must send a group to each location at the same time, Alex you'll lead the first group and Ka...Supergirl you'll assist and lead the second group to the other location." J'onn explained, making sure they understand the plan.
Kara went to protest but Alex cut her off. "I'll be fine to lead a group alone. You must assist the other group. I'm capable of protecting myself." Alex left no room for argument for Kara, knowing her sister was only being protective but there wasn't time for that and they were both needed at different locations.
J'onn motioned them to follow him and Winn out of the prison room and led them to the main computers room.
Once they ware there J'onn turned and putted a hand on Kara's armored shoulder. "Kara, your sister will be fine. I'll be going in her group too if it will ease your worry."
Kara nodded her head after a few moments. "I know. And thanks."
J'onn gave her a tiny hint of a smile before turning and walking further into the room, clearing his throat to gain all the agents in the rooms attention as Alex stood to his left with Winn while Kara stood on his right, arms folded over the familiar house of El crest on her superhero suit.
He made a quick explanation of the mission and plan at hand before dividing them in a two groups of six members next to Alex and one group of five next to Kara and getting the locations from Winn.
"The first location is an very old abandoned asylum a few miles out of National City in a wooded area." Winn informed and J'onn nodded.
"Okay, Alex and our group will take a look at that location."
Winn nodded back before looking at Kara and the group of eager agents behind her, feeling happy and prideful that they seem so eager to get you back too.
"The second location is a abandoned rundown subway station that aren't used anymore right in middle of National City. It's seems to be a new favourite place of CADMUS."
Kara unfolded her arms and turned to J'onn and gave him a nod.
J'onn lifted his head slightly in acknowledgement before turning back to the eager agents.
"Suit up, get your weapons ready and get to your assigned location." He ordered with authority making them yell out. "Yes Director Sir!" before taking their leave to get ready.
J'onn thanked Winn before he turned to face Alex and Kara.
"Let's hope she at either one of those locations and that's she is still alive."
Alex quipped up, already fully geared(Just like Kara is already too) since she haven't bothered to change when they started searching for you. "She better be alive. I think she's to stubborn to die or get killed too easily."
J'onn shook his head at that, a hint of a smile at his lips. "You might be right about that." He then turned to Winn.
"Winn, thank you for all the help in finding her." J'onn began and Winn gave him a awkward pat on the shoulder.
"It-it's not a problem Director Sir. Anything to help some friends and people in need." Winn rubbed at his chin.
"Glad to always have your help. Can you please have backup agents ready for both groups incase we might need more help." J'onn ordered and Winn gave a nod.
"Yes Sir." Winn replied before taking his leave as fast as possible, phone already out.
"Let's go rescue (Y/N)." Kara putted an arm around Alex's shoulder and gave her light hug. "And please be careful out there. You never know what that Luthor woman have a her sleeve."
Alex smile at her, patting her arm in assurance. "I'll be okay sis, this won't be my first time without you. And please be careful too." She assured before pulling away from Kara's side hug when J'onn walked up to them with the now fully geared agents behind him.
"Ready to save (Y/N)?"
"Always." Came Alex and Kara's answer at the same time.
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
You awoke to loud snickers and jeering of the CADMUS agents when the slammed what you assume a metal door close from somewhere behind you.
"Look at what I've caught." You heard the familiar tuneless voice of Butch as the other agents start to snicker again and pull faces at what or who you guess he must have in his hateful grasp.
"Boss will be so proud I think. Maybe she'd put me in a even higher rank." He boasted and shuffled closer to where you sat, still tied to the chair as you tried to look over your shoulder to see what's the whole commotion but to no avail, only hurting your neck even more.
"Put on the lights!" Butch yelled out in his nasty voice, making you cringe a little.
Suddenly there were more light in the room than what the weak light already offered, making you screw your (e/c) shut and groan out.
When you opened your eyes and finally see the place you were in you could feel your skin crawl all over again with goosebumps.
