10 shocking stories the media buried today.
The Vigilant Fox
Dec 18, 2024
10 - Congress’s new spending bill TURBOCHARGES Covid-like powers for future pandemics.
This includes mask mandates, vaccine passports, expanded emergency powers, gain-of-function research, and even liability shields for mRNA vaccine makers.
This news comes as Governor Gavin Newsom declares a “bird flu emergency” in California.
Attorney Tom Renz reported on X, “Congressional spending bill is a big pharma gift extending and expanding COVID emergency powers to other pandemics and even reiterating mRNA vaccine immunity!”
9 - EX-CDC Director Calls on Congress to END The Liability Shield for Vaccine Makers
“These companies have to be able to be held liable for their products like any other company,” said former CDC Director Robert Redfield as he called on Congress to repeal the 1986 Vaccine Injury Act.
Repealing the act would strip pharmaceutical companies of their liability shield, forcing them to be accountable for injuries caused by their products. While he acknowledged the law was “well-intended” when enacted under Reagan, Redfield stated bluntly that it “doesn’t work.”
Redfield also criticized the overselling of COVID vaccines, claiming their safety and efficacy were exaggerated to compel public compliance. “The vaccines clearly were oversold,” he said, adding that they never should have been mandated, as many lost their jobs and livelihoods over them.
Senator Ron Johnson described the situation as even more “sinister” than what Dr. Redfield described, accusing health agencies of sabotaging early treatments like hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin to protect Pfizer and Moderna’s profits.
“You can’t get an emergency use authorization on a vaccine” if an effective therapy already exists, Johnson explained, claiming this strategy cleared the path for the COVID jabs while crushing potentially life-saving treatments.
“That [the suppression of early treatment] paved the way for the emergency use authorization for the vaccines. And then it was full speed ahead,” Johnson lamented.
8 - Michael Cohen Turns Heads on CNN: Trump Is RIGHT About Media Lies
In a jaw-dropping moment on CNN, Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney turned critic, admitted what Trump supporters have been saying for years: the legacy media is riddled with sloppy, agenda-driven journalism.
This conversation was a reaction to the recent news that President-elect Donald Trump filed a defamation lawsuit against ABC News, resulting in a $15 million settlement. The lawsuit stemmed from anchor George Stephanopoulos’s inaccurate on-air assertion that Trump had been found civilly liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll.
Cohen, who famously flipped on Trump, didn’t hold back as he detailed a handful of the “hundred” lies the media spread about him during his time as a Trump ally.
“Look, I was the recipient of more than 100 lies, and I understand what Trump is doing in terms of changing the way defamation cases are brought in this country.
“You may remember the allegations. I was in Prague—never been to Prague. I was in Czechoslovakia. I paid $10 million to Kompromatz. I have a house next to Putin in Sochi. None of this is true.
“On top of that, there was another one that came out as an example where I allegedly was paid 400,000 by Poroshenko to create a meeting between him and Donald Trump during the presidency. That is also not true.”
Cohen’s comments back up Trump’s long-standing claim that the media is packed with fake news aimed at smearing him and his allies.
Delivering a final blow, Cohen said, “I think that media has to do their job. They need to get the facts right.”
7 - Aaron Rodgers drops a brutal PSA on ESPN to all his haters.
“Say whatever the f*** you want about me but before you do … state your vax status … because then when you say things about me people can be like, ‘Oh you are captured by the multi-billion dollar psyop and you’re still upset about it.’”
Credit: https://x.com/TheChiefNerd/status/1869357594571358629
6 - Joe Biden Targets Pelosi and Coup Leaders in Stunning Act of Revenge
With Nancy Pelosi stuck in the hospital recovering from a broken hip, Biden is floating the idea of banning members of Congress from trading stocks while in office.
He stated, “I think we should be changing the law that we have to abide by at the federal level—that nobody, nobody in the Congress should be able to make money in the stock market while they’re in the Congress.”
However, Fox News host Jesse Watters isn’t buying Biden’s timing, saying that this isn’t about fighting corruption but “getting retribution.” He reported.
“Biden didn’t want to ban Congress from insider trading during his entire 50-year career in D.C., but a month before he leaves, he gives Nancy a little gift. This isn’t about stopping corruption. It’s about getting retribution.”
“So if Nancy wants to get rich in the House, she might have to do it the old-fashioned way, peddling influence like the Big Guy.”

