I have three siblings who are all ten to thirteen years older than me, and they all went to boarding school. Because of the age gap, my siblings and I didn't really grow up together, and I spent a lot of time by myself. I also didn’t have a great relationship with my mom, so when I was younger–even though I’d developed a strong sense of social independence, I always said that being around people was the best thing in the world.

I moved out of my family home soon after I turned eighteen or nineteen and since then, I’ve lived with a bunch of people, and I was constantly surrounded by friends and friends of friends, and total strangers. Everyone was in such close proximity–I went from feeling like an outsider to feeling like a social person, and then back again–and I was ok with that. I think I might’ve even equated it to being happy that I’d get anxious after spending even a little time by myself. I felt so restless and miserable, mostly because of the feeling of loneliness that consumed me.

For years it didn't occur to me that, as with most things, my discomfort with being alone might be a sign that I am not meeting my emotional needs.

Fast forward to a little over a year ago, I moved to the outskirts of town and because of that, I don’t really go out as often anymore unless it’s for work. And then, of course, the pandemic happened–I had to quit my job and after getting the curse, I started spending more and more time by myself and that has led to some great things… and some really terrible things, like, it hasn’t particularly been great for my mental health (or rather, lack thereof lol).

But that moment in self-isolation had me thinking about how much I rely on other people to make myself feel ok, and also how incredibly liberating it is to lose the unrealistic expectations put on me to be ‘happy’ and ‘productive’ all the time. I’m an adult and it really sucks that I am so late to the self-realization party haha, but wow, it feels good to finally allow myself to feel what I feel when I feel it.

So these days whenever I feel irrationally upset about anything (or nothing at all!), instead of simply shelving it and focusing on everyone and everything else that is going on, I take a step back, breathe and think about the ways I can create and hold space for myself. Sometimes that means staying in bed longer, reading, trying out a new recipe, listening to a podcast, working on a project, putting my phone on ghost mode, or taking myself out for walks… just doing whatever it is that makes me feel comfortable and content. Other times it’s sitting with myself staring into blank space, or crying (for like, an hour… or more?!?!?!!!!) and feeling so much better afterward.

Anyways, it’s 7:30AM and I just woke up to pee. I’ve got about an hour to journal and relax in bed before I need to get up, make myself breakfast, hit the shower, then head out to see my psychiatrist and counselor. It’s going to be a good day to hang out with myself today.

BACKGROUND STORY

Alex was born into a single-parent family. His father divorced his mother before he was born. His older sister helped her mother as much as she could and studied at the same time. When Alex was born, his mother was glad to see him, because an heir and a long-awaited son were born. Everything was fine until the age of 12, until the tragedy happened. His mother died at work during a fire. After that, he was sent to an orphanage, from where his sister decided not to take him away because of her personal injuries after his father. After 18, he was kicked out of the orphanage and given an apartment in a more or less normal condition, where he lived while studying and worked in a cafe for a low salary.

When he was 19, a man came to him who offered him a job at the agency where his mother died. When he found out what money they promised him, he immediately agreed. He was an excellent soldier, and in particular a sniper. It may sound silly, but he was the best sniper. That was the end of his skills, he was bad at close combat and therefore decided that he would work from afar.

Of course, there were those who envied him. They envied his luck, because it cost him almost nothing to get to this place, while others were not so "chosen" and they had to gnaw out a place for themselves here. Unknown people decided to get rid of him, and therefore seriously framed him during one of the missions.

During the mission, as usual, Alex took a comfortable position to get a better view from above and cover his own. His task was one, to remove people who would interfere. Shot after shot, everything went like clockwork. But after another shot, the rifle exploded in his hands, thereby hitting the floor of his face and his left eye.

These few hours were like a blur: screams, gunshots, pain, hospital and white light. This event was deposited deep in his head, it's hard to forget. Those months of recovery were difficult both mentally and physically. As a result, he almost completely lost sight in his left eye and his face was disfigured by a large burn. Due to the injury, he constantly wears the darkest sunglasses possible so as not to attract attention to himself once again. After such an event, he immediately resigned, because he did not want to put his life on the brink again.

