Miku Expo was A BLAST!!!💖

It was truly a magical night Thursday night. I got to see so many Vocaloid fans all dressed up and ready to rock, the venue was HUGE, and everyone was just so nice and wonderful. The girl next to me even let me borrow her extra light stick to wave during the show. She was so sweet!

The show itself was incredible! No holograms but it was still amazing! We had pretty good seats and my boyfriend got really good zoom on his phone so I could see a little easier (being a pocket-sized 5'2), and he was even jamming out with me. And towards the end when Miku sang "Tell Your World" they set off confetti cannons to fire above the crowd. I lost my mind and maybe cried just a little but they were tears of joy that a lifelong dream has finally come true. I'm so happy!💖💖

And now we make our departure from Toronto, headed for the big apple itself, New York City. Rave tonight, DBZ themed. I got no cosplay but it'll still be a blast! I'm just doing the cute magical bunnygirl thing tonight. If you see me there don't be shy, come say hi!

Miku is the youngest child in her family, only having an older sister. Unlike her sister, who didn't have any disabilities, Miku was born blind. While her parents half expected it, as Miku's great-grandmother was born blind as well, they still did not take it very well that she was born with a disability.

Yet she was a strong child, in her own way. She was soft spoken but sweet, and she still loved to play! Yet growing up, her parents didn't bother to take Miku to classes that would help her grow up and adjust to being born blind. It was her sister, Riku, who had signed up Miku to braille classes and helped her navigate with a walking stick as a child.

Miku's parents never treated her the same as her sister. They would treat her like she was fragile and uselsss, as though she were made of glass. There was even a point where they considered home schooling her, the truth being that they were ashamed and embarassed at having a blind child.

This poor treatment of her by her parents would make Miku a depressed and insecure teenager in high school. Her only friend was her sister, but being a few years older than her meant they couldn't spend time together very often in school.

After graduation, Miku went to Tokyo to study journalism. Her love of investigating the world around her had made her want to become a reporter that would write all kinds of articles. Despite her parents disapproving of such a job, college was actually a turning point for Miku. She was starting to come out of that depression, now that she was away from her parents, and moved in wit hher sister in an appartment.

Yet that happiness came crashing down when Riku's studies in human biology was recognized by a secret organization. Why? It meant Riku had to move away, which left Miku with not enough money to live in Tokyo anymore and back to her parents. With no friends but her sister, it also meant she was painfully lonely.

All she could do was try her hardest to do something to distract herself from her loneliness, a self-conscious mind never let her be brave enough to talk to others without feeling like she was just an annoyance or that she was too odd to be around. Even if she wasn't odd at all, she was a gentle young lady who loved talking with other people. This also meant that Miku went back into a depressive episode since she was around her harsh parents again.

A year passed when Riku called her. She had exciting news, she was inviting Miku on a trip with her to a town called Morioh! This was absolutely exciting for her, it meant she could see her sister again! Maybe visiting her would be like old times too, and a trip to a new town could help her finally learn to grow a backbone and distance herself from her harsh family to become the confident person she wished she could be. Riku had been told to stay in Morioh for a while by this mysterious organization. Her sister said she couldn't reveal much, just that it was an organization that started in England and she often had to travel all over the world. It sounded so suspicious, with Miku wondering if her sister joined the mafia, but she wasn't going to question much of it. That is, until a few days after staying in Morioh.

The trip went fine so far, until the two of them passed by a mysterious house while walking from the supermarket. As they quickly tried to walk by, with Riku explaining to Miku how creepy it looked, something suddenly pierced at Miku's back. Panic ensued between the two sisters, with Miku genuinely believing she was going to die. Riku swore she saw an arrow in her sister's back, but soon enough that arrow disappeared.

She was rushed to the hospital, with Riku explaining that her sister had been mysteriously pierced with something resembling an arrow, but the doctors and police couldn't find anything that could leave an arrow-like wound in Miku's back. It was serious, the doctors were almost confident she was going to die, until something sparked in her.

It was like something was telling her enough was enough of letting herself succumb to life's harsh hurdles and to stop letting her parents cruel thoughts about her get to her mind. She thought about everything in that hospital bed as she lay dying, and it was like a fire ignited in her. Her life flashed before her eyes and she couldn't take the restricted feeling she felt in her life anymore, she wanted to break free like a bird and fly away from them.

In a week, Miku's health greatly improved but something strange was felt by her. She could hear the sound of an owl next to her sometimes. When she asked her sister if there were owls around the hospital, she received a confused response followed by being told that Morioh didn't have owls during the day, especially on the fifth floor of the hospital.

When she was alone in her room, the young woman focused on the sounds of the owl, thinking back to her fighting spirit that awakened in her. When she felt herself deep in thought, suddenly...something strange happened. She didn't understand what was going on, was this...sight? Was the world this blindingly bright? Yet when she looked down, she could see the body of a purple owl that matched her lilac eyes. Not that she knew what it was since she never saw colors before, so already the sight of anything other than...nothing was a sock in and of itself. That's when she turned her head to see herself on the hospital bed with her eyes closed!

