You find out you’re pregnant a couple weeks after the “fun” night you and Mickey had on the beach.

You have it planned out. You and Mickey hangout on the beach after his DJ set. You tell him you have a surprise for him and show him the positive pregnancy test. A smile grows on his face and he hugs you, spinning you around causing the two of you to fall down in the sand. You land on top of Mickey.

Mickey would be ecstatic that he’s going to be a dad.

He holds your hair during your morning sickness.

After your morning sickness, you demand cuddles which he happily gives you.

Mickey telling you how much he wants a daughter or a son or both.

He can’t get over your beauty when your baby bump starts growing.

Mickey already bought your favorite snacks and foods before you ask.

Him holding you when you’re crying over something that shouldn’t be cried over.

Him giving your belly soft kisses.

You stealing his short sleeve button up shirts cause why not.

Mickey working extra DJ gigs for extra money.

You waking up in the middle of the night, because the baby decided that you should be awake so Mickey rubs his hand on your baby bump to calm the baby down so you can get some sleep.

You telling Mickey about the cravings you’re having.

Kisses and cuddles.

You and Mickey coming up with names for the baby together.

You and Mickey agreeing on what the design of the nursery should be.

You complaining about your feet hurting and Mickey gives you a foot massage while watching your favorite movie.

Those are plausible explanations for Mav and Bob’s callsigns, but I posit these:

Mav: Literally went the wrong way during a flight school hop, without intending to at all.

Bob: Went bobbing for apples during the holidays; brained himself on the side of the barrel.

Top Gun Call Signs

In the actual military, no one has a cool call sign. You get your call sign from your unit, and it’s typically because of something stupid you did. So, by that logic, here are the real reasons for Top Gun call signs:

Iceman - Repeatedly slipped on the tarmac.

Maverick - CO told the unit ‘Dumb Fuck’ and ‘Shithead’ were not acceptable call signs, so Pete got to pick his own.

Slider - Walked in to a sliding door.

Rooster - Clumsy fuck who wakes everyone up in the morning.

Goose - Self explanatory.

Bob - Self explanatory.

Wolfman - Has a hairy back.

Hollywood - Uses a disgusting amount of hair spray in the locker room.

Hangman - Shitty speller.

Cyclone - Did too many barrel rolls and puked.

Phoenix - Crashed her plane/ lit something on fire.

Payback - Loses bets.

Coyote - What’s the most expensive way to kill a coyote? With an airplane. (This actually happened to a real pilot btw).

Halo - Ass kisser.

Fanboy - Owns anime figurines.

Merlin - Plays DnD.

Warlock - Ran the DnD campaign.

where did the quintuplets go after duke died? did they go into foster care or did viper manage to get custody of all of them?

If they went into foster care they prolly got separated and stuff...were they old enough to remember each other? Or did they forget until they somehow bumped into each other figured it out? Did viper manage to tell Pete and they tracked down the other four?

OR WHAT IF. what if viper managed to get custody of some of them but not Pete? Like he always tells them about their brother and they know he exists but Pete thinks he's alone...until he bumps into 4 copies of himself on base and then they manage to tell him about what happened. Pete needs time to process and goose holds him as he cries.

OR- viper gets custody of all of them and raises 5 boys and two girls (because he's a girl dad obvi) and they get up to all kinds of ridiculous stuff and they actually managed to get jester to loosen up around them as a kid and it's stressful parenting all of them but viper wouldn't have it any other way

AHHHHHH!!!! I love your headcanons for the Quints growing up!!! Viper does get them eventually! But their childhood followed the same sad trajectory as another set of miracle identical quintuplets born about a decade before them (the Dionne Quints).

The AU is called Quintland, because back in the ‘50s — five identical little girls were raised in what was a essentially a theme park fishbowl for people to gawk at them. The same way we do today with reality shows of multiple birth families (Jon & Kate + 8, Outdaughtered etc).

The Mitchell Quints spent the first couple years of their life living on a Kentucky farm in the middle of nowhere. But after their father died and their mother took her own life, the doctor who saved their lives and kept the secret of their birth — finally took custody of them and started selling their images to the public. They essentially grew up as a traveling sideshow act. They weren't loved, except by each other, they were just used to sell stuff, perform like toys and be harrassed by crowds.

