things I thought were canon in mha but are probably just things the fandom made up that are so deeply ingrained in fanmedia, coming from someone who only joined the fandom a few months ago (correct me if im wrong)

(also not caught up on s7)

- literally any ships (rip, i know, but guys, no student relationships are canon as of rn)

- eijirou and mina went to middle school together

- denki probably has (absence) seizures due to overusing his quirk/bc storms

- red shoe theory (the quirkless have an extra toe joint and bc of that they need different shoes. unfortunately there's only one type, so doesn't matter if you're 5 or 80, you're stuck wearing bright red sneakers ://)

- erasermic. just the entirety of them being together. also includes erasermic fam. still rioting from when i found out erasermic is not canon >:((

- denki has adhd + dyslexia + dyscalculia (and probably a seizure disorder)

- hitoshi is in the foster system (and was probablg ab*sed bc of his quirk. includes mentions of muzzles and quirk suppressants)

- present mic was born with his quirk, deafening everyone in the room when he was born (includes mentions of muzzles)

- the bakugous (mitsuki and masaru) are either the best parents in the world (super attentive and caring) or suck and are probably ab*sive (quirk suppressants on katsuki any time he comes home, neglectful masaru, aggressive mitsuki)

- izuku is autistic (while not canon, i wouldnt be surprised, this is coming from someone with auDHD)

- denki's parents are both pro heroes (theres two pro's with electricity quirks. maybe?? maybe not?? we'll never know)

- endeavor is homophobic (i mean... im not saying he's not-)

- present mic was adopted by two moms

- eijirou has two moms (this one tho, so cute oml im screaming)

- the bakugous run a fashion empire (katsuki modeled for them before UA

- rooftop trio's full friend group included nemuri (a year ahead of them) and tensei (iida's brother)

- iida is autistic (ngl, if this aint the case im rioting)

- tsu never had a childhood, too busy parenting her siblings while her parents were at work or traveling

- back to the bakugous, they were too busy traveling to do photoshoots (mitsuki was the model and masaru designed clothes) to watch over katsuki, so he taught himself how to do everything (chores, keeping tbe house, cooking, etc)

- eijirou has depression/was su*c*dal in middleschool, the only thing keeping him from toppling was mina

- some mutation quirks are there at birth, others come in later. ex: toru (hagakure) was not born invisible, she turned invisible when out shopping with her mom (just imagine thinking "oh shit i just lost my kid at the store" and feeling something grab your leg with the voice of your kid but nothjngs there. wild, absolutely wild) just imagine this shit with the rest of our resideng mutation kids (whom i adore) koji, fumikage, mina, mezo, mashirao (would you consider hanta, kyoka, rikido, and mineta mutation quirk kids? bc i do)

- some kids come from all over the world (i like the idea of it, just how do they all know japanese then??) one i can remember rn were like denki is a 2nd gen japanese american, yuga we know is from france, hanta is latino (i adore this)

- mineta is great!! or mineta is a r*p*st (now, hes gotten better, i'll give you that, but hes still not great and i choose to hate him so im moving on-)

- the sports festival ceremony triggered a flashback for katsuki, making him feel like he was back with the sludge villian again

- izuku and katsuki co-wrote all might fanfiction and individually at one point had all might stan pages.

- fumikage, hitoshi, and kyoka rotate between the bakusquad and dekusquad

- the emosquad consists of fumikage, hitoshi, kyoka, mezo, katsuki, and shouto

- ochako has dad sneezes (loud asf and probably back to back) and katsuki has kitten sneezes (cute and singular) (no i will not explain further)

- while katsuki is loud and "angry" all of the time, you only really got to worry when he becomes deadly silent

- if you want tea on anyone, go to either mezo or kyoka. they know all

- shouto had many firsts after the dorms were implemented: first time trying ice cream, watching a movie, listening to music, trying certain foods, etc. bc endeavor either hated it, or didnt allow him access to it bc he thought it was a waste of time

- momo probably has an eating disorder, regardless of her quirk, due to her parents pressure as a high society family

- quirk related symptoms/damage. ex: katsuki's explosions causing low blood pressure and hearing loss. present mics causing hearing loss and chronic sore throats (maybe even repeat tonsilitis??). hitoshi getting migraines, insomnia, and nose bleeds from excessive quirk use.

