The Scottish winter scuppered plans for a second domestic series of Men in Kilts.
Sam Heughan revealed he had hoped to make a follow-up to the 2021 Starz TV show and Clanlands book which was set in Scotland.
But the 43-year-old Outlander star has revealed the follow-up, which was filmed in New Zealand, was moved down under due to a combination of short days and the schedule of his and co-star Graham McTavish, 63.
He said: “We initially looked at options in Scotland, doing another season of the show exploring the north of Scotland, Shetland, its ties to Scandinavia, Ireland etc.
“I am very much interested in the Viking influence (growing up in Galloway near Whithorn and the Viking settlement there).
“My initial idea was to do ‘Men in Kilts - in boats!’, have us in Viking longship, speed boats, kayaks, swimming/scuba, however challenges with our schedules meant our window for filming would fall in the winter months, not ideal for daylight in the UK.”
Mr McTavish added: “We’d really enjoyed the first experience and hopefully will do another. We did New Zealand because I live there and New Zealand has a very strong connection with Scotland.
“One in five have Scottish ancestry, and it’s a mirror of Scotland in many ways - the people, the landscape, you can see why the Scots settled so easily.”
And the pair are set to reunite for a third chapter.
Mr McTavish added: “Our sights are set on North America particularly the eastern seaboard, from Nova Scotia down through Maine, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, places with a strong connection to Scotland.
"There are bears and moose. I’m sure Sam is drawing up a list.”
It is unclear when SH and GMcT were selected and interviewed by the Scottish Sun to reveal their plans 🤔 Whether there are any projects underway at commitment level for a third chapter.
In fact, excavations showed a Norse trading settlement around the Galloway coast. SH was born in New Galloway, which is 34.7 miles (about 55 km) from the Viking settlement of Whithorn; I don't think he went very far to play every day when he was a kid. I don't remember him being interested in Viking Ages, maybe he likes watching Vikings: Valhalla drama series 🤷♀️
Filming has never been easy, but filming in the middle of a Scottish winter, in the Shetland islands, during the dark British winters, means that the goal was not clearly defined, unless his idea was to go to Lerwick to the Up Helly Aa parade with torches marching a Viking longship through Lerwick, during the "Shetland Fire Festival", and the idea didn't work. Lerwick Up Helly Aa is a superb spectacle, a celebration of Shetland's history, from the Norse sagas.
But there is something interesting that SH always forgets to mention: in winter 2021 he had a motorcycle accident 🏍️ which would also have prevented him from filming. So the hours of darkness and his demanding schedule led him to an unforeseen change of location for MiK2: he tries to tell a different story and that doesn't convince. He went to New Zealand to have fun and to recover physically from the motorbike accident. MiK2 was filmed when the country was on “Red alert level” 🚩 of the Omicron virus new variant and was closed to foreigners.
There is no doubt they really enjoyed the New Zealand experience because GMcT lives there, and GMcT confirmed that Sam's trip to New Zealand was a "well-deserved" holiday. However the strong connection to Scotland was not present and indeed the mirror of Scotland in New Zealand was not shown in MiK2. A trip dedicated to enjoying adventure adrenaline activities, it was a fantastic holiday.
If he misses Scotland and is looking forward to seeing it on screen with Men in Kilts: why a Roadtrip in North America, why not take up the original idea of doing it in Shetland? Or it will continue with an American romance novel construction about Scotland.
So what is the goal of MiK3, or are these two trying to turn MiK3 into something more than a business? 🤷♀️ while SH makes a list?
@dlansing53 His mishap was in Scotland, after a training. On that occasion, he didn't mention anything and tried to cover it up. The accident was mentioned months later in an interview in the U.S. he confirmed that he fractured his knee and tore his MCL, as you can seen in the New Zealand’s photos he received stitches and has a large scar on his left leg after the mishap.
Here at Pharos Athletic Club with Pieter Vodden (He’s not in the picture) trainer in the U.S. he’s not his physio. This photo is from before his trip to New Zealand 🇳🇿
@ajrajraj In Britain Motorcycle is a Motorbike or "Bike" 🏍️ and motorcyclists are called "bikers". When SH says "bike" he fell off a motorbike, not a bicycle. The mishap occurred when he was supposedly on his way home from the gym. SH doesn't go to the gym on a bicycle, he goes on a motorbike 🏍️
After his trip to New Zealand 🇳🇿 He mentioned his accident on the GMA show it was posted by @imahalfemptykindofgirl I reblogged her post
and days later he confirmed it in a talk in Men's Journal. if you are interested you can see both published on my blog.