Eventually, Viper found out what was happening and took custody of the boys at twelve. But so much damage had already been done. Still, they enjoyed a great life with the Metcalfs and so many of them went Navy because they love Viper so much.

Captain Lynden Henry “Lynds” is the oldest and is a flight surgeon, but spends a lot of time in and out of Navy Medical on the ground. He's the leader of the Quints, and his brothers complain about the massive stick that lives up his ass.

Theodore Payton “Teddy” is a much loved father of two, his wife’s name is Patty and he's a kindergarten teacher. He would not touch the Navy with a ten foot pole. His kids are named Madeline and Mickey.

Captain Kiffin Roosevelt “Kiff” is obsessed with how things work and that's why he's an EDO, an engineering duty officer. He spends most of his days working on something, so he's either sleep-deprived, sticky or both. His brothers can tell what he's thinking by the look on his face.

Lt. Michael Mallory “Mal” is next and he's a priest turned Navy Chaplain. He and Mav annoy the shit out of each other and will actively try to gore each others’ eyes out on sight 😅

That's a very BROAD ask. I'm not 100% certain if the following is exactly the answer you want. I'll be honest, I think it would be too much if I gave you every headcanon I have, so I'll just pick a few angsty ones that I haven't really shared. If you want any specific character headcanons, it might be easier to ask for then outright - I would be happy to share!

TTTE:

Flying Scotsman, for all his bluster, has a lot of unresolved trauma from his time hiding in America and from the loss of his siblings. When he returned home, he became convinced that Mallard wanted to take his position as public head of the Gresley family (officially, this is actually Gordon), and the two are no longer speaking. He also has an irrational jealousy towards Henry, not only for 'stealing' his position of Gordon's brother, but is also convinced that Henry is trying to take control of the family. Without the support system of friends and family, Scotsman has no way of handling these issues until he is forced to after a mental breakdown.

Spencer's position as a private engine has made him a figure of scorn outside of Sodor. Private engines, though benefitting from the security of their status, are looked down upon by engines on the mainland due to their limited workloads and better variety of routes. Years of being shunned and told he is a 'toy' or 'pet' engine, who has no understanding of hard work, has made Spencer's early life a very lonely one, and he struggled to form many relationships as he had no idea how to behave until he was able to spend more time on Sodor.

Though he would never admit it, Diesel is terrified of being sent away from Sodor. During recent visits, he has discovered that most of his friends have been scrapped, and he knows another failure will result in his own last trip to the scrapyard.

Thomas has developed an attachment to Edward, whom he had been assigned to by Sir Topham Hatt I, which was a common practice for broody engines and orphan engines. Unfortunately, he left them together for too long, resulting in Thomas imprinting on Edward. Though he is much improved, Thomas wants nothing more than than to become Edward's son for real, which is why he tried dating Lady.

Big Mickey is the son of Big Mickey from TUGs, but became nonverbal after the death of his father, and was unable to speak until he had been on Sodor for many years. He has a very rational phobia of military vessels and vehicles, which render him immobile.

TUGS:

Hercules, though he has become an expert in masking them, has very serious attachment issues. In particular, he is overly attached to his grandfather, Captain Starr, to the extent that he gets jealous when one of his siblings seems to be getting more attention than he is. This is due to the emotional neglect administered by his father.

Zorran took great pride in his status as a family man, working hard to provide his wife and five children with a better life. However, he learned that his wife had been cheating on him with multiple partners when she left him for one of them. In an attempt to save face, she tried to spread rumours that Zorran was an abusive husband and father due to being in an inappropriate relationship with his sister, Ziva. Although none of this was true, and was quickly proven to be lies, the betrayal hit Zorran hard, causing him to lash out at his fleet, in particular his nephew Zip. He is slowly trying to put his life back together, and currently has full custody of his eldest son, Zane.

Zebedee is dealing with the agony of being forcibly separated from his wife, children, and family after almost killing his ex brother-in-law. His two youngest sons are almost strangers to him, and missing the milestones of their (and their siblings) childhood years is especially hard for him. He is currently conflicted about his position within the Zero fleet, for fear that his sentence may be extended due to the fleets legally questionable connections.

