Chapter One
On the last leg of a week-long trip to San Diego, Daya Galindo did her best to remain engaging, open, and approachable.
Along with thirty other members of San Diego’s elite inner circle, she occupied one Petco Park’s most expensive and exclusive Skyboxes. Many of her nights were spent in the same Skybox attending the Padre’s baseball games.
This time, however, the Skybox has been transformed into a ballroom of sorts. Several circular tables were spaced out in the large room, eight chairs provided at each. Simple but elegant centerpieces decorated the tables.
The $10,000 a night Skybox opened up to the empty stadium on one side, and a breathtaking view of San Diego’s skyline on the other side. The sliding floor-to-ceiling windows were closed, and Daya found herself missing the fresh air she enjoyed on game days.
Most attendees remained inside, adding to the suffocating feeling in her chest.
Her husband, commercial real estate mogul and serial entrepreneur, Miguel Galindo, was one of the few people outside on the brick terrace. He used the balcony to take a private call.
“You look so pretty!” Marcy Stevens, the wife of a potential business partner, complimented Daya in a chipper tone.
An eight-hundred dollar silk cocktail dress stopped just above her ankles. An equally expensive pair of nude heels complimented the deep red of her dress. The front was designed to cover her breasts, giving the illusion of modesty while the fabric hugged her curves, outlining her shape. Thin straps were tied intricately on the back of the low cut dress. The ensemble was on-brand for Mrs. Galindo, a perfect balance between sexy and classy.
The big, springy curls that framed her heart-shaped face, bunching around the top of her shoulders, were also on brand. Her makeup was done simply, shades of brown and gold to complement her features.
Marcy was right. She did look stunning.
Regardless, Daya did her best to appear humbled by the compliment. It wasn’t that she was cocky or arrogant. The truth was she had become numb.
“You too! I love your lipstick. What shade is it?”
“Hmm. I’m not sure.” The middle-aged woman considered it for a moment before ruffling through her compact.
With a bright smile, she held the tube of lipstick up victoriously. She passed it over to Daya to inspect.
After pretending to take note of the brand and shade in her mind, she passed the tube back to Marcy. “Thank you.”
She couldn’t care less what shade of lipstick the woman wore, but the name of the game was flattery. Fundraising galas, country club banquets, and art exhibits had all become a blur of polite one-liners one after the other.
“It’s so nice to see you.” She lied even when it wasn’t.
“We have to have dinner and drinks soon.” She said to be polite, even when she’d rather not spend her time discussing the newest fashion releases with bored housewives.
“How are the kids?” She asked, although she had no interest in listening to parents ramble on about how great their mediocre children were.
“I love your dress. Who designed it?” Chances were she didn’t care.
A lively buzz of murmurs was standard for these events. Conversations flowed as freely as the champagne. Whether it was to foster relationships or just pass the time, people desperately spewed out the words like they would die if they couldn’t get it all out.
The constant chatter annoyed her, but Daya was able to connect with almost anyone on some level.
She knew a little bit about a lot of things, so conversations about sports, stock-trading, or even spa treatments were right up her alley. She never would have imagined herself as the type of woman to participate in meaningless conversations daily, but alas, she was. Her experience as a member of California’s high society was a far cry from her upbringing.
Daya Galindo was born Dayana Sims inside a community hospital in Hawthorne, California. Her mother, Denise Sims, settled in Cali sometime during her pregnancy. Denise didn’t talk about her life before Daya much. Her daughter knew almost nothing about her mother’s family or her reasons for moving to California. She didn’t even know her dad!
Daya was as inquisitive as any kid. She often wondered about him—who he was, what he looked like, where he lived, and if he ever thought about her. Her mother shut down any questions about him. The answer was always ‘stay in a child’s place’ or ‘grow up and let it go’. That was her mother’s response to anything uncomfortable, and inadvertently she taught her daughter to shrink herself to avoid conflict.
It was one of many bad habits that years of expensive therapy hadn’t completely fixed.
Denise had also taught her daughter to not form attachments. They moved around a lot when Daya was young. Most times it was only a few cities over, but each time she left someone behind. There was no explanation for why. That’s just how it was. She made it through her teens and early twenties without feeling the need to set down roots.
Her husband, Miguel, changed that.
On paper, Miguel Galindo was everything any woman would want in a husband. He was wealthy, smart, handsome, and charming when he wanted to be.
An honors graduate of Stanford, he quickly established a name for himself in business. Fresh out of college, he moved to New York and started a career in luxury real estate. From there, his interests transferred to commercial properties, and thus the entrepreneur in him was born. Miguel now owned successful businesses on both the East and West Coast.
When Daya met Miguel, he was new to Santo Padre and adjusting to his new lifestyle. The man who raised him died, and his mother, Dita was a wreck. Miguel vividly remembered the sounds of Jose beating Dita a room over, and the way he viciously chose his words to cut her down. Everyone thought she would be excited to start the next chapter of her life without him, but Dita took his death the hardest.
Becoming the man of the family meant his own complicated relationship with Jose was put on the back burner. His mother needed him, and the family business desperately needed tending to.
As the couple’s only child, he was the obvious heir. Regardless of his feelings about it, it was inevitable. Miguel’s future had been decided before he was even born.
Through the crystal clear glass, Daya watched Miguel’s face contort in annoyance. With a quick wave of his hand, he gestured for his head of security, Nestor Oceteva, to join him at his side. A few words were uttered between them before they were making their way inside. She expected Miguel to rejoin her at the table, but instead, he made a beeline for the elevators.
She was a little concerned, but not alarmed. If anything had gone seriously wrong, Miguel would be by her side, excusing them for the evening. He probably just needed more privacy.
Daya stepped up in his absence, focusing on the Stevens’ project in front of her.
Tom Stevens was Marcy’s husband and the owner of a chain of hotels in downtown San Diego. Property value in San Diego was higher than ever and steadily increasing, which made the hotels a worthy addition to Miguel’s portfolio.
An epiphany inspired Tom. He was passionate about the hotels because he built them from the ground up, but he realized his passion was better suited for home.
Marcy was a forty-something widower who decided to give love another chance with Tom. He was ten years her senior and even more unlucky in love, but he didn’t let his previously failed relationships stop him from trying again. The couple were newlyweds, and it showed with the way they giggled and grinned at each other every few seconds. It was cute watching them interact like love-struck teenagers.
Daya and Miguel had their moments, of course, but what they had was much different than the Stevens’. The young couple had gone through their rough patches and made it out on the other side, but the newlywed glimmer was definitely gone. Tom and Marcy were still open to each other and hopeful for the future. Willfully naive in Daya’s opinion.
No, what she and Miguel had was much more complicated. Neither of them trusted anybody completely, even themselves.
In between light conversation, she admired the night sky. In the distance, she could see the top of their hotel. It would be at least another hour before she could go back there, sinking into the king-sized mattress for the night. The Egyptian cotton sheets were calling her name.
“I was out in Brawley the other day, and I saw some of your signs up. What are you guys working on out there?”
If she remembered correctly, it was Luke that was speaking to her. Daya turned in her chair to face him as she responded.
Mama always said, “A woman’s work is never done.”
Another fifteen minutes passed before Miguel rejoined them, the vein in his forehead also present and in attendance.
Daya took a quick glance over her shoulder in search of Nestor. He wore a similar expression, confirming her suspicions.
They hadn’t resolved the problem.
Her hand found her husband’s thigh, softly stroking the strong muscle through his slacks. They sat close enough to the table that the movement was hidden. She smiled at him innocently when his eyes found hers for a second, a clear warning behind them.
A young woman with toffee-colored skin, and a short coiled Afro, approached the table, introducing herself as Eva.
Daya scanned her slim frame in the bright green dress she wore while Marcy explained how they met. Seven months ago, while volunteering at Skid Row, apparently.
Tom stood to offer Eva his seat, hand resting on the back of Marcy’s chair.
Eva talked about her non-profit organization, speaking passionately with her hands about what needed to be done to eradicate poverty. She shared her personal experience with homelessness, and how it shaped her life.
The expression on everyone’s faces said they were listening intently, but Daya knew better.
Millionaires didn’t care about poverty, because their wealth depended on it.
Daya had never been homeless, but she had been poor, and it wasn’t fun. Helping to dismantle capitalism was the last thing on her to-do list. She knew it was selfish, but she didn’t care.
While Eva spoke, Daya’s fingers inched up her husband’s thigh. She wasn’t surprised to find he was already half ready for her, his length thickening underneath his expensive slacks.
Miguel leaned over to whisper in her ear, the hairs of his beard just lightly tickling her ear.
“Watch yourself, conejita.”
The words sent a chill down her spine, but she didn’t remove her hand. Shifting in her seat, she crossed her legs in a poor attempt to dull the subtle throb below.
To her left, Luke asked Eva a question, diverting everyone’s attention to him. Daya used it as an opportunity to push her man further.
“Or what, papi?” The term of endearment rolled off her tongue with ease.
“Keep it up and you’ll find out.” He whispered through clenched teeth, speaking without moving his mouth. It reminded her of a mother scolding their child, and she resisted the urge to laugh.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time.” She warned Miguel, tapping his knee patronizingly.
Miguel’s arm came up to rest on the top of her chair, and his head dipped to whisper in her ear once more.
“Brat.” The word triggered something in her, and she bit the inside of her cheek.
A better woman would be annoyed by the nickname, or even insulted. Along with other words a wholesome woman wouldn’t appreciate, brat was a term of endearment between them.
Daya straightened, trying to clear her mind of dirty thoughts. The heated looks they were giving each other weren’t appropriate for the topic of discussion.
When she and Eva made eye contact, she nodded politely. When the woman stopped speaking, she would need to have something of substance to add to the conversation.
Tumblr media
“Are you ready to go?” Miguel asked his wife, hand resting on her hip. She sighed with relief at his words.
The two of them had left the table under the guise of socializing, only to slowly make their way out onto the balcony.
"I've been ready. I hate to say it, but Marcy is working on my last nerve." Daya groaned as she remembered how Marcy kept her locked down for the past forty minutes. She had left the woman inside, and she hoped Marcy had found someone else to occupy her time.
"I don't know how many more fake bathroom breaks I could have taken before she noticed it was just to get away from her."
Miguel smirked at his flustered wife. She had a good poker face and tried to sell that nothing could face her. It was always a little entertaining to see cracks in her facade.
“I just hope this is all worth it. I have a headache from listening to everyone talk, and I can feel blisters forming on my feet.” She complained, pouting up at him.
Miguel dropped a quick kiss to her lips in apology before sparing a glance at her feet. "You don't have blisters, honey."
“You don’t have blisters, honey.”
“How do you know?”
Daya’s eyebrows raised, challenging him.
“I just do.”
“Well, how about you inspect them tonight when you’re massaging them?” She asked in a sweet tone.
Miguel laughed.
“Is that your way of asking for a foot massage?”
Daya nodded.
“Come on, loca. Let’s say our goodbyes, so we can get out of here.”
Locking hands, the couple began the slow process of trading goodbyes and promises for later dates. Another fifteen minutes later, they made it outside into the chilly night air, the California breeze kissing their skin. Daya was more than relieved to see the fleet of black SUVs that waited for them.
Nestor Oceteva stood by the truck in the middle, opening the back door for them. “Thank you, Ness.” Daya told him, accepting his help up into the vehicle.
A driver and Nestor's second-in-command and cousin, Antonio Oceteva, occupied the front seats. Daya greeted them both warmly as she crawled across the leather seats.
"I can't wait to get out of these shoes." She said to no one in particular.
With no answer, she slid across the seat to see what the hold up was. Miguel stood outside of the car, several feet away. In a heated tone, he and Nestor discussed something she couldn't make out.
Antonio turned around in his seat to stop her, hand stopping just before it touched her knee. She eyed his hesitant hand for a moment before she met his eyes. Neither of them spoke for a moment.
Antonio was all business when he gathered himself to speak. "He'll be with you shortly, Mrs. Galindo." She huffed in response.
Daya craned her neck to look out of the window once more, but it didn't do much good. From her vantage point she could see that Nestor wasn’t happy, but not much else.
"What's going on?" She asked Antonio catching his hazel eyes in the rear view mirror. He didn't look worried, and that helped to soothe her some. At the same time, she knew it could just be his military training at work.
"I'm not sure, ma'am." He spoke in an even tone, giving nothing away. She thanked him but continued to look out of the window.
Daya didn’t need to know every single gory detail, but Miguel knew she hated being left in the dark. It created distance between them and made her feel shut out.
She could almost hear her therapist telling her to slow down and think. Logically, she knew Miguel meant no harm, but it reminded her of her childhood, making her feel small and insignificant.
He found her in the backseat with her arms crossed, eyes closed, and heeled feet tapping impatiently against the floor of the car.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, mi amor.” With a simple nod, he signaled for the driver to take them to the hotel.
His warm hand found her belly, holding her there while his tongue slipped past her pouty lips into her mouth.
She responded the way he expected, melting under his touch. Soft hands cupped his face, deepening the kiss. His hands slid down to rest on the curve of her ass as she leaned into him. With each movement, Daya felt less tense. Several moments passed before they broke apart.
“What’s happening?” Daya asked, breathless from the kiss. Her eyes scanned Miguel's face for answers.
“It’s nothing you should worry yourself about.”
Miguel’s hands roamed her body, but she knew it was a distraction.
There’s a saying, “You either tell your wife everything, or nothing.”
Miguel often found himself stuck somewhere in the middle. There had been a time where he told her almost everything. Now, he operated on a need-to-know basis.
“That’s your favorite thing to say these days.” Daya said it with a smile, but her eyes told a different story.
“I didn’t mean it that way, mi alma. I just mean it’s not important enough to bother you with. I’m going to take care of it tonight, and then it’s done.”
“You’re leaving tonight?” She didn’t bother to hide that she was upset anymore.
The couple had spent the last three days in San Diego, occupying the penthouse suite of a downtown hotel. Their home was located in Santo Padre, a small border town on the outskirts of Calexico, two hours away from San Diego. Miguel had several meetings in San Diego during the week--with Tom, one of his lawyers, and the event. It just made more sense to stay in town for the week, rather than make the trek back and forth.
“I know I promised, but...yes. I have to take care of this tonight.”
The young couple had agreed to use the few days as a mini-vacation to recharge and spend quality time together. He had kept his promise so far, but she wasn’t happy their time together would be ending early.
“I understand.” Business came first. Always.
“Don’t be like that.”
“I’m not being like anything. I said it’s fine.” She pushed down the anger she felt bubbling in her chest. “Seriously, I’m not upset. There’s no point. You’re still going to do what you have to. Right?”
He nodded, watching as she checked out of the conversation. She faced the window, staring out of it at the blur of lights.
“Do you want to go home? If that will make you more comfortable, they can take you tonight.”
“No. I’m okay. I don’t want to be on the road in the dark." She told him with a grimace. "I’ll find a way to entertain myself.”
The blur of neon lights transitioned into shades of shadowy grey as they entered the parking garage of the hotel.
“Nestor’s going with me, but Antonio will be here along with…” Daya tuned out as he named the guards that would stay in San Diego with her.
“They’ll take you home in the morning.” She nodded, gathering her bearings as the driver parked.
“Will you be there?”
“I’ll try.” She was disappointed in his answer, but at least he wasn’t getting her hopes up.
Antonio opened her door, and she accepted his warm, calloused hand as she stepped out of the vehicle.
Miguel met her halfway at the back of the truck, opening his arms for a hug. She stepped into them, the smell of his signature cologne washing over her. It relaxed her, and she forced herself to enjoy the moment. She was annoyed at her husband, but she loved him and wanted to appreciate every moment with him.
“Be good.” He whispered in her ear, tone gentle, but serious.
“I can’t make any promises.”
Antonio averted his gaze, turning his back to them. Nestor and the guards followed, choosing instead to focus on different parts of the garage. There were plenty of shadows for a person to hide in, and the couple needed privacy.
Miguel’s arms tightened around her waist, squeezing to let her know he was serious.
“You heard what I said.”
Before she could get a smart response out, she felt his manhood poking against her belly. Miguel wasn’t a tyrant, but he liked to play King of the Jungle sometimes; backing her into corners, and giving her silly ultimatums that he knew she’d rebel against. It was a fun game because it elicited a carnal response in both of them to fight for dominance.
“Be good or else I’m going to have to spank this fat ass.” She gasped as his hands cupped her ass. He squeezed the fat in his hands before jiggling it.
Daya moaned quietly, pinching her plump bottom lip under her teeth.
“You’ve told me what’s behind door number one. Now, what do I get for being a good girl? ‘Cause I have to say door number one doesn’t sound so bad right now.”
He pretended to think, cocking his head to the side. “What’s the saying, ‘happy husband, happy life’?”
Daya pressed a kiss to his chin. “That’s definitely not the saying, but fine. I’ll be good, but you owe me a foot massage for skipping out early.”
“I thought I owed you one because of the heels.”
“Thanks for reminding me.” She would also have to pack his luggage for him. “Three. You’re in the hole for three foot massages, mister. I expect full payment by the end of the month. Got it?” There were plenty of people with better massage skills than her husband, but for some reason, they felt better when they came from him.
