Leo was born to Ronald and Yeona. He has never been the sharpest tool in the shed and that was clear from early years. He was slow to start walking, talking, you name it and he was last.

He wasn't the greatest academically and he was never even the greatest at sports but he tried his best there at least. He made it on the teams even if it meant some guys he was warming up the bench in his earlier years.. later on in school he actually did improve which shocked a few people.

He had no intentions of going to college but told his dad he was, he didn't realise he had to pay so when his dad confronted him on why he could never get a straight answer on where he was going or why he hadn't made any payments he eventually had to confess.

He is constantly up to no good and with that comes his many arrests for dumb things from even a young age like vandalism, fake ID's, underage drinking, stealing, fighting, breaking and entering, trespassing, drugs, you name it he's done it and been caught doing it. Of course his dad bailed him out each time.

Leo is a straight up party animal so his version of attending college was just going to all the parties with his friends.

With no job Leo doesn't exactly have much to do so he's waiting around on his friends being free, sleeping in all day, gaming and partying at night.

His dad was getting sick and tired of his son being a slob and a leach so when Leo called him up with his free phone call yet again, this time though for drink driving his dad refused to bail him out because he thought he finally needed to be taught a lesson. Leo served 6 months in prison for driving under the influence and is now fresh outta jail ready to continue his life and yet again party! Just in time for the Lake House!

los angeles. there was nothing more axel hated that have been born and spend the first years of his life in this place. the kind of place where everyone's got their own script, their own lines rehearsed to perfection. yet, behind the glittering lights and palm trees he found nothing but emptiness, like a soundstage after the cameras stopped rolling. his abhorrence for it burned fiercely within him, especially considering he hailed from the part he despised the most: the affluent enclave.

growing up, arden has ever only known to please her parents, she was good at being exactly what they needed her to be. if they wanted the fun daughter who impressed her parent's friend's kids then she had no problem playing the part. if they wanted her to act like everything at home was fine, she was gonna pretend that there wasn't a screaming match on the way there. everything outside wasn't real to her because they only ever made it that way. it wasn't until she had a breakdown in the middle of her school speech that she couldn't hold it together anymore. she was tired of it all and it took years for her to recognize that. ever since then, her parents remind her of what a failure she was. it didn't matter that it was just one out of many that she lost control.

now, she uses that to let the world around her burn, it doesn't matter who gets in her way. not even the people she tried to please once upon a time. even though, arden cut them out of her life and isn't living with them anymore, she makes sure that they never forget she exists. she got a job at her mother's firm, just so that emma has to see her five times a week. it helps that her boss is always looking down her shirt and always hitting on her whenever they are alone. it was almost too easy to hurt the people that though she was the one that needed them.

Kai Krungthep is the only son of his broken family. His parents divorced when he was seven years old. His mother wished to pursue a career on her own (she had no necessity for it, she was part of Bangkok's elite, but her dream was bigger than her marriage) and her husband accepted the end of the marriage. She took Kai with her to the States and he would visit his father every summer while he was still a kid.

What’s it like being born into a life where no one will tell you no? Margeaux would be the one to tell you. She had everything she ever wanted. Every doll, ever cute little purse, every piece of jewelry she asked for. Her family weren’t filthy rich, but they had investments and were able to pull out of them when their kids needed things. 

She was the only girl born to a sea of boys and while most would think that would leave immense room for her to be spoiled with attention, it was always something monetary. Her brothers were next in line to step into politics and she was always encouraged to far less than her brothers.

When she was just 19, her family sent her off to a rehab facility and people wouldn’t hear from her for a year. When she came back... she was cold, distant and mean. Because what she’d realized in those walls as that her family did not care about her, they cared about their image.

She made her her goal upon return to make everyone’s lives a living hell. People who knew that fun party girl were confused as to why she’d returned with so much anger in her heart, and she refused to explain to anyone what was going on.

To this day, she holds that resentment and how she feels. Opening the salon was therapeutic for her in a way. Melanie was born to Idris and Jeanne Cabot in what could only be described as pure chaos. Since the loss of Iris, Idris had gone down a bit of a spiral. His sister taken from him, from the family and Jeanne was no better given she was close friends with Iris at the time as well. But they’d convinced themselves that they were completely fine, that life could go on as normal.

Unfortunately, soon after giving birth to Melanie, Jeanne was sent away to a mental facility to pull herself back together. She would never come back home and no one would hear from her again. She’d change her number, she presumably left the state altogether and maybe even started a whole new life. No one knows for sure.

Unfortunately for Melanie, her father was too busy searching for a replacement for her that he would end up making children with just about anyone and she grew up barely knowing her half siblings, except maybe a few. 

This did create a predicament however, where they would find themselves stuck in the trailer park because he was consistently either paying child support for fines for back child support. 

Instead of getting the therapy he needed, he just kept looking for happiness in places that wouldn’t feed his spirit in anyway. But through all of this, Melanie managed to smile her way around it all.

From the time she was young, she learned to mask the true pain with a smile, becoming everyone’s favorite person to go to when they needed to bring their spirits up, little would they ever know how much she was suffering.

And because she was such a people pleaser, she began sleeping around during high school. She wasn’t really happy about it, but she felt as though it would make people stay. They wouldn’t leave like her mother did. 

This would land her as a teen mother unfortunately, but she would begin to change her life from that point onward. Focusing more on being a mother than anything else. She would eventually drop out of school in her senior year. She named her daughter after her late aunt Iris. 

After her daughter reached the age of three, Melanie would get her GED but she wasn’t able to afford moving out of the trailer park. All of the money she was making at the diner, she would use it for bills and save whatever she could to go toward Iris’ college fund. 

These days she can be seen taking care of her now 12 year old daughter and just trying to keep her head high... but for how long can she feign happiness in a less than pleasant life that was almost against her from the beginning?
