I can't recall any situation where I would make up a word. Unless the words woeftje and miauwtje count, but it was an inside joke and it's been invented before.

I live in the main city of my province, so there are almost all kinds of shops there. And restaurants from the whole world.

Long time ago, but tomorrow I'm going shopping anyway because why not. Last time it was a pair of black canvas sneakers with some cool print.

Does any phobia really make sense? It's all in our heads, but it can ruin a life anyway. I wouldn't judge people's phobias as freaky, it's offensive.

No. I really have more important things to think about.

Why would it scare me? Do you think I've never seen a thunderstorm?

Een beetje dom

Als je een ouder dier in huis krijgt moet je altijd maar afwachten in hoeverre de opvoeding en socialisering is gelukt bij vorige eigenaren. Ze hebben nu eenmaal geen gebruiksaanwijzing op de rug vastgepind meegekregen. Bij onze 8 jarige kat Garfield valt dit alleszins mee: Hij is zindelijk tot in het extreme, klauwt niet, klimt niet, sloopt niet, en doet nooit iets ongevraagd. Als hij niet zeker is of zijn gedrag getolereerd wordt in dit huishouden, doet hij het voor je neus, en wacht je reactie af: wil je het niet, OK, dan weet ik dat, doen we niet meer, deal.

Best geweldig, hij doet zijn uiterste best  om een voorbeeldige huisgenoot te zijn en dat is hij ook op deze manier. Grappig is dat hij alles wat hij wil gaan doen luidkeels aankondigt, hij heeft voor al zijn plannen miauwtjes, in alle toonaarden. Ook meldt hij zich weer op dezelfde manier als hij iets gedaan heeft. Is de kattenbak vies: dat weten wij direct, geen twijfel mogelijk. Alleen sommige meldingen zijn iets minder handig voor hem persoonlijk.

Gaat hij ‘stiekem’ naar boven om in een bed te kruipen, ja, als je het meldt is het niet stiekem, Garfie. Zit je op het aanrecht, dan zeg je dat van te voren, dus restjes opeten, daar komt het nooit van. En luidkeels je plannen melden om je grote liefde, het stuk kaas uit de koelkast, te gaan roven…. tja, jongen, wat moet ik hier nu van zeggen… Hoe aandoenlijk je gedrag ook is, zo kom je nooit bij die kaas die je zo graag wilt. Je bent toch, ondanks je bewonderenswaardige aanpassingsvermogen, een beetje dom.

Garfield is afkomstig uit Dierenasiel Bommelerwaard, waar nog veel meer leuke, lieve dieren wachten op een nieuwe baas!

Om precies kwart voor zeven miauwt Tommy mij wakker: Wat ben je laat! Ga je mee naar beneden? Ik heb honger! Het zijn drie korte, zachte miauwtjes. Kattentaal is veel efficiënter dan het Nederlands. Ik laat mijn hand over de bedrand glijden en we geven kopjes en vuistjes. Hij spint. Ik sta op, doe een plas en ga naar beneden. Woensdag.

Ik begrijp het volkomen, zijn ze lief? Ik zelf heb er 3. Het zijn lieve deugnieten, een beetje zoals het baasje hahaha

Die van bij mijn papa is wel lief, het is een Maine Coon, zo’n grote kat met toch wel een heel klein miauwtje, haha. En die bij mijn stiefpapa is nog een kitten, maar ook heel ondeugend, komt altijd naar huis met arme vogeltjes of muizen. Oh, vertel eens over jouw deugnieten!