“I have no idea how you calculated three, but yes ma’am. I miss you already, conejita.”
Her arms circled his neck, pulling him for a kiss. “I miss you more."
Years of learning each other made it so they were in sync when their lips met, stoking fires in each other that wouldn't be extinguished any time soon.
“I. Love. You.” She told him in between greedy pecks. “Call me when you get a chance, ‘kay?” He nodded, understanding she meant for him to call when he reached the border. She would probably be asleep by the time he made it there, but it made her feel better when he checked in.
“I love you too.”
Tumblr media
Entering the luxurious penthouse suite, the first thing Daya did was free herself from the designer death traps disguised as shoes.
There were plenty of amenities for her to enjoy— a jacuzzi style bathtub, and a spacious balcony with a breathtaking view of the bayfront. She intended to make the most of her time alone.
After assuring Antonio she was in for the night and wouldn't need his services, she stripped down to her birthday suit and ran a bubble bath.
The purple bottle was nearly finished from all the bubble baths she'd taken during the week. Whiffs of the lavender essential oil flowed up through her nose as she eased herself down into the rectangular tub. Powerful jets massaged her aching muscles with hot water, washing the day away.
Her hair sat in a messy bun on top of her head, loose strands clinging to her neck. Sweat beaded on her forehead and her hair puffed up with frizz, but she didn't let it bother her.
Old school R&B played on her phone. She could barely hear it over the sound of the jets, but she crooned right along with the singer enthusiastically.
Eventually, the water was too cool to stand and she was forced to get out. With wrinkled palms, she dried herself off with the fluffy white towel.
Wrapping it around her midsection, she settled into the low chair of the vanity. It took some time, but she carefully removed her makeup and moisturized her skin.
Staring at herself in the mirror without all the bells and whistles was always a little humbling. It felt dramatic, like she was in a cheesy coming of age movie or something, but it was eye-opening. So much of her time was spent pretending for others—dressing her body up, and her personality down.
The exclusive parties and expensive accessories were fun, but they weren't everything. Most people that came across her thought she was superficial, but in reality, she was the opposite. She would never be able to convince them otherwise and that was fine.
The people that knew her understood her, and that was all that mattered. She had a close-knit, but complicated relationship with her friend group. Most of them had known each other for years, so there were layers to their relationships.
Daya, her very best friend, Ariel Castillo, and Ezekiel Reyes made up the core group.
The three of them met freshman year when Daya moved to Santo Padre. Along with the pressures of going to a new school, she had to deal with being the small fry in a group of big fish. Ariel and Ezekiel had been there to make the experience bearable. They connected through honor classes and bonded over their shared desire to go somewhere else, and be someone different.
Miraculously, all of them ended up stuck in Santo Padre.
Ariel received a full-ride scholarship to UCLA. She made it through the first year and a half, completing all her core courses, but then her father got sick. She came home to take care of him, but couldn't bring herself to leave again when he got better. So she settled, forgot her dreams of being a surgeon, and went to nursing school. Ariel was great at her job, the best Santo Padre Medical had to offer, but it hadn't been her dream.
Ezekiel hadn't even made it through his first year of college when his mother was shot and killed in his father's store. Her unexpected death made him spiral, sending him on a witch hunt to find out who was responsible. One thing led to another and he made a fatal mistake that ended him up in prison for eight years.
Daya never left Santo Padre for college. She was good with academics in high school, but always had a passion for art. Her mother didn't have any money to put towards college, and she wasn't particularly excited about spending another four years in school. So, she did what she was good at, designing web pages for business owners around Santo Padre.
It didn't pay great, but it allowed her to make connections. People were impressed with her work and shared it with their friends and partners. With a stroke of good luck, she was able to form the connections and save the money to start her own web development and design company. In thirteen years' time, she expanded the business across California from Santo Padre to Los Angeles, becoming one of the most popular and successful in its industry. Daya had touched more money than she ever thought possible.
She had traveled for a while, creating new stations took time and a lot of energy. In between, she went on trips out of the country, learning about new cultures and customs. It was hard to do with a growing business, but the experiences were worth it.
Eventually, she met Miguel, a kindred spirit who wished to be anywhere but Santo Padre. It was ironic that it was the very place they were both forced to settle. Miguel out of duty, Daya out of love and stability.
People came to Santo Padre from the north, south, east, and west.  From Northern Cali, Arizona, or Mexico. The quaint town was like a vortex, drawing people towards it from all sides. Most were smart enough to pass through, but those that stopped stayed forever.

The moon had long swapped places with the sun as the source of light for the western hemisphere. Underneath its milky rays a new wave of life came out of hibernation. By the instruction of Diana, the wolves mated with their packs and howled toward the moon in worship.
Nights spent beneath a full moon were her favorite. Never fully understanding why, however, they were often the calmest of nights she ever experienced. She’d fall into a slumber with the moonlight dancing upon her body and the sounds of nature acting as a chorus symphony, lulling her into a gentle rest.
She’d be wrapped in the arms of her lover, safe and warm. Her lover. Her eyes cut to the time on the clock above the fireplace, which snapped, crackled, and popped quietly. 2:57.
“He should’ve been home by now…”
She assumed time was on her side when the front door swung open and a sorrowful figure stood in the threshold. Kori craned her head and sat up slowly. She thrust her cup onto the table and rushed over to the foyer.
Her bare feet padded against the cool floor, her skin a great contrast to the gray laminate flooring. Gentle rushes of forced wind blew past her bare shoulders as she darted toward the toward.
“Baby…” Kori reached behind him and closed the door, her fingers fiddling with the lock. Her husband stood before her, quiet and solemn. He stood as still as the statues they’d seen in Greece just months prior—cold and rigid. Lifeless and immovable. “Miguel…”
The way his name poured from her lips caused him to look at her, just slightly. His eyes, pretty brown orbs usually bright and filled with gold, were downturned and dull. His lips were frozen in a frown and his eyebrows were closely knitted to one another.
“I’m okay, princesa.” Lie. Miguel’s voice was gruff and his words were forced. He kept his gaze on the wedding portrait just inches above her head. “Gonna go shower.” His lips pressed against her head gently before he swiped her arm softly and walked toward their bedroom, the heels of his shoes scuffing against the floor.
Kori’s shoulders dropped. “Okay…”
Tumblr media
She waited for him even though his shower was an hour long. She thanked God the water bill wasn’t on her, or she’d fuss at him until steam came out of her ears.
No longer was she dressed in pants and a blouse, her typical work attire, but instead her favorite satin slip Miguel gifted her at random one day. It had a swooped neckline and dainty lace designs along the breast. Her freshly retwisted locs fell at her shoulders gracefully. She twirled one around her finger as she waited anxiously for him to exit the bathroom.
It was only moments later that the door flung open and an array of humidity came out to hug her. Kori’s eyes followed Miguel as he trudged across the room, rubbing his hand across his damp hair. He washed the dirt of the day down the drain but something still stirred within him. The weight of carrying a legacy on his back was slowly but surely crushing him. She didn’t know how much longer he’d be able to take it before he’d collapse.
She watched the foot of his sweatpants drug against the carpet as he stalked to the chair near the window. It was plush and comfortable. Enough to harbor two bodies. They deemed it their thinking chair—they’d sit and watch the sky as their thoughts ran ramped throughout their minds. Kori frowned.
“You wanna talk about it?” she asked. For only the second time since he’d been home, he looked into her eyes. He shrugged. “Can I join you?”
Miguel nodded.
Kori swung her legs over the side of the bed, pulled down her slip, and walked toward her husband. This time, it was his turn to admire her from a distance. The satin, baby blue slip complimented both her frame and her complexion beautifully, and her features here illuminated by the side lamp and the moonlight.
Kori found a place between his legs and tilted her head to the side. “Hi.”
“Hi,” he whispered back. Kori smiled softly and brought her hand to his face, caressing his skin gently. Her fingers ran over his full beard and down his lip, where her thumb grazed gently.
“Today wasn’t a good day?”
Miguel shook his head. He swallowed harshly and closed his eyes. A heavy sigh came from him and immediately Kori was on high alert. “Miguel, please talk to me.”
Miguel’s head fell forward against her plush belly and his arms slid around her middle. Kori instinctively circled her arms around his shoulders, her hands massaging at his neck and shoulders.
“I’m tired, baby…” his voice came out muffled but she made out his words clearly. “It’s too much.”
She knew what he was referring to.
“What do you want to do?” He didn’t have to be like this, some evil monster who seemingly only cared for himself. He didn’t have to carry a legacy, not if it was detrimental to himself and others.
He shrugged again.
“Don’t have to figure it out tonight,” Kori said. “let’s get some rest and pick up on it tomorrow, yeah?” She pulled away just slightly to look into his eyes.
“Okay.”
She nodded and leant down to kiss him gently. “I love you, Miguel. We’ll get through whatever it is together.”
“I love you, too.”

Stingy
Pairing: Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes x Black!OC
Summary: EZ has a problem sharing and his girl, Monique is quite over it.
Warning(s): Some angst with a fluff ending
Word count: 2,552
AN: Ahhhh my first EZ fic. Based on a request I received from the lovely @ly--canthrope with an assist coming from Ginuwine’s Stingy. Thank YOU so much for your patience and encouraging words. I hope you enjoy this xo
Tumblr media
You can say I'm tripping but I'm stingy And I can't hide it Wanna keep you all to me I'm selfish, why try to fight it?
An abandoned episode of Girlfriends played on the tv in the background as a woman sat straddling EZ’s lap as the two made out. His hands were rubbing up and down her sides under her shirt and her hands were gripping his face. One of her favorite things to do was kiss her boyfriend. She loved that they could just get lost in each other and it was the perfect opener for the mindblowing sex that was coming.
The familiar ringtone and buzz from her phone’s vibration echoed against the coffee table as she received a text message. She pulled away from the kiss and turned her head, trying to see if she could read the message from her position. She felt EZ stiffen, his hands moving down her hips to grip her thigh.
“I swear to God, Monique.” EZ began, feeling himself become annoyed. He can’t even enjoy her company at home without being interrupted. He’s tried so hard to be understanding, but that selfish part of him was fed up. The opening of Galindo’s company really put into perspective how often he misses time with her.
As Miguel’s assistant she had a very big hand in putting the opening celebration together. She’d been Miguel’s assistant for a couple years now. Her mother was a close confidante to Dita before she passed away. Dita wanted to keep an eye on her so she asked Miguel to give her a job. She was fantastic at keeping things organized and she already knew about the other side of business.
Working for Miguel was great because though some would hate being an assistant, he actually gave her a lot of responsibility. She was often put in charge of events while making sure everything in his life runs smoothly, at least on the legal side of things. She was so proud of her work tonight but she hardly had time to celebrate until she saw her man walking through the door.
She’d been with EZ, Ezekiel as she liked to call him because she loved his full name, for a little over a year. It was the best relationship she’d ever been in. He was kind, honest, caring, and oh so very fine.
She ended her current conversation before strutting over to Ezekiel, her arms immediately going around his neck. “Hi baby. I’m so happy you’re here.” She kissed his lips.
EZ loved seeing his girl in her element. She was very much out of his league in his mind and he felt lucky every day he woke up to her. “Hey beautiful.” He greeted her, hands resting on her lower back and pulling her close to him. “I see all your hard work has paid off.”
“It really has. Things couldn’t be going better. Especially now that you’re here.” She grinned at him.
“Oh yeah? You’re happy to see me?” He teased, smiling back so she kissed him again.
The two of them engaged in some conversation and heavy flirting before they were interrupted by her boss.
“Monique, I need you for a second…” Miguel announced, no time for pleasantries. He was always about his business. She could respect it but it was also annoying because he could have greeted Ezekiel
“Oh hi Miguel. We weren’t having a conversation or anything.” She sarcastically replied, giving her boss a look.
“Reyes..” Miguel acknowledged her boyfriend with a barely noticeable head nod before bringing his attention back to her. “You’ve put in the most face time with the Castillos and the lovely matriarch has requested your presence. We don’t want to keep them waiting, verdant?”
EZ rolled his eyes at Miguel but didn’t say anything. He was used to Miguel’s shit and honestly he didn’t like him either so the less they communicated the better.
The Castillos were a very important family that have entered into an arrangement with Galindo enterprises both on the legitimate and illegitimate side of business. It was already fragile so she wanted to keep everything on the up and up.
She retreated from EZ’s arms without a second thought. “Is everything alright? When we went over the final documents she didn’t bring anything up.” She began walking alongside Miguel but stopped in her tracks.
“I’ll be right back.” She walked back over to EZ and planted a distracted kiss on his cheek.
He mustered up a slight smile and then she was gone.
She didn’t come back until the end of the night.
She sighed, pushing her way out of his lap and snatching up her phone once she stood up. “He’s my boss, Ezekiel. You have got to let this thing with Miguel go. Enough is enough.”
“He just does this to piss me off.” And it worked. He wanted to have her all to himself, but he couldn’t do that with Galindo constantly texting her and having her work long hours. At this point it felt she was the one singlehandedly keeping his businesses afloat.
“So stop letting it piss you off.” She replied, like it was the easiest thing and to her it was.
He shot up from his seat and exasperatedly asked, “Why do you always defend him?”
“Because you’re being ridiculous. You knew who I worked for when we started dating.” She was annoyed they were even having this argument. Her attention was focused on her phone as she replied to Miguel with the information he needed.
EZ grew even more irritated that even in an argument he couldn’t have her whole attention. “What could he possibly need from you at 2 in the morning? Hm?” He snatched the phone from her hand.
“Are you out of your mind? Give me my phone back!” She gasped, shocked at his audacity. She and Ezekiel had been together for awhile now and he’s never acted this way. He’s never lost his temper with her. “Things happen. Emergencies. I never say anything when you have an emergency with the MC.”
“Bishop doesn’t text all hours of the night. Bishop doesn’t hate you and try to disrespect our relationship at every turn. And quite frankly, Bishop isn’t a woman so it’s not the same at all.” Ez snapped, his voice getting louder.
“And just what the fuck are you implying, EZ?” There was a clear warning in her tone of voice as she matched his volume. Now they both were yelling at each other. She never called him EZ either. Always preferring to call him Ezekiel.
He knew he should have backed down and cooled off but he was beyond tired of this shit. The angry words slipped outta his mouth before he could stop them. “I’m just wondering what all the late nights are really about. If I’m dating Miguel’s side piece just tell me!”
That was a mistake. Yelling was a mistake. Saying those words was a mistake. He knew it the moment he saw tears form in her eyes.
“Excuse me?” She whispered, voice slightly cracking. How dare he call her a cheater! He officially has lost his mind.
Ezekiel felt his heart drop into his stomach when he heard the hurt in her voice. It went too far. “I didn’t mean it. I’m sorry, mariposa.” He started to walk closer to her, but she stepped back from him.
“This has nothing to do with me. Or us. This is you and Miguel continuing to have a dick measuring contest. Th-this all goes back to Emily.” The name rolled off her tongue with mild resentment. The two never had a bad run in with each other, but all the stories about Emily and EZ’s past relationship and how she was the love of his life always made Monique get defensive.
“That’s not true.” EZ refuted, but she interrupted him before he could further explain.
“Yes it is!  And if somehow it’s not then we got some serious problems baby.” She just shook her head at him before demanding, “Get out.”
You're the only one, you're the only love That's strong enough to claim me So please forgive me I'm just stingy But how can you blame me?
It’s been two weeks since the fight with Ezekiel and Monique was really missing him. She was mad that he would be such a dumbass, but she still just wanted to be laying back on the couch with him watching tv.
Miguel watched as she pushed her salad around her plate, clearly not hungry. “Todo bien hermanita?” He asked, watching as she finally brought her eyes up to meet his. This was the quietest lunch the two ever had. Usually she was talking a mile a minute.
She smiled a little at the nickname. He only called her that when he was concerned or when he really wanted something. Truth is, the two had a sibling kind of relationship. She just wished EZ had seen and understood it. “I’m fine. Not really hungry.”
“Hmm.” He hummed, taking a sip of his drink. “Nestor and I had a meeting with the Mayans yesterday. Saw your novio and he looked like shit.” Miguel casually mentions and she tries to act nonchalant even as her heart races at the mention of a certain biker. “Imagine my surprise when he asked to pull me aside for a chat.”
“What!” She gasped loudly, jaw dropping.
“I’m sure you could guess what we spoke about.”
“Miguel…” She was ready to apologize to him for whatever accusations were thrown his way.
“I know I’m very demanding. It’s part of who I am. I demand a lot from myself and from those around me, especially those closest to me. That includes you, hermanita. But I don’t want to be the reason for your unhappiness. Even if it is with Reyes..” There was only mild disgust in his tone and she took that as an improvement.
“It’s not your fault he doesn’t trust me, hermano.” She sighed.
“He is crazy about you, you know that right?”
Monique went to answer, but Miguel stood up from his seat. He grabbed his suit jacket from the back of the chair and walked over to her, pushing down gently on her shoulders to keep her from getting up. He leans down and whispers “If in the end, you don’t want him and he won’t take the hint you let me know. He can visit my pew.”