@ajrajraj On 14 December 2021, on Twitter (X) SH posted that he had been in an accident "on a bike". In a conversation with Charles Thorp of Men's Journal, in the article SH says: he was on a bike, not on a bicycle. If you have the interview where he clarifies that he was on a bicycle, I would like to know more about it, because his injuries did not correspond to this situation.
He limps to the gym to pose for a photo to his fans. He plays stupid games and wins stupid prizes.

On the first episode of MIK2 (which is really entertaining), both Sam and Graham mention at least twice it’s Sam’s first helicopter ride. Did he forget the helicopter ride with his guy friends with MM leaning in for a picture? Odd.
You mean to suggest that Sam told a lie? What? Sam lies? Lol. Yes the infamous helicopter ride with MM and the Aussie Daniel Macpherson. Was that a figment of Sam's imagination? Did the helicopter ride really happen? Or has Sam deleted it from his memory? So many lies to keep tabs on I guess.

Pissed off, Petty, Petulant @Pity Party
The #sagaftrastrike came into affection. It pains me to do this, having worked on several projects over a long period of time that I am so proud of. This is my passion, profession and purpose, but as a show of solidarity, I was asked not to work as an "Actor" anymore. So this will be my last promotion until things are sorted out. Please enjoy all the new @outlander_starz eps in the meantime and hope things get resolved quickly
Sam Heughan
Just like the Hawaii tempest, Sam had what we here in 🇦🇺 call a dummy spit ( for the non 🇦🇺 dummy is a pacifier). Tantrum thrown and then he was advised to delete, or he came to his senses pretty damn quickly. Before he was damned.
How quickly the recent past was forgotten. Working journey man actor. Living paycheck to paycheck. That Taurus bull stamping and bellowing. What did he mean ‘I was asked to not work as an ‘Actor’ anymore 💫
Solidarity, begrudgingly.
Where there perhaps other reasons that brought about the pity party?
Could it have been after Sam was informed his best mate Graham was going to be spruiking Kentucky bourbon. Pissed off.
MIK2 and the leads are exclusively associated with Sassenach Spirits, and this has been the established standard since Sassenach was launched. Because it’s all about GGC booze. Not American bourbon. Very pissed off!
😬
We all know Graham will grasp every single opportunity thrown to him. Who remembers the $12K con that he promoted a few years ago. He did truly believe that he had the pulling ⭐️ power of Sam. So he naturally believes he can sell booze and expect Sam to be magnanimous 🤣
If memory serves me correctly the kilt travel show was originally Graham’s idea 🤔
🫣
Last I checked there are 2 posts on the grid, photos and MIK2esque videos let’s see how this develops!

What date did he leave for NZ? He was also in a 2 week? Holding hotel before he could get into NZ . Not sure how long G and crew had to wait before s got there? Maybe that’s why MIK2 was 4 short episodes? Also c said s saw the baby two weeks before going to NZ . Nothing is dated when we see it so it almost impossible to find out time lines or very difficult.
Sorry I’m in the same boat you are. I’ve tried piecing that same puzzle together myself and coming up empty handed and confused 🤷♀️

My take on all of this is that it seems like nothing is being done to grow the brand. These events are useless because they are only reaching Sam fans. Sam/Outlander fans are the only ones showing up. They are already buying and just come for an autograph and a photo op with Sam. That is not growth or success. It’s maybe a small profit. Whiskey or gin drinkers aren’t going to go for the over-priced generically palate pleasing blends for that price point. He is not doing meet and greets in liquor stores to reach those people.
And yes, leaving out a good chunk of the world isn’t helping. Nor is it a sign that it is as successful as Sam fans let themselves believe. Getting it into other countries should be a priority but other than some “we are working on it” promises, it isn’t happening. The why is pretty obvious to me. It won’t sell enough to make a profit so it’s not actually a priority. Same with some US states. The states where it would cost more to sell it due to stricter regulations aren’t a priority, either.