#5 - BUSTED: ‘The View’ Co-Host May Face Criminal Investigation
#4 - Thomas Massie rips Speaker Mike Johnson as he gets another prediction right.
He writes, “People call me "NostraThomas" for accurately predicting @SpeakerJohnson would use the Christmas recess to force a massive spending bill through Congress. After claiming he would not, Johnson is embracing a D.C. tradition that's nearly as old as decorating Christmas trees.”
#3 - More Bad News for MSNBC as They Hemorrhage Viewers and Are Now Losing to NewsNation
Already dealing with sustained post-election ratings woes, MSNBC witnessed yet another embarrassment over the weekend when it finished behind the plucky TV startup NewsNation in the key advertising demographic of adults aged 25-54.
According to Nielsen Media Research, the liberal cable news network averaged just 17,000 viewers in the key demo on Saturday between the hours of noon and 7 p.m. ET. In comparison, NewsNation’s programming attracted an audience of 23,000 in the 25-54 demographic in that same time period.

#2 - Peter Hotez blames “organized” anti-vaxxers for causing 200,000 American deaths by convincing people COVID shots weren’t safe.
“My estimate is 200,000 Americans needlessly perished because they refused the COVID vaccines. They were victims of this.”
“I still pin most of the blame on an organized anti-vaccine movement that targeted people, that had convinced them that the COVID vaccine wasn’t safe… But most of the blame still goes to this organized anti-vaccine movement.”
Just a reminder: Hotez turned down a $2.6 million offer to debate RFK Jr. on vaccine science, with the money going to the charity of his choice.
Instead of engaging in scientific debate, he preemptively BLOCKS anyone he disagrees with.
#1 - The Omnibus bill may be pulled off the House floor due to pressure from @elonmusk, per Fox News.
"A post on 𝕏 by Elon Musk sent shockwaves through the Capitol….One source said the bill is now bleeding support from the GOP."

Storia Di Musica #340 - INXS, Kick, 1987
I never thought you were a fool
But darling, look at you
You gotta stand up straight, carry your own weight
These tears are going nowhere, baby

