things I thought were canon in mha but are probably just things the fandom made up that are so deeply ingrained in fanmedia, coming from someone who only joined the fandom a few months ago (correct me if im wrong)

- literally any ships (rip, i know, but guys, no student relationships are canon as of rn)

- eijirou and mina went to middle school together

- denki probably has (absence) seizures due to overusing his quirk/bc storms

- red shoe theory (the quirkless have an extra toe joint and bc of that they need different shoes. unfortunately there's only one type, so doesn't matter if you're 5 or 80, you're stuck wearing bright red sneakers ://)

- erasermic. just the entirety of them being together. also includes erasermic fam. still rioting from when i found out erasermic is not canon >:((

- denki has adhd + dyslexia + dyscalculia (and probably a seizure disorder)

- hitoshi is in the foster system (and was probablg ab*sed bc of his quirk. includes mentions of muzzles and quirk suppressants)

- present mic was born with his quirk, deafening everyone in the room when he was born (includes mentions of muzzles)

- the bakugous (mitsuki and masaru) are either the best parents in the world (super attentive and caring) or suck and are probably ab*sive (quirk suppressants on katsuki any time he comes home, neglectful masaru, aggressive mitsuki)

- izuku is autistic (while not canon, i wouldnt be surprised, this is coming from someone with auDHD)

- denki's parents are both pro heroes (theres two pro's with electricity quirks. maybe?? maybe not?? we'll never know)

- the bakugous run a fashion empire (katsuki modeled for them before UA

- tsu never had a childhood, too busy parenting her siblings while her parents were at work or traveling

- back to the bakugous, they were too busy traveling to do photoshoots (mitsuki was the model and masaru designed clothes) to watch over katsuki, so he taught himself how to do everything (chores, keeping tbe house, cooking, etc)

- eijirou has depression/was su*c*dal in middleschool, the only thing keeping him from toppling was mina

- some mutation quirks are there at birth, others come in later. ex: toru (hagakure) was not born invisible, she turned invisible when out shopping with her mom (just imagine thinking "oh shit i just lost my kid at the store" and feeling something grab your leg with the voice of your kid but nothjngs there. wild, absolutely wild) just imagine this shit with the rest of our resideng mutation kids (whom i adore) koji, fumikage, mina, mezo, mashirao (would you consider hanta, kyoka, rikido, and mineta mutation quirk kids? bc i do)

- some kids come from all over the world (i like the idea of it, just how do they all know japanese then??) one i can remember rn were like denki is a 2nd gen japanese american, yuga we know is from france, hanta is latino (i adore this)

- mineta is great!! or mineta is a r*p*st (now, hes gotten better, i'll give you that, but hes still not great and i choose to hate him so im moving on-)

- the sports festival ceremony triggered a flashback for katsuki, making him feel like he was back with the sludge villian again

- izuku and katsuki co-wrote all might fanfiction and individually at one point had all might stan pages.

- fumikage, hitoshi, and kyoka rotate between the bakusquad and dekusquad

- the emosquad consists of fumikage, hitoshi, kyoka, mezo, katsuki, and shouto

- ochako has dad sneezes (loud asf and probably back to back) and katsuki has kitten sneezes (cute and singular) (no i will not explain further)

- while katsuki is loud and "angry" all of the time, you only really got to worry when he becomes deadly silent

- if you want tea on anyone, go to either mezo or kyoka. they know all

- shouto had many firsts after the dorms were implemented: first time trying ice cream, watching a movie, listening to music, trying certain foods, etc. bc endeavor either hated it, or didnt allow him access to it bc he thought it was a waste of time

- momo probably has an eating disorder, regardless of her quirk, due to her parents pressure as a high society family

- quirk related symptoms/damage. ex: katsuki's explosions causing low blood pressure and hearing loss. present mics causing hearing loss and chronic sore throats (maybe even repeat tonsilitis??). hitoshi getting migraines, insomnia, and nose bleeds from excessive quirk use.

- aizawa transfered to the hero course after winning the sports festival his first year at UA (i think it makes sense, what with him training hitoshi later)

Still tweaking, I have come to the conclusion that I actually hate most things about mha and it's fandom except it's vigilante/villain/support course deku fics. I hate a lot of the designs , I hate most of the fans, and I HATE the creator. There is no reason for him to be drawing all the female students in pros in revealing outfits while no male characters are designed like that.

Hagakure being completely naked is so unnecessary especially when we know making clothing that adapts to quirks like mirios hero costume. Why isn't she just in a suit that has the ability to turn invisible with her??? Why tf is she completely naked when fighting and no one stops her for her own safety????

Another unnecessarily revealing costume is Momo's, with quirk technology she could 100% have a costume that is someone how infused with her DNA to give her the ability to create thing on the fly and be much safer and effective. Even without that she could have a much more covering outfit for her own safety and dignity.

