I recently witnessed someone on twitter with the spicy but interesting position of: the only people vehemently bitching against 2D puppets are the animators who have to use them. So, what's the tea, why's this debate even a thing, and is one side wrong?
Rigged 2D animation, also known as puppet animation, and prolly other terms I'm not aware of. Most 2D animators I know treat it with disdain as something they're forced to work on to survive instead of "real" animation (=hand drawn in this case), and while I've encountered less negative sentiments towards the medium coming from fans, I have seen several people complain about it unknowingly, correctly nailing visual aspects they don't like without knowing their cause. Additionally, it can be really hard to tell apart what's rigged and what's hand drawn in 2D, with many series mixing both to their advantage.
The reason for rigged stuff being so prevalent is that it's cheaper and faster. Where hand drawn requires redrawing your entire character/thing frame by frame to make it move, puppet animation uses, well, puppets, ready-made articulated models you just need to pose. It's also possible to use interpolation - instead of deciding by hand every image between two poses, you let the computer calculate it and come later to tweak how each part moves to make it look good. There is little to no drawing involved in rigged 2D, asides of rare shots that need a little part drawn over when the puppet can't do something specific, or drawing the eyes/mouths/hands/etc when you're making the puppets themselves. Notice I said series and not films in my previous paragraph - this is because animations with longer runtimes and/or shorter production times benefit strongly from this medium. You will not need to clean, to inbetween, to color and whatever other steps can go in hand drawn 2D when you have puppets. You can use the interpolations to your advantage on some movements. It's near impossible to be off model. You don't even need to draw!
And most animators uh, they're here because they like to draw. You can say animating and drawing are two different things, that is true, I've even heard it from the mouth of an insanely talented hand drawn animator called Liane-Cho Han who described himself as a poor drawer despite an impressive 2D portfolio. Poor drawer, good animator, it blew my mind at the time but when I started animating I understood what he meant. But puppet animation is still animation, and much closer to how 3D animation works, with stop-motion being comparable to hand drawn in terms of difference between these mediums. Yet you don't see industry-spanning bitching about 3D vs stop motion! This leads to my next point: puppets are limiting.
One of the advantages of hand drawn animation compared with other animation techniques especially those using character rigs is that you're not limited to said rigs. You can just draw anything, regardless of digital puppet constraints, of art style, of physics. If you can put it on paper, you can animate it. Puppets, both 3D and 2D, have limitations - the art needs to be made (sculpt, drawings) and be placed on a complex invisible digital skeleton allowing you to correctly manipulate your character, which is a job in itself. The more stuff you want your character to be able to do, the more complex it gets. You can't automate all of it. This means productions with lower budget and/or ambitions will tend to have simpler rigs which allow less. An example is angles: when you're hand drawing a character and want to pose them, you can pick whatever angle you'd like for all body parts. Rigs might not give this as an option, especially subtler angles of the head and foreshortening. This might make some movements you had in mind impossible, with a need to stylize your poses and your breakdowns. Not being able to have these angles can make for animation that looks stiff or awkward and can be very annoying to work with depending on the animator.
That artificial stiffness is to me, one of the telling signs something is rigged, and part of the reasons I don't like it myself! That's right, I'm with the haters here. Except stiffness doesn't necessarily mean something used digital rigs, and stiffness isn't inherently a bad thing - as with all art styles, it can just be that, a stylistic choice. Enters a director who's work I'll use as a counter example to the dislike of 2D puppets, both from an animator's and a hater layman's point of view on the results: Michel Ocelot.
Famous in France and way less internationally, two staples of his work are his fixations on fairytales and Africa. Fittingly, his most famous movie is probably Kirikou, a feature film which mixes both. Ocelot's work is stylized in a way unique to him, which can make his work very repetitive, but also makes it instantly recognizable. Some of his staples include static shot compositions, actors that talk like they're reading their lines out of an old book, busy backgrounds and folk tale tropes. Stiffness is just a part of what his movies look like, as are art styles that take inspiration from traditional art and past periods. He started out working before digital puppets were a thing, and while he's embraced digital techniques, releasing a full CG feature film in the 00s before it was the norm, he has worked without, including on Kirikou which is animated the old way.
The earliest of his films I've seen is called Princes and Princesses, it's already got everything typical of his work, and one of the latest of his films I've seen (and among my personal favorites of everything he's done) is called Black Pharaoh, and while decades and different techniques separate these two, they're both based around, you guessed it, puppets. P&P is a blatant hommage/reference to animation pioneer Lotte Reiniger, who used literal paper puppets to animate fantasy movies who's style is very reminiscent of the graceful, slightly simplified illustrations popular at the time. Black Pharaoh uses digital 2D puppets and is entirely animated using the (meticulously researched) style of ancient egyptian wall paintings. Both of these films tell a story, not like movies usually do, but like an orator retelling a tale does. And it works! The characters don't move in a 3D space, but it doesn't matter, they're from a fresco or are paper. The character's don't move realistically and it doesn't matter either, they're not trying to trick your eyes into looking real, they're characters of a story. Ocelot's films are a case where using puppets and their limitations works in favor of the film, not otherwise, and his stuff that's not made with puppets looks like it could be.
I'll briefly talk about a film I hate here to make the final point before my conclusion, netflix's Klaus. This is a film who's insanely impressive animation has floored people regardless of how much they know about animating. Unlike a lot of "this looks very cool" (actually p easy to make) animations you see going viral online, here everyone's right, it is indeed insanely hard to animate like that. Klaus was hailed because of it's uncanny ability to look like modern CG while being entirely hand drawn, which I think is stupid, because it's a lot of effort and talent wasted for a result that looks incredibly generic. Would this film have been bad if it had used CG? Why do people think hand drawn is better than CG in the first place? That I can't answer but the reason studios use it is money: either because it's trendy and will make more money because it's trendy, or because it's cheaper to make, which depends on what you're trying to achieve. In the end, they're techniques. Techniques have pros and cons and things they're better at than others. Time and money are essential to producing a film wether you like it or not.
So: are people wrong to hate on puppets? Nah, it's a question of taste. You can hate the look a technique gives and that's fine. But "ugly" is subjective and it's important to be aware of that if critiquing stuff is your job.
Was that tweet right? Yeah, pretty much, lol. For many if not most animators it's a technique they're forced to use, that removes a major reason they like their job from said job, and can be frustrating to work with. It's worth noting a lot of the work you'll get nowadays is on cheap productions, and the techniques they'll use most will be associated with the slop they are. Doesn't mean you'll inherently make slop. A technique is just that, a technique.

So I did the Funguary challenge from @feefal and I kind of turned the angel wing mushroom into an entire oc.(btw I know this isn’t my best work and the colors are dirty - I’m planning to redraw this digitally)
Her name is celestie (celeste -y) and they are the child of an angel. Celestie fell in love with a demon (who I will draw later next week) and because of that, she was cursed to grow mushrooms. (like reverse hanahaki but not lethal-just shameful) they use their wings to hide the mushrooms from their mother who would not be so happy if she found out.
Had so much fun with this so I might make a few more + a demon mushroom next week!

Writing Update: Creative Corner April 2023
Welcome back to “Writing Updates”, which I’m thinking of renaming to Creative Corner, but uh we’ll see! (I tend to go back and forth on these things😅) My thought process is that instead of doing the “Good News/Bad News” format I’ve done in the past, I’m going to do a “Writing Corner” and an “Art Corner” instead. I’ll try it out and see how I feel about it. Anyway, let’s get on with the news!
TL:DR Version: I’m taking this month off…kind of. Last month was busy, but really fun!😁 This month was busy, but uh, not at all fun…long story.😅 Anyway, so no new one-shots this month. However! I did find some RenRuki fluff drabbles that I think you all might like, so I put them together in their own series. They’re perfect for a rainy day when you just want to feel good!🥰 They should be out later this month!
Read on if you want the long version:
Writing Corner:
*Sighs heavily* Alright, I’m gonna be honest, this month sucked. Between burnout, family stuff, and depression, I barely wrote at all. I have a nearly completed piece that I could try to rush edit and finish in time, and would at least come out okay. But I thought about it, and realized that while I do like the piece, it’s not at all what I felt like reading right now. I don’t read a “hurt/comfort with a bit of angst” piece when I’m sad, I read fluff, lots of fluff. In fact, I had a google doc with a couple of fluff scraps that didn’t fit anywhere else that I would sometimes go back to and read whenever I was sad just because it made me feel good. And then I thought, what if this month was bad for other people too? Would these pieces make them feel good? So I’ve decided to release these instead in a brand new collection I’m going to call “Soft Moments”. Admittedly, they are more like eating a sugary sweet dessert than having a hearty protein filled one-shot meal, but that’s exactly what they are for! They are there for people who need to read something nice on a hard day. Anyway, they aren’t exactly a one-shot, so that’s why I decided to put them in their own collection, rather than adding them to “We Can’t All Be Winners”. In the end, I’ve decided to release the “hurt/comfort” piece another time. This also works out well for my new (ever changing😅) schedule for WCABW, where I am going to do 3 months on, 1 off, 3 on, and so forth!
Art Corner: While I haven’t done much writing this month, I have gone back to my roots on this blog somewhat and started working on comics again. If you saw one of my earlier posts, you will know that I’m taking a crack at human based comics. They…are absolutely not proportional. But um…variety is the spice of life, right?!?! Anyway, hopefully they will at least be funny, but uh, we’ll see! That said, I'm thinking of eventually switching to digital art so that I don’t have to redraw backgrounds and unmoving characters, but that requires me to figure out how to draw with photoshop on my mini touch screen laptop so uh…………..
Bloodlines Corner (because let’s be honest, it gets its own spot at this point):
Me: *glares to some far off corner in my google docs* You do realize it’s been months now, right?
Bloodlines: *shrugs innocently*
So I’ve realized I haven’t actually explained the premise of this story to most people on this blog, so here we go. Originally, Bloodlines was a one-shot in its own series of one-shots based on the idea of “What would happen if Rukia got Hisana’s illness?” However, I realized that I hadn’t really thought it out well enough for an entire series. So then I was going to make it a one off one-shot in a series of one off one shots, thus spawning WCABW. However, it clearly needed more editing, so I decided to release “prestigious school au” instead. Fast forward several months and not only am I still editing it, but that one-shot turned first into a multi-part and eventually a multi-chapter fic, all the while the events of the story still staying within the same time period, and therefore taking place over the course of one day. It is… utterly ridiculous.
So anyway, it’s pretty long now, (well for me anyway, it’s almost 30 pages), which makes it take forever to edit. Unfortunately, I think that has caused the back chapters to suffer a bit, because for some reason I always prefer to edit things in order, so by the time I get to the end I’m pretty mentally exhausted. Therefore, I’ve decided to divide it up by only editing one chapter a day to make it easier on myself. Hopefully this will work out, and I can have it out by like August or something, but we will see! (Not being done until December is unfortunately still probable! 😅)
*Sigh* Welp, this has gotten long, but this month has been even longer so I guess it’s appropriate. In any case, thank you all for reading! The new fluff-filled anthology series should be out by the end of the month. Like I said earlier, it’s more like having dessert than dinner, but sometimes that's just what you need! See you all next month! 😊

