Spoilers for Bridgerton 3x08 under the cut
Tumblr media
THIS IS BETTER THAN ANYTHING I THOUGHT WOULD HAPPEN. MY FRIEND AND I HAD A FEELING THAT WE'D SEE MICHAEL, BUT MICHAELA??????? I LOVE HER SO MUCH.
SHE SAID JUST HER NAME AND FRAN WAS HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE. I CAN'T WAIT FOR HER STRUGGLE WITH HER FEELINGS, BOTH BEING BI AND BEING IN LOVE WITH HER HUSBAND'S COUSIN.

Am I the only one in the fandom who developed complete indifference to Michaela after a few minutes of adjusting to the idea, even though she loved Francesca and thinks her book is one of the best in the series?
Like, okay, I'll just ship a book! Francesca with Michael and a show! Francesca and Michaela, their personalities are quite different anyway.
The only thing that would bother me would be people claiming that she didn't love John romantically (some bisexuals are sexually attracted to only one gender and that's fine!) and the lack of Franchel fic, and I'm already bothered by how it cuts the fandom in half. Let me enjoy Francesca's content without being exposed to your arguments

We are not trivializing queerness.
To ship two non-canon characters is not inherently disrespectful of a canon ship. To reimagine a canonically straight character as queer is not disrespectful. Fandom and fanfiction exists for a reason, and I am exhausted with people attempting to police it. Here's a thought: how about we live and let live?
It doesn't "pain" me to see eight straight couples in Bridgerton- it bores me. I quite frankly won't give too much of a damn if that is what it ends up being in the show as well- I'll just be less entertained, and continue to imagine all the other possibilities and maybe write them if I feel particularly inspired.
And here's the thing: the people shipping canon ships "longer than I've been on earth" don't need to give a damn about who I ship either!
"If you don't respect the other ships then don't expect them to respect yours." What is "respecting" a ship, I ask? Does it mean suppressing your imagination, your views, and your words online, so that other people don't feel triggered by queerness?
(And don't bother equating this with how some people feel about the Siena x Anthony ship. That's not the same and you know it- besides, even if we do ship Santhony, why should Kathony shippers give a damn?).
That is not how fandom works.
I'm an equal opportunity shipper. I enjoy reading multiple pairings with the same characters and as long as it's well written, I'm honestly down to read anything. And I have never torn down others for who they ship if they do ship exclusively canon couples- in fact, it's these other people who have repeatedly come into my inbox on Tumblr and attempted to police my thoughts and views on couples such as Eloise and Marina, Siena and Anthony, potential queerness in Bridgerton, and racism in Bridgerton.
Whether my ship is "portrayed justly" should not hinge on how other ships "deserve" to be portrayed. Again, live and let live. Let me ship in peace, and I won't give a shit about who you ship.
As for the divergence from canon not being possible where it concerns potentially queer main couples, I don't think it's out of the question. It is very much possible based on the radical changes the Bridgerton writers have already created within the universe. But whether it happens or not is a different story, and honestly, I won't be too cut up if the characters end up with exactly who they do in the Bridgerton book series. Again, I'll just be mildly less entertained. Besides, the possibility of otherwise will always exist in our minds, fueled by our imagination, our loves, and real history because queer people exist and have always existed.
And sure, we can call for more shows focused on queer characters, maybe even more queer historical romances, but it is not an either/or situation here: We can also reimagine canon straight characters as queer, and perhaps even hope for it where a show like Bridgerton is concerned, because that's what fandom is for.
We are not trivializing queerness. You are, in fact the ones erasing it, delegitimizing it, and dehumanizing it within the fandom space under the guise of "adhering to canon".

It’s been a while and I haven’t seen anyone talking about the fact that officially we are getting a third and fourth season of Bridgerton
Tumblr media
So what I’m saying is, if Netflix follows the story according to the books, we will get:
 Polin canon
Probably (hopefully!) bits of Colin travels
The Whole Drama of ‘Pen is Lady Whistledown and I’ll marry her’ from Colin and how it all went down in The London Society™ wich was omitted in the books, I mean the consecuences of your own actions, am I right?
Colin telling Lady Featherington he wants to marry Penelope
More of Lady Danbury
Cressida Cowper marrying a guy and then being widow with no money aka Karma for being a bitch
Hyacinth and Gregory growing up and teasing each other
The MASQUERADE BALL from An Offer from a Gentleman
Also Benedict and Sophie
Sophie working for the Bridgertons
The whole Araminta conflict in jail and POSY!?!?
Posy moving with the Bridgertons
More of Voilet Bridgerton
Anthony & Kate as parents
It would be nice if Netflix showed what happens with Violet during the Masquerade Ball where Sophie & Benedict meet for the first time (hello, Violet in Bloom?)
Probably we will see Eloise running away at the end to meet Sir Phillip or at least (I hope) we’ll see their friendship develop through the letters?
Maybe, maybe! Netflix will explain what happens to Marina meanwhile (I’m hoping they follow up to her story but it’s not likely right?)
Hopefully a bit of Franchesca & John or at least their wedding or something?
And Franchesca & Michael as their story tecnically begins in the Fourth book before Michael goes to India according to the timeline if I’m not mistaken

