reasoning:

wei wuxian: canonically destroys himself using a forbidden power he picked up to protect his loved ones. a classic "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" story. also does go kind of hard on the torture-revenge when he's actually provoked.

lan wangji: earthly attachment to wei wuxian. looks like a paragon of jedi righteousness so the fall from grace would be more dramatic. closest character to anakin skywalker imo

jiang cheng: he went through so much shit and he's let go of exactly none of it. this guy with a grudge is like a dog with a bone. he's been living in the past for the past 13 years.

jin guangyao: follows utilitarian moral ethics. also that shit he did to his asshole dad would be palpatine approved

nie huaisang: 10+ year revenge scheme. what else needs to be said

xiao xingchen: wildcard option. idk man he started out so pure and idealistic and he went through so much shit. it could be interesting
