I swear this match today is the worst because as a Brazil fan who do you support??? The team that knocked you out or Argentina lmao. Like it’s so hard. I’ll honestly pick Croatia for this because how funny would it be if it’s Croatia vs morocco (then I’ll support morocco). Idk what it is Argentina just annoy me sorry
#word cup 2022#and everyone saying do it for messi#poor messi#like why he’s won everything there is to win he’s not poor#he doesn’t need the World Cup too#plus I don’t think Argentina are the best/most complete team#low key morocco are better only conceding one (own) goal#don’t even hate messi but people treating him like he’s the son of god please relax lol

IBAI x PEDRI - January 2, 2024 (summary)
He’s doing okay but things are a bit tough at the moment
He spent Christmas at home in Tenerife with his family
They play 'Suika Game' a lot in the dressing room (but on the phone and not the PC because it's free there lol)
He laughed a lot with Piqué in the dressing room. Piqué didn't really like training sessions but he was very good in the matches
Have you ever looked at Pique and thought that if you wanted to, you could dribble past him 7 times? - "Yes (laughs)"
Ferran has supported him a lot and is always there for him
Ferran takes the shark mentality very seriously, so Pedri gave him some shark slippers and now Ferran wears them in the dressing room
He tries to help Gavi every day because he knows what it's like to be injured for a longer time and he's confident that he will come back in great condition
Pedri does pilates now after Puyol recommended it to him
Pedri has Aleix García in his Fantasy team (his brother is first, he is second)
He rarely uses Twitter, he uses Twitch and TikTok more
They are behind Xavi 100%
In his opinion, Neymar looks good with every hairstyle
Girona are playing very well and he thinks that they could win LaLiga
Jordi Alba and Piqué were always fighting but that's how they got on. They just liked to fight lmao
Vitor Roque is wonderful, he is always happy, whenever Pedri sees him he is smiling
He doesn't like press conferences at all because they are a bit disturbing as all the journalists stare at you while you just sit there
In the Premier League, they are able to spend 80 or 90 million for players which is unbelievable. In La Liga, academies are what makes the difference
They don't really talk about the Super League in the dressing room
Boca Juniors or River Plate? - He's only watched one game and Boca won, so Boca
For Pedri, Busquets is the best No. 6 in history
His favourite player is Iniesta (in case you somehow didn't know that yet)
His favourite XI in history: ter Stegen, Jordi Alba, Piqué, Ramos, Alves, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo (after being forced by Ibai), Messi and Luis Enrique as a Coach (he changed out Ronaldinho for Neymar later)
Luis Enrique doesn't have What's App. If you want to talk to him, you need to send him an SMS
He was nervous when scoring the decisive penalty against Real Betis because the goalkeeper was a giant
Hardest defeat: penalty shootout against Italy (Euros 2020)
He supported Argentina in the WC final (for Leo)
He would like Haaland to sign for Barça (in his words "as a replacement for Lewy because he won't play for us until he's 60") and he also really likes Julían Alvarez (agent Pedri 👀)
His first friend at Barça was Trincāo
A dream: to win the Champions League and the World Cup
Before games, he likes to listen to slow Spanish music (Julio Iglesias? - "Maybe (laughs)")
His favourite singer is Quevedo (everyone act surprised please)
Vitor is only 18 years old, you cannot ask him to be the new Pele, but he has a lot of confidence from the club
He normally always stops for fans but there are always the same 5-6 TikTokers in front of the training ground so he sometimes doesn't stop if it's just them
He is rewatching Prison Break at the moment, even though he's seen it two times already. The first season is the best one in his opinion
He used to watch anime but not anymore
Kounde has the confidence to wear anything
They should listen to the players more because the calendar is so tightly packed right now and there are too many injuries
He would like to score more goals
He found scoring goals strange when he was younger because he never knew how to celebrate and all he did was run and look stupid
Ibai breaks his computer mouse and engineer Pedri tells him to plug it out and in again (Pedri indeed managed to fix it)
Favourite place in Barcelona? - Camp Nou ❤️
Ibai and Pedri played 'Guess these 100 Players' and Pedri guessed 94/100 right (and Pedri realised he doesn't know enough South American players)

Golden boy
In honor of Argentina finally winning the World Cup and Messi finally fulfilling his dream, I decided to write this one shot. I really hope you enjoy it and if you are from Argentina then FELICITACIONES ENSERIO SE LO MERECEN!
Let me know if you want to make this a series with different scenarios and stuff.
Anything in blue is commentary!
---
“Are you sure you packed everything?” She asked, walking into the bedroom. He was standing by his suitcase preparing everything for his departure to Qatar. “See? This is what happens when you don’t let me help you”.
“You start doubting my packing abilities?” Y/N playfully slapped his chest and handed him a cup of tea that she had just prepared. “I think I got enough experience in this” His hand brushed past her small bump.
She was pregnant with their second child. Although the public had no idea about it. She had been hiding in their house ever since she found out. Just as a precaution. Y/N was incredibly grateful of all the fans and support, but they could get a little crazy, and her first priority was keeping their unborn child safe.
“Last time you felt to the Euro cup with only a pair of briefs. Of course, I do!” Harry laughed at his fiancé then drank the tea. “Are you excited?” He frowned, running his fingers through his long hair.
“M’nervous. Everyone talks so much shit, and it hasn’t even started” He had been blasted all over national news since the last tournament. He was brutally criticized by his ability to score in the national team. Harry contributed and had scored more goals than the majority of the team, yet it was never enough for the British sports press.
