“you haven’t called me an asshole yet today, everything okay?” with luke!!
“nuisance”
luke hughes x f!reader
🦋 BORDYSBAE’S 500 CELLY!
— ୨୧ —
rumor had it, a new boy from canada just moved to the one and only plymouth michigan, and would be attending your highschool. little did you know, he’d soon become the biggest nuisance to roam the halls. no one ever shut up about ‘luke hughes the future nhl player.’ girls even had crushes on him since the day he arrived, but not you. you just found him annoying. did you find him cute? yes. but mostly annoying.
“howdy partner!” luke beams as he slides into the seat next to you. a couple weeks ago at the start of school, you were unfortunate enough to be assigned as luke’s chemistry partner. and assigned to sit behind him in math, and sit in front of him in english too.
he grew popular so quickly, and that only made you hate him more. it’s only the third week of school and teachers are already allowing him to slack on homework just because of ‘hockey practice.’ luke knows you’re not very fond of him, but he just doesn’t know why. so that’s why he’s always bugging you, or so you think at least.
“hi, luke,” you mutter with your head resting on your arms. it’s too early for luke’s antics.
“someone’s grumpy. per usual,” luke teases, nudging your arm gently. you groan as the teacher begins speaking and sit up so she doesn’t yell at you. her words about chemistry sound like utter nonsense to you, so you don’t even bother listening. this is unusual behavior for you, and even luke knows that.
“hey are you okay?” luke whispers, but you’re so tired that you hardly even hear him. instinctually, you let out a half assed ‘mhm’ as a reply. this makes luke’s brows furrow, but he shrugs it off and continues tapping his pencil annoyingly. usually when he does this, you get mad at him and force his pencil to stay still, but this morning you’re way too tired for anything. maybe staying up late studying for a test wasn’t as smart of an idea as it seemed.
once class is over, you can barely even stay awake. you sluggishly make your way out of the class, but not before the nuisance stops you. he tugs on your backpack and jolts you back, making your eyes widen. “what the hell luke!” you practically shriek.
“you haven’t called me an asshole yet today, everything okay? you’re so sluggish too, i’m honestly a little worried,” he asks you.
you look up at the boy, and now he gets a full glance at just how tired you appear. as much as you’d never admit it, luke asking if you’re alright honestly made your day a little bit better. “yeah i just stayed up way too late and slept past my alarm, so i haven’t had any coffee. thanks for asking though, asshole,” you chuckle, and he lets out a little smile. he pushes you playfully out of his way as he heads to his second period class, making you roll your eyes with a smile.
third period rolls around, and this is the class where luke sits in front you. as you walk in, you spot luke holding two coffees in his hand with a cheesy grin on his face. your mouth drops as luke hands you your usual starbucks order. when you sit down, luke turns around to face you, “is it the right thing?” he asks honestly worried he got your order wrong, but he didn’t.
“luke thank you! oh my god! when and how did you get this!?
“may or may not have skipped second period and went to get starbucks. i could tell how tired you were, and i was craving a bacon gouda too so…” he bashfully grins.
“how did you even know my order?” you ask, immediately sipping the drink before you.
“you bring the same thing everyday, i just kind of learned it,” he shrugs.
“luke let me pay you back, i have to,” you insist, grabbing your wallet as you speak.“absolutely not y/n, it’s my treat. plus, you didn’t read the side of the cup,” he says before turning around in his seat as class begins. you rotate the cup, and notice semi-messy handwriting on the side in black sharpie. it reads: ‘can i take you out on a date?’
your mouth drops, and immediately you tap lukes shoulder. he turns around, and you nod you head and whisper, “of course you can, asshole.” he lets out a loud laugh at your joke, and so do you. suddenly everyone is looking at you both, but you guys don’t mind. you’re both too happy to care.

Someone pissed me off a couple of days ago
So! Below are several links to programs and foundations that promote adult literacy! Hundreds of millions of adults world wide were failed by their education system and now must fend for themselves while trying to read contracts and hospital bills and infographics from the CDC. But they don't have to be alone, and it is never too late to learn!
ProLiteracy: A network of educators, researchers, and advocates which provides research reports, learning materials, and other support to adult education programs. They assist with connecting volunteers to local programs and provide guidance and support to community leaders trying to use their programs' findings to advocate for social and political change.
Adult Literacy League: An adult education program in Central Florida, which aims to provide students with one on one attention to foster growth and confidence. It also offers English Second Language courses and job skills training, and each new student receives a comprehensive assessment to determine the best plan for them.
Saint Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center's Foundational Skills Program: A 100% free adult education program aimed at adults reading below a fifth grade level. It operates year round and is either in person or remote, and they now have a GED testing center that is open to students and the public alike.
Washtenaw Literacy: A free network of trained tutors for adults in Washtenaw County, Michigan.
