I been finally been playing through p3r episode aigis and having played isat I’m insane

Also I watched through some Q2 cutscenes and the fucking connection my brain made with Kotone and Loop holy shit.

Seeing a version of your friends, your family, but when they look at you all they see is a stranger. Saying hello, hoping to be known, but they don’t recognize you.

Meeting and helping your replacement, in part envying them, but also feeling kinship and a deeper connection than you could possibly have with anyone else. Seeing them interact with your family in place of you, wishing you could just interact with your friends like you remember, but they don’t know you. They know them. I’m insane. I’m literally insane.

Awww, stop, you're gonna make me blush!! 🤭 hehe, it is flattering to that I'm the JunHam artist...and at the same time kind of unexpected??? 😅 I never thought I would come to love these characters and ship so much, but every little content of it made me start to fall more and more for them. Sweet, funny, heartbreaking, there are just SO many layers and themes to explore with them! 🤗 So, as a fan AND as an artist, I want to let people see more of them and enjoy their interactions. They also hold a dear place in my heart because drawing them has made me try and push my own art skills to see if I could portray things I wouldn't usually draw. Thanks to that, I have improved a little and discovered that I can draw more *complex* themes...even if my art-style itself is still rather simple 😅 I really love them, so even if sometimes it makes me feel bittersweet... I still want and plan to continue drawing them in the future! 🤗💖💖💖

Tatsumi Port Memorial Hospital 

“What do you mean transferred!?” 

Yukari Takeba stands in the hallway of the hospital, quivering. It is graduation day, and the old members of S.E.E.S, after an hour of debate, have agreed to come visit the Arisato twins to tell them and catch them up on the goings-ons of the city. 

Only to find out that the twins had been transferred to a different hospital. 

“Takeba-san, please calm down! Kirijo-sama approved it!” The doctor pleads, and Yukari turns her wrath and despair upon her girlfriend, the esteemed head of the Kirijo group. 

“You approved it!? Why!?” She demands, eyes flashing. Mitsuru remains ever calm, gently placing a hand on Yukari’s shoulder. 

“They were running out of room in the LTAC, and their conditions were stable, so I had them transferred to Inaba Muncipal Hospital- they had plenty of open rooms to take care of the twins.” 

Fuuka hums thoughtfully, her head tilted slightly like she would when using Juno back in the days of the Dark Hour and Tartarus. Both eradicated thanks to the sacrifice of the twins. “Inaba, huh...? That isn’t too far from here. Maybe we can visit once we’re all settled down and free?” 

Aigis nods, staring wistfully at the door to the Arisatos’ old room. She had been looking forward to seeing them for a week, planning to visit them immediately after the ceremony to tell them she had graduated alongside Yukari, Junpei, Fuuka and Shinjiro (and to tell them he had to redo his third year because of everything. They’d probably poke fun at him, but be proud nonetheless that he made the choice- and succeeded in it.) 

“Yes,” she says, really not paying attention. “Maybe.” 

April 11th, 2011 

Inaba Muncipal Hospital 

In Inaba, a boy arrives to town after dreaming of a long-nosed man and a bright blue limousine. He shakes the hand of a goddess at a gas station, and is awakened to the powers of the Wildcard. 

Across town, two Wilcards open their eyes as the hands of the boy and goddess meet. Their hands find each other in their own handshake, their hearts racing in unison and their chests rising and falling as though they share a pair of lungs. 

They remain like that until a nurse comes in and tells a doctor. In three days’ time, they will be discharged and sent with all their belongings to a house bought and paid for by a company called the Kirijo group. 

Perhaps the Dark Hour does have some perks. 

June 5th, 2011 

Junes Food Court

“Man... I’m not the only one who thinks those two from our third year are weird as hell, am I?” 

Yosuke lounges back in his chair at the special headquarters, melon soda in his hand. 

Chie shakes her head. “No, it isn’t just you for once. I know I can’t really judge, but... Isn’t it kinda strange how they just sorta showed up one day?” 

