Michael Obviously wasn't a big fan of it at first. He doesn't mind the cat itself. No he thought it was cute, the black fur made it look mysterious and cool but it was really affectionate, and he was lowkey worried he will accidentally step on it and kill it by accident and you'll get sad Or angry or whatever those human emotions you'll go through.

He couldn't do anything to it either, he tried to avoid it as much as he could but he could only do so much against a furry creature with a keen sense of smell. And then he had no choice but to accept that a small kitten was playing around his lap and pockets. He immediately grabbed it by its entire body and placed it firmly on the spot next to him when he heard you coming.

Did that stop the kitten? No, it immediately went back to trying to play on his lap.

He sometimes stares at both you and the tiny cat play together. Lifting it up by its armpits and holding the animal close to your face as it licks your nose and you laugh sweetly. Michael decided to have a staring contest with the cat and glare at it later that night,And he lost when your baby started licking his face too.

Now he doesn't have the energy to gaf when your furry child latches itself to michel and sniff and mess with his clothes affectionately. Ig it was a nice backup company when you were gone.

Jason Voorhees 🪓

He doesn't even know how such a small cute animal like that can survive in a place where he lives.

Honestly he was scared of it at first. Similar to Michael he was scared he was gonna accidentally hurt it. And he may or may not have heard of those superstitions of black cats bringing bad luck, he tried his best to avoid it but the sheer power of a kitten's love and beauty is far too much for even a 6'5 huge bulky killing machine to resist.

It started when you went out one day for necessities Jason gets kinda sad and depressed but then your little cutie came and rubbed it's face into Jason's pants, looking for his attention and then bam. You come home to find the both of them running around the campus. (Ur kitten was jumping around and you almost died.)

The cat will soon take after the characteristics of his 'father'. Both are intently looking at you while following you wherever you go and you don't really know what to do. (Insert Jason and a black kitty with it's tail moving slowly from side to side while both are staring at you.)

He definitely likes playing with the musty overcooked puss but gets embarrassed when you find them and if you start teasing him. It's not like you're insulting him but he doesn't want you to view him as someone who is overly soft and maybe "unmanly".

He gets jealous (jealous?) When he sees the both of you together... Without him!? He's stomping towards you guys and then stares at both of you.

Will literally get so angry or panic or maybe both if a victim had discovered either of you. Makes it his goal to turn that person into nothing but chunky messy pieces of bloody meat if it even dares tries contact with you two.

There will be no harm guaranteed with Jason by you and your kitty's side.

Thomas hewitt ⛓️

Fell in love with your baby kitten at first sight, Literally!

He's a busy man but loves spending free time with you and your four legged sweetie even if he's tired. He melts into a blob of hot glue when he's chopping up victims and it climbs from his back to his shoulders and just rests and Or spends the entire time with him.

We all know Thomas is warm, so that hairy coal dusted meow meow will soon eventually fall asleep on Thomas, and it's the most heartwarming and cutest thing when you see the love of your life with your smol ass child on the palm of his hands like a little sushi roll and sleeping peacefully.

You will also commonly find Thomas and the cat together in bed during nighttime, they are best friends now.

He just looks at the cat while it's nuzzling up to him and wonders 'how can such a small thing live?'

We all know hoyt is a bastard and WILL try to mess with your dark choco pussycat but Thomas and Luda mae are in the dark corner with white glowing pupils. (Plus you running towards him straight with a pan.) Your kitty doesn't see anything wrong though, such a sweet one.

He loves how cuddly your cat is, it's the perfect solution when the family starts getting stressed. One little paw on any limb and it'll instantly lighten the mood.

He wishes he can spend more time with you and your newly adopted child but business is business but the time will come where you can all act like one small but big family<3.

Sinclair brothers 🕯

Bo despised it at first. Like really. He already has one mutt to take care of (not rlly) and now there's a fucking cat in the house? He wanted to avoid it as much as possible but the fact it just followed him no matter where he went both annoyed him and flattered him. He decides to sit down and the coca cola flavoured kitten child decides to sit with him too? And have the audacity to lick his clothes??? Well it's not that bad... Still, he picked it up and dropped it where you were and the vantablack, wormhole, monstrous shadow king of the land of darkness turns around and meows at him. Bo quickly left after that. He's a prick sometimes and messes with the kitty like holding it by it's collar but all it does is meow, lick, purr and hug his arm or bury its face into Bo's clothes and what can he even do anyways. After a while he started to not mind, actually loves it. But he will deny to no end if you ask him if he does though. But you saw how he and the cat fell asleep on top of each other one night. And that's more than enough for an answer.

