was watching my friend do the merrill romance last night and got really inspired! felt like drawing some merrihawke today.

at this point it's practically canon that hawke lovingly embraces all of her little friends, but I would say that if varric didn't exist, merrill would be the one hawke ended up with in the end.

leliana/cassandra to paraphrase someone else ‘what if the left and right hands of the divine clasped’ hardened leli because i refuse any other characterization. disillusioned lesbian is so tragic and True for leliana i’m afraid. at the start of inqusition leliana and cassandra are both at different points of their faith and i think them clashing (and kissing) about it would be a fun read. i also think some sort of bard!leliana au where they’re younger and stupider would hit as well. a manipulative leliana and easily manipulated cassandra. toxic yuri anyone?

merrill/josephine. i have a vision that i don’t fully comprehend yet. i don’t think anyone can. it’s too big brained. something something a very blunt and curious visiting eluvian expert merrill comes in contact with the ambassador. josephine set up her visiting skyhold and lowkey flirted with merrill in her letters to persuade her to come. merrill gets there and is very direct in her affection but a slightly clueless josie doesn’t realize. shenanigan and surprisingly kinky (i know what you are merrill) sex ensues.

Jayne Hawke, my Champion of Kirkwall. She hides her self doubt behind a wall of sarcasm. Only her sister Bethany gets to see the real, sincere her. That is, until Jayne met Merrill.

Jayne, Merrill, and Isabela are all romantically involved. Fenris is like her brother that she lost.

She sacrificed herself in the fade, but I call the top image "POV: Jayne just fought and clawed her way out of the Fade with Merrill's help and you just told her Meredith is back before she even got the chance to kiss her wife."

CONFESSION:

I love Isabela and Merrill so much that I could not make up my mind so in my mind alone (Its not my intention to force people to accept this headcanon) I like to think my f!hawke is in a wonderfully peaceful and happy ship with them. Isabela still sails the seas on her ship but she always comes home to the women she loves. They each have their own interests and such but they support each other and always come home to each other as well as take the occasional trip together.

Merrill Headcanon

I personally think the reason why Merrill‘s outfit switches from dark green to silvery white during her romance is because of her newfound confidence and sense of self. In the beginning, she’s nervous and clearly has a fairly low view of herself. Her friend Tamlen is dead, her other friend Theron is off with the Grey Wardens, Marethari sees her as a child and the rest of Clan Sabrae treats her with scorn. She wants to hide away, not be noticed or seen.

Then comes Marian Hawke, a human who treats her with warmth and respect. She supports Merrill in a way that she hasn’t had since before the Blight. She even helps Merrill in repairing the Eluvian, trusting that Merrill knows what she’s doing. After they realize their love for each other, Merrill wants to be seen. The finery of her romance outfit, while still in the Dalish style, draws your eyes to her with its brightness. She’s happy, confident, and is no longer alone in the world.

She has no reason to hide anymore.