- aizawa transfered to the hero course after winning the sports festival his first year at UA (i think it makes sense, what with him training hitoshi later)

Still tweaking, I have come to the conclusion that I actually hate most things about mha and it's fandom except it's vigilante/villain/support course deku fics. I hate a lot of the designs , I hate most of the fans, and I HATE the creator. There is no reason for him to be drawing all the female students in pros in revealing outfits while no male characters are designed like that.

Hagakure being completely naked is so unnecessary especially when we know making clothing that adapts to quirks like mirios hero costume. Why isn't she just in a suit that has the ability to turn invisible with her??? Why tf is she completely naked when fighting and no one stops her for her own safety????

Another unnecessarily revealing costume is Momo's, with quirk technology she could 100% have a costume that is someone how infused with her DNA to give her the ability to create thing on the fly and be much safer and effective. Even without that she could have a much more covering outfit for her own safety and dignity.

Minetas existence as a whole should have ever happened.

Onto pros, there's such a clear difference between how the male pros are designed personality and costume wise vs how the female characters are. The female pros are usually shown as sexual in some way along with being passive aggressive towards the other female pros simply because they're competition(that one interview) The overall lack of character depth for the female characters in general is crazy.

So many of the fans are fujoshis and general weirdos over the TEEN characters and I've seen so so many mischarcterizing all the characters to make them look better or worse then they actually are. And ofc my avid bakugo hate, the root of my hate prob comes from the fans due to how they acted back in 2020 and are still acting now. People always try making excuses for his behavior towards others instead of just admitting that he was a horrible asshole at one point but he's had character growth and i can see that but the way people just try to act like it never happened or try to say that izuku doesn't even care about the fact he bullied him is genuinely infuriating. Realistically there is no way that being bullied throughout elementary and middleschool doesn't effect izuku in some way, overall I don't truly hate bakugo but I hate his fans.

Ok, I feel dumb talking about this but it has been driving me crazy for a while now. Pls ignore my spelling and grammar for this shit bc I just need to get this out. (sorry if I say "like" a lot, I'm not good with words)

Why do people believe that fandom content is entitle to them? like all the fanart, fanfiction, and other shit. Like I know the answer to that question but still

like I see this on tiktok and twitter (even Youtube) all the time and I normally ignore it, but it's been like a little fly in my ear for a while now and it getting annoying.

Like how people will complain about a headcannon or how a character is portrayed and get pissed about it??? like if you don't like it, just ignore it. mfs be treat the artist like their fucking customer service or something?? and obsession of canon is just mmeh... bc why does it matter so much? If you want stuff that is canon then just consume the media itself.

It gets even more annoying when people tell you that your fanart, ship, or whatever isn't canon like yes I know it's not but I'm not going to stop. Like a mf alway got to tell you the sky is blue and an apple is red. like ok I know? but the sky can be orange/gold and apples can be green too. God forbid that I have a different perspective than you.

Also, why do some ppl hold fictional characters, more accountable than real people?? Like I understand, your allowed criticize and dislike a character (hell I do the same thing), but there a point you might as well put all that energy on real people. (I don't know if that came off as insensitive or not if it did, I apologize)

I also don't understand the whole "toxic" fandom shit bc it all fandom not just a couple, like every fandom is going to have some toxic fans. the bigger the fandom is the more toxic fans there's gonna be but also there's going to be a lot more normal fans. That's just math and common sense. I specifically hate it when people treat the entire fandom like they're all toxic fans with only few goods one.

So for example, when I was in middleschool (like 5th grade) I was in the undertale fandom and later on I would join the Mha fandom (recent got back in after 4 years) both were HUGE fandoms in their peaks and still kinda are. but I remember watching those "Most toxic fandom EVER" videos and thinking to myself "like damn that bad, the rest of the fandom is fun tho" maybe bc I was actually in those fandoms and I knew where to look, but I used to hate it when ppl in the comment (or in general) would be like "Oh good thing I'm in the [insert smaller fandom] bc we would never do such a thing" like most likely your fandom does the same thing?? you just know where to look and where not to go.