Vincent thinks it's adorable, he's wondered how having a cat would be like for quite a while and safe to say he's not disappointed. It's nice to have a warm fuzzy little thing playing around him when he's painting, it would've been perfect if you were there and leaned against him. He's honestly pretty surprised the poosay actually wants to hang out around him, the place he's in is really warm 24/7 and he doesn't expect an animal to like it. The power of love is indeed strong. Coming to your boyfriend's room and finding him in his bed with your kitten just chilling around is probably hot and cute. Absolutely handles your fluffy ball of black fur child with a loving and gentle care and you often see vincent trying to make Jonesy and the cat get familiar with each other. I can see him getting along pretty well with animals? It's a lottery since your cat likes to get touchy. Likes painting the black fusty and damp blop of flesh, just waving the paintbrush around while your baby tries ro catch it is just *sobs*. black kitties are aesthetic and he knows it. Bro 100% falls in love again when he sees you with the burnt living food, it's in his mind rent free forever now.

Lester loves it, he already has a dog he takes care of and now there's a cat!? Sign him up! It takes a little while getting used to for Lester, having a cat is nothing like having a dog. He's used to the sheer power of a toddler sized pitbull lunging towards him (playfully) but now he has a tea cup sized baby cat that you can crush with 5% of power climbing up his pants? Damn this was better than he expected. He always heard some people say cats are the equivalent of evil and he was prepared for its attacks but now those people are mute to him. He didn't bring the fetus that close to Jonesy because what if she eats it (jonesy wouldn't do that). Honestly lester is just having the time of his life with two dawgs and you find them on all ground after maybe 1 hour sleeping peacefully and you joined them too cause you ain't missing out on something like that. Sometimes he forgets that it's weaker and more fragile than jonesy and uses more strength than needed when playing with the kit, your little baby just thinks it's extra strong love though<3.

After Michelle and Henry are gone, Ted stays standing there on the sidewalk for a long time. It’s probably a long time, anyway. He’s not entirely sure because the same empty static feeling keeping him from walking back to his flat is also preventing him from taking such motions as checking his phone for the time. It’s drizzling and he should get going but instead he just keeps standing there, watching the spot at the turn in the road where he had last seen the cab’s taillights before it disappeared from view. Ted feels strange and distant and entirely too present in his body all at the same time. He feels like he doesn’t quite fit right in it, like it was made for someone else and he’d just ended up here by mistake, by some sort of accident, and no one knew how to put it to rights. The sound of his name gets Ted’s attention a few moments after it’s actually been said. He doesn’t even really know if it was just his name or if it was part of a larger sentence, nor does he have any idea who said it. At least it seems to have broken whatever spell of immobility had taken him over and he’s able to turn his head to look and see who it was. Jamie is standing there, a few feet away, hands tucked into his hoodie pockets and backpack slung over one shoulder. The sight of him, while usually welcome, is not what Ted was hoping to see just at this precise moment. His shoulders feel immediately tight, apprehension setting his teeth on edge. When he opens his mouth to speak, Ted holds up a hand. It’s buzzing like it’s fallen asleep, pins and needles prickling up and down his palm and his own voice sounds distant and strange when he interrupts whatever Jamie was about to say before he can get it out. “Whatever it is, Jamie, not tonight,” Ted says. It comes out clipped and stiff, at least as far as he can tell through what sounds like about twelve feet of water. “I can’t deal with your… Whatever you’ve gotta say, please save it this time.” Though his mouth still remains open like he’s about to, Jamie doesn’t say anything. He looks surprised and taken aback like that was the last thing he’d expected Ted to say. In the long and thick silence that hangs between them while neither of them say anything further, Ted begins to feel like he’s just made an awful mistake. Even so, he doesn’t know how to fix what has just slipped strangely sideways. He doesn’t even feel like he’s turned the right way up inside his own head. “I just wanted to see if you were alright,” is what Jamie eventually comes up with. He takes a step back, hand coming up to grip the strap of the backpack with a nervous, flexing grip. The look on his face has gone from stung surprise to guilty embarrassment. “You looked… sad. And I just. I wanted to- Sorry, though, see you ‘round.” And then he’s gone. Shannon is waiting down at the end of the street and Jamie turns and goes towards her, walking quickly with his head down. They turn together and leave in a different direction than Jamie goes when he’s going home, off where Ted is pretty sure that Shannon lives, and then he can’t see them anymore. Michelle and Henry are gone and now Jamie is gone too and Ted feels like he’s done something terrible. He feels like he’s done something terrible and maybe he’s done a lot of terrible things, things he can’t take back and doesn’t know how to recover from, so he walks back up to his flat alone with his static mind and his pins and needles hands. As he walks through the doorway, numbly dropping his keys in the bowl next to it with the thoughtless motion of rote automation, Ted’s thoughts are spinning. He walks to the couch and drops down onto it, thinking about Jamie’s wide startled eyes and saying goodbye to Michelle and the way that Henry had turned and waved out the back of the cab. In one sudden, sharp moment, Ted puts his head in his hands and sobs. It's a loud, shattering sound in the enormous and empty apartment. He doesn’t stop for a long time.