Adult Learning Program (Las Vegas/Clark County): Free education classes to those lacking a high school diploma, those seeking to learn ESL, and adults who read below an eighth grade level. Also assists in students' search for gainful employment. Nevada got so fucked by COVID and the education/literacy numbers in the South West are grim. Please help these guys.
Hawaii Literacy: In addition to helping adult residents of Hawaii Island learn to read and write AND bridging the education gap in Hawaii's underserved children, they offer computer literacy classes, ESL classes, and a bookmobile. 1 in 6 Hawaiian adults struggle to read and write.

The original novelizations of Godzilla and Godzilla Raids Again will be published in English for the first time on October 3. They'll be available in paperback and e-book via University of Minnesota Press.
First published in 1955, the books were written by Shigeru Kayama, who conceived the original story for Godzilla. They’ve been newly translated into English by Jeffrey Angles, professor of Japanese at Western Michigan University.
The two young adult novellas are being published together in one 256-page book. The official synopsis is below.
Godzilla emerged from the sea to devastate Tokyo in the now-classic 1954 film, produced by Tōhō Studios and directed by Ishirō Honda, creating a global sensation and launching one of the world’s most successful movie and media franchises. Awakened and transformed by nuclear weapons testing, Godzilla serves as a terrifying metaphor for humanity’s shortsighted destructiveness: this was the intent of Shigeru Kayama, the science fiction writer who drafted the 1954 original film and its first sequel and, in 1955, published these novellas.
Although the Godzilla films have been analyzed in detail by cultural historians, film scholars, and generations of fans, Kayama’s two Godzilla novellas—both classics of Japanese young-adult science fiction—have never been available in English. This book finally provides English-speaking fans and critics the original texts with these first-ever English-language translations of Godzilla and Godzilla Raids Again. The novellas reveal valuable insights into Kayama’s vision for the Godzilla story, feature plots that differ from those of the films, and clearly display the author’s strong antinuclear, proenvironmental convictions.
Kayama’s fiction depicts Godzilla as engaging in guerrilla-style warfare against humanity, which has allowed the destruction of the natural world through its irresponsible, immoral perversion of science. As human activity continues to cause mass extinctions and rapid climatic change, Godzilla provides a fable for the Anthropocene, powerfully reminding us that nature will fight back against humanity’s onslaught in unpredictable and devastating ways.
Pre-order Godzilla and Godzilla Raids Again by Shigeru Kayama.

DOMINIK DORIA ☆⌒(*^-゜)v
╭──────────────── . ✩ . ───────────────
Name: Dominik Doria
Age: 27
Ethnicity: Germanic - American
Gender: Male (He/Him)
Occupation: Pharmacist, scientist and CEO of "Dorian's Laboratories"
Height: 5'8 (1'72 cm)
VC:
English: Chris Patton (Ayato Sakamaki)
Spanish: Ricardo Bautista (Ayato Sakamaki ... also)
Signature color: Green most of the time, sometimes red.
Personality: Dominik, a cold and apathetic man, is a reserved and somewhat mysterious person, but he can show emotional reactions (such as surprise, anger, excitement, shame or fear) in some situations. Dominik is generally serious and apathetic with others, he does not have a real interest in anyone who does not represent some benefit or threat to his personal interests, therefore he does not have such a large (if not zero) friendship circle. This personality causes him to start a verbal argument with another person, and Dominik is not someone who is afraid of being hurtful when speaking. Dominik is a semi-constant enemy of the Kratt team due to his methods for testing medications, so the existence of that group usually irritates him and more than once he has seen himself facing them in his adventures, in which he has constant fights with almost all members of the Kratt team, but always end up losing in these confrontations. Dominik usually remains silent and with a low profile in situations that are not of interest to him, but when they are of interest to him he tends to participate as much as he can.
Dominik is definitely not someone you would want to have as a "friend", much less as an enemy. He has been seen to have manic episodes and be prone to yelling at his employees when they are "useless" (in his own words), it is also known that in addition to using animals Dominik uses other means to test medications or to experiment with new ones, including , for example, using human test subjects, so it is easy to assume (correctly) that Dominik is someone very focused on his work, he has even been found sleeping in his office or even in the laboratories. Anyway, Dominik tends to have a soft side that is only seen with his niece Ivy (Evelyn), Dominik becomes surprisingly kinder and more empathetic, leaving all that gloomy personality aside.
Abilities: Dominik does not have such memorable physical abilities, but he has proven to use bladed and firearms with ease. He has great knowledge in pharmaceuticals and science, in addition to knowing about medicine and, surprisingly, art history. Dominik is quite good at driving different vehicles, such as cars and motorcycles, plus he knows how to get information from other people.
Trivia:
Dominik has the habit of mixing any type of alcohol (usually tequila, whiskey, rum or vodka) with more "mundane" drinks, such as coffee.
