Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era
I'm so exited that we're getting a new Heroes of Might and Magic game next year after so long, and set in the original pre-Heroes V continuity, too! Those games were a huge part of my pre-teen and adolescent years.
In Jadame of all places! Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer was one of my favorite entries in the series with its particular atmosphere. The Elemental Planes, Escaton's Crystal, the fact your characters could be Dark Elves, Vampires, Trolls, Minotaurs or Dragons...
Please reblog if you either share my excitement or have no idea what Might and Magic is but would like to find out.

CRPG Progress 2023
I just thought I’d write myself a list of games from the highly-recommended and free CRPG book I sometimes mention.
There is still a lot of stuff from that book that I want to play, as well as other games not mentioned in it.
Ideally I would play at least a little bit of everything on it for the best historical perspective, but in practice I find it difficult enough to finish just my existing backlog so I need to prioritize some things over others.
If a game is marked with a single exclamation mark, it means it sounds particularly interesting to me even beyond its historical significance and I want to try it for at least a couple of hours to see what it’s like.
If a game is marked with two exclamation marks, it means I have played some of it.
If a game is marked with three exclamation marks, it means I have played enough of it to have a reasonably solid idea of how it plays and all.
If a game is marked with four exclamation marks, it means I have reached the end credits or otherwise finished the game at least once.

The Main Quest Part 6: Escaton’s Crystal
Maybe you’ve noticed this red thing in the middle of Ravenshore. It’s subtle, so study the screen shot below just to be sure you find it:
1. Level up, visit trainers, and prepare for hell itself.
2. Hit ‘Enter’ beside the door to activate Fight Mode.
3. Open the door and fight like hell.
4. Set a goal of killing just one single thing and then back out and heal.
5. Fight your way through Escaton’s crystal. Hands down, getting in the door is the hardest part of the entire game.
6. At the far end of the crystal is a pad that will light up in a specific sequence when you click it. The sequence is: Left - Right - Middle - Left - Middle - Right - Left - Right - Left.
7. Turn around and the crystals on the two poles will have turned purple if you did this right. Walk between the two poles and you will exit Escaton’s Crystal into the Plane Between Planes.
Marker #1: A replica of Escaton’s Crystal that acts as your bridge back to Ravenshore if you need it. There are no repair locations or vendors in the Plane Between Planes.
Marker #2: A giant helmet. Enter the helmet and work your way through the maze-like passages, flipping every switch you find. Just keep chugging through it, I have no way to provide you with the map of switch locations.
Once you’ve flipped all the switches and pressed all the buttons in the outside 4 sections (they have stairs, go to the 2nd floor for the buttons), you can approach Escaton’s lair in the middle of the Giant’s Helmet.
Speak to him and answer his 3 riddles in order to receive the Elemental Prison Keys. The answers to the riddles in order are Prison - Inside - Egg. You will have to type each one yourself.
Marker #3: A safe zone within the Planes where you can rest without being interrupted by enemies. You can only access it if you have the flute from the temple north of Ravenshore’s passage to Shadowspire.
Marker #4 - 7: The prisons of the elemental lords. The Prison of the Lord of Water is a fire-based prison, and you will die if you try to walk on the floor without a vampire casting levitation. If you have no vamp in your party, climb the walls.
Once you have freed each elemental lord, return through the crystal to Ravenshore. If you have one of the teleportation spells (Lloyds Beacon or Town Portal), Endgame will only trigger once you go to Ravenshore itself.
** Make sure you’ve done all you wanted to do in terms of looting. You will not be able to return.
After you exit the crystal into Ravenshore, a cutscene will play and you will be given your final score for the game. Scores are based on your experience points, time elapsed between the start and end of the game, and your fame level.
You can find full breakdowns of how to achieve high scores. The score really doesn’t matter and there is no way to reference it after you’re done.
You don’t have to stop playing just because the crystal is gone. The game remains open for you to travel around the world and do whatever you want.