It is Michelle in the video. I met her at RICC last year, and she seemed nice enough. I asked her if she runs Stands, and she said yes. I told her I’d seen her online, and she said, “oh, I’m so bad on Twitter,” and kind of laughed about it. But then she started talking about how people can be so toxic on that site, or something to that effect. What I found strange was that it wasn’t only her there, but also Charlie and Clif. Anson wasn’t there. She and Clif were hovering around the auto lines and Charlie was in back of Jared. The whole setup was just… strange. Like they were all glomping onto Jared, in particular, but also Gen, I suppose. I’ve seen my share of hangers-on, and it was kind of like that, but also sort of like they were “guarding” Jared in particular. Like, the only access you had to Jared was through them. And he was the only one that I knew of that had an entourage of sorts there. I don’t know if my assessment is correct or not. But something just felt off, like, why are they there? RICC has its own security. I can understand if Jared and/or Gen wanted them there for support, but again, it’s really odd that they seem to ensure that everyone from fandom knows who they are. And don’t even get me started on Anson… name-dropping and bragging on his IG about who he’s with all the time. Oh, and Michelle did that too, talking about how she went on some trip with some of the SPN cast somewhere or other. She name-dropped Alaina Huffman, even though no one asked. So, I don’t know. But I’ve personally seen Jared be very friendly with BNFs who are rather shady, giving them special attention or whatever, and it sometimes makes me wonder how good his judgment of others sometimes is. And I love him, he’s a beautiful soul, and I like Gen too, but I just wonder if they may be surrounding themselves with shady people, and if so, why? They’re wonderful people and really don’t need to if that’s the case. Just my opinion. And maybe I’m wrong and they’re the loveliest people in the world, I don’t know them. But it’s just a sense I get.

Well said, anon. I would be interested to know if any of these people have some extra job that Jared pays them for, i.e., personal assistant, handler, etc. We know Anson provides security and Clif... sort-of security, but also handler. If Charlie and Michelle have additional responsibilities, that would make more sense for them to be hanging out that much with the Pads. But because we don't know, and because others seem to exploit their relationships, it's hard to know if they're actual hanger-ons or if they provide a valuable service.

And maybe they're just really good friends who are really nice and considerate to the Pads in person, but have an awful online presence. I imagine it's fairly hard for celebrities to have close, constant friendships with other celebrities of their caliber, simply due to the nature of the job and the distance the job can create.

Hopefully, Jared and Gen also get something out of their relationships with their entourage. Good friendships need to be reciprocal in order to last.

Terran desperately needs a hug but doesn't know it and refuses to ask for one. 10/10, actually 100/10, this is so incredibly accurate. Both doesn't know it and refuses to ask. But so needs it. And yearns for it.

Terran screams like an anime girl. 4/10. Bc like maybe. Occasionally. I don't think he screams often.

Terran is a theatre kid. 1/10. Nope! Ig he's dramatic but yeah no he doesn't for that vibe.

Raymond

Raymond is in your house. 5/10. Not often but there might be some very specific circumstances? Much more likely if he's trying to save your life though

It would not take much for Raymond to turn evil. 3/10. Raymond is very unlikely to turn evil, very much the goodest boy, but I can't deny that there have been some things manipulating him to do evil.

If the sorce media was a musical, Raymond would be the one character that asks why everyone is singing. 2/10. Probably not, I can definitely imagine him singing.

Mika

If someone they knew commited a crime, Mika would cover for them. 8/10 yeah in most circumstances she would, in others she would have no choice but to. Some people she would sell out.

Mika believes in Santa. 5/10. I can see her believing in Santa up until being taken in by Zachary butt he for sure ruined that. But I also don't think she did up till then.

Mika enjoys doing taxes. 6/10. It's not true but it's also not completely ooc.

Zachary

Zachary is a cry baby. 0/10. I kinda doubt this man even cried when the love of his life" died.

Zachary knocks people over by hugging them. 4/10. Contrary to what one may expect, he does hug occasionally. But that's bc he uses affection manipulativly. So he wouldn't knock someone over.

Alexander can't sit in a chair properly. 7/10. I don't think this is true but it's an entertaining hc that has a shed of possibility.

Alexander tells dad jokes. 4/10. I don't think he does. I don't know what kind of jokes he does make. Cruel ones?

Alexander has an incredible spice tolorance. 8/10. Sure, why not. I can see him building one up purposefully so no one can one-up him.

Nicholas (Terran's dad, deceased)

If Nicholas likes someone, they will give them a pretty rock. 7/10. I was gunna say no but then imagined him giving one to ally and yeah he would absolutely do that.

Nicholas gets road rage. 5/10. Could go either way. I don't think he gets rage-y though.

Nicholas sucks at saying tongue twisters. 7/10. Yeah i can see that for him.

