Hello, I need to come clean. I lied about this. I only French I speak is from 4 years of American education (i.e. not a single word).

While I'm sure that "péguer" is a real regional French term for something that is sticky, I simply googled "French for doorknob" and substituted "bouton de porte" with "péguer de porte".

It was meant as a harmless prank, but in the cold, sober light of day, I am wracked with guilt over my deliberate spreading of misinformation. I realize that my lies paint the previous information given by @mesherew as less credible, as well as making YOU appear "foolish" for engaging in the beautiful act of trusting and learning.

This breaks my heart, and I have no excuse for my actions other than I thought french kids playing "jelly on the doorknob" was hilarious. It IS hilarious, but lying isn't.

honestly, there are so many varied cultural practices that there was no way i'd ever know if this was true or not. maybe somewhere out there, it is; that's not for me to say. thanks for being honest, and thanks for giving @mesherew ideas for how to prank shitty people in her town

I might be straying away from the potential Crow choice because as much as I'm intrigued by this faction, it wouldn't be logical for her to throw herself into an even more rigid and abusive organisation - unless she never had a choice in this, and we go full angst and jump from a life within the Clan into the abusive system of the Crows, in a "you never know what you have until you lose it" vibe, and a "I hate my job but that's the only thing I know now" route??

Her first outfit is more pirate-inspired and I think the Lords of Fortune would fit the freedom-craving, adventurous spirit she is. I'm not entirely ruling out Shadow Dragons though.