She jerked her head back to give him a stern look, hating when he brought up that damn pew. He just kissed her head and walked away. She sat there dumbfounded for a second. “Wait, what-” She turned her head to call out to Miguel but her voice caught in her throat as she spotted Ezekiel right behind her. He walked over and took the seat Miguel was just in.
It was silent before she decided to break it. “You and Miguel working together? Hell must have frozen over.”
He cracks a grin at that. “Ha. Guess you could say we’ve called a truce. At least when it comes to a certain beautiful woman.”
“Calling a truce with my ‘side piece’? I’m sure Emily appreciates it.” She sarcastically replied, making him sigh in reply.
“I never should have said that. I was pissed off and being a sarcastic asshole. This never had anything to do with Emily. Yes we have history, but I don’t think about that anymore. I haven’t for a long time.” Monique looked down, wanting to believe him but having a hard time doing it. “I think about you. I think about you when we’re apart, I think about when I’ll see you again, I think about our future when you’re in my arms. You’re never not on my mind.”
His words make her want to smile, but she wasn’t done. “Then what’s been going on with us lately? Anytime I answer a call or text from Miguel you’re huffing and puffing. You sit there literally pouting like a 3 year old every time I have to do something for work. What’s the problem?”
“First, I don’t pout.” She started to disagree but he loudly continued, earning a playful glare from her. “SECONDLY, I know you’re an independent woman out here making it on your own and shit. I know it’s just been you and your job for a long time. But now you got me, mariposa. I’m here by your side and I like spending time with you. I like the quiet moments at home and our nights out. I want more of them. You work so much and you forget about everything else. Me included.”
“What do you mean I forget you? I don’t forget you.”
“Galindo Enterprises.”
“What are...Oh-” Her face completely dropped as she remembered the night. She got pulled away by Miguel and never went back to Ezekiel. She didn’t mean to, but she ended up checking on other things with the party and even though it hurts to admit she did forget about him. “Oh baby…” She held one of his hands that was on the table between both of hers.
“I’ve never been the one to cling and I don’t like to be needy but you’ve changed me. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I love being in your presence. Maybe I am kind of a baby, but I think wanting your attention is a good sign for a relationship. I’m not asking you to quit your job, but some boundaries would be nice. ”
She felt so bad. He was absolutely right. She had been alone for a long time. She wasn’t used to sharing her life with someone else. An adjustment was obviously needed. “I never meant to make you feel like I wanted anyone or anything more than you. Or that I cared about those things more. I promise that I will work on communicating more with you and not just doing what I want with no consideration for you.”
He nodded his head, but she had to add one more thing. “You do need to know that sometimes just like you can’t help getting called away the same goes for me. But I’ll talk with Miguel and we’ll work out something that works for us all. I can’t believe I didn’t realize. I’m so-”
Ezekiel cut her off before she could begin criticizing herself. “So amazing, captivating, elevating,” after every word, EZ placed a kiss on the palm of her hand. “Anyway you put it I’m happy to be your man.”
“I’m still salty at you insinuating I was sleeping with Miguel.” She declared, causing him to nod with a sad look on his face.
“How can I make it up to you, mariposa?”
“Hmm…” She pretended to think when she already knew what she wanted. She leaned forward and beckoned him closer with a wiggle of her finger. She whispered in his ear, “I wanna ride you with only your kutte on until you lose your mind.” She lightly bit his ear lobe.
She busted out laughing at how fast he scrambled out of his seat and took her hand, pulling her behind him as he hustled out of the restaurant.

word count:
AN: DO NOT WORRY! I AM CURRENTLY WRITING A FIC WITH FLUFF WITH ANGEL THEN EZ😂
____________________________________________🖊
"I just don't understand why I have to go back there." Sierra huffed, not wanting to move since she was very much pregnant as hell. She didn't want to leave the comfort of her couch but Miguel was more at ease knowing she was with him at all times with her being so close to her due date. He didn't want anything to happen to her, but he understood where his wife was coming from when she said that she didn't want to go back to the clubhouse after what happened to her 4 years ago. The only two people she's kept up with was Letty and Chucky. They've visited her a few times, they came to the wedding, the baby shower, almost everything. They were the only two people she trusted when it came to the Mayans.
"Mi reina, I completely understand why you don't want to go back, but I can assure you that nothing will happen to you because while I conduct business with Bishop, Nestor will be by your side just as he has been all these years. You have nothing to worry about, just trust me." He reassured her. She sighed and nodded her head as he gave her a triumphant smile. "Besides, it'd be nice to see you be petty every once in a while."
"I'm not liable for anything that happens while you're in the Templo. You know how my mouth gets when I get riled up" She grumbled, slowly sitting up from the couch to slip on her slides. Miguel gave her a kiss on the cheek, and let her have her alone time until it was time to work again.  He absolutely knew how much of a hard ass she can get when she gets mad, he's been on the other side of that on several occasions.
Sierra was 100% sure that Miguel was bringing her out of spite because he liked to brag and that's just the type of man he was. He took pride in the fact that he finally found love after Emily since he found out Cristobal wasn't his. He was heartbroken, yeah, but Sierra was there for him when nobody else was, and she was there for him when she told him about the deal that EZ had made with the feds. Of course, she felt like a bad friend, but there was so much betrayal being thrown around inside the Mayans, she didn't care anymore. Now here she is, 4 years later, married and pregnant by the one man that Angel and EZ had hated more than anything.
She had came to peace with herself and what happened to her a long ass time ago. She didn't want to harbour any hate for a man that didn't even deserve her time of the day. She stopped posting on social media because for some reason it had always encouraged him to call her, even while she was engaged to Miguel. She had also known, that Miguel was a completely different breed when it came to loyalty, it was like taking care of her needs was always his first priority and she used to feel so overwhelmed with how much love she had been receiving, but she had gotten used to it.
"It's time to go mi corazon," Miguel announced, walking back into the living room with Nestor behind him. She gave the two men a confused look as she watched Miguel carry a bag. He gave her a smile and handed it to her. She smiled as she looked inside the bag to see that it was filled with all her favourite snacks and drinks since he knew she liked to eat throughout the day. Not wanting to waste any time, she pulled out a bag of hot cheetos and ripped the bag open before popping a handful in her mouth.
Miguel grabbed her free hand and lead her to the car where the driver was waiting. He opened the door for her, placing a hand on her back as she got in. After she got comfortable, he closed the door and walked to the other side before settling himself beside her. Out of instinct, Sierra crossed her legs over her husbands, and scooted closer to him. He smiled and began to rub her thighs as the car started to move, Nestor sitting in the front. Miguel rolled up the partition from his side of the car, and began rubbing her thighs higher and higher, making her look at him suspiciously.
"The same shit your doing now is the reason why I'm pregnant." She grumbled, trying to push his hand away from he only grabbed it and laced it with his other hand as he slowly pulled her panties off with one hand and began to rub her clit slowly in small circles. She sighed and leaned her head back as she tried not to make too much noise because the car definitely wasn't sound proof.
"You know I can never get enough of you querida, no matter how pregnant you are." He mumbled, leaning over to place small kisses on her neck and chest. Sierra sighed in content and leaned back on the seat with her sundress hiked up to her belly, making Miguel smile. Maybe a small quickie wouldn't hurt.
"Miguel just hurry up because you got me horny knowing how sensitive my hormones are." She complained, trying to unbuckle his slack but he slapped her hand away, and held her legs up by the back of her knees.
"Relax honey, it'll be a while before we get there anyway." He stated before eating his wife out like it was her last meal, not giving her a chance to respond properly since she was too busy trying not to moan as she ran her hands through his hair.
Miguel moaned as he felt her drip onto his tongue before pushing her dress up past her. breast so he could have something soft to hold onto. Lately, he had been having sex with her and eating her out more than usual. She tasted sweeter and her pushy was always extremely wet during sex. He let go of her trembling legs, and snuggly placed them on his shoulder so that she would be more comfortable.
He circled his lips around her clit before sucking harshly, receiving a loud moan from her. "Holy fuck! Shit..."
Sierra looked down to her husband over her belly to see him already staring at her with wide eyes as he used both hands to spread her pushy lips as he stiffened his tongue and proceeded tongue fuck her deeper, making her thud down onto the seat and let out another sob as she felt herself coming closer and closer to cumming.
Her mouth fell into a silent scream as she felt her orgasm crash down upon her. Miguel did his best to keep her still as he watched her essence spurt out of her, watching as her legs continued to shake from the huge orgasm. Miguel glanced outside of the moving car for a split second before rushing to pull his slacks down.
"We'll be there in 5, so lets make this quick mi reina," He mumbled, kissing his wife on the lips before leaning back up to thrust into her. Sierra gasped and grabbed her husbands hand as he quickly plowed into her as he tried to get her to finish as she chased his own climax. Miguel tried his best not to moan loud because he knew Nestor would give him shit so he stuck with deep breaths and small grunts. Sierra bit onto her lip as she watched her husband thrust harshly into her.
"You gonna let them know who you belong to amor?" Miguel asked, moving his hand to rub his wife's clit as she came around him. She sporadically and rapidly nodded her head as she tried to push him away but he grabbed both her hands and placed them above her her as he continued his consistent thrusting, now getting to his orgasm as he gave her one more thrust, spilling himself inside her. (I promise I write better smut than this lol.)
"Miguel, we're here." Nestor called from the front. Miguel could hear the sound of the front seat opening before he and Sierra put their clothes on. She straightened herself out, fixing her hair while Miguel pulled up his slacks and buckled his pants back.
It had just dawned on her about what she was about to walk into. Sierra sighed, not wanting to see anyone's face again, not after what happened but she knew she really had no choice seeing as she willingly got into the car with her husband.
Miguel noticed her distress, and comforted his wife, "Hey, if you don't want to come in it's your decision."
Sierra smiled at him and shook her head, "No, I want to. Let's go."
The couple made it out of the car, checking their surrounds before a loud voice caught her attention. Miguel whispered to Nestor about keeping a watch on her, the man nodding his head.
"SIERRA! GIRL HEY!" Letty ran up to the pregnant woman and engulfed her in a huge hug, being mindful of her belly. Miguel smiled at the interaction and stated that he was going inside for his meeting with Bishop, to which Sierra smiled and nodded her head before kissing his lips as a temporary goodbye.
"You're glowing! Miguel really got you out here living your best life." She complimented, looking at her friend. Sierra laughed and rubbed her belly out of instinct.
"Girl, he is but don't tell him I said that shit. His ego already big as hell." She joked, earning a laugh from the younger girl in front of her.
"You wanna head inside?" Letty asked after a small moment of silence. Sierra hesitantly smiled and nodded her head. Letty noticed the hesitance.
"If it makes you feel any better, Angel's been a shit show ever since you left. Adelita was pregnant and he thought it was his but turns out it wasn't. So karma's a bitch I guess." Letty explained as the two of them walked to the doors of the clubhouse. Sierra gave a small hum at the new information. She had always told Angel that Adelita was suspect but he clearly was too deep in her pussy to see that until it was too late.
"I'm married to a good ass man and we got a kid on the way, I could really care less." She stated, walking past Letty to get inside with Nestor following closely behind since she was burning up. It was like a record scratch from those dramatically funny ass movies and suddenly all eyes were on her while some where on her belly.
Of course they were doing the same banter just like the time Angel got caught only his little Adelita wasn't here. Such a shame. She turned to Nestor with a smile on her face.
"Could you get me something to drink?" She asked quietly. Nestor gave her a friendly smile and walked to the bar to ask for some water, returning it back to Sierra as she thanked him and took a big gulp from him. She tried her hardest to ignore the stares but it was getting irritating at this point.
"Are yall gone keep staring or is somebody gone speak?" She asked loudly, scanning the room, and of course the first one to walk up was Angel. Looking past him, Sierra locked eyes with a girl with shoulder length hair, making her squint her eyes at her before the girl broke contact with her and turned around.
"Who knocked you up?" He asked, pointing to her belly before glancing at Nestor who was standing behind him. She smiled at him.
"Not your hoe ass, that's for sure." She replied, pretending to pick at her nails as if she were bored with the conversation already.
"Mi reina seriously, did you let Miguel knock you up?" Angel asked, hoping to hear a no, but from the smile on her face he knew it was the opposite. Sad to say, he had thought about coming to see  her all the way up until this point, but she clearly was busy with someone else.
"I'll tell you this. I married the same man who got his heart broken by the bitch your brother constantly fucked. Crazy how their baby wasn't his but EZ's isn't it?  Kinda pathetic if you ask me, taking Miguel's sloppy seconds...so weird." She spoke, every ounce of venom on her voice. She had time to be petty today.
"Did you come here to insult us? If you did you can fucking lea--"
"How's Adelita? Y'know with you cheating on me with her and all one would've thought that you guys would be a big happy family with her being pregnant. Oh wait, they poor baby isn't even yours. So not only did you cheat, you allowed a hoe to run game on you. Crazy." She chuckled, shaking her head at him. Angel knew he should say something, but how could he when everything she's saying is true. As far as Nestor, the only thing he could really do was try not to laugh, since he was told not to start anything unless he felt like someone was physically trying to attack his boss's wife and unborn child.
"Seriously Sierra, we get that we fucked you over but chill out." Gilly spoke from the other side of the room. Sierra looked at him and sighed.
"Gilly, if you knew how much dirt I had on you and every person in this room you would shut the fuck up and keep stuffing your fat ass face." Sierra ranted. Where the fuck is Miguel?
"Uhm excuse me but who are you? Angel why are you letting her walk all over you?" One of Vickey's girls asked, standing up to get beside Angel.
"You do know I can put a price on your head and get you knocked off right? Matter fact lemme just..." She trailed off, pulling out her phone to text Miguel but Nestor grabbed the phone from her hand before she could. One phone call and the entire building will be burned to the damn ground with everyone in it.
"He just saved your life. Next time you wanna try somebody, try a bitch that ain't me." She hissed, standing up just in time to see her husband walking out of the templo with Bishop, who could clearly feel the tension in the room. Miguel smiled and walked over to his wife as she welcomed him with a hug.
"She wasn't too much trouble was she?" Miguel asked Nestor, who handed her back her phone.
"Other than the fact that she just tried to get one of Vickey's girls dead, no, she's been an angel as always." Nestor laughed, stepping back from the two of them.
"Why the fuck did you marry her into this shit? You're too dangerous for her." Angel fussed, scowling at Miguel who turned around with an amused look on his face.
"Angel seriously shut the fuck up. You just don't like the fact that I'm married to the one man everybody in this bitch is afraid of because if he's too dangerous for me then you were as well and yet I STAYED with you and you see where that got me. It took you five years to propose to me while it took him one and a half, and we got married 6 moths later. Like my momma always said, a man knows when he ready to settle down, and you weren't ready and that's okay, but don't try to talk about what the fuck I got going on when you clearly got homegirl in the back over there scared to even say shit with her weak ass but I'm not surprised, you always had to fuck weak bitches because you could never handle a real ass bitch like me. Have a nice life dickface." She ranted, grabbing her husband's hand who was shocked at the confrontation. Any other time Miguel would be the first to speak on something like that but hearing his wife do it for him just made his heart swell with pride.
"You handled that better than I would have baby, I'm proud of you." He told her as the two of them got into the car. Sierra smiled and leaned into her husbands side as he pulled her closer and kissed her head.
"Okay now take me home and give me bath." She demanded, causing the other man to throw his head back in laughter.

"You've been giving me bedroom eyes for the past hour- time to show me what, exactly, was on your mind." Miguel's fingers slinked across the soft, silk material covering Isla's curvy frame. He squeezed the indent of her waist and then those shapely hips he loved so much, wishing he could grope the cuff of her ass. Instead, he settled for hoisting her into his chest with a low growl.
Miguel had wanted to go straight upstairs when they arrived home from the banquet, but Isla insisted on sharing a nightcap first. The couple slinked through the sliding patio doors with expensive shot glasses full of their favorite amber liquid; liquid that now warmed their chests and bellies, glasses that now sat on the table across from them forgotten.
"Have I?" She moaned as he leaned into her. Isla's palms rested against his suit-clad chest, just barely keeping the beast at bay. Honestly, it was a wonder he'd lasted so long before pouncing. "Sure you didn't just imagine it? You know they say when you want something bad enough, you'll convince yourself it's there even when it's not."
"Really?" He teased, nuzzling his nose against hers. She nodded, reaching under his arms to pull him closer. "Am I imagining this too?" He looked between them, wolfish grin gracing his face, and then those fingers she loved so much went from caressing to tickling.
"Miguel-" She warned. The giggles didn't do much to convey her seriousness, but he was interested in doing more than tickling anyway. Her breasts jiggled in the low-cut dress when she laughed, demanding his attention the same way they had all night.
"Let's get you out of this." He said seriously, tugging at the thin silk ties laced over her shoulders.
Isla grabbed his hands and held them in her own. Men disappeared, dissolved away in a barrel of acid as if they had never existed when Miguel said so, so playing hard to gave her a thrill. "Don't be so presumptuous, dear. Who said I was putting out tonight?" Those big, brown doe eyes portrayed perfect innocence, but he knew better.