Hi hello from here as well. I would like to talk in depth about this chapter from my personal account. But before that, I would like for everyone to give a digital hug to @karereiko. Basically, when this chapter released I was in the middle of exams and then I literally went to study abroad just when they finished. This gave me little time to do the redraws. Kare decided to do all of them for this chapter and I'm very grateful to her. The redraws weren't easy at all. Please support her. I would also like to congratulate the rest of the team! You pulled this off, I'm so incredibly proud of you! There was so much text and it certainly didn't help that in some parts it kept repeating itself. Despite our busy schedules and timezones hell we made it. I cannot be happier to be a member of this team. They are some of the kindest and funniest people I know (and the most chaotic of course).
Now I will be talking about chapter 16. I advise you to read that chapter, before reading what I have to say about it
This chapter has a special place in my heart. Even though I'm not the HUGEST fan of this arc, this chapter in my opinion is the best from all the chapters of this spin-off. Before we released it, we checked it to see if there are any mistakes. I was one of the people that checked it. It was my first time reading it, seeing all the details etc. By the end of my reading, I noticed that I had tears in my eyes. Now this might sound a bit dramatic to you, and you might not necessarily feel the same after reading this chapter, it really depends on the person, but I was truly moved. I started feeling emotional at the father-daughter reunion. Images were stronger and louder than words. We have the father who is clenching his fist upon seeing his daughter. He has a resolution. He is determined not to give away his identity, even though a piece of it had slipped after he said his daughter's name out loud. The more he listens to his daughter, the more his resolution crumbles, as his fist is now trembling. It's a dilema. Does he embrace his daughter or does he just move on? After all, the whole reason he's doing this is to protect her. In the end though, he can't do it. Even if it's just for a moment, even though he believes this can't be his reality for much longer, he decides to go for it and embraces his daughter. Even though he is covered in bandages, you can see his facial expression. He is happy, he is relieved that his daughter is doing well and you can tell that he has missed her a lot, even without the words "I've missed you".
Later on we see William smiling, as his actions have brought a family back together and it's a bit funny but wholesome that he notices that Albert has noticed his smile. Also I'm not 100% sure about this, but I believe that this, chronologically, is close to the final problem (it surely hasn't been set to motion), so it's a rare sight to see William genuinely smile at that point.
The next thing I want to include is Albert's reaction reading that diary. It's so funny to me. So many braincells were lost XD
I love how Louis reaffirms William's existence. And it feels like a full cycle. In the past William was the one that reaffirmed Louis of his existence, but now it's Louis that does it. It matters that the photo has been cut in a way that William's face cannot be seen.
Finally just as Kare said, in the final panel, William realizes that he has done some good for this world as well. When I saw the panel, where the Burton family have a child, I was incredibly moved. I don't know, but it just hit differently.
As much as I would like to talk even more about it, I'm with 1 hour of sleep and so my brain has reached its limit XD
We are currently working on the omake And remember to always intentionally exude calmness!
Moriarty the Patriot: The Remains Chapter 16 - English Translation
Greetings, this is Stef!
We would like to thank the Reddit user AdventurousLock4614 for announcing the release of our fan translation for chapter 16!
To be honest, lately has been really busy and that is also why it took us more time to finish the translation. Plus timezones don't help at all. But finally it's here!
We hope you all enjoy this chapter. And remember to always intentionally exude calmness!

do you know if the mp100 fandom ever experienced leaked audio/screenshots of episodes before they air? i got into the show not too long ago so i wouldnt know since we're in hiatus period right now;;
Nothing that I ever saw sadly(?). Mob psycho was fanbase-wise a very small manga that saw only a Japanese digital release through MangaONE followed by ONE taking a bunch of these chapters, redrawing some panels & compiling them into physical volumes, then much later on these volumes get licensed for a overseas/translated release. That made leaking basically impossible. Compare to AoT which has a huuuge following both in country and overseas, which is why it dealt with such a huge leak issue (I’ve never read AoT but as far as I saw the physical Korean versions of the final chapter(s) of it got released earlier than the Japanese release did, this kind of thing is typically how a manga “leak” happens)
In terms of the anime the closest thing we have experienced so far to leaks is “controlled” leaks, ie. a voice actor dropping hints as to what might happen next in an interview. When the S2 OVA saw an early event release in July 2019 a few months before the rest of us got to see it, some fans who saw it created spoiler threads that I compiled and translated at that time. Nobody leaked pictures or video. Warner Brothers then dropped some low-res pics of the box art on their product website, which gave us around 5 caps of the OVA
in short: too niche for mega leaks. the manga was released in a way that was leak proof, the anime has seen tiny leaks as described but nothing massive

Do you have any tips on fighting art block, I haven’t drawn anything in a while and want to but don’t know what to draw
I have a few that I use yeah! First rule of thumb, The first two or three things you draw while trying to get out of artblock are most likely not going to become finished pieces, this is OKAY and ENCOURAGED, Think of it as warm-ups to ease yourself back into it! Artblock tends to happen because we set too many expectations upon ourselves or find a way to subconsciously wall ourselves off from drawing from anxiety, which also tends to block out all the ideas
Number one way, do some little warm-up exercises!
The first thing I always recommend to anyone is to draw some blobs! No really hear me out, pick an animal —personally I usually go for snakes or cats— and, if you’re on traditional do some contour lines and make some blob shapes, if you’re on digital set your brush size really high and make some blobs that look VAGUELY like your animal, than without doing any erasing, add some little details or eyes to make it look more like it’s animal, you can add to the shape— other colors, tails, ears etc— but the main rule of thumb here is NO ERASING, Filling up a sheet with them and making it simple helps you ease back into it and warms up your drawing muscles
Another one I recommend is grabbing a reference and just vaguely sketching it out, you’ll see this one repeated no matter who you ask about art block, some will say do gesture drawing, some will say do contour practice, honestly it’s whatever fits your bill. Practice some hands, doodle some random faces, grab an object and draw it in a stylized way, this doesn’t only help you practice but it can also give you some ideas for future projects, or to just turn the sketch into your favorite character lol
This one includes a little bit of mental prep but honestly? Save. Every. Sketch. Even if you make/look at it during artblock and say ‘wow I hate this’ you SAVE IT, your concepts are still good, your brain is just telling you that you can’t make it work, and yeah some of the sketches aren’t gonna be anywhere near pretty but that’s the POINT! You don’t have to work on one picture the entire time you can bounce between multiple depending on where you feel you’re most comfortable each day, and you don’t have to use every sketch as your basis but your concepts are what make your art yours, getting rid of it and only having the things that you’ve finished will give you unrealistic expectations to keep OUTSHINING them every time and set up more of a wall for yourself in the long run
This one’s a bit more specific but, character design! This is the one I use the most besides the blobs, make a creature! Grab a generator and fuse some animals together, make a fake pokemon outta it or make a new hybrid altogether, don’t worry about how realistic it is the important part of this one is the thought process, you don’t have to use it in the future you just need to make it for now, it definitely helps get your gears turning while still keeping it generally non-stressful. Grab a random mood board and make a character design out of it, take a theme (steampunk, robot, alien, clockmaker, etc) and apply it to something mundane, like coins,or pens, or book covers! Or, of course, fashion! Purposefully make the most deviantart neon edgy OC possible! Turn your main brain off and just have as much fun with it as you can, you don’t have to post it you don’t even have to show it to anyone else
A lot of artblock is about shifting your gears or changing perspectives of what you create to feel good about it again, like I said before a huge part of artblock is feeling like your art isn’t ‘good enough’ or feeling like you’ve run dry on ideas, or just pure unfiltered stress. The biggest thing you can do is to start small again, draw like a kid, don’t let your thoughts about anatomy or critiques stop you, and you’ll find yourself starting to warm back up to your own creations. At the end of the day if it’s just causing you a lot of stress trying to break through art block the best thing for you might be to actually step back and give yourself a break, and come back later.
The best part of art is you can literally do whatever you want, draw something cursed, redraw a meme, draw Frosty the snowman saying ‘fuck’, play with colors, draw something cute as scary as you can or vice versa, draw a mushroom, make up a new kind of animal or plant, draw yourself as if you were in your favorite media’s, the best way to go is to let go of all the ‘cringe culture’ mentality and just go as apeshit as possible