One ship exposes everything wrong with TRoS
Heaven help me, I’m back on my bullshit.
Alright, so, I enjoyed The Rise of Skywalker when I watched it. I actually watched it twice, once on my own when I rushed to see it as soon as possible in order to beat spoilers, and once with my family, in what was a semi-annual new year tradition for us during those four years that a Star Wars film released.
But that doesn’t mean it was good. I enjoyed Transformers: Dark of the Moon the first time I watched it, and that movie’s still a steaming pile of shit. I was admittedly fifteen when I saw DotM, but still.
My point is that I’m fully capable of enjoying crappy films.
But there’s one thing, one thing about TRoS that exemplifies so many of the problems with TRoS as a whole, if not everything (And by that I mean with TRoS specifically, the woeful treatment of John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran is a Whole Trilogy Problem). And it’s a ship. Specifically this ship.
The Resistance Y-Wing. I hate this ship with the fiery passion of an exploding star, and to talk about why, we need to first go back to The Last Jedi and its conspicuous lack of Y-Wings.
One of the things that I disliked most about the Sequels before TRoS put all the other problems into stark light was the lack of new ships. Instead of new vehicles, we got shinier, sleeker versions of the ships from the original trilogy. And I disliked this because it’s the opposite of what the Prequels did.
Episodes I-III don’t feature more primitive versions of the X-Wing and TIE Fighter, but instead have similar vehicles that evoke the classics while still having an identity of their own.
The ARC-170 looks kinda like an X-Wing, but it’s bigger and has more weapons and crew, and you get why the well-funded Republic can afford things like this while the scrappy Rebels can’t.
The Eta-2 is a predecessor to the TIE Fighter, but it being employed exclusively by Jedi makes a lot of sense, of course a precognitive wizard with superhuman reflexes can do well in a light, unshielded ship, while in the hands of the Empire’s military they’re just expendable swarm fighters.
But then in the Sequels, rather than evolve the ships into new forms, they just made new incarnations of the X-Wing, TIE Fighter, A-Wing, TIE Interceptor, B-Wing, and of course the Y-Wing.
Well, except for one movie: The Last Jedi.
At the outset of the film, we’re introduced to this ship.
This is the MG-100 StarFortress, AKA “That ship all the Star Wars Youtubers hate”. It’s designed to be a much heavier and bulkier version of the B-Wing Starfighter, and is even made by the same people.
From questions about how the bombs “fall” toward the Dreadnought (The answer is magnets) to claims that they’re completely useless because most of the ones in the film died so easily, these things have been put through the wringer by the fandom, and honestly they don’t deserve it? What destroyed the StarFortresses in the film wasn’t their own weaknesses, but them being deployed in too tight a formation. It was a tactical fuckup, not a problem with the ship’s design.
And given that the whole point of the battle over D’Qar is that Poe makes a tactical fuckup to kickstart his development into the new leader of the Resistance as a whole, adding another layer makes sense to me.
But we live in a post-CinemaSins world of media consumption, where every plot-point that isn’t spelled out with a flowchart and an audio commentary by the writers is actually a plothole.
We also live in an era where Star Wars fans pine for the days of the Legends canon where everything about new ships, species, and worlds was explained in background lore and books, and are angry that the new Canon is... doing exactly the same thing?
Seriously, how much exposition and lore dumping is actually present in any of the Star Wars films? Not a whole lot. And that applies to all three eras.
So the StarFortress’ appearance in the film and the lack of Y-Wings led to a bevy of armchair writers demanding to know why the Resistance weren’t using Y-Wings and why they were using those “Resistance Bombers” that are just ‘terrible’.
Answer? Because the Y-Wings sucked shit.
Seriously, go back to the Original Trilogy and try to keep track of the Y-Wings, and see what they actually do, and you’ll find that what they do is “Explode, mostly.”
We’re first introduced to the Y-Wings in A New Hope, and they’re supposed to be the ones performing the Trench Run while the X-Wings cover them, and to their credit, they try.
And then they all get blown up by Vader and his wingmen before they can even take a shot at the exhaust port. Well, except that one that appears with the rebel ships flying away from the Death Star.
Where the fuck were you when the X-Wings were doing the attack run?
The Y-Wings got absolutely wrecked.
Ancillary media would go on to explain that the Y-Wings were beat-up old vehicles that were no longer fit for purpose, but the Rebels had to use them anyway because they had basically no money. They’d stripped down the ships and removed a bunch of their more costly features just to make them viable, and the results of that were pretty clear.
Of course, the Y-Wings were still present in the later films. They don’t do anything in The Empire Strikes Back, but they play a role in Return of the Jedi.
Naturally, that role is mostly “Get blown up while the other ships do the important stuff”.
Despite supposedly being a fighter-bomber that was designed to do significant damage to capital ships, does the Y-Wing play a role in the destruction of the Executor? Does it fuck. Destroying the Imperial flagship’s deflector shields and the subsequent suicidal ram attack on the bridge are tasks that are both performed by the goddamn A-Wings. Y’know, the light interceptors?
The Y-Wings get shown up at their own job by the ships that are there to protect them from TIE Fighters.
Ancillary media again explains why they’re still there. While the Rebels have a newer, better fighter-bomber in the B-Wing, the B-Wing is expensive as fuck and also really difficult to fly.
A non-centreline cockpit that rotates will do that to a ship.
Still, the B-Wing was a better bomber than the Y-Wing ever was (And the StarFortress was better than them both at that role).
All this adds up to a simple fact: There were very good reasons why the Resistance weren’t using Y-Wings. And there were even reasonable reasons to choose the StarFortress compared to the B-Wing itself, given that the Resistance are still undermanned and under-funded, especially with the New Republic getting nuked midway through The Force Awakens. It being easier to fly and having more armaments would have made it a viable choice for the Resistance.
Buuuut oops, people didn’t like the StarFortress and we can’t make the Internet angry at us again! Better put the Y-Wings back in for Episode IX, and show them destroying a Xyston-class Destroyer, that’ll make them happy!
And sure, okay, giving the Resistance a fighter/bomber is probably a good idea. And they already have New X-Wings and New A-Wings, so where’s the harm in a New Y-Wing?
Alright, alright, sure. But why the fuck does it look like this?
If this is a new ship, why is it already stripped-down like the ones in the Original Trilogy? Why doesn’t it look like the actual brand-new Y-Wings we saw in The Clone Wars?
Now that’s more like it. Still visibly a Y-Wing, but with more of an identity of its own.
Seriously, “Literally the same ship but without its armour pulled off” has more of a unique identity than the crowd-pleasing New Y-Wing.
And that, in and of itself, is the essence of The Rise of Skywalker.
It’s blind, empty fanservice, rushing to include as much nostalgia-pandering as possible to try and get the fanbase back on-side after The Last Jedi didn’t do what the fanboys wanted it to do.
This is a whole near- three hour movie whose only message is “Yes, Youtubers making TFA critiques longer than an entire season of TCW, we hear you, we’ll make it for you, please love us!”
And, almost entirely predictably, it was shite.
It was riddled with plotholes and none of the scenes had any time to breathe because the movie was too desperately trying to rush itself to the next crowd-pleasing scene in a desperate attempt to wank off as many disgruntled fanboys as it possibly could.
Luke with his green saber! Jedi Leia! Chewie gets a medal! Lando! Luke raises his X-Wing out of the water! The main villain is a testicle in a bathrobe again! Snork origin! Original-flavour Star Destroyers! Rose doesn’t exist! Rey had a super-special secret magical bloodline the whole time and Luke and Leia totally knew even though Luke has literally no idea who she is in Episode VIII! Luke actually was just afraid of the bad guys in Episode VII, none of that self-imposed exile for his own mistakes nonsense! Y-Wings.
I mean fuck. Disagree with Luke’s portrayal in TLJ all you like, I certainly have my issues with it, but I lay those at the feet of JJ for making Luke’s absence into one of his fucking Mystery Boxes, and then deciding that, even though last time Luke sensed Leia and Han might be in danger, he abandoned his Jedi training, hopped in an X-Wing, and flew halfway across the galaxy to try and save them, he wouldn’t do shit when the First Order pointed a star-powered System-Killer 9000 at Leia, and Han got himself killed trying to redeem Kyle Ron. Like how in fuck was Rian supposed to explain Luke’s inaction in VII?
But regardless of the problems with that Luke portrayal, at least Mark Hamill gave it his all. Hell, it might be his best performance in the Star Wars franchise!
In TRoS, he shows up in a bad wig, waves a middle finger at TLJ, and ascends to his final form as a Lightsaber Delivery Boy, because apparently all you need to kill a Sith who literally clawed his way back from death is two lightsabers. Haunting Kyle Ron? Nope. Providing guidance as a ghost? Not really.
And y’know what the kicker is? It didn’t fucking work. Lucasfilm and Disney fucking gutted this trilogy, sliced out the integrity, surgically removed the soul of Episode IX in a desperate effort to make the Internet’s most unpleasable fanbase happy, and it didn’t work. They still hate it! Now they just concoct hour-long videos about how much they would’ve preferred to have the Trevorrow script (Which is admittedly much better, albeit still with it’s far share of giant flaws), which was probably thrown out because it wasn’t fanservicey enough!
The Rise of Skywalker is an awful film. It’s a loose collection of nostalgia-baiting moments, roughly stapled together around the skeleton of a plot that was never properly developed. It’s a Frankenstein’s Monster of a movie, but, and I say this with full offense, the Victor Frankenstein in this tragic story isn’t Lucasfilm or Disney or Kathleen Kennedy or Rian Johnson, or even JJ Abrams. It’s you, Star Wars Fandom. It is your monster.

