Draculaura is my comfort character✨

She's my everything and my favorite character of all the time. She always makes me happy, she made me who I am today. Draculaura has always been with me for the past 14 years. I wish i had a friend like her, i love Draculaura so much!

I need to start posting my Basil Adventure photos here more. And I have museum and art gallery blogging I kept meaning to do here!! But anyway. Here's some photos from our used books store trips this week (two different days)

This bookstore is well-known for having store cats (their oldest cat Eleanor, one of the sweetest kitties I've ever known, recently passed at 17 years old :( ), and they have a trio of very young kittens right now! I didn't realize until I took basil over the last weekend. (The store allows dogs! As long as the dogs are well-behaved. Basil mostly ignores cats, thankfully.)

Two of the kittens were so obsessed with Basil. I'm not exaggerating, the tortie and the orange kitten both stalked him through the entire shop. I walked in circles and they still followed us lol. The tortie seemed curious but calm, their hackles never went up, but that orange kitty looked like a hunter after prey. It was ready to THROW DOWN.

We went a couple days ago (red sweater day) and the tortie was chilling somewhere but the orange kitty shot up from its nap to chase us around the store. In those last two photos it kept raising it's paw and then slowly lowering it, like it couldn't decide whether to beat Basil up or not. They're so cute... Basil was so confused... I love cats...

The war has not only destroyed our lives; it has taken everything from us. Our home, which was once our refuge, is now a pile of rubble 🏚️.

My car, my only source of livelihood, was destroyed in a sudden strike 🚗, and the work that sustained us is now a distant memory 💼. Today, I live in an endless nightmare. Under a sun that burns everything in its path 🌞🔥, my family and I sit in a worn-out tent, a tent that shields us neither from the summer heat nor the winter cold ❄️. I have been going to a lot more museums lately now that I am medicated again + the weather has been improving. Since I get EBT I can get into most of the museums here for free with access to special exhibits... It's really nice... Anyway gonna just start a museum visits tag to share things lol

Last week I went to the MoPOP for the world premiere of a Laika Studios exhibit!! I have not seen a single Laika film besides Coraline, but I really did love Coraline a lot as a child (both book and movie.) So that was enough to convince me to go. It was super worth it, they had every single puppet and the major diorama sets of each film they've worked on. Each room was decorated to look like the movie for that section, and had a documentary film about the creation process playing... And they had a preview of their new movie Wildwood i guess but I walked right past it lmao.

I did not get many very good photos of close ups of the actual tiny details or broken down puppetry in glass cases, because of people's/my reflections in the background... But it was really fun to see all the diorama sets up-close, because there is so much detail that you just cannot catch in the films. I took like 40 photos alone of the fabric pieces case for Coraline, I just went fucking hogwild over how carefully the outfits and accessories were sewn together for this.

Anyway it was nice!! I am hopefully going again since it's open here until 2024.