Ally (Terran's mom, deceased)

Ally has fallen asleep at their desk while working in the middle of the night. 8/10. Probably, if it was something she was passionate about. She hated her job though. If this was Michelle, definitely.

Ally can drive. 10/10. Yeah? And? She's an adult obsessed with gaining freedom and independence. Of course she can.

Ally is a sleepwalker. 6/10. I don't see it for her but it's a fine hc.

Michelle killed Princess Diana. 6/10. I mean, look. Everyone here (except Jodi) has killed someone. And that killing is often centered around political gain. Princess Diana doesn't exist in this though, so no.

Michelle is unemployed. 2/10. Girl is a self-starter.

Michelle stole a lollipop at the checkout when they were 5 and they still feel guilty about it. 8/10. She would lol. Even if she was taught to as training or whatever she would feel guilty about it.

Ariel does not know how to read. 0/10. She def knows how too read. Directly contradicts story.

If Ariel was presented with an intergalactic portal, they would enter it without question. 3/10. It wouldn't be without question but she would consider it.

Jasmine's favorite color is pink. 6/10. Jasmine is too cool/ hard edges for that. But I also think it's a cute hc for her.

Jasmine is an oldest child. 5/10. Jasmine gives off only child energy to me (which is true) but I can see her having oldest energy.

Summer truly jumped through hoops and was a damn near acrobat trying to figure out when she could not only get herself done up but actually record the challenge. Being the perfectionist that she was didn’t help, but the fact that she couldn’t recall the last time she’d put on makeup and dressed up was a whole other fiasco.

Quarantine definitely brought out her bum side.

“All of that aside, I truly was satisfied and happy with the final product when I posted it. In hindsight, I should have just left it that, but I wake up every day and choose chaos, so I decided to read the comments.” She blew out a breath. “One of the most frequent comments and really, insults, I’ve received my whole career. Primarily, since I was cast as Storm, revolves around how I look. I.e., my weight. I’ve been called fat, obese, out of shape, and so many other things.”

It was 100% true. The minute Marvel announced that she’d been chosen to play Storm, the racists came all out of the woodworks. She was too short, too chubby, too dark, too black. And Summer didn’t care, not a bit.

“Even,—and I’ll tell you guys this, when I first started my SS training, that’s what I call it, SS for Storm Shape, there was a—person who worked for Marvel at the time who came to visit me while I was training.” She smiled thinking back on that day. She could still recall it so clearly. “He basically was pissed because to him, I still looked the same, fat and out of shape.” She adjusted her top and shifted in her bed. “That same day, I deadlifted and bench-pressed over 200lbs” She paused for effect. “What I need for people to stop doing is stop fucking projecting—and I’m going to cuss in this, so if you don’t like it, oh well. I work for Disney, but I’m a grown ass woman, and I’m going to say what I want.”

I 1000% acknowledge the fact that having the resources that I do as a celebrity and someone who has money puts me in a different category. Hell, my husband has a whole fitness app. I recognize that. If I wanted to keep up with my workouts, emphasis on wanted, I could have. I own up to that, but I just didn’t feel like it, and that’s okay. What’s not okay is to send and leave mean messages calling me all kinds of names.”

Summer had thick skin. She always had. Growing up with her family, who always ensured to feed her self esteem and make sure she knew that she was beautiful, definitely paid off. It was just a combination of quarantine and not having a lot of opportunities to keep herself busy with work that had her feeling some type of way.

“And that’s something else I wanted to bring up.” She blew out another breath and tried to gather her emotions. This was the subject she was almost certain she’d grow teary eyed discussing. “I love my husband to death. My children are everything. Christopher’s family is like my own, but— I haven’t seen my family, like my mom, grandma, brothers, etc in almost a year.” She paused, dwelling on that. Almost an entire year since she’d been able to physically hug and interact with the people who made her who she was. “And I’ve always made it clear how much I fucking love my family. I live in Australia. I can’t do a drive by with grandma so I and my kids can at least see her on the doorstep.” She quieted again, eyes darting off as she quietly cursed. “I’m trying really hard not to cry right now.”

I feel her pain. I live in Europe, and my family is in the states. This quarantine has been brutal.

My grandma died from COVID, and I couldn’t even go to the funeral. Summer is bringing up a good point.

“Damn,” Summer chuckled bitterly and wiped at the tears that fell. “I’m okay, I promise. I just bring this up because quarantine has also been very hard for me in that aspect. At certain points, I’ve been down, I’ve been in my head a lot, and I just was not, for the most part, in a space where I felt like I had to keep up my fitness regimen. And that’s okay. I put my mental wellbeing ahead of making sure my body is socially acceptable. Sue me.”

I really appreciate her honesty.

Summer never goes beyond surface level in interviews, so seeing her this vulnerable is really surprising.

Summer rolled her eyes at the typical nature of the comments. These were the reasons she limited her time on social media and especially stayed away from reading the comments. Her attention was redirected to the top of her phone. It was a text from Christopher asking her to call him.