Minetas existence as a whole should have ever happened.

Onto pros, there's such a clear difference between how the male pros are designed personality and costume wise vs how the female characters are. The female pros are usually shown as sexual in some way along with being passive aggressive towards the other female pros simply because they're competition(that one interview) The overall lack of character depth for the female characters in general is crazy.

So many of the fans are fujoshis and general weirdos over the TEEN characters and I've seen so so many mischarcterizing all the characters to make them look better or worse then they actually are. And ofc my avid bakugo hate, the root of my hate prob comes from the fans due to how they acted back in 2020 and are still acting now. People always try making excuses for his behavior towards others instead of just admitting that he was a horrible asshole at one point but he's had character growth and i can see that but the way people just try to act like it never happened or try to say that izuku doesn't even care about the fact he bullied him is genuinely infuriating. Realistically there is no way that being bullied throughout elementary and middleschool doesn't effect izuku in some way, overall I don't truly hate bakugo but I hate his fans.

Ok, I feel dumb talking about this but it has been driving me crazy for a while now. Pls ignore my spelling and grammar for this shit bc I just need to get this out. (sorry if I say "like" a lot, I'm not good with words)

Why do people believe that fandom content is entitle to them? like all the fanart, fanfiction, and other shit. Like I know the answer to that question but still

like I see this on tiktok and twitter (even Youtube) all the time and I normally ignore it, but it's been like a little fly in my ear for a while now and it getting annoying.

Like how people will complain about a headcannon or how a character is portrayed and get pissed about it??? like if you don't like it, just ignore it. mfs be treat the artist like their fucking customer service or something?? and obsession of canon is just mmeh... bc why does it matter so much? If you want stuff that is canon then just consume the media itself.

It gets even more annoying when people tell you that your fanart, ship, or whatever isn't canon like yes I know it's not but I'm not going to stop. Like a mf alway got to tell you the sky is blue and an apple is red. like ok I know? but the sky can be orange/gold and apples can be green too. God forbid that I have a different perspective than you.

Also, why do some ppl hold fictional characters, more accountable than real people?? Like I understand, your allowed criticize and dislike a character (hell I do the same thing), but there a point you might as well put all that energy on real people. (I don't know if that came off as insensitive or not if it did, I apologize)

I also don't understand the whole "toxic" fandom shit bc it all fandom not just a couple, like every fandom is going to have some toxic fans. the bigger the fandom is the more toxic fans there's gonna be but also there's going to be a lot more normal fans. That's just math and common sense. I specifically hate it when people treat the entire fandom like they're all toxic fans with only few goods one.

So for example, when I was in middleschool (like 5th grade) I was in the undertale fandom and later on I would join the Mha fandom (recent got back in after 4 years) both were HUGE fandoms in their peaks and still kinda are. but I remember watching those "Most toxic fandom EVER" videos and thinking to myself "like damn that bad, the rest of the fandom is fun tho" maybe bc I was actually in those fandoms and I knew where to look, but I used to hate it when ppl in the comment (or in general) would be like "Oh good thing I'm in the [insert smaller fandom] bc we would never do such a thing" like most likely your fandom does the same thing?? you just know where to look and where not to go.

Omg also "the fandom ruined the show!" type of mfs like ignore the fandom jackass. I also feel like people use a fandom to hate on a show the popular (or vise visa) instead saying they don't like the show and moving on. Like just let ppl enjoy shit, not everyone is the same? like ever happen to "One man's trash, is another man treasure"?? and did we all read the "everyone is different" book during storytime as kids??

Especially the purity culture shit like ppl trying to be social justice warriors over some dumb shit (mainly harmless stuff) by calling it "problematic" like is it actually problematic or do YOU just not like it? then ppl write essays explaining why a harmless ship is "problematic" like put all that energy in your school assignments instead??

Also why do people act surprised when they get jumped by a bunch of fans on a post about such content like if you comment something like "this ship sucks and everyone who ships it is a horrible person!" on someone post about that ship, why are shock that the same shippers are attacking you?? That just dumb as hell and your fault at that point??

for example, I don't really like Kacchako, but you don't see me hating on a Kacchako shipper post, especially, if it's just wholesome content. No, I just move on the next post a fine something I like. In my opinion, you just seem pathetic and miserable if you do.

on mha fandom changing deku: it bothers me so much. that boy is insane. he broke his arms on purpose daily for like 2 seasons before a doctor was like stop that maybe? so he decided to break his legs instead. he can throw a bus. he's weird and off putting. he's everything to me.

bakugou has also, just recently, stake claimed his nerd. nobody uses midoriyas first name "izuku" from what i can tell, they just call him by his hero name. deku. so that means "izuku" is bakugous own form of "kacchan" now

they have been both obsessed with each other since middleschool. midoriya always stayed around in bakugous bubble and bakugou has always watched midoriya despite not wanting to. complicated feelings and all that on BOTH sides. midoriya couldve at least tried to cut bakugou off if he wanted to, but instead said fuck that im going to stay near him anyway. (its almost like? they both couldve been part of the fucking problem? wow. nobody has thought of such a thing before. wowza.)

welcome to: counterarguing each point because the characters, Izuku especially have been grossly misunderstood here!