Omg also "the fandom ruined the show!" type of mfs like ignore the fandom jackass. I also feel like people use a fandom to hate on a show the popular (or vise visa) instead saying they don't like the show and moving on. Like just let ppl enjoy shit, not everyone is the same? like ever happen to "One man's trash, is another man treasure"?? and did we all read the "everyone is different" book during storytime as kids??

Especially the purity culture shit like ppl trying to be social justice warriors over some dumb shit (mainly harmless stuff) by calling it "problematic" like is it actually problematic or do YOU just not like it? then ppl write essays explaining why a harmless ship is "problematic" like put all that energy in your school assignments instead??

Also why do people act surprised when they get jumped by a bunch of fans on a post about such content like if you comment something like "this ship sucks and everyone who ships it is a horrible person!" on someone post about that ship, why are shock that the same shippers are attacking you?? That just dumb as hell and your fault at that point??

for example, I don't really like Kacchako, but you don't see me hating on a Kacchako shipper post, especially, if it's just wholesome content. No, I just move on the next post a fine something I like. In my opinion, you just seem pathetic and miserable if you do.

on mha fandom changing deku: it bothers me so much. that boy is insane. he broke his arms on purpose daily for like 2 seasons before a doctor was like stop that maybe? so he decided to break his legs instead. he can throw a bus. he's weird and off putting. he's everything to me.

(also it bothers me when people write bakugo to be all suave and cool like because (and i say this with love) that guy's a loser. but that's a whole other thing)

one more gripe i have with a few people: i hate when ppl just wash their hands of their history because its to complicated or they think they could never possibly love each other because of what happened. but ship them anyway. the WHOLE POINT of that ship is still loving someone despite their flaws or their past of being an asshole. people dismissing that and making their past never happen is something i could never agree with. i also dont agree w/ people saying they "fall in love" later in life, NO WAY. you look at these assholes that are so clearly obsessed and intertwined w/ each other and go "yeah no. they dont love each other yet or cant because of blah blah" FUCK OFF!!!! midoriya has been stake claiming his nerd since day 1 btw. "kacchan" is an endearing nickname that he uses for bakugou, WHOM, BY THE WAY, has NEVER!! stopped him from using that nickname.

bakugou has also, just recently, stake claimed his nerd. nobody uses midoriyas first name "izuku" from what i can tell, they just call him by his hero name. deku. so that means "izuku" is bakugous own form of "kacchan" now

they have been both obsessed with each other since middleschool. midoriya always stayed around in bakugous bubble and bakugou has always watched midoriya despite not wanting to. complicated feelings and all that on BOTH sides. midoriya couldve at least tried to cut bakugou off if he wanted to, but instead said fuck that im going to stay near him anyway. (its almost like? they both couldve been part of the fucking problem? wow. nobody has thought of such a thing before. wowza.)

anyway, my point? idfk i just wanted to rant. but i am and always will be obsessed with both of them. nobody gets me. except my mutuals and followers. but the fandom can fuck off as a whole. yup.

Now, if you're looking for specific fics instead of just authors, I'm gonna throw some in here below and give a brief summary of them (these are all on ao3 by the way): The Way You Used To Do by edema_ruh (Look. I know it's long, but it's the bkdk fic. Like. It's predicted events that happened in the manga. Anyways, this fic has a whole lotta forced proximity and slow burn.) warm hands by flowercafe (I used to reread this fic over and over again. Basically it's just a 5+1 of Katsuki taking care of Izuku's hands by massaging them.) you dragged me out (of a mile deep hollow) by deadwriter16 (Katsuki looks after Izuku post vigilante arc and gives him the love he deserves. Great hurt/comfort fic.) All We Ever Knew by dynamics (The writing for this fic is stunning. Goes really into depth with Katsuki's psyche and why acts the way he acts.) Halfway to the Moon (But the Sun is So Bright) by Catsired (Middleschool bkdk fic, but Bakugou realizes how much he's fucking Izuku over and tries to fix things.) in your dreams, nerd! by sapphic flower (Katsuki and Izuku can see each other in their dreams. Amazing concept. So well written)