“Uh... You’re talkin’ about the Arisato-senpais, right?” Kanji asks, and Souji nods. 

“They were comatose for a while, but woke up the day I got here. I don’t know much about it, but... They seem nice.” 

He glances away, not mentioning his social link with them. They really are quite nice, always giving him advice and sometimes even offfering to train with him when they aren’t busy beating the crap out of each other on the outskirts of town near their house. 

But they also seem to know more about him than they let on. Makoto sometimes mentions the arcana of one of the members of the team, and Kotone often mentions her old senpais and Shadows. 

It’s disconcerting, to say the least, and paired with their own arcana... 

He makes a mental note then, as he remembers, to talk to Igor about it. Ask him what in the hell the Universe arcana means, and if he needs to worry about it. 

He snaps back to reality as Yukiko begins to talk. 

“I’m not one for gossip, but don’t you think it’s a little strange how they always seem to be training with those weapons of theirs? I mean, there’s nothing wrong with it, of course! It’s just...” 

“It’s just that it’s all the time, right? I get it. Sure, they’re our senpais, but there’s no harm in just talking about their weird  behaviour between ourselves, right?” Yosuke says, chair squeaking beneath him. 

“Oh, here they come now!” Chie says, and begins digging into her steak. Souji looks up from his soda to see Kotone-senpai shouting to Makoto-senpai. 

“Come on, hurry up! You’re the one who neglected studying!” 

Makoto-senpai slouches further, shoving one hand into his pocket. His headphones dangle from his neck, swinging with his every movement. Kotone-senpai’s own mirror his, bouncing wildly with her erratic movements as she practically drags him to a chair. 

“Kotone, is this really necessary? I mean, Gekkoukan’s exams are way harder, and we’re both...” 

Their voices fade into the background of Souji’s mind. Something isn’t right. TV static fades in and out as he zones out, wracking his brain for the source of this sudden gut feeling. 

It started exactly when he became aware of the twins and their existence. Somehow, he feels a terrifyingly strong presence from them, as though the bond he’s formed with them isn’t just affecting his abilities. 

But that shouldn’t be possible, a little voice inside tells him. Neither of them have a Persona. 

But what if they did, he thinks. What if they did have Personas, what if they knew about what the team is doing? 

“—Earth to Souji, do you copy?” 

Souji looks up from the table, blinking as Yosuke retracts his hand. 

“Hm? Sorry, I... Zoned out there. What’s up?” He says, playing it off. Playing off the sick feeling roiling in his gut, the sudden fight-or-flight that rises in his throat and threatens to choke him. He needs to visit the TV world. He needs to blow off some steam, he needs to get up and do something before he explodes. 

“We were asking if you had anything planned for this afternoon. Y’know, in case we wanted to do a bit of, uh, browsing,” Yosuke says. Souji silently thanks his partner, catches his eye and tries to convey his gratitude with his gaze. Yosuke just grins a bit, and it sends butterflies fluttering in his stomach- which quickly get disintegrated by the venom bubbling there. 

“Sure, let’s go browsing. Might be fun,” he says, shrugging off the feelings. 

As the group head down towards the electronics section, Souji swears he can feel two pairs of eyes watching him leave. 

P3 x P4 CONTENT WOOOOOO!!! the arisato twins being tranferred to inaba after the whole nyx situation and souji just. feels so weird towards them. they're the fucking UNIVERSE arcana?!!! WHAT IS HE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THAT INFORMATION. and hes just so confused that these random transfer students have this much power radiating from them?? they seem completely normal but souji is so focused on them since they're such an anomaly....

Here's a random question that popped into my head: How does Riku regard Minato/Minako? Since Mitsuru and Yukari probably have photos of them in photo albums, Riku probably saw them, got curious and asked about them. How much would Mitsuru and Yukari tell him about them and how would Riku react?

OK so two things.

