Kanarielle Aquilla - Morrigan (Dragon Age), Eliza Cassan, Red (Transistor), Daenerys Targaryen, Rapunzel (Tangled), Hama (ATLA), Vladimir Lenin, Lady Amalthea;

Kanarielle started out as a self-insert. Her main influence nowadays is Eliza Cassan with Lenin following closely behind.

Esmir Sorano - Long Feng, Irene Engel, Cersei Lannister, Maleficent (Angelina Jolie), Delilah Copperspoon, Olenna Tyrell, Almalexia;

Esmir practically made herself from ground up. With age, obviously, she was influenced by all the mentioned characters. Cersei though is her main icon. At first, she was more of Irene Engel, then gradually turned more and more gray. Maleficent pretty much made her do a 180.

Markus Sorano - Shuhei Hisagi, Daniel Murillo (Hollywood Undead), Prince Zuko, Ariel (the Little Mermaid 1989);

Mark is his own character that hadn't had massive influence on him from the outside, however, IDK how it happened, but his looks department is totally influenced by Danny Murillo.

Catherine Graves - Catherine Chun, Retsu/Yachiru Unohana, Meridia, Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, Ursa (ATLA);

Unohana go brrrrrrrrrrr. Merged Unohana and Meridia into one and sprinkled some Luna for angst on top. Cath is a remix on Meridia from the roleplays I had with my friend.

Kara-Issur Sorano - Kemankesh (Muhteşem Yüzyıl);

Lmao, I just wanted my own Kemankesh.

Malcolm McCain - Percival Graves (Fantastic Beasts), David Sarif, Fire Lord Ozai;

Malcolm is the roleplay character my friend and I had that evolved from Molag Bal. We really loved Meridia/Bal ship, I think you can guess where it ended up being.

Visenya Quintillius - Marian Hawke (Humorous), Ty Lee (ATLA);

A knock off humorous Marian Hawke that somehow gained sentience and became annoying as fuck. She's what Livaen originally used to be personality-wise.

Livaen Sorano - Claudia Auditore, Sansa Stark, Mihrimah Sultan (Muhteşem Yüzyıl), Orihime Inoue, Hatice Sultan (Muhteşem Yüzyıl);

Livaen was made to be a background copy of Claudia Auditore that somehow managed to suck into herself some of Orihime's characteristics. With time, she was influenced by Sansa Stark, then Mihrimah and Hatice.

Meltem Esteban - Rangiku Matsumoto, Isabela (Dragon Age), Mistral (Metal Gear Rising), Tier Harribel;

Meltem was a Walmart Isabela till she suddenly grew a lot bigger than I intended. I love her so much.

Such sweet messages just make me still want to keep this blog running even though tumblr is dying and it feels so lonely here now.

I’m mostly a stanner of less powerfu/more underrated characters, Kösem is literally the only of most important SOW sultanas I truly stan in the shows.

MC: Mahidevran, Hatice, Fatma Sultan, Şah, Mihrünnisa, Defne, Gülfem, Firuze (ahahah) ,Mihrimah (more as character creation I love than character I have strong emotional bond with, not saying she’s a bad person though)

MCK: Kösem of course (all Kösems, but most of all Nurgül!Kösem) Handan, Hümaşah, Gevherhan, Telli Hümaşah, Gölge, Lalezar, both Ayşe Sultans, Şivekar 

I like a lot more of course!

Out of big “5″,*unpopular opinion time* I really dislike Hürrem, she’s a fine character creation, but never spoke to me at any level & I personally find her annoying (and while I understand that/why she has her fans, I still find her vastly overrated tbh, I think without Meryem and her “meme expressions” she wouldn’t be as worshipped, as we can see how Vahide! Hürrem is treated by the fandom and it’s still very much the same character at the core) *end of unpopular opinion time*. I find Mihrimah and Nurbanu interesting&entertaining characters, Safiye was an iconic villain, and well... I really, absolutely hate MYK Turhan 😊.

The Turkish Flying Carpet – Alper Aytac’s Golden Horn Library wins Architizer A+Awards

Alper Aytac’s design for the Golden Horn Library was selected as a 2021 Architizer A+ Awards Jury Winner in the Institutional – Unbuilt category. The Golden Horn Library will be located in Galata, a historic neighborhood at the crossroads of Istanbul, Turkey’s cultural and visual memories.

The Galata District was once the Genoese quarter of the city and was surrounded by its own city walls and towers. Today, nearly all the walls are gone, but the iconic Galata Tower remains and provides the district with its identity.

The Golden Horn Library looks across the waters of the Golden Horn to the Historical Peninsula, overlooking the seven hills of Istanbul, each hill crowned with its own monument. Views include Hagia Sophia, Nuruosmaniye Mosque, Suleymaniye Mosque, The Cistern of Mocius, Fatih Mosque, and Yavuz Selim Mosque to the southeast, and Mihrimah Sultan Mosque to the northwest. These seven hills represent the history of old Constantinople, surrounded by historic city walls. Views of the dancing domes of the seven hills, and the iconic Galata Tower, provide a silhouette of the city over the Golden Horn.

Alper Aytac states: “The Golden Horn Library was conceived as almost a “Turkish Flying Carpet”, woven by the culture and the context”. The profiles of the monuments and the axiality of the seven hills pointing towards the Galata Tower form the main roofscape, with the three closest hills inspiring the roofscape housing the functions of the library and learning center. The remaining hills, set further away, provide a smooth transition between the building and the landscape, functioning as a sort of plinth of public space between interior and exterior.

Sectionally and proportionally, the nearby Azapkapi Sokullu Mosque, designed by the great architect, Sinan, sets the precedent, with its elevated prayer hall almost floating over the city to protect the interior against bustling city noise. This strategy was duplicated in order to insulate the library and learning center from noise. Beneath, the ground level houses the busier and noisier activities of the auditorium, a spiraling children’s library, and a restaurant.

Alper Aytac states: ”The Golden Horn Library is a beacon of knowledge in the city of Istanbul, and it aims to be an instrument of connectivity between symbols of the city on both sides of the Golden Horn. It radiates energy that is injected into the city, rather than funneling energy out of the city for itself.”