Surprisingly, Dominik has a pet, a opossum named "Loki."
Dominik lives in Michigan, but has facilities in Miami, New York, Berlin, Monaco, Tokyo and Madrid.
Dominik has used a prosthetic leg since he was 16 years old.
His favorite food is instant noodles, they are quick to make during work.
Since Dominik first saw Chris in the Tasmanian devil suit, he has had a "small" obsession withthe CPS and especially with the green Kratt.
Churches and religious things in general give him the creeps, he feels kinda uncomfortable.
He is aroace and gay/achillean
His late mother sometimes worked in an antique store and it is thought that his biological father was perhaps just a simple aimless traveler, perhaps a backpacker.

FINALLY HERE IS DOMINIK'S FILE, the art is old but the design itself remains the same.

'Years before he became known as the father of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer worked as a physics professor at the University of California, Berkeley, when he met who became perhaps the greatest love of his life.
Her name was Jean Tatlock, and just as she captured the famed physicist’s heart, their romance has captured the imaginations of historians for nearly a century. And they aren’t the only ones. Tatlock will be portrayed by Florence Pugh, alongside Cillian Murphy’s Oppenheimer, in the upcoming film Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan.
Affiliated with the Communist Party, Tatlock is often credited with introducing Oppenheimer to radical politics, something that haunted him in his later life and career. Despite their 10-year age gap, and though they were separated by the time he led the famous Manhattan Project, Tatlock had an undeniable impact on Oppenheimer’s life, and her tragic death weighed on him as he began his work on the atomic bomb.
“A free-spirited woman with a hungry, poetic mind, she was always the one person in the room, whatever the circumstances, who remained unforgettable,” according to American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin.
Meeting Oppenheimer
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1914, Tatlock was the second child of J.S.P. Tatlock and Marjorie Fenton. Her father, who had a docorate from Harvard University, was an acclaimed English professor and literary scholar and was considered a foremost expert on the works of Geoffrey Chaucer, according to Brotherhood of the Bomb by Gregg Herken.
Jean inherited her father’s intellect. Before attending Vassar College in 1931, she took a year off to travel in Europe, staying with a friend in Switzerland who was a devoted follower of psychologist Carl Jung. After meeting a close-knit community of psychoanalysts during the trip, she decided to study psychology herself, according to Bird and Sherwin.
After graduating from Vassar in 1935, she studied at the Stanford Medical School, where her intellect and good looks intimidated the other classmates. They also caught the interest of Oppenheimer, then a physics professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where Tatlock completed her prerequisites before enrolling at Stanford.
Oppenheimer and Tatlock began a passionate and intense romance in 1936, when she was 22 and he was 32. The decade age gap didn’t seem to matter. A friend described Tatlock as Oppenheimer’s “truest love” and said he was “devoted to her,” according to Bird and Sherwin. He reportedly proposed to Tatlock twice, though she turned him down.
Tatlock was impressed with Oppenheimer’s knowledge of English literature, and she introduced him to the poetry of John Donne. It’s widely believed the Trinity test—the first detonation of the nuclear weapon in 1945—was named after a Donne poem and inspired by Tatlock, according to The First Atomic Bomb by Janet Farrell Brodie.
Communist Affiliations
Tatlock was a dues-paying member of the Communist Party of the United States of America while dating Oppenheimer, an association that would later bring a great deal of scrutiny to the famed physicist. Tatlock wrote for the Western Worker, a major West Coast communist publication, and she introduced him to several prominent members of the party, according to Robert Oppenheimer: A Life Inside the Center by Ray Monk.
“I find I am a complete Red when anything at all,” Tatlock wrote to a friend, according to American Prometheus. She also pushed Oppenheimer to move from mere theory to action, and when he commented that he would have to settle for staying on the periphery of political struggles, Tatlock remarked, “Oh, for God’s sake, don’t settle for anything.”
However, Oppenheimer denied that Tatlock was solely responsible for his political interests or affiliations, noting that he first read about Soviet communism after his father lent him a book on the subject before he met Tatlock. According to Bird and Sherwin’s American Prometheus, Oppenheimer described Tatlock’s communist involvement as “on-again, off-again affairs and never seemed to provide for her what she was seeking. I do not believe that her interests were really political.”
From 1939 onward, Oppenheimer claimed he only saw Tatlock on rare occasions, and in 1940, he wed Katherine Puening, more commonly known as Kitty Oppenheimer, to whom he was married the rest of his life. However, he and Tatlock remained “the closest of friends and occasional lovers,” according to Bird and Sherwin, and she would phone him for comfort during her occasional bouts of depression.
By 1943, Tatlock was a pediatric psychiatrist at Mount Zion Hospital in San Francisco, at the start of what seemed to be a promising career. The 29-year-old was also being treated for clinical depression, which might have worsened when Oppenheimer drastically reduced contact with her after becoming director of the Los Alamos Laboratory that year, according to Bird and Sherwin.
