I wanted to thank @zarvasace for putting together such a lovely discord server. For a long while of being here I've felt very lonely and the fandom felt very quiet, I was always terrified to post my content on certain accountabilities and how I can't exactly handle toxicity very well when it comes to backlash or hate on pieces of work. But when Mina made the discord server I decided to take my chances and I don't regret it. There are so many lovely people even people who are in the fandom that I've never discovered before and we all work together to make a lovely place to interact and chatter about four swords (and its ships.) I've even become more confident in posting my drawings and my fanfictions and haven't had as much anxiety or worry about it! Having almost daily sprints (while I don't often participate) has also motivated me to start writing more often as compared to how much I used to! It truly has done something Great I think for the lot of us! <3 A warm thank you from:

We're kicking the event off with a collab between myself (@vagueandominousvibes) and Mina (@zarvasace)! It's been a true joy seeing this piece come together, and observing the way Mina brought my lines to life. Thank you so much for the collab! :D

July LU Write-a-Thon: 351,092 Words in One Day!

On July 1, we hosted our second monthly LU Write-a-thon (organized by @not-freyja and @hotcheetohatredwastaken and joined by their new mods @noorahqar, @a-manicured-lawn, and @winterfen). The purpose of this event was to write as many productive words—words that furthered yourself, the LU writing community at large, or your own stories—within 24 hours as humanly possible. 

We had a whopping 90+ participants as opposed to our previous 16 - none of us expected such a large turnout, and were suitably unprepared 😅 We’ll definitely be making a lot of changes to accommodate that many people during the next Write-a-Thon, occurring August 1st. Thank you all for your patience!

But, until next month, here’s the awards and titles earned by each participant, as voted upon by the Discord server through an anonymous survey. The mods read through all your hundreds of submissions (thank you guys so much!) and picked either the highest voted title or the funniest custom submission for each person, as we found appropriate. First up is the winner’s circle, then the clubs, and then everybody else in alphabetical order right below this readmore!

The Winner’s Circle (5 Most Wordiest)

20,037 “Writer of All Time” and “Most Likely to Make 1K become 100K” (As can be seen in all its glory in your Aspects AU) @tashacee: You took advantage of Freyja and Cheeto’s beefing about who would be first and snapped up the win right from under their noses. Well played! 

20,011 “Writer of Some of the Time” and “Pen and Paper (Scritch... Scratchy?)” @hotcheetohatredwastaken: Missed the mark by juuust a bit, for the second time in a row. Cheeto, you suck. (:3 –Cheeto) (Qar wrote this, for reference!). Also wrote for most of the marathon on pen and paper!

Now while everyone’s accomplishments as individuals were nothing to sneeze at, teamwork does in fact make the dream work. A few lovely people made a couple of equally lovely groups, either by their own choice or as assigned by peer review.

IT HAS ARRIVED

To celebrate the anniversary of Tears of the Kingdom's release, and to revisit Hyrule, we have put together a FREE 127-page cookbook zine for fans to enjoy. Link to downloadable PDF at the bottom.

About the Zine

The goal of this zine has been to imagine and capture snapshots of Link and Zelda’s internal and external journey between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. One of the central mechanics in both games is cooking; you cook to stay alive, you cook to improve your abilities, and you cook to forge relationships with other characters through side quests. We wanted to centre this mechanism, so decided to frame the zine as Link and Zelda’s joint travel journal.

In these pages you will therefore find a collection of short stories, small illustrations, and numerous recipes. Our team has been hard at work, collaborating and developing ideas to flesh out Link and Zelda’s journey.

Each short story is written from either Link or Zelda’s perspective. They are part narrative, part journaled notes. You will find that they have been given each their font to represent their writings. Zelda’s is the more refined one, while Link’s is the more sprawling one. I’m sure you will see the difference.

You will also find small notes and letters from other characters – notably Tulin, Teba, Riju, and Kilton – as well as an excerpt from the Lucky Clover Gazette.

The recipes themselves have been fashioned as though they were written by Link and Zelda. This does mean their fonts have been used, but we hope any difficulty in reading it is forgiven on the basis that the overall conceit of the zine is preserved. Should there be a great demand, we may look into creating a second edition using friendlier fonts.

As for the illustrations, these have been created both with the goal of illustrating the dishes – and processes where necessary – and to imply that Link and Zelda also illustrate their journeys.

All our artists, short story writers, and recipe writers have come into this zine with different skills and abilities. There may therefore be subtle differences in styles, which we have chosen to retain to exhibit each contributor’s personal flair.

Finally, I want to thank those who have contributed their time and skills to the creation of this zine: Alex, Cenza, Deldon, Mina, Rose, Sam, Scarlet, Terek, and Mr Theodore. It’s been a pleasure working with you all on this project, and I look forward to the next time our paths cross.

Go to 'Create' in the top bar and select 'Print Book'.

Click 'Start my Print Book'.