Yes, I was on mobile. And no, it wasn't bad!! It was a neat game I had never heard of before! Probably cause I was 3 when it came out lol
Yeah, I was pretty young XD
My grandfather was playing it when we came to visit. He loved computer games but never replayed a single one. He always had the huge Prima guide all earmarked and had notebooks of strategy because he’d do all this research before playing, then just hand the game and the guide over to my brother and I when we came to visit XD
I think MM8 (Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer is the full title) was the first computer game he passed to us because he figured it is basic enough to play. When you kill an enemy you can activate a setting to produce blood splatters, but it’s like 2000-era splatters, so nothing too violent XD
Even though when I said I clear the maps what that means for every map EXCEPT Dagger Wound Island is that I kill all the innocent people in the cities too... tee hee.
It’s a good game though, if you can find it. TBH when i said my brother gave me a flash drive he DID, but I actually downloaded the game from Dropbox XD You can find copies floating around out there if you want to try playing it! It’s a much bigger game than my little demo showed :)
#ask#Anonymous#i never put effort into clearing more than the interiors on dagger wound#because most of the mobs outside are set to re-spawn every few minutes#because it is the site of the pirate/lizardmen war#but once you get through the alliance questlines in the game you actually have to go to the pirate homemap and destroy their entire fleet#so after that Dagger Wound behaves like a normal map