After his dismissal, he worked from time to time as a mercenary, if someone needed his support, because there were people who heard and knew where he left from. He has no friends or acquaintances, which is why he is very withdrawn into himself. Some time later, an unknown person, as she later introduced herself, Kate Laswell, wrote to him. She offered him a job, helping a certain group in one case by promising a good sum, to which Alex of course agreed.

At the end of their collaboration, Price liked Alex, there would be no extra hands in the team, and invited him to work with them. Alex, of course, thought about his proposal, but still agreed.

Backstory:

Not much is known about Mikhail, other than that he just appeared in thin air one day In the criminal underworld. Once fought in the second World War, with no other choice than to be sent to prison. He did his time in the Russian Army, and leaving Immediately in 1945', at the age of 33 years old.

The war was a blur to him, not that it mattered to him. But he did it just because he didn't want to be seen as a coward, and go to prison because of it.

Growing up poor and in the streets of Russia, In a undisclosed large City; He always fell into the wrong crowd like many others, from underground brawl fights, typical games that almost cost his life he always got back up and fought back.

A few times he had gotten in and out of prison, he got various tattoos while serving his time. Covering up his whole body with them. (Though he never did much time, because he always escaped one way or another. He always had a way)

Building his reputation in the underground world he fell first into a Mafia group, at the right place at the right time hed say. Willingly proving himself. Over time he climbed up the ladder and became second in command, and then soon the leader after the original one passed away.

Mikhail became a well respected man over the course of 4 years in 1945, you could always go to him with a problem; As long as you're willing to give him some form of payment back.

He had a large ring of prostitutes, alcohol, fire arms in his grip. The only way he made people stay and serve him is through manipulation, and black mail of course.

It was always dangerous to come to him with a personal problem, because he'd always use it against you to make you stay with him.

In 1949 with his Mafia group in full swing, he was the boss to Anja Petrochenka (She became a personal doll to him) Up until 1960 until she decided to go and work with Perseus.

Enraged that Anja had left him Mikhail constantly retailed and always raided Volkov's warehouse as he was a close ally to the Perseus ring.

Later in 1960 he successfully kidnapped her but she soon got rescued by Volkov's men in the process. After that he fled into the dark before anyone else could get him.

And as for 1981, his whereabouts are currently unknown. Which meant Perseus had no way of getting him.

This morning it came to our attention that our Scout, Jeremy Fulfer-Anderson, has gone missing. This was not cause for alarm, however, because Mr. Fulfer-Anderson was often late for breakfast due to oversleeping or staying out too long on his morning runs. Unfortunately, this common occurrence became an issue when Filfer-Anderson did not appear at any point during the day. After asking the other mercenaries when they had last seen Jeremy, I concluded that he disappeared sometime between three and seven a.m.

Builder’s League United, more commonly known as BLU, was suspected in his disappearance.

We searched the entire base and surrounding area, hoping to find him hiding somewhere. We had no such luck. Upon our return to base, our Sniper (Mick Mundy) discovered a note on the front porch. The note is attached below.

As this is the handwriting of the BLU Spy, this note confirms the involvement of Builder’s League United in Jeremy’s disappearance.

Date: 01.02.1969

This morning, our Sniper reported screaming coming from the BLU base last night. He says that they were the distinct screams of Jeremy. This confirms that BLU wants to make sure we know that Jeremy’s life is on the line if we do not meet their demands.

Our team’s Spy, who has requested that his real name be removed, has become increasingly more distraught over the last two days. This evening, I discovered why. In Spy’s encounter with the BLU team (see file “Espionage”), he says that he was psychologically tortured. This concerns me for multiple reasons. For one, Spy never sought medical attention for his mental health (I will have to address this later), and for two, this means that Jeremy is in a great deal of danger. 

Arrangements have been made to meet to BLU team on their terms on January the fourth, at three o’clock.

The screaming from the BLU base is constant now. I am afraid of the condition we will find Jeremy in when we get him back.

Spy’s mental health continues to deteriorate.

Our team’s Heavy (Mikhail Volkov) seems to be plagued by anxiety as well. 

I must admit that I, myself, am becoming increasingly concerned for the health of our Scout.

Date: 03.02.1969

Tomorrow is the day that we are due to meet BLU and make the trade. Our intelligence case for the safe return of Jeremy. I suspect a trick, so I will thoroughly study every bit of information I have ever gathered on Jeremy. I will not be sent a fake. 

