MFF Art Show Submission #1 - "Agile Fox Heroine"

Hi hi hello!! I will be attending Midwest Furfest this year, which will be my FIRST one ever! Which is SO exciting!! I'm also going to be participating in the Art Show, and here's the first piece I made for it <3 This is done with ink, on 9 x 12 Bristol Board, and took about 5 hours to finish I think.

Found this on the floor of the MFF fursuit lounge during an extremely fun and joyful night, it really was so poignant and made me so happy to be myself around so many other wonderful people.

More MFF ramblings below...

This year’s MFF was such an incredible experience, on par with or maybe even better than my first time there in 2018 (though that was helped by also seeing Bent Knee, Leprous, and Haken the same weekend). Every year, it feels like I gain more experience with how to handle fur cons, especially with my partial suit, and it culminated in such a fun Saturday night that I don’t think I’ll ever forget.

Eating waffles in a friendly stranger’s room, getting wasted with Snacks in suit on peanut butter whiskey, running around hugging fursuiters for hours, sharing joints and conversations with random people on the balcony, meeting back up with my boyfriend for drinks and Wendy’s in a popufur executive suite; I truly wished it would never end.

I’m so so grateful that every year I get to meet more amazing people, friends both old and new to share experiences with. People enjoy this fandom for a multitude of different reasons, and I love getting to share in all of that variety for the weekend. It really helps me feel more confident in truly being myself, the way that I want to be, around so many people who are excited to celebrate that with me.

So much love for my friends, I can’t wait for the next one 💜 💜 💜 (might even make it to BLFC next year!)

I'm too lazy to repost all the art I posted on a thread on my twitter account, so I will put the link to that there and also just give a statement over here.

Happy 20th anniversary to Slightly Damned, the first webcomic that I ever read and one that's just kept on chugging and keeping me inspired for years and years. 20 years is insane!!! I was 3 when it started!!

Ever since I first read it in December of 2016, it's been a consistent, positive force for my art and story ideas, and it's something I recommend to my friends whenever I can. Hell, even my parents know about it, I've got plushies, I've got the books, I've got stickers. One of the first t-shirts I bought online was an SD t-shirt!!

Time's been slipping away from me lately and I haven't found the time in a *while* to catch up with the latest pages of the comic, but that seems to be the general trend, huh... I WILL somehow find time to get my friends who haven't read it to read it :3

To celebrate on here, I found a pic from MFF 2022 of @hyenafu cradling Rhea ever so gently :p