Might and Magic is a series of role-playing video games from New World Computing, which in 1996 became a subsidiary of The 3DO Company. The original Might and Magic series ended with the closure of the 3DO Company. The rights to the Might and Magic name were purchased for US$1.3 million by Ubisoft,(1) who 'rebooted' the franchise with a new series with no apparent connection to the previous continuity, starting with the games Heroes of Might and Magic V and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

Heroes Of Might And Magic 6 Wiki
Gameplay(edit)
The majority of the gameplay takes place in a medieval fantasy setting, while later sections of the games are often based on science fiction tropes, the transition often serving as a plot twist. The player controls a party of player characters, which can consist of members of various character classes. The game world is presented to the player in first person perspective. In the earlier games the interface is very similar to that of Bard's Tale, but from Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven onward, the interface features a three-dimensional environment. Combat is turn-based, though the later games allowed the player to choose to conduct combat in real time.
The game worlds in all of the Might and Magic games are quite large, and a player can expect each game to provide several dozen hours of gameplay. It is usually quite combat-intensive and often involves large groups of enemy creatures. Monsters and situations encountered throughout the series tend to be well-known fantasy staples such as giant rats, werewolf curses, dragon flights and zombie hordes, rather than original creations. Isles of Terra and the Xeen games featured a more distinct environment, blending fantasy and science fiction elements in a unique way.