The screams persist.

Date: 04.02.1969

In just a few hours, our plan will be set in place. Myself, Mikhail, and our Engineer (Dell Conagher) will meet three representatives from the BLU team at the bridge that separates our bases. While we take care of the negotiations, our Spy will break into the BLU base to retrieve our Scout in the case that we are presented with a fake. If the BLU representatives present us with the real Jeremy, Spy will instead be instructed to steal any sensitive information he can find. 

Spy’s condition continues to decline. I worry for him.

Due to the possibility of Jeremy’s condition being unfavorable upon his return, I will end this report here and continue my findings in the next document

1. Marianna [The female reader] grew up in a rather wealthy family, the second eldest of four children. Often left in the care of nannies or staff due to her parents busy, social and political lifestyle.

2. She grew up in a rather opulent mansion, surrounded by art, history, and a collection of rare and macabre artifacts. The mansion, passed down through generations, housed a vast library that became Marianna's sanctuary and escape from the stifling social expectations of her family.

3. As a child, Marianna displayed an early fascination with the macabre and the mysterious. She was drawn to stories of mythical creatures, ancient folklore, and tales of darkness and death. This fascination led her to immerse herself in literature, studying the works of authors like H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, and Bram Stoker, which further fueled her interest in the unknown and the supernatural.

4. Marianna has a son, Luka Volkov, born when she was in her early twenties when she was dating Mikhail Ivanov, a renowned Russian artist. Despite their passionate relationship, they ultimately grew apart due to their conflicting personalities and ambitions. Marianna was dedicated to her studies and art, while Mikhail was often preoccupied with his own career. After their separation, Marianna took full custody of Luka, and though she adores her son, she is also fiercely protective of her independence and personal space.

Marianna's relationship with Arthur was passionate but short-lived, and they eventually went their separate ways. However, Marianna maintains a cordial relationship with Arthur and is actively involved in Masha's life, despite the distance between them.

7. She bought her home in Baltimore, Maryland and relocated there with her children, Luka and Masha, after accepting a position as a professor at a prestigious university. Baltimore's rich history and dark allure appealed to Marianna, making it the perfect place for her to delve into her academic pursuits while still indulging in her fascination with the mysterious and macabre.

8. Luka was initially resistant to the move, he quickly adapted to his new surroundings. He is 17 and Masha is 10 years old when the move occurred. Despite the busy schedule, she made sure to enroll Luka in a reputable school and support his interests and aspirations. Masha was still in primary school so she took on the responsibility of homeschooling her for a brief period until she found the right school for her.

9. Whenever Luka wants to have his nails painted, Marianna gladly does it for him and often stating, "Which colour did you want to go with this time?" Which is usually met with excitement from Luka, as he enjoys the bonding time with his mother. Marianna takes pride in breaking traditional gender norms and encourages her children to express themselves authentically.

10. If Luka wanted to wear a dress, she would often make sure they were custom made to fit his tastes, and would support his decision without hesitation. Marianna firmly believes that individuals should be free to express themselves and embrace their true selves, regardless of societal expectations or gender norms. No expense was ever left to ensure her children felt loved, accepted, and supported in their individuality.

death was a part of mikhail’s life from a young age, he never knew his mother, but his father was the leader of a group of assassins. and when he looked at his son, he saw only opportunity.

leo volkov viewed his only child as a weapon, training him from a young age to be a skilled killer. failure was met with cruel punishment and from a young age, mikhail became very familiar with the concept of pain.

as the child grew into a young man, his skill grew. as did his own hatred towards his father for what he was turning him into. but then, something changed. there was a kindness from his father that wasn’t there before, and for a time, mikhail thought that perhaps there was a chance for a new start.

introducing his son to a young woman named marina, mikhail found himself falling head over heels for her. they spent a lot of time together, and after a couple of years, mikhail even planned to propose. but he had no idea that this was all part of his father’s cruelest plan.

marina was a mark–set to die at the hands of one of the group’s assassins, and leo knew this would be the perfect opportunity to test his son’s resolve. so, he gave mikhail an ultimatum. carry out the contract, or the assassins would kill them both. the kindest mercy that mikahil was able to give marina was a quick death.