This is not a positivity post. I put it all under a cut so you can easily skip it and used the dndads negativity tag even though I’m not 100% sure whether this is the kind of thing that is supposed to be there.  If you aren’t interested in hearing me talk about content warnings and/or problems with them, please go enjoy some more cool art and discussions instead of reading this. It’s all under a cut - very skippable!
As payment for your time, here is a pic of Glenn being a good dad to Nick, who had a nightmare and was in the living room watching movies a bit too loud so that someone would wake up and keep him company. It worked and now he fell back asleep. Those Close boys, forever in my heart.
Tumblr media
[ID: A digital drawing of two people on a couch in a darkened living room. One is an Asian man with long dark hair, tattoos, a bracelet in Philadelphia pride flag colors, and a red shirt that says “Blessed Grandma.” He is looking affectionately at the other person. The other person is a kid with shorter dark hair with a red streak, a bracelet in trans pride colors, and a blue shirt that says “University of California Santa Barbara.” He is asleep and leaning on the first person. Both have black-painted fingernails. The light bouncing onto them suggests that they are in front of a TV. In the background is a potted plant, a family photo (a sloppy background redraw I did based on a very beautiful commission from Nat) and a bookshelf with books and a framed photo. /end ID] The very gently-phrased TLDR:  Enjoy their story all you want, they’re very funny and the characters are wild, but if you’re recommending the show to someone who might count on content warnings, maybe mention that the CWs on this show aren’t particularly reliable.
(Okay, first up? I understand that some people are really sick of hearing criticism of the show and/or the cast. I hope I’ve taken enough steps to keep this out of people’s faces if they don’t want to engage with this. I also hope that people will remember that I’m not, like, Monarch of La Resistance and signing off on every post by anyone critical of the show with my feathered ink quill before it goes out into the world. There are various people out there with various concerns and various ways of approaching how they communicate about it. We’re not in charge of each other, we don’t all agree with each other, and many of us don’t even know each other.)  I’ve been thinking about the recent content warning failure to tag Willy’s verbal abuse in episode 48. Now, we know that multiple people were affected by this, but I’m specifically thinking of one person and how their problem was handled. I’ll call them D (they/them), and in full disclosure, they’re a friend of a friend but I have not spoken to them personally.  Redacted screenshots and image descriptions of them are provided at the end of this post, but it’s so many words that I feel like I’ll lose people if I start with them. So here’s the summary version:
- Episode 48 had content warnings that did not initially include verbal abuse. Multiple people, including D, were caught off guard by the verbal abuse and consequently experienced panic attacks.  - D reached out to request that the verbal abuse get tagged (as mentioned in their Reddit post) and didn’t get a response. I’m not sure from context whether this was a modmail, a DM to someone, an e-mail, or what. - D turned to the official dndads Patreon discord show-discussion channel after giving up on contact method 1 and mentioned it again, to which they got some sad reacts, including from a mod, but no other response. - 2.5 hours later, D mentioned it in the discord again and got "they’ve been added to the description after a couple of people had suggested them. seriously sorry about the delay in adding them” from a different mod. (Not the mod’s job or their fault, I should note.) - The episode description was updated the same day to include verbal abuse, but the website was not. Someone on the Patreon discord messaged Freddie directly on December 9th and pointed out that the CWs were still incomplete on the website. They did not receive a reply from him, but the website was eventually updated sometime on December 10th. - A week later, someone had a question on the official subreddit about the verbal abuse moment in episode 48 and how others reacted. D responded with their experience, including “[...] the verbal abuse tag was not there when the episode was first posted. I read the tags, because I know that I need to. That tag was NOT there. So I requested it. No one responded to me, so I turned to discord. By the time the discord members responded to me, the tag had been edited in. Suddenly, I'm the asshole in everyone's eyes because they see someone who didn't do their due diligence” and “I did not feel one single modicum of support from this community. I thought that since OP's question addressed the exact moment that made me cancel my sub that I would affirm for them that it was distressing for me too. I hope my contribution helped them feel seen and heard. I had hoped that if my contribution inspired a response, that I might feel seen or heard too. Maybe next time.”
Tumblr media
[ID: A digital drawing of a skeptical-looking woman with dark curly hair with red highlights, a red dress, red lipstick, and medium-dark skin. Even though she’s supposed to be Erin O’Neill, she’s not wearing a witch hat, for the simple reason that I hate drawing them. /end ID] And here come more words, because I have thoughts...
As people have probably picked up, I have PTSD, I work in the health field, I specialize in disability and mental health, and I care about content warnings. I also think dndads fans tend to be very funny, clever, talented, and kind, and I still hang out with a lot of them. That’s why I still hear about this stuff despite no longer listening to the show. I waited most of a month to see what would happen. Would there be an apology to D, besides from that mod? An acknowledgment that there had been a problem with the episode 48 content warnings? A statement about their plans to keep this from happening again? Nope. Nothing.
Let me try to get out ahead of the arguments that seem to get brought up when things like this happen.
A. Well, maybe they didn’t know it happened.
You would have to convince me that all five members of the cast, plus their community manager, don’t read the show discussion on their official discord or their official subreddit closely enough to find any of the posts about this, and that whatever initial contact method D used was somehow defunct. Also defunct, to support this explanation? Freddie’s DMs.
Somebody fixed the episode description and, later, somebody fixed the website. Pretty clear that somebody on the team got the message.
B. It’s not their job to tag for everything.
Of course it isn’t. For instance, I have a weird trauma response to seeing fish flopping around out of water (it’s a long story and fortunately thanks to medication and therapy, is much more manageable). It’s a very specific and unusual trigger, and I don’t expect shows to tag for it, I just kinda keep my head on a swivel.
But Willy being verbally abusive is the first thing they ever decided to warn people about. They warned about Willy before they did any other warnings, way back in February. Willy’s ability to cause fear with his words is so built into this story that it’s literally one of Ron’s casting abilities. If there’s one thing that you would expect to be tagged, it’s Willy being verbally abusive. And then they added the tag later, so yeah, they know it should have been in there. They didn’t tag for a thing they usually tag for. This is just a fuck-up, plain and simple.
C. People are always mad about stuff/maybe if somebody had asked more nicely/if they had asked differently.
D never touched discourse or said anything negative to or about the cast or story. They were doing due diligence by reading the content warnings before enjoying the show, and they got badly harmed because they trusted the show’s content warnings. They sent multiple politely-worded messages on multiple platforms before they became frustrated and bitter about how the situation was handled. If you insist on a perfect plaintiff before considering critique of the show, I don’t know what more you would want here.  D. But they did fix it, eventually.
1. The system for figuring out content warnings can’t be based on how Calvin’s dad says bridge load limits work. D didn’t volunteer for that, nor did any other abuse survivors.
Tumblr media
[ID: A Calvin and Hobbes comic by Bill Watterson, in black and white.  First panel: A car approaches a bridge. A sign says “Load Limit 10 Tons.” Inside the car, someone asks, “How do they know the load limit on bridges, Dad?” Second panel: The dad replies cheerfully, “They drive bigger and bigger trucks over the bridge until it breaks.” Third panel: The dad continues, smiling, “Then they weigh the last truck and rebuild the bridge.” Fourth panel: Calvin, in the backseat, says, “Oh. I should’ve guessed.” His mother, angry, says, “Dear, if you don’t know the answer, just tell him!  /end ID] 2. Fixing it without mentioning anywhere that it had needed to be fixed left people, including D, looking like (in their words) “the asshole.” D is not the only one who felt like they had to defend that they did check the content warnings and that verbal abuse had not initially been included. You know what’s fun, when you’re having a trauma response? Being put in a situation where it looks like it’s your fault, and doubting yourself because the thing that hurt you isn’t there anymore and there’s no evidence that it ever was.  E. This was a mistake, yes, but they will do better moving forward.  1. They didn’t apologize or do better moving forward after they tagged for child harm in one episode and then didn’t tag it in the following episode when a kid full-on (if temporarily) died, so I find this pretty optimistic.  2. It’s been most of a month since this specific incident and they haven’t acknowledged it, apologized, or mentioned a plan for doing better.  F. So I guess they just shouldn’t do content warnings at all, since they can’t do them to your finicky standards.  Nope, I think content warnings are a great idea, and are especially necessary for a show like dndads that wants to engage with heavy stuff like intergenerational trauma and child abuse. However, I think it’s pretty obvious that doing them poorly is even more harmful than not doing them at all. To be clear, if the solution to half-assing something important and being called out on it is to conclude that you shouldn’t do the important thing at all instead of doing it better, you do not actually think it is important. It’s like the peanut allergy thing. If you have a peanut allergy and you go to a bake sale full of homemade goods, you know that you have to ask questions and be cautious and maybe steer clear entirely, because this is just amateur bakers who may not know how to help you stay safe. But if you buy a candy bar from the store that says “This food may contain or have come in contact with soy, eggs, or dairy products,” then you would reasonably conclude that peanuts aren’t on that list because they’re not in the candy bar. If there were peanuts anyway, despite that label, and you had an allergic reaction, you would be justifiably unhappy.  G. Don’t just complain without offering solutions.  So here’s one where my solutions credentials are pretty solid, given that I did begin to coordinate a volunteer-based content warning system back in June of last year. Although I hadn’t intended the cast to be involved, Freddie messaged me about it as though it was already their thing, said he’d run it past “the team,” and never followed up in the remaining month during which I was open to providing free labor for the show in any capacity. That the original version we planned would have been volunteer-based does not mean any and every random person is qualified to come up with content warnings. This is a qualified area of expertise that people receive training in, and the content warnings at present are clearly not being done by a qualified or trained person. It’s not my job to write out in detail who they should look for, but perhaps the Storybreak boys could see about paying for the time of someone who does this for the MaxFun shows. H. Why are you so pressed about it, just move on, I’m concerned for your mental health.  Because people have been telling me for months that the cast is responsive to feedback, cares about mental health issues, cares about abuse survivors, takes trauma seriously, acknowledges when they make mistakes, and tries their best to do better.  Someone was seriously harmed by this mistake. They were informed of this by 3-5 official channels. They eventually fixed the thing that caused harm without apologizing or responding to the harmed person who reached out (or any of the other people affected, both those who discussed it publicly and those who didn’t). (The person affected did receive an apology from a mod, which is thoughtful, but when it’s from someone who didn’t commit the harm, an apology can only serve as a “I’m sorry this happened to you,” not a “I’m sorry I did this.”) There is no indication that any steps have been taken to keep this from happening again. What happened in this chain of events that looks like good people trying their best, holding themselves accountable, and taking trauma seriously? Because I think I missed it. I. So what do you even want from them, since they clearly can’t do anything right in your book?  First up, let me be clear - this post isn’t addressed to the cast or the community manager. I know how to get in touch with them, and I know that they ignore me when I do. I don’t want to hear from them now or ever. This is a post addressed to the listening community at large, and specifically the subsection that chose to engage after my warnings up front. I don’t have a problem with people enjoying the rollercoaster that is dndads, but I think people deserve to know that this particular rollercoaster is not compliant with the safety standards it claims to follow. That’s pretty much it. These are careless people telling a story carelessly and causing verifiable harm as a result. They fuck up, they get called out, they fix it silently (sometimes). Then they move on without apology or acknowledgment to the people who got hurt, and without a plan to avoid committing the same fuckup in the future.  Enjoy their story all you want, they’re very funny and the characters are wild, but just... if you’re recommending the show to someone who might count on content warnings, maybe mention that the CWs on this show aren’t particularly reliable and don’t seem to be a high priority. That’s my conclusion.
Receipts, in Full
D brought the missing content warning up on the Patreon discord the same day the episode was posted:
1. Discord post 1.
Tumblr media
[ID: A discord post in dark mode with username redacted from 12/8/2020. It says “Moment (22:36) caused a massive panic attack for me and I’ve had to stop listening to the ep. Could we consider a trigger/content warning for verbal abuse? /end ID] 2. Discord post 2. D didn’t get a response (besides emoji reacts) in the patreon discord, and posted again later: [ID: A redacted Discord post in dark mode, in channel Show Discussion, from 12/8/2020. D/User 1: How do we go about requesting trigger/content warnings for episodes? Is there a procedure, a person to message? Jumped into today’s episode and got absolutely blindsided by trauma triggers. Very upset, very angry. User 2: There are content warnings in the description of the episode, at least on patreon not sure about other services like Spotify. I believe this one included verbal abuse. Mod: they’ve been added to the description after a couple of people had suggested them. seriously sorry about the delay in adding them. User 2: Ah didn’t realize it wasn’t included right away. D/User 1: Not sure if it was there the whole time. I see now that it says verbal abuse, but I swear when I opened the patreon page to listen a few hours ago, it only had “profanity, violence, sexual content.” Seriously messed me up, had a massive panic attack and I was alone at the time so I was completely unsupported and alone. I’m quite livid, going to take a break from listening to the show for a while. [/end ID]
Tumblr media
3. The episode description was edited to include verbal abuse among the CWs on the same day as release. The website was not updated: Someone on the patreon discord messaged Freddie directly on December 9th and pointed out that the CWs were still incomplete on the website. They did not receive a reply from him, but the website was eventually updated sometime on December 10th.
Tumblr media
[ID: A screenshot of the dndads website showing Episode 48: Carry On My Wayward Son. The summary reads: The trial draws to a close as the jury reaches a verdict and Glenn learns his fate. This episode contains profanity, violence, and sexual content. /end ID] 4. Reddit posts. D later posted on the official dndads subreddit. Someone had asked “When I first heard Anthony as Willie yell “Shut Up” I was legitimately shocked and a bit frightened for a moment. Hearing yelling of any kind on a such a usually upbeat podcast was very surprising. How did you respond? Did you not notice, or did it have an affect?” D’s response:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: A Reddit thread. D/First poster: As someone who was violently abused as a child, it was a massive trauma trigger. Hours later I was still shaking. The CW/TW Tag for verbal abuse was not there initially, so it completely blindsided me. I actually have not finished listening to this episode because that first "SHUT UP!" triggered a polyvagal shutdown state. My heart goes out to the childhood trauma survivors who shared in this experience. Second poster: As someone who was in a verbally and emotionally abusive relationship, I empathize completely. I had to fully take a break from the episode before I could continue listening a day later because it was so triggering. Unfortubately, Anthony is really good at acting. I had a similar experience listening to Ep. 29 "Big Willy Style" again, because of how scarily accurate some of his lines were. I hope you are doing okay and took time to practice some self care 💕 its so hard when triggers completely blindside you. Third poster: I dont know how true this is for you, because despite my father being a weird mixture of the three granddads, it didn't negatively hit me as much but, do you appreciate Anthony's depiction? I personally found it somewhat comforting, in a weird way, that despite a lot of us experiencing that as children, we're now all joining together to remind ourselves how terrible that was, and humanise, yet take down these Father figures and make fun of them, sharing and lightening our trauma for each other. The fact that Anthony doesn't mess around with Willy makes me appreciate his characterisation, because I really fuckin hate Willy. D/First poster: I think the objective fact that his performance triggered a Dorsal Vagal Shutdown state speaks volumes to his talent. His performance caused my nervous system to overload and perceive myself to be in a genuinely life-threatening situation. So yes, by definition, Anthony's performance was appreciated. However, nothing in the definition of appreciate says that appreciation is a good thing: (ap·pre·ci·ate/əˈprēSHēˌāt/ verb 1.recognize the full worth of. "she feels that he does not appreciate her" 2. understand (a situation) fully; recognize the full implications of. "they failed to appreciate the pressure he was under") I can also appreciate that for many other listeners, the format of the show provides a sense of community and togetherness. By taking such painful memories and dismantling their power through comedy and community, people are finding a sense of healing. I do not want to discount the value that this has for listeners. However, OP asked specifically: How did you respond? Did you not notice, or did it have an affect? The comment that you have responded to was my comment sharing my own personal experience with this episode. Now, tell me: if you discovered a fellow fan trembling and crying after a piece of media had triggered their PTSD, would the first thing you say to them be, "but you appreciate the art though, right? Like, you appreciate the artist and how talented they are?" The other piece is that the verbal abuse tag was not there when the episode was first posted. I read the tags, because I know that I need to. That tag was NOT there. So I requested it. No one responded to me, so I turned to discord. By the time the discord members responded to me, the tag had been edited in. Suddenly, I'm the asshole in everyone's eyes because they see someone who didn't do their due diligence. So to answer your question: yes, I can acknowledge and appreciate that Anthony Burch has performed the role of 'vicious abuser' to such a degree of realism that years of trauma came rushing to the forefront of my consciousness. With two words, he activated my amygdala and disconnected my prefrontal cortex, reducing me to a terrified animal. Very compelling performance indeed. You are technically correct. But I did not feel one single modicum of support from this community. I thought that since OP's question addressed the exact moment that made me cancel my sub that I would affirm for them that it was distressing for me too. I hope my contribution helped them feel seen and heard. I had hoped that if my contribution inspired a response, that I might feel seen or heard too. Maybe next time. [/end ID]