A Tragic Death
Tatlock was placed under surveillance by the FBI due to her relationship with Oppenheimer and past involvement with communist politics. When Tatlock and Oppenheimer had one last meeting in June 1943, she confessed that she still loved him and wanted to be with him. Unbeknownst to her, FBI agents monitored the entire visit, according to Monk’s biography.
“For reasons of love and compassion, he had become a key member of Jean’s psychological support structure—and then he had vanished, mysteriously,” Bird and Sherwin wrote in American Prometheus. “In Jean’s eyes, it may have seemed as if ambition had trumped love.”
Tatlock died by suicide on January 4, 1944, at age 29. Her father discovered her body after entering her San Francisco apartment through a window after she didn’t respond to the doorbell. He found her lying in the bathroom, her head submerged in a partially-filled bathtub, with a suicide note on the dining room table, according to Monk.
“I am disgusted with everything,” the note read, according to Bird and Sherwin. “To those who loved me and helped me, all love and courage. I wanted to live and to give and I got paralyzed somehow. I tried like hell to understand and couldn’t.”
One of the first people to learn of her death was FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, due to the agency’s surveillance, according to Monk. Oppenheimer was despondent upon hearing the news. Due to the unusual circumstances around her death and the FBI surveillance, many have speculated that Tatlock was murdered, but most of her loved ones believe the cause of death was suicide.
Tatlock’s relationship with Oppenheimer would be used as evidence against him in 1954, when the United States Atomic Energy Commission held security hearings that explored his communist associations and other past actions. Oppenheimer lost his security clearance as a result of the hearing, effectively ending his formal relationship with the U.S. government.'

Lucy thinks she might die right here, right now, at the start of her freshman orientation.
She has given birth before. She has walked around a Catholic high school in her third trimester of pregnancy when people didn’t even bother whispering about her condition anymore. She has missed her senior prom and crashed another one just to say she did something. But this is the hardest thing she’s ever endured. This is the most humiliating.
It started off so normal. Lucy was proud to be at the University of Michigan, and she thought the University of Michigan was proud to welcome her. After all, they know where she could have been if she hadn’t gotten pregnant. They should feel honored. She knows how arrogant she sounds, but for a brief moment, it felt very real. Very true.
She walked up to the check-in desk where some young women in blue asked for her name. They asked if she was still interested in majoring in English. Lucy answered both of their questions with a smile on her red lips and her chin high in the air. But when they handed her a packet, she began to feel a lot like a beach ball. Unflattering. Annoying. Slowly deflating.
It’s been an hour, and she still feels like that beach ball.
The packet is a list of all the classes she tested into. A few months earlier, after she committed to attending Michigan, they brought her in for a few placement tests. Math, composition, stuff like that. She knew she blew the math section. Math was never her strong suit (a fact she’ll die embarrassed of), and getting pregnant made it worse. It’s hard to comprehend complex trigonometry when you’re worried you might have an accident during the pop quiz.
But, of course, Lucy was pretty sure she nailed the written. She’s always been a writer. Good with words. A lovely turn of phrase. She wrote about the Orwellian state of modernity, and she pulled a few quotes from 1984 out of her memory. Maybe it doesn’t help that the current year is 1985, but she thought the sentiment still stood.
As it turns out, she thought wrong.
Because when Lucy looks at that placement packet, it says the worst thing it could possibly say.
She has to take the lower section of English composition when school starts in the fall.
The notes in the packet say that Lucy Callaghan has below average writing skills.
And, OK, they don’t actually say that. But they might as well. Lucy was going into this orientation – this postsecondary career – believing she already knew what she was doing. But apparently, none of those sophisticated analyses of Christ-like figures in One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest were good enough. Of course they weren’t good enough.
Sadie says it’s not that big of a deal or even a big deal at all. She also placed into the lower section of composition, and now, maybe they’ll be guaranteed a class together if they can swing it that way. And Lucy tries to smile through it … tries not to feel like a fool and a fraud.
But she’s Lucy. And every ounce of her confidence is shellacked in the fear that everyone’s going to find out about her.
They might be onto her now.

( EMRE BEY, CIS MAN, HE/HIM ) EREN KÜÇÜK the THIRTY-ONE year old is known as THE FOODIE within the group. they are known to be TENACIOUS and CYNICAL which makes sense when you think about how HE POSSIBLY HAS A SON HE HAS REFUSED TO RECOGNIZE AS HIS OWN but i guess we’ll find out for ourselves.
〔 biography . connections . pinterest . playlist . 〕
⸺ ONE , STATS .