Zug is extremely lonely, and it is largely his own actions that have caused it. Due to his habit of snitching to Zorran about their actions, Zebedee is very cautious and short with him and Zak has actually made serious physical threats if he sees Zug hanging around them. Though Zorran has made use of Zug's snitching, he still has no time for the Estonian switcher, and Captain Zero is no better. Zip is the only one who is kind to him, but Zug has noticed that the others are much nicer to Zip, so how long will that last?

Grampus has developed agoraphobia after an incident in the Great War (WWI). He is alright in familiar environments, such as around the port, but is prone to panic attacks if he goes much further than Dem Der Rocks unless he has a specific task to complete.

Sunshine, like his twin sister, was the victim of maternal neglect due to their mother's mental health and bullying due to their lack of a father. However, Sunshine suffered additional abuse from bullies while protecting his sister. This has begun to take its toll, and now they have a family and the security they never had, the cracks are beginning to show...

Inspired by @storiesbyrhi and The Grimoire companion to Burning Yarrow.

As Above, So Below is a Kas!Eddie AU based on Van Helsing (2004) that mainly takes place in a post Season 5 world and contains many Easter eggs and references to Religion, Catholicism, Mythology, Dungeons and Dragons, Literature, and other Media. The story can be enjoyed with or without previous knowledge of all, and most overt references will be explained within the chapters themselves.

If there are things you see that make you pause, please look for explanations. Some may have linked sources. (References are organized in chapter order and will be updated upon the release of a new chapter.)

If there are any additional references that I might have missed, please let me know.

Please note before you continue, this story is one that has and will continue to criticize religion heavily. But oftentimes, in order to criticize something, it must also be used as a tool. AASB is not meant to proselytize in any way shape or form. It's only for fucking vampires.

Story-wide References and Headcanons

The Knight - Original Female Character, written in the 2nd Person POV (you/your). The knight has few, if any, physical descriptors and is unnamed. Although the transition to an OC was done for inclusivity, this has evolved into a stylistic choice. The Knight is all but unknown to everyone except Eddie. She even struggles to know herself. She has a loss of identity, has been used as a tool, and has been stripped of autonomy for most of her life and she is looking to finally take control. This is her story.

Knights of the Holy Order - A fictional group modeled after an organization of the same name from Van Helsing (2004). A collection of individuals with abilities (akin to Eleven/Kali/Henry etc.) who strive to rid the world of Darkness and protect the Light. Though the group is not tied to any one religious affiliation, the belief is that these individuals were given their abilities by a "God" and therefore receive missions and tasks through leadership figures from predominantly Western religions. Although they share an understanding that all beliefs are valid and have weight in the "mortal realm."

Hyacinth - A blue-purple spring-blooming flower that symbolizes the desire for forgiveness.

Gabriel the Archangel - An angel with the power to announce God's will to humans. Though revered as a Saint in Christianity/Catholicism, angels and Gabriel specifically have been mentioned and used as messengers in Judaism and Islam as well.

Saint - A figure in Catholicism and Orthodox Christian religions that is holy or virtuous and acknowledged as being in Heaven after death. Saints typically have a "patronage," meaning there is something tied to their life that they "oversee." (eg. Saint Anthony of Padua was a Franciscan monk in the 13th Century who was given sainthood and holds patronage over Lost Items and Lost People.)

Mickey Caldwell & Jack Shephard - Minor OCs and classmates of Eddie's that make up "Corroded Coffin V1" prior to Eddie's failing senior year the first time. Both boys move away from Hawkins for college in the Summer of 1984. Mickey is the original drummer, and Jack is the original Bass player.

"Reefer" Rick Lipton - Rick Lipton, though a canon character from Season 4 of Stranger Things, is written as a minor OC. He is a Vietnam veteran, he used to date Eddie's mom before she passed, and Eddie views him as a pseudo step-dad.

Feast Day - A day on the Catholic calendar devoted to the celebration or veneration of something or someone important to the faith.

Numerology - The belief that there is a divine relevance between numbers and coinciding events.

Prequels: Heaven, Hell, & Purgatory

Paladin - Playable character class in DnD; the character is a knight who has devoted themselves to goodness and light and fights in service of a deity. The Paladin has a code of conduct and are expected to embody goodness. In older editions of DnD, if the Paladin conducted dark or evil acts, they would lose their holy abilities.