Miguel scoffed as she brushed a stray curl away from his slightly sweaty forehead. Determination set in his brow. "There's nothing presumptuous about it. You're mine." He squeezed her hands before letting go. "To touch, to love, to fuck." He pushed until her back rested against the soft cushion. He lifted the skirt of the long gown, savoring every inch of skin as it rose, and with her help hitched a leg around his waist.
Pressed center to center, she was no longer interested in tipping the scales. Miguel could see the fight leave in the way her shoulders went limp as he slid between her legs. But she put on a tough face, always did, even with him. "For some reason, I don't remember those vows." She whispered into the night air, sarcasm falling short.
Miguel's eyes never left her lips. He loved her- for all her complexities, the way they complemented his own. "I remember well enough for the both of us." And he did; remembered the way her stubborn curls fought their way out of her elegant up-do, framing her face in pretty spirals. The way the ivory dress clung to her frame and accentuated her assets, not unlike the blue number she was wearing now. It made his heart squeeze just thinking about it.
Isla could see something playing out behind his eyes, felt the tenderness in her core. Emotion bubbled in her chest, and she had to laugh to shake it. "And do you remember that you're mine? Miss You're-So-Smart-And-Insightful was all over you, laughing at your jokes, touching you here, and you just let her..." She stroked his broad chest and shoulders, pouting. "I love you, honey, but you're not that funny."
Miguel shrugged, barely containing a smirk. "Emily seemed to think so."
"Yeah, well, Emily wants to get in your pants. Been there, done that." Would like to do it again. Like, now.
Miguel snorted, no longer able to contain his laughter. It was always fun to rile his wife up, see her get jealous when she should know better. "So it was Emily you were watching tonight then?" He teased.
"No." Isla scowled. "I was keeping a close eye on what's mine." The possessive lilt in her voice made his groin ache.
"Don't want anyone else getting a hold of this, huh?" Miguel guided her hand to caress his clothed erection.
She bit her lip, looking him in the eyes. "No." She spoke firmly, sure.
"You should probably start laughing at my jokes then-" She slapped his chest, kissing her teeth. "That was a joke, dear." Miguel grinned, smooching her cheek sweetly. She grabbed his face and whispered seriously. "It better be." Then her tongue dipped inside his mouth for a taste.
Miguel welcomed the contact, tasting remnants of the smooth brown liquor from earlier. He was drunk on it and her. Kissing the corner of her mouth, he broke away to tell her what had been on his mind all night. "Looking like this…sin all wrapped up in a pretty blue dress just for me, you don't have to worry about Emily or anybody else. This color on you…should be illegal." He dropped a kiss to her collarbone. "I almost don't want to take it off." He admitted, even as he tugged the material down so that her chest was bare, dress pooling around her midsection.
Her skin pebbled in the cool night air, erect nipples begging for attention. "But nothing could be better than this. You. Just you." Wet heat trickled between her legs as his fingers circled her dark areolas, but he didn't even have to touch her. His tone was always so seductive, sweet whispered nothings luring her into all his traps. Even now, Miguel seemed almost devil-like in the best way, beautifully dark eyes intensely tracking her movement as if he wanted to devour her.
"You too." She whimpered when his hot mouth found her breasts. Instinctively, she arched into his mouth, silently pleading. Don't stop. More, please. The words went without saying. Miguel knew her body like no one ever had before- what every little gasp, moan, look meant.
Fortunately for her, he wasn't in the mood for any extensive teasing. He toyed with the sides of her lace undies for a moment before slowly working them down with the help of her shimmying hips. He stopped when he got them down to her ankles. "I want them on." His teeth glinted in the moonlight as he offered the vague explanation.
A chill ran down her spine as his belt clinked. The panties restricted her movement, kept her trapped underneath Miguel, which had probably been his plan all along. She welcomed it, parting her legs as best she could while he probed her opening with the tip of his penis. He slowly worked the length between her folds, groaning under his breath as she wet him up. Neither his fingers nor tongue were necessary because Isla had been ready for him all night despite her earlier words.
A smart ass until the end, Miguel groaned as he slid home. "Aw, baby. You're so wet." She whimpered underneath him, no doubt creating wrinkles in his suit jacket with how hard she clutched the fabric between her fingers.
Miguel held her neck firmly in his grasp. "You expect me to believe you weren't thinking of me all night? About what I would do to you when I got you alone? When you're this wet?" Only Miguel could make a simple question sound so accusatory, like she had committed a travesty by downplaying her attraction to him. In another life, he could have been a lawyer.
"You're insufferable." She panted, shifting her hips to accommodate his length as he worked himself deeper. On top, Miguel used her hips as leverage to hold her down, groaning with each stroke into her tight heat. With the way she gripped him, he knew neither of them would last long, but he chanced a glance at where they were joined anyway. Seeing them together in that way was his favorite; it was physical proof outside of the sensation that they were one. So was the essence she coated him with, only him.
She was far too gone to care, but somewhere deep inside Isla hoped that none of the guards could hear the sound of their skin slapping together in the quiet of the night. It was probably wishful thinking.
Meanwhile, Miguel's eyes shut tight while concentrated on not coming too soon. The sounds, sensations, and sights were causing a sensory overload. She's first, always first. He repeated over and over in his head.
But then she started mewling his name, pulling at his neck and shoulders and fucking back against him all wild. She rocked into him- once, twice, again and again- sensitive clit rubbing deliciously against his pelvis. "Oh. Oh. Oh." She cried repeatedly before coming with a strangled sob, failing to keep quiet as she covered him in slick.
Miguel cursed, opening his eyes to see the blissed-out look on her face. It was still too much. He wanted to bury himself inside of her even further. He forced himself to look away and caught a glimpse of them in the glass sliding door. The lights were off in the house, so he could make out their shape pretty well. Suddenly, he wasn't ready to finish just yet.
"Turn over." It took a minute for the words to register, and another for her to get her bearings. Miguel helped her up, yanking her panties down and then throwing them off into the abyss, hissing as the night chill touched his wet erection. He pushed at the middle of her back until she was positioned how he wanted, sighing when he was inside her again, dark eyes glued to their reflection.
From his vantage point, he could see everything. The way her breasts swayed forward with each thrust, the way her face scrunched up when he went too deep. It made him pound into her harder, groaning all while she struggled to stay upright. Her thighs and ass caught the brunt of the abuse, jiggling back against him. It was erotic and mesmerizing. He needed her to see. "Look." He grunted, voice shaky in a way it rarely got.
His ego was feed by the fact he rendered it almost impossible for her to do something as simple and mundane as lifting her head while he's inside her, but she had to see the picture the two of them make. It's perfect.
"Look at what I'm doing to you." He said firmly, forcing her chin up. Isla obliged with a lazy sigh, eyes blinking slowly as she took it in. There was something so filthy about her being less than half-dressed while he was still clothed, pants and underwear pulled down just enough for him to get inside her. His greedy hands groped whatever they could, holding her up by the skin between her stomach and pelvis before moving up to clutch her breasts tightly.
She could see the hunger, the desperation for release in his eyes. "You're nasty." She managed to gasp out loud.
"You make me this way." He panted. "And you like it."
"I love it." She moaned, reaching between her legs to rub her clit.
"Because you're nasty." He told her. She nodded her agreeance. He shook his head. "Tell me."
His hips stuttered, toned arms coming down to cage her in as his clothed front resting against her back. Without further instruction, she whispered the words she knew he wanted to hear. And then she reached back further, using her slick to massage his balls until he came with a loud groan behind her, slamming into her with each spurt of his dick.
"God-" He groaned tiredly, settling on top of her heavily.
"-Don't bring him into this." She teased, though she was low on energy herself. Isla grabbed his neck and pulled his sweaty face close to hers. Miguel nuzzled her like he knew she wanted.
She couldn't help but giggle when the cloud of lust faded and reality set in. They had a bedroom- actually, six bedrooms and about ten other rooms with miscellaneous purposes that they could have had sex in. Instead, they'd fucked on the patio furniture that would definitely have to be replaced with the look of the wet patch they left behind. It was honestly ridiculous.
"How am I supposed to make it to the bed after that?" She asked lowly. Miguel didn't respond and she didn't expect him to. He always needed a minute after sex to get his bearings. It was fine, she talked enough for the both of them. While she did, he stroked the skin of her stomach lazily, staring up at the roof of the covered lanai. He didn't seem concerned with making it to the bed- fuck it, she thought, snuggling into his side and rambling on some more.
Her dark eyes blinked lazily into his own. Too often, she found herself deciding to not care about things when they were together. Miguel had a special way of making himself the center of the universe.
"Oh, god." She suddenly realized, sitting upright. "We have to find my panties. I'll die of embarrassment if Maria comes across another pair somewhere it shouldn't be." Miguel watched her bounce around as she searched. She frowned at his lack of concern. "Get up and help me!"

el secretario
Tumblr media
angel reyes x black!oc
Reruns of Martin kept her occupied as she waited for the return of her husband. Perched upon the couch and suffocated with a multitude of blankets, Cari nursed a small bowl of chocolate ice cream as she giggled at the shenanigans of the characters on screen.
She dug a hole into her ice cream and scooped out a mountain of the delicious treat, pushing it between her lips. She hummed in delight, grateful that her husband listened to her when she whined about wanting ice cream for breakfast.
The sound of the lock turning caught her attention. Cari’s head turned towards the door, a smile gracing her lips. She pushed the blankets off her body and placed her glass bowl on the coffee table. Excitedly, she skipped towards the front door.
“So,” she dragged on as soon as her husband entered the house. He locked the door behind him and turned towards her. The stoic expression on his face had her thinking something went wrong, but when the forced frown was replaced by a grin, she knew everything turned out exactly how he wanted it to.
“El secretario, baby!” he bragged as she pulled the patch out of his pocket. Cari let out a laugh as she was pulled into his arms. She pressed multiple kisses upon his face, forcing chuckles from him.
“Congratulations!” Cari pulled the patch from his hands and examined it with pride. She was more than proud of her husband, who strived everyday to show everyone he was worthy of being positioned higher within the club. “I’m so proud of you.”
“Gracias,” he replied, kissing her gently. Cari breathed out a soft moan. He’d been kissing her for almost ten years, yet he took her breath away every time, just like the first time. “Wanna put it on?”
Cari eagerly nodded and slipped out of his grasp to find the blue tin bucket filled with all of her sewing supplies. It was perched on top of the shelves in the laundry room. While humming a small tune, she returned, where she found Angel sitting at the dining room table, his phone in hand as he played yet another game of Candy Crush.
“You’re addicted,” Cari snickered as she watched Angel utter curses when he ran out of moves to complete the level. “I know! This level is kicking my ass.” Cari rolled her eyes playfully and pulled out a needle and thread.
She reached behind her to pull up a chair, but Angel grabbed her waist and pulled her on his lap. Cari raised an eyebrow. “You need me this close to put on a patch?” Angel hummed and nodded his head, leaning back in the chair.
He watched as she tied her falling hair into a makeshift ponytail on top of her head. She pushed her glasses further upon the bridge of her nose. She was concentrated as she placed the new patch over the old one, stitching it slowly.
Through tired eyes, Angel couldn’t help but admire the beauty of his wife. Ten years and he still couldn’t get over her beauty. Bare faced, natural, and in her comfortable element, she looked gorgeous. She’d wiped away her makeup for the evening, and a glow illuminate her face. He cocked his head to the side as he examined her further.
She’d just done her eyebrows, he’d noticed. They were slightly red, presumably from the razor. Her forehead had cleared from the breakouts she complained about just a few days prior, leaving only faint scars in their wake. Her lips were moisturized and he couldn’t wait to capture them with his own.
Cari sighed as she twisted her lips. She readjusted the position of the patch on his kutte. She moved a bit further upon his lap, causing Angel to tense. “Did I poke you?” Angel shook his head and rubbed his hands over her bare thighs, his cool hands on her warm skin woke up the goosebumps. He couldn’t wait to have them bracketing his waist, his head as he loved her into oblivion. “No, baby...”
“You lookin’ real good, mama,” he complimented as he felt the lust rise within him. Cari looked at him over the rim of her brown glasses. She shook her head and slipped her hand underneath the kutte, tugging the thread. “That look was a little dangerous, Cari.”
“Angel, I’m barely dressed,” she replied, glancing down at the beige tank top that did wonders for her skin and little brown shorts that trekked up her legs.
“I know,” he winked slyly. Cari kissed her teeth and tossed the needle into the tin bucket on the table. She patted his chest and smiled. “All done.”
Angel thanked her and kissed her lips. Cari lifted her body off his lap and popped the top back on the bucket. She turned on her heels and started towards their shared room. Angel tsk’d and shook his head. “Not so fast, baby, where’s my congratulations at?”
His wife smirked as continued walking. “In the bedroom, come get it!”
Angel’s breath hitched as he watched her walk further down the hallway, tossing her tank top on the floor as she did so. “You’re gonna be the death of me.”

Miguel was captivated by the beauty of the young woman coming downstairs on the porch.
She was wearing just denim jeans and a simple black and white striped shirt, and her hair was in a messy bun but to him, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and even though she had a baby girl in her arms and was talking with a man who was holding the hand of a little boy, Miguel Galindo couldn’t keep his eyes off of her.
She smiled and a warm feeling ran through his body, but he was taken out of his daydream by Nestor who hit his ribs with his elbow to catch his attention.
“I think she’s married, Mickey,” Nestor said to him with a grin on his face.
“I don’t see a ring on her finger,” Miguel answered, looking at her again. She was saying her goodbyes to the man in front of her and ran her fingers through the little kid’s hair “What is he? Maybe six? Isn’t she too young to have a kid of that age?”
“That’s because she’s only the babysitter.” A man told him and when Miguel and Nestor turned around, they saw Marcus Álvarez walking toward them “And that man over there… Riz… he’s the uncle of the kids.”
The eight-year-old waved his hand to his uncle and grabbed the free hand of his babysitter as they walked away from the man in the kutte.
“I see our Addie caught your attention, Galindo.” Marcus said, grinning when Miguel shook his head “This is the first time I see you run out of words.”
Miguel chuckled “You said ‘our Addie’.” Miguel said, looking through the corner of his eye at how the woman named Addie opened the door of a silver SUV “What does that mean?”
“She’s like a little sister to one of the guys.” Marcus looked at Addie and smiled, waving his hand at her when their gazes found each other “She hangs out a lot with them. Es familia [She's family]”
Miguel nodded and forgot why he was there. It was extremely weird for him to go to the Mayans' clubhouse, but his eyes followed every move of Addie, and when a backpack fell from one of the backseat doors, he looked at Marcus and Nestor. Both men just shook their heads and let him walk toward the SUV.
“Can I have lucky charms for dinner?”
“It all depends on what mommy says.” Addie said as she was leaving the baby girl in her car seat to put her belt on “But I think there’ll be no problem.”
“Excuse me…”
Addie looked up and saw a man leaning on Eric’s door. He was older, not just two or three years older than her. He was at least eight years older, but, even so, he was the best-looking man that her eyes had seen.
The man raised his arm to show her the backpack.
“It fell.” He said, leaving it on the floor in front of Eric.
“Oh, thank you,” Addie said and Eric said the same a couple of seconds after, causing both adults to smile.
“May I help you?” Miguel asked, pointing to Eric’s seat belt “I see your hands are full.”
“Thank you again.” She nodded, smiling and looking down to check the baby’s belt is perfectly placed “I’m Adelaide.” She said as she extended her arm to shake hands with him.
“Miguel.” He shook her hand after putting the seatbelt on Eric “Nice to meet you.” He smiled just as she did.
“I haven’t seen you around here before,” Adelaide said once she stood in front of him after she closed Elena’s door.
He was tall and his posture full of confidence got her almost drooling. She didn’t remember when was the last time a man caused that to her.
“I don’t come that often…” he admitted, closing Eric’s door “Lucky I came today.”
Adelaide smiled and got a bit nervous when he looked her in the eyes while saying that. Suddenly, her knees were weak so she gave a step to her door even though she didn’t know if she was going to be able to walk straight.
“I’m here almost every day,” Adelaide said.
"I've heard." He nodded.
Adelaide was about to ask where did he hear that from but remembered he was with Marcus a couple of seconds before, so she smiled again and reached for her door but Miguel opened it for her. “Thanks… I have to take the kids to their house, but it was a pleasure to meet you, Miguel.”
“The pleasure was mine.” He answered, taking her hand to shake it again and smiling at her “I hope to see you again.”
“Me too.” She nodded and she meant it. Who wouldn't want to see him again? “I have to go…” she said, looking at their hands and he chuckled just to let her hand go.
“Yeah, sorry.”
Adelaide smiled feeling something in her stomach at seeing his smile, something she had not felt for a long time. Something she thought she would never feel again.
Miguel waited for her to get into the car and closed the door for her. She mumbled a ‘thanks’ and started the car to put her seat belt on.
Basically, they didn’t talk about anything, but that didn’t help when his gaze got lost for a couple of seconds in the spot where the car disappeared. He couldn’t remember when was the last time he saw a woman more beautiful than her. Maybe he never did.
Once she was out of the place and the doors were closed again, he looked at the two men standing a few feet away. They were looking at him, both of them were grinning.
Miguel shook his head; his smile was still there when he looked again to the exit, promising himself, that he would see her again.

