Olaf: Ah, these... Hehe... Memories from my youth... I believe we were around 10 years old... We were quite foolish during those joyful days... Our parents and grandparents were still around... And... *sniff* I miss my brother deeply... I understand that I can never bring him back, but... It breaks my heart to have lost him... *sighs* Anyway, I need to take a moment to breathe and compose myself...

The International Transpersonal Association, founded in 1978 by Stanislav Grof, Christina Grof, and Michael Murphy, has been instrumental in organizing international transpersonal conferences. One was held in Prague, Czechoslovakia, from June 20-25, 1992, themed "Science, Spirituality, and the Global Crisis: Toward a World with a Future". The choice of Prague as the venue was symbolic, representing the transformation occurring in Eastern Europe following the fall of communism. The city, described as "poised at the center of European crisis and promise," served as a metaphor for the global changes and shifts in human psychology that the conference aimed to address. Peter Bergmann compiled 12 interviews by Terence McKenna with various people from the 1992 conference.

The 2024 Elgin Award nominees are in, with 11 chapbooks and 32 full-length collections of speculative poems nominated by the 400+ members of the international Science Fiction and Fantasy Poetry Association (est. 1978). These are eligible works that were published in 2022 and 2023.
Speculative poetry is typically considered verse with some element of speculation in the narrow sense—usually science fiction, fantasy, or horror, though some include straight science. SFPA’s founder, Suzette Haden Elgin, shared her thoughts on sf poetry in the aptly titled “About Science Fiction Poetry.”
A big thanks goes to this year’s chair, Felicia Martinez, for coordinating all of these candidates, who emerged from 23 presses across the globe. This will be the eleventh year these awards have been conferred, and the final winners will be announced in the fall.

Rufen Sie uns gerne an.