✦ full name. eren küçük ✦ age. thirty-one ✦ date of birth. february 19th, 1993 ✦ gender. cis-male ✦ pronouns. he/him ✦ sexual orientation. bisexual ✦ occupation. chef
⸺ TWO , INFORMATION
eren's upbringing was a tale of privilege and expectation. raised with every comfort, his father envisioned him as the heir to the family business, yet eren's heart lay elsewhere. his blend of strategic thinking from his father and creative flair inherited from his mother hinted at a different path.
from an early age, eren found solace and passion in the kitchen, trading playgrounds for pots and pans. his parents, aware of his talent, supported his culinary passion, enrolling him in courses while other kids chased balls on the field.
at first, eren embodied the perfect child image, seemingly flawless and golden. but as he grew older, hints of rebellion started peeking through, hidden from his parents' watchful eyes. with charisma and charm, he smoothly moved through social circles, using his allure strategically, occasionally hinting at a more darker side.
eren's post-high school ambition was to leave michigan, feeling a need to break free from what he saw as confinement. his plea to attend culinary school in france found swift approval from his parents, leading him to board a plane without looking back.
in france, eren's culinary skills dazzled, garnering him praise and admiration. while he mostly relied on his natural talent he occasionally resorted to underhanded tactics to maintain his edge. despite tempting offers from renowned restaurants worldwide upon graduation, eren opted to stay in france, though he made occasional trips back home to satisfy his mother's yearning.
tw: pregnancy & abandonment. ascending the ranks in a prestigious restaurant, eren's personal life mirrored his success professionally, or so it seemed. however, beneath the surface of what seemed like a perfect relationship lay disconnection and separate lives. when his girlfriend revealed her pregnancy, eren's response was immediate—he denied paternity and cut ties, hastily moving to another province to avoid the subject.
returning to michigan under the pretext of familial closeness and his desire to open his own restaurant but really aiming to dodge his ex's legal pursuit of child support.
⸺ THREE , PERSONALITY
THE BAD
he's been spoiled rotten, never once grounded.
incredibly persuasive, he can easily wear the nice guy facade.
he firmly believes he's untouchable, free to do as he pleases without consequence.
deeply fearful of his mistakes being exposed, he's even more terrified of letting down those he cares about.
he harbors grudges intensely and can be vengeful if he deems it fitting.
THE GOOD
super disciplined, maybe won't win father of the year, but he's dead serious about his job.
strategic and methodical, he always thinks twice before making a move.
charismatic and charming that makes him approachable and likable
he's got a sharp wit and can think fast on his feet.
when it comes to family, he's fiercely loyal and protective. like ngl he's a good son and brother.
⸺ FOUR , HEADCANONS
i mean i know what you're gonna ask, ella why doesn't he take a paternity test and get over with it. and my answer is idk friend, men can be cowards and he's just like why bother.
speaks french fluently and i'm sure he's that annoying person that "forgets" words in English because he's so used to french. (ngl that's me too but so la voo or whatever)
also about the french. claims to be fluent (and he is but he has a slight accent, sue him) yet Parisians keep speaking to him in English. the goddamn nerve.
extremely competitive. he's lost friends over game boards but he thinks those were weak friendships because why would he be friends with someone who goes bankrupt on monopoly?
while he always loved cooking, not many people know he was a picky eater as child but he's learned to get over his four-year-old palette and now eats most. except for olives, he still agrees that they are disgusting.
if hypocrisy were a talent he'd be the best of his kind. should have been a politician really.
claims his favorite movie is dead poets society but it actually is mamma mia! (sue him again for liking fun)
can't watch a movie with a dog in it unless he's checked the website does the dog die? first. if the answer is yes, he won't watch it.
⸺ FIVE , CONNECTIONS
listen i will make a page i promise, not today and maybe not tomorrow but soon meanwhile here are some scraps my one brain cell has allowed me to think.
best friend: i mean i know i haven't sold him as the greatest human being but he is a loyal friend to those he actually likes.
childhood friend: again, listen, he was a very decent human being as a child.
enemies: really people he's fucked over or have seen through his facade.
high school victim: I feel like this can also be in the enemy category bc yes, but maybe he subtly bullied this person in high school but no one really knew?
exes: maybe your character got the nice boyfriend maybe he got the asshole. I'm down for whatever.
one night stand: maybe not one night but you know the drill.
love-hate: I'm sucker for these connections. gimme the tension, the hate but the desire like pls.
failed date: went on a date, didn't work out
also I will steal many plot ideas from taylor swift songs bc I have no original thoughts.