Calling Izuku a stalker makes it sound like he was just a random creepy dude in Bakugos life. They've been friends since toddlerhood and their parents are friends, not to mention they've always gone to the same schools with the same/similar classes. Izuku has had plenty of opportunities to be close to Katsuki & learn about him without partaking in stalker behaviour. Also, if bakugo genuinely wanted to be left alone, he likely would've been a lot more harsh towards Izuku about it. But he never did, he lets izuku be close and never actually tries to make him go away outside of the mild bullying and verbal annoyance. .

Izuku has notebooks about literally everyone! He's written about all his classmates, teachers, and other heroes! He analyzes people and their abilities, that's his whole thing! .

You're kidding right? That is absolutely not what izukus statement was supposed to mean! He idolized all-might sure, but Katsuki was right there by his side and just as amazing if not more so in his eyes: a hero in the domestic every day sense rather than just an idol. He admires Katsuki and cares about him quite a lot. He also definitely sees Katsuki as a person! You can find official notebook entries from Izuku and talks about katsuki as a person, going on about how good he is at cooking, how cleanly he is, etc. He admires ALL of Katsukis skills and traits, not just the heroic aspects. .

no, Izuku does NOT look down on Bakugo nor see him as a tool. In case you didn't notice, Izuku copies Katsukis moves subconsciously, not to mention the fact said moves work well for both of their abilities either way. He's also only expressed wanting to surpass Katsuki 3 times, none maliciously and two only said after season 3 when they developed a healthy rivalry. Other than that, Izuku explicitly states that he thinks Bakugo is strong & amazing and I thought it was pretty clear he just wanted to reach Katsukis level and be equals with him. Also as stated before, he very much sees Bakugo as a person and cares for him deeply. .

As previously stated, Izuku does not look down on him. Also previously stated, if Katsuki genuinely wanted Izuku to leave him alone, he would have forced him to do so. Bakugo never meant any of the rude things he said in middleschool and Izuku knew better than to believe any of it. Katsuki made it pretty clear that he only tried to push Izuku away in the past because he was insecure, not because he didn't want him around. Also Katsuki is always the one initiating physical (nonharmful) touch with Izuku. Izuku is never touchy or physically affectionate towards Katsuki in any way, he just stays close to him. Meanwhile Katsuki is always going out of his way to touch Izuku in various ways whenever the opportunity arises (touching his hair, leaning on him, etc). If Bakugo genuinely wanted to be left alone, he wouldn't be so touchy with him. .

Are you serious? Izuku went out of his way to help him during the ground beta fight, was the one who planned & initiated his rescue during kamino, trusted him with his quirk in the second movie, has several helpful and caring moments with him in the novels (yes there are mha novels, check them out if you want) including helping bakugo when he gets sick, and likely would've killed for him on more than one occasion if shigaraki/shigafo had had slower reflexes. You also have to remember that Izuku is characterized as being empathetic & able to tell how people are really feeling. Like you said, if Izuku had offered to help with training and the like, Bakugo likely would've rejected it. Izuku knows this and thus allows Bakugo to reach out instead because he understands how much he struggles with such things and doesn't want to intrude on Katsukis feelings. While the training they do together may be for izuku, but it's plenty beneficial for Katsuki as well. Also Katsuki started actively reaching out and helping in the first place because, as stated by all-might & acknowledged by Katsuki himself, he wanted to atone for his past behaviour. Izuku doesn't have anything to atone for, he was always kind and always by Katsukis side. As far as Izuku is concerned, just being with Katsuki and spending time with him is enough.

Izuku has never been intentionally condescending or negative towards Katsuki, his whole thing is that he's so kind and caring towards others but doesn't care about himself & thats what freaks Katsuki out so much & combined with the whole 'suddenly having a quirk' thing briefly makes him belief Izuku is looking down on him.