“But we’re—oh, I get it.” She realized he wanted to talk to her, not her and her tens of millions of followers. “Alright, guys, I’m gonna get off here so I can talk to my husband, alone.”

“She just doesn’t want to share me with you all, that’s all.”

“Don’t even start, Christopher,” she lectured while he laughed and got serious, for a minute tops.

“Hope you all are taking care and staying safe,” he spoke honestly. “And we’ll talk to you soon.”

Summer waved and smile. “Bye, guys. Remember to be kind.” Summer offered a final smile before ending the live. Closing up the app, she moved to open FaceTime and called up Christopher. He answered almost immediately. “You know I hate when you watch my Lives. Now, how much did you see?”

“Enough to know you’re coming to see me tonight.”

She laughed aloud. “Funny.”

“I’m serious, Summer.” Focusing on him, she realized that there was no humor in his voice nor his expression. Summer also noticed that he didn’t have the Thor wig on yet, which was probably why he was able to go live with her. He was waiting to get into hair and makeup. “Leave the kids with Liam. It’s not like he’s doing anything.”

“Christopher!”

“What? Is he not a professional unemployed bastard.”

Summer’s smile remained as she shook her head. “You are so mean.”

“I’ll handle the flight arrangements. You, my beautiful wife, just make sure you get on the jet so I can handle you.”

“Christopher, you’re working. People with everyday jobs don’t just up and show up to their spouses workplace because they miss them or need a break from the kids. That’s how folks get fired.”

Christopher started to move around, walking somewhere, she realized. “What are you doing?”

“I am not bringing those damn chickens,” she immediately protested.

Christopher made a sound. “Ha, so you are coming!”

“I didn’t say that.”

Taika joined Christopher so that he was in camera. “Hey, Summer, why don’t you come on join? You can have a cameo. Chickens, too.”

She rubbed her temples. Taika’s and Chris’s friendship would never not make sense to her. They were cut from the same cloth. “One, hey. Two, I was already in Ragnarok. I’m good on the cameos. Three, what is with ya’ll and those creepy looking chickens?”

“Whoa, creepy? What did the chickens ever do?”

“Exist,” Summer answered dryly. She still hadn’t forgiven Evans and Christopher for convincing her to let the kids keep those damn things. Her home was becoming more and more of a farm with each animal that joined the household.

“Tough crowd, that one, ehh?”

“Always,” Christopher agreed.

“I can hear you both,” she reminded and groaned loudly. Summer would love to spend a few days away from the kids. Chris would be working, yes, but she’d at least get some time for herself. Even better, alone adult time with her husband. That had also been a bit tricky during quarantine because of her rambunctious twins. Still, she disliked using her status as a celebrity to gain things, and this would definitely be a case of using status for pull. “I don’t know….”

Deep in her thoughts, she hadn’t realized that Chris had walked away and returned to wherever he was prior to finding Taika, most likely his trailer.

“What if you only stayed a night?” Chris tried to bargain. “The flight is only an hour and a half. That will give you more than enough time to come here, let me fix you dinner, run you a nice bath, maybe get in the good ole’ horizontal tango—”

“You know I hate when you call it that,” she reminded quietly, admitting. “That does sound nice, though.”

“Or, I can come to you—“

“Absolutely not. Christopher, you’re already doing so much back and forth as it is.” One of the good things to come out of quarantine, to Summer at least, was that it forced many people to take a much needed break. Her husband was one of those people. Christopher had been working nonstop since she met him. Project after project, film after film, many of them Marvel films, which put a whole other layer of difficulty what with the strenuous physical requirements. Even now as he shot Thor 4, he was in the best shape he’d ever been, muscles nearly tearing the cotton of his clothes. He looked amazing, but it was what they couldn’t see that she was starting to grow a little concerned over. Christopher wasn’t as young as he once was. He had to slow down, eventually.

Summer realized this would be a perfect chance to have a conversation about just that with him, which all but led her to her final decision.

“Alright,” she conceded, finger up as she made her demands. “Three days, and I stay at the house while you shoot. We may be returning to normal, but we’re still in a pandemic. I won’t go around anyone except you.”

“So I get you all to myself? Hardly consider that a stipulation.”

“And…we talk.”

“After the horizontal tango—“

“I swear to God, if you don’t stop calling it that—“

“What was that, sweetheart? I wasn’t listening.” She saw that he had paused the screen, causing Summer to remember that she hadn’t even consulted with the babysitter. “Making flight arrangements for you.”

“Shit, let me text Liam and make sure he’s available.”

“He gets reception in the box?”

“Christopher! For the last time, your brother is not living in a box.”

“Do you know that for certain?”

“Goodbye, Christopher,” she prepared to end the call before smiling softly. “I love you, Christopher, and thank you.”