Book of Revelation - The final book in the Christian Bible, often refuted, that supposedly predicts the apocalypse.

Purgatory - A place or state of suffering in which sinners atone before going to Heaven.

September 8 - Feast Day of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary

September 15 - Feast Day of Our Lady of Sorrows

September 21 - Feast Day of Saint Matthew, a sinner turned saint.

September 23 - Feast of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, who reportedly could heal by touch.

September 29 - Feast Day of the Archangels Gabriel, Raphael, and Michael

1987 Whittier Narrows Earthquake - Real life event, occurred October 1st, 1987 in the San Gabriel Valley of California.

21 - A number symbolizing a new era of life. Biblically it also symbolizes great strife, sin, and rebellion.

Prologue: Annunciation

March 25 - Feast of the Annunciation

Annunciation - The event signifying Gabriel the Archangel's visit to the Virgin Mary to inform her of her Holy Fate.

Doctor Anton Phibes - A character from the 1971 Cult Classic, The Abominable Doctor Phibes starring Vincent Price. In the film, Phibes uses the Ten Plagues of Egypt in a ritual to resurrect his dead wife.

Jinette - A character from Van Helsing (2004). Jinette is an Archbishop, then Cardinal, in the Catholic Church for the diocese of Los Angeles. While members of the Holy Order are in Los Angeles, he is their contact and delivers missions and tasks for them.

March 27, 1986 - Canonically, the day of Eddie Munson's Death.

March 30, 1986 - Easter Sunday, and in-universe, the day Eddie Munson rises in the Upside Down as Kas.

Beelzebub - A winged demon that is considered the "Lord of the Flyers."

Asmodeus - A "Prince of demons" representative of temptation and lust. Asmodeus has been referred to as a "puppet."

Chapter 1: Illumination

Illumination - Historically, Illuminated Manuscripts are documents that have been decorated and gilded and then used as a frontispiece in books such as a Bible. They contain prayers, illustrations, dedications, proclamations, and often times, summarizations of a story or introductions to their characters.

Mission San Gabriel Arcángel - A Californian mission in San Gabriel Valley that was damaged during the Whittier Narrows Earthquake.

San Gabriel Playhouse/Civic Center - A structure across from the Mission San Gabriel Arcangel that sustained damage to the bell towers on October 5, 1987 due to aftershocks from the earthquake.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel - A name given to the Virgin Mary during her Patronage of the Carmelite Order. Scapulars (sacramental garments) of Our Lady of Mount Carmel protect wearers from "suffering in eternal fire."

Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel - A Catholic Church located in Melrose Park, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. The chapel was built in 1894.

Bungalow - A style of residential architecture in Chicago and surrounding suburbs, built primarily between 1910 and 1940.

Cornicello - A Southern Italian symbol for good luck and protection against evil.

Order of Minims - A Roman Catholic Order of friars founded by Saint Francis of Paola, known for their vow of humility, poverty, charity and devoted faith. Their habit consists of a black wool tunic belted with a tasseled cord tied 4 times to signify each vow.

Agnosticism - The belief of a God or the divine, but understanding that it is unknown or unknowable. The Knights of the Holy Order both have personal religious affiliations and beliefs, but also operate under blanket agnosticism.

Italian Diaspora - A surge of poor immigrants from Southern Italy to America in the late 19th century and early 20th century.

Beatification - A declaration by the Pope that someone is in Heaven and in a state of Bliss, usually as a step to Sainthood and public veneration.

Ancestral Sin - Occasionally used to refer to the Original Sin of Adam, however the belief that the sins of the father will then translate to the children. Present in most spiritual systems and religions. Psychologists and philosophers believe that failure of morality is simply a flaw of human nature.

Chapter 2: Descendió a los Infiernos

Misapplying Quotes from the Bible - Gabriel, in the story, will often misquote things from the Bible or utilize them in the way that best serves the plot of the story/the string of fate. This speaks to humanity's inability to understand the Divine and the misuse of Biblical quotes to achieve personal means, as well as the belief that holy scriptures were not written by anything or anyone divine, but by mortal men.