Tumblr media
"No wonder this place feels so ghastly." You said under your breath.
Suddenly you heard heavy footsteps behind you and what sounds like slight struggling and voice that was muffled by a hand or something.
You tried to look again but only managed to strain your neck painfully again, making you look forward again and not to mention the painfull ache those kryptonite bullets have left behind when they've shot you back at the apartment, they've found a great pleasure in digging it out of your (s/t) flesh when they've brought you here, the dried blood smeared all over your skin and ruined superhero suit.
"Oh, she can't wait to see what I've caught. Such an impatient little bitch." Butch sneered and then proceeded to throw a very disgruntled and distraught figure on the floor with a painful thud right infront of you as the CADMUS agents cheer loudly by now at who it is.
The person sat up slowly and made eye contact with you, bloodshot light green eyes meeting with your (e/c) eyes making you tense.
"Lena?" You questioned confusedly, way beyond confused now. How in seven hell's have they caught her and where? Was the questions in your mind.
She certainly have seen better days. There was a blood trail running down her chin from a wound on her bottom lip where she clearly was punched by a fist, her long hair a mess. It made your blood boil to think that they have hurted her, glaring at her blood that is smeared on the brut of agent's right hand.
"(Y/N)." Lena said softly, relief filling her eyes when seeying that you are mostly alive, just the blood and wounds that cover your body that still have her on edge.
Butch motioned to a middle aged agent to bring another chair which he quickly ran to do and grabbed one that the others aren't sitting on, putting it against your back.
Butch grabbed Lena by the hair roughly, a low hiss falling from her bloodied lips as he proceeded to force her onto the chair and tying her up too against you so you are back to back.
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
Gosh, so many ideas but I don't know which one's to use in the next chapter. Hope this chapter wasn't a disappointment to any of you but I'm trying my best.

Never I’ve ever. (Baby danvers reader x Lena Luthor.)
Summary : you’re secretly dating Lena for two months. You haven’t told your sisters (Kara and Alex) yet because you’re quite afraid of their reaction (because Lena is older and they are quite protective around you) even if Lena is okay with it, she respects your decision to wait. One day Maggie ran into the two of you making love. You made her swear to never tell anyone. She agreed but said that you have to tell your sisters, that they would completly undertand. Tonight is the night of revelation, you’re planning to tell your sisters, you and Lena are dating but you’re too afraid. So Maggie has got a devilish plan ! She is quite a tease you know.
Warnings : Gifs are not mine. Mention of sex.
Enjoy ;). If you want me writing prequel where Maggie surprises the reader and Lena making love, or a part two, let me know :).
Tumblr media
You were at the bar getting yours and Kara’s drinks and deep in your thoughts while the waiter was preparing them. You and Lena had planned to tell your sisters tonight, but you didn’t know how to bring the subject in the conversation. And you were scared of their reaction. You knew there wasn’t any reason to be, because, well they’re your sisters and you loved each others. Yet, you were sweating at the thought of it.
« So baby danvers ! » Maggie said making you jump. “Are you ready ?”
She had a smile on her lips. Clearly she was enjoying it very much. Too much according to you.
“No. I’m not. What if they tell Lena she is...”
“They won’t I can assure you.” She said putting a hand on your shoulder. There was a moment of silence as if she was thinking, then she spoke. “I may have an idea. Do you trust me ?”
“Yeah ?” You wasn’t sure about that.
Her smiled grown wide and it scared you a bit.
“What do you have in mind ?” you said.
“You’ll see little danvers !” She said as she returned at the table where Lena, your sisters, Winn, James and Mon El were sitting. You caught Lena’s glance at you and the smile she gave to you sent shivers in your spine and butterflies in your stomach. Yeah everything will be fine ! Then you saw Maggie winked at you and you had a bad feeling about all of this.
“A Virgin Mojito and a Martini.” said the bartender giving to you two glasses.
“Thank you !”
