appalachia is devastated. towns i loved, towns i visited all the time, are gone. not damaged, GONE. they are leveled to the ground. there is nothing left but rubble and ruin. people are dead. appalachia is poor to begin with and relies on tourism for a lot of its income, and multiple of those tourist locations are just...gone.
my town is okay, but it's flooded and wrecked. trees are blocking all but one way out of our neighborhood. power lines are hanging limp in the roads. we've been without power for over 24 hours and will continue to be without power for likely another 24+. disabled people and poor people are GOING to die from this. gods save appalachia.

I think the problem with Bree, and by extension, Broger, is that Bree wasn’t a really well developed character even in the books. DG described her as “a tough nut”, basically, character that didn’t come easily to her. She just shows up as a teen who is angry at Claire after learning the truth. No development of her close relationship with Frank, only her saying so. The show could have added more there, but they didn’t. So, she remained a shallow, one dimensional character at the start. That’s not much for an actress to work with, especially an inexperienced one. As SS hasn’t done much apart from Outlander, I continue to feel like she got the job of playing a poorly written character. I do think SS has improved over the years.
As for the imagery at the stones, I personally don’t like the way it was used. They are separated by time for a completely different reason. Their family was split in two by time (or so they thought) and doesn’t capture that.
Am I the minority not caring about Bree and Roger? It doesn't help that SS isn't a good actress but they are pushing her as an OL big deal when she's furthest from. And to top it off, production is copying JC in front of the stone in their own centuries for Bree/Roger. Casting has been flawless except with SS. Someone must have pulled some important strings to have her on.
I don't think you're in the minority. I do hear a lot skip the 'Broger' parts. Though have to say, I am a bit more curious about Roger and Buck back in time with a 'young' Dougal and Geilish.
I have to confess I had some doubtful thoughts about the idea to copy the stone pic. Not so sure it will be appreciated by OL fans (or perhaps part of the fandom) 🤷♀️ Though most are still complaining about the split of S7 and the long hiatus between the 2 parts

@bestjaydee I am sure did it for attention. Maybe JJ will run a story about it 😂. I doubt he’ll like the attention he gets from it, though (if any). The Beyhive doesn’t mess around. And the old adage of “any press is good press” doesn’t hold true anymore; her fans have the power to slam anything he does. Pretty much the entire world knows who she is, whether they like her or not. Her’s is less expensive, more widely available, and probably better. She can afford to buy more awards for it and more importantly, run major ad campaigns. His “limited batch” isn’t getting covered by Rolling Stone and Forbes and CNN, etc.
@gotraveltheworldluv Exactly. He acts like he invented the bottle design instead of just picking it out. Using black and gold labeling is standard marketing when one wants to suggest their product is a luxury/high end item. His ads for it basically copied David Beckham’s ads for Haig Club.
It’s beyond petty. It’s easier to name a celebrity who doesn’t have their own alcohol brand these days. That’s the business he went into. I would guess he had his legal team look into, which is why he didn’t say anything when her brand was first announced and now he’s trying to get what he can out of it since legally, he probably doesn’t have much ground to stand on. Probably didn’t with Graham McTavish, either.
Speaking of Graham, it’s unfortunately obvious for those paying attention to tell he let a little competition not only get in the way of what seemed to be a genuine friendship, but also an arguably better investment. Men in Kilts could have gone on indefinitely (which it still could, if Sam stops letting his ego get in the way). Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman just announced a new season of their Long Way series. And, SH and GMcT didn’t invent the buddy travel genre, either. 😂 I remember him throwing a similar passive aggressive tantrum when Alan Cumming and Miriam Margolyes did a buddy travel show.
Is he trying to get some of Beyoncé’s 316M followers to notice him🤔… or is he just being snarky? (Especially petty is the slight difference in font size on the Sassenach Spirits hashtag!)
Oh btw, Hibiki didn’t seem to mind you borrowing their design Sam..