More Bridgerton stuff
I know I’ve talked about this a lot, but let me tell you, it’s going to continue. I’ve been thinking about things and I need a place to discuss them.
Possible spoilers for future seasons:
Let’s talk about Marina, Phillip, and Eloise and how this is all gonna work out.  - In the show, Marina is heavily involved with Colin, who had no interaction with her in the books. She is related to the Bridgertons and not the Featheringtons and she dies before Eloise ever meets Philip Crane.  - I think we’ll still see Marina’s life, even if sporadically in future seasons to lead up to her eventual death. Because I think she has to die in order for Eloise to eventually end up with Phillip. But how will this impact Penelope x Colin? Because at the end of the season, it appeared that Pen and Marina were friends again. And Colin was heartbroken by what Marina did. How will it impact him? - and the Twins, I assume that the baby she’s pregnant with will be the twins. That would make them Philips niece and nephew and wouldn’t that technically put Oliver in line to inherit and not Philip. I have so many questions.  - Also, no idea why, but when I was reading this book, it reminded me of beauty and the beast, and I’m not sure why. But I did picture Jason Momoa as Philip the entire time, so when the dude showed up to see Marina and he was Philip I was like “um...who is this?” I don’t know. Just thought I should share this bit.  Benedict and Sophie - Are they going to introduce her this season or wait until Benedict’s season? - Also, I saw this posted earlier, but if we don’t get a scene of Benedict coming up out of the lake like a lusty Mr. Darcy, what’s the point of the season? Kate - We better get that venom sucking scene - Also, I want the scene in the library where he’s comforting her during her breakdown due to the storm. I need that Anthony. I love the charming rogue, but I need the soft bitch to come out! - I haven’t decided who I think should play Kate, but I wouldn’t be offended if it was Emilia Clarke. I just want her involved!!! Franchesca and Michael  - If Michael isn’t Richard Madden, I’m rioting. And show her with John so that the impact of his death is actual felt. I need all the feels. Swap into all the characters love lives, but make me invested by giving me the things from the books. - And if we don’t get this man telling her that he wants her to sit on his face... why even adapt it from the page to screen. We need that cottage scene and we need it to be steeeaaaaamy! Colin  and Penelope - I was re-reading this book again last night (yeah, that’s 4 times in a month - what’s your point) and I really look forward to her interactions with Lady Danbury as I love that woman from the bottom of my soul. And I love the admiration she has for Penelope.  - Her asking him to kiss her for the first time... and the carriage after he discovers her secret... I need all of it. And where he gets super frustrated with her mother when he’s trying to ask for Penelope’s hand and then Colin telling the mamas that they need to move the wedding up... I mean, give me my protective adoring boy.  - One thing from their love scene that I did like is that he knows what Penelope’s insecurities about her looks are, and his solution to this is to one day make love to her in front of a mirror to show her how wrong she is. Like, I love a man with a plan.