“Don’t pay attention. More than half of them have never even touched a ball” They were quick to point fingers, but none of them had played against the best football players of the world. Y/n helped him fold a few more t-shirts and socks that he had decided to take. “Look at everything you have achieved, darling. This trophy doesn’t define the class of player you are”.
“You don’t understand pup. I own this to my country. I would give up every other trophy just so I can win one world cup”. Harry had been growing anxious as the date of the inauguration approached. Y/N would wake up to pee in the middle of the night and notice he was missing. Only to find him downstairs watching the repetitions of other football matches.
“Alright” She exhaled, “We’ll come meet you at the quarterfinals” Y/N was traveling with the rest of the wags after the group stage. “Just know that whatever happens we love you, and we’ll support you no matter what”.
Harry wrapped his arms around her way waist and pressed her body against his.
“Wha’ I would do with yeh?” He pecked her lips and then her forehead.
“Leave to the other side of the world with only a pair of underwear?” Harry laughed and leaned down to kiss her, but before he could press his lips against hers, he heard a noise.
“There you are! Where were you?” Harry asked as he walked up to him. “I thought you weren’t going to say bye bye” He squat down and lifted him off the floor.
“He was at the park, right baby?” Nathaniel Styles was the spitting image of his father. He had his eyes and wild brown curls and according to his pediatrician he was going to be just as tall. Y/N had just carried him. It was as if Harry had a baby with himself.
“You are sweaty. You need to take a bath” Harry brushed back his messy curls and tried to take his shirt off noticing how flushed he was. His tiny arms hugged Harry, and he pressed his head against his father’s hard chest. “How about daddy gives you one whilst mommy makes dinner?”
“Perfect. Have fun!”
Next morning, Harry departed early in the morning. His family stood by the front door of their house and waved him goodbye.
The World Cup started later that week. Harry had Facetimed his little family the morning before the match.
“I knew you had forgotten something!” Y/N said as soon as he accepted the call.
“Wha?”
“Sunscreen! Look how burned you are!” Y/N giggled at how sun kissed he was.
“I am fine! Qatar has just been rough. It’s too hot and training got the best of me” Thankfully the national team had arrived a few days earlier to adapt to the hot temperatures. “How is Nate and our baby?”
“Nate has been wanting to wear his daddy’s number every day. He is excited to see you play, and the baby is alright. We just miss you and wish the best”
“I love you”
“I love you more”
That evening, Y/N sat in the living room with Nate and Harry’s family. All of them extremely anxious and nervous for him but hopeful that they were going to win every match.
England vs Wales was the first match. Harry started on the bench, yet he seemed very relax and serine. The first forty-five minutes hadn’t ended when Harry was called into the field.
The game instantly changed. Harry helped opened up the field and was able to assist Rashford in their first goal in the second half of the match. Everyone jumped and cheered as Harry and his teammates celebrated. The second goal came along very quickly. Rashford had scored again.
At minute seventy-one, Harry received a perfectly good pass. He dashed through the field, dribbling past Gareth Bale and Wales’ defense. With the speed and momentum he had, he just slightly kicked the ball over the goalkeeper and scored. The stadium erupted in cheers.
Harry ran up to the camera and brew a kiss right at it knowing that his family was watching. After all they were his biggest fans.
Back in England, Y/N hugged with the entire family. She couldn’t believe his talent and his ability to make it seem so effortless. Shorty after the final whistle was blown and England had defeated Wales.
Y/N felt extremely proud of the team as she watched them clapping and hand shaking the other team.
This was the first of many. England advanced to the quarterfinals and Y/N was expected to fly to Qatar. Unfortunately, Nathaniel had caught the flu and the pediatrician advised her to not fly with him. So, they agreed on her flying for the semifinals and soon Y/N was on an airplane with Nate on their way to see his father in Qatar.
“You are here!” Katie Goodman smiled as she ran into Y/N in the lobby of the hotel. She was Harry Kane’s wife and a sort of mentor to the young wives of the national team. “Look at him! He is so big. You look so much like your dad!”
“He does! I wish he had a bit of me” Y/N pouted, bouncing him on her hip.
“Ms. Y/L/N?” the receptionist tried capturing her attention, “These are your room keys and credit card. I hope you enjoy your stay”.
“Thank you! Have a great day” She smiled and shoved the keys in her back pocket and her credit card into her purse. “Have you seen the boys already?”
“I did for breakfast. They are alright. Somewhat nervous but excited to play. Harry has been doing a phenomenal job hasn’t he?” Y/N smiled and nodded vigorously.
“He is” Y/N smiled proudly.
“Listen, we are all having dinner together like around six. Are you coming?”
“Of course. Let me just freshen up and put Nate down for a nap. I’ll meet you down there” Y/N was also in desperate need of a nap and a shower.
“Perfect” Katie smiled and went away.
Y/N went up to her room and did as she said. She took a shower after putting Nate down and got into bed too. Her feet were killing her and so was her back. Thankfully she had decided to wear a t-shirt, jeans and sneakers for every match. Obviously with Harry’s number at the back. Y/N made sure to send a text to Harry letting him know that they had arrived and were safe.
“Oh I missed you!” Harry blew on Nate’s chubby cheeks and hugged him close as possible. The family reunited for dinner time with the rest of the teammates and their respective families. “Wha' is mummy giving you that you look bigger since I last saw you?” He tickled his tummy making him squirm and giggle. “And you look beautiful” Harry shifted his attention towards his soon-to-be wife.
“I’ve missed you” Harry gripped her chin and pulled her into a sweet kiss. “I’ve missed all of you” He whispered in her ear and planted a kiss on the side of her neck.
“Stop it” She giggled and pushed him away. “You aren’t allowed to until you finish”.