You've also appeared to completely overlook the fact that Katsuki is more or less equally obsessed with Izuku. Aside from the whole constantly touching Izuku thing I mentioned earlier, he was just as eager to surpass Izuku even before the ground beta fight. He also canonly somehow knows the exact number of freckles on Izukus face + how they're supposed to look (shown in the smash manga) as well other specific facts about him, thinks about the creek incident & the fact he didn't take Izukus hand more than once throughout the series, had izuku as a first/last thought multiple times (after the first war, [manga spoiler], etc), copies Izukus muttering habit in the manga, explicitly wanted Izuku to look at him during 1A vs 1B, has analyzed Izuku just as thoroughly as Izuku has analyzed him if not more so (though not written down in his case i don't think), multiple other moments in the novels, etc. So it's not very fair to call izuku a hypocrite when Katsuki honestly isn't much better.

finally, you have to keep different forms of affection in mind. Katsukis shows affection via physical touch and acts of service, while Izukus are verbal affection and giving his time. So while Katsuki shows his love, platonic or otherwise, by helping Izuku train & such, Izuku shows his by praising Katsuki and spending time with him. If you wanna properly judge how much someone is giving to a relationship in general, you have to keep that in mind.

Hot take: Deku is actually way more toxic than Bakugou.

It seriously does get overlooked so much how much harm Deku actually has done to Bakugo damn. Like yes, obviously, Bakugo told him to kill himself, which was horrible, don't get me wrong!! He should never ever have done that and I absolutely understand if you hate him for it.

HOWEVER!!!!! Deku also played a huge role in why their relationship got so incredibly toxic. There are a number of things that just give me the ick so badly, I'm astounded how barely anyone is talking about this.

1. Deku is a goddamn stalker. He has been following Bakugou around FOR YEARS. Since they were children, he has followed in his footsteps. Now I don't know to which extent they really were friends in the beginning, but from what I saw since the first chapter is that Bakugo has been very vocal about wanting Deku to leave him alone, which Deku simply does not respect.

2. He has a book with written notes about Bakugou's skills and movesets??? That is creepy as hell??? Wtf

3. He has NEVER seen Bakugou as an actual human being. He literally admitted that Bakugou is a next-door All Might to him, someone who is similarly admirable and powerful, but part of his daily life. This is incredibly harmful and I think it borders on hilarious that this will probably never be picked up on by Horikoshi. Because what the hell.

4. Yes, Deku DOES look down on Bakugou. As said above, he does not view him as a person at all, rather as a tool to compare himself to and use for his own progress. Deku shamelessly copies Bakugou's moves without crediting him whatsoever, and all the while tells him to his face that he will be better than him.

5. He does not respect Bakugou's boundaries. Simply put, it never mattered what Bakugou said to Deku, like, at all. He might have shivered and mumbled a bit, but in the end, nothing that Bakugou said or did had any impact on Deku's choices or life path at all. These three points all go together, and Bakugou said it himself that he can't stand how Deku looks down on him. But does he care? Of course not lmao

6. Can you tell me a single thing Bakugou has gotten out of his relationship with Deku? Because I literally cannot. It is so one-sided, it's insane. In the newer chapters, Bakugou goes out of his way to help Deku, spends a lot of time training with him, giving helpful advice without being asked, gets fucking stabbed for him. What has Deku done?? A whole load of NOTHING! Not that Bakugou probably would have accepted anything either, but you get the point. All Deku does is invade his privacy. Todoroki for example did help Bakugou in so many ways despite also being told off. But their relationship is a whole different topic haha

I'm not sure how much of this Horikoshi actually realises. I have been thinking that Deku is incredibly condescending towards Bakugou right from the start, and it was very fulfilling to hear Bakugou basically voice everything I have been saying in the big Deku vs Bakugou fight after All Might's fall.

The problem is, however, that this is also the point where my interpretation of Bakugou starts to deviate from canon. The reason for this is that Horikoshi wrote it so that Bakugou not knowing Deku didn't hide his quirk from him was the reason for his thinking, and later he got worked up over believing he was the reason for All Might's downfall. Once these problems are out of the way, Bakugou hasn't any reason for conflict with Deku left, because he is a character in the story, while I, the reader, see problems way beyond that.

Even in the story itself, it is questionable at best how much of a hypocrite Deku is, but he's just not supposed to be seen that way, so Bakugou can't do that. From my perspective however, Deku is just awful. He's written so badly and it pains me to see Bakugou accepting him as a friend. It's good that he realised his own mistakes and yes, he should have apologized, but other than that…

Their relationship would be best if it just didn't exist.

What if: MHA/BNHA Characters would have Pokemons

Side Notes:

•The characters still have their Quirks but in addition (practically as support (not in all cases)) their Pokemons

•It shows "the first appearance" and "now" ("now" is without the 7th season) (an in this case: As a vhild and Middleschool)

•Excluded Pokemon are: Legendary, Sub-Legendary and Mysterious Pokemon (only Paradox Pokemon are allowed if they fit the aesthetic of the character)