This is going to be my feelings/opinions towards all of the main characters in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. This is directly related to my interpretation of events in the series! If you disagree with my thoughts/feelings that’s totally cool but this isn’t meant to be a debate!
A lot has been going on right now and I don’t have the energy to do much digital art right now, so I figured I’d just open up a little more about one of my favorite series! Maybe I’ll do my opinions on characters for the other games next.
** This post will contain information that will spoil the series for you, so continue at your own risk**
Makoto Naegi:
Honestly I really like Makoto. He is really average but honestly I think that’s what makes him so appealing. Not only that, but he comes off with a type of charisma that only “average” people can pull off. He has a base knowledge on a variety of subjects that allows him to talk to the other students. That and I find the concept of his “luck” very interesting. Also, side note, but that sprite of him focusing with his finger under his chin is probably one of my most favorite DR sprites ever. It’s just so cute! (I might redraw it someday hehe)
10/10
Aoi Asahina:
While I adore Hina, I really wish that they would have made her more than just a ditzy character who was obsessed with donuts in this game. I loved her energy though! Her interactions with everyone always made me smile. My appreciation for her character just increased exponentially after watching the Despair Arc of Danganronpa 3. All in all I’m super glad that her character survived in THH.
8/10
Byakuya Togami:
Honestly, I have mixed feelings about Byakuya. I think he’s a great antagonistic character, truly, but beyond that I’m not sure. I definitely think that his character is humbled throughout the course of the game, and in later games/animes he seems a lot less asshole-ish, but I’m not sure if I like him or hate him. I guess that just goes to show just how great he is as an antagonist. One thing I thought was hilarious though was how he casually admitted to being a true-crime nerd. I’m really glad he survived because I think his “talent” was really important for the Future Foundation.
6/10
Celestia Ludenberg:
Okay so real talk, I used to be a huge Celestia fan when I first stumbled across the series. But now, I don’t really like her character all that much. I think that out of all of the killers in THH her motive was the most shallow and that really is terrible considering how much potential she had. Her disconnect with her true identity could have made for an interesting character arc. And I really hate how they gave her literally the most complicated murder scheme when it would make sense for her to take a little risk as possible. Her character design is really cute though.
5/10
Chihiro Fujisaki:
I think Chihro’s death was one of the hardest for me in the game. I played through all of his freetime events and was super attached to him (I know, a horrible idea in a game like DR), and as soon as he died I was just in shock. One thing I love about how they portrayed his character was truly allowing the brilliance of Chihiro shine through even after his death. He created the AI that not only helped aid in their escape, but ultimately saved Makoto's life. I also really liked the juxtaposition of Chihiro and Mondo (the seemingly weaker one ultimately being stronger after all). All in all, Chihiro is a great character.
10/10
Hifumi Yamada:
I’m not really a fan of Hifumi, but I definitely think he gets wayy too much hate or just gets overlooked completely. I think that the creators leaned a bit too far into the stereotypes for him, and that made him come off as stiff and just… there. I knew from the very beginning that he wouldn’t survive, and honestly he’s the only character I had that feeling with (minus Leon). There are some quirks about him that I like, though, like how he never fails to refer to the others politely.
4/10
Kiyotaka Ishimaru:
So I originally found Taka annoying but after playing THH again he became one of my favorite characters. I find his enthusiasm adorable and his free time events boosted my admiration of him. He’s the only Ultimate that makes a conscious effort to prove himself and not rely on his prodigy-type status. And his relationship with Mondo, albeit short-lived, was so pure. It was so obvious to me that he was happy to have a friend (because Mondo is the first friend he’s ever had), and having that suddenly ripped away and listening to his desperation at the end of chapter 2 made me sob.
10/10
Kyoko Kirigiri:
Kiri’s background made me feel really sad for her. I first thought she was just the aloof, cold, smart type that was a bit snobbish. But then you realize that she’s been raised to not be in the spotlight, to work alone and without credit behind the scenes. Detective work is basically her birthright and she’s clung to that like a vice. Her character development throughout the game was really nice, and I think her and Makoto are super cute for each other. The side plot with her and her dad in DR3 made me really sad, too. I really liked overall that she was unapologetically holding true to her beliefs, even if it made her come off as cold. She was a solid, strong female character.
8/10
Leon Kuwata:
It was super obvious from the beginning that Leon was gonna die. There was 0 attachment to his character for me and he just came off as just...kinda there. I don’t really have much to say about him, other than that I’m not a fan.
1/10
Mondo Owada:
Mondo was such a big sweetheart in his freetime events. I thought his character was really well rounded and I was so sad that he ended up killing Chihiro. Despite that, I thought it worked really well for the story and played off of both of their weaknesses. Again I really loved his friendship with Taka, and having it formed and ended so quickly surprisingly hurt.
8/10
Sakura Oogami:
Honestly I didn’t like how they made her character the spy, because it seemed ridiculously out of character for her. Honestly I think this would be something better suited to Celeste, as she would view it as a way to increase her chances of living if she’s in “kahoots” with him. I dunno, I think the spy thing was unnecessary anyways. I loved her character though and her friendship with Hina was super cute. I also loved how they mentioned that she wanted to embrace her femininity while also not wanting to give up being the strongest person in the world.
7/10
Sayaka Maizono:
Honestly even though I’m not the biggest fan of Sayaka I really like the role she played at the beginning and I think they played it off perfectly. Her desperation fueled by the fear and harsh reality that comes along show business and easily being forgotten really works in the narrative. She seemed like a well-rounded character but I think that if she had lasted past chapter 1 I would have liked her less. All in all her character did a great job of kicking off everything.
6/10
 Toko Fukawa:
I hate how they portrayed her character in THH, but her obsessive and odd behavior (outside of her split personality) is easily explained by her traumatic past. She obviously has a warped sense of what “love” is, and that plus her intense delusions turned into obsession for Byakuya. I started loving her character a lot more in UDG, when she started becoming more well rounded and open around Komaru.
Also, I loved Genocider Syo’s personality. While I obviously don’t condone serial murders, I think that her character is extremely interesting. She doesn’t try and condone her own actions, admitting there is no rhyme or reason. Plus I think it’s really interesting that she considers herself a “professional” and is incredibly particular about the details.
Overall 6/10 in THH
Yasuhiro Hagakure:
I feel like Hiro gets a lot of shit as a character because they think he doesn’t contribute anything. I think he adds a lot of much-needed comic relief. Also I think that everyone glosses over the fact that once Taka goes silent he actually tries to encourage him to speak up again. And then tries to do his part and keep everyone together and upbeat. I really think that Hiro is a fun character who deserves more love, even though I can’t say he’s one of my favorites.
7/10
Mukuro Ikusaba:
I wish Mukuro’s personality would have been able to actually show through in the game. The only glimpse we really see of it is in the bonus school mode while she is still posing as Junko. I wish in the anime they’d have harped less on her odd obsession with Junko and focused more on her internal struggle. I think her character has potential but I can’t say I was particularly attached to her (I suppose that was kind of the point, though).
4/10
Junko Enoshima:
Junko is probably one of the most well-written villains I have ever seen in a series. At first I thought it didn’t make sense, and was confused how one person could have so much influence on a mass amount of people. Then it was revealed in later installments that Ultimate Fashionista was not her real talent, just a cover she forged for herself to help her blend in to the school. Her real ultimate talent as the Ultimate Analyst allowed her to predict people’s actions and more importantly, their reactions. Her innate ability and incurable boredom made her seek out something unpredictable: despair and chaos. I think what made me love her as a villain was the line “You can’t argue with me, because there's no reason for anything that I do.”
As a villain I give her 15/10. If I were to rank her as a person? -11037/10
Overall Opinion:
I really find most of the characters charming but it’s super obvious when comparing this game to the others that these characters were not as fleshed out as characters in other games. I found it hard to be super attached to most of them and felt that some of their actions were really uncharacteristic. However I really do like the characters and what they add to the story, even if some of it doesn’t add up completely. I’m the least attached to these characters out of all of the characters in the DR series, although there are obviously some exceptions. I think there couldn’t have been a better opening cast of characters.