I have an associates degree (2 year program) in business management and run my own small business and this just reeks of amateur hour. This is simply not how one develops a sustainable business. As for Sam’s involvement on this tour, I’m guessing, but I doubt he would be doing it at all if not for the strike. He would have been busy promoting MIK2 during this time and it seems like a filler for him. Not sure that’s the best use of his time for ANY of his work.
I do think he works hard for his brand, the issue here (I believe) may be AN. They don’t have the right support. They can’t always expect SH celebrity status to be the main support of the brand, he is not that know (sorry but true), still love him ❤️ There has to be a team that is dedicated solely to the brand and promote it. The “company” has the same people working on MPC, SS, accessories and film production, hence MIK but their website is not even running it’s a front, it’s a huge loss right there. For example, Maximum Effort is a Ryan Reynolds’s film production company, they concentrate on that he appears on some vids but runs by its self, aviation gin Ryan Reynolds’s too different team, you get my point.
They are stretched too thin and cannot manage everything themselves with the few people they have and it shows. Someone has to be out doing the deals, making the announcements ahead of time, publishing content constantly, and customer management. They don’t, it’s shows on the quality of content, quality of the places and primarily on the quality of consistency.
From your posts I am not surprised the majority of the sales is in the U.S. that’s where the largest fan base is and it did help launch, now they have concentrate how to pivot into a better quality market i.e. Fort Lauderdale is a “cheap” get wasted kind of place and you won’t find a good market for Gin nor quality whisky and forget about Tequila, it’s overcrowded. They need to focus better on where to take it and how to sell it. It’s winning competitions then take it where it will be valued.
Also, what’s happening to the EU market? Last known news was that they lost the trade name to an old German whisky name similar to the Sassenach.
In all better PR, better team, better leadership.
That’s my two cents.
——————————
Above submitted.
An is not alone the issue, it’s as much as himself as well. He just wants to keep control too much. Trusting AN for the daily business. I agree, having the same team for all his endeavors, and mostly people related to AN, is an issue. And for as far as I’ve seen for quite a long time is there’s not really a dedicated marketing team nor strategy plan for it. Beginning with the websites, the SS website is just a front as well, and so are all the websites for the books. It’s just how can we as fast as possible direct you to the purchase button. they forget that people (especially if we focus on people outside the OL fandom) need to be convinced, why is it that makes this product special, why would I want to buy it. Not because it is Sam Heughan who created it. It needs something else! And they do have a story to tell, but they just skip that whole part. Rely on the ‘related products’ on the ReserveBar site.
About the numbers, you must take into account that these numbers are the numbers of the ReserveBar sales pages. If you’re located in Europe, you will be redirected to Masters of Malt, and Canada you get directed to Willowpark and only see the tequila! So not that surprising the majority sales for RB are in the US. Though the largest part of his fanbase is in the US. That said, EU/Canada and other countries are not really on the priority list and how can you expect numbers to grow if it’s not? Growth strategy should be focussing on where there is room to grow, and it most certainly includes EU.
Germany is a lost case. I know there is this German fan constantly posting and asking people to sign a petition. They lost the case in Germany, and rightfully so, there is a company many years old, to which the SS name shows too much similarity(Theo Sasse) It’s not a German whisky though, but related to beverages and food if I recall right. Why would someone give up their rights they owned for many years, and have their brand compromised because some actor that didn’t do the best research when choosing the name? Do people understand how that is a family business that is on the market for a very long time and worked hard to have their brand established? Why do they think SH would have more rights for the name? Just because he is SH? Good thing the court doesn’t think so!

What to Do When SH Doesn’t Remember Details?
Men in Kilt season 2 was filmed in New Zealand 🇳🇿 between January and February 2022, and in Sam's memories of “Waypoints”, months later same year, he supposedly “wrote” the book (or was its ghostwriter 🤔 ) Sam mentioned his father, saying, “I have few memories of my dad, he left when I was 18 months old. I didn’t connect with him again until I was an adult.” Well, it’s not typical for people to have clear and detailed memories as early as 18 months.
But now, in Men in Kilt 2 this season, Sam is seen exploring New Zealand culture and in episode two, he learns about Māori tattoos and even has one drawn by the artist who created the design, which is supposed to represent his life in Sam's arm, he spoke on his father repeatedly with a different version Sam says: “My dad left when I was very young. Three years old. So, I didn't know him at all”
In "Waypoints," he described his father's absence and then how he got to know him much later. A turn of events after Heughan and her brother met his father in 2013, her father was ill with leukaemia and passed away from the disease. Sam and his brother were not present at his father's funeral. Sam was in his mid-thirties and didn't meet his father when he was in his mid-twenties, as he says.