You paid and you returned to your table. Kara welcomed you with cheers as you had her drink.
“Thanks for the Mojito (Y/N). Even if alcool don’t really do anything to me, I must say this coktail is so delicious.”
You were about to sit between her and Alex but Maggie interrupted your move.
“Oh (Y/N) there’s room between me and Lena.”
You caught her wicked smile. What was on her mind ? You really started to worry. Then you sit between your almost sister in law and you secret girlfriend. Who discreetly entrelaced her fingers to yours under the table. Her soft touch was reassuring you as everyone started conversations.
“We should play a game !” Say Maggie suddenly.
“Yeah ! Great idea !” Winn agreed. “Wich one ?”
“How about : Never I’ve ever ?”
“Are you sure about that ?” asked Alex with a frown. “I don’t really want to see my baby sister drunk after two sips.”
“Hey !” you protested “I’m not that brittle. I can handle alcool !”
“Yeah... Do you remember when you danced on the table last time. You only drank two beers (Y/N)” said Kara apologetically.
And everyone in the table nodded, inclued Lena.
“Come on you two ! She is an adult ! Let her live !” Maggie defended you and you were suprised. You found by the look of her that this was the part of her plan. “This game will prove you that your baby danvers is not a baby anymore. So who begins ? (Y/N) ?”
“Okay.”
You thought for a moment before speaking again :
“Never I’ve ever lied to my parents.”
Everyone looked sternly at you.
“What ?”
“Seriously (Y//N) haven’t you got more boring question ?” said Winn.
“Okay, okay, let me think... Never I’ve ever come home so drunk that my baby sister has to lie to my parents about me getting sick to cover me.”
“I hate you (Y/N)” Alex said drinking one sip, shoting you a furious glance and you chuckled.
“Okay Lena your turn.” said Maggie.
“Never i’ve ever be mad in love with someone.”
“So cute.” Maggie commented and everyone drank. Lena caressing your hand and smiling at you. You smiled back getting her adorable message.
Winn and Mon El went next with some question. Then it was Kara’s turn.
“Never I’ve ever be afraid of high.”
“That’s easy for you, you can fly !” you groaned drinking with Winn. You sister stick her tongue at you.
“Never I’ve ever be a total baby when I am sick.” said Alex looking at you in the eyes.
You sighed. Your sisters were really annoying tonight.
“You guys plan to get me drunk or what ?”
And you drank.
“Ok, it’s my turn.” Said Maggie with the same wicked smile as ealier. “Never I ever had sex at work.”
Ok that wasn’t so bad, you thought. Then you saw Lena blush and drink one sip of her beer. Oh god. You remember now.
“Hahaha I knew  that Lena Luthor has a thing for office sex !” said Maggie.
Oh you have no idea you thought blushing too.
Then you saw James drink too.
“No way !” said Kara. “You ?!”
“Yeah... why not !” He told with a smirk.
Then it was your turn again.
“Never I’ve ever use my officer badge to have some free food.” you said.
“Fair” Maggie conceed with fairplay driking her vodka.
You knew what she was planning but you’re totally in. You hasn’t be the one to suffer. You will make her regret her stupid idea. You were deeply in thought and it was Maggie’s turn again. Her Wicked smile was wide as ever.
“Never I’ve ever call my girlfriend/boyfriend, Daddy during sex.”
You went pale, then red. No she hadn’t dare... you watched her with disbelief and she smirked at you. Then you heard Alex groan and say.
“Seriously baby... I didn’t need my sisters to know that” and she drank.
And Kara made a sound of disgust.
“Totally worth the look of your face” responded Maggie but looking at you not at her girlfriend.
She knew it of course, because when she caught you and Lena, she heard you. Oh God she promised never tell anyone. She was pure evil. You took you glass, hand trembling and face totally blushing and you drank earning silence at the table as everyone stared at you, mouth open.
“... and I totally didn’t want to know that about my baby sister.” added Alex still in shock.