1. Everything I say is subject to change here. I actually feel like this should be in my blog bio LMAO I am forever changing bits and pieces of Captain's lore and story. I have accepted that this is just part of the creative process and I want to put time into this silly AU so uh yeah. Take everything I say with a pinch of salt.

2. The actual answer:

Well... They're actually both alive for this AU 😸 In Captain Minato and Kotone (my preferred names for them) are twins (surname Arisato) and as I said they are both alive and well :] I still haven't really thought of an explanation as to WHY its just the twins surviving the Great Seal is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine in Persona fics so i decided to include it here :]

Persona Protagonists are interesting for me because each of them have their own established personality but I do think there's a bit of room to throw in your own interpretation too! Particularly because of having the multiple dialogue options. At least that's how I personally do things. Because of this, I do find it difficult to nail down exactly how I would incorporate them both into the AU, and subsequently their relationship with Riku (I'll admit this is actually true for a lot of SEES hence why I barely mention it).

However I think I can at least say this - Riku definitely looks up to both of them as really cool figures in his life, he admires their natural leadership skills for one. The three of them have something in common - each of them are really good at masking how they're actually feeling - Minato has his "I don't care attitude", Kotone has this cheerful polite persona (which is also very much a mask) and Riku has his whole bravado look at me thing going on. And the former two are very very good at seeing past the latter's BS LOL.

As for how much Riku actually knows, he does know a fair bit of what happened during the events of P3. Just not the whole death living inside Kotone/Minato + them somewhat dying to seal away Nyx thing. Yeah that's a story he isn't gonna understand for a WHILE (unless you wanna count CATT AU)

Kotone laid in bed, wrapped in her blanket. It was warm outside, almost spring. So why did she feel so cold?

She kept her door closed. She didn't want to deal with people right now, and hoped that the door being closed would do enough for that, since hers didn't have a lock. Right now... she just wanted to sleep. A nice long rest would do her nicely...

Her eyelids felt heavy. There wasn't any harm in closing them, right? She was... she was here, wasn't she?

She found thinking difficult. Ugh, she hated when that happened. Best to just... get some rest...

Her eyes closed, more on their own than her movement. She was alright with that. The bed was nice and comfy... She had plenty of time to rest.

She felt her skin getting colder. Why... why did it feel so cold? She was wrapped in a comforter, her fan was off.

Her consciousness faded, and her breathing slowed. It wasn't something she was cognizant of, but anyone outside could tell. 3 seconds between breaths... 4.... 5... Exhale... Inhale... Exhale... Inhale...

Exhale... ... Inhale...

Exhale...

In...hale...

Ex..ha...le...

Her vision started to open into a black void. She... Recognized this void. This was... This was where that butterfly guy was.

"You return... so soon after you were sent away."

"... I do, yes."

"I trust you remember why you were sent back before."

"... I do. Yes."

"I see. What is your name, young girl?"

Her name... Such a simple question, and yet she couldn't answer it before. Why couldn't she answer it then?

"Kotone Shiomi."

"Your true name, young one."

... Right... That's why.

"If you cannot answer it... I'm afraid little can be done about your current situation."

"... Minako Arisato."

It came to her, like air rushing to fill her lungs. A name she hadn't gone by in years. A name she tried to bury.

"So you do remember... Few can remember their names in my domain... Fewer still can remember one so entrenched in their subconscious."

The butterfly masked man paused for a moment, regarding Kotone. It was as if he was staring into her soul.

"Do you know the nature of Persona, Minako?"

What...? What kind of question was that?

"They're the mask we wear to face life's troubles. Igor said as much when I became a guest of the Velvet Room."

"A... simple explanation, but one that will suffice. Though... For one such as yourself, you may have found you wear too many masks."

Memories flooded into the forefront of her memory. The softball game before the crash... The first orphanage... The car crash... The... corpses of her parents... and her baby brother...

