The day had come, at long last.

While there were so few people in Hestia Familia and the manor was meant to house over one hundred people, it still felt like the place was bustling, even before Hogni was out of bed. Standing in front of the mirror he'd bought for his room, he...wasn't too pleased with the signs of sleep deprivation under his eyes.

...When was the last time he had a good night's sleep? The day Hedin arrived? Gripping the sides of the mirror, he looked a little more closely--and startled when there was a knock on the door.

"Y...You may--The...door's open..." he called out, one hand letting go of the mirror as Welf walked in. Leaving behind his usual yukata-style outfit, the blacksmith was wearing black slacks and a button-up with a vest that matched his hair. The rest of the Familia was told they could wear whatever they wanted, so he expected the others to just wear what they normally did...this was a surprise.

"Like it? I figured I had at least one nice thing I could wear for the big day." He walked over to the elf and looked into the mirror with him. "Hedin won't let anyone in his room, so I figured I'd come check on you. The Goddess has been in back since like three in the morning setting up the altar in back...How're you holding up? You look nervous."

Hogni took a slow breath and the exhale was a little shaky. "I-I should...be alright..." It'd been awhile since he'd had any need to dress nicely, but he went shopping over the last few days just to make sure he had the perfect outfit that Hedin would be pleased with. A dark suit with a very subtle purple undertone and a tailcoat. He wasn't planning to exchange his fingerless gloves for anything else, though.

"Alright...wanna head out? Everyone else should be done getting ready, too."

"Shhh," Tikal holds up a finger to her mouth, indicating her friend should be quiet. The patrols didn't used to come by here, but recently they've been more frequent, and more intense. "I can't stay for long, Father's been more strict these days. But…here!" She gives Seren a small pendant carved out in the shape of some sort of small creature. Two larger holes for the eyes, one small hole for the mouth. A bit of jade for a small sprout on its head and some leather cord running through that. "My grandmother used to wear this before she gave it to me. She said it could house souls. So...in case I can't see you again for a while, I'd like you to have it!" The echidna smiles, small, uncertain, her cheeks pink, voice going infinitely more meek as she continues. "Um, as a memento...if that's okay with you..."

" you think my aunt's --- gonna be pissed? " Lucy said instead. eyes looking around the room. Mapping out all the crooks and crannies, " she didn't see me leave. " she said that out louder for Arthur to hear.

" and . . . it's a look? " mentioning her hair. hands coming up to touch the strands. wrapping a small portion around her finger.

'First blood' comes in the form of Dagny's left shoe, jettisoned against the wooden surface.

"I'M ON TO YOU. Evil ghosts, leave this place! If you don't, you're in big trouble, 'cuz my mom'll get super-mad when she gets back."

Teeth grit and small hands grip the strap of her 'tool-bag' tighter, a pacifier to help steel herself, "But I'M gonna get mad, too! And I'm not tall yet, so it's not gonna take a long time to get there!"

   That statement makes her chew on the inside of her cheek honestly, because that makes her a coward. She saw what happened at the tail end of the war, but there were too many people watching so she just .. left. She could've at least maybe stopped Niffty from doing what she did, at least that's what she thinks. 

" Guess I'm a coward then. " She speaks quietly for a moment, before turning her attention to the other statement. " Oh, uh, yeah. She sort of found me knocked out on the streets basically. Sibling troubles and all that. I won't be here for long if you're worried about that-. "

okay okay i'm going to bed but bet i'm gonna do more things tomorrow but i'm going out to one of the islands for probably the whole day and i'm debating taking my laptop or maybe my ipad. if it's the latter i probably won't even bother with my external hard drive so that i can just write things up and throw in a gif while i'm there! we're gonna keep things real low key tomorrow <3
