Mermaids and mermen were the stuff of fiction, there was no way the creature lying sprawled on the sand before you could be real.

Seeming to sense your presence, his head lifted. A pale hand stretched out towards you. “Please…” the desperation was clear in his voice. “Help me.”

Letting out a low growl of frustration, Shin lay back, floating so he could watch more stars flicker into existence above him. He was getting very very sick of waiting—somehow the closer he got to his goal, the more he itched with impatience.

Truthfully, he couldn’t say exactly how long he’d waited for a chance to leave the lagoon. His sleep in it’s depths had been deep and dreamless and so it had been with some confusion that he’d woken to the scent of human blood in the water around him—your blood.

It was the moments of pleasure that had broken him in the end. Shin didn’t know how long he’d been in your dungeons for, parts of him being stripped away through pain and humiliation, exposing something vulnerable and raw.

At some point, the touches from you, the occasional praise, had stopped feeling like acid was being poured on his skin and had become more like a balm, a break from the pain of loosing his pride. And eventually, he’d given himself over to you, admitting that even sitting at your feet was better than being left alone in the dark to be eaten alive by shame and misery.

My OC for the story I was having a hard time coming up with a name or specific look for her, so I was thinking maybe she could just be nameless or a self insert like Y/N L/N but I'm still deciding...

I have noticed that the boys have been written more fluffy in recent years and don't get me wrong I love it but sometimes I do wish there was a little bit more content focusing on their more darker side so if your looking for more DL fanfiction like that @jardinsdeminuit has a wonderful one shot selection of fics on their ao3

My personal favourite was "Shackled" 🤭

"The Switch" by Rinster is truly one of the best DL fanfiction I have ever read. The story telling, the boy characterization, the fact that it's choices based, meaning your actions can have consequences it's still ongoing, but so far it has 74 chapters, which should be plenty for now!

If you're looking for art that really captures the mood of the different routes, @ausd has amazing art that captures that chilling feeling, especially laitos route mmm CHEFS KISS everytime I look at their art it's just!

If you want some analysis that'll make you cry read "The Fall of Yui Komori: A Partial Analysis of Laito’s HDB Route" by @everything-laito I swear after reading this I needed to put my phone down and take a breath of fresh air it definitely gave me a new found perspective on just how strong Yui it's just so good.

@carlatsukinamistolemyhamsandwich also makes analysis, but her fanfictions MWAH they capture Shin sadistic side perfectly my personal favourite is Siren’s Call (Siren!Shin x Reader One Shot) (this one is not a shin fic but it's my guilty pleasure Bathtub Merman - Merman!Azusa Mukami x Reader One Shot you can tell I have a thing for under water creatures)

More Inazuma Eleven Genshin AU aka more of me sharing stuff without sense but a lot of passion >3<

Random headcanons with no order, no cohesion, just whatever my mind throws in the table about this, let's go!

Keep in mind we don't have all the regions yet nor lore about other races that may come with Natlan and Snezhnaya in the future.

Mainly about the Go! series because it has grown on me over time

I already said Hakuryuu being a dragon could work because both Zhongli and Neuvilette are dragons. However, both of them are centuries old, so maybe Hakuryuu is just a half-dragon just like how Yanfei is half-adeptus.

Speaking of dragons, Someoka probably would be one just like Neuvilette and Zhongli. But I feel he'd be from either Inazuma or Fontaine.

Tenma is from Mondstadt and that's about it. It's the "city of freedom" after all, it matches him.

Hikaru Kageyama has a bit of Khaenri'ahn ancestry from his uncle Reiji's side.

There are various characters that confirm yokai exist and are a race on their own (since Kirara and Sucrose don't have the same cat genetics, because Kirara is a nekomata). This has to do with the following ideas...

Mahoro and Amagi are both part-oni. Blue and Crimson respectively, following something similar to what happens between Itto and Takuya.

Kariya is either a kitsune or if we're keeping the Scaramouche parallelisms, a puppet.

The latter is even better if you think about the comparison I made between Raiden and Hiroto/Tatsuya back when I mentioned this AU.

For those who need context: Raiden created Kunikizushi/Scaramouche. He refers to her as his "mother". I'll not mention much more drama about them because that's as much as you need to understand about how I'm linking them.

This would also imply Hiroto became an Archon at some point?? But we don't need to follow the main events of Genshin word by word

But not all Gods of Teyvat are Archons (Guizhong, Nabu Malikata and so on) so no one says Tatsuya couldn't be a God himself, and just like Guizhong he was exceptionally crafty. Or ascended to Godhood somehow. But I've only heard about ascending to Archon-hood so I don't know about this really.

For the sake of the EiMiko reference, Midorikawa could also be a kitsune.

Tachimukai is like Gorou, he's half-dog. I'm totally biased and just think he deserves to be petted.

I don't know any water-like races. People usually think Kokomi is usually a sea dragon of sorts but she mentioned she's a human (Secret Summer Paradise event). Oceanids are spoiler territory but they don't matter much considering what happens in Fontaine with the Primordial Sea and the prophecy. Until Sigewinne releases, I won't comment on human-looking and/or half-human Melusines.