he did not offer the same mercy to his father.

with leo out of the picture, mikhail took his father’s place in the group. while there are rumors that mikhail might have been responsible for leo’s death, there’s no proof. 

something about marina’s death broke something in him, the world a crueler place after what he had done. any remorse he previously found in killing was absent.

several years ago, a contract crossed his desk that caught the attention of every assassin in his group-someone wanted king lucien dead. and who better to send than their leader?

but not every job goes off smoothly. and luck finally caught up with mikhail when his attempt on the king's life failed. while he was not caught-he knew one undeniable truth-even as their leader, he could not go back to his group having failed.

so instead, mikhail sought employment with his mark-proving his worth and becoming the master assassin of transvania. it paid better, but the more useful perk was that he was untouchable to those he had led previously.

while he harbors no ill-will towards the king-after all, that job was just business-he is not the greatest fan of the man. but as long as gold ends up in his pockets? mikhail remains loyal.

mikhail "mikky", the kid, 10 - 15, uninfected.

ok  so  i've  developed  a  bit  more,  so  as  i've  established:  mikhail  is  given  up  by  his  parents  to  a  military  school  in  the  qz,  this  is  because  at  the  time  his  parents  are  very  poor  and  barely  making  it  with  one  child  as  it  is.  they  do  not  love  mikhail  any  less  than  their  eldest  child,  in  fact  they're  doing  this  for  his  own  benefit.  when  mikhail  is  four,  unbeknownst  to  him,  his  mother  dies.  his  father  and  brother  fall  into  the  various  illegal  sects  running  under  fedra  noses.  they  end  up  fairly  high  up  in  the  grand  scheme  of  things,  and  further  their  distance  from  mikhail  to  protect  him.  however,  his  older  brother  yuri  visits  mikhail  under  the  guise  of  concerned  citizen.  he  brings  him  food  and  other  supplies  occasionally,  to  make  sure  he's  never  in  any  need.  mikky  does  not  know  yuri  is  his  brother ( though he has suspicions as he gets older ),  nor  that  his  father  is  actually  their  father.  mikhail  has  a  group  of  friends  of  all  varying  ages  that  live  in  the  military  school.

LAST OF US (PT. 1)   ;   mikky   is   at   current   in   part   one   of   the   last   of   us,   the   unknowing   son   of   russian   drug   and   arms   dealer   anisim   volkov   and   younger   brother   of   yuri   volkov.   he   is   being   raised   in   a   QZ   military   school,   location   is   flexible   for   plotting   purposes.

Personality: Much more reserved, calmer, more understanding than his father. Yuri knows from right and wrong. But if necessary he wouldn't hesitate to show what he's capable of, should you dare to cross him.

Backstory:

As far as Yuri could remember and recall, he rememberd very little of his mother before she left Russia for good. He grew up with only his father by his side. He had a isolated childhood, spending most of his life in hiding due to his father's crimes. And also because of Mikhail's underground business fell apart in the process.

With no other family members, the only kind of family he had was his father and close friends of his.

At first for Yuri it was lonely but he quickly grew used to the feeling, sometimes he asked about his mother, where she went, vice versa. But when his father gave no answer he eventually stopped asking.

Yuri was homeschooled throughout his childhood, a good student, finishing his studies early he went out to find work at the ahe of 16. Working here and there just to make up some money, from the moment he turned 18... What was left of Mikhail's business was inherited to him, and for the better. Yuri changed it for the better.

Yuri actually valued his life, with the money that was given to him. He cleared all dirt on the family name, and pledged to do good rather than bad. He didn't want history to repeat itself, like what it came to his father.

Asides from working, Yuri is laid back, wanting to catch up on things he missed out on. He also loves Cats, he has a Russian blue cat named Maxim.

Around 1970 he easily tracked down his mother Anja, the two reunited. At first he was hesitant and a but reserved. But over time his guard came down.

By 1981 his business was still progressing perfectly, giving weapons to the right people than for bad intentions. After the death of Volkov, Yuri housed his mother, and his step siblings.

One of Yuri's talents is that he can memorise his favourite book from heart, his favourite book is The Brothers Karamazov.

Despite the tensions of the Cold War, Yuri does love some Western cars outside of Russia.