Adelaide gets off of the uber and looks at the metal doors with the words Romero Brothers in front of her. The uber leaves and she looked down at her palm where the key that opens those doors is.
She remembers the day Bishop gave it to her and the day of her wedding when she wanted to give it back. He didn’t accept it “Keep it, in case you need it. We’re still your family.” He had told her.
She kept it all these years even though she never imagined she could need it. How wrong she was.
She gets in and sees the little office’s light on but there’s no need to go and look for someone ‘cause as soon as she closes the metal door, Chucky comes out of the office and freezes at seeing her.
“I hope you haven’t forgotten me,” Adelaide says, smiling a bit. Her eyes get teary at seeing a familiar face. It reminds her of when she used to spend most of her days in that place.
“Addie!” Chucky says still not believing she’s there Long time no see!”
“I know!” She nods and walks to him.
“Angel’s inside.” He says, waving his hand for her to follow him.
“Actually, I want to see Ezekiel. Is he here?” She asks, walking to his side and seeing him nodding.
“He’s here too.”
She smiles and tries hard to keep the tears in her eyes. Just hearing that her best friend is there makes her emotional. Also, she tries to put attention to what Chucky was telling her, about how things were with the M.C and how Ezekiel was doing with his tasks.
When they get into the Mayans' place, she sees a group of five men standing near the porch of the house. They all look at her and she knows from their facial expressions, they’re surprised and consternated.
“Mrs. Galindo,” Marcus and Bishop say at the same time when she gets closer to them.
“Don’t get me that shit.” She says, shaking her head and making them smile “I used the key, I hope it wasn’t a problem.”
“I told you to use it whenever you needed to.”
Bishop is the first one to take a step towards her to hug her. That’s when she can’t keep the tears in her eyes anymore. It’s been a long time since the last time she saw them. Bishop was something like an uncle to her, he could even be like a father figure too.
“Galindo knows you’re here?” Marcus asks her once she gets apart from Bishop.
Adelaide shakes her head no “I escaped from my lap dog.” She shrugs and smiles a bit when she hears them chuckling.
“That’s our girl!” Bishop says, wiping her tears away from her cheeks “How are you?” He asks her, placing his hands on her biceps and looking right into her eyes.
“Not that good” She makes a face and shrugs again "Look... Miguel promised me he's going to tell me everything, but sometimes he doesn't share things to protect me. I know you will..."
“Niña... Galindo gave us orders to not tell anyone else but him...” Bishop looks mortified but she insists:
“It's my son too, Bish.” She says and her eyes get filled with tears again “I deserve to know everything... please.”
Bishop looks at her and gives her a kind and warm smile “You'll have your son back, kid.”
Adelaide smiles and hugs him again “Thanks for helping.”
“We’re doing it for you.” He adds as she hugs him tighter.
“Is Ezekiel around?” She asks, looking at the other men.
“I think he’s at his camper.” Riz says “I walk you.”
She nods and says her goodbyes to the other men to walk to the side of Riz.
“So, you escaped from your lap dog,” Riz says and she just chuckles.
“I told him I needed to go to the office, he drove me there and I called an uber. Went out for the backdoor.” She told him, smiling “He’s an idiot.”
“He sounds like...” Riz nods and looks down at her “You shouldn’t be alone in ubers, though. It can be dangerous after what happened yesterday.”
“They’re not coming for me.” She shakes her head no “They had the chance to kill me and they didn’t.”
The light inside the trailer is on which proves Ezekiel is there. Adelaide turns to Riz and smiles at him.
“Hey…” He begins, turning at her too and cupping her cheeks in his hands “Your son needs you strong… don’t crumble.”
She nods “I’ll try it.”
He imitates her, kisses her forehead, and then leaves her in front of the trailer. She watches as he walks back to where they came from and then turns to the door. After knocking three times, she hears Ezekiel’s voice.
“What are you—?”
Her eyes fill with tears when she jumps to hug him and that’s the moment when she lets herself crumble. Ezekiel hugs her tightly, one of his arms firmly on her lower back, while his other hand lays on her head.
“Are you okay?” Ezekiel asks, cupping her cheeks to examine her face, searching for any sign that could tell him she’s hurt “Did they do something to you?”
“Not physically.” She says and shakes her head as she grabs his hands.
They get into the trailer, at first, they were silent for like fifteen minutes. She rested her head on Ezekiel and he just hugged her making her feel protected just like when they were kids.
It breaks his heart to see her like that. He saw her just two days before and she radiated happiness and peace to everyone. Now she looks so different. Her eyes don’t shine anymore, they seem lost, desperate, and filled with dread.
“Have you eaten?” Ezekiel whispers.
Adelaide nods and straights her spine to look at him.
“Don’t lie to me.”
“I don’t.” She smiles a bit and shakes her head “I had lunch with Miguel earlier… we weren’t hungry but Dita made us eat.”
Ezekiel seems fine with that answer.
“Something happened, Ez.” She says. Her hands are in her hair as she leans her elbows on the little table in front of them “Miguel promised he wouldn’t retaliate but… he talked with Devante and something changed. He didn’t dare to look me in the eyes after that, he just—just ignored me when I tried to talk to him. I’m sure something happened…”
Adelaide is tired of crying, she can feel how swollen her eyes are and she can imagine how bad they look. She doesn’t give a damn, though.
“I trust you, Ez. I know you’d tell me in case you know something…”
Her friend just nods, not being able to promise something like that. Not when he knows more than he would like to.
“I’m sorry for coming without calling. I wanted to get out of the house... talk to someone. Someone who knows what’s going on…”
Ezekiel frowns “Your mother doesn't know?”
“Don’t tell her.” Adelaide asks him “She’s busy… she doesn’t need to know.”
Ezekiel just nods, keeping more questions to himself. He knows she has been thinking about what she’s gonna do when her mother wants to see them.
“It happened,” Ezekiel says, regretting it at the moment those words left his mouth. Adelaide looks at him expecting to hear more “Retaliation… Two innocents burned to death. Dumped in Merchant Square.”
Adelaide sighs, her eyes closing and bowing her head down.
She doesn’t cry, at this point, she thinks she doesn’t have any more tears left, besides, she knew something was happening. Deep inside her, she knew Miguel made empty promises just to not worry her.
“Thanks for telling me—”
The camper’s door opens interrupting her. Both of them turn around and see Angel coming in. the oldest Reyes stops when he sees his brother’s guest, so he gives a step back “I’ll come back later—”
“I’m about to call an uber.” Adelaide stands up and grabs her phone.
“And I’ll go with her…” Ezekiel looks annoyingly at his brother. He is the last person he wants to see at the moment.
“There’s no need—” she starts to say, looking up from her phone.
“I’m not letting you go alone.” Ezekiel shakes his head and she knows there’s no point in fighting with him. He wouldn’t desist.
Ezekiel gets off of the camper and when Adelaide is about to do the same, Angel touched her shoulder, catching her attention “Uh—I’m sorry for what happened…” he seems uncomfortable and so does she, who just nods “I’m not letting anything happen to your son.”
Adelaide looks up at him again and swallows hard, suddenly, she begins to feel overwhelmed by those words. She just wants to run away as fast as she can from there, feeling not worthy of that promise. Feeling like she’s being attacked.
So she just follows Ezekiel, trying not to think too much about it.

[MIGUEL GALINDO X OC]
Word count ; 1,964
Luciana felt like she couldn't sit still for anything as she intensively watched as the clock ticked above her wooden desk. The Oceteva girl had practically been jumping up and down like an excited bunny ever since school had let out hours ago. Luciana had barely contained her excitement on her walk home as her thoughts were only filled of the surprise that Miguel had planned and her plan of finally telling him how she felt.
The Oceteva girl couldn't help the small squeal of excitement that fell from her painted red lips as soon as her clock finally read ten o'clock. Luciana took a glance over to her cracked bedroom door, and sure enough, she saw that the lights were out - which meant that her parents had fallen asleep for the night.
This was always Luciana's usual routine when she would go meet up with Miguel. She would wait until her parents had closed their bedroom door for the night and all the lights in the house were off before she would make her escape. Luciana's brother, Nestor, usually wasn't home when she left at ten but when he was, Luciana would just make up a lie so he didn't know she was going to see his best friend.
The brunette teenager jumped up from her desk as it was time to finally see her amazing boyfriend after not seeing him since this morning at school. Luciana quickly jogged over to her full body mirror as she wanted to make sure that she looked perfect for Miguel's surprise. The Oceteva girl smoothed her hands down her short denim skirt and fixed the lavender button up shirt, that she had stolen from Miguel over this summer, so one side was hanging off her shoulder and the other was straight.
Luciana gave her reflection a wide smile once she was happy with her outfit that she knew Miguel would absolutely love before she jogged over to the foot of her bed. The Oceteva girl quickly slipped on a pair of black Dr. Martens combat boots and grabbed a small lavender purse that held her Nokia phone and her clear lip gloss before she rushed out of her bedroom as quietly as she could.
Luciana was quite comfortable with sneaking out like she had been doing for the past year so she knew all the right steps to take in the hallway and in the living room to not hit any of the squeaky floorboards. The Oceteva girl was just about to reach the front door to make her grand escape but Luciana wasn't counting for her brother to suddenly pop out of the kitchen and ask, "hey, where are you going?"
The youngest Oceteva froze in her spot before she reminded herself to relax at the fact that it was only her brother and not her parents. Luciana took a deep breath before she turned around and faced Nestor with her usual bright smile so he wouldn't think that she was up to something. "I was just going to go pick up some snacks from the store," Luciana explained with a small shrug of her shoulders like it wasn't a big deal.
"Oh, alright," Nestor mumbled with a nod of his head before he tossed his body onto his parent's couch in the living room. Nestor wasn't overly protective when it came to his sister, well, sometimes, but this time - he just wanted to know where Luciana would be. It was just a sibling thing. The Oceteva teenager waved his hand with a small smirk playing on his lips when Luciana continued to just stand there before he told his sister, "well, get going then, ugly."
Luciana rolled her brown irises at her brother before she mumbled as she carelessly waved her hand, "yeah, yeah, yeah." The Oceteva girl shook her head in amusement as she walked towards the front door before she told Nestor as she took her exit with the nickname that they have called each other since middle school, "I'll see you later, ugly."
The Oceteva girl released a happy sigh once she closed the door of her home behind her and began walking down the street as she realized that she was free from being caught and she was that closer to finally seeing what Miguel's surprise was. Luciana couldn't help the bright smile that shined across her face when she saw that the familiar park, her and Miguel's meeting spot, was only a few feet in front of her.
Luciana could barley contain her excitement as she jogged the rest of the way to the park. However, when the Oceteva girl couldn't see the Galindo teenager when she walked onto the soft sand, Luciana couldn't help but to roll her brown eyes. "Of course," Luciana mumbled to herself before she released a small chuckle as she knew Miguel had a thing about being fashionably late - even to his own plan.
The Oceteva girl shrugged her shoulders as she was used to Miguel's tardiness before she skipped her way over to the set of swings. Luciana placed her denim bottom into one of the black seats before she began to swing as her brown irises was locked on the bright moon in the sky. The brunette girl couldn't help the happy sigh that escaped her lips as she waited for her boyfriend.
Miguel meant the absolute world to Luciana - even though their relationship was still fairly new with only being with one another for less than a year. They had been friends basically their whole childhood so it wasn't like they didn't already know so much about each other. Luciana had a crush on Miguel for years so it wasn't surprising that she already cared and loved him so much. That was another reason why Luciana was so excited for tonight since she planned on finally confessing her feelings to him.
Luciana was so lost in her thoughts about the love of her life that it took a dog running up beside her for the Oceteva girl to realize that she had been sitting on the swing for a while. The brunette teenager took a glance down to the silver watch on her wrist as she curious of how long she had been at the park before she immediately frowned when she saw it was already after eleven o'clock.
Luciana couldn't help but to get worried that Miguel hadn't showed up yet nor had he called to let her know that he was going to be a little late like he usually would. The Oceteva girl wanted to make sure that Miguel was still coming so Luciana pulled her Nokia phone out of her lavender purse to give the Galindo teenager a call.
However, though, before Luciana could even begin to dial her boyfriend's number, the Oceteva girl was interrupted as her brother's number popped up onto her device. The Oceteva girl huffed out a sigh at her annoying brother before she pressed the accept button as she realized that maybe Nestor could be calling to tell her that Miguel had showed up to their house. "Hey, what's up?" Luciana greeted her brother in a normal voice and not a worried one after she brought her Nokia up to her ear.
Luciana, sadly, didn't get the response that she had been hoping for with the location of her boyfriend. Instead, the oldest Oceteva sibling ignored his sister's greeting as he excitedly asked, "hey, did Mikey tell you the good news yet?"
The brunette girl immediately furrowed her brows at her brother's words before she mumbled, "uh, no." Luciana honestly had no idea what the hell Nestor was talking about. Luciana, for all she knew, nothing interesting had happened to her boyfriend lately. Unless, Luciana thought before she quickly shook her head as she knew Miguel wouldn't out their relationship to her brother without telling her first.
Nestor released an amused chuckle at the thought of his best friend before he told his sister with a shrug of his shoulders, "oh, he's probably already left, that overachiever." The older Oceteva lightly waved his hand, even though his sister couldn't even see it, before he told Luciana the good news, "well, anyways, Miguel's dad just called me and said Miguel got an early acceptance into Princeton. Jose said Mickey left to America as soon as he got the news!"
The Oceteva girl immediately let out a loud gasp as she felt her heart break. Luciana didn't even know that Miguel had been applying to any universities. Miguel had told her that he was going to look for a job in the city to get away from his father, so it didn't make any sense. Luciana didn't understand why Miguel would decide to go to the states for school like his father wanted. It was just completely mind boggling that she couldn't even comprehend what she was feeling right now.
However, despite Luciana's broken heart, she knew that she couldn't show her true emotions about how heartbroken she was to her clueless brother or he would know something was between her and Miguel. The Oceteva girl knew that she had to suck up her sadness for the moment, so she took a deep breath before she exclaimed as if she was truly happy, "that's amazing!"
"We can call him tomorrow to congratulate him," Nestor told his sister before he commanded with a chuckle, "now hurry your ass up. It's been over an hour and I'm fucking starving."
Luciana swore underneath her breath as she forgot that she had told her brother that she was getting food at the store for an excuse to meet up with Miguel. The thought of the Galindo teenager instantly made tears cloud Luciana's brown irises. The Oceteva girl quickly wiped the tears as best as she could before she mumbled, "yeah, okay."
Luciana didn't wait for her brother to say anything more before she hurriedly ended the call with her hands shaking as she did so. The Oceteva girl tossed the Nokia phone down on the sand below her feet as soon as she ended the call and she let all the tears fall from her eyes. Luciana couldn't help the loud sob that escaped her body from the fact that Miguel just left like that. It was even worse that Miguel didn't even say goodbye to her.
Luciana would have been upset, sure, but she would have still supported him if he had changed his mind about going to college. Luciana just didn't believe that Miguel didn't care enough about her to tell her the truth. The Oceteva girl shook her head with a humorless chuckle as she realized something - that she was all just one big game to him. Luciana figured that she was just one last high school hurrah for him before he started his new life in the states.
The Oceteva girl couldn't stop the tears and the sobs that continued to rack her figure as her body slowly slid out of the swing and down onto the sand. Luciana had never felt anymore broken than she felt right now. Luciana felt like Miguel cherished and took care of her heart for less than a year before he ripped it from her chest and stomped on it.
"I guess I never really meant anything to you," Luciana mumbled to herself as she tightly wrapped her arms around the lavender button up shirt that belonged to the boy who never really cared for her as tears continued to pour down her cheeks and her heart continued to break over and over again, "it was all just a game for you to break my heart when you meant the world to me."

If You Kissed Me Now (Nestor x OC)
On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me simply golden Nestor.
Word Count: 3,432
Playlist: Last Christmas - Wham! & Christmas Time is Here (Vocal) - Vince Guaraldi Trio
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We had a specific arrangement. No feelings, no attachments, no obligation. We kept it simple, and fun. It worked. For the most part. There were a few routines we had that blurred the lines a bit, but neither of us were particularly bothered. He kept me a secret because of Galindo, and I kept him a secret because well, Galindo.
It wasn’t every night that Nestor stopped by, but I expected him more often than not. Tonight was another one of those nights. No prior text or call, just Nestor stepping through the door. When he did come over, there were two ways the night could pan out.
Typically, he’d ambush me the second he saw me. Throwing us into a long night of passion and good times. However, there were the few and far between nights that had him dragging his feet and collapsing down on my couch. Tonight happened to be one of those nights.
I was leaning against the counter in the kitchen when I head the front door click open. I peered around the fridge, seeing Nestor’s tired eyes. The door closed of it’s own accord, Nestor’s eyes closed as he stood in the doorway. I arched an eyebrow but waited. He wasn’t a man that you pushed. He’d make his issues known when he was ready.
Without a word, he trudged forward, past the kitchen and right into the living room. I watched the entire time until he fell back onto the couch. He leaned back, head in his hands. I sighed. Must’ve been a hard day.  I popped my hip off the counter and opened the fridge. Grabbing two beers.