“You are no fun” he pouted even though he knew that she was right. He wasn’t allowed to have sex which was the reason that their wives slept in different rooms for the rest of the match. “We could seek and have some fun”
“Fun got us pregnant last time” Harry smiled as he remembered that night of the Champions League. They had snuck into the locker rooms after the game and after lots of convincing they had sex.
After having a nice meal, they all retired to their respective bedrooms in preparations for the semifinals
⚽️⚽️⚽️
The semi-finals were upon them. Harry had been benched for the first half. He didn’t mind it. He had been having some pain in his shin. Therefore, the coach wanting to preserve it had asked him to sit out.
It was 0-0 and people were getting desperate for a goal. Y/N watched from the box, she carried Nate as he soundlessly slept on her chest. He was definitely his son. Football matches were like a white noise machine for him. She was kinda disappointed that Harry wasn’t playing, but that didn’t mean that she wasn’t paying attention.
After the first half and seeing the disappointing results. The coach decided to put Harry in. He needed someone to connect and assist the forwards. The match was going nowhere if he didn’t replace a player.
“Your boy is going in” Katie winked at Y/N, she already had a big smile on her face. She watched him stand on the sideline waiting for the referee to substitute. He pulled on his socks and stretched his ankles. Meanwhile, the coach was whispering to him exactly what he wanted to see.
⚽️⚽️⚽️
England is having a first substitution. Harry Styles with number 9 is joining. Hopefully, he is what England needs to score. What do you think Jerry?
I think he is a very strong asset for the team. He reads well all the signals given my Kane and the rest of his teammates. He is also very observant and knows where to come in and create plays.
He is quite the player. He has scored or assisted on every single match. And there he goes, Jerry.
Maguire. Saka. Bellingham. Styles. Styles against two defenders. He kicks it with the left to Rashford. Rashford andddd it’s a corner kick!
We are finally getting some action here, John.
Kane kicks it. It bounces off. Styles gets it back and centers it. Rashford kicks it and GOAL FROM ENGLAND!
It’s coming home John!
It really is Jerry!
⚽️⚽️⚽️
The game ends 2-0 with another goal but from Bellingham.
Kane ran up to Harry and hugged him tightly as cameras snapped pictures of them.
“Holy shit!” Harry exclaimed while Kane threw his arm over him and laughed.
“We did it!” Kane yelled as the fans went crazy over the pair.
“Styles!” A reporter from the FIFA called out to him for an interview. “What an amazing performance! Congratulations”
“Thank you” He smiled, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
“Breathtaking goal. How are you going to celebrate?”
“With my teammates and my family and preparing for the next match” Harry smiled, “My fiancé and my son arrived yesterday, so I want to spend some time with him”
“Thank you Styles”
“Thank you” he said and walked off the field. He was exhausted and desperately needed a long shower. “Hello?” he called out as he walked into the Y/N’s bedroom.
“Hi! Man of the Match” she winked, wrapping her arms around his neck.
“Hi m’love” he was proud of himself. He finally felt like he was being able to show his talent. He felt like people were finally considering him as a decent football player. “Look at you so pretty in my shirt” Harry cocky winked. He hands untucked her shirt and slipped his hands over her skin.
“Harry” she warned, she could see his eyes burn with passion and his pupils dilated. “We can’t! I really want to but no”.
“No one is going to know m’love” he pushed her hair back, uncovering her neck, “don’t you think I deserve it?” he unbuttoned her jeans, his hands dipped into her pants and backside.
“What about Nate? He is sleeping in the other room” Her hands tangled with his hair as he assaulted her neck with kisses and bites.
“exactly he is sleeping” he guided her back towards the bed. “Just let me have a little taste” Harry gently laid her on the bed and finish taking off her pants. “Look at my pretty pup. You’ve been wearing these all day?” he pulled on a hot pink thong.
“Yes” she nodded, “for you”.
“Christ” Harry exhaled taking it off before burying his head between her legs.
⚽️⚽️⚽️
“Whatever happens today. I’ll be forever proud of you” Harry was ready for the match and the team was about to leave for the stadium. They held each other’s hands and had their foreheads pressed against one another.
“I love you”
“You got this. This is just another game” She whispered and kissed him. Harry kissed Nate too before waving at them one last time and leaving.
The stadium was filled with players from both England and Spain. Y/N couldn’t believe the amount of people wearing her husband's jersey. She felt an immense pride to be his. She had been with him since the beginning. She had been with him through the injuries and the club loans and more.
“I am about to shit myself” said Katie as she sat beside Y/N.
“You and me both”
“I am happy we are here, but what if god forbids they lose? What will we do? How do we comfort them?”
“I have no idea. I told Harry to treat it as another common match” Katie nodded as she finished out snacks from her tote bag for her kids.
“What? What did I miss?” Asantewa Chitty asked, walking in with a drink.
“Nothing yet just that I am shitting myself” The three of them laughed and waiting until the players came out and the match began.

⚽️⚽️⚽️
We are here at the final match of the World Cup. England versus Spain! What are you hoping to see today, Jerry?
I hope to see a very united England. I wish to see Style's magic and ability to connect those passes to Kane and Rashford.
The chemistry between those three is really something. I wish to see it because if not then we are going to have a terrible game.
⚽️⚽️⚽️
“Please let them win” Y/N whispered as the match started.
️⚽️⚽️
We are twenty minutes in and still no goals. Although England is playing a spectacular game.
Kane recuperates the ball. He is so quick. He passes it to Rashford. He is looking for an opportunity and some space, but Spain’s defense is way too tight. Styles is wide open. Rashford back to Kane. Kane changes sides of the field. Styles receives the pass and kicks it. GOAL! Once again, Kane with his magic.
