💙🪲🧜🏽‍♂️Merman!Jaime is super curious about humans. Ever since he was a tiny little fry he has wondered about the creatures that walk on land. As a little boy he asked a lot of questions which got him in trouble more times then not. He just couldn't help himself. He wanted to know everything he could about them.

💙🪲🧜🏽‍♂️He collects a lot of stuff he finds floating on the surface or buried on the ocean floor. He spends hours searching for new things. He even makes a fancy bag to carry around with him. He stuff a it full with anything he can find that seems even remotely interesting. Looking at everything he finds in wonder each and every time. Most of the time it's just junk, but it's his junk at the end of the day.

💙🪲🧜🏽‍♂️All of the objects he finds he takes back to his own little hideout. His parents and sister have no idea it even exists. Keeping it to himself so they won't come and destroy of of it. Like most mer parents they don't like the idea of him being around humans, let alone taking things from them. The idea of him searching and keeping that kind of stuff makes them freak out. They are extremely against him going out looking for human artifacts as they call them. So he does it in secret.

💙🪲🧜🏽‍♂️The beach is always fascinating to him. Poking his head out of the water just a little during the daytime. Hundreds of humans swarm the beach, playing in the water. Watching their behavior is so interesting. He can't help but watch them interact with each other before diving back down. On occasion, he will peer at boats. Fishing boats and yachts are very common to come by. Watching fishermen and rich people is a treat for the young merman. Watching hard at work-humans haul up huge nets of fish. The rich people drink on their too-big-to-be-real yachts. So many questions he wants to ask.

💙🪲🧜🏽‍♂️He really wants to get closer to the beach but he knows that would be a death sentence. There is no way he could get any wear close to the shore during broad daylight. So he tries to find another way to do it. Other ways to get around going to the beach during the day to spy on the humans.

💙🪲🧜🏽‍♂️Thats how he figures on going to the beach during the night time, especially during the summer. Besides the occasional wacko or a couple of drunk teenagers, he can look all he wants to at night. He's free to bob along the surface of the water all he likes. No one is looking for anything out in the water at night. During the summer he watches people his own age on the beach. Watching as they throw summer parties, dance, drink laugh. Sometimes they get too drunk and skinny dip in the water. He admits to watching them do that every once in a while. He just wants to make sure none of them….you know…drown?

💙🪲🧜🏽‍♂️Some nights he moon baths on the rocks on the more private side of the beach. When there are no loose teenagers or parties going on of course. He just likes time to himself away from his parents, but still out of the water. Somewhere he knows they will never go. Seeing as they are too scared to go to the surface themselves. He does a lot of reflecting on those nights as he stares at the empty beach.

💙🪲🧜🏽‍♂️He would die before telling any of his family about the fact he saves humans from time to time. When he's on the surface, he can't help but keep an eye out. Over a long period of time, he saved a lot of people from drowning and dangerous situations in general. Not to mention a lot of shipwrecks that happened from time to time in the area. Luckily for him, he's never been caught saving anyone. That would be a disaster.

💙🪲🧜🏽‍♂️He’s awkward but flirts with a lot of the mermaids in his area. He gets embarrassed though because he has yet to actually meet the right one. His sister jokes about it a lot, saying he will probably fall for a human. His parents hate that joke so much. But after his first matting season with no mate, he starts to think she might be on to something. All of the mermaids he knows or has come across are nice, but he doesn't feel a deep attraction to them. Not like how he feels looking at some of what he believes to be human females. Maybe he really does only have feelings for humans.

💙🪲🧜🏽‍♂️ Fully admits to wanting a whole cluster/school of fry when he gets older. He's set on having at least one, but everyone else thinks otherwise. His parents are betting that he will have one every single matting season when he finds the right one.
