Baozhi: ever since i introduced mid-autumn lanterns to them, they’ve been having lantern fights. The lanterns have lit candles in them.

A little something I made for Mid-Autumn Festival.

I used crayons for the dragon and rabbit, watercolor pens for the background, and my ID card for the texture.

Yes, I know they are a seafood restaurant, but Swatow Seafood Restaurant (汕头海鲜) has some of the most beautifully crafted mooncakes I have seen this year. The Flaky Teochew Golden Lotus Blossom Delight (金莎荷花酥) with uniquely crafted golden sand chocolate ball filling, crispy outer layer, is perfect for sharing with friends and family during the festive season.

If lotus flower isn’t your type, how about Flaky Teochew Peach Blossom Double Delight (桃花双拼). Each box contains two pieces of Sweet Coconut Paste Mooncakes (酥皮椰香) and two pieces of Savoury X.O Scallop Paste Mooncakes (酥皮X.O干贝).

The traditional Teochew “La Piah” (潮州双拼大朥饼) pastry, measured 18cm in diameter. Multi-layered crispy skin embraces delectable lotus paste and red bean paste, adorned with five egg yolks. This sweet and savoury combination will surely entice your appetite.

Their Mini Flaky Teochew “Orh Nee” Yam Paste with Yolk (迷你潮州香芋酥) has a gorgeous looking purple and white flaky shell filled with yam/taro paste and one salted yolk. You can also buy the Galaxy’s Eight Delights (八星伴月礼篮) set with eight mini yam mooncakes and one Traditional Teochew “La Piah”.

following @crazed-lamb-leg-enthusiast's post on Mid-Autumn lanterns and glowsticks, I decided to dedicate some art!

The Moonrise Festival is one of our biggest festivals. I’ve yet to popularize this event where I currently live, but take a walk anywhere in Celinia and you just might see a wave of lanterns floating over you.

This tradition is based on a legend that earned Mother her title as the Moon Goddess - that the moon itself is a giant lantern she released into the night sky. It’s said that with this “greatest” invention of hers, we never have to worry about vampire attacks here on the surface.

So once a year, when the moon turns bluish and full, every family raises a flying lantern in celebration of this revolutionary moment, including my own.

September and October are some of the busiest months in our world… the birthdays of the Primordial Gods all fall within this period. I haven’t even started working on Aluros’ birthday gift yet and it’s in less than two weeks 😱😱😱