I swear that this Styles kid is going to become the next best thing in the world of football.
I have no doubt. This performance today is indispensable
1-0 winning England! Let’s go boys. You can all do it.
⚽️⚽️⚽️
At the end of the first half England was winning the match with two goals against Spain. That was until Morata scored the first goal in minute 85’ and then they scored a penalty shot.
Harry couldn’t believe how they had lost control of the match with only five minutes left. He sighted and ran his fingers through this hair.
Y/N could see that he was extremely stressed. She could also tell that he was exhausted and frustrated. It hurt her seeing him like that. She wished she could make turn back time to when they were winning.
90’ minute came around and there was a short break. They were going to play 30’ more minutes in 15’ minutes halves.
Harry drank some water and sat for a second as the coach lectured them. The tension that was building was too thick. The fans had stopped cheering as reality set in. Y/N’s words kept replaying in her mind. He had to think and treat it like another match. The pressure was too much.
10 minutes into the 15’ half Harry scored a beautiful goal. He had seen the opportunity and had taken a shot at it. Harry knelt on the floor and blew a kiss towards the box where Y/N and Nate sat.
“Dadda” Nate called out as they showed Harry on the big screens. Y/N wiped the tears with the back of her hand as she bounced him.
“That’s right m’love. That is daddy” And so the game ended.
⚽️⚽️⚽️
England is the WORLD CHAMPION! You heard it right! The rookie Harry Styles has scored the winning goal! What a game! IT’S GOING HOME
IT’S GOING HOME!
⚽️⚽️⚽️
Everyone piled on Harry as the stadium erupted with cheers. Harry quickly got back into his own feet and waved to Y/N to come down with Nathaniel. He wanted to enjoy the moment with them because everything he had done had been for them.
“Harry!” Y/N called out as she ran to him. He hugged her and got her off her feet, spinning her around. “Congratulations m’love” she covered her face with kisses. Harry's mother walked up to them, carrying Nate with teary eyes.
“Thank you darlin. All for you three” he kissed her and put her down.
“Congratulations honey” Anne hugged him tightly and handed him Nate. “What a game!”
“Thanks mum” he kissed her forehead then turned to his son.
“I’ve missed you. Are you ready to go home?” He kissed his cheeks and held his world. Proud of himself. Proud to be from England.

https://28mindgames.tumblr.com/post/742251075304865792/louisforlunch-310 2015?? Now I need a timeline...
an ✨️ agüero - louis timeline✨️? this is so funny to me jajssjdjjd okay
sergio kun agüero is an argentine footballer (now he's retired due to health problems), he played for our national team and he's a legend of manchester city (on his debut season - 2012 - he scored the goal that made the club won a tittle after 44 years) and premier league (5th all time premier league goalscorer and the n1 non english scorer). he´s unintentionally a funny guy and messi's best friend.
2012:
april 30th: louis and stan went to see man city vs man united - 2 matches before man city winning the tittle x (min 4:33)
2015:
october 3rd: louis and oli went to see man city vs newcastle - aguero scores 5 goals in 20 minutes
october 4th: they follow each other
2021:
man city does not renew aguero's contract
march 30th:
april 8th: louis followed agüero on ig
april 10th: aguero liked and commented on louis post and i remember it was trending n1 here in argentina
april 11th: sergio did a livestream and someone asked for louis and he said that:
they have been talking on twitter for ages and they lived in the same area so they started to be in contact.
louis once invited him to a benefit game but he couldn't go.
when man city didn't renew his contrat (it was a big deal because he was the main player of the team) louis asked him how he was doing and all that, that´s when he told him that he was in mexico (long hair louis in mexico!!!) and when he return to london they should meet up.
that's when he says that when they meet up next time he would like to have dinner or something and he would teach him how to drink mate jajsjsj that's when he dm louis talking about mate jajssj and louis replied quickly and there's a very funny exchange 😭😭😭
sergio said that "If i give him mate, i will have to prepare it soft so that it doesn't hurt his stomach and not so hot so that it doesn't hurt his throat and it has to be a sweet mate" and called him tommy and luigi ❤️😇
that year sergio liked almost every photo of louis (i remember that the photo before afhf already has his liked when i opened the notification)
2022:
louis did two shows in buenos aires and invited sergio but that was the weekend when in manchester it was inaugurated a statue of agüero outside the man city stadium
someone said that he should give fernet to louis and he said "stop it, you want him to be drunk during the show" jajsjsjd
and that's it i think!
#i feel like i'm missing something but twitter search it's not working very well for me right now#ask#sergio aguero#louis tomlinson

Hey, i love your work and i hope you 're a having a great day💞 I have a request if it's okay, i was thinking maybe something with Anto and his girlfriend/wife is argentinian maybe related to Messi and some tension during the WC finale.
Or another idea where they are experiencing some cultural differences. Maybe her showing something from her culture to his family.
Thank you💞 💞💞
Conflicted -Antoine Griezmann (x Messi!Reader)
Summary: Your French husband is at the final of the World Cup but so is your Argentinian brother, Lionel.
You were the happiest when you saw Argentina beat Croatia 3-0 and with a goal, even though it was a penalty, of your brother, Lionel Messi. You were in your hotel room with your husband, Antoine, with the Messi 10 shirt on, when that happened. He had laughed when you threw yourself at him kissing him in your celebration form.
Antoine obviously welcomed your kiss and loved the attention.
You never thought too deeply into it but you started doing it when you saw that France was beating Morocco.
It was such a hard decision for you now. You were born in Argentina, you were proud of being Argentinian and you obviously wanted for your country to win, but on the other side you had your French husband.
