[Max is] in a very powerful position in the championship. He's a long way ahead. He has nothing to lose. People can say it's the other way around, like he's got everything to lose and it's all for me. But it's not the case, you know. So it's not for me. I'm focused on myself. Very frustrating just reading Max fans hearing his press conference histrionics and running with it without applying some critical thinking to it so for the record...

Sky Sports probably aren't in the post race press conference because its aimed more towards print media. They have an interviewer and camera crew standing in the press pen outside ready to interview them one on one rather than wait to be picked to ask one question. Same goes for F1TV.

In a lot of fly away races, a lot of press and media is working on a skeleton crew and so they do have to pick and choose what quotes they get and the press conference footage and transcripts are available to all of them anyway... so the majority would no doubt have chosen to go after Lando and ask him about his bad race instead. Sky Sports also pool resources and share footage across their German and Italian counterparts.

Max has repeatedly said he's not going to participate fully in press conferences out of protest of his swearing penalty so why would you pick that option, knowing there's a chance he's going to give one word answers then have you follow him in to the hallway to jostle to ask a question out there instead. (Funnily enough he seemed to forget he was protesting as soon as he won).

The press conference questions came from largely French and Brazilian outlets which figures. But you can't complain about the paddock being too British and then also complain when it's not British enough?