CPom on Polina Edmunds's podcast pt 2:
Choreo from last year- what did it feel like to have the newness in choreography and those names inspiring you C: they're the best choreographers in the world - they produce good programs after good programs - it was a dream to work with them, they bring such a creative energy every day, from Marie-France, Madi, Sam- they have such a vision and a genius about skating. it's a dream to work with A: last year I was coming from an injury and a shortened off season, so everyone came together to strategize what the best music was and how to connect everything together. We're really happy to have had the team we had, because it made my comeback very good
Last season was a breath of fresh air after a couple challenging seasons- missing Nationals in 2020 because of covid, then 2021 finishing 7th at Nationals, Anthony's injury, though you finished the season strong at 4CC with a bronze medal- You came back brilliantly this season- you went to your first Worlds - talk about the impact-
They were in contact with someone who had covid and found out 3 days before they left, didn't have covid but couldn't go to Nationals. C: i wish my test came back positive because at least then would be missing because i was sick. perfectly healthy but had to sit at home. was crying all the time A: pretty devastating - felt like they were in the best shape they could be in. wanted to redeem themselves from not the best performance at Skate America that year. so having that opportunity taken away was devastating. that was when we made the decision to move on from Igor. hard times make better people, but it was hard. also wouldn't have my dog George if it wasn't for that. C: when they got the call [that they couldn't go, Anthony] didn't say anything, but stood up, said I'm getting a dog, and left my house A: i stayed off social media that week [of Nationals], and as soon as it was over, i drove to Ohio to get my dog, George
Support systems- what was it like to move to Michigan without your parents at a young age- how has that impacted your life? C: when I moved, I didn't really speak English (!!!) was really hard communicating with people, i missed my parents so much. now I'm grateful for the experience- I'm super independent, I can easily live by myself, it's taught me a lot, but back then it was hard A: for me I lived with a host family for 2 years. so it was definitely different but it wasn't a big shock. once i moved away around the age of 15/16, it got difficult quickly, because I missed that family dynamic. I missed my parents, my brother - I took it for granted before. time difference [to California where his parents live] made it difficult. learned a lot of valuable lessons. learned independence earlier
Anthony's injury, what was your mental state through surgery -- A: ankle - 2015 a bad sprain early in their career. neglected it. were finally getting international competitions, didn't want to take valuable time away - fought through the pain, some days it was really bad. got worse year after year. got opinion after opinion saying get surgery. then finding time to do it. figured the end of the olympic quad was the best time. and it was a great decision because able to do things now he wouldn't be able otherwise. [about mental space] - we just had had a pretty rocky season. it was a really difficult 3 months of recovery- really was unsure where the partnership was going, if I even wanted to continue skating. took a lot of evaluation of my life, where I wanted to go. beneficial to take a step back and look because i established clear goals for myself and my life To Christina, what was your mental space then- how did you approach the following season after-- C: the transition season from changing coaches was really difficult. the approach to training was so different from what we were used to. before we did it to please other people or out of fear (!!!) and then once we moved, we didn't have that aspect any more. you kind of have to do it for yourself because you like doing it and because you want to get better yourself. and learning that transition was really hard, and you saw that struggle in most competitions. and getting to Nationals, that was a really hard Nationals, The offseason was hard for me as well - there were a few shaky moments, and I was training by myself, long and sometimes it's boring, but once we made clear goals for the following season and got together, we approached training with a completely different mindset, we dove into what the coaches were saying, of trusting their process, trusting their training and really giving everything we have, and it's really paid off. I'm happy we had that rocky season because it's taught us so much, and now our mindset for training and competition is so different than before
What were the goals you set out- C: we had some results goals, but we mostly focused on trusting the process. trusting what we were given that day, if we were tired, that's ok, it's normal, just trusting what our coaches wanted. that was one of our main goals. approaching competition differently -doing it for ourselves, whatever the outcome with judges, points - as long as we're happy with what we did, that was enough. Results- make the world team. we always told ourselves, if we don't make it but we skated our best then that's ok, and it just didn't work out, we'll try harder next season. those were our goals
And you guys did it, congratulations, high five

Wake up! It's 'da first 'a the month year!
Hello, everyone! If this is your first time stopping by, then welcome! Please leave your shoes at the door If you're already following or have been a long-time follower, then Happy new year!
Anyways, to all the newbies, hi! My name is Toxic, or you can call me Z if you want. Welcome to my Tumblr! I will leave this pinned for the rest of January, so everyone can read this if they want
Please read the entire thing if you weren't able to read my blog description (Any & all headers seen in this post ALL go to their respective creators, I just wanna jazz up this post a little)
A few things about the person behind the blog!
