A hidden fire - is his drive at 100%!?

Reigen’s past was depicted in Episode 6. Without having any kind of plan set in stone, he quit his job and straight away rented out the office… he left everything to chance - quite surprising, isn’t it? However, after deciding that he’d open S&S, his drive can only be described as amazing. Even in the present, that hasn’t changed about him, has it?

(TopPic) His previous job was confirmed to be as that of a water filter salesman!

(BottomPic) Reigen, after deciding that he’d restart S&S alone. The scene that plays homage to the season 1 outro gets the heart racing!

His new, rebuilt relationship with his disciple

Reigen becomes aware of the gradual changes that have started to appear in Mob. He has every intention to use Mob, who is currently going through puberty - however, he still respects Mob’s feelings. Reigen’s monologue where he expresses his awareness of what Mob is going through is impressive. With Mob changing in front of his very eyes, perhaps Reigen was also able to change once more. [TN: This section is in reference to S2E3 if you’re confused]

(TopPic) Reigen’s expression when he looks at Mob, whose emotions were made to explode, is painful to look at. -Episode 9

(MidPic) The disciple who has started to change. Reigen gently supports him. -Episode 3

(BottomPic) Mob made a momentous decision, and Reigen supports his disciple with all his might! A switch-around of their previous dynamic, you could say.

Straying from his shallow “charm”, showing his true feelings

It’s hard to count the amount of characters who have been touched by Reigen’s words. In episode 9, the former members of Claw gather upon Reigen asking them to. His vaguely annoyed expression is so very different to the expression he used to wear when he’d go to Bar Happy Trail, scouting for potential new customers among the “weak people” there.

(TopPic) Even while being pampered at the bar, his expression is that of vague dissatisfaction.

(PicBottom) Every person gathered, being lectured by Reigen. It’s when he’s not playing the role of director of S&S that his charm truly shines… perhaps.

His ‘True Self’, visible from the beginning

In response to Reigen confessing that he has been deceiving Mob from the very beginning, Mob takes the words he had formerly received from Reigen - the words he had set as a personal goal - and returns them to him. “A good person”. For Mob, it doesn’t matter if Reigen has or doesn’t have powers. Reigen is his “Shishou” because he represents the “good person” we should all aim to be. 

(Pic) “My Shishou’s true identity… he’s a good person.” Without a doubt, the ramen they ate together on their journey home was saltier than usual.

ONE: Please stop reading the table of contents and then writing a book report based just off of that.

ITOU: Let’s stop telling lies to people, haha. And let’s contribute a little more seriously to society.

TACHIKAWA: It would be nice if he could make the most of his talents in another area… haha. He said “I’ll teach you how to use your powers” and in a way, I think he’s done a great job at doing that. If he were to try and find a way in which he could make the most of his abilities as a teacher in that sense, I wonder what would happen?

i've always wanted to revisit this star trails concept i did nearly a decade ago, but my camera battery never lasts the night. i woke up at 3 am to capture these star trails from 4:26 - 5:05 am