Immdiately she sprang up as though she woke up from a dream, trying to figure out what was going on here! As she tried to ask her sister if she was going insane by her experiences with this mysterious owl, strange men she hadn't heard of would come into the room one day to introduce themselves.

They told Miku that they worked with the Speedwagon foundation, and explained to her stands. Their investigation revealed that Miku was pierced with a stand arrow by Keicho Nijimura.

This pierce by the stand arrow resulted in her developing a stand. They gave her two options, live a normal life and just adapt to this stand or join them and become a field agent to stop evil stand users from causing chaos. The reason they introduced themselves was because her sister was a scientist for them studying in Morioh behind the scenes to provide information for Jotaro Kujo. The foundation knew they couldn't just let Miku live her life confused, so they thought it was best to explain stands to her and give her the option to be like her sister and join the foundation if they wanted to.

With a newly awakened confidence in her, Riku admitted she joined in hopes of finding a way for Miku to experience life a little easier, she agreed to become a field agent. She's currently under training, honing her stands abilities and learning techniques to detect other stand users when she can't see the stand itself. She finally feels hopeful and confident in the future! No longer did she feel like a strange person, but someone capable of anything!

Miku's stand is Owl City and it takes the form of a purple owl and galaxy-like eyes. When she closes her eyes and focuses, Miku can put her concious into Owl City which allows her to fly up and finally see the world. The downside is that Miku is completely unconcious while using her stand which means she needs to find a place where she'll be safe or receive backup.

Since having a stand that allows her to see, she finds herself a huge fan of pastel street fashion! She'll be often seen in Sweet Lolita, Rainbow Decora or Fairy Kei. Riku knows of stands but she isn't a user so she can't see her sister's stand or anyone else's.

Miku has decided to cut off contact from her family aside from Riku, learning to finally the person she hoped to be! She still loves journalism, but now she plans to use those skills in becoming an agent for the Speedwagon foundation. Being born blind never is a hindrance, as Miku now knows she can do anything she sets her mind to with confidence and optimism.

-Became a Christian through Keisou and Avanna's influences.

-Her Japanese can have hints of a Hokkaido accent from the influence of her home prefecture- e.g. she has a tendency to say "namara" instead of "totemo" as an intensifier. She also has a tendency to end her sentences in "da yo" and "ne". She more or less always uses "watashi" as a personal pronoun (unless formality dictates otherwise).

-She has extreme tolerance of spicy food. Hot Ones? She'd get through the whole thing without breaking a sweat. Some find it scary.

-Nimble and athletic; can be a bit of a showoff, often unintentionally.

-Has visited the city near her home, but feels more at home in a country environment. I'd imagine she's from somewhere near south County Dublin; could be from the county itself or maybe a county near it, like Wicklow or Meath? For now I might just say "eastern Ireland" and leave it at that

-Can change the shape of her ears at will. Elf ears have sensitive hearing, human ears are less hypersensitive and good for noisy areas. They can also be helpful for making others more comfortable with her presence if elves would be weird to them.

-Speaks rather politely, in what could be seen by some as somewhat of an old-fashioned manner. Being Irish, she uses "eh" and "em" as fillers/thinking noises (rather than American "uh" or British "er"). She has a habit of peppering her sentences with "now" and occasionally ends them with "like."

-"Grand" is practically her favorite word. It's terribly useful, now. Like a plan? "Sounds grand!" Someone asks how you're doing? "Oh, I'm grand!" Someone needs comforting? "There, there. You're grand, now." Someone asks if they're intruding? "Ah, no, you're grand." Describing a large, generously decorated hall? "This place is rather grand, isn't it?"

-She's also a big fan of other nice positive words, such as "lovely" and "brilliant."

-Could be considered somewhat of a foil to Sonika (whom I no longer have, but she's still a character that exists), with her more spontaneous and cheeky ways, slang-heavy and informal speech, and impulsive tendencies, while Avanna is more polite, mild-mannered and cautious.

-She's very soft-spoken and doesn't yell a lot, though part of this is her mellow nature, part of it is because she has a soft voice and is not very good at yelling.

-Swears by flat 7-Up as a remedy for a great many things.

-Devout Christian. St. Patrick is unironically a hero of hers.

-Loves traditional Irish ballads and sean-nós

-Perhaps a bit surprisingly for being the sole Irish Vocaloid, she's not really a heavy drinker (and she won't drink in places where she isn't legal, of course). However, she knows the signs of drunkenness and is often very helpful if someone happens to get drunk or is dealing with a hangover.

-Has a MUCH lower tolerance of spicy flavors than Miku does. If they ate the same pepper, Miku wouldn't bat an eye and Avanna would be crying. (She likes chai tea but that's a different kind of spicy.)

-Loves nature; enjoys camping, creature-watching and stargazing.

-Not extremely technologically literate; can basically use a computer, but can often be helpless when things go wrong with it and Miku has often had to explain things to her especially if the technology is new. Despite this, she does find technology interesting and fascinating.