Good Omens Aziraphale's Sad Bastard Breakup Playlist
After the breakup, Aziraphale has a new job in heaven, having taken Gabriel’s vacant position. Aziraphale is haunted by sad music reminding him of his time with Crowley. The songs are dramatic, tragic, melancholic, angry, wistful, romantic, and sentimental. How does he listen to music at his new job in the head office? Are material objects allowed? Does he keep a secret stash of tea, cake, and records and a phonograph player in his office? Does he have a celestial radio that can tune in Earth radio stations? Does he sneak off to Earth to hang out in record shops and bookstores? Or more dramatically and emotionally torturously, does he remember every note, every nuance, every feeling, of every song and replay them in his mind? He's stuffing his face with angel food cake and tea while crying and listening to sad bastard songs and hiding from Michael and the Metatron.
See note after list on song selection process.
Songs include:
“Lacrimosa” – Mozart, Requiem in D Minor, Vienna Mozart Orchestra
“Commendatore” – Mozart, Don Giovanni, Amadeus film soundtrack
“Ja, tot katoramu vnimala” – Rubenstein, The Demon, Nicolai Ghiaurov
“D’amour l’ardente flemme” – Berlioz, The Damnation of Faust, Maria Callas
“Liebestod” – Wagner, Tristan and Isolde, Waltraud Meier
“Ach ich fuhls” – Mozart, The Magic Flute, Gundula Janowitz
“Thy hand, Belinda … When I am laid in earth” – Purcell, Dido and Aeneas, Janet Baker
“E lucevan la stelle” – Puccini, Tosca, Placido Domingo
“Celeste Aidia” – Verdi, Aida, Mario Lanza
“Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen” Mahler, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau
“Der Wanderer” – Schubert, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau
“Love is a Plaintive Song” – Gilbert and Sullivan, Patience, D’Oyly Carte Opera Company
“I am a Courtier Grave and Serious” – Gilbert and Sullivan, The Gondoliers, D’Oyly Carte Opera Company
“The Gentleman is a Dope” – Rodgers and Hammerstein, Allegro, Blossom Dearie
“A Hymn to Him” – Lerner and Lowe, My Fair Lady, Rex Harrison
“Could I Leave You?” – Sondheim, Follies, Alexis Smith
“We Do Not Belong Together” – Sondheim, Sunday in the Park with George, Bernadette Peters and Mandy Patinkin
“On My Own” – Schonberg, Les Misérables, Frances Ruffelle
“As Long as He Needs Me” – Bert, Oliver, Judy Garland
“Stranger in Paradise” – Wright and Forest, Kismet, Richard Kiley and Doretta Morrow
“A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square” – Sherwin and Maschwitz, Vera Lynn
“Night and Day” – Porter, The Gay Divorcee, Ella Fitzgerald
“I’ve Got You Under My Skin” – Porter, Born to Dance, Shirley Bassey
“Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered” – Rodgers and Heart, Pal Joey, Sarah Vaughan
“They Can’t Take That Away From Me” – Gershwin, Shall We Dance, Fred Astaire
“Mon Deu” – Dumont and Vaucaire, Edith Piaf
“Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien” – Dumont and Vaucaire, Edith Piaf
P.S.: Aziraphale likes Les Mis because it reminds him of that time Crowley rescued him from the Bastille. Don't tell anyone. It's a big secret.
P.P.S.: “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered” reminds him of the time he and Crowley got drunk in the backroom at the bookshop the day the anti-Christ was delivered to Earth. Basically, this song reminds him of every time they went out for drinks or stayed in and drank.
P.P.P.S.: “I am a Courtier Grave and Serious” was the song Aziraphale planned to play when trying to tempt Crowley into learning the gavotte. It reminds him of the ball in the bookstore when he finally danced with Crowley.
P.P.P.P.S.: “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien” is as close as Aziraphale can get to telling the world and Crowley to eff off. He has no more effs to give. Or at least he’s trying to convince himself he no longer gives a f***. He’s going off to his new job at the head office and Do Good.
Note on song selection:
I selected songs that thematically fit with the relationship between Aziraphale and Crowley. I think the songs tell a story of Aziraphale’s struggle to reconcile his conflicted motivations. They reflect Aziraphale’s fears and desires. He fears being hauled off to hell for disobedience. He fears Crowley’s death and being alone in the world. He desires to be emotionally intimate with Crowley. (Dare he risk physical intimacy with Crowley?) He feels self-righteously indignant, but he’s soft and squishy and weepy and misses his best friend.
I don’t have much knowledge of opera or musical theater, but I have some experience with choir and solo performance. I did a lot of research into opera, art songs, musicals, showtunes, and standards to create a playlist on YouTube. Selections were based on availability, popularity, and sound quality. My big question was whether or not Aziraphale is a strict originalist or if he likes different versions of songs. In some places, I chose newer versions over original versions due to the sound quality of the recordings. I tried to keep selections accessible to a wide audience with varying degrees of musical knowledge. You may not like my choices, so your mileage may vary. You can make your own playlist.
You can listen to it on YouTube.

What Fandoms I Write For & Which Characters
It’s easier for me to write for characters I like versus ones I do not. It is also easier for me to write romantic stories for characters I personally fancy/like.
If the character that you want isn’t there, I’m not doing a certain type of request for them, etc. You can still ask, but please be nice about it if I say I won’t write it.
Characters that are minors/under 18 will NOT be shipped with readers who are over the age of 18. If a character ages throughout (example: Harry Potter) specify which age you want that character. Honestly please, please, PLEASE specify in general!