This shows that challenging him to walk the West Highland Way for his book 📕 “Waypoints” didn't help him accept himself. This is important to mention, he not only can't clearly remember what he said before, but his few memories of him are like traces in the recycle bin that are restored when he wants to tell us another story, a way of not dealing with anxiety or pressure to perform. We'll wait for the sequel to his Clanlands New Zealand book and find the wee lads photo when he admitted that he “didn't know" his father's name growing up.
But, the proof that he knew his father’s name is on his birth certificate. If the natural parents are married or in a civil union, both must have their names registered. And Sam carries his father’s name. He may be confused and want to say that his father's name was not mentioned when he was growing up, which was not necessary, due to the circumstances, but it is different to say that he did not know his father’s name growing up because that detail would be incorrect.
Perhaps he had a trauma growing up without a father? But millions of children live without a father at home. He would not be the first nor the last. If he had a traumatic childhood, he needs professional help (not from his fans or his friends in the entertainment media) and does not change a private and personal part of his memory every time, wanting pity.
Some people who suffer from (C) PTSD or dissociative disorders (all from trauma) want your sympathy or pampering, special treatment, fear of being 'ignored', or “isolated”. But SH must stop turning a delicate and intimate situation in his life in front of the cameras into a drama that inspires pity, as a way of supporting him.
People confuse, this is not surprising, he already did it in a public forum when he promoted his book, it is not courage or vulnerability to talk about his most intimate things before the camera, he decided to speak without discretion, and it is not innermost because his beliefs and convictions change according to the moment.
Have you ever wondered how his elder brother feels if he also grew up without his father?
#MiK2 #Waypoints #MeninKilts #Starz
@shinycomputerqueen @scdenmark Yeah! Sam has been telling different versions since Clanlands 1. He also mentioned that he sparked an emotional reunion with his estranged father when revealed that he first met his father as an adult while he was on his deathbed. How can anyone explain this unique version? This was published in Scotland.
At its essence, this saying tells us it's alright to lie, omit the facts, or twist the plot for the sake of a good story. This is definitely an appropriate quote for SH.
@supermassivetragedy Regarding your observations, you hear him say... “three years” (not a few years) He is an inconsistent, unpredictable man, he does not behave in the same way every time a similar situation occurs. Regardless of the reason, it can be frustrating to hear the same stories with different, inconsistent movements. SH is a narcissist supported by fans and friends, who think he is “special” and try to make him superior and he buys it. However, there may be other underlying psychological factors that contribute to this behaviour, such as a need for validation or a desire to establish a sense of identity or belonging.
Parents do not abandon their children. Here the father left for some reason unknown to us and apparently also for SH. There can be many reasons why a parent left, but I doubt it’s because of the child. (he or his brother)
In your observation ..” perhaps his mother didn’t want her children to know their father”… I can understand that the mother does not want her husband in her life perhaps the partner never kept his promises or fulfilled their part of the deal, who knows? but these are not valid situations for a mother to remove a child from his father’s life.
It’s not about the birth certificate. It’s about a child who didn’t have help at home to recognise and remember the name of his father. Sam frequented primary school when was a child. In Scotland when you send your child to school you need the original birth certificate to enrol your child in a nursery or school. The school knew his father’s name, and They didn't have to hide that from a child, that's natural.
@shoutlandish As a fan, you are emotional and that affects your logical reasoning: the evidence is in front of you, and you can't admit that he has a problem. I don't know which celebrity you mean. SH is not considered a celebrity, that's for his fan club and friends. He is not a so-called “A-list” celebrity. I consider you to be mistaken. Few things in life cannot be taken lightly because there are no small accomplishments, and making mistakes can be expensive.
He can't bring up a situation he wrote about before and then change the facts. He has memory lapses in which he cannot recall certain events or information about himself. This was a situation part of his personal life history, not an illusion of his life choices, these are not stories from a storyteller that fans feel they should treat with humour, like everything related to SH.