“Me neither” murmured pale Kara. “ And I even can’t drink enough to make me forget about it.”
You were mortified and after your turn, Lena decided to avenge you.
“Never I’ve never promising my friends that I would help themp and get to tease them at the end.” She said, looking Maggie in the eyes.
Still, the inspector smiled and drink after murmuring that this was still totally worth it.
A complete turn passed and then this was at Maggie again. And you knew what she was goign to say.
“ Never I’ve ever be called daddy by my boyfriend/girlfriend during sex.” And she drank starring again at Lena who drank after her.
“What ?!” Alex almost screamed looking between you and Lena as she seemed to understand.
“ Oh I didn’t know you were a top Lena” Said Kara totally oblivious at the revelation.
“Kara... you don’t understand.” Alex told her.
“What ?”
“And i’m going to ask a second question, because that’s my game and I do everything I want : Never I’ve never be, and still be, in love realtionship with someone at the table.”
Kara, Mon El, Alex and her drank and then, Alex and her looked at you. You turn you head towards Lena.
“Cheers ?” she said with her glass up.
“Cheers...” you murmured and then drank with her.
There were a silence as everyone figured out what juste happened and Maggie was smiled at you.
“Wait... (Y/N) and Lena are together ?” realised Kara. “Like a couple ?”
Everyone nodded.
“That’s great !” She said smiling at each of you.
“Yeah this part is great.” Conceed Alex. “Kara... you DO realise that we’ve just learnt that our babysister and Lena had a dady kink in bed ?!”
“I told you she wasn’t a baby anymore.” Said Maggie with a smile. “Job’s done little danvers.”
“Ahd how do you know about this ?” asked Alex suspciously.
“Well...” sarted Maggie.
“NO !” Lena interrupted her. “You don’t want to know about it Alex.”
Kara and Alex looked at each others.
“Well... I think i’m going to get drunk to forget about the daddy kink part, but i am happy about you two. Really. I love you (Y/N) and I’m happy you choose someone as lovely as Lena.”
“Yeah we are.” said Kara “Cheers to the two lovebirds.”
Everyone cheers you up and Lena kissed you tenderly.
“I knew everything was going to be fine.” She said to you. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” You answered. “And I think it’s my turn.”
You looked at Maggie.
“Never I’ve ever used my handcuff in bed.”
“You’re dead little danvers” she said drinking again.
“Payback is a bitch Sawyer”.

Agent Softy
I want some Alex x reader fluff, if that's alright? Like, Alex is being all tough around the superfriends and stuff but as soon as R gets her undevided attention she turns soffftttt. Just sweet cuddles and fluff my heart needs love
A/n: this was fun to write, I hope you like it anon!
Words: 1005
Warning: none
Tumblr media
You walk into the downtown building, visitors pass pinned and arms loaded with food. Taking the elevator was a juggling act but you made it to the control room without any spills. Dumping the paper bags onto the desk, you startle Kara, but she quickly pulls you into a hug.
“Y/n! What are you doing here? Not that I don’t want you here, you brought food. A-and you brought yourself too!” Your laugh cuts Kara off, causing her to pout as you shake your head at her.
“I know you haven’t eaten between fighting that alien earlier and you have an article for Snapper due soon so I brought you food. Can’t have you dying on us.” Kara grins as you pull out different kinds of Potstickers, practically buzzing by the time she has a container opened. “Those bags are for you and these two are for me and Alex, I know she hasn’t eaten either. Is she in her office?”
Kara shakes her head, swallowing the barely chewed potsticker before gesturing towards a hallway. “She’s running some drills with the agents, they should be done by now if you want to go check it out.”
“Thanks Kar.” You drop off the other bags with Winn, pulling out a container and giving it to him so he can eat. With instructions to guard the bags from Kara with his life (with a full cheek pout from the alien in question) you make your way down the hallway.