I popped both caps off as I walked into the living room. I placed one down on the coffee table in front of him. I nudged the TV remote in the same direction, but Nestor was one to enjoy the quiet when the time called. Taking a swing of my drink, I stepped up onto the couch, settling myself behind him.
I encased Nestor between my legs and pulled his head back until it was laying in my lap. He didn’t protest. I set my beer down on the ledge next to me and began running my hands along his French braids. On my second time through them, I delved my fingers into his hair, massaging his scalp.
His shoulders immediately relaxed, and his body slumped into me. I smiled. I may have been the only person to know his secret. He was a man who loved his hair being played with. I slid one hand down the right braid, wrapping it around my palm and tugging. He let out a quiet mumble and I leaned down to press a kiss to his temple.
I let his hair unravel from my hand and watched as it fell back down to his shoulder. I continued to massage his scalp, reaching down to the back of neck and top of his shoulders. After loosening up the tension, I reached for the ends of his braids, took out the ties and began undoing the long plaits.
I didn’t mind these nights. They were welcomed. Over the last year of our tryst, we’d shared the few stress relievers that we held close to our hearts. These quiet nights were becoming more often and I couldn’t help the worry that built. I knew he appreciated that I didn’t question the change, but at the same time I wanted to make sure he was ok.
There were rumours going around that Miguel’s son had been kidnapped. If it was true, it would explain why Nestor was so exhausted. He was Galindo’s commander. He was in charge. He led the Calvary. If they were searching for his son, there was no way Nestor was taking any breaks. It was surprising he was even finding time to make these visits.
Lost in my thoughts, I almost missed as Nestor’s arm reached out and plucked my beer from next to me. He brought it back to his mouth and was about to begin drinking when I realized what he was doing.
“That one’s mine.” I murmured.
He gave a tired smirk but continued to drink out of my bottle, letting his eyes sink closed again. I rolled my eyes and gave a gentle tug on the end of his hair. He opened his eyes, narrowing them up at me. I winked, giving him an innocent smile. I let him drink the rest of my beer, while running my fingers through his unbraided hair, detangling it.
“You have plans on the 23rd?” I asked.
It was random, but I figured he could maybe use a distraction from his day job. He furrowed his eyebrows before shifting to his left and gazing at me.
I shrugged, “I have a work function. Want to be my date?”
His eyebrows shot into his hairline.
I laughed at him, “You don’t have too. I was just thinking it would be a nice change?”
He turned back, facing the front again. He lifted the bottle to his mouth, downed the remaining liquid and swallowed. I swung my leg around him and slid down the couch cushions to sit next to him. I bent one leg beneath me, and held my head up with my hand.
“That’s the day before Christmas Eve.” He observed.
I nodded, “Yep.”
“You’re inviting me to your work’s Christmas party.” He elaborated.
I exhaled, “Is that a problem?”
He pouted in thought. I wasn’t sure if he’d say yes or not. If everything with the cartel was as bad as it was sounding to be, he might not even have the time to break away for a night. I moved to reach for the beer on the table, the one original for him, when his arm intercepted mine and stole the second beer.
I let out a sound of protest, glancing up at him to see the stupid shit eating grin on his face.
“You already drank mine.” I argued.
He chuckled, shrugged and tipped it towards his mouth. I rolled my eyes and smacked the arm holding the bottle. He lost his grip on it, tilting it and spilling it all over himself. I fell backwards into the couch laughing, only to have him crawl onto of me and shake out the liquid like a dog, coating me in the mess.
“Ugh!” I groaned while attempting to shield my face.
His laughter rang out around us as he lowered himself down to my level. I dropped my arms let them settle on his shoulders. His hands caressed their way up my arms and encased my neck. I bit down on my lip but Nestor dove down, prying my lips apart with his teeth. He tugged on my lower lip before letting go and kissing me swiftly.
“What do I have to wear?” He murmured, pressing another kiss to my mouth.
I paused, holding his head a few inches from mine. I searched his eyes, unsure if he was coming by his question honestly. I would never want to make him feel pressured to make a change he wasn’t ready for. Knowing exactly what I was doing, he winked and smiled.
“Seriously?” I needed to ask, for my own clarity.
He nodded in affirmation, “Yes. What’s the dress code?”
“Black tie.” I responded, a shy grin growing on my mouth, “Super fancy.”
He rolled his eyes, and sat up, pulling me with him.
He sighed, “Alright. I’ll pick you up and we’ll go together.”
I scrunched up my nose, pleased that he wanted to be my date for the evening. I threw one leg over his lap and leaned my head on his shoulder. I grabbed the remote off the table, flicked the TV on and began channel surfing. Nestor reclined into the cushions, draping his arm around my shoulders.
I stopped on the Food Network, admiring the meal being made before my eyes. Whatever it was was deep fried and cheesy goodness. My stomach rumbled and I remembered why I was in the kitchen when Nestor showed up. I’d been hungry and rummaging through my cupboards for a snack.
I licked my lips and glanced up at Nestor, “Great, now what’s for dinner?”
He laughed and pressed a kiss to my temple before grabbing his phone to start scrolling through Uber Eats.
~(MMC)~
I stood in my hallway, using the mirror there to pin the last few pieces of hair in place. I hadn’t gone for much in the hair department. A simple up-do with a few stray tendrils here and there. It complimented the low cut off the shoulder evening gown I was wearing. I went for a deep rouge colour, knowing it would compliment my skin tone.
I hadn’t gone overboard with the accessories, choosing to only wear a delicate gold chain and matching gold pumps. I glanced out the front window as I heard a car pulling up. I checked the time on my phone and smirked. Exactly on time. I slipped on my shoes, making sure the straps were securely in place before reaching for the door.
I tucked my clutch under my arm, recounting all the essentials I needed for the evening. Lipstick, phone, keys, cash and cards. I stepped through the door, shutting it behind me and locking it. I turned towards Nestor’s car to find him ducking out of the driver’s side to come and greet me.
When Nestor came around and looked up he froze. I bit down on my lip, nervous. Neither of us had ever been so formal. I continued towards him, reaching down to grab a handful of my gown before reaching the steps. Upon reaching them, Nestor shook out of his reverie and held out a hand.
I laid my other hand in his and he guided me down the steps. As I made my way down I couldn’t help but be impressed with his attire. Nestor never looked shabby, but there was a distinct difference from his everyday clothes to this. He was donned in all black. Black slacks, a black button up and a black tie. The only colour on him was the gold Gaudalupe chain and pendant.
Both of us were caught up in admiring the other. I knew tonight would be different for us. We’d never gone out in public together. We didn’t ‘date’. Add in the formality of the night, and it made it seem like more than just a simple work party. It felt like an official first date.
While still holding my hand, Nestor took a step backwards and made a show of eyeing me up and down. I blushed but loved the attention. He stepped in closer, his eyes locked on mine.
“Mi princesa.” He murmured.
The heat in my cheeks strengthened and I attempted to hid behind my clutch. I took a moment to steel myself again, hoping most of the red had disappeared. I peered over at Nestor, who was still grinning. I tapped him lightly on his upper arm with my clutch.
“Don’t get all sentimental on me now.” I teased, “Where’s that bad boy persona you so like to flaunt?”
He chuckled at my obvious ploy to distract him but wasn’t falling for it. Instead of replying, he led me towards the car, opened it and helped my climb up into the seat.
“Think you can handle the buckle on your own?” He taunted.
I rolled my eyes, grabbing for the door, “Shut up.”
He laughed out loud as a I shut the door in his face. He rounded the front of the car before climbing into his side. I made a big show of pushing the buckle into the clasp and staring at him. He shook his head in amusement, a smirk on his mouth.
He pulled away from the curb and we were on our way. My heart was pounding, the rush of blood all I could hear. I knew that he agreed to this, but now the nerves were taking over. I stared out my window, watching the scenery as it blurred past. I really liked Nestor. Maybe a bit more than the ‘friends with benefits’ rapport we agreed on. I didn’t want to overthink the night, but it was Christmas after all. Didn’t we all get that one Christmas wish? He could be mine.
We’d only been driving for twenty minutes when his phone went off. Without glancing down, he picked it up and answered. I could hear immediately who was on the other end. It was a voice I’d grown to recognize. Miguel Galindo. We’d never met, seeing as Nestor and I never stepping out of our comfort zones. I knew without a doubt that Miguel was Nestor’s oldest and best friend. Aside from the whole cartel thing.
The conversation wasn’t long, and I knew that meant that Nestor wouldn’t be accompanying me to my party. When Miguel called, Nestor was gone. Not only was that his employer, but it was also his friend. Someone he cared deeply for. I couldn’t be mad. I sighed waiting for the inevitable. Nestor dropped his phone back down onto the console and turned to me.
“Mind if we make a quick stop?” He asked.
My mind reeled. What was he saying? I knew literally what he was asking me, but what was the underlying meaning? Where were we making this so called stop?
“You sure?” I confirmed, “You can just drop me here. I’ll call an uber, or catch a cab.”
Nestor shook his head, “No. Half an hour, tops. Then we’ll be back on the road.”
I arched my eyebrows, surprised that he was being so forthcoming.
I shrugged, “Alright.”
~(MMC)~
When we pulled into the driveway, I felt all the air from my lungs disappear. I’d seen beautiful homes before, but it was another thing to be pulling up in front of one. Nestor grabbed his effects, before turning off the car and stashing his keys in his pocket.
I relaxed back into my seat, prepared to wait out however long we’d be here. Nestor took no more than three steps towards the house before he realized that I hadn’t moved. He turned around and beckoned me to follow him. I widened my eyes, questioning him. Nestor nodded, coming back to the car.
“Come on.” He coaxed, “You’ll be more comfortable inside.”
He held out his hand, waiting. I swallowed. I was going to meet Miguel. This was huge. Was I prepared for how huge this was? I thought tonight was a small change. Something new added to our routine. Nestor had gone and chosen to make a full statement.
I exhaled and placed my hand in his. I’d already decided that I wanted him. Cartel and all. If he was willing to make that stand too, then I wouldn’t make it hard on him. I slipped from my seat, the sound of my heels on the cobblestone driveway loud to my ears.
When we reached the door, he didn’t knock. Every alarm in my head began going off. I wasn’t even knocking at the door of Miguel Galindo. I was waltzing into his family home. A stranger. Someone he didn’t even know. I really hoped Nestor knew what he was doing.
Nestor led me straight into the main room. He offered me a seat, but I was too nervous. I discreetly shook my head, opting to stand for the time being. I was prepared to be kicked out on my ass. There was no way I’d be permitted to stay in here.
“Nestor!” I heard Miguel call from our left.
We both turned, and it took all but second for Miguel to notice me. I swallowed, seeing the calculating expression on his face. He made his way over, and greeted Nestor without any malice. When they parted, Nestor turned to me, grabbing my hand and pulling me closer.
“This is who I’ve been hiding.” Nestor announced, “The one I wouldn’t tell you about, mi princesa.”
For a split second I forgot where were were and sighed, lightly smacking Nestor’s arm. Miguel watched the interaction with fascination. His eyebrows shooting up into his hairline.
“Princesa?” Miguel questioned, pointedly looking at Nestor.
I rolled my eyes, trying to remain calm. I nodded, inhaling to quell the butterflies in my stomach and extended my hand.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you.” I greeted, “Nestor doesn’t talk much about his personal life, but there’s no question that you mean a lot to him.”
Miguel chuckled, and took my hand. He pulled me closer and gave me the traditional kiss on both cheeks.
On the second cheek, he whispered, “You can relax. You wouldn’t be here if Nestor didn’t completely trust you.”
I blinked at the statement. Wild tears began to build. Ones that I hadn’t realized had been in the bank but now that my fears had been acknowledged, they felt the need to make themselves known. I bobbed my head in acknowledgement and turned away to wipe at the tears threatening to spill over.
Miguel pulled back, “Why don’t you have a seat out there,” He pointed to the back deck, “and I’ll have Nestor back to you in no time.”
I smiled, “Thank you.”
As I made my way across the room, Nestor broke from his conversation to catch my wrist. I turned to face him, and he puckered his lips to blow me a kiss. I smirked, laughing at his cockiness. Regardless of how sweet he was being, his inner sixteen-year-old always made an appearance. I shook my head at him, and kept on walking.
“Cool it lover boy.” I fake admonished, “You haven’t even taken me on a real date yet.”
I could hear Miguels laughter as I walked away.
~(MMC)~
We were back in the car, no more than forty-five minutes later. It was a bit longer than the half hour he promised, but I wasn’t all that concerned. Nestor leaned forward, inserting the keys into the ignition but paused.
“What?” I questioned, tilting my head to the left.
He exhaled, closing his eyes. After a beat, he pushed back on the steering wheel and reached into the console storage between us. He lifted up the arm rest and pulled out a rectangular black velvet box. There was a simple red bow tied around it.
He held the box between his hands, staring down at it.
“I was going to wait until Christmas to give this to you.” He explained, “I’ve been carrying it around for weeks now. I wasn’t sure if it would be too much. We’d always been comfortable in our arrangement. And you barely wear any jewellery. I didn’t know if you’d appreciate the gesture. Then you asked me to come with you tonight. Some how, we ended up on the same page without the other knowing.”
Everything around me froze. My brain stopped functioning and I wasn’t even sure I was breathing. This was too good to be true. He handed the small package out to me. With shaking hands, I accepted the gift. I laid it down in my lap, taking a moment to process the gravity of our situation.
I ran one finger under the ribbon, breaking the bow away from the box. With my thumbs I pushed the box up and open. I let out an audible gasp when I saw what laid inside.
“Nestor.” I murmured.
It was beautiful, gold chain bracelet. It was dainty and subtle. There were two charms hanging from it. One a heart, and the other the first letter of my name. I rolled my lips together, unsure of what to say. No words seemed to be appropriate for this gift.
I held out my wrist, “Put it on, please.”
He smiled, plucking the delicate bracelet from the cushion. He wrapped it around my wrist, attaching the clasps together. The cool metal made the hair on my skin stand up. It was precious. Important. I gazed up at the man across from me. His eyes were shining, proud of his present. Proud of me.
His hands framed my face as he bowed to kiss me. I met his mouth with mine. It was wet and imperfect, but I didn’t care. I knew a few tears had spilled over and I was ok with that. I pulled back, licking my lips. Never in all my years had I pictured myself having the fairy tale Christmas story but here I was, experiencing it all.
“Merry Christmas, mi princesa.” He whispered, kissing me one more time.

Shadowy clouds hang overhead, blocking out the warming glow of the Sun. Raindrops pelt the roof above, drumming a beat of their own before pooling down to the concrete paved streets below. Isis watches stray droplets gather on the tall windows for several moments before stepping out onto the covered balcony. It felt colder than usual inside the three-story, Spanish-style shophouse, but outside it’s the opposite-- balmy, earthy. The air is heavy with humidity, so she has to take deep breaths, but she doesn’t enjoy it any less. Invigoration comes with the rain, brings hope for new beginnings, renews faith for the hopeless.
Down below, people dart between vendors to continue their shopping as the rain lightens. Colorful rays spring from puddles up towards the sky. A pair of young siblings splash each other while their mother sells delicious smelling tamales wrapped in banana leaves. Another young woman peddles gold necklaces, praying candles, and other little knick-knacks to the tourists of Sonora. Everybody has to make a living, including Isis.
She spends her days stroking the strings of a guitar or the keys of her piano, helping patrons of the music shop in between. The ground floor of the shophouse boasts string instruments and an extensive collection of vinyl records. After hours, she makes money hosting private piano lessons. She performs at the Discoteca down the street on weekends, fueling her passion for music almost 24/7 except when Preciosa is closed for ‘maintenance’.
Overstock merchandise and whatever else the Mayans’ Motorcycle Clubs needs to store clutters the second floor. Don’t ask, don’t tell is her motto, so whenever they come to the shop, she simply flips the sign to closed. There’s no point in fighting it. Besides, El Presidente always makes it a bearable, if not pleasant, experience. Bishop had called ahead to warn her that he was bringing Hank, Angel, and the new prospect, Angel’s baby brother, along. She could hear them bumping around, a noisy reminder that her shop only thrived because of the illegal deals happening in the back.
“Why don’t you put all that time and energy into something that’ll get you somewhere?” Being a musician wasn’t an acceptable career in her mother’s eyes, so the woman took every chance she could to crush her daughter’s dreams. “Nobody wants to hear all that noise!” Staring out into the street, she can’t help but wonder where she would’ve ended up if her mother had been supportive. Maybe she could have been a star rising to the top of Billboard charts or someone who worked behind the scenes, writing songs, singing demos. She had the skill set. Yes, her path would have been much different.
Isis had stood front and center, crooning out an old school blues song at a hole-in-the-wall spot when Miguel Galindo first laid eyes on her. It was a chance meeting, one that felt like fate at the time because dive bars weren’t his scene. The owner was a business associate who decided to try his hand at being a restaurateur; Miguel had been kind enough to come out and support. When he caught sight of her shapely frame in a slinky, satin number, he insisted on being introduced.