Darren Criss Says MAYBE HAPPY ENDING Will Be 'A Spectacle and A Half'
Maybe Happy Ending will begin previews on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 and open on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the Belasco Theatre.
Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winner Darren Criss will return to the stage alongside Helen J Shen in the Broadway premiere of the new musical Maybe Happy Ending. According to the Emmy-winning star, the "wildly original"new musical promises to be "a spectacle and a half.
Recently, Darren stopped by Z100's Morning Zoo in support of the upcoming Elsie Fest, and took a minute to discuss his latest Broadway venture.
"I think people think this is going to be a small, cute little show about robots in the future." Darren said, "This is a balls-to-the-wall spectacle in the way that in the 80s, we had Miss Saigon and The Phantom of the Opera-- these huge, theatrical spectacles that like, when you went to the theatre it was like, 'Whoa, how did they do that?'"
Host E;lvis Duran asked the star if audiences could expect anything akin to the iconic Phantom chandelier as part of the production. Darren replied, "I think there will be something like a chandelier that will be the new version of, 'Oh my God, that's the big thing to see on Broadway.'"
The show features music by Will Aronson, lyrics by Hue Park and book by both Aronson and Park. Direction is by Tony Award-winner Michael Arden. Maybe Happy Ending will also feature Dez Duron who makes his Broadway debut along with Shen.

Inside a one-room apartment in the heart of Seoul, Oliver (Criss) lives a happily quiet life listening to jazz records and caring for his favorite plant. But what else is there to do when you’re a Helperbot 3, a robot that has long been retired and considered obsolete? When his fellow Helperbot neighbor Claire (Shen) asks to borrow his charger, what starts as an awkward encounter leads to a unique friendship, a surprising adventure, and maybe even...love? Winner of the Richard Rodgers Award, Maybe Happy Ending is the offbeat and captivating story of two outcasts near the end of their warranty who discover that even robots can be swept off their feet. Helmed by visionary director and Tony Award winner Michael Arden (Parade, Once on This Island), with a dazzling scenic design by Dane Laffrey (A Christmas Carol) and book, music, and lyrics by the internationally acclaimed duo Will Aronson and Hue Park, Maybe Happy Ending is a fresh, original musical about the small things that make any life worth living.

2017 Napa Valley A Cappella Extravaganza — VoicePlay live performances
Tumblr media
VoicePlay on stage in Napa — photo by Haley Olson
Three years after their previous appearance, VoicePlay returned to northern California as the professional headliners for the annual high school and collegiate vocal festival in Yountville.
.
Tumblr media
J.None was excited to hit the road with the guys after performing with them at Disney World for the previous two months.
.