I am 21 years of age, who's currently building a resistance to alcohol. Don't ask me what my favorite has been so far, that has yet to be determined ^^"
I'm Lesbian, who might also be Demisexual. It would make sense if I was, but Lesbian is the most concrete one for my sexuality
To those that don't wanna assume my gender & also don't know what I identify as, feel free to use They/Them! I don't mind But, my pronouns are, in fact, She/Her. I just don't mind They's as a grey area. As long as you don't use He/Him, then I honestly don't care what you wanna address me as
I mostly dress in darker colors since that's more my style, & I also wear pants alot, as well as long sleeve shirts or t-shirts, & baggy clothes like oversized hoodies & such. No, I'm not insecure of my body, or myself as a whole, I just love wearing clothes like that since they're super comfortable & are just very me (& I'm also just too lazy to shave my legs LMFAO)
Despite that, my taste in everything is all over the place. I listen to a cluster of different genres, dress in alot of different styles (Except for skirts, cuz gross), so I'm a bit inconsistent with it. But, you will see me in pants, sneakers, boots, & just overall darker colors the most
I got a pretty bad potty mouth, so sorry in advance for how much I swear in these posts =w='
My favorite colors are Purple, Black, & Red (In that order), & OGs will know my Teal phase. Ohh, boy........
I have a big appetite (My nickname in my house is "The bottomless pit", to anyone that cares), so I'll eat basically anything. Potatoes, Hot dogs, burgers, onion rings, you name it. But, my FAVORITE of all time is a good old plate of spaghetti & meatballs. I tear it up every single time, & it always slaps 😩👌 However, I have major beef with cauliflower. I fucking hate cauliflower so much My preference is all three things (Sweet, spicy, savory, things like that), but I love spicy food the most
I was born & raised in Monroe, Michigan, but I'm of Irish, Scottish (& a little Dutch & Polish) ethnicity. I wanna go there so badlyyyyyyyy TwT I can only understand & speak English, so sorry to any foreigners that wanna follow me. I tried to learn a second language before, but I gave up after struggling with Norwegian for years. Not my best moment. I DO know a tiny bit of Irish, but that's only greetings, so IDK if that counts
I draw, I play games sometimes, & I do Gacha stuff when I'm way too lazy to draw. The mod I use the most is Gacha Nebula, but I do test out other ones occasionally just for the fun of it. If anyone has Gacha mods you think I would like, hit me up I'm old-school, so the drawing program I use for my art is MS paint. I also edit them with Pixlr E & FireAlpaca when the file is too big I miiiiiight post an occasional cover, but I wouldn't get excited over that. I'm not much of a singer, & I sound pretty shitty, so that will be very rarely you hear me sing. I'm pretty sure I'm a little tone deaf, anyway, so there's that. Sorry ^^"
I have alot of favorite movies, some animated some not. Like Aladdin (The animated one), Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Nightmare before Christmas, things like that. But, my absolute favorite one is Sleepy Hollow (1999). I've rewatched that movie, like, ten times by now
& last but not least, I was born on October 26, 2003 (so a Sunday to anyone that was keeping track). Which makes me a proud Scorpio ♏
What is this blog about, you ask?
Well, it's basically just a clusterfuck of anything I like. Demon slayer, Hazbin hotel, Homicipher, Helluva boss, Undertale, TADC, BATIM, Sally Face, literally anything I think is cool But, this blog mostly centers around Demon slayer, as well as my oc's from both the anime & just ones out in the open for the fun of it. Like, the incubi boys, for example! Go check out the #the incubi boys tag to see three of my favorite oc's I've created
I do have a few au's of different media, like my revamped Undertale au "ElementTale", & my KNY au "Sun breathing prodigy", but other than that, it's mostly my oc's in the mostly canon world Somethings in said stories deal with some pretty dark topics, so please be warned if you're sensitive to that
Fair warning, my blog is very 18+, as well as all of my other blogs, so have your actual age in your description or else you will be blocked. I check every single blog that follows me, so don't lie about your age just to follow me. That applies to the rest of my blogs I've made before. I also don't allow homophobia, racism, TERFs, pedophiles, pornbots, negativity, self promotion, scams, hate blogs, MAPs, politics, or anything else I might've missed. This blog is to get away from that, not to consume more of it You will also never know my views on things like presidency or anything involving the Government since it's not my place to share it online to strangers. However, my advice to give would be to simply do your own research on it instead of believing anything you see. I've said that before & I'll say it forever
My posts might include some of those for backstories & such, but that's the only time you'll see them. & I know minors are gonna follow me, anyway, but if they do, don't interact with any of my content with any of the mature labels on them
However, don't follow me if you're not going to interact with me. I want followers that like my posts & not just stick around just to follow me. That's been a bit of an issue, so please keep that in mind. Massive props to the ones that do, you guys rock
For some honorable mentions:
I'm doing alot of things with my mutuals/friends here on Tumblr, so please go check out their blogs, as well! These two are the goats 🙏🏻
@dorkycreature-89 I'm helping him with their little story on AO3 involving some old characters from our old FNW39 timelines (Who remembers that era?), so go check him out & tell him I sent you!
@happilylazycreator She's been around since the Amino days, & now that we've both left that platform, she's honestly been a personal rock to me. She doesn't post alot that isn't reblogs, so if you could go boost her posts & give her some encouragement for me, that would be great <3
Where else on Tumblr & my other Social medias can you find me?