Miguel stood out in a crowd, wearing a tailored button-down, dark dress pants, and an expensive pair of Italian leather shoes. His salt and pepper beard groomed to perfection, hair gelled so that no strand was out of place. The moment she’d looked into his eyes, she was caught in his web. His masculine scent drew her in like honey to a bee. His charisma held her attention. Miguel sweet-talked her all night, insisting Isis sit next to him, eat h’orderves, and drink overpriced champagne. She obliged. Who could say no to that face? He used their close proximity to reel her in like a fish on a hook, leaning down to whisper in her ear. You’re beautiful. He told her. You have such a smooth, seductive tone. You should be performing for bigger crowds. Have you ever thought about branching out? He told her everything her mother never had, so she was a lamb to the slaughter.
For months, Miguel had treated her like his very own LifeSize doll to play with. He took her on shopping sprees, kept her draped in silk and lace. Isis didn’t think of herself as materialistic, but she couldn’t deny being showered in gifts felt splendid. He was always so tender, handling her delicately as his newest prized possession. As time went on, she became more like an ornament. Something for him to marvel at when he felt like it and then hide away the rest of the time. But nothing was worse than him leaving her to harden after he was finished molding her like clay. She asked for more—time, commitment, only for him to do the opposite.
Thus, Preciosa was born. A way for him to placate her and later make it easier for the M.C. to make him money.
“Just a few more minutes, and we’ll be out your way.” Isis jumped at the sound, turning away from the street to see Bishop. She hadn’t heard him come outside; didn’t expect him to venture up into her personal space.
Isis’ smile rarely reached her eyes, Bishop noticed. He stepped forward, holding a velvet box that felt heavier than it was. Her fingertips tickled him as he passed it over. Diamonds surrounded in white gold gleamed as the clouds cleared away for the Sun. Even Bishop could admit the set was gorgeous, but she didn’t look impressed. He hated being Galindo’s delivery boy, watching the way her face fell when the gifts she received became increasingly impersonal with each week. Not long ago, he’d also been tasked with passing along handwritten love notes or antique music sheets that she caressed like she would a lover’s skin.
“Thank you.”
She couldn’t hide her disappointment from him. Not for lack of trying-- Miguel always reminded her, appearances were everything. Smile. Don’t make me look bad. But Bishop watched her closely, knew her tells. Despite every nerve in his brain urging him to walk away, he steps forward to stand next to her. His calloused hands rest on the balcony’s edge next to her delicate pair, brown in varying tones of sepia and mahogany contrasting against the white paint.
Bishop feels the heat of her eyes on his frame, but he doesn’t let himself respond. Sharing this moment, a quick breath of fresh air will have to be enough. But she’s all around him, smelling of florals and sweet spices. He can’t think. He fumbles with his pockets in search of a cigarette. “You mind?” She shakes her head but is otherwise silent. Still watching him as he smokes; the way he takes long, steady pulls, cradling the stick between his full lips and then between his strong, veined fingers. She would bet her last dollar that he was an expert at other things involving his fingers and mouth.
When his hand drops again, she links her pinky with his, hesitant but exploratory.
Bishop looks at her, really looks at her like he sees her. It’s nice to be seen, especially when you’re the princess locked up far, far away from everyone you’ve ever known. She’s a black girl from Texas living in Sonora for goodness’ sake. This is no life, and she knows it. Several moments pass where neither can look away, both weighing their desires with the potential consequences.
With a deep breath in, she musters up the courage to ask Bishop what she’s been wanting to for months.
“Stay?”
Her heart feels like it might just explode while she waits for a response.
Bishop drops his head to his chest, cursing under his breath. “Fuck.” If Miguel ever found out… But he already knew what his answer would be. He’d been waiting for the invitation. The heated looks they exchanged, the way her fingers lingered on his when he passed her something. That damned pout she wore when Miguel forgot to send a flower arrangement-- she had no idea Bishop had been the one buying the flowers for some time now. No matter what mood she was in, fresh flowers always brightened her day. He loved watching that lonely look transform into something more lively, curious as she marveled over his choice for the week. He went for variety, slowly learning what she loved and what she just liked; her favorite color, favorite scent.
The subtle tension between them, he wasn’t even certain she noticed. The cash and the bling could’ve blinded her to all other men. But it didn’t.
When the Sun had gone down several hours later, and the guys were gone, Bishop redressed. Belt buckling with a clink, leather sliding over his shoulders easily. He let himself take one last look at her wrapped up in a poofy comforter set. The mustard-yellow velvet complimented her skin in the best way, bringing out a gold undertone. Her eyes seem to have brightened as well. He couldn’t resist leaning over to stroke her sweaty skin. Dark coils stuck to her beautiful face, frizzy in some parts from when she rode him, sweat escaping from her pores, flat in the others from when he laid her on her back and hooked her legs over her shoulders.
He wants to stay, to prop himself up against the intricately carved wood headboard and hold her in his lap while they whisper sweet nothing to each other, but he can’t.
She’s not his, and she won’t ever be, so he leaves her with words whispered like a promise. “Until we meet again, preciosa.”

NOTES || This fic and the collage above was inspired by @isisafrofairy’s gorgeous moodboard! Also, the wonderful “Until we meet again, preciosa” line is hers as well. This is my thank you for the moodboard you made for me. I really leaned on the pictures you used for inspiration and I think I managed to capture/include each element. It was so hard not to ruin the surprise, but I was able to shut tf up for once 😂 I’m really proud of how this turned out, and hopefully you enjoy it just as much! Also, I realize the moodboard had nothing to do with Miguel but he lives in my head rent-free apparently 🥴

more than enough
Tumblr media
angel reyes x black!oc
Isa was preoccupied with the book her father-in-law had gifted her years prior. She’d read it at least twice before, yet never was she able to get enough of the legendary story of the seemingly insane man that was all but intrigued with the chivalrous caballeros he’d read about in many books.
She remembered the day where she was home by herself with nothing to do, very similar to her current scenario, and was perched on the couch with the thick book in her hands. She was so deep into the novel that she didn’t notice her husband had slipped past the front door and entered the living room, where his eyes had been trained on her for many moments.
“What the hell is Don Quijote?” It was only then that Isa acknowledged his presence. With a small chuckle, she lifted her head and pushed her glasses further upon her face.
“A story about a guy who read too many books about cabelleros and was convinced he was one. Went on a helluva lot of adventures, too. Con su amigo, Sancho Panza,” she explained as she closed the book over her fingers. Angel’s face contorted as he shook his head.
“Sounds...interesting,” he said while placing a sweet kiss against her temple.
Tonight was no different. Except when Angel entered their home, his demeanor caught her attention more than his words ever would. The smile that was on her lips when she heard his boots against the floor, dropped just as quickly as it formed.
“Angel...” she quickly swiped her bookmark off the couch cushion and slid it in between the pages. Recounting the interaction between the Dutch and Dutchess would have to wait until later, she told herself.
His usual confidence that made him seem like Goliath in the midst of David was gone. He looked so small, almost defeated. Her feet padded against the floor hardwood floor. She ignored the coolness piercing the buttoms of her feet as she inched closer towards her significant other.
“What happened?” she asked gently, taking his hands warm hands in hers. They were calloused and rough from constantly gripping the motorcycle handles, but still they felt like home.
“Nothin’.” he brushed off while trying to force a smile. “You look good, baby.” Isa glanced down at her (his) shirt that fit her like a dress and old pajama pants. She blinked a few times. Angel released his hands from hers and bent down to kiss her lips. Isa didn’t move when his lips brushed against hers, but he didn’t care to notice.
Isa’s eyes followed him as he kicked his boots off by the door and shrugged his decorated kutte off his broad shoulders. He tossed it on the hook next to the door and swept past her, muttering how he was going to take a shower.
“Okay,” she squeaked out, looking down at her fingers. It wasn’t out of the ordinary for Angel to be upset. It was only out of the ordinary for him to not immediately communicate with her. She was used to him throwing himself into her arms and rambling on about what bursted his bubble, not whatever that was.
With a small sigh, Isa moved back to the couch where she tossed her book on the coffee table, hoping she’d have time to return to it the next day. She fixed the throw pillows and the throw blanket so the couch would look untouched before she turned off the lamp and trudged to their shared bedroom down the hall.
Isa hummed a soft tune as she pushed her pajama pants down her legs and crawled into bed. She waited patiently for her husband to come out of the bathroom, and around fifteen minutes later, he did.
Isa lifted her eyes and smiled softly at him. He tried to smile back but it wasn’t working quite as he wanted it to, and it didn’t go unnoticed by her. Sighing softly, Isa opened her arms and gestured for him to come near.
“Come on, baby, talk to me,” she spoke softly as he settled in her arms. The physical tension within his body seemed to slip away as he basked in her embrace, but the mental turmoil was still present. “please?”
Angel twisted his lips. He was silent for a few moments, and while Isa didn’t say anything to further push him into spilling everything, he could tell she was waiting for him to lay it out on the table.
“Ever since I was a kid I just wanted to know what it was like to be the child everyone was proud of, y’know.” His voice was raspy and his words were slurred, partially from the overall fatigue he felt from battling the demons that returned to haunt him. “I wasn’t the smartest or the most athletic. I wasn’t EZ, to say the least.”
A pause.
“I love my brother, but I’d kill just to be in his shoes, just once. To be smiled at and not frowned upon. To be praised and not cursed. To be loved and not compared. I’ve always been second best to my brother in everything and,” he sighed into her clothed chest. “I’m tired, cariño. I just don’t know what it will take for me to be good enough for someone, for him.”
Isa’s lips turned into a frown as her fingers combed through his damp hair.
Angel practically worshipped his father, taking everything he said to heart, along with everything he did and didn’t do. Felipe was a good man and a good father, that was undeniable. But, to say he held both of his children on the same pedestal would be a lie not even the devil would spew.
Ezekiel was different from Angel, that was a given. They were two different people, but it was assumed by many that they’d have some similarities as they were brothers who grew up in the same household. Aside from possessing the same mannerism and ways of respect, they were as different as a thumb tack and a nail.
Ezekiel was driven in sports and dedicated to his education. He was the soon-to-be Ivy league attendee with a bright future ahead of him. Angel had the potential, but those things didn’t come as easily for him, and nobody pushed him the same way they pushed his little brother to be great. The neglect in those areas came to play out in his adult life. They manifested as demons who found joy in meddling with his sanity.
“I shouldn’t feel like this ‘cause I chose my path,” he mumbled. “just wonder how different things could’ve turned out. Wonder if I woulda thought I had more options. May then I’d have trophies and certificates to hang on his wall.”
Isa almost didn’t know what to say after hearing his confession. He’d teased about being the second best in his father’s eyes and how it really didn’t bother him, but now he confirmed all the things he cracked jokes about were puncturing his soul and he could no longer attempt to mend it all; his needle was dull and his thread was weak.
For Angel, time was a tortoise struggling to cross the finish line as he waited for some kind of response from her. “Say something, please...” he was begging for anyone to tell him that he was wrong, that despite everything, his mind was playing games and he was okay. That he was loved, adored, and found worthy of all the greatness that would gravitate towards him, even in the midst of chaos.
“You are more than enough, my love,” she said gently, caressing his back and shoulders with her warm hands. “even when it doesn’t feel like it...
“There’s no need for comparisons ‘cause as cliche as it sounds, it’s true that everybody is different and the differences make us unique. Yes, EZ is great, but you are too. You’re a leader, you handle business, you’re loving and caring, you’re driven and determined, you’re protective and a great friend and husband. I really don’t think words can express what you are to a lot of people, but just know, who you are right now is plenty for me.”
Moments like this were where he was the most grateful that he had the privilege to call her his wife. When he was in these funks, she never fussed (unless his attitude was off the charts) and she never fought with him. She was patient and understanding, always prepared to pull him back down to earth.
“I don’t know what the hell I did to deserve you, but I won’t question it,” Angel said, causing Isa to toss her head back and laugh.
“Mhm, be grateful for me,” she replied with a teasing smile. “now, get up real quick, I need to wrap my hair.”
Angel sat up slowly and removed his body from her grasp, but not before pressing a kiss filled with as much passion and love as he could muster, against her lips.
“I love you, cariño...”
She smiled against his lips. “I love you more...”

Cape Disappointment | Part One
Pairing: Miguel Galindo x Black!OC [Chantel Williams]
Summary: Miguel doesn’t rescue a damsel in distress because Chantel Williams is not a damsel in distress.
Warnings: None yet.
Tumblr media
Chantel Williams was a lot of things. Quirky, witty, sarcastic. Condescending, impulsive, sometimes even chaotic. She could be all those things and more, but she refused to be anyone’s victim.
“I’m not a damsel in distress. I’m not a damsel in distress…” She chanted over and over in a low tone.
On the side of a low traffic road, snow raining down on her head, Chantel willed the words to be true. Unfortunately, she remembered very little of what her Papa taught her about cars, eyeing the confusing parts under the hood with frustration.
Papa was a school teacher but he worked as a shade tree mechanic on the weekends to be able to afford dance classes for little Chantel. Teaching was his passion through and through. He would talk her ear off in the car on the way to recitals or while she did homework on the bench in his workshop. Being a bratty kid, she learned to tune him out when the topic didn’t interest her and not for the first time she regretted not soaking up more of Papa’s wisdom before he passed.
If she had, maybe she wouldn’t be stuck on the side of the road with no solution in mind. Empty handed and no closer to fixing the car, she shuffled through the snow. It wasn’t much warmer inside the car despite the thick North Face coat she wore with a matching hat and pair of gloves. She was sure she resembled a wet dog as she shook the snow off, not wanting the ice to melt into water droplets that would surely sting.
Just a week earlier, she’d splurged on the fanciest new smart phone after losing the older model at a dinner party. Even with all its promised features, it was useless. No signal and no nearby WiFi networks to connect to meant she couldn’t call her sort-of-sometimes boyfriend for help even if she wanted to. She couldn’t even call a tow truck!
Pride.
Another one of Chantel’s many traits. She liked to think of it as a positive thing. It kept her from being desperate, saved her from being dependent on others for her happiness. No one else seemed to agree her pride was a good thing.
Among the naysayers was her sort-of-sometimes boyfriend, Adam. Pride was what had led her to take off from the Yurt they shared on their week-long winter break getaway to race back to her industrial loft in the heart of Seattle despite the weather advisory. She would never admit it to anyone else, but she realized her pride didn’t always serve her well.
If not for her bruised ego, it would have been funny that her car had chosen to break down a few miles north of Cape Disappointment State Park. It was where she had been staying with Adam. The yurt was too far away to walk back to in the snow but still close enough that it only made sense to stay there for the night once the car issues were resolved. She wasn’t looking forward to ending the night with him.
Remembering Papa’s belief in God showing up when most needed, Chantel sent up a quick prayer. She really hoped she wouldn’t have to wait long for someone else to come down the otherwise deserted road. Winters in Washington were fairly mild so she wouldn’t lose her extremities to hypothermia or anything crazy like that, but she’d certainly suffer by way of the shivers.
Any sane person was cuddled up next to the fireplace in their cabin with a bowl of chili, or participating in heat-inducing sexual activities in their yurt to keep warm, not on the road driving. It was only natural for her thoughts to snowball into all the types of un-same people she could run into.
Indigenous women from Washington and Canada went missing far too often on roads just like the one she had so conveniently broken down on. Chantel had a bad habit of researching everything there was to know about topics when they peaked her interest and she knew too much about human trafficking in the area to not feel a considerable amount of fear.
“That would be my luck.” She muttered meanly to herself, resolving that whatever happened would be her own fault.
It wasn’t like a whole lot of people would come looking for her anyway. She had a large group of friends in Seattle, but she kind of had a reputation for taking off without saying much. She hadn’t even told anyone about the weekend excursion to Cape Disappointment! The family she had left she wasn’t close to, and by the time Adam realized she hadn’t made it back home it would be too late.
Yellow headlights bathed the narrow road, the light blinding her the closer it got. Her hazard lights blinked red, signaling that she was broken down, but Chantel second guessed whether she wanted the help.
“I’m going to be a sex trafficking victim all in the name of independence. Way to go, idiot.”
Her fingers fumbled around in the gigantic backpack she’d been using as a purse for the weekend, hastily pulling at the zippers until she found what she was looking for. A purple taser she purchased on Amazon for a whopping ten dollars. She doubted it would stop anyone in their tracks, but it was better than nothing.
It turned out the man who knocked on her window wasn’t an axe wielding serial murdering rapist, or at least he didn’t appear to be. She tucked the small device into her side as the ridiculously handsome middle aged man with a salt and pepper beard smiled at her through the foggy glass.
He looked harmless enough, sporting a pair of smart designer glasses and what Chantel knew to be a really expensive cashmere turtleneck sweater underneath an equally expensive Canada Goose coat. She wasn’t shy about looking him up and down as she assessed the risk. What if the male model was a decoy?
His neatly manicured eyebrows twisted down in confusion and she thought it was one of the cutest things she had ever seen.
She rolled down the window with a nervous smile.
“Hey.”
“Hi.”
She hated how breathy the words came out but he was truly stunning.
Tall, fit, well-dressed.
“Are you alright? It looks like you’re having some trouble.”