He winked. “I’ll always do anything for you, Summer. Anything.” A beat. “Don’t forget to leave the clothes. You won’t need them.”

I wasn’t going to respond to your post about “GW” as it didn’t seem like you wanted feedback, but you published a response to it, so I decided to go ahead and respond. I don’t care whether you publish this or not, I just want to say I agree 100% with your comments, and the person who responded too. I am actually encouraged when I see people comment about Graham like this as I think that, as a ‘celebrity’, he is dangerous. 

I enjoy heartland for many reasons. There are a lot of themes which match my sense of morality or things I believe to be true - What goes around comes around, believing in yourself, not giving up on horses or people, that many people have issues related to their childhood and/or parents, etc. But I also loved the Amy & Ty thing in the early seasons, when they were first accepting that they loved each other, etc. But, like the person who responded to your comments, I also thought Ty’s attitude towards Amy changed after Season 8.  I would assume that the change in relationship was a result of the writers but why did they do this? Were they trying to move into a new phase showing that once you get married (and no longer 'pursuing’ someone) things change? Were they trying to prepare us for other solutions ie they get divorced? Or was it actually the actors themselves influencing this?

 Specific to Graham, I don’t even know what has happened to him. I was fine with his early podcasts and he recommended some great books (like the Michael Singer books). I am very open to philosophical ideas so I didn’t mind when some of the discussions went towards more abstract things like meditation. But he started promoting things via his IG stories and Twitter like Dr Joe Dispenza and later Lynette, whom I view as “new wave” snake oil peddlers.  He would portray himself as moderate in opinion about COVID in his podcasts at first, but meanwhile he was re-posting extreme things from whom I consider right wing people like Joe Rogan, Ron Paul, etc.  He posted a talk show discussion where the actor Jim Caviezel suggested that Christians should be arming themselves, that a war was brewing between secular people and Christians. WTF?  I followed up on some of the covid related stuff he re-posted and what I found were videos that had been selectively edited to give false impressions, to articles where the data was misleading or drew wild conclusions based on no evidence, or where the authors clearly just didn’t understand how vaccines work, etc. It seems like he is searching for something and readily falls prey to snake oil salesmen. It actually cracks me up when I see people fawning over him and how nice he is etc but meanwhile he is promoting things that hurt people.  Personally, I think there are legitimate issues regarding our response to COVID. How far society is willing to go to get people to get vaccinated etc is a legitimate ethical question. But I start with the premises that I care about other people and will do things to help others even if it means I am inconvenienced (at least health wise),  I generally trust the science, that vaccines work, that COVID is dangerous, and there could very well be more dangerous things to come along in the future so it matters how we handle COVID.  I get that this is a hard fight, that people are tired of endless restrictions, etc, but Graham doesn’t even accept the basic premises nor care about people other than himself …. I have lost all respect for him and I hope he doesn’t take Amber down with him.  I kind of wonder if he has already created issues within the people involved in Heartland (ie whatever happened between Michelle, Alisha and Graham) Submitted by: rippleish20 ________________________

It’s okay! I should have been more clear that I meant more in line of I would rather not get messages like “You should support him in everything because he gave us Ty!” or “Why does it matter what he thinks/does?” because I already explained my stance. As in, more about how I run the blog and how I want my blogging experience to be like, etc.

It is interesting, the whole timeline, and you two mentioning season 8. When he left the show, Amber mentioned in one of those “goodbye interviews” that he has been thinking about leaving for 5 years. Which would then be around season 8-9, depending whether she was referring to season 13 or season 14. I do think that there was probably “something going on” with the writers (based on the way they handled season 8) and the response the season got, but after hearing Amber’s comment, there was probably something going on behind the scenes too. And I don’t mean any drama, but more like a shift, a realization, just like with Ty and Amy. Because up until that point, there was this possibility that Ty and Amy would get married, but after season 8 finale it was almost like a real marriage; you’re in it for good. For a person who never planned on becoming an actor, that could have been this “oh shit, how long is this going to go on? Is this all there is to my life?” moment.

I mean, later on, it’s even more obvious he wanted to leave and seasons 10-11 were especially written with him in mind (Ty’s journey in Mongolia, etc). Even with newest seasons (S12-13), looking back, you can kind of see that most of his storylines were about action scenes or trouble Ty got himself into. It really feels like the story was no longer as much about Ty AND Amy, but rather Ty, and Amy. I know back in season 10, they were already planning on writing him out (in the finale), but I guess they were able to reel him back in because it never happened. I have a feeling that if the writers had had their way, 100%, the story would have been different from season 9->. I don’t think Ty would have been gone as much and I don’t think he would’ve died.

But yeah, you can definitely see the patterns more easily now that we know the outcome and that is exactly the reason why all these conspiracies about other people running him out back in 2020 don’t make sense (to me). I truly think when their last full season (S13) together as a cast wrapped, they were all fine with one another. Covid might have created tensions, but if everything went as it always does after a season, they were already arcing Ty’s death before we even knew what covid was.

