ARTDROP RADIO pt.1 was recorded yesterday. It was an honor to record at the @wokeface studio with @wokeface - @rxskulls - @skamsticker - @austin_canvas It was cool to finally feel a generation gap. To feel a need to understand where the youth is going and how I might help, where I might fit and what can I learn. We worked at defining what street art is... We explored the difference between street art and underground art and touched on the importance of free speech and how there seems to be an attempt at redefining free speech by the younger generation. To hand down information from my life's experience is important to me. It's important to show off my mistakes as well as triumphs and try to add to the evolution of human kind through the free thought movement I hold dear. Guess I have some years in as I recall the start of podcasting. Back in the day, it was fun to explore thought for the sake of raising collective intelligence. Yesterday I recorded some audio that has energized me to want to record more. I am lucky to have shared time with such vital artists... The search for true art has to start within the class divide. The artist of a lower class feels the cage of expression for the power of their intentions. The high class artist frees their expression with the power of their wallet. The lower class artist sets trends. The higher class artist lifts trends. The lower class artist has a culture. The higher class artist appropriates culture. Affluence is what you see in your films, on your museum walls, in your music. The search for true art must start at the lowest of classes… the brute. The lower classes define true art. The higher class writes the definition of what art is and is not. Street art is an art from, for and by the lower classes… street art is an art of struggle. Underground art is a combination of dissidents from all classes with the same goal… to smash the state… it is a combination of pure expression and political outrage. the underground looks to free the mind. My underground work at it's best, attempts to chisel away at the moral fiber that pushes a person to feel guilt for who and what they are or, who and what they love… I'm a proud explorer of the free thought movement… I'm a proud adventurer from the upper low class… I'm a proud underground artist who came from the street. If you're a poor artist working with rich folk, don't. Stick to your own and culturally appropriate their business plan as they culturally appropriate your life force and culture. Or just make art without playing the game. Make art with meaning and depth and a pure intent. My first marking tool. I use tools like this to make my unique markings in my sculpture. I plan on posting more to my feed this year... I've gotten lazy and have been using the story feature on IG. Well, not lazy in any real sense... I've decided to move from a home I've lived for 9 years, the longest I've ever lived in one place. In the last 21 years I've HAD to move 13 times. I need to be active as I can in an art scene that is alive and exciting rather than try and participate in an old and pretentious craft scene that pretends to be art based, with all of the old attitude and politics only a lover of the suburban could stand. Anyway... I'll try and post more process pics... A lot of projects in the works. ARTISTS are important, maybe one of the MOST important eliments of humanity and even the evolution of our society... Today, it is important that ALL ARTISTS are as active as they can be. We see things differently. We can create the world we want.