Ahhh fuck it! This was what I was talking about yesterday. It’s some good fucking writing, just saying
“I’ll marry you,” Arya breathed as Gendry began to turn. He stopped abruptly, daring to daring his gaze back in her direction.
“What?” He said in disbelief. He surely didn’t ask her to marry him; he would’ve remembered that. So why is she proclaiming such a thing? It’s not as if he opposed, gods no, but he had always assumed she would never agree to such a thing, considering her stance on the action of marriage.
He noticed how she shifted her feet in nervousness and how her cheeks were tinged a deep shade of red. He couldn’t remember Arya Stark ever nervous, so she must be speaking truth.
“I’ll marry you.” She said once more, this time with a little more confidence. “It’s really the only solution, you see. I cannot bear the thought of never seeing Barra again. Every time I think of it, my heart clenches. And…”
She took a long breath, trying to gather their thoughts before confessing something she had only come to realize as she packed her belongings to leave. “If I am being completely honest, I cannot endure another tasteless season. Of course, I have the rest of the year to convince my mother otherwise, but I know that once summer returns, I’ll be dragged back to King’s Landing to mingle with stuffy aristocrats in hopes of finding a suitable match. I cannot do it!”
“But…why me?” Gendry asked before she continued.
Arya looked at him. Really looked at him. And it sent a shiver down Gendry’s spine. He watched as her eyes took him, every last inch. She studied him, as if trying to formulate a worthy enough answer to his question.
“Why not Lord Dayne?” Her eyes cut at the question and they narrowed.
“Ned Dayne,” she scoffed. “Was only after me for my money. He liked my sizable dowery and what my family name had to offer. Besides…that was infatuation. He didn’t—he couldn’t make me feel what I felt when I was with you. I wasn’t sure, not until the…carriage,” she blushed at the memory. “Yet, even then, I was trying to convince myself otherwise. It wasn’t until I knew I had to say goodbye to not only Barra, but to you as well, I knew that I couldn’t. I had averted love for the sole purpose that I would never find it, but knowing you…getting to know you…I was proved wrong.”
Gendry was frozen in place. He was absolutely stoic, save for the look of bewilderment upon his face. He had sorted his feelings for her the night after their encounter in the carriage, but knew that he could never act upon them again. He savored the memory, letting it ingrain itself upon his brain, for he knew that would be the first and the last time he could—would touch her in that manner.
Of course he tickled the thought of proposing; in fact he nearly ran to her aunt’s manor that night to just that, but he knew her feelings about the act. He knew she craved a freedom that not many women were granted, and he knew that the more she inched to an to status of that of a spinster, that she would have that freedom and be even more unobtainable.
“Ge—Gendry?” His eyes snapped to her face. She was flushed, no doubt from her proclamation, and there was a slight look of concern in her grey eyes. She had given her heart to him and he had said nothing. He could only imagine what was running through her head. So he did the most logical thing he could think of.
He crossed the room with lightning speed, making his way to her.
Before Arya had time to think, his lips were upon hers, ravishing them whole. He could taste the strawberries she had eaten and the Earl Grey tea she had with her aunt. He could smell the lavender spray she claimed to not use and the subtle scent of smoke when her aunt had a craving for a drag.
Everything about this woman was intoxicating.
It didn’t take long for Arya to ease into the kiss, letting his lips devour hers in insatiable hunger. She had dreamt of his lips. Ever since they first touched her skin in the carriage. She had craved to feel them again, to have them pepper kisses along her neck. And how she loved his taste. Just the saltiness they exuded made her weak at the knees.
Why had she been so ambivalent about loving this man!? Why did she elude love for as long as she had? Was it just so she could be with him? That he was the one she was meant to be with? Whatever the case may be, she was elated to finally have what her other siblings had. It wasn’t as if she was seeking to be loved, but she’d be lying if she said she didn’t have some jealousy towards her siblings’ successes at finding a match.
There were times in Arya’s life where she had wondered if there was something wrong with her. Sure, she was a bit outspoken; more so than any other ladies prancing about within the season, but she didn’t find that to be a reason to be so unapproachable. And perhaps her distaste for the social season was etched upon her face, but it only meant men would have to try harder to convince her otherwise.
How had Gendry succeeded when so many other’s had failed?
“I’ll marry you,” he breathed as he departed her lips for air. “I’ll marry if it’s the last thing I do.”
“Tell me.” She said as she savored the kisses he peppered along her jaw. “Tell me why.”
He pulled back, leaving her craving for his warmth. She tried to bring him back to her, but he grabbed her hands and pushed them to the side. He then took her face between his hands, caressing it ever so gently.
“Because I see you.” He smiled. “I see you.”
“I see that you’re adventurous. I see that you’re smart. I see that you’re a righteous pain in the arse.” He said sarcastically, and Arya couldn’t help but laugh. “But I also see your love. I see how you love. I see your protectiveness and I see how you will do anything to keep the ones you love safe. I know that I cannot constraint you, nor will I and I know that you’ll never be a ‘proper lady,’ whatever that means; but I don’t want that. I want Arya Stark, the woman that I love.”

Okay so that artbreeder thing is prett sick! I did some and here are my take on Arya, Gendry, Dany, and Jon. I didn’t really like how Arya turned out, I had her prefect then I fudged it up somehow, but she still looks okay.

Eloise, the patron of scholars, is known for her disdain for love and marriage. There is Rumor that she has taken an oath of virginity, but Eloise has certainly never done such nonsense - she has lovers, thank you very much. She corresponds with many scholars around the world about their research topics, and one day, when she gets tired of the world of gods, she decides to randomly choose one of her pen pals and live with him for a while. None of them have a reason to object, do they? She appears on the doorstep of Philip Crane, a talented botanist full of passion for learning, with whom she has corresponded since his studies at Cambridge. But in none of their letters did he mention that he got married, or had twins, or was widowed. But Eloise stays, because it's still a change from the world of the gods, and Philip's twins are quite bright and will be excellent scholars in the future, and Philip himself… Suddenly, Eloise begins to understand why her other brothers (well, not including Anthony) talk so much about love…
John and Michael are the two young princes of a small, rainy island called Kilmartin, which is known for its music. The islanders have always told stories of gods and monsters, but as befits an island of musicians, most of their stories revolved around the elusive patroness of music, Francesca, who is featured in so many artworks on the island, with her long chestnut hair, beautiful blue eyes and mysterious smile. Michael never thought they'd actually meet her, and he certainly didn't expect her and John to fall in love with each other. When John died unexpectedly, Francesca's grief washed over the island with songs full of pain and grief for months, but only after Michael begged her to return his cousin and best friend for life, not understanding that even powerful beings like her could not do such a thing, she returned to the world of gods. After four years with no sign of her, Michael, now King of Kilmartin in place of John, had already given up hope of seeing her again. But one day as he was wandering in the fields, he heard music, and there she was, sitting on the side of a hill, just as the first day he had seen her, playing a sweet tune to John who looked at her adoringly.