She collapsed to the ground, screaming in agony. Why... Why show her all these?

"You have been running... Ever since that day, you've tried to hide from yourself... Those ten long years, you suppressed every memory you had of your history..."

More memories... The Buddhist family that converted her to the religion... The robbery at the second orphanage...

"Suppressing oneself so much is... dangerous, to say the least."

She felt those memories... leave. Her mind was clear for a moment, long enough for her to look up.

"Hello. My name's Minako."

the desired timeline || Minako and Minato Arisato as the leaders || ending up with Shinjiro Aragaki

     --> follows the story of persona 3 portable // the Answer is slightly different, seeing as Shinjiro is alive. Arena and Ultimax end up the same way as the default timeline but some things do differ. Shinjiro does not join the Shadow Operatives, but supports them on the side--more of an Auxiliary member. Fuuka still tries her best to form a stronger relationship with him, even though he’s always a step behind her. Minako becomes like Minato in this timeline--able to rejoin the group with a limited amount of power and Personas, but still stays in the background for the most part seeing that Minato sacrificed himself for everyone. and because she's sorta OP. Leading into persona 5 lore, Fuuka infiltrates Shujin Academy as a teacher’s aid, specifically for Kawakami. She can sense the new persona users, but wants to see what will happen and carefully watches over them.

     --> In this timeline, she meets her brother, Yasonobu Yamagishi [ @doctor-yamagishi​ ]. Of course, it is very rocky and very disastrous since she never knew of him being his twin sibling. They met by happenstance and they don't realize they are related at first. It takes seeing Nobu's request on the PhanSite about his parents, which are Fuuka's parents as well. This leads to Fuuka finding out her parents deep dark secret and leads to Yasonobu having a palace. She helps the Phantom Thieves enter the palace--this leads to her being kidnapped by his shadow self, and after getting herself mentally destroyed, a palace is created and Fuuka’s shadow self is released. This leads to the Phantom Thieves having to call on the Shadow Operatives, especially Minako and Shinjiro, to help them. Eventually, this brings her brother into the fray, knowing how to help her--it helps him awaken to the persona Ikutsuki tried his hardest to get out of when he was little--and leads to Shinjiro cutting away the shadow self [ and doubts ] inside of Fuuka. This leads to Fuuka awakening to a third tier Persona, Gaia, which is further explained here.

Notes (will add on much later)

Fuuka and Shinjiro don’t move in together until the events after Arena. Koromaru joins them and eventually Ken stays with them on the weekends or for vacations.

They date. For a long, long, long time. Minako pesters the ever loving hell out of them, wanting to know why it’s taking them forever to go to the next step. Yukari joins in too.

Shinjiro and Minako are the last resort team members--because Minako is still somewhat OP and because Shinjiro is strong AF if maxed out in levels.

After Fuuka awakens to her third tier Persona, Gaia, Fuuka is more confident and more outgoing. She also keeps in close contact with her brother, trying her hardest to spend more time with him.

Junpei and Chidori are living together happily.

This timeline is loosely based off the fanfic Ace in the Hole on AO3.

Just a small guide to help newcomers understand all the names and nicknames/fannames for their fav Persona MCs. Keep in mind this is main games/nameless MC's only (so I won't list Aigis in the P3 but I will mention Maya as well as the notes at the bottom, this is due to how I structured P2 vs P3 sections) (Edit: may add to this list later but it's pretty complete for now)(Edit 2: Note that Shunjiko translates as Protagonist/Hero/Main character):

Persona 1:

P1MC: shorthand for Persona 1 Main Character

(P1) Hero/Shunjiko: Japanese generic title

Boy with Earring: In-game moniker

Naoya Toudou: Manga name

Yuuya Narumi: (one of the) DramaCD names (note: other dramaCD is just labeled "protagonist")

Jihei Suzakuin: Novel name

Persona 2:

Tatsuya Suou: MC for P2 Innocent Sin, can be renamed and it'll carry over in EP (and Katsuya's last name will change as well)