He has his own company and seems to be a booking agent for cons and works as a liaison between the cast’s agents and the convention organizers. It looks like he only shows up when the bigger stars are attending (probably because they bring in more money and he’s there to make sure it goes smoothly for them). Caitriona rarely does unofficial cons, which is probably why we see him all the time with Sam, but never anyone else. I doubt he works for any of them personally or Starz. On Sasnak City’s page, he is listed as the person for talent booking inquiries.
It appears that Steve Himber serves as both SH's American manager and a CB employee. If this is the case, this freelancer from Outlander Con, like Highlanders7 in the UK this weekend, could be a Starz employee and might be utilizing the route available to US citizens seeking to work in the UK.
In the UK, anyone applying for a work permit must first receive an offer of employment, which comes in the form of a sponsorship certificate from a UK employer holding a sponsor license issued by the UK Border Agency (UKBA). The licence holder in this case would be STARZ. The strict points-based evaluation in his case is of little significance for STARZ.
When people wonder if there is no Host in the UK interested in this kind of work or if Outlander simply doesn’t excite in the UK as it does in the US, it's worth noting the low-key interest in the Outlander cast among Brits. What will Steven do when Outlander is over? 🧐

BoMB on the Outlander Starz socials is billed as “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” and there are no separate official social media pages for BoMB.
A security guard saying Outlander could just as easily be referring to BoMB. I still think it is more likely to be that than S8. I know the show deviates but that would be major and they don’t usually go that far off base. They made bad choices sometimes for “wouldn’t it be fun”, but still mostly stayed in the same vein as the books.
*Book Spoilers and Speculation with Possible Spoilers*
Obviously we don’t know where S7-B will end, but considering they didn’t know there would be an S8, they wrote the scripts for S7 assuming it would be the last. Safe bet the second half with include Roger, Bree, and kids returning to the Ridge in the 18th century. That would have wrapped the show up nicely with the family being reunited if it turned out to be the end. But it also would work if they got another season. Which they did.
According to Maril, S8 will mostly be based on Bees and the casting announcements support that. There is no time travel in Bees. And given what does happen to our main protagonists, it seems they are firmly planted in the 18th century.
DG has no interest in writing about Claire’s parents and made it clear they aren’t going to be in her prequel at all. But they will be in the show, thus a completely original show story. She said in a podcast that there will be time travel in 💣 but that was all she could say about it. But then she replied to a fan on Facebook (paraphrasing) that both of Claire’s parents had to be time travelers if there were to be good conflict while maintaining her usual stance that only one had to be but didn’t know it in her book world.
IMO, more to support BoMB being filmed there than S8.
I was on the same VIP Outlander tour with this couple and we all assumed it was season 8 that was being filmed (security did NOT say what was being filmed he just said we can’t go up there because they’re setting up for filming). We had dinner with Sophie Skelton a few days later and she said she “believes” BOMB was filming at the stones, NOT Season 8. So…there’s no real confirmation one way or the other. We’ll just have to wait and see!
Well the couple said so, so going by that for now. As well as the VIP outlander tour tagging it in their post
Don't know if Sophie would be allowed to say it was for S8 as well as it seems nobody is allowed to say or post anything about it. They're quite secretive about it all, including extras who in former seasons listed their activity for OL.
btw. I think the video from outlanderpastlives is not the same day, they posted it last Tuesday 11 June saying 'today'. It showed filming activity as well, which I do not see in the couples footage and this pic vipoutlander posted
But as you say, we'll wait and see... (probably along wait lol)

The truth according to which shipper? Because y’all haven’t agreed on a spin yet.
Or if y’all should just stick with slowed down gifs that cuts Cait kissing multiple cast members or a badly edited video that makes their heads look like double sized white blobs with no distinctive features of human beings?
Or should I believe the shippers that claim Sam was behind Cait with his arms around her waist?
What about John Bell blocking the kiss? Never mind the ridiculousness of that, because he didn’t block it. Nor was he aware there was anything to be blocked as they were behind him and wasn’t paying attention. Or aware that there was a camera panning the entire arena at that moment.
What happened to the controlling bitch Cait who fought so hard for a decade to keep this all hidden but suddenly doesn’t care anymore? I bet y’all go back to controlling bitch Cait next time she’s seen with her husband.
Or, what happened to TPTB forcing them to hide? A show publicist was there, too. I haven’t seen shippers mention her because that doesn’t fit any narrative. It’s been a week since the concert and neither S or C have been “punished” for it. No pap walks with escorts. No last minute appearances arranged with the “fake” hubby with a “twitchy” eyed C.
The truth is that it was a kiss on the cheek. And Cait kissed multiple members of the cast on the cheek. Why aren’t shippers talking about that? Oh right, y’all don’t want to handle the truth. More fun to peddle fan fiction.
Anyone that watches the entire video will find it more compelling. Y’all can’t handle the truth.
Would someone please explain (because I fail to understand) why a c/d list pair have to keep their romance/marriage/children hidden? Why he uses Lamma/bunny “ladies” and other scantily clad/barely educated, chavtastic young women with no visible means of support? Why she married another man she’s been with for years and subsequently had a child with.
Believe me Hollywood isn’t looking at a romance between leads, and a romance between the stars might’ve given the show a bigger story in the press and more viewers to watch it unfold.