Michael the Archangel - Another archangel and saint, like Gabriel, and a protector and warrior. Often times, prayed to to protect people in Battle. Historically, Joan of Arc was said to have visions of Michael.

Oath of the Holy Order - A bastardization of the Prayer to Saint Michael. (You're welcome. This is a story about criticism of religion. Where have you been?)

The Necrodome - An episode from the Canadian TV Series Blood Ties, about a detective and her vampire sidekick. The episode features people being reanimated to fight in an underground boxing ring for the undead.

Constance Hatchaway - The murderous bride featured in Disney's Haunted Mansion. The ride and movies are mainly set in New Orleans.

Attack on the Town Square by the Brides of Dracula - A scene from Van Helsing (2004).

Chapter 3: Crucible

The Crucible - A play by Arthur Miller about the Salem Witch Trials in 1692 and an allegory for McCarthyism.

Crucible - A situation of severe trial, or in which different elements interact, leading to the creation of something new.

Crucible - A ceramic or metal container in which metals or other substances may be melted or subjected to very high pressure and temperatures.

Stigmata - The bodily marks, sores, or sensations of pain in locations corresponding to the crucifixion wounds on the hands, feet, and heart. (I am purposely ignoring Jesus in this story except for certain instances.)

Catholic Guilt - The thing that drives Matt Murdock insane...just kidding, here is a good article.

Anthropophagous - A monster featured in the Monstrumologist series by Rick Yancey that is shaped like a headless man, with a mouth in its stomach. Is this series problematic? Tad Bit. Is this monster terrifying? Yes.

Brides of Dracula - Three "sisters" from Bram Stoker's Dracula that live in Dracula's castle and are used as tools of temptation. They have the ability to entrance and seduce and are considered secondary antagonists. They have been depicted in plenty of vampire media, including Van Helsing (2004). Although the visual interpretation of the three brides are Chrissy, Heather, and Barb, the literal three brides of AASB are Chrissy, Fred, and Patrick.

Chapter 4: Malum Malus

Napoleonic Wars - A series of conflicts fought by Napoleon and the French empire after the French Revolution. Napoleon invaded the Papal States in 1809 and imprisoned Pope Pius VII for signing the Concordat of 1801 which guaranteed Catholics would have religious freedom in the new French Empire (as religion was seen as anti-empirical). After his exile Pius reformed much of the Catholic Church (and also did a lot of bad things in the name of God. Popes really suck, man.)

Antichrist - A prophesied figure who will oppose Jesus Christ in an impending apocalypse.

Vomiting Dirt - Symbolic of releasing negative feelings and emotions. From a religious perspective, it shows signs of losing sight of your faith and your values. In dream interpretation, if one vomits dirt in a dream, they must take time to reflect on their past and reconnect with people they've wronged to apologize or mend the relationship.

SOS - Save our Souls or Save our Ship, SOS is a well-known distress signal. It is three short taps followed by three long taps, and then three short taps again.

Chapter 5: Via Domus

Via Domus - Latin for "The Way Home." The chapter is named after the video game Lost: Via Domus, which is connected to the 2004 TV Series Lost. Lost has many biblical and philosophical themes, and while the characters always strive to find a way to return home, home seemed to be right where they were the whole time.

"God is Dead" - A philosophical statement made by Nietzsche, signifying that the belief of God has become so paramount and such a norm in society that people weigh all of their moral bearings on, that god is dead. Also spoken by John Proctor in The Crucible; John, a God-fearing man, becomes disillusioned during the persecution of his neighbors and himself that he believes the idea of a God, who upholds justice for the innocent, must be dead.

"Lord I am not worthy to receive you..." - This is taken from Matthew 8:8. During a Catholic mass it is said before communion; the belief is that the blessing of taking God/Jesus into your body through communion is such a blessing that no matter how holy you are, you are not worthy of it. In AASB, the Knight is quite literally believed to be a cursed and unholy being that is still gifted with holy light; in this moment, where just minutes prior she denounced God--and has slowly been coming to this conclusion for her entire life--she is looking for her faith to save her. It is, quite literally, the last line of defense against "Kas."

Chapter 6: Revelation

Revelation - A surprising or previously unknown fact, especially one that is revealed in a shocking or dramatic way. In philosophical/religious context, the act of a divine or supernatural disclosure of something to humans. There are several revelations in Chapter 6, both subtle and obvious. (Additionally, see previous reference to Book of Revelation from the Prequels.)