The Might and Magic games have some replay value as the player can choose their party composition, develop different skills, choose sides, do quests in a different order, hunt for hidden secrets and easter eggs, and/or change difficulty level.
Plot(edit)
Although most of the gameplay reflects a distinctly fantasy genre, the overarching plot of the first nine games has something of a science fiction background. The series is set in a fictional galaxy as part of an alternative universe, where planets are overseen by a powerful race of space travelers known as Ancients. In each of the games, a party of characters fights monsters and completes quests on one of these planets, until they eventually become involved in the affairs of the Ancients. Might and Magic could as such be considered an example of science fantasy.
The producer of the series was Jon Van Caneghem.(2) Van Caneghem has stated in interview(3) that the Might and Magic setting is inspired by his love for both science fiction and fantasy. He cites The Twilight Zone and the Star Trek episode For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky as having inspired Might and Magic lore.
The first five games in the series concern the renegade guardian of the planet Terra, named Sheltem, who becomes irrevocably corrupted, developing a penchant for throwing planets into their suns. Sheltem establishes himself on a series of flat worlds known as nacelles (which are implied to be giant spaceships) and Corak, a second guardian and creation of the Ancients, with the assistance of the player characters, pursues him across the Void. Eventually both Corak and Sheltem are destroyed in a climactic battle on the nacelle of Xeen.
The sixth, seventh and eighth games take place on Enroth, a single planet partially ruled by the Ironfist dynasty, and chronicle the events and aftermath of an invasion by the Kreegan (colloquially referred to as Devils), the demonlike arch-enemies of the Ancients. It is also revealed that the destruction wrought by the Ancients' wars with the Kreegan is the reason why the worlds of Might & Magic exist as medieval fantasy settings despite once being seeded with futuristic technology – the worlds have been 'cut off' from the Ancients and descended into barbarism. The first through third games in the Heroes of Might and Magic series traces the fortunes of the Ironfists in more detail. None of the science fiction elements appear in the Heroes series besides the appearance of Kreegan characters in Heroes of Might and Magic III and IV.
The Ubisoft release Might & Magic X: Legacy departs from this continuity and is set in the world of Ashan.(4) Ashan is a high fantasy setting with no science fiction elements in its lore.(5)Flv player for mac os.
Reception(edit)
Might and Magic is considered one of the defining examples of early role-playing video games, along with The Bard's Tale, Ultima and Wizardry series.(6) By March 1994, combined sales of the Might and Magic series totaled 1 million units.(7) The number rose to 2.5 million sales by November 1996.(8) and 4 million by March 1999.(9)

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Google Stadia, desgraciadamente, no admite MODs.
Doom Eternal
DOOM 2016
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Trilogía Tomb Raider
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
Baldur’s Gate III
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint

The Main Quest Part 5: The Elemental Planes
** Once again visit an academy, distribute skill points, and train up before even attempting to begin this. If you have a Necromancer or Dark Elf with Invisibility, you can have some fun here **
1. Speak to Edgar Fellmoon in the Merchant House and he will tell you to speak to the wizard Xanthor. He is in the house immediately west of Escaton’s Crystal.
2. You will be tasked with retrieving the 4 elemental heartstones. To get these, you must enter the elemental planes and fight your way through. Exactly what you do differs depending on the plane.
Plane of Air: Murmmurwoods (Entrance in the blasted zone in the middle-north end of the map)
Marker #1: Entrance/Exit
Marker #2: Palace of Air. Enter the palace and fight your way to the 2nd floor, where a false wall hides the Heart of Air. If you have Wizard Eye either via a Dark Elf or a Grandmaster of Air Necromancer, it will appear on your mini map as a blue triangle.
Marker #3: Trainer for Grandmaster of Air. So hit this while you’re here if you have a necromancer who is level 10 of the Air skill (and already trained to Master)
Plane of Earth (Dagger Wound, Marker #6 on Map)
I do not have a map for the Plane of Earth. The Plane of Earth is the only Elemental Plane to register as an entirely indoor location. It is a multi-story web of overlapping tunnels, which makes the in-game map useless.
Fight your way through the halls until you find a massive cavern. At the back is an elevator. Take it down and fight your way up the stairs and around the corner to reach the Heart of Earth.
Plane of Fire (Ironsand Desert, in the North East)
Marker #1: Entrance/Exit
Marker #2: Palace of Fire
Head to the room on the right (keep in mind the floor is lava) and you will see a spiral stair winding upwards. You will be on an increasingly narrow path suspended over lava. Unless you have a vampire with the levitation ability, if you fall you will most likely die.
Save often, and work your way along the path through to the last room, where a tall circular spire sits. Jump on it (get back up and try again if need be) until the spire gradually slides down on its own.
Carefully return to the entrance of the Palace of Fire. That big column that was blocking your path is now down. Step on it and it will raise you up. Fight your way through the Palace of Fire until you get to a room with a lava waterfall. On the 2nd level of platforms is a pedestal with a button.
Press the button, then jump into the lava waterfall. There is a portal behind it that will take you to a tunnel of spinning fire. If you’re prone to visual issues (seizure triggers or motion sickness), look away and use the auto-fire key to attack until the enemies are dead, then move forward to the far side and use the 2nd teleporter to reach the Heartstone Vault.
Marker #3: Trainer: Grandmaster of Fire Magic
Marker #4: A fire war camp that has a rare item or two but really isn’t worth the work to clean it out.
Plane of Water (Ravage Roaming, on the West side in the middle of the bay beside the Ogre Fortress)
Marker #1: Entrance/Exit
Marker #2: Trainer: Grandmaster of Water Magic
Marker #3: Heart of Water, sitting out in the open surrounded by enemies.
Once you have all 4 hearts, return to Xanthor and activate a cut scene.