And don’t forget the one with the long winded explanation of the video where she explained Caitriona wasn’t sure how to act when asked for a selfie. And tried to pass off the event security guard as a personal handler to make sure the super secret relationship didn’t get exposed.
We could try to the truth. That Sam and Caitriona were in the press area and the fan broke the rules by asking for a picture. Hence the security guard watching. And Caitriona was paying attention to what was happening on stage, not to Sam, who of course was happy to pose with the fan. And he only got Cait’s attention when the fan made it clear she wanted Cait in the picture, too. She placed a huge emphasis on how naturally Sam put his arm around Cait, ignoring the fact that Cait put her arm around the fan with just as much ease. The shipper, of course, did not actually share the video (didn’t need to because she watched it so carefully many times over). Because why let people see for themselves when you can write fan fiction about how a romantic moment was interrupted?
Never mind that anyone who engages in the fandom knew the cast was at the concert. Never mind that a show publicist was with the cast. Never mind Sam was desperately trying to get attention from Taylor and her massive fan base days before.
Selfie Reveal
Fake news as everything else shippers have ever sold about OL.
They share the selfie picture of the fan, selling she caught SC together holding each other.
THE TRUTH: Another fan catches on video the exact sequence fan is talking to SH for her selfie and she requests that he calls C who's out there doing her own thing, to join them in her picture. Of course he can't miss the chance to grab her.
Fake news all the time, like London marathon footage hiding.

I really don’t understand the perspective of Michael Douglas on the use of intimacy coordinates. He‘s certainly not alone. Michael Caine and Sean Bean (both of whom I think are outstanding actors), amongst others, have shared similar opinions. And from my perspective, they don’t seem to understand that’s the point of and IC. The “spontaneity” is what what caused a great many actors to feel uncomfortable. And I think a good IC would be able to overcome that, anyway.
These are good examples of how different actors view them. I wanted to add Jack O’Connell’s view on them. For anyone not familiar, when he was in his late teens, he portrayed a character named Cook on the show UK show “Skins”. Cook was, to be perfectly blunt, a character who would have sex with any willing female. Since then, Jack has never shied away from doing sex scenes and is one of the few actors who will go full frontal. He did it on stage for “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and most recently for Netflix’s “Lady Chatterly’s Lover” with Emma Corrin as Lady Chatterly.
Anyone who has seen that (or even familiar with the story) knows the sex is a integral part of it. It’s very graphic and, imo, on the Netflix make, tastefully done. Jack O’Connell was no stranger to graphic sex and nudity prior to that, but had never worked with an intimacy coordinator before. And he had this to say about it:
“He and Corrin worked together with Ita O’Brien, an intimacy coordinator. Two words unheard of when O’Connell was just a young lad getting his start as Cook, a randy, raucous teen on Skins. “My career definitely predates the intimacy coordinator age.” Last year, fellow Skins stars April Pearson and Laya Lewis, both of whom preceded O’Connell’s arrival in season three, have since said they didn’t feel protected on the show. Was he ever uncomfortable? “It’s hard to say that you’re ever totally comfortable [filming sex scenes]. Listen, I admit I was very naive at the time, enough so as to not check in with myself and question myself if I was feeling comfortable or not. It just felt like part and parcel of the programme in a very different time than the one we’re in now.”
It’s better now, O’Connell clarifies. “I think what’s important is that them discussions are being had to make sure that whatever was happening [on Skins] that wasn’t right, it seems, is addressed and doesn’t repeat itself.” The fact of the matter is, however, natural or sexy it may look, feigning intercourse on screen is nerve-wracking. “You feel very compromised and if you don’t feel that you’re protected in that environment, it can be very unnecessarily daunting.””

