I really do want to start posting here again- if I do, I might permanently close divider requests and just post them if I have the time, because it was kind of overwhelming that those were all that was ever being requested after I started (no fault of anyone who requested, just overwhelming to me personally)
I also no longer have the money for the premium version of the app I used to make moodboards (premium removes the app watermark and gives me more options) so either I’d have to simplify it down until I can pay for it again, or just not make stuff until then

I've seen many adults are against Disney remaking their animated films & IDK, I just feel like they're gatekeeping TBH. Or maybe it's just me who feels this way...??
Because the way I see it, these live-action remakes are Disney's way of providing the newer generations the same magic & wonder many Millennials felt when they were kids, who grew up during the 1980s-1990s, even if the results are maybe subpar. I mean, let's face it, I'm sure we can all agree that the Renaissance Era was the BEST decade for Disney animated films.
Because Disney films released after that time ("The Emperor's New Groove", "Atlantis: The Lost Empire", "Brother Bear", "Treasure Planet", etc.) were mostly just "meh" & forgettable, with the exception of "Lilo and Stitch". And only reason these films are rediscovered is because of the internet.
So when I see adults voicing their opinions that Disney shouldn't remaking their animated films, I feel like they're trying to keep the Renaissance magic exclusively for themselves. Like they're indirectly saying the new generations don't deserve to feel the same magic & wonder as them.
Because here's the thing: people who were born in the 2000s & above (Gen Zs & Gen Alphas) don't (and they can never will) have the luxury & privilege of growing up DURING the Renaissance Era like Millennials do, because by the time they were born, the Renaissance Era was already over. Of course, Disney released "Frozen" in 2013, but that's another story.
And yes, they may have access to the Renaissance films in Disney+ or physical copies of the DVDs, VCDs, cassette tapes, etc, but it's just not the same as growing up with Disney marketing these films, seeing merch of these films everywhere & seeing them on the big silver screen, you know...??
On another note, people complaining about Disney remakes seem to forget that not all Disney animated films are hailed as timeless classics. Some of them faded into obscurity over time & eventually, they're forgotten.
I mean, would the general public still remember "The Black Cauldron"? Or "The Rescuers"? Or "Dinosaur"?

please feel free to ignore this if ur sick of the watcher subject. will not be offended or unhappy if u do ❤️
re: the steven thing. on a whole, i don’t mind branching out to try new things. HOWEVER i watch Watcher content specifically for supernatural ghost hunts/scary stories/historical events/etc. if i wanted to watch expensive food/travel stuff, i would be watching other amazing creators out there (mikey chen for food, kara & nate for travel, etc).
i think that’s why ppl have been focusing so much on the expensiveness of stevens show: if they wanted a bigger budget for what they’re known for (what i listed above) that’s one thing and would be more understandable. but something that isn’t anywhere close to the genres/subjects they built their channel off of is not something that people will want to pay for.
Oh yeah for sure I'm not saying people shouldn't focus on his show at all! That was part of my point in the notes
Announcing a show where you try insanely expensive food that costs more than a lot of people's paychecks is such a bad look and I think people are ignoring that it's why he's being targeted. People are plugging their ears just because they like him and it's just as silly as people defending Shane and Ryan for the same reason in my opinion