I have a bunch of other blogs as well as other Social medias that you can find, but here's my blogs first:
You're already on my main!
@scribbles-i-call-art It started off as an art reblog thing, but now it's basically a place to organize my art & help people find them easier
@luxurious-anger This is an Obey me OC RP blog that I made out of impulse since I thought it was fun. I don't know much about Obey me, but I'm enjoying the blog so far, so that counts as something, I think
& any other social medias I have can all be found on my Linktree ↓
& that's it! Personal note here, I wanna thank you all for sticking around as long as you did despite how inconsistent this blog is. Anything you mention me in, like fanart or whatever, it always makes me happy to see what you guys can do. Thank you very much for your support, & thank you to anyone who stopped by & followed me. Happy 2025!

'In Christopher Nolan's new epic Oppenheimer, Florence Pugh portrays Jean Tatlock, J. Robert Oppenheimer's lover who meets a tragic end when she dies by suicide. Though Pugh is barely in the three hour plus film, her performance is impactful, and leaves the viewer wanting more.
If you got out of the movie theaters and immediately thought to Google Jean Tatlock, you're in the right place. Here's the true story of the woman depicted on screen:
She was a psychiatrist.
Jean Frances Tatlock was the daughter of John Strong Perry Tatlock, a professor of English, and Marjorie Tatlock (née Fenton). Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Tatlock went to Cambridge Rindge and Latin School in Cambridge, Massachusetts before enrolling in Vassar. She graduated in 1935 and then went to Berkeley to complete prerequisites for medical school. Later, she attended Stanford Medical School, where she graduated in 1941 as a psychiatrist.
She was a member of the Communist Party.
While at Stanford, Tatlock wrote for the Western Worker, the Communist Party's west coast periodical.
Tatlock met J. Robert Oppenheimer in Berkley in 1936.
At the time, she was a graduate student and Oppenheimer was a physics professor. Oppenheimer described their relationship during his 1954 security hearing as follows:
In the spring of 1936, I had been introduced by friends to Jean Tatlock, the daughter of a noted professor of English at the university; and in the autumn, I began to court her, and we grew close to each other. We were at least twice close enough to marriage to think of ourselves as engaged. Between 1939 and her death in 1944 I saw her very rarely. She told me about her Communist Party memberships; they were on again, off again affairs, and never seemed to provide for her what she was seeking. I do not believe that her interests were really political. She loved this country and its people and its life. She was, as it turned out, a friend of many fellow travelers and Communists, with a number of whom I was later to become acquainted.
Oppenheimer reportedly proposed to Tatlock twice. After he wed Kitty Harrison, the scientist still saw Tatlock a few times, and some historians believe he had an affair with Tatlock while working on the Manhattan Project.
Furthermore, Tatlock introduced Oppenheimer to John Donne's poetry. It's possible that Oppenheimer named the "Trinity" test as a tribute to her and the verse.
She questioned her sexuality.
Tatlock reportedly wondered whether or not she was gay. According to An Atomic Love Story by Shirley Streshinsky and Patricia Klaus, she wrote to a friend, "there was a period when I thought I was homosexual. I still am, in a way, forced to believe it, but really, logically, I am sure that I can't be because of my un-masculinity."
There's some mystery around her 1944 death.
While Jean was being treated at Mount Zion hospital in San Francisco for depression, her father found her dead in her apartment. There was an unsigned suicide note, which read, "I am disgusted with everything... To those who loved me and helped me, all love and courage. I wanted to live and to give and I got paralyzed somehow. I tried like hell to understand and couldn't... I think I would have been a liability all my life—at least I could take away the burden of a paralyzed soul from a fighting world." Most agree Tatlock died by suicide.
But some historians—including Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin, authors of American Prometheus, which forms the basis for Nolan's Oppenheimerquestion her death.
"According to the coroner, Tatlock had eaten a full meal shortly before her death," Bird and Sherwin write. "If it was her intention to drug and then drown herself, as a doctor she had to have known that undigested food slows the metabolizing of drugs into the system. The autopsy report contains no evidence that the barbiturates had reached her liver or other vital organs. Neither does the report indicate whether she had taken a sufficiently large dose of barbiturates to cause death. To the contrary, as previously noted, the autopsy determined that the cause of death was asphyxiation by drowning."
The authors continue, "These curious circumstances are suspicious enough—but the disturbing information contained in the autopsy report is the assertion that the coroner found 'a faint trace of chloral hydrate' in her system. If administered with alcohol, chloral hydrate is the active ingredient of what was then commonly called a 'Mickey Finn'—knockout drops. In short, several investigators have speculated, Jean may have been 'slipped a Mickey,' and then forcibly drowned in her bathtub."
Of course, this is all speculation; Bird and Sherwin agree there's not enough evidence to definitively say one way or another.'