September Project updation post in October because, well, i’m silly
This post I’ll mainly talk about my plan for my stories, and the things that’ve changed along with my plans for them and such. This was suppose to be in September but, I procrastinated, so yeah!  And, a ‘keep reading’ line to keep things tidy looking! Also, I actually had this as a draft, but forgot about it! Also, also, please don’t mind all the spelling errors that i’m sure is in here, this is quite long, and i’m so sorry for all of that!
You all know the drill, this is an update for the story I've been working on. It was made in roughly February of 2019. Or at least, that’s when I got the idea for it. I’ve been working on it seriously since September of 2019. So, for about a year. On this blog you can find a good bit of random things about it, including drawings. A lot of the drawings I've done I never posted, maybe one day, probably never, but still! A lot of this Blog has actually been WIPS of my story. And, since those past updates, story pitches and such, a few things have changed, and that's what this is about!
First, for those who don’t know, I feel in love with One shot, Deiland, Moonlighter, Borderlands, and a few other games. Mainly One shot for it’s vibe, it’s feel. I loved it, maybe too much? And, really wanted to make something like it. I don’t see that atmosphere much, personally. On Music box maniacs, a lovely site, I was given the idea to make a melody for a character. And that’s how Umber came along. Over time, I kind of made Umber, and left her. Started trying to get into digital art, but without a tablet I tried to create a character that would be easy to free hand with a mouse. Which became Pax. Over time, I feel in love with Pax’s design. I drew him a lot, he was my first, and only OC. I’ve drawn random people and thing’s before, but he had a name. An age. And soon, a back story. He was set in a different world than Umber’s. Which, at this time, is almost abandoned. He was a potion seller’s child who only wanted to go on the adventure’s the customers where experiencing. And one day, he’d face a dragon, and possibly his fate. But that was scraped because each time I drew him, more and more, the backgrounds reminded me of Umber’s story. So, he became a child in her story and his was abandoned.  Umber was suppose to be a child traveling with no family trying to get awareness of her light to others. And once meeting Pax in another shop, he agreed to help her. So, you could say, Pax was Moonlighter based, and Umber was One shot based. The idea that her light was a bad thing and there were ‘”bad people” didn’t come until later. Though, Crimson was suppose to be a bully type of person who mocked, and even at times, almost hurt Umber. Because also, at this time, everyone was children. Once it was thought over for awhile then did we get the story line we have now. Umber was an inventor in a world suffering a seeming eternal eclipse. which was ruled by a corporation that was money hungry and didn’t care for the greater good. The world had glowing bugs that somehow emit a good amount of light, and through time and a lot messing and discovery, oddly power? Which is what the corporation sells, Starworm lights, and “batteries” of a sort. The bugs also allow some things to grow, but with them being harvested as much as they are, the corporation is killing the world. But, that won’t be their problem, they’ll be dead by the time it’s an issue. Now, we have a lot of characters and general world building stuff, along with the flora and fauna and how things work. So, let’s begin! (Yes, this is going to be a long post. I’m so sorry!) But, I have since changed a few things, which I will now state. I was pretty heck bent on giving them ages, but, I don’t wish for them to have any, anymore. This is not earth. It’s a planet without a sun. Keeping track of time is easier than days, let alone years. So for many, it’s just a toss up on how long they’ve lived for. Just a mere, rough, idea. I wanted ages for personality comparisons and height ideas for when I draw them. Which, was never my idea at first. This was just for OC’s to draw, yes, but then it became a story for them, along with for my own enjoyment and somehow it became more than that. Which, I oddly love. But, ages were more for an even sillier reason I've since abandoned as well, and I think the story’s better off now since then. Also, they were all children at a time. Adults wouldn’t even have names or faces, All adults were originally suppose to get full face masks. Instead of half masks. But Indigo ruined that, and after that, some of the characters were being made older. To fit with the personalities, for say, Talos. He was also a child, who I didn’t feel being a child would fit the character and mainly, their job in the story as a whole. So yes. The story itself wasn’t the main idea. Having OC’s to draw were. But I was given a lot of support on MBM with my story pitches, also, I enjoyed making them. So I continued. And I really enjoy this. World building has been the hardest, trying to make things make sense, like the eclipse lasting years. And the fact a moon bigger and that much closer to the planet would most likely make the planet itself, the planet’s moon, and the moon, the planet. And how is life still possible, along with, isn’t it cold? And to that, yes, yes, yes, and maybe XD Mainly, this is fantasy, yes, I do want it to make sense, yes, this isn’t earth. The people’s races aren’t our races, calling them human might just be an insult to them. I mean, they don’t even have pupils. (Thanks, odd drawing style.) So, my answer to a lot of this is, it’s not earth. This is fantasy. I’m doing this for fun. And I’ve done a lot research for something that was never suppose to be as much of a thing as it is, but i’m having too much fun to stop now. And with that as well, yes, a lot of my characters are suppose to have a deeper skin color. Talos, Mauve, Indigo, and so on, are suppose to have a more deep olive color. But, at the time of drawing a lot of them, I didn’t have the faith to execute other skin tones correctly. So I just didn’t. Just like drawing illustrations for my story. I didn’t think I would because I didn’t think I could, but i’m now willing to try. So, here is where we stand so far! I want my characters to have a rough age, but it could be depicted to give of take about three years. I’ve said I wanted Pax to be about 11, but I also see him to act older for his age and such. The idea of him being any younger seems odd, but if you wanted to give him a 9-15 age for an example, that’s more than cool. That goes for all my characters. I want a lot of my characters to look like their own character, i’m working very hard with redraws to make sure there’s noticeable differences with their noses and eye shapes and such.  I want different skin colors and face shapes and so on, but the idea of different races on such a small planet and even the idea of tanned skin in a world without the sun to give one a tan seems odd to me? But there will be differences, because I always wanted there to be. This story will indeed cover some heavy topics. Including but not limited to, alcohol, death, suicide, murder, mental and physical disorders and illnesses, such as DID, alzheimer’s, dementia, memory issues, abandonment, and a form of racism. All things are not straight out talked about or referenced, but lightly implied.  I took inspiration from a lot of things. (including places, animals, other stories and people) And I will not refer to any of it within my story, such as DID. There is already too much falseness and other wrong info on that and other things. I do not trust myself to paint it in a good light, nor a correct light. And will re-frame from actually stating a character has an identity disorder. The idea this world knows of DID and would use the same word is also something I question. But the characters disorder is based on DID. (Also, it’s Tobias.) The idea of genders is something that’s a toss up. I’ve never said anything of the sort and would rather not say anything. The idea that they have genders or sexuality is just something I don’t really want to think about and is rarely mentioned. The idea of love and such is mentioned, purely more for a joke/bit. But still I don’t wish to think of my characters with genders or those parts no matter what I refer to them as. Not mention these characters still aren’t human. I do use She/he/they pronouns for my characters and as of now have used phases like, “That guy” But, it’s become a personal running joke I want to make clear at the start of my story that it was translated and adapted to fit this worlds standers of word form. There are roughly 25 characters as of now, only five main characters, or should I say, five characters that get there point of view expressed. And about six support characters, and the rest are minor support characters. Some of these characters are only mentioned, or referenced, as an attempt to build the world. Questions are always open, and this story is undergoing many changes and constant consideration. As I learn, grow and improve my skills.  I have no hope or want for this to get big or anything of the sort. this is for fun. 100%. If it looks like I talk about this a lot, but never have anything to show for it, it’s because I want it to be perfect or close to it before I show anything. Which will be never, because I can never make perfect. I’m just trying to do the best I can and am pushing the limits of my skills to get there.  I should note, I am fine, I’m not “Pushing” myself. Which is why it’s taking the time it is.  I am really working on character personalities and keeping them coherent and sane along with the same. And talking about all this helps with that. As for now, I know what I want to do, and where I want my story to go, i’m just figuring out how to execute it best.  I’m more skilled in writing where I describe things, mainly emotions and the scene it’self. Along with script writing. I’m not skilled with writing conversations which is a large part of my story. Same with drawing backgrounds or anything that isn’t people. So my story so far reads a lot like a script due to how the conversations are laid out and due to how I describe how each thing is done. This is something I want to get a bit away from because it was purely so I wouldn’t get lost and confused with who was talking and the emotion/feel of each scene.  That’s because I have the attention span and instruction following skills of a carrot. I use my characters names far too many times along with a lot of other things I use for self help clarity which I hope to fix by the end. I do think it’d be cool to start dropping parts of the story and other things of what I have done, with the note that it could change. I feel it’d be fun, but i’m very hesitant to do so.  I do wish to make character bios and such for them all at some point and just have a post that lays down what has been decided so if anyone wants they can follow along with the process. But, that’s all a toss up as of now. Thank-you for reading, and for your time, I hope you have an amazing day! And I dearly apologize for this length!