As for the other stuff you mentioned, I agree. This type of radicalization by the algorithm is dangerous. You start looking into harmless stuff at first, sort of entertain all these interesting theories and alternative thoughts, but the more time you spend clicking into “videos/articles you might find interesting”, the deeper you get into it. It’s all crafted to “make sense” and create this addiction where your paranoia starts to feed itself without you hardly doing anything.

Like, for example, I have a co-worker who has a friend who has gotten into this whole conspiracy hole. This co-worker has no idea what Heartland is or who GW is. But whenever she would list all the things her friend would post about on Facebook, it was like I was listening to her talk about the same things GW was posting/promoting. These two parts of “my world” were not connected in any way, and yet… they were.

Finally, I totally agree with you that it’s important to have those conversations about legitimate ethical questions, especially because in these type of situations there’s never quick right answers or actions. That is exactly the reason why these conversations should be had.

Put “📓” or some other version of a book emoji into my inbox and I’ll explain the plot of a fanfiction that I haven’t written but daydream about.

The Ancient Olympics AU (which I talked about with @crispyliza )

This AU came into being after I relistened to the "The Ancient Olympics" episode of the history/comedy podcast "You're Dead To Me". It had the interesting information that a lot of Olympic winners actually came from Sicily & South Italy! So naturally I began to wonder what might have happened if my Sicilians ended up in Olympia ...

Dramatis Personae:

- Michele Vento (APH Sicily, my OC) as Trainer of the Bontade Twins - Marco & Lorenzo Bontade (Human OCs of mine) as Athletes from Syracuse - Herakles Karpuzi (APH Greece) as Athlete from Athens - Timothea Simonides (Human OC) as Herakles' Trainer - Omar Simonides (Human OC) as ... Good question? Co-Trainer to Thea ig

The Happenings™:

- Lorenzo and Marco want to compete in the upcoming Olympics as runners. Michele,probably a distant relative to them who lives close, becomes their trainer.

- The Sicilians roll up to Olympia, most likely a few days early because travelling is an adventure in these days and it doesn't hurt to have a few extra days to get accustomed to the terrain.

- Michele also definitely loses the Bontade twins 10 minutes after arriving at the sanctuary bc he wasn't looking for 0.5 seconds. So now he lost his boys at a place that currently contains approximately half of Magna Graecia.

- The reason he wasn't paying attention? Some athletes were preparing themselves nearby, bucknaked of course. Amongst them Herakles. Michele has always been a sucker for strong arms and legs, so that plus Herakles' beautiful face has him swooning from the get go.

- After he recollects his twins, they spend the next few days training, as do the other athletes, which is when Herakles notices Michele's looks.

- Christina (crispyliza) had the galaxy brain idea that Herakles intentionally flirts with Michele to sabotage the Bontades success at the games. It's an idea that he comes up with together with the Simonides - to be completely fair, it was probably Timothea's. Omar: "My, looks like you've got a fanboy." Herakles: "And what a pretty one at that." Timothea: "He seems to be a bit shy about it, though. Or maybe he's actually after those twin brothers?" (They figure out he's the Bontades trainer) Timothea: "Oh, he's a trainer! Pretty sucky at his job though if he's oogling the competition so much." Omar: "All the better for us, though." Timothea: -oil lamp ignites over her head bc light bulbs aren't invented yet-

- While we're at the Simonides: This was before it was mandatory for everyone to be naked, so Timothea managed to sneak into the games by posing as a man. Omar helps her with it, since he's trans and thusly got experience. Christina also had the hilarious idea of them having fake beards, which is just, YES. Timothea definitely cut her hair and they made whatever beard is in fashion in Athens at the time out of them. Their mother Natasa used to be a famed winner of the Heraea, the woman's games also held in Olympia.

- So let the games GreSic flirting begin

- The Problem: Michele doesn't want his boys to think he's betraying them for a rival athlete. He also really wants Herakles to rail him. The Solution: Find ways to be sneaky and secretive about it so the twins don't have to find out. Here is one of the possible scenarios I had for this: "When I first thought about this, I also had this scene in my head. Idk how accurate it works, bc it involves a tent and in the ydtm episode they didn't mention how people were housed during the games. (Like, I am sure there were guest houses, the temples probably offered some places to sleep, both of that but in upscale fancy for all the rich and important people attending yadda yadda.) Do you know that trope(?) when someone has sex but is trying to hide it? That. Just Michele sticking his head out of the tent, clutching at the fabric to keep everything else closed. Tells his twins, who looked for him, he is kind of busy rn. Tries is best to hide the fact of what is actually happening and to make them leave. It works. Kind of. Because as soon as they are gone, Michele sighs with a :| look and tells Hera to stop. "But why?" "Because you would have to nail every corner of this tent down and then they'd still find a way to spy!" Which is exactly what the twins ARE doing. They are trying their best to get an unnoticed peak from one place of the tent. But because it has to be subtle, all they get to see is feet and they either don't hear them or don't recognize Herakles' voice. I don't think he is the person to go out of his way to pick on people or pick fights in general, so they probably haven't had much interaction. So Michele smoothes out his chiton annoyed and leaves the tent, to then just stomp around enough for the twins to notice him and pretend they weren't doing what he knew they were doing."