Maya Amano: MC for P2 Eternal Punishment. Cannot be changed, just like Aigis

Kazumi Kiba: MC for the manga Persona: Tsumi to Batsu. (not really related to the games but it takes place right before P2EP, Edit: mentioned him because I've seen some people think he's suppose to be an adaptation of Tatsuya or something when he's just a different character all together)

Persona 3 (Male):

P3MC: Short hand for Persona 3 Main Character

(P3) Hero/Shunjiko: Japanese generic title

Kitaro: The Japanese Fanname, due to his resemblance to the main character Kitaro from Gegege no Kitaro.

Minato Arisato: Manga name

Makoto Yuki: Movie name (*gets adopted later into games)

Sakuya Shiomi: Stage Play Name

Leader: Generic Name for MC in Drama CDs and such

Roger: A name used in AtlusUSA marketing (maybe related to this line in the game?)

Door-kun: (English) Western fandom joke nickname, spoiler reasons.

Gettaro/Tsukitaro* Yamada: provisional name for P3MC in the movies' script. A play on Kitaro. (thanks @aliliceswonderland for reminding me, as well as the other's! TToTT)

Persona 3 (Female):

P3FeMC or just FeMC (sometimes/old variations FeShe or MShee): Shorthand for (Persona 3) Female Main Character. Since SMT if/Tamaki, Maya, and Aigis have fixed names (in Persona canon), this one is usually who people mean when they hear "FeMC." Though some might use this word as a "what if" for P4/5/6 having a female protagonist. But it's usually for the P3 one.

Leader: Generic Name for FeMC in DramaCDs and such

(P3) Heroine/Josei Shunjiko : Japanese generic title

Hamuko (Arisato): The Japanese fanname, IF Arisato is used, it's derived from the P3MC's manga name.

Minako Arisato: The Western Fanname, derived from Minato Arisato but making it "ko" since a lot of females use that name (note: Minato is actually a unisex name to begin with)

Makoto Yuki: P3MC's movie name. SOME adopted this name after the movie was release due to being a unisex name)

Kotone Shiomi: Stage Play Name (*only official name she's gotten, and unlike P3/4/5MCs whose names were taken from anime adaptions, she's the only one to have her's taken from the stage play).

Door-Chan: (English) Western fandom joke nickname, spoiler reasons.

Canon-chan/Non-canon-chan: (English) Western fandom joke nickname, usually in regards to her canon status. (answer: she is canon)

Lunako Gekko: Name used for Famitsu article

Persona 4:

P4MC: Short hand for Persona 4 Main Character

(P4) Hero/Shunjiko: Japanese generic title

Leader: Generic Name for MC in Drama CDs and such

Bancho(u): Japanese Fan Nickname (he's also called this in Arena's files, short hand for his Arena fighter title)

Souji Seta/Soji Seta: Manga Name

Yu Narukami: Anime Name (*was later used for games)

Various Stage Names: Unlike the P3MCs who have a fixed stage play name, P4's gimmick was to change the name each showing. The ones used in the DVDs are: "Yuuya Seta" for the first one, "Hayato Asakawa" for the second. (complete list, at least for the 2nd stage play coming soon)

Charlie "Chuck" Tunoku: Giant Bomb Endurance run of P4 (I think this is the more famous one)

Kenpachi Ramasama/Ramasama Kenpachi: Two Best friends play P4

Chad: (English) Western fandom joke nickname, something something blame the anime (originated around it's run) esp the scene with the King's game. He got all the chicks or something.