As you said, the image of Sam does not fit, because he has not convinced or persuaded everyone, and what he says after this, nobody will care. That's sad, Thank you for visiting my blog 💙
@marglyns People have different opinions. The point is that differences of opinion don't always lead to fruitful discussions with SH fans. This often leads to heated one-sided arguments and results in difficult emotions, which I don't have towards SH. They are not the same. People have the right to have opinions and thoughts of their own without eagerly waiting for the approval of anyone from the SH fan club.
Opinions are not altered or painted, just to console some and not upset them, because his obsessive fans don't accept that he makes mistakes. He does good things but tarnishes them with his mistakes because he never received the proper training.
If you don't accept feedback, that's your problem, not mine. Just don't suffocate or force them to accept their inconsistencies. You have the right to disagree, just as I have the right to express mine on my blog. As I said before My blog my rules, Thanks for your visit 💙

MIK2 ep2 @ 22:00 min Turn on the subtitles.
The tattoo artist is explaining the design and tells Sam “you were mentioning you didn’t know if you would settle down, you want to see the world”
Did that part get edited because we never heard Sam talk about not settling down with a wife and kids 🥺 I hate their games. Ready to turn my back on all things S and C.
Thanks for the heads up Anon but I cannot bring myself to watch MIK2 or any of Sam's or Caitriona's projects. I will take your word for it that the subtitles read as such and they most likely edited that part of the conversation out. Pretending to have such a deep and meaningful conversation with a tattoo artist is actually taking the piss out of not only the audience but the man he is having a conversation with. I see it as disrespectful but it's all ACTing at the end of the day. Considering that the tattooist is a Maori and the segment was exploring elements of Maori culture. To lie and to decieve in that context, at that magnitude is in poor taste. But is it so shocking when you consider that Cait named Tony as the son in law on her Fathers death notice? Sam and Cait have shown their true colours. Unless of course Cait has been married to Tony all along and Tony really is the proud Father of Augustus Leo, and we really are the deplorables that SC paint us to be 🤪🤡. Fortunately we've seen too much and know too much at this point in the game. We have the gift of seeing the truth amongst the lies. Seeing through the smokescreen. So it's just business as usual Anon.

Im trying to fit this timeline with the new Zealand timeline, any thoughts @margareth-lv ?? Surely he was there for the birth, so early January to February?? 3 weeks max for MIK2??
🌟⚱️ Real treasure, genuine gold⚱️🌟
Sometimes in the life of a blogger there are moments when she (😉) stumbles upon real gold, real treasure.
Sometimes, all too rarely, there are situations like in the Indiana Jones films, when this blogger stumbles upon a treasure so magnificent that it takes her breath away.
🤩
Today I would like to come back to you with my real treasure, with a 'Story of a Lost Photograph'.
🧾🧾🧾
On 12 January 2022, during the nightmarish promotional tour for 'Belfast', Caitríona appeared on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'. Remember The Entrance of An Absolute Queen?
Remember the bump? The pineapple madness?
*** *** ***
A short time later, the following photo appeared on the Instagram profile of the photographer (@paulandrew_nyc):
I quickly took a screenshot. Is anyone going to try and convince me that the woman in the photo is not pregnant?
🤰🏻
I think that anyone who can't see the pregnancy in this photo is simply blind. This was taken on 12 January 2022. Little Soul was (supposedly) five months old at the time. Now the photo of the pregnant woman on the photographer's profile is no longer there, it has disappeared. It has evaporated.
What has happened to it? Isn't the absence of a photograph that once existed the best proof of its inconvenience? Isn't the absence of a photo the best proof it was out of place? That it has spoiled the story of someone (who is powerful)?
I love these golden nuggets, filtered through tonnes of mud.

I‘m not sure if you will answer my question, but I‘m new here and read a lot of blogs to get info about Sam and Cait. I know the most don‘t like P Redux and the stories she told, but it seems she had sources for some information she get and sometimes they sound crazy, but sometimes there are infos which nobody had before. In this case she get the info, that MIK2 and the 3rd book will air next year. Could this be true?
I don't usually respond to questions about this blogger, but I'll just concede to you now that you're actually new here and reading through a lot of blogs, as I did in the beginning to get an overview and sew up all the sites.
I think little of their so-called sources and on the subject you mentioned MIK2 and book 3 shows why.
Twitter is everyone's friend and has little to do with any "personal" sources.