He had already won a WC but you were also waiting for him to win another one, he had worked so hard for this, he deserved it, he also wanted to make his country proud once more and you wanted to be there for him.
So that's how you came into the place you were being now, sat in the French side with your Argentina shirt on but a French flag tied around your neck. People were whispering at the fact of the blue and white striped shirt on the dark blue side but whoever knew Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann knew that you were sister of the first one and wife of the latest.
You were feeling funny today, you knew that at the end of the day you'd feel happy and sad at the same time however the result will be. Happy for your husband and sad for your brother and country if France wins or Sad for your husband and happy for your brother and country if Argentina wins. By the end of the day, you'll be destroyed by the social media either way.
Good thing was that you learned to not give a single shit of what people said about you on social media.
Antoine's parents and the French WAG's were understanding your position. Of course, you can imagine they feel a little betrayed but they also knew your good intentions and the fact that you wished both teams the best of luck.
"Stop stressing so much about it" Antoine had said before arriving at the stadium
You were laughing at that right now.
First half passed and Argentina was already winning 2-0, you didn't celebrated the goals made by your older brother and by Angel Di Maria... And you were also not going to celebrate France's goals.
If they scored seeing as they weren't going to do it.
Your breathe hitched everytime the ball moved from Argentina to France territory and from France to Argentina territory. This was the world's best and worst final for you.
The amount of times your stomach was tied in a knot were uncountable.
It was worse when Kylian at minutes 80' and 81' did a doublet. It was tied and both of them heading into the extra time.
At this rate you wanted to throw up. You felt the looks of the whole stadium on you, even if they were on the pitch. You felt the whispers of both countries hit on your back.
At 108' Lionel scored and ten minutes later Kylian scored too. Fucking penalties. They were heading into the penalties. Everything could happen now.
4-2, was the end result. You cried for both happiness and sadness. You couldn't see Antoine's sad face and you could imagine your brother's happiness for finally winning a WC.
After a few minutes you bolted out of the French stands and got into the pitch, both teams still there along with the family of the Argentinians.
You showed your pass and security let you in.
Your eyes scanned the whole stadium searching for the brunette of your brother and the blonde of your husband, after what felt ages looking and looking around; you finally saw them both, hugging each other. You ran towards them and finally crushed both of them in a hug
You heard both of their laughs and felt their arms wrap around you
"This past three hours were absolutely hell for me" You admitted "I'm sorry and congrats, both of you" You spoke
"Don't worry, hermanita. We understand it" Your brother spoke first "Still, thank you for the support"
"I love you both so much" You said crying "And please known I'm happy and sad at the same time. This wasn't easy"
"We known it wasn't" Antoine whispered leaving a kiss on your cheek "We thank you for putting up with it, tho" You pulled away from them kissing Antoine's lips quickly and then your brother's cheek, hugging them once more
You guess, it was your country's time. It was your brother's time. Last time you were in the French side, cheering for them and celebrating with them on their win. Now, you'll also be there but with your people. Your latina people, you'd still celebrate it.
You were hurt for your brother back in 2018, now you are hurt for your husband in 2022.
Still, you loved the fact they respected each other, both of them understanding each others position. You went to your mom hugging her tightly feeling the excitement of your fellow Argentinians, you hugged your sister-in-law and your nephews.
You hugged Angel, Rodrigo, el Dibu, Dybala, Julián and every single one of the team congratulating them and even kissing the throphy your brother put up to your lips, laughing with him.
After a while, you escaped from them and went towards your French people. The first one you hugged was Lloris, the greatest captain ever, you kissed his cheek and congratulated him for the amazing job he had done, you then went to Varane, Olivier, Théo, Kylian, Koundé, Ousmane and the rest of them, leaving last your husband who was slightly behind them watching your brother with the Cup.
You went to him, hugged your husband and kissed him once more
"I'm so proud of you, I love you so much, I'm sorry and congratulations" His arms tightened around you
"Thank you, chérie" He smiled at you "Go and have fun with them" You shook your head
"I can't have fun knowing my husband is feeling sad, I know it's a normal thing right now but I just can't. I already feeling like I'm betraying both of you"
"You aren't. You're happy your brother and country got another Cup"
"But I'm also sad and destroyed because my husband and his country lost" You shook your head "I'm feeling everything a persona can feel" He laughed lightly
"That's not healthy for the baby, you know it" Antoine's hands went to your barely shown stomach, you were four months into pregnancy and not many people knew about it
"Well, I can't exactly help it. This baby will be in the middle next WC just like his momma is"
"I'm sorry"
"Don't be" You kissed his once more before feeling a weight on your shoulder "Merde!"
"¿Cómo que merde? ¿Qué sos vos argentina o francesa, boluda?" Your brother's voice made you and Antoine laugh "Venga, que mamá quiere una foto de todos" You nod
"I can take it if you want" Anto offered as Leo laughed
"Mamá dijo todos, vos también estás incluido. Somos familia"
After a few photos and some easing things from your family's part to Antoine, they were having a good time. Not the exactly best or they were fully partying like you knew they would, for Anto's feelings and respect but you loved it and were feeling now happy seeing that despite the differences they were able to push them aside.
Football is football but family is first.
Those two were your champions- your world champions and you couldn't help but think your third one was also on its way.

Argentina NT and Their Capitan, Lionel Messi
I've been thinking about the Argentina NT team dynamics. How they are so friendly with each other. How they always talk about how nice it is be back practicing with their NT teammates. The early morning mate, their interactions during and after training sessions, the protectiveness over one another during matches, some of the selfless on pitch moments that helped win matches, their silly Instagram posts, stories and comments, their remarks about a fellow teammate during interviews and finally, their love and respect for their Capitan, Leo Messi!