Zombi
We got our first look at Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Watch Dogs Legion at E3 2019. Made by the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey team, Gods & Monsters essentially takes the Atlantis storyline of Odyssey and expands upon it into a full-fledged game where you hunt down monsters from Greek mythology with the weapons and powers of the gods. Rainbow Six Quarantine is a standalone version of Rainbow Six Siege’s limited-time Outbreak mode, which sees Team Rainbow’s Operators fight against waves of zombified humans to stop an infection in PvE combat. Watch Dogs Legion takes the franchise to London, expanding your options in how you take fight tyranny by allowing you to play as any NPC in the city.

[52 Games] Thema 32: Through the Looking Glass

The Main Quest Part 4: Sinking the Regnan Fleet
** You either need someone with the water magic spell “Water Walking”, a scroll of Water Walking, or a flying dragon in order to complete this section.
1. Referencing the map of Dagger Wound Island, you want to head towards #4, that small island. Previously, if you explored the area, there was nothing there. Now there will be a building.
2. Fight your way through the building. Note one stack of crates has a large button atop it. Press it to move the stack and reveal the hidden portion of the fort.
3. Fight your way through to the room in the northernmost part. Kill everyone in that room, and loot a key off the body of the pirate Blackwell Cooper (in red). Click on the keypad on the wall to open the back wall and reveal a submarine bay.
4. Heal your party. Trust me.
5. Click on the submarine to be transported to Regna Island. Kill everyone in the submarine bay. While in Dagger Wound the enemies were Dagger Wound level (weak), Regnan pirates are comparatively very strong. Be ready for a heck of a fight.
6. Exit the Submarine pen. Note that at this point if you return to Ravenshore before the Regnan fleet is sunk, pirates will invade Ravenshore and the city will wholly lock down until you deal with every last one. If you just play through and destroy the Regnan fleet, the invasion will not happen.
7. Climb or fly up to the fortress immediately above. Enter the fortress and kill everyone.
8. Taking the elevator on the right will bring you to a hall filled with enemies. Fight your way to a staircase leading down in the side of the hall, it isn’t far from the elevator.
9. You’ll see a whole wall glowing red. Click it and the wall will fall, revealing a passage to the tunnels beneath Regna.
10. Fight your way through the tunnels to the far side. It doesn’t matter which of the path forks you take, they all lead the same place. HOWEVER, when you first enter the tunnel there are paths on your right and left. These lead back up to the surface and open extra little escape paths for you.
11. At the far end of the tunnels, enter the Pirate Keep.
12. Fight your way through to a large open room with ogre warlocks inside and treasure chests on a second level. One will have a canon ball in it.
13. Take the canon ball and keep fighting your way to the other end of the Pirate Keep. You’ll have to open a door and fight through a crowded room to escape.
14. Just outside, you’ll see slightly to your left a large platform with a huge canon on it. Go to the platform and you will see a gray pad. Click it and you will be prompted “You hear a low rumbling noise”
15. Doesn’t matter if you’re flying or standing, you’ll be thrown back when the canon erupts. The entire Regnan fleet will be destroyed.