Well, happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I didn’t actually have any plans to draw any art for this occasion, but then my Creative Writing teacher passed out cards and stickers to everyone so we could make some of our own once we were finished with our classwork. Thus, I said ‘Fuck it’ and indulged in my pleasures by drawing a Valentine’s Day card themed around one of my favorite JoJo characters: Pesci!
I don’t think it’s a surprise at this point that I love La Squadra, given my follows and recent art pieces. Though, I never really drew Pesci despite him being my favorite member along Prosciutto all that much. That’s mostly because I didn’t feel confident drawing him given his..... Unusual appearance. Though, I did recently do a pencil sketch of him that turned out passable (You can see it on my Twitter; I might post it oh here later in a sketch dump), so I do feel more better about drawing him now. I’m pretty sure I didn’t get the arrangement of the hearts on his suit down correctly, but eh; I drew this from memory and tried my best.
Anyways, sorry for the bad quality. I would try to digitize this, but knowing my slow ass, I don’t think I’d be able to finish it before today is over and this kind of stuff becomes irrelevant. Though who knows? Maybe I’ll come back to this next year and try to digitize or even redraw this for next year.

On the matter of translations
OK, so I had a pretty awful week and the recent event was just another thing added on my plate, so, I’m here to say a few things. I have seen a few discussions, I got a few anon hate messages because of my previous post, and now, since I’ll be inactive for a while, I’m gonna leave this message here until I come back, sometime next month.
Alright, first off, yeah I was a bit upset over this matter even though I know there was no bad intentions from this, because it was something unexpected that messed up my schedule a bit. In all the almost 2 years since I took over to translate the monthly chapters which was a pretty big decision back then, I didn’t see anyone else taking their time to handle them, so of course, I had my own pace when making the chapters. When the RAW comes out, I have times when I can immediately begin on writing the translation at least, and I leave cleaning pages (which in some chapters I really had to work on to redraw parts) later. In this matter, when I was too overwhelmed due to my job and IRL problems, I asked others for help if it was possible to help me out and I did receive help for which I’m grateful. I’m not alone on the translation part, I also ask for help on proofreading to ensure everything is alright because I want my translations to be of good quality (I facepalm at the state of the official English editions, especially the first volumes). Servamp had many translators before me, the last person being hatmirror who translated most of the chapters out there, and to which I reached out after a very long hiatus from her, happy to get a chance to talk to her for a while, until I haven’t heard from her again for a long time, but she had her problems so I understand. So yeah, I was kinda left alone and wondered if there’s gonna be someone who will handle the future chapters of this manga that I loved o much (I began to translate from chapter 64 and helped out on some of the previous ones) until I managed to find another Servamp fan who also knew Japanese. Thus, since I began, I started to bring as much info as I could for Servamp’s story, through many notes explaining stuff, like name meanings and references in the story, or to point out huge differences from the official editions, because there might have been some that got to know Servamp through those versions and I wished that new fans got to know in more detail what actually happens in the story. So, while there’s no rule saying that no else could have also also tried their hand at translating, you gotta think a little about those who have apparently handled a project for a long time. @animenotaizai let me tell you of my own experience from years ago, when I did the same thing. I also translated a few chapters from one of my other favorite manga, back then I actually had much more free time than now. So yeah, translated a few chapters because the team who usually made them updated kinda slow, but I realized I did a mistake,  even if no one told me, not even the team who handled the manga. I realized myself that I indirectly insulted the long time team who handled that manga which had by then about 70 chapters, so I kinda intruded at a point when the story of the manga was so far ahead. From then, I backed off and only contributed with a few extra comics from that manga because those were not done and some people wanted them to see them translated. You see, if there was someone who handled a project for a long time, you can expect they have their own pace and ways of editing and writing. When it comes to writing and making adaptations, you get to have certain words and phrases that you will use on a regular basis, which can become iconic phrases for example and defines their character. I too have certain words that use for particular characters, that I try to adapt to be as close as the original if possible in the target language, in this case, English. Thus, when I translated stuff long ago and came with my own set of phrases or particular words in a middle of a story, I realized that was not such a great move to make, because I disrupted a bit of the usual and long-time adapted dialogues that fans were accustomed to. Now in your case or anyone else for that matter who wants to improve on their language learning skills, you can try and take on something that wasn’t done. That’s what I did when I started my main blog, I made doujinshi translations that no one else did. There are websites with digital versions of manga or novels from where you can get free previews or on certain occasions, even full length manga volumes for free, for a limited time. You can check out many of your favorite manga even for the first few pages if you never saw their RAW version, who knows you might get to see different things even from the first pages.  This is my suggestion, this is what I’ve done to learn more, by taking on series that weren’t made and not just barge in on someone or a team that was handling it already for a long time, because I learned from my mistake. Since I kinda established myself for quite some time and translated every month, even though it takes a while, but then again I spend 9 hours a day at work, I do fandom related stuff when I can, I was a little distraught over this matter because it caused a change in my plans, knowing that no else did this and I will do it at my regular pace like usual.  So this is what I had to say and hopefully it’s more clear for some why I was a little affected by this. (I’m gonna leave this message here until I come back next month or so, by then I might have my version made and I’ll either post it before chapter 82 comes out or release it together with 82, since now I no longer have to make chapter 81 a priority)

A Note About Room Numbering
2020 Election: GOP maintains control of Texas House of Representatives | KVUE
The three primary House office buildingsCannon, Longworth and Rayburnshare a room numbering system for above-ground rooms that might confuse visitors at first.; The system is fairly straight forward and can be used to identify most member and committee offices merely by knowing the correct room number regardless of building.
All Cannon above-ground rooms are three digits.; As you would expect, the first digit indicates the floor level.; For example, 303 Cannon is on the 3rd floor.
All above-ground Longworth rooms are four digits and start with the number 1.; The second digit from the left indicates the floor.; For example, 1309 is on the third floor of the Longworth building.
All above-ground Rayburn rooms are also four digits, but start with a 2. The second digit indicates the floor number. For example, 2125 is on the first floor of Rayburn.