Who are the two women who called Sam out? Monica A? Who else? Very sketchy backstop before and after OL. Agree with your Bond comments 100%. Yes too much baggage for any franchise. Too wishy washy on nudity issues and throwing CB under bus. Thank you!
Oh, hello there, anon. You’re my first, congratulations.
Yes, Monika A. The other was Paige Woolen. She wasn’t upset about it but she did say something like she and Sam were suppose to meet up but he cancelled after she posted paparazzi pictures of herself on her Instagram. According to her, he specifically mentioned the picture when he cancelled, calling them nice, and she felt like he cancelled because he thought she would use him to get attention. It was on a podcast. I’m sorry, but I can’t remember which one. And those are just the two who named him.
As you put it, anon, baggage. He panders to his mostly female base by talking about his body image issues and feeling forced to do nude scenes. Just about every woman in the world can relate to that. Well, not the nude scenes, lol. I think he knows exactly what he’s doing with that. He’s a man trying to appeal to women by pretending like he understands what they are talking about. Full frontal nude scenes. He filmed them. He successfully got them cut. Key there is he SUCCESSFULLY got them cut. He got praise for talking about how uncomfortable he was filming nude scenes with Tobias and how he felt pushed into them. What happens when an actress says that? “Oh, they were happy to take the paycheck”. Like, dude, seriously. Women are finally being heard and he wants to insert himself into that conversation. Body image, my arse. He either loves working out or he doesn’t.
Anyway, at this point, he’s spent his decade career with pandering to Outlander fans. It won’t last. And I’m sure the Bond franchise isn’t going to fall for it. No matter how much he begs for it.

Oh, is this a new episode of “As the The World Turns : SC Shipper Edition”? Last time I checked, Cait was using just one of her 25 children with Sam to get Oscar nominations and further her career. She made her family pose for a photograph with Tony at her father’s funeral, where she also photoshopped a baby’s eyes to look brown and sold it to the press.
But now, she’s being being a good stay at home mum and put aside her career aspirations for Sam, who spends most of his time as far away from his family as possible to make money and provide for his family?
And then when have the broke PA Tony, who we all know is broke because YOU CAN GOOGLE IT. Why is broke when he’s being paid to keep such an enormous, earth shattering secret? Caitriona must have something really bad on him to pay him so little that he’s broke.
What a load of horse manure ES are spewing. They don't know her at all and see her as the little woman while he's the star at the helm of the imaginary family and his over inflated career.
'This is why we don’t see her very often and why her gin business is languishing. She’s prioritized being a mom. Sam is out hustling to provide for their family.'
Have I time travelled back to the ‘50s?

I doubt it means he’s traveling. More realistically, he probably doesn’t have any promo to share right now. Any of the interviews he did for Outlander and MIK prior to the strikes have been released. I think he over promotes anything to do with himself, but even I don’t believe he kept a list of links to those to drop the moment the strike ended. There isn’t anything to promote for those at the moment. He could be busy doing interviews for TCND, which would make the most sense to me given that it suppose to air soon.
To be honest, the strike is over an I thought that Sam would bomb fans with all his projects, but only one post. Seem like he might be flying cross the sea and that is why he is off.
Oh ffs give the man some time (and slack) The strike has officially just been over since 12am PT! So in theory he already posted before it is officially over (and I don't say that to accuse him of that to be clear).
We're all happy it's finally over and things can get started up again.