3 - The number 3 in numerology and in religious context represents wholeness and divine completeness. 3 sides of a triangle and the triangle is the most stable and strong shape. Father-Son-and-Holy-Spirit, 3 Kings, 3 Prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane before Jesus was arrested. 3 is also the number that is referred to most frequently in the book of Revelation.

Cerberus - In Greek Mythology, the multi-headed hound of Hades who guards the doors of the Underworld.

"What is it you want, Mary..." - Quote from the movie It's a Wonderful Life, which plays on themes of love, friendship, faith, and happiness/dissatisfaction.

"I Am Hollow..." - Speech said by Dracula to his Brides in Van Helsing.

Sweetest Day - Sweetest Day 1987 was actually celebrated on October 17th.

John Winthrop - Founder of the Massachusetts Bay colony and a prominent figure in Puritanism. Notably quoted for describing the colony as a "city on a hill" with shining moral example for the rest of the world. (*cough* bullshit *cough*)

Sacrament - In Christianity, a ceremony or ritual that is used to impart divine grace upon someone to varying degrees. Baptism, Communion, confession/penance, anointing, etc.

First Communion - First Holy Communion is one of the three sacraments a Catholic (and other varied christian denominations) and rite of passage when a child is old enough to understand the Mystery of Faith and take on responsibility/acceptance of their sins and process of forgiveness for themselves. In AASB, the Knight never went through any of the sacraments because she has always needed to take on her own sins/forgiveness and that of her ancestors. Communion wouldn't be necessary. (Or would it? The church seems to enjoy keeping this curse hanging over her head/family's head.)

Monk's Chant From Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Literal translation "merciful Lord, grant them rest." Would probably be one of the truly religious-adjacent references Eddie would recognize. The movie itself carries this meaning of "if you don't give up you'll never lose" while also MOCKING that idea.

"This is my blood..." - The knight quotes/bastardizes the line from Matthew 26:28, said by Jesus during the last supper, and recited ahead of the Rite of Communion in the Catholic Church. She is setting up a covenant of forgiveness between herself and Eddie.

Covenant - A promise, an agreement, bound by a seal. Biblically, there are many covenants made between religious figures and God.

The Ballroom Scene - An interpretation of the scene between Dracula and Anna Valerious from Van Helsing.

Chapter 7: Exodus

Exodus - A going out, a departure, usually of a large number of people, and usually under difficult circumstances or means. Also the Book of Exodus from the Old Testament, which depicts the story of the prophet Moses who led the Israelites from slavery in Egypt to find freedom. (Jo Note: There are...a lot of things in Exodus and a lot of very nuanced themes that I would do a disservice to break down both here and in how they're referred to in AASB.)

Italian Folk Witchcraft - Italian and Italian-American Folk Witchcraft comes in many different varieties. Stregheria, Benedicaria, etc etc. Practices are considered "family traditions" or regional traditions, and in some instances, are practiced alongside religion, specifically Catholicism. Prayers and offerings to saints, various superstitions. As the Knight begins to rely on some of the more "folk practices" instead of relying on she is pulling directly from Italian/Catholic roots. (Example: dried beans are used in a Saint Joseph's day altar to bring luck and abundance in times of drought/crisis.)

Paladins in DnD 5E - Although Paladin has been a playable class in DnD since the first edition, certain mechanics of the class have been expanded on over the years. Although this story takes place in 1987, I'm pulling some mechanics of the Paladin class from 5E, with abilities such as "divine sense" and the belief that engaging in darkness will begin to break a Paladin's oath and lead them to lose their blessed power. But more on that later...

For the Fictional character ask: the icons themselves Mickey and Minnie Mouse!

Since I already answered an ask about Mickey, this one will be exclusively about Minnie.

Favorite thing about them: I love, in the House of Mouse, how she's a lynchpin in keeping the House of Mouse afloat and does so much to hold it together, from keeping the projector in order to organizing cartoons, etc.