Persona 5:

P5MC: Short hand for Persona 5 Main Character

(P5) Hero/Shunjiko: Japanese generic title

Joker: His in-game code name

Akira Kurusu: Manga name

Ren Amamiya: Anime Name (*was later used for games)

Various Stage Names: Like P4, they adopted the gimmick of doing different names each showing. The ones used on the DVDS are: "Itsuki Onda" for the first one, "Naoki Toudou" for the second one, "Nozomu Akase" for the third one, and "Kaito Shinno" for the forth/last one. (complete list here)

Chair-kun: In reference to the original teaser for P5 (there were a lot of chairs)

Pego: Fan nickname for P5MC, usually english fandom from what I've seen. Stands for Pe(rsona) and Go (aka 5 in japanese). It's a very common one and I...literally forgot TT0TT

Akiren: Alternative fan nickname for P5MC, for fans that like both Akira and Ren's names but don't want to choose I suppose.

Persona 5 X:

P5XMC: Short hand for Persona 5X Main Character

(P5X) Hero/Shunjiko: Japanese generic title

Wonder: His In-game code name

Fun facts/other notes:

FeMC is the only one who breaks the streak of using anime names (due to not having an anime adaptations), it also causes P3 to cross between two different kinds of supplementary canon. (see more on this reblog)

Not all of P4's various stage names are known, namely (haha) the first stage play. If you dig you can find all of the 2nd ones (I should really post that list one day DX)

Despite P1MC not having a consistent chosen name, Atlus seems fond of Naoya, specifically using Naoya/Kazuya together (Devil Survivor 1 manga and P5 Mementos Quest mission) with characters. If you read the P1 manga you'd understand why they put those two names together.

Kitaro and Hamuko were used as place holder text for the P3MC and FeMC chars names for PQ2.

Banchou was used for P4MC's mocking title card in Arena/Ultimax, it was translated as "Kingpin" in english.

Some other chars I didn't listed as having "Leader" could very well be called "Leader" at some point.

Shin Kanzato is the MC to the anime Persona: Trinity Soul, a series that takes place 10 years after P3. It's in it's own separate canon from the P3 we know, Edit: but I'm mentioning him because of it being the original sequel of P3 for a brief period.

Aigis' name obvie can't be changed just like Maya, but she is the MC of both The Answer, as well as the Aigis: The First Mission cellphone game. (sometimes fans refer to her as a "toaster"...bc she's a robot)

Edit: Anna is the MC of P2's novel adaptations iirc, and Naoto and Yosuke are protagonists of their own books/novels/manga. There are most likely others but I will probs end it there (as I just wanna stick with games/original MCs and having Aigis/Kiba/Shin was a bit dicey)

Similar to Pego, P3MC may also be referred to as Pesan, and P4MC as Peyon. I haven't personally seen it (considering the other more prominent names they've had) but I wanted to list it just in case.

To update: Since I mentioned Roger, it's only fair I dig for all the other ones used for other characters (it's just Roger is the most popular, and it's not used often even at that).

Metis is still getting used to having a body of her own. To having a life at all, really.

From the moment she came into existence, she's always defined herself through Aigis. As her sister, and her "shadow"... Metis always lived for her - because she wanted to be loved, and didn't want to be alone. Her actions were driven by instinct and a powerful, desperate longing, and she'd been happy when she had finally reunited with her other half, because she knew that that's where she was supposed to be.

So... being here now... is strange. Aigis told her that it was the Kirijo group who made her body, at Aigis' own request. Apparently, she had felt a part of Metis calling out to her, asking for it... but Metis doesn't remember anything like that. It seems unlikely, honestly. But maybe that's because she hasn't found her reason to live, yet.

Minako Arisato, on the other hand, is a girl that Metis doesn't know too well. To her knowledge, she's the twin of Minato, the boy who sacrificed himself for the world - the one whom everyone loves so dearly. ...It must be hard for her, to be separated from someone so close to her.... Metis considers herself Aigis' sister, and so she thinks she can maybe understand.

She wonders what it is that Minako lives for. Does she ever feel lonely? ...Of course, in the end, thoughts like that won't bring her any answers unless she asks them.

"Minako... are you here to see Aigis? Sorry, she's not here right now. Unless it was me you wanted to see...?"