Under 'Select a Goal', choose 'Print Your Book'. Follow the remaining instructions on the page and press 'Design Your Project'.

Under 'Interior File Upload', upload the interior files found in the downloadable Print Files Folder (see above). This should automatically fill in book size and page count.

Under 'Interior Color', choose 'Premium Color'. For a cheaper print, choose 'Standard Color'.

Under 'Paper Type', choose '80# White – Coated'. For a cheaper print, choose '60# White'.

Under 'Book Binding', choose 'Linen Wrap'. The cover has been designed specifically for this and is not compatible with any other binding option.

Select your choice of colour for linen and print. We recommend tan (linen) and gold (print). These are the colours that will be on the linen wrap, underneath the paper cover.

Under 'Cover Finish', select 'Glossy' or 'Matte' according to your preferences. This makes no difference price-wise. We recommend 'Matte'.

Under 'Book Cover Design', upload the cover file found in the downloadable Print Files Folder (see above).

You should now be able to see a preview under 'Book Preview'. Check that you are satisfied with the result and select 'Review Book'. This will take you to a page from which you can order your individual print copy. Due to the size of the file, Lulu may take a few minutes to process the files before you can place the order, but this should take no more than 10 minutes. Simply go have something to eat, then refresh the page when you return and you should be able to order your copy.

Happy holidays! This fic is my entry to the Four Swords 2023 Gift Exchange, for known Remlit Vio enjoyer @kaenith. The concept has been living rent-free in my head for months, and this is what I have to show for it. There are totally no dragons in this story, though. Must have just slipped my mind.

I've been following along with I went where the crow flies on AO3 and it's incredible!!! It's a Wild meets the chain fic, but Wild got out of the shrine 5 years too early. It's incredible and so fun to follow along with

Fanboy by cereme on AO3 is an incredible fic. It's Time-centric and also has a lot of good Time & Four stuff. I love it

My Heart's Forsaken Me by @sister-dear is one of my all time favorite Time fics. I love it a looooooot. Time picks up Four's sword and is split into different timeline versions

Heart of Gold by @zartophski is soooooooo good. It's a Time and Malon fluff fic, which is one my favorite things

Operation: Sunny Skies also by @zartophski is such a fun read! The chain helps Sky with a VERY big event :D

20: Recommend 5 of my own fics

AUTHENTICITY!! It's my favorite thing I've written. It's an autistic Wild AU and it's primarily hurt/comfort and fluff. It's quite fun :D

I just posted Delirium yesterday and I was blown away by the response. I was proud of it so I'm glad the internet liked it too! It's a Sky and Wild centric, Wild whump fic with some comfort at the end.

Sentiment is one of my favorite things I've written. Time and Warriors get into an argument but then get to hug bc neither of them know how to deal with feelings very well

Panel one: Shadow wakes up with a start in the real world. Four’s eyes are squeezed closed, and he says in small letters: “mmm…”

Panel two: The bottom of the bed, this time with only Twilight visible. Twilight is smiling and says, “You’re back! What happened? Is everything okay?” From off screen, various people say: “He’s up?” “Both of ‘em!” “Oh, good!” “Come in! They’re up!”

Panel three: Shadow and Four from the front. Shadow is up and smiling, Four still has his eyes closed and looks vaguely miserable. Shadow says, “Everything is great, actually. We beat up the guy. Inside his head…” Four interrupts with “owww” and Shadow continues. “Hm yeah, that tracks. Sorry, Link.” Four says, “‘s okay…”

Panel four: The bottom of the bed, this time with Warriors, Legend, and Twilight, all smiling. Warriors says, “You ARE Four, right? Just checking.” Twilight says, “Glad it worked.”

Page Two

Panel one: Four has crawled out of Shadow’s arms and sits next to him on the bed. He has one eye open and says, “Yeah, it’s me. The town is OK, right?” Shadow sits next to him, arms around his knees, smiling and tilting his head.

Panel two: Bottom of the bed. Legend says, “Not on fire anymore. But… where did the guy go? We don’t want him to cause trouble.”

Panel three: Shadow leans over the side of the bed, toward the light from the window, and points, with Four looking over his shoulder. There is a small mass of red Malice stuff falling off the bed. Shadow says, “Oh, look. There he is.”

Panel four: The small mass of red Malice stuff slithers away, with Yntak’s Yiga mask poking out of it, right toward a white beam of sunlight. Yntak says, “he he he… I got away…”

Page Three

Panel one: The small mass of Malice and Yntak’s mask have reached the sunlight. Yntak’s mask’s eye looks surprised, and he says “huh? No! I’m melting!!”

Panel two: Shadow and Four watch, still leaning over the side. A little red-outlined speech bubble says “noooooooooo~”

Panel three: Shadow and Four in the same pose. Four says, “welp.” Shadow says, “that’s exciting.”

Panel four: Shadow and Four turned toward each other, both with smiles so big their eyes are closed. There are stylistic white highlights around them, and Four says, “welcome back.”