And the shippers are also trying to suggest The Tasting Alliance booked the suite. Why on earth would a company that no one has ever heard of spend upwards of $5k USD to film a two minute long announcement that the gin won gold? Their Instagram doesn’t even have 9000 followers. And it was from someone who said on the video she didn’t know how to pronounce his name initially.
The other spin is Shutters comped the room for free promo. What sort of promo is it when fans had to do research to place the location? I know the “theories” around that and none of them are rooted in logic. Because why would a high end hotel comp an expensive hotel suite in the hopes that a very small fan faction would puzzle it out? Let alone be able to afford it? Come on, now. A luxury resort doesn’t need to comp a suite for an actor most people haven’t heard of to *insert theory of choice here*.
Why are people saying the Shutters pic is a latergram? If you look at the IG for the woman who took it she’s traveling down the CA coast with her family and staying/eating at nice places. Why is everything a conspiracy in the fandom. It’s also likely he left the swank business write-off accommodations and is staying with AN now that his shill-a-thon is over.
It's mainly on the shippers accounts the picture is disputed and determined as latergram. Why? Because they can't make things fit, they haven't been able to put him and C (and all their boos for that matter) at the same location since the premiere in NYC. No proof for anything. Though, we don't see where C is or what she's doing, which leaves a lot of room to speculate and make things up, we can see where Sam is and what he is doing. And that doesn't look anything like hiding a wife with 5 boos or more.
So yes, what to do, when there's no factual evidence of anything and the proof that is there shows the contradictions in full color. You create chaos and doubts. I saw a lengthy post about a house in the hills in LA based on follows of years ago. That's the proof... yeah, right. Wouldn't stand up in any courtroom right? Against a friend whom he's seen with all the time and owns a house in HH in LA and several recordings are done there. A house often used as place to stay for friends that are over, like we've seen Valbo posting proof and AN. Now go figure what proof would be admissible in court and what wouldn't?
Anyway, fortunately this isn't all that serious to have a court with a jury to decide on it all. Lol... they're just 2 actors from a show. So what's the fuzz about. And it's so easy to determine if you just look at things with an open mind and not with some tunnel vision better known as confirmation bias.
To come to the real part of your question. The doubts that are thrown out there is the hair length (hmm, what does that remind me off... oh wait, didn't they try to make me look ridiculous for a certain timeline last year for that? ) So much looking at things with a certain bias.
Yes, his hair looks slightly longer in the Shutter pic. compared to maybe Sunday, and i've seen one that triied to compare it with the boat footage where his hair is constantly in the wind and blown backwards....
Anyway, ever heard of grooming? His hair needs constantly grooming, we all know what it looks in front now don't we? If you haven't just pause that video of the servedup podcast at the sec he briefly takes his hat off (and puts it on right away)... No, I'm not posting that still.... 🤐
And well the scar, c'mon shipppers, he's frowning and that scar is hidden by the frown. That was an easy one
And if the fan pic of yesterday didn't convince you yet about the clothing. Yes, yes, I know the Tuesday pic had short sleeved T-shirt, and in the fan pic of yesterday no sleeves. Both pictures are RT. He wears the same clothes, just another shirt under the vest.
The ultimate proof though is the water bottle... (poor shipper that couldn't find out the logo, try Google lens, first hit 💥 ). It's the Mananalu water bottle of Jason Momoa. Which if you just take a brief look on the Shutter IG account, you see they serve them in the rooms.
Blimey... you say, but but but... they could have served them for longer no? Well, just find the post of on the Mananalu IG account of 14 February 2022
Well, we have to look for a date he was in LA then after 14 february 2022! He was in LA for the OL premiere, March 7 2022 but not at Shutters, he stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel, as always when he's there on OL's account. See, that's where timelines come in handy... (and why shippers hate me so much for it).
Anyway, he was there summer 2022, recorded a live IG in his room and another promo announcing his gin. But, talking about hair lengths, I don't need to remind you what his hair looked at that time, now do I?
So far this lesson of sleuthing.... (get your facts right, check, double check and keep an open mind)

He’s almost certainly a member of SAG, too. That would limit roles available to him right now. Plus, season 8 was scheduled to begin filming in early fall. Which is soon. Contractually, he is obligated to Outlander above any projects. Even though there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight for the strikes, he may not be able to sign on for some Equity project that could conflict with that once things start up again.
Outlander is only impacted by the writer’s strike. And while no official writing is being done, I find it hard to believe that the writers are just sitting around participating in picket lines all day, every day waiting for they day they can resume their jobs.
Back to S. I 100% believe his liquor flogging tour at random stores was thrown together at the last minute in lieu of him not being able to promote MIK2 and the remaining episodes of OL. Then a holiday (if I remember correctly, he told fans that at the super secret exclusive Outlander con). And if not for the strikes, he’d be back to filming Outlander after that.
As an Equity member isn't he allowed to film UK projects during SAG-AFTRA strike? If he is, he doesn't seem to have anything else beyond TCND.
Yes UK projects can go ahead

It wasn’t work. It was a “reward” for the people who threw together a mini promo tour of random liquor stores in random cities at the last minute. And of course, they filmed something that could be used as social media promo for it. But otherwise, it was a party on a boat. The people who posted about aren’t known to the vast majority of fans.
As for Sam, he has no brand beyond the Outlander fandom. He relies on the OL connection as his brand name. He probably is trying to grow it, but he’s a very small fish in a big ocean of celebrity branded alcohol. Blake Lively got more attention for her’s and she doesn’t even drink. She has famous friends to endorse her mad crazy cocktail making skills, though. Sam doesn’t have those powerhouse friends. He’s got AN, the Nics, Marina, and some paid entry fee “awards” where all submissions get a prize. He’s never going to appeal to connoisseurs with a product designed to please mass palates that comes with a high price tag and a nice bottle he “designed himself”. So, yeah, agree with anon. This isn’t going to help brand or image. The Sam Outlander fans are the only ones paying attention.
Shippers' explanation for the boat tacky video is that it's just work. Nothing about the presumed wife and untold number of kids left behind while he's been away for months having fun with shady looking people. And if the intent was to appeal to a younger demographics, the gay guys don't help his image or brand, especially in OL.
LOL well not much to add here, pretty good analysis 🙌🏼

