The human being proves every day that the mind is a box of surprises. And it is precisely because it works like this that, out of nowhere, I came up with the idea of ​​drawing these two using the infamous KillLaKill meme! I have to say that it is very much like Mias to do something like that with Elle. Only Elias' disgusted face is missing here.

I’ve been following her art and characters for a while (like since I was a freshman in high school, maybe), so it’s fantastic to finally see the webcomic finally come together. Pay the site a visit and get yourself caught up!

Mias and Elle is the story of a young woman who only wanted a holiday when suddenly she is whisked away by a man with strange markings around his eyes and one hell of an attitude problem to a parallel world, all to open doors. At least as far as we know.

Our story opens with Elle traveling to a large cathedral to spread the ashes of her late grandfather. She isn’t quite sure how to go about the process so she begins rambling to herself, trying to find the right words to say goodbye when suddenly the ashes spring forth from the urn and appear to fly of their own accord towards a specific spot. Why this happens I’m not entirely sure but after some advice from an elderly couple, she makes her way deeper into the building itself. Moments later Mias tumbles through to our world from one similar though very different to ours and proceeds to make Elle’s life incredibly difficult and chaotic.

I am always a fan of world hopping in stories, whether it’s classics like Narnia or newer titles like Beyonders, it has always been one of my favorite kind of genre. Usually, it is the protagonists choice to go to another world, or at least it is some choice on their part that leads to them going. Here it is very much a kidnapping that takes her to this alternate version of Earth. Magic is apparently a thing in this place and Mias seems to have a use in mind for our dear Elle, whether she wants to cooperate or not.

The first few pages are a bit blurry, not sure why. Might be the resolution of my monitor or just the layout of the website playing tricks on my eyes. It’s not too bad, I can still follow the story perfectly fine, just something I noticed as I was reading is all.  Once you get past the prologue everything seems to smooth out and look much better. There is a very subtle style change as you read, which is very fun to look at in my opinion. It shows that the creator is working very hard to improve their craft by doesn’t want to cause any drastic changes visually as you read. I’m not sure how long this comic has been running since the website itself is bare minimum, but I can tell lots of love went into this comic and appears to be getting updated every Monday barring any circumstances. 

All in all, this is a very interesting story. Kind of a neat twist on the “visit a new world” trope with plenty of questions to keep you reading. Hopefully, we get some answers soon. I’m especially curious about the strange situation with the ashes. That crap needs explaining!
