Just watched MI7 and so many thoughts first of all Tom Cruise is a legend there’s no other way of putting it, his run is so iconic I get so hyped just watching it, I can watch it over and over again 2nd my god Pom what an icon the way she went from this cute harmless character to this crazy bada88 scary bitc*h the range she has given the chance but I didn’t like they made her the mute Asian while all the other yt woman was constantly talking and how they let her di*e saving a yt woman 😂 gonna comeback to them later the casting of all these yt woman and just overall yt characters/cast and they couldn’t get one black woman to one of the roles like Lashana should’ve been and would’ve ate

Grace role so hard and she can actually act circles around anyone unlike whatever that nasty woman calls acting, it was unbearable to watch she can’t show any emotion can’t act for sh*t I knew this from seeing her in marvel movies but thought it’s been years she surly has developed some acting skills on the way over the years especially if she was gonna act along side Tom Pom Vanessa and literally all these icon amazing actors like my guy Cary Lewis literally everyone(especially eveyone british it seemed) was in that movie it’s like the fast movies all over again and what is it with marvel woman join these iconic franchise just before it ends like every single one of them came from marvel to try and become an action hero girly and I’m sorry only Pom can do it even Brie an Oscar winner couldn’t do it ofc there’s only 2 action heroines Angelina and Charlize and now Lashana Kiki Pom is on their way bc they actually did most of her stunts too like those 2 iconic action queen Jolie Thereon in male dominated genre oh and POM stole the the movie just like that and i think Tom knows it too! 3rd can’t believe my guy Greg from Top gun js here Tom really said you a great actor I want you in my other movies too now that’s talent just wish he got more action fightings, more scenes lines ect but I think he’ll get it next movie hopefully!

had a movie marathon of both indiana jones and the dial of destiny & mission impossible dead reckoning part 1 and yes, in a bid to revive my account i will be posting movie reviews of BOTH movies. will link the mi7 review above!

let me preface this by saying that i have NOT watched any of the previous indiana jones movies, but i do know that the indiana jones character is a cultural icon that has shaped the history of movies. (as well as the iconic soundtrack, of course)

so walking into the theatre, i honestly expected a movie about archaeology, and an action movie about archaeologists, people hired trying to gain back stolen / looted artifacts for display on museums, and maybe a little parallel to a lesser known form of cultural theft that is still very prevalent in our world today through artifacts smuggling.

never would i have expected to only be 1/4 right with my guess. as the movie opened, showing the action scene between indy, basil & the nazis, immediately i was hooked as the storyline involved some form of history. never would have thought this movie would do it all, from going on a global chase, to ww2, even going back in time to meet FREAKING ARCHIMEDES IN PERSON.

and i'm sure that most of the characters on indy's side have actually appeared in the previous movies in the franchise, and the actors have reprised their roles. yet the story doesn't fully depend on it, making it easy for new watchers like myself to still be able to follow along the plot.

final rating: 7.2/10, good movie jam packed with action scenes. however, certain plot lines seemed ridiculous, like letting teddy (a freaking kid) fly a plane, going back in time to see ARCHIMEDES

also i thought we we're going to see more of indy's whip action because it's literally his go to tool, no?

Recent 'tea' I've seen on IG are messenger conversations about someone close to someone close to HC validating that it's PR etc etc etc. Very dubious if it's real or not... seems to be telling us what we want to hear but who knows.

Other tea is that MI7 is filming in London and Tom Cruise is definitely there (apparently had his car stolen!) so the idea that he's throwing a weekend hang out and inviting HC and his gf is totally possible. I believe he would invite HC for sure, they are 'buddies' however much of a buddy you can be with a Scientologist.

Yes, it is possible. I don’t know I find it sad and lame this is the most exciting thing we have. A speculation about a party HC maybe not even invited. At least the engagement, pregnancy, NV as an iconic queen stuff was funny.

All in all this is sad because almost all of my answers said you are (me too) tired and bored of him. Look what have you done.

However I am planning one ( maybe final) reading on him, but don’t worry, not before other contents. 😁

Got any theories for MI7?

First of all, I need to see some extra action. With breathtaking stunts. I’m waiting for new cities and returning to old iconic places like Prague or London. I hope we done with Lane and Apostles, and new villains are not related with IMF, CIA, MI6, etc. I desperately want the confirmation of Ethan/Ilsa pairing but at the same time I can understand – M:I is not about any pairings. So if they fight on the same side that’s enough for me. About the plot theory, hmmm… We got very instable world, we got some kind of cold war, we got infection – choose whatever you want and you won't miss.

i love love love him. so much. i love how much he’s grown over the series and i love how important both he and simon have become to the franchise!! very much looking forward to seeing where mi7&8 are gonna take his arc next.

I LOVE HIM. such an iconic and amazing character. i’ve loved him for YEARS, in all incarnations. i’m so glad he has Ducktales 2017 to shine in now, even if i do still have some frustrations with how they handle him, but i do get that 1) it’s a large cast and 2) it’s primarily the kids’ show. can’t wait to see more of him in the show!

Mainlining

Mainlining is, in its own words, a “thrilling point-and-click hacking adventure”. It’s certainly at least two of those things, but your mileage may vary on the other two. 

I actually bought Mainlining on a whim when it was discounted for -90% on the Steam store, so it feels a bit like cheating to kick the challenge off with it. I think I was drawn to it because it reminds me a little bit of Hypnospace Outlaw and a little bit of Orwell, in that you act as a silent operative for a shady organisation (MI7, in this case) who spies on people through their online activity and, ultimately, has them flagged for arrest for crimes that you provide the evidence for, which you find by snooping through people’s personal files on their web servers.

As you uncover more and more information through your government-mandated spying, you learn that your targets and their associates are all part of a bigger group with the goal of destroying the Lions (MI7) and the BLU Pill Act, which is a fictional version of the UK’s Investigatory Powers Act. (You may know that one better as the Snoopers’ Charter.) I suspect that, much in the vein of Hypnospace Outlaw and Orwell, you’ll be given the option to draft yourself into the fight for personal privacy and take the operation down from the inside. Or not! Who knows.

I’m kind of divided on this game. It’s simple and very fun to play, in that there’s something very satisfying in manually typing “iphack [IP address]” to snoop around in people’s personal files. The main game window is a charming recreation of Windows XP (right down to pixel versions of the default profile icons when you create your in-game profile/save!), and there’s a lot of nostalgia in the types of sites you explore. 

It’s also a little bit too directionless for me--I found myself having to google how people had solved certain cases because I could not find the right combination of suspect, location, and evidence to file for someone’s arrest, and in searching, I realised that there were multiple suspects you could have arrested for any number of reasons. They didn’t even have to be the “right” suspect, so long as you could pin adequate blame on them. I thought I was going to be able to play this game in one sitting, but got so confused about where the wider narrative was going that I ended up deciding to call it quits and write this review instead.

My biggest complaint is that the in-game keyboard felt unresponsive, to the extent that I kept making typos if I didn’t press my own keys hard enough. And when it’s a game with so much manual typing as a huge component of the core gameplay... it kind of sucks to be told you can’t hack an IP address because you keep mistyping iphack or miss numbers out of the address itself.

Also, that Philippos site on the screenshot? Run by an in-game 60-year-old lawyer, who’s writing fanfiction about a horse called Firemane. It’s immensely tongue-in-cheek and I keep getting whiplash from my emotional response to it.