- One day however, Marco & Lorenzo are missing their trainer and can't find him. They run into Thea & Omar, who are missing their athlete. Hm. Weird. Wonder what's that all about :)

- They end up catching Michele and Herakles in the act, just out there somewhere underneath a tree, which, naturally, makes the Bontades VERY upset. Lorenzo: "What do you think you are doing?!" Omar, in his head: 'Herakles, obviously.' Marco: "He's the COMPETITION, Michele!" Both: "You've left us all alone for THAT?!" Since the Simonides were in on the whole thing, they're not surprised just disappointed that Herakles vanished without a heads up. "Well, that ain't sprinting practice."

- The most hilarious thing is that could not even tell you who wins the race. I didn't even think about that part until yesterday. I'm kind of particular to the thought that it's somewhat of a photo finish with the three of them, but the twins come out on top. Since there can only be one winner, they flippantly let one of them be chosen by the equivalent of a coin toss. So technically, either Marco or Lorenzo has won, but they keep both parading around with the wreath and insist that the inscription to them mentions them both as winners. Now, if they got their way is another story, I didn't read any academic articles on this at. all.

- Second place is as good as last in the Ancient Greek world, but Herakles takes the loss in stride. Timothea is probably the one who's most upset. Marco: "Hah, so all your flexing - " Lorenzo: "and all your fucking for nothing in the end!" Michele: "Hey, I'd like to think I'm a reward in and of myself, not an obstacle."

Sequel Bait:

- Back home in Siracusa, Michele gets asked if he doesn't want to train his cousins, too. The ones from Neapolis. The ones Michele can't stand. However, his mother talks him into it and he agrees. Extra funny because Lovino & Feliciano were also talked into it by THEIR parents. So Michele spends the next four years butting heads with Lovino, knowing fully well their mother will rip his head off if they don't do well. Lovino is of course hiding his giant insecurities about disappointing his loving father & mother behind snark. Michele will arrive at Olympia with four athletes in two this time and looks like he aged 40, not 4 years from all the stress.

- Herakles is no competition this time, though! He wants to try his hand at wrestling this year. However, very quickly after his arrival, he butts heads with a fellow wrestler from one of the Greek colonies in Asia minor. Only thing's more annoying than his big mouth, which he shares with his wrestling buddy, are probably the flirtations coming out of it & Herakles can't wait to show him his place. (Yes, I do know that the Turkish people came into the area that is modern day Turkey far, far later, he should be of another ethnicity [and he gotta be Greek to participate, anyways] but. Is any of you really going to deny me Herakles and Sadık wrestling, bucknaked, covered in oil? I'd hope the fuck not.)

I wonder if what you mentioned about Michelle not being aware how problematic some things come off is just an actor thing? Idk really how to explain but there’s such a weird mental space when you’re acting of having to get into the character so deeply when you’re on set but then also, it’s just a job and you have to distance yourself from it when you go home for the day. And in all that I wonder how much actors actually think about their shows having real affects on people and society.

Idk if *I* even understand what I’m getting at but like actors and writers and directors are all so aware that what they’re doing is just work, just entertainment and Not Real that I wonder if they’re blind to the fact it actually does have real-world impact. Ik Miranda’s also made some comments that ppl haven’t liked about Zelda’s storyline. Idk, it seems like they’re in some way both too close and too distant to realize maybe they SHOULD be more critical about what they’re portraying??

i definitely get what you’re saying! i remember when miranda said that “swipe left situation” thing about the scene where satan is blatantly coming to r*pe zelda--which is disturbing, but i can get how someone would just kinda blurt that out while talking, especially if they’re not thinking very hard about it. ig it’s very different to experience the story from inside of it, rather than experience it as an audience, especially an audience that’s looking critically at overall themes. probably also the very close, accelerated schedule of shooting a tv show, and the common practice of not shooting scenes in order, would make it difficult for an actor to easily step back and try to take the show as a whole, and that plus the mindset you describe would lead to situations like this. i think at the end of the day, whatever the source or psychology of it, we're agreeing that these aren’t people who are necessarily malicious about what they’re doing, and aren’t intending to cause harm. and i think while responsibility is shared--and i think even though we may be fans, it’s irresponsible on our part to totally absolve the actors for what they do--ultimately i look to the writers and showrunners, whose job it is to think critically about the show as a whole, when i’m placing blame about the messages the show transmits.