My take on all of this is that it seems like nothing is being done to grow the brand. These events are useless because they are only reaching Sam fans. Sam/Outlander fans are the only ones showing up. They are already buying and just come for an autograph and a photo op with Sam. That is not growth or success. It’s maybe a small profit. Whiskey or gin drinkers aren’t going to go for the over-priced generically palate pleasing blends for that price point. He is not doing meet and greets in liquor stores to reach those people.
And yes, leaving out a good chunk of the world isn’t helping. Nor is it a sign that it is as successful as Sam fans let themselves believe. Getting it into other countries should be a priority but other than some “we are working on it” promises, it isn’t happening. The why is pretty obvious to me. It won’t sell enough to make a profit so it’s not actually a priority. Same with some US states. The states where it would cost more to sell it due to stricter regulations aren’t a priority, either.
I have an associates degree (2 year program) in business management and run my own small business and this just reeks of amateur hour. This is simply not how one develops a sustainable business. As for Sam’s involvement on this tour, I’m guessing, but I doubt he would be doing it at all if not for the strike. He would have been busy promoting MIK2 during this time and it seems like a filler for him. Not sure that’s the best use of his time for ANY of his work.
I do think he works hard for his brand, the issue here (I believe) may be AN. They don’t have the right support. They can’t always expect SH celebrity status to be the main support of the brand, he is not that know (sorry but true), still love him ❤️ There has to be a team that is dedicated solely to the brand and promote it. The “company” has the same people working on MPC, SS, accessories and film production, hence MIK but their website is not even running it’s a front, it’s a huge loss right there. For example, Maximum Effort is a Ryan Reynolds’s film production company, they concentrate on that he appears on some vids but runs by its self, aviation gin Ryan Reynolds’s too different team, you get my point.
They are stretched too thin and cannot manage everything themselves with the few people they have and it shows. Someone has to be out doing the deals, making the announcements ahead of time, publishing content constantly, and customer management. They don’t, it’s shows on the quality of content, quality of the places and primarily on the quality of consistency.
From your posts I am not surprised the majority of the sales is in the U.S. that’s where the largest fan base is and it did help launch, now they have concentrate how to pivot into a better quality market i.e. Fort Lauderdale is a “cheap” get wasted kind of place and you won’t find a good market for Gin nor quality whisky and forget about Tequila, it’s overcrowded. They need to focus better on where to take it and how to sell it. It’s winning competitions then take it where it will be valued.
Also, what’s happening to the EU market? Last known news was that they lost the trade name to an old German whisky name similar to the Sassenach.
In all better PR, better team, better leadership.
That’s my two cents.
——————————
Above submitted.
An is not alone the issue, it’s as much as himself as well. He just wants to keep control too much. Trusting AN for the daily business. I agree, having the same team for all his endeavors, and mostly people related to AN, is an issue. And for as far as I’ve seen for quite a long time is there’s not really a dedicated marketing team nor strategy plan for it. Beginning with the websites, the SS website is just a front as well, and so are all the websites for the books. It’s just how can we as fast as possible direct you to the purchase button. they forget that people (especially if we focus on people outside the OL fandom) need to be convinced, why is it that makes this product special, why would I want to buy it. Not because it is Sam Heughan who created it. It needs something else! And they do have a story to tell, but they just skip that whole part. Rely on the ‘related products’ on the ReserveBar site.
About the numbers, you must take into account that these numbers are the numbers of the ReserveBar sales pages. If you’re located in Europe, you will be redirected to Masters of Malt, and Canada you get directed to Willowpark and only see the tequila! So not that surprising the majority sales for RB are in the US. Though the largest part of his fanbase is in the US. That said, EU/Canada and other countries are not really on the priority list and how can you expect numbers to grow if it’s not? Growth strategy should be focussing on where there is room to grow, and it most certainly includes EU.
Germany is a lost case. I know there is this German fan constantly posting and asking people to sign a petition. They lost the case in Germany, and rightfully so, there is a company many years old, to which the SS name shows too much similarity(Theo Sasse) It’s not a German whisky though, but related to beverages and food if I recall right. Why would someone give up their rights they owned for many years, and have their brand compromised because some actor that didn’t do the best research when choosing the name? Do people understand how that is a family business that is on the market for a very long time and worked hard to have their brand established? Why do they think SH would have more rights for the name? Just because he is SH? Good thing the court doesn’t think so!