Here Are All Of The House Republicans Who Voted To Impeach Donald Trump
Ten members of the GOP joined with Democrats in the vote.
President Donald Trump impeached for ‘incitement of insurrection’
The House of Representatives has voted to impeach President Donald Trump — making him the only president in American history to be impeached twice.
Unlike his first impeachment in 2019, 10 Republicans joined Democrats to charge Trump for the “incitement of insurrection” for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol with a final vote of 232-197.
Some Republicans may have feared for their own safety if they voted for impeachment, Rep. Adam Kinzinger, one of those who voted against Trump, said. Kinzinger told ABC’s “Powerhouse Politics” podcast that some members of his party are likely holding back from voting for impeachment due to fear of highlighting their own participation in supporting the president’s false claims of election fraud.
Democrat Jason Crow, of Colorado, relayed similar thoughts in an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday morning.
“I had a lot of conversations with my Republican colleagues last night, and a couple of them broke down in tears talking to me and saying that they are afraid for their lives if they vote for this impeachment,” he said.
Here is a list of the 10 Republicans who took a stance against Trump:
Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill.“It’s not going to be some ‘Kumbaya moment’ on the floor — it’s going to be an awakening by the American people to hold their leaders accountable to their rhetoric,”
Changes To House Rules
After Democrats took control of the House in the 116th Congress, they voted to change some rules from the previous session of Congress when Republicans were in control. Some of the changes appear below.
PAYGO: Democrats approved PAYGO, a provision that requires legislation that would increase the deficit to be offset by spending cuts or revenue increases.
Ethics: Democrats made changes to House ethics rules that required all House members to take ethics training, not just new members. The rules also required members to reimburse taxpayers for settlements that that result from a members discrimination of someone based on race, religion, sex, national origin, or disability, among other things. Lawmakers were also prohibited from sitting on corporate boards.
Climate change committee: Democrats created a new climate change committee to address the issue. The committee was not given subpoena power or the ability to bring bills to the floor.

Tim Scott Only Black Gop Senator Set To Respond To Biden
WASHINGTON Tim Scott, the only Black Republican senator, is often happy to dart past Capitol Hill reporters without saying much. This time, he and the spotlight have found each other.
Brought up by a single mother who worked backbreaking hours as a nursing assistant, the 55-year-old Scott has spent a decade in Congress representing South Carolina. Now, the lawmaker who combines a willingness to address racial questions with an advocacy of vintage conservative themes such as opportunity and optimism is giving his partys nationally televised response to President Joe Bidens Wednesday night address to Congress.
Scott also is the lead GOP negotiator as the two parties seek an accord on legislation overhauling police procedures. The issue has long eluded compromise despite national attention fanned by last years killing of George Floyd, a Black man, and this months conviction of a former Minneapolis police officer in his slaying.
You figure out who your audience is, you figure out what you want to say and you try and find a way to say it well, Scott told reporters Tuesday about his speech preparations. And you lean into who you are.
GOP leaders choíce of Scott to answer Biden comes at a tense political moment.
Scott, from North Charleston, South Carolina, nearly dropped out of high school. He tells of a life-changing turnabout after befriending a businessman who became a mentor and stressed the value of hard work.

About Legislative Sessions In Colorado
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Tenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution declares that any power not already given to the federal government is reserved to the states and the people. State governments across the country use this authority to hold legislative sessions where a states elected representatives meet for a period of time to draft and vote on legislation and set state policies on issues such as taxation, education, and government spending. The different types of legislation passed by a legislature may include resolutions, legislatively referred constitutional amendments, and bills that become law.
Article V of the Colorado Constitution establishes when the Colorado General Assembly, of which the House is a part, is to be in session. Section 7 of Article V states that the Assembly is to convene its regular session no later than the second Wednesday of January of each year. Regular sessions are not to exceed one hundred twenty calendar days.
Section 7 also states that the Governor of Colorado can convene special sessions of the General Assembly. Special sessions can also be convened by a two-thirds vote of the members of both legislative houses.

The Impact Of Partisan Gerrymandering
Once a decade, every state redraws its electoral districts, determining which people will be represented by each politician. In many states, this means that politicians gather behind computer screens to figure out how they can manipulate the lines to box out their competition and maximize the power of their political party. While an increasing number of states employ independent commissions to draw district lines, the large majority still lack safeguards to prevent partisan favoritism in the redistricting processalso known as partisan gerrymandering.
It has been almost a decade since the 2010 cycle of redistricting, and the country is still reckoning with the impact. Last May, the Center for American Progress published a report that found that unfairly drawn congressional districts shifted, on average, a whopping 59 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives during the 2012, 2014, and 2016 elections. That means that every other November, 59 politicians that would not have been elected based on statewide voter support for their party won anyway because the lines were drawn in their favoroften by their allies in the Republican or Democratic Party.
Thats democracyelected officials who represent and are accountable to the people. The numbers show that representation in the United States is far from fair, but with straightforward policy changes, citizens can have maps that are fair.

In House Of Representatives An Arithmetic Problem
A variety of smart political observers have suggested that the markets are misreading the situation. Instead, they say, the failure of Mr. Boehners bill makes a deal to avert the so-called fiscal cliff more likely because it has now become clear that any deal will need to rely upon the support of at least some Democrats, which could ease passage through the Democratic-controlled Senate.
Perhaps this is correct. Mr. Boehner has said that the White House and Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader, will now have to take the lead in negotiations. The chance that a fiscal deal will be secured on terms that Democrats find favorable may have increased.
But the chance that there will not be a deal at all may also have increased, or at least not one before protracted negotiations that could harm the economy. The difficulty is in finding any winning coalition of votes in the House of Representatives.
In the diagram below, Ive charted the major coalitions in the incoming 113th Congress, which will convene on Jan. 3. The new House of Representatives will have 233 Republicans and 200 Democrats. Two seats remain vacant, which means that 217 of 433 votes will be required to pass a bill.

South Carolinas 2012 legislative elections were marred by a series of events that eventually led to nearly 250 candidates being removed from the primary ballot. Here is a brief timeline of those events, followed by a detailed account of what happened.
Deadline for candidates to file a required statement of economic interest. Many candidates from both parties fail to do so.
Week of April 16: The State Ethics Commission gives candidates an additional 10 days to turn in the form. Democrats call the decision unfair while Republicans say that they are okay with it.
May 2: The South Carolina Supreme Court rules any candidate who did not file the form must be removed from the ballot. Calls for a rehearing are denied.
May 9: While the Senate attempts to pass legislation to allow challengers back on ballot, attorney Todd Kincannon requests a delay in the primary. Both efforts fail.
Primaries take place as scheduled.

Elections to the U.S. House were held on . All 435 seats were up for election.
In 2010, 54 incumbents lost to challengers in the general election with Republicans swinging 63 total seats in their favor.
Number Of House Members Per State
Unlike the U.S. Senate, which consists of two members from each state, the geographic makeup of the House is determined by the population of each state. The only stipulation spelled out in the U.S. Constitution comes in Article I, Section 2, which guarantees each state, territory or district at least one representative.
The Constitution also states that there can be no more than one representative in the House for every 30,000 citizens.
The number of representatives each state gets in the House of Representatives is based on population. That process, known as reapportionment, occurs every 10 years after the decennial population count conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau.
U.S. Rep. William B. Bankhead of Alabama, an opponent of the legislation, called the Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929 an abdication and surrender of vital fundamental powers. One of the functions of Congress, which created the census, was to adjust the number of seats in Congress to reflect the number of people living in the United States, he said.