Finding the training room, you grabbed a paintball gun off the rack and entered. Following the sound of Alex’s voice, you quickly find them gathered in the center of the room. Clicking off the safety, you aimed at your girlfriends back and shot, ducking behind the barrier as she cussed. Grinning, you listened as she went around the circle trying to figure out who shot her. Rounding the corner, gun raised above your head and a shit eating grin on your face, you call out to her.
“Sorry Agent, my safety must have been off.” Alex whipped around, eyes hard before realizing it was you, and quickly melted. The surrounding agents must have seen it too because there were a couple snickers from the braver stupider of the agents.
Alex snapped around to one of the laughing agents, gaze icy. “Something funny, Hernandez?” The agent, a built younger guy, quickly stood at attention. With no response, Alex glared him down. “I’m adding on extra training hours, until you can tell me what was so funny.” Turning to Vasquez, who was smirking at the scene in front of them, Alex narrowed her eyes. “Run them all through another round of drills.” At the confirmation, Alex turned to leave. Following Alex, you mouthed a Thank You to the quiet agent, smiling when they nodded.
Arriving at Alex’s office after a quick detour to Winn, you set the bags down and start pulling out containers. Naming out the food you got, you’re interrupted when Alex spins you around into her. Before you can protest Alex has her mouth fitted onto yours, holding you by the hips as you kiss. Breaking away, you rest your forehead on hers.
“Not that I’m complaining,” Alex says a little breathlessly, smile on her face. “But why are you here?”
“Well, I know you haven’t eaten,” Before she can protest you give her a look, quickly shutting her up. “You can’t say otherwise, I know you haven’t. So I brought you some food, plus I can’t make it to Game Night tonight because of work.” You give her another short kiss before moving away, grabbing your container of food and sitting on one of the desk chairs.
“Ya know, some good ole intimidation could get you the night off.” Alex wiggled her eyebrows as she grabbed her food. Laughing, you shake your head. Alex pouts but doesn’t suggest it any further. After finishing your food and talking about Alex’s latest projects, your alarm goes off and you leave the DEO, promising to call Alex later tonight.

Boxes of pizza were opened on the coffee table and the superfriends were gathered on the couches and floor, Winn and Kara currently in an argument on which game to play.
“Not Monopoly.” Alex yells over her sisters suggestion, immediately gaining a pout from the Kryptonian. When she demands why, Alex simply shrugs. “Lena’s a CEO, she wins everytime.” Hearing her name, Lena turns from J’onn and sticks her tounge out at Alex.
“What’s the matter, Agent? Don’t think you can beat me?” Eyebrow raised in a clear challenge, Lena smirks.
“Is that a challenge, Luthor?” Alex grins, ready to pull out all the stops in order to beat the young heiress. At Lena’s nod, Alex tells Kara to set it up. Ignoring Winn’s groan, the game is set up. Halfway through, Lena in the lead with Alex not far behind, the door to the apartment opens.
Too lost in a haggle with Lena, Alex doesn’t notice you hovering behind her, head tilted and a fond smile on your face. “That’s a terrible decision, Al, you’ll lose money on it.” You let out a shout as Alex spins around and pulls you over the couch, landing on her lap.
“I thought you weren’t gonna make it?” Alex says, voice muffled against the side of your neck.
“I wasn’t but I made a deal with a buddy of mine and we traded shifts,” You shrug, dislodging Alex. Lifting her head, Alex notices Winn trying to hide his laughter.
“Something funny, Shott?” Noticing Alex’s icy glare directed his way, Winn stops laughing.
“N-nothing- nothing!” Winn ran off to the kitchen, leaving Alex with a smug grin.
“What he means,” Lena says, ignoring Winn’s silent begging. “Is your getting soft Danvers.”
Alex scoffed, her only answer is telling Kara to roll. When everyone else is preoccupied Alex turns to you. “Hear that, your ruining my reputation.”
“You love it.” You smile, feeling Alex nuzzle the side of your head.
“Yeah, I do.”