I also love it in shorts etc. when she's allowed to get hopping mad. A righteously frustrated Minnie is a wonderful Minnie, just like a happy and contented Minnie is also wonderful. :)

Least favorite thing about them: How she can be dismissed by a certain subset of the general public as "the generic female character." Which isn't an issue I have with her, it's with how (some) people see her, but there you go.

Three things i have in common with them:

I can be very gentle and demure. At the same time, if I get exasperated enough, I can make people know it.

Sometimes I worry I am not appreciated by my family group in the way I want to be.

I have a sentimental, romantic side.

Three things i don’t have in common with them:

I am not a mouse.

I am less sociable than she can be, at least when talking with others in person. I tend to be very introverted and reserved.

Regarding House of Mouse, I'm not as adept or as businesslike an organizer, although I always do try to be supportive of my friends.

Favorite line: Perhaps her exchange with Mickey at the end of the Gift of the Magi segment of Once Upon a Christmas. It's a lovely segment, and it's stayed with me even though I think I only saw the movie twice when I was little - once in school possibly, and once when we checked the VHS out from the library. It's just simple classic Gift of the Magi poignancy, I know, but there's just something beautiful and archetypal about it being Minnie and Mickey.

Random Headcanon: I'd like to synthesize all the different shorts/films where Mickey and friends re-enact literature or plays (Christmas Carol, Three Musketeers, Midsummer Night's Dream) and say that Mickey and Minnie don't just have to be separate iterations of themselves if it's cute to imagine them happily play-acting these parts with love and warmth for each other in their hearts. And it is cute to imagine.

Unpopular Opinion: I'm not sure if I have one?

Song i associate with them: This is going to be an odd one, but the temperance song "Come Home, Father" by Henry Clay Work from the 1850s/60s.

You see, the 1941 Mickey and Minnie short "The Nifty Nineties" was at the end of the VHS copy of Pollyanna that my family owned, and it includes a sequence of Minnie crying over the song, so since then, I've associated this song with... Minnie Mouse.

This moment from the Gift of the Magi segment of Once Upon a Christmas that I've gushed about already. Unlike with Mickey, I was able to find the exact moment from the scene I was looking for in screencap form.

I also want to give a shoutout to the pictures/stickers of Minnie in an old CD-ROM game, Disney Magic Artist Studio. I meant to bring up the game's depictions of Mickey last night as well, but in my haste I forgot.

See, you could put the "stickers" in various backdrops and then print out the image - or animate the stickers as well. I can't find the most iconic depictions of Minnie that I remember (I'm taking the above screencap from a Youtube vid), but suffice to say there were lots of cool variations - like Minnie dressed like she was on Mount Olympus, in the jungle, as an astronaut...

What made you ship it?;

I really don't have a clear answer! In my experience I never seen any content for it (before Oblitus Casa at least) aside from people making vague mentions of them being canon in their aus, so I think it was really just the potentional? The idea of Jake helping this person who was just like him- an SSA intern trapped to face off against these disney things from hell- find peace even though he's a reanimated corpse was just super fun to me! I tend to ship them in a more "they met thanks to Treasure Island, didn't know each other at all before this" sense but even then imagine scenarios where they WERE close beforehand is fun too!

Oblitus Casa really reenforced it tho with the Madoka and Homura vibes they got going on here though LMFAJIFTGH

What are your favorite things about the ship?;

The potentiental, comedy and fluff as stated before! There's comedy in the fact out of everyone, Jake, seemingly a normal guy, decided to date the yellow wax(?) corpse/stuffed mickey mouse suit/guy made of scrap pieces he found on the island. Like gah damn. There's also just a lot of fluff stored in them healing post-Treasure Island. Fuck Oblitus Casa's ending I want Henry off that island and learning to readjusted to society w/ Jake and healing and growing and bonding with the one person he thinks he can rely on!

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?;

I don't think so?? Like I said the ship wasn't popular from what I could find when I first shipped it (2018) and nowadays no one's made any wack ass aus or headcanons that makes me think "now what are you doing to them-"

Idk maybe my one preferance is that people don't shove angst relating to this ship down my throat, which hasn't even happened but it's still smth I. Don't want to deal with fghjk god forbid they're happy in my au, yknow? Ppl can have their headcanons and preferences for content but I think if its ONLY angst (which is what I’ve mostly seen) and anything besides that is treated as abnormal, its boring asf lol