An Incoming Class Of History
Several of the newly elected state representatives are making history.;
The Republican Madison Cawthorn, 25, who beat the Democrat Moe Davis to represent North Carolinas 11th Congressional District, will become the youngest member of Congress in modern history.
The Democrat Cori Bush is set to become the first Black congresswoman from Missouri after winning in the states 1st Congressional District.
The Democrats Mondaire Jones and Ritchie Torres will also be the first openly gay Black men to serve in Congress, after winning in New Yorks 17th and 15th districts respectively.
And nine out of the eleven Republicans who have so far unseated incumbent Democrats are women wins that will drastically expand the representation of women and especially of women of color in the House Republican caucus.
Currently, there are just 13 voting female Republican representatives in the House and 11 female Republican incumbents who ran for reelection in 2020.
Republicans Can Win The Next Elections Through Gerrymandering Alone
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even if voting patterns remain the same, Republicans could still win more seats in Congress through redistricting
In Washington, the real insiders know that the true outrages are whats perfectly legal and that its simply a gaffe when someone accidentally blurts out something honest.
And so it barely made a ripple last week when a Texas congressman said aloud whats supposed to be kept to a backroom whisper: Republicans intend to retake the US House of Representatives in 2022 through gerrymandering.
We have redistricting coming up and the Republicans control most of that process in most of the states around the country, Representative Ronny Jackson told a conference of religious conservatives. That alone should get us the majority back.
Hes right. Republicans wont have to win more votes next year to claim the US House.
In fact, everyone could vote the exact same way for Congress next year as they did in 2020 when Democratic candidates nationwide won more than 4.7m votes than Republicans and narrowly held the chamber but under the new maps that will be in place, the Republican party would take control.
If Republicans aggressively maximize every advantage and crash through any of the usual guardrails and they have given every indication that they will theres little Democrats can do. And after a 2019 US supreme court decision declared partisan gerrymandering a non-justiciable political issue, the federal courts will be powerless as well.
Don’t Miss: How Many States Are Controlled By Republicans
Cheney Ousted By Us House Republicans But Will Seek Re
WASHINGTON, May 12 – House of Representatives Republicans on Wednesday ejected Liz Cheney from their leadership ranks as punishment for repudiating former U.S. President Donald Trumps false claims of a stolen election, but she remained defiant and made plans to seek re-election to Congress.
Her ouster from her party’s No. 3 post in the Democratic-led House unfolded in mere minutes in a closed-door meeting. The action signaled that Trump, despite losing to Democrat Joe Biden in November, has solidified his hold over House Republicans as he jockeys to play a major role in the 2022 congressional elections and flirts with running for president again in 2024.
Cheney’s decision, disclosed by a spokesperson, to seek re-election next year for a fourth two-year term as the lone House member representing Wyoming appears to set the stage for a clash between competing factions in a Republican Party facing a moment of reckoning over its future – either following Trump’s lead or finding a new path. Six Republicans already have lined up to challenge her in a heavily Republican state that Trump won with about 70 percent of the vote last year.
After her removal, Cheney came out swinging, telling reporters moments later that she would lead the fight to bring her party back to “fundamental principles of conservatism.”
“We must go forward based on truth. We cannot both embrace the big lie and embrace the Constitution,” Cheney said.
‘HORRIBLE HUMAN BEING’
Arguments For Expanding The Number Of House Members
Advocates;for increasing the number of seats in the House say such a move would increase the quality of representation by reducing the number of constituents each lawmaker represents. Each House member now represents about 710,000 people.
The group ThirtyThousand.org argues that the framers of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights never intended for the population of each congressional district to exceed 50,000 or 60,000. “The principle of proportionally equitable representation has been abandoned,” the group argues.
Another argument for increasing the size of the House is that is would diminish the influence of lobbyists. That line of reasoning assumes that lawmakers would be more closely connected to their constituents and therefore less likely to listen to special interests.

What Activists And Democrats Want To Happen
For years, Democrats and activists alike have pushed for an independent redistricting commission to draw Indianas maps. Their argument is that only an independent group can do so without party influence.;
But Republicans have long stifled any legislation that would make that change.;
Now activists such as Common Cause and;All IN for Democracy; and Democrats alike are asking for a transparent process with more time for analysis of the proposed maps and public comment after the proposed maps are released.;

Keep on drawing!
A few months ago @mintchocolateleaves did a post where she compared her writing and how it has changed over time and after reading that I thought “yes, this is something really cool to do!” Not only because you see your own development but also because it can be inspirational to people who just get started? So yes, here is a little throwback about my drawing, mainly on my comic/doujin history.
So, I have always liked drawing but I only really got back into it in 2009 when I got back into DC. And I was drawing almost nothing but DC. I have all my pictures still on my deviantart and I did think about deleting some of them but at the same time I thought that it might be nice to see. Because I tried all kinds of tools for art and all sorts of styles. I uploaded my first comic was about Kaito and how he learned about Toichi’s death. I drew it in 2010 and, well, it’s... it’s cute.
Tumblr media
I honestly think that this should feel anyone better about their art, honestly. Anyway, this was my first comic, it was 11 pages long and I used fineliner and pencils. Published in 2010. Yay. However, I enjoyed story telling so I soon decided to do another doujinshi, something a bit longer. Back then I ADORED the fanficition Mayonaka by dragoon-sama and just decided “I’m gonna draw that!” So I started uploading “Mayonaka” one month later, which I worked on until 2010. I tried my pencil style, then moved to digital drawings...
Tumblr media
... and then switched again back to traditional. (I tried digital art, I did!)
Tumblr media
I fell in love with the hatching style, which I am still using up to this day. But as I said, I tried plenty of styles and eventually settled on the one which was the most enjoyable one. After two years of drawing Mayonaka I lost my motiviation for this doujin since the original fanfiction wasn’t updated anymore and I can’t think of a plot that seemed worthy of this amazing story. So I started thinking about my own story, which is how Shadow Chase was born in 2012.
Tumblr media
I, yes, the drawings are cute, but they ARE better than 2010. And I LOVED drawing comics so I just kept doing it. (Also, for anyone else who’s drawing comics, I always work10 pages ahead which helps me staying motivated. I always found it very depressing when I uploaded a page that I just finished and had to start from scratch again or else I wouldn’t have anything to upload). So yes, that page was from 2012 and the following one is from 2017.
Tumblr media
It’s not perfect but I am very proud about my progress! And while my main influence remains to be DC, I was also influenced by other mangas I enjoy reading like Bakuman, The World God only Knows and others. When I saw something in a manga that I really liked I would try to adapt it in one of my comics at some point.  I also read books on different drawing styles and Animation, and looked at lots of art of other people and whenever there was something I really liked I started experimenting myself. The message I want to tell : Just keep drawing. Like, no matter how bad you think your art is or how slowly you seem to make progress, just keep going anyway and try whatever you want! Just don’t stop drawing, because in order to improve you need to continue drawing. Just for fun I did a redraw a few days ago of the first picture I had ever uploaded on DeviantArt and I’m quite excited about another comparison in a few years. To anyone who reads this and might be insecure about their drawings now, just keep drawing in a way that you’re enjoying it and don’t be afraid to try new things or show your work! The more experience you get the better you’ll become. <3

He lived with his family that consists of his mother, father, and little sister. He had a very normal and happy childhood and has a strong relationship with his family. He was one of those kids you’d probably call a goody two shoes. He didn’t really do anything wrong and spent most of his time either with his family, friends, or finishing up his schoolwork. Despite Oli being a naive child, he was pretty smart and had good grades. Adolescence: Middle school was pretty much all around the same for Oli, nothing really changed for him until freshman year of high school. That time was the one that really shaped him, and not really in a good way. That year he met this boy named Ryan Prescod. He was the captain of the football team, tall, handsome, charismatic. Oli couldn’t help but to completely fall for him. Ryan however, saw an opportunity in this. Oli is the kind of kid that you could manipulate into doing most anything and Ryan liked that. He used warm and loving words to get Oli in the palm of his hands. He saw him as a means to get what he wants, not for a loving relationship. Ryan was really sweet and caring at first, but shortly after they got together, he began to show his true colors. When Ryan didn’t get his way, he’d insult and belittle Oli, to the point it made him actually believe that what he said was true. It was definitely a mentally/emotionally abusive relationship. Hell, he would sometimes beat him a little, but only in spots where the bruises and cuts could be covered up. Ryan even tried to control who he was hanging out with and for how long. This went on for about four months, until others intervened and broke it off. That left Oliver broken for a while, with insecurities that Ryan instilled into him. Oli still acted like he usually did, keeping these things to himself. The last thing he likes to do is worry the people around him. He silently suffered with these fears and insecurities. After all, this happened, Oli got anxious when he started developing even a slight crush. Fearing it might end up like the last relationship, or that he just wouldn’t be good enough. About two years later, in junior year, in his English class, he was paired up with this boy named Akuma. He was infamous around the school for getting into violent fights with other kids and other horrible rumors that liked to float around. Of course, Oli was intimidated at first but was curious to see if he was truly as bad as everyone painted Akuma to be. The two boys would butt heads a little during the time they worked together, but after some time, they got along for the most part. Despite Akuma’s bad reputation, Oli got attached to him and wanted to get to know him more. Akuma was reluctant at first, but let him stick around anyway. They became pretty close after a while, and to Oli’s surprise, started to really like him. He began to panic as soon as he realized this, old memories of his last relationship flooding back onto him like a tidal wave. It took him a bit to calm down and come to terms with his feelings. He realized, based on what he knew of Akuma, that he would most likely never do that. He actually became really sensitive and agitated whenever Oli was even the slight bit injured or when he just looked upset. When Oliver eventually built up the courage, he confessed to Akuma when they were alone. Akuma eventually accepted his feelings and they started dating. They decided to keep it to themselves for a while, eventually gradually telling the people close to them. It was mostly due to the nature of their relationship and their vastly different lifestyles. Adulthood: Currently, Oliver is a nineteen-year-old college student studying art (specifically illustration, a little bit of animation). He lives in a studio apartment near the school but often likes to stay at his bf’s place. Although it is kind of far away from his apartment. He's pretty content on how his life is going so far. ✦ Other Info✦ He has a sun tattoo on the left side of his chest. (I’ll add more as I develop him <3) Note: I will be adding more outfits for him because he needs all the outfits All feminine ofc Also I don't mind adding more relationships for him, I'd prefer kemonomimis tho, as that's the kinda universe he's set in. Also I might redraw this later as I'm not really too happy with it--- ;;v;; Character and art(c) Kit-Kat-Draws Design by @/BurntUniverse Some of the other characters mentioned belong to KoKo-The-Rabbit