And their dedication towards him.
I don't think you'll ever find any team that is sooo happy to be part of a team. And so caring and committed towards their leader.
Yes, Leo Messi is the best player in the world. But what counts in a team more than skills is leadership and teamwork. I remember pundits and haters saying that Messi is not a good leader. He cannot lead a team, bring about unison and motivate them to win. If Argentina plays badly, it's because of him. Not just cuz he didn't produce goals during the match ("He dissapears at the big moments!"), but also because he just can't seem to get his team to play as a TEAM ("All they do is pass the ball to him, hoping he could pull a trick out of his football cleats. There is no team here, just Messi + 10 men."
To some extent, this was true. The team was not cohesive. They were over reliant on Messi and the team was built around him. The NT had world class players, but they were a bunch of players put together and not really a unit. But due to the amount of talent in the team, they were expected to perform great. To produce results. The amount of pressure put on Leo due to this is only something I can imagine.
From an outsider's perspective, it did take a while for Messi to embrace the role of a leader. Everyone believed that he didn't do what a leader does to motivate his team. Hell, some believed that HE is the cause for dressing room unrests. But none of the outsiders really saw what went on in the dressing rooms. We saw how he interacted with his players on the pitch. And to most, he looked detached. They didn't see him egging his members on to play better, they didn't see him encouraging them, they didn't see him helping them out from the sidelines when he's not playing ("like Ronaldo does!").
He was quite. He was tense. He looked like he didn't care.
("He's just in his own world when he's with the national team")
But things started to change. We saw him step up for his team (not for the first time, but this was what everyone remembers). The Argentina NT was getting bad press and media attention in 2016. Reports had come out that Ezequiel Lavezzi had smoked marijuana during NT training camp. Leo took the initiative to bring the whole NT to the press conference room and announced that the team wont speak to the press anymore. “We received a lot of accusations, a lot of disrespect. The accusations against Lavezzi are very serious.”
It's safe to say many were surprised. Leo Messi was officially taking a stance and standing up for his teammates. It was fresh to see Leo taking his captain role so seriously and protecting his members.
And we started seeing more of this side of Leo. The captain side. We saw him really being there for his teammates. And maybe this side of him increased the trust his teammates had in him.
With Lionel Scaloni coming in as coach, it changed things up. More young players were brought in. Players who grew up watching Leo Messi play. They considered him their role model. They felt inspired by him.
(15 year old Enzo Fernandez's letter to Messi after his retired from his International Career in 2016)
Team dynamics changed. The Argentinian National Team liked coming together for the international matches, meeting their teammates and doing familiar Argentinian things only they know of. They hung out in each other's rooms. They grew fond of one another. They became good friends.
As for their captain, they loved him. They were protective of him. Praised him. Not only for his skills, but his humility, his leadership and his attitude. They'd take any chance to talk about him. Though they admired and looked up to him, they worked with him, then for him. They worked together, as a unit. They were there for each other and Leo. And Leo was there for them. A Team.
AND THEY WON.
You get it? It's like poetry, it rhymes.
Anyways, Argentina NT is the best team ever. They were a joy to witness. This team deserved to win the World Cup. No doubt.
The leader and his devoted followers.
The GOAT with his team of World Class dedicated players.
THE ARGENTINA NATIONAL TEAM.

lionel messi of barcelona (2005 - 2021), who could ever reach up to you? you tried to leave several times, you went through the best and the worst of times, you fought with the board, you had some shaddy stories going around, you were an imperfect human and player like all, subject to money, selfishness or foolish actions, but thank you.
thank you so much.
thank you for being La Masia’s, for being so fucking quiet they thought you were mute, for making friends with Piqué and Cesc, thank you for hanging out with Dinho, Deco and the Brazilian’s in 2007, thank you for rising up to stardom as the team was crumbling down, for shining on the brightest Treble stage, for the out of the blue friendship with Zlatan, for staggering drunk and happy at that celebration, for those 91 goals, for bringing the Ballon d’Or again and again to the Nou. thank you for orchestrating our field with Xavi and Andrés, for being at Tito’s side, for the silly doping post on missing Xavi’s press conf, for your utterly selfless friendship with Luis and Ney, for that 2018/2019 UCL run and the bravery of realizing home wasn’t it anymore.
thank you for being 13 and giving the bare minimum to trainings yet still blowing minds away, for being 22, reckless, cocky, kissing that boot, for being 24 and ready to devoure the world whole, sticking your tongue at the most random ass occasions, for being 25 and destroying teams drinking coke, 27 and dribbling Atlético and Bayern, 29 getting those tattoos and bleaching those hair in that ridiculously fine haircut, 30 and exhibing your name to Madrid, 31 for that free kick, carrying a numb team up to the brightest stages on your sole back, 34 and saying goodbye.
the entorno is rooted in Barcelona’s every issues, something that drove Cruyff, Guardiola and so many others away, and eventually, after putting up with it, you too. being the face of our many glories made you the one for our every defeats. you somehow put up with it too. i’ve watched my team summon oases in the desert; i’ve watched my team dig its grave in the sand, and all this time, you never left.
players come and go, and the club remains. you’re not above the club, nobody is: and you never claimed to be. you’ve forged unforgettable parts of its History, and much like Argentina, you are now inalienable to its legend. you were La Masia’s child, the team’s starboy, the Nou’s prince and the people’s king. i believe a few years, maybe decades down the line we will realize the depth of your stature in this club. who else could pretend to do so?