I mention this just to say that...I want to give Tsunami a water based species, but I'm not sure.

I could also ignore all canon content, go with the fandom's flow (I love Mermaid Kokomi even if it's not canon) and make the Merman Tsunami real in this AU, or just give him mermaid ancestry somehow >.<

I would make him have ancestry in Enkanomiya but I don't think he fits in Inazuma

Kurama's hissatsu, Sidewinder, is the only reason I have to back me up on putting him as one of King Deshret's descendants and part of the Eremites.

I feel like Hayami would either be a student from the Akademiya like Layla, or part of the alchemists from the Knights of Favonius like Sucrose.

Sangoku is half-adeptus, but I don't know which specific illuminated beast he could be. Maybe a xiezhi just like Yanfei.

Ghosts and spirits exist canonically (see Wuwang Hill, Tsurumi Island and Hu Tao's quest) so Shuu can also be here. However I feel a bit bad just leaving him as a ghost once again.

He could also be a pure-blooded illuminated beast (like Cloud Retainer/Xianyun). Assuming most if not all illuminated beasts are based on Chinese or Buddhist myths (though Xiao is implied to be based on a Hindu demigod too), Shuu could be one that hasn't yet been mentioned canonically.

But this is just me trying to give him a bit more of physical relevance, his story and what happened to his sister actually align a lot better with Tsurumi Island's lore.

By this logic, Shuu just like Ruu, could have been from the Thunderbird Civilization.

I'd also add Qiqi being was resurrected by the adepti as a zombie. Shuu being an undead just like her makes sense to me but I feel a bit too cruel if I decide to just put him as one.

These are just very few headcanons, not all of them are definitive but I'm always open to talk about it in my asks, because that way I can also archive whatever comes to my mind and tag it under the Inazuma Eleven Genshin AU to keep better track of it n.n

Yuriko never moved to the Kaminashi City but her father took her to a small town near the ocean shore

She lived as a regular girl without knowing about her background, missing her mother but never finding out about her brother

One day Shuu was washed on the ocean shore because he had been sleeping in a wrong place

He felt too lazy to do anything about it, so he just ended up lying on the sand, finally falling asleep

That day Yuriko walked to the shore after school, wandering straight to him by accident

She was astonished when she saw this young man with a fishtail sleeping on the sand

She felt worried, so she hurried to him

Shuu couldn’t care less about Yuriko’s worries but she stuck with him and read a book for him until he finally decided to drag himself back to the ocean

Ever since Yuriko started to visit the shore every day but she didn’t see Shuu

Yet she kept sitting on a rock and reading books out loud to the ocean

One day she was sick and didn’t come, she stayed away for a whole week

When she finally came back, she found Shuu on the shore again

He didn’t admit it but he missed her reading

From then on they met there every day until Yuriko finished her school

She should have moved to a bigger city for further studies but Shuu asked her to come with him under the sea

They found a witch who turned Yuriko into a mermaid

And they lived happily ever after

Since nishikis kagune already looks like a fish tail. Mermaid AU? Or more so merman AU.

Nishiki’s kagune just does things to me no matter what it looks like. BUT I do love the idea of a mermaid AU, but more of a merman AU. I like the idea of there being a variety of “merfolk”…some have your typical mermaid tail (oh, maybe flowy like butterfly koi tail) and Kaneki would have that in black and red. Others like Shuu could have a tail much like a shark, and Nishiki’s is very thin and long (snake-like). Kaneki is a merman from royalty, Shuu is part of the guard, and Nishiki is considered a serpent of the sea! Rize could be a mermaid with lionfish-like tail and she’s also of royalty. Hinami is a mermaid who has wispy tail and has been adopted into Kaneki’s family (Ayato is human and ends up falling for her). Now depending on the mood this could go Touken or Nishitou…both would happen under very different circumstances with two very different goals…

Shuu stared at the being before him. It was a person, yes. It looked very person-like, and it spoke like a person too. English though, which was a bother.

More importantly, though, it had a fishtail. It was a mermaid. The things that were definitely, certainly, without a doubt, not supposed to exist. But here was this abomination, extremely real, right at his feet. And not even anywhere near water.

He took a moment to think over the situation. Best case scenario was that this was a dream. He didn’t think he was dreaming - everything seemed very real before this - but who knows. The worst case scenario was that he needed to check himself into a mental hospital, so he was willing to be optimistic.

How to respond, though? Well... he had no earthly idea. So he just did what came naturally and talked back, even though it took him a few moments to translate between Japanese and English in his head. “Uhh... I don’t know, what do you need?”

Merman shuu hcs?

I would say he is the closest you can get to the original stories of merfolk, mainly the whole luring people to their death.

He enjoys singing to lure people towards the waters before dragging them down and beginning to devour them while still alive. He finds that eating them while they're still alive holds an extra flavour and freshness to it.

His scales hold the same colour as his kagune, with a range of different shades of purple. His fins are also quite large but he uses it to his advantage when he can. Be it disorienting an enemy or trying to be himself, dramatically.

His scales also have a reflective light reaction, where they appear to change colours in a hypnotic way. He also uses this to try and lure other merfolk to him so he can devour them.