A gentleman.
“What would make you think that?” Chantel spoke before she thought it through, but the stranger didn’t seem to take offense if the amused smirk on his face could be trusted. “I’m kidding. Yeah, no. I’m not alright. The car was making weird noises so I pulled over and now it won’t turn back on. I looked under the hood but I have no idea what’s wrong.”
He nodded attentively while she spoke, watching her lips with interest. She noticed him staring and licked them.
“I don’t know how much of a help I’ll be.” His bronze skin reddened with the admission and she wondered if he was blushing or if the cold was getting to him. “I don’t know anything about cars but I can give you a ride wherever you want.”
She’d like a ride alright. In his cushiony truck that may as well have been a royal carriage considering the circumstances. Or on his handsome bearded face that she couldn’t stop staring at.
Chantel wondered if he could tell what she was thinking.
Movement caught her eye and she noticed an identical black SUV pulling off the road to park behind the one Prince Charming departed from. Her hand squeezed around the taser instinctively.
Was the sexy stranger bait to catch naive, unsuspecting girls?
“...but I’m sure we’d both rather leave it to the professionals.” He gestured back towards the dark truck and paused, noticing they weren’t alone. Her breath caught in her chest when four bulking men slammed their doors shut and started walking in their direction.
“I apologize. That’s my security team. I left without telling them.”
Hmm. A kindred spirit.
Who was he to have a security team? Was he telling the truth? Or just stalling?
She wanted to believe him. To trust that it was in human nature to help one another without some ulterior, sinister motive.
Did she even have a choice? How long would she have to wait on the next passerby? There was no guarantee they would be any better than the (so far) kind stranger and his friends.
Chantel Williams was a lot of things, but she was not naïve. With surprising coordination, she swung the door open, knocking the man back several steps. Her boots crunched as she landed in the snow.
“Back up or I’m going to tase you!” She warned, putting space between herself and the stranger while keeping an eye on the approaching men.
The corners of his mouth turned up as he fought back a smile.
Chantel scoffed. He wasn’t taking her seriously.
“I’m not fucking around!” She insisted, charging up the small device. The buzz felt more powerful than she remembered. The man seemed to think so too, changing his approach. He spoke in a soft tone. “Can we slow down?”
“Don’t patronize me. Just back up like I said. No, this way!” She ordered until he stood across from her with his back to his men.
Behind him, they speed up their approach but they could only move so fast in the snow. Following her gaze, the strange man looked over his shoulder and gestured for the men to stall at the front of his truck several feet away. One of them shouted at her to put the taser away from his position. He sported two braids and a cut in his brow. Chantel shouted back at him to ‘shut the fuck up’
Mr. GQ gave another signal and like he was the conductor of an orchestra, all noise ceased. Well, all external noise at least. Chantel swore she could hear the sound of her heart ringing in her ears.
“Hey!” He demanded her full attention. His hands were up in a defensive position. “What are you looking for here?”
It was a great question but she had no answer for him.
Trouble maker. Fire starter. Full-time agitator.
Chantel was that way even as a child, responding to normal adolescent teasing with violence. Sharp bites in the classroom or royal rumble style fights on the playground were her specialty in grade school. She made anyone stupid enough to provoke her regret it whether big or small, male or female. That wasn’t to say she was organized or calculating in her plans. She acted and dealt with things as they came.
She had no idea what the endgame was when she pulled the taser, but she had to stick with it. The crowd of onlookers made her feel more justified in her rash decision.
“I don’t think you really want to hurt me.”
“Now, what would make you think that?” Chantel asked incredulously. He didn’t know her from Eve.
She was even more steadfast in pointing the taser in his direction but he didn’t seem phased.
“When you want to hurt somebody, you don’t wait around or warn them. You just do it.”
“Are you suggesting I should’ve tased you?”
He shrugged as if they were discussing the weather.
“That certainly would have been more effective.”
Was he serious?
“I mean I still can. If you keep talking I just might.”
He had the gall to laugh in her face.
Hysterically.
And it wasn’t fleeting or sarcastic. It was genuine laughter from deep down in his gut. She hated how beautiful he was, even in the middle of showing blatant disrespect for her ability to harm him.
“Seriously?” She griped, fighting against the way her face muscles twitched.
Giggle box.
When somebody at church mispronounced a word during the announcements or when her aunt murdered a hit song, she giggled uncontrollably. Papa chastised her for it, but it couldn’t be helped. When the urge struck and she got that itch in her throat, she had to laugh.
So naturally, like two birds of a maniac feather they shared a laugh in four (and counting) inches of snow.

Savage
Tumblr media
Summary: Miguel Galindo’s wife accidentally shows off her new lingerie set to Nestor and other members of the security team. Inspired by @sheeshgivemeabreak head cannon of Miguel’s significant other being seen by Nestor in her lingerie.
Pairing: Miguel Galindo x Black!OC
Warnings: Some cringy use of the word savage, Miguel Galindo quoting Beyonce and Megan Thee Stallion, exhibitionism (sorta?), rough sex.
Word count: 2K+
Placing the Chanel #5 perfume on the vanity, Ava, leaned back to admire her handiwork.
Her normally big, thick hair had been pressed and curled to perfection, falling down into beautiful barrel curls past her shoulders. Long-lashed eyes blinked back at her in the mirror, glossy, pink lips gleaming despite the low lighting.
Ava’s eyes trailed down to her breasts, shifting and adjusting to make sure everything was perfect. A white lingerie set from Agent Provocateur’s latest line clung to soft curves. The set was see-through for the most part, exposing her chocolate nipples and brown mound. Lace frilled the edges of the bra cups and panties, completing the naughty angel look.
Satisfied, she turned from her reflection to strap on a pair of vintage designer heels, one of many gifts from her fiance, Miguel Galindo. She spared one final look at herself in the mirror before embarking on the mission to get her man in bed.
It wasn’t unheard of for him to spend long lengths of time in his personal study, the nature of his business called for it. Ava understood, but that didn’t mean she liked it. She tried to let him work uninterrupted for the most part, but sometimes he needed to be reminded of what was waiting for him in bed.
The short silk robe that covered her body did very little to preserve her modesty, so she was extra careful when scanning the hallway for bodies. Miguel normally kept his men off the second floor. It was hard for her to adjust to having someone watching her at all times, and this compromise did give her a small semblance of normalcy.
Confident no one would see her, she crept towards the office door, wanting to maintain the element of surprise. The two of them understood that she should know everything or nothing at all. Before getting married, they agreed on full disclosure. Still, Miguel didn’t want his two worlds completely fused together. Ava could tell he didn’t like her to be in the office, but she figured she would quickly be forgiven. As soon as the ties of her robe opened, Miguel would be focused on one thing.
Ava had seen Marcus leave earlier, it was rare that he did so. Being Miguel’s advisor meant he needed to be accessible 24/7, but everyone needed a break sometimes. For that reason, Ava was confident the two of them would be alone when she twisted the door knob and entered.
As soon as the door closed behind her, her fingers went to work at undoing the silk ties, and with a quick shrug Ava let gravity do the rest. Miguel’s head lifted from his papers in just enough time to watch it hit the ground, his mouth falling open, eyes widening in surprise.
Then movement to her right caused her to shriek and stumble back into the door. It was Ava’s turn for a surprise.
Her own mouth fell open in horror. To her right stood a stunned Nestor, who had previously been occupied with something on the bookshelf.
“Shit!”
All three of them seemed to curse at the same time. Nestor scrambled to cover his eyes, books raining down with a thud in his haste. Eventually, he managed to turn so his back was facing Ava. Miguel dropped the papers he had been holding, locking eyes with Ava, communicating without saying a word. Your ass is in big trouble, missy.
That tore her out of the shocked, frozen trance she had been in. She spun to open the door, her palms sweaty and clumsy, making the task ten times harder. Her heels clicked against the floor as she shuffled her feet impatiently. The tops of her ears burned, the thump of her heart sounding off within them.
The door opened, but not because of Ava’s doing. Hearing the scream and thump had caused the security team to run up the stairs.
“Shit!” She shrieked again, bending down to scoop up the silk robe. Her nipples pebbled against the thin fabric as the gust of air from the door swinging open hit her.
Nestor took that as his opportunity to make a dash for it, Miguel right behind him to slam the door in everyone’s face with a swear.
Harsh breathing were the only sounds to be heard on their side of the door, sounds of dress shoes clicking away on the other side.
Without a doubt, this was her most embarrassing moment. Ever.
The two of them stood there, Miguel’s hands above her head on the door, trapping her against it with his body as a gate. She tried in vain to calm herself and she was sure her man was trying to do the same. Waves of anger radiated off of him, and she knew there was an epic punishment coming her way.
“I-I’m sooo sorry, babe.” She apologized, slowly turning so she was facing him.
He reminded her of an angry bull in that moment-- full of rage with a clear (and easy) target in front of him. Unfortunately, she happened to be the target stupid enough to provoke him. His eyebrows pinched together, lips downturned in that dangerous scowl he usually reserved for employees that disappointed him. The dark look in his eyes told her to stop while she was ahead, but she felt the urge to break up some of the tension.
“I didn’t--” His hand rose, and there was no more room for explaining. She gnawed on her gloss covered bottom lip.
“You are without a doubt the most disobedient, infuriating person I’ve ever met. I deal with bikers, drug traffickers, hitmen, all kinds of fucking degenerates and yet no one manages to piss me off more than you.” His hand found its way back to her collarbone, tossing her hair back behind her shoulders.
“I give you everything. Try to treat you like the princess I know you can be, but you insist on being an insolent brat. I give you free reign of this house-- this fucking city, but you have to show up in the one place you shouldn’t. Why is that?” He leaned down to look in her eyes, fingertips ghosting over her neck until she shifted to stare up at him.
Miguel watched, fascinated as she transformed into the most demure version of herself, one she reserved for times like this when he was really angry. Her arms left her sides to lock around his neck, batting her eyelashes in hopes of a little mercy.
“Don’t act like a good girl now.” He scoffed, enjoying the closeness despite himself. He leaned in to nibble at her neck. “We both know you’re not.” She hisses at the sting, fire back in her eyes as if she was telling him she would bite back.
“You’re a bad bitch, right? A savage— or whatever that damn song you’re always singing says, right? So act like it.” He always acted as if he was annoyed by her mini-concerts, but she knew he was secretly her biggest fan. She bit the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing out loud. He didn’t allow her amusement to distract him. “Get on your knees. Now.”
Back in submissive character, she dropped to her knees.
“Now you listen.” He tsks, hands moving to unbuckle his pants. “Probably because you think there’s something in it for you. Sucking cock is your favorite pastime. Isn’t that right, sucia? You get off on being on your knees but I can promise you, this isn’t for your pleasure.”
Ava tried her best to look disappointed. No matter what he said, there absolutely was something in it for her. They both knew it. She resisted the urge to help him undress and instead watched him, resting her weight on the backs of her legs. He finally stepped out of his dress pants and underwear, tossing them to the side.
He stood in front of her, stroking his thick cock in her face. Her eyes watched him stroke, back and forth, milking it until precum puddled around the tip. She leaned forward, her lips puckered to give it a kiss, only to be pushed back into position.
Ava gave him a cross look. “Don’t look at me like that. You don’t decide. I do. It’s time you learned that.” She felt hypnotized as he continued to pump his hard dick. She felt like a puppy, eager, desperately wanting to drool and wag her tongue. Her eyes darted back and forth between his beautiful brown dick and his face, squirming and shifting her knees.
“Open your mouth.” She presented her long, pink tongue to him.
He teased her with the tip at the opening of her mouth, tapping it on her tongue. She begged him with her eyes to continue.
“Take it as deep as you can.” He used that firm tone that always made her pussy throb, the fat tip invading her mouth. She sighed in relief, her tongue softly massaging the bottom of his dick as she struggled to take it all with no build-up. When he hit the back of her throat, her eyes closed, concentrating on controlling her gag reflex.
He withdrew from her mouth, causing her eyes to snap open. “Look at me while you suck my dick.” Ava nodded in understanding, letting the storm brewing in his eyes egg her on. She let him feed her dick, her eyes trained on his.
More often than not, Miguel was soft with her. She was always mi amor or bebita, perched in his lap while he read the newspaper or holding his hand across the table while they breakfast. He loved to shower her with expensive gifts and lavish trips. In return, she was his oasis. She navigated the duality of her complex man with grace, always managing to be exactly what he needed. Still, she lived for the moments where she could get under his skin.
He groaned as he watched her gag around his dick, water welling up in her pretty eyes. She pushed herself further, thick lips moving up and down his length. Her face alone could do him in-- but the looks she gave, the sounds she made, the way she expressed her love all over his dick had him ready to melt. He could barely breathe from trying to hold his moans in, stroking the top of her head with affection.
Her hands went up to rest on the tops of his legs as she throated him to the best of her ability, moaning and making it as wet as she could. Tasting him, breathing him in, swallowing him, and looking at him all at once overwhelmed her. Her panties flooded, eyes fluttering closed again.
She heard the sound ricocheting off her ass before she felt the sting, hands going back soothe her ass cheek with a whimper. Her mouth fell open in surprise.
“Did I tell you to close your eyes?”
“No, sir.”
Miguel’s hand gripped her neck firmly.
“Did I tell you to take my dick out of your mouth?”
Another negative. “No--”
“You can’t do anything right.” Her eyebrows pulled together, lips falling into a pout. “Don’t worry, princesa, I’ll do it for you.”
He guided her by the neck, pushing her back towards the door, reaching down to pull her legs from under her, so her head could rest flush against it. The only way his dick would leave her mouth would be if he took it out.
He used her mouth like a pussy, pumping in and out to soothe his temper. Ava was sure to maintain eye contact this time, even as spit dribbled out of her mouth onto his dick and down her chin. Down it went and Miguel didn’t let up, watching it spill between the valley of her breasts.
She tracked his eyes, reaching up to pull down her bra straps to free her breasts. He could see the mischief in her eyes as she jiggled them at him.
He slapped her hands away with a grunt, replacing them with his own. He tugged on each nipple, loving the feeling of her moaning around his dick.
Her drenched panties clung uncomfortably to her womanhood. She needed him to take his frustration out on her pussy next.
Tears spilled from the corners of her eyes, but she refused to look away, telling him with her eyes how much she wanted his release. I want that big load so bad. Come all down my throat, daddy. Feed your princess.
Miguel cursed under his breath, thrusts faltering as he looked up to the ceiling. Relishing in his moment of weakness, she hummed around his length. “Fuck…” He pulled out immediately. “Get up.” He grabbed her up by her shoulders, spinning her so she faced the door.
He clawed at her panties like a lion with its prey. The mushroom tip poked at her entrance, further coating the tip in the moisture. “You’re so fucking wet.” He slid himself between her fat lips, trying to prepare himself before he came prematurely.
Ava jumped forward when his tip met her clit. “Stop moving.” He hissed as she rocked back against him, begging to be put out of her misery. His hand rained down smacks in retaliation.
She tired, but couldn’t stop her wiggling, desperately needing relief. She felt near tears. “Please.” She whined.
With a forceful thrust in, he knocked the wind out of her, giving her no time to adjust. “So fucking hardheaded.” Ava bit her lip, turning to look at him only to find his eyes focused on her ass, watching it ripple with each thrust in.
“Fuck me.” She whimpered, using the door for leverage to push back against him. Ava fucked him the way he liked, making it nasty while looking at him innocently. “I’m sorry for being bad, daddy. I wanna be your good girl again. I wanna be daddy’s princess--” His hand came up to cover her mouth, silencing her before she made him bust.
“Shut. Up.” He breathed harshly, whispering dirty words in her ear. “Just do your job and fuck me. Shake that fat ass.” No, you do your job and fuck me. She couldn’t talk so she licked the palm of his hand in retaliation.
He rained down slaps on her ass until he could see a red undertone on her brown skin.
She wailed his name and he did his best to muffle her screams, but there was no doubt everyone in the house knew what they were up to.
“You want everyone to hear you being a desperate slut?” He pounded into her, no longer caring about the sound of her hips thudding against the door. “You’re the most cock-hungry bitch I ever met. You don’t care who knows as long as I pound you the way you like, baby?”
She tried to deny his accusation, shaking her head. There was always someone around to watch their backs so being heard and occasionally walked in on didn’t bother either of them much.
But men that worked for Miguel, amongst them his very best friend had seen his wife practically naked. He poured his anger into every stroke, pulling on her hair until it rested on his shoulder. His fingers snaked down to massage her soaking clit, sending her over the edge.
“Fuckkkkkkkkkk.” She cried out as he continued his assault, more frenzied than ever in his movements. Her legs shook as she tried to remain upright, her pussy walls clenching and pulling him in even deeper.
“Fuckkkk.” He groaned his own release, strokes slowing as he filled her pussy.
Ava’s head fell forward out of exhaustion but before she could lose her balance, his arms wrapped around her midsection. He pulled her into him, peppering kisses on her neck, behind her ear, and finally in her fruity smelling hair.
Even as he held her up soothing her, Ava worried he would hold onto his anger as he sometimes did because of pride. Her worries dissipated when he spoke.
“I’m definitely the savage in the relationship.”