this city and this club gave you somewhere to grow up, to develop your talent and work ethic in a unique football team and a vision forged by Cruyff’s and Pep; in return, you gave it twenty years of love and genius. as i said, you’re not immune to anger, greed, selfishness, pride, every trait that such a high-paced, public, stressfull, millionaire life can offer; you wanted to leave, your role at the club could exceed that of a normal player, we never know what kind of background politics and arrangements went on all those years. but you’re also a guy i kind of grew up with and one of the very rare football players who never deceived me character-wise. to think Fate or God gave such talent to a seemingly good person, and to see such individual play weekly, at my club, is a peace of mind numerous supporters can only dream of having.
i love you. nothing, apart from seeing you representing my country, rendered me more proud than seeing every version of you play in Blaugrana. i can’t describe the pride, the utter joy, the passion when you kissed the crest, the game, the euphoria when you pulled up a trick we never thought possible. to see you wriggle out of defenders, dribble a midfield, run like the wind, slot an inch-accurate pass. to get so used to your shape, your attitude on the pitch, that i could spot you from the corner of my eyes on the posture alone. that season when a free kick was like a penalty, the nervosity, the tenderness. i pity those who haven’t been lucky enough to see you being draped in their club’s colors at eighteen, twenty five and thirty four; it was not something for History to explain, but for people to witness. you made me fall back in love with football every week. your partnership with Dinho, your endless combinations with the nerds of midfield - Xavi, Busi, Andrés -, your firey one-two with Alves, your connection with Luis and Ney, your calls for Jordi on the wings, your willingness to help Ousmane, Antoine and Pedri. you made me want to pick up a ball and see if i too, could run faster with it than without.
i know this club’s institution made you go through hell times and back. but despite all, i still hope the memories of people chanting your name, of the Barça’s anthem resounding in the Nou on a UCL night, of the buzzing excitement and blind trust we gave our team before a Clasico, of the thunder erupting after a goal, of our colours displayed in our tifos, i hope all those remain untainted by the actions of politics. these moments, not the contracts, the empty promises, not the desperate calls or futile debate on social medias, these were the most sincere and spontaneous demonstration of love this club has ever given you.
i would have wanted to chant your name in the Nou one time in my life. I remain hopefull one day I will. life is so damn strange and opens so many paths— I know one of them will somehow bring you here. I know we will give you your proper farewell in a stadium full of people who witnessed who you are, what you gave, how you failed and how you conquered. I’m strangely peaceful about it. but in the meantime, 10, thank you. thank you so much, for everything. i hope you’ll spend time with your family, you’ve earned it. and above all, I hope you find back the joy in playing football, delivered from all pressure, races, debates, discourses, expectations, missing pieces; because, after having seen you do what you do best for more than a decade, I know that spark can’t be gone very far. you just gotta pick a ball up and run right ahead.
thank you so fucking much. i will never forget what it was like to see you in blaugrana. i love you.

Thibaut Courtois won the Golden Glove in 2018. 27 saves made, 6 goals conceded. Belgium came in 3rd. Dominik Livakovic made 25 saves and conceded 7 goals. 4 penalties saved (3 in Japan shoot-out, 1 in Brazil shoot-out). Croatia came in 3rd. Emiliano Martinez made 7 saves and conceded 8 goals. 3 penalties saved (2 in Netherlands shoot-out, 1 in France shoot-out). Argentina won the World Cup. So considering that Livakovic and Thibaut Courtois (the previous winner of the Golden Glove) have pretty much identical stats and Martinez is nowhere close, why isn’t Livakovic winning the golden glove again? It’s the award for best goalkeeper of the tournament, and so it should go to the best goalkeeper of the tournament. Martinez’s reward for securing Argentina’s (Messi’s) win in the final is the fucking World Cup, he doesn’t deserve the golden glove as well based on his whole tournament performance. If these awards are only going to go to players that win the world cup, you might as well throw them away entirely. Call me crazy, but the World Cup trophy goes to the best team in the tournament, the individual awards should recognize the individual player achievements across all the participating teams not just the winning team.
#dominik livakovic#world cup 2022#that's the last i'll say about it#but I just think that martinez only won it because he secured Messi a win#and that thumb pressed down hard on the scale

Breaking: Paulo Dybala no va a la Copa
This whole Dybala mess really upsets me.
This is actually kinda ironic for me because back in March, at the end of my post (this post), I wrote a lengthy paragraph about how fans’ toxic culture could destroy this team.
That supporters’ behavior who tend to compete players against e.o or criticize players, act like they have the right to decide who should join the NT and who shouldn’t is ridiculous. I mean, being Scaloni isn’t an easy job. Not only that Scaloni have to defend the Copa America title holder, but he also has to pick 23 or 26 players to be invited for his Copa squad when roughly 50 players are showing immense performance on their respective clubs this season. It must’ve been a dilemma, and supporters need to be wise in accepting what Scaloni has decided and believe that Scaloni knows better what is best for his team.
I never expected that I would have to swallow the bitter pill of my own words. Because that is actually what’s happening now, with Dybala becoming the center of controversion in light of the decision made by Scaloni.
Really, who would have thought that the player that gets left behind would be Dybala?
We’ve all seen how Dybala is a true baller this season, despite his injuries. Man be the only player who won 3 POTM awards, assisted 9 times, and scored 13 goals with 7 of that being 100% successful penalties. Unlike how he got injured 40 days before the World Cup, this time –less than a month before Copa– he’s fit. But what the heck then Scaloni decided not to call him?????
Maybe this is what Scaloni meant when he said, those who played for WC don’t have any advantages. That the only 2 players who got a 100% guarantee to play for this year’s Copa are just Messi and Di Maria. But the idea of not calling Dybala is just a total shocker to almost everyone.