When you're singing for other a cappella singers, it's hard to go wrong with a little musical theater. VoicePlay has plenty of Broadway material in their repertoire, and this was the most recent addition at the time.
Details:
title: Seasons of Love
original performers: cast of Rent (1996)
written by: Jonathan Larson
arranged by: VoicePlay & AJ Rafael
performance date: 28 January 2017
My favorite bits:
J.None's smooth timbre on the opening lines
the way they seamlessly pass the lead vocals around (But why doesn't Layne get a turn? 😞)
that momentary silence before they start the first chorus
when the rhythm section really kicks in 🥁🎸
Earl's crystal clear high tone on the second verse
that jazzy harmonized riff from Eli, J, and Earl
the layers of sound in the final chorus
such a lovely ending chord
Trivia:
As Geoff mentions in the intro, the guys had recorded this song as a collaboration with AJ Rafael in October, and the video premiered on his YouTube channel a couple weeks before this performance.
.
youtube
VoicePlay refuse to be confined to any one genre of music. They've tackled everything from barbershop to hard rock, country to sea shanties, pop ballads to orchestral pieces. So why not revisit the rap hits of their youth?
Details:
title: Aca Top 10 – Old School Rap
original songs / performers: "La-Di-Da-Di" by Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh; [0:16] "Going Back to Cali" by LL Cool J; [0:32] "Push It" by Salt-n-Pepa; [0:56] "Parents Just Don’t Understand" by DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince; [1:09] "Bust A Move" by Young MC; [1:32] "It's Tricky" by Run-DMC; [1:49] "Just A Friend" by Biz Markie; [2:12] "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice; [2:21] "The Humpty Dance" by Digital Underground; [2:44] "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugarhill Gang; [3:10] "Walk This Way" by Run-DMC & Aerosmith
written by: "La-Di-Da-Di" by Douglas "Doug E. Fresh" Davis & Richard "Slick Rick" Walters; "Going Back to Cali" by Rick Rubin & James "LL Cool J" Smith; "Push It" by Hurby "Luv Bug" Azor & Ray Davies; "Parents Just Don’t Understand" by Pete Harris, Will "Fresh Prince" Smith, Jeffrey "DJ Jazzy Jeff" Townes; "Bust A Move" by Marvin "Young MC" Young, Matt Dike, & Michael Ross; "It's Tricky" by Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, Doug Fieger, & Berton Averre; "Just A Friend" by Marcel "Biz Markie" Hall; "Ice Ice Baby" by Robert "Vanilla Ice" Van Winkle, Mario Johnson, Queen, & David Bowie; "The Humpty Dance" by Earl Humphrey, Gregory "Shock G" Jacobs, & George Clinton; "Rapper's Delight" by Bernard Edwards, Nile Rodgers, Sylvia Robinson, Henry "Big Bank Hank" Jackson, Michael "Wonder Mike" Wright, Guy "Master Gee" O'Brien, Curtis "Grandmaster Caz" Brown, & William Hankshaw; "Walk This Way" by Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, Steven Tyler, & Joe Perry
arranged by: Geoff Castellucci
performance date: 28 January 2017
My favorite bits:
Layne kicking things off with some old school beatboxing
Earl recreating the breathy part in "Push It"
Eli handling the scratching in the back during "Parents"
the middle three busting some lowkey moves as the lyrics instruct them to do
everybody bouncing to the beat during "Tricky"
Geoff continuing the "Ice Ice Baby" bass line under "The Humpty Dance" after the other guys leave him hanging
Eli showing off some slides in "Rapper's Delight"
J's little wave in response to the "hello" in the lyrics
the record skip effect at the end of "Walk This Way"
Trivia:
The guys originally recorded this countdown live in the studio, where they could do as many takes as they wanted. It's even more impressive seeing them perform it in front of an audience.
.
youtube
This video is missing the very beginning because the fan who recorded it got over-excited about them actually performing the song live. But how could they possibly resist singing the theme to one of the most beloved TV shows set in San Francisco when they were just north the city itself?
Details:
title: Everywhere You Look
original performers: Carly Rae Jepsen & Butch Walker for Fuller House (2016)
written by: Jesse Frederick, Bennett Salvay, & Jeff Franklin for Full House (1987)
arranged by: Layne Stein
performance date: 28 January 2017
My favorite bits:
the bouncy descending bass line leading into the chorus
Eli and J grooving along to their own harmonies
Earl's scooping crescendo as a transition into the second verse
the call and response of ♫ "never go away" ♫ "like the Olsen twins" ♫ 👭
that quick crisp diction of the ♫ "how do you know… " ♫ section
hearing a few audience members shout "Hey!" in time with the guys
that big coordinated descending riff at the end
Trivia:
This song was the second entry in VoicePlay's PartWork series, performed entirely by multiple versions of Earl and Layne.
.

.
Before they flew out of San Francisco the next day, J.None took a side trip to meet up with a friend, see a bit of the city, and get some fresh air.

Troppa, troppa, troppa
Quindi continuiamo così
E andiamo avanti, avanti, avanti