A little throwback when the news of him picking up an injury just 40 days before the World Cup sent his teammates into concern. According to Cuti’s statement, their Whatsapp Group chat talked about that and he felt bad for Dybala.
But, surprise surprise, he still made it into the list and joined the whole team just a day before he celebrated his birthday with the team in Abu Dhabi (November 14th).
You can see just how happy and relieved everyone was when they embraced Dybala, even Cuti hogged him from the rest of the players.
Back to the present time.
How can I defend Dybala without discrediting other players, such as Angel Correa, Garnacho (who did well on United tbh), Carboni, or Nico Gonzales, whom according to Sofascore they are all scored less than Dybala’s average rating.
How can I explain that I don't expect Dybala to play as a starter (I don't even expect him to play as a sub either). My only plea toward Scaloni is simply to put Dybala on the roster just like Scaloni always puts Armani despite him not playing. Dybala's presence itself is enough for me.
I know the reality is kinda harsh for Dybala as he found it difficult to get a permanent spot (not only in the Scaloni era).
As in the last World Cup, Dybala only played <20 minutes (replacing Julian in the 74th minute in the match against Croatia and coming on in the last minute during the Final match).
Moreover, in the previous Copa Dybala was also absent due to poor performance at Juve caused by his injury. It really hurts to know he missed the chance to play when the country won the trophy.
To lessen the disappointment, he at least won Finalissima by only playing for 5 minutes, and amazingly in just that short time he scored a goal to secure that 3-0 victory over Italy.
Looking back at the 2019 Copa, out of the total 6 matches played by Argentina, Dybala’s first time entering the field was in the 3rd match against Qatar. Coming on in the 76th minute to replace Lautaro, providing an assist for Kun 6 minutes later. Argentina’s 4th match, he played in the last 5 minutes when Argentina was leading 2-0.
In the next game, again he came in the 85th minute when Argentina had already lost 2-0 to Brazil, and as for the last match to obtain the 3rd place Dybala played as a starter, along with Messi and Kun, scored in the 22nd minute before being replaced by Di Maria in the 67th minute.
Can you see what I’m trying to prove here?
Dybala may not always be the #1 option, but when he eventually plays, he delivers. He’s a clutch. And just like his statement, that he simply wanted to support the team, and tried not to show an angry or frustrated face for not being played. He knew this, and regardless of the situation he was fine with that. He accepted that.
And judging from how very important it is to be an NT player for every Argentinian footballer, I believe Dybala is happy enough to be invited to this year’s Copa even without any guarantee that Scaloni will really let him play. I believe he wouldn’t mind being a benchwarmer (unlike that England player who refused the country call because he didn’t want to be a benchwarmer under Southgate as coach).
So, what made Scaloni leave him out this time around?
What frustrates me the most is knowing there’s no logical reason to justify Scaloni’s shocking decision not to call Dybala up for Copa. There’s absolutely no reason at all.
1) He's fit,
2) His performance with Roma this season is amazing despite injury, while the other players that Scaloni chose are actually played not much better than Dybala,
3) Sentimental aspect-wise, he's one of the senior players,
And even more so 4) He has good chemistry with the whole team (( Especially since he's also part of Messi's close circle –Messi, LDP, Ota, Di Maria, and the Palo Santo trio– ))
5) Nothing bad happened between him and Scaloni previously (as confirmed by Scaloni himself in this interview).
Even Scaloni told that story about his son Noah’s favorite player is Dybala. Like, is that doesn't mean a thing??????
In return, Dybala always shows respect to Scaloni. Never openly throw a fit or complaint.
6) More importantly, this might be Dybala’s last chance to play in Copa America ffs!!
So, what's with the sudden plot twist????
Many people reacted to this news by saying, “Scaloni can do everything that he wants, you don’t question him”, "With or without Dybala won't change anything", and yes, it’s true. Scaloni could have called Dybala either based on performance aspect or sentimental reason, or even simply just because he can and I bet no one will gonna file a complaint about that because almost all of us expected Dybala to be there!! And okay, Dybala's existence won't give any differences since probably won't play either, but at the very least it could spare Scaloni from having this unnecessary public frenzy.
But somehow out of nowhere, Scaloni chose the extreme opposite. Which then sparked public heated discussion, and eventually, supporters dragged the other players like Garnacho or Nico Gonzales, when In my opinion the most random thing out of this situation is the fact that Scaloni chose Angel Correa over Dybala (again, I don't mean to belittle Correa, simply just stating a fact that it's bizarre).
Call me overreacting or being a bit too dramatic, but it feels like Scaloni is using the power that he knows he has. I’m saying this because there’s no justifiable reason to explain this Dybala situation, this feels like purely a power trip from the coach.
I try to respect Scaloni’s decision, I try to be positive and supportive, I want to be level-headed in response to this news, I try not to hate the coach, I try not dragging the other players, and even try to not pity Dybala’s bad luck too, but it’s just hard.
I know, anything can still happen.
Who knows, right?
Maybe Scaloni suddenly realizes that he made a mistake and is willing to make a little change on the squad list. Maybe some players try to reason with Scaloni for him to call Dybala. Or maybe someone from the already selected strikers picks up a last-minute injury so he can’t play thus Scaloni has no other option than to replace that someone with Dybala (this is very ill thought coming from my brain, pardon not pardon). or maybe Dybala will get married to Oriana this June, so at the very least, he won’t be feeling too woeful to abstain from Copa (the last part is just my wishful thinking tho)…
At last, I'm upset knowing that Dybala out from Copa means I won't get any new content of this beloved Cordobese pair.
And for this reason alone, Scaloni, sir, what you did is a crime.
UPDATE:
No estoy llorando, tú estás llorando 😭😭😭😭
