Star Wars Pirates of the Carribean AU ideas:

-Phasma is the leader (some may say a pirate queen) of a pirate gang known as the Scyre, with the flagship of their fleet being called the Nautilus. They hail from the lands of Parnassos, on the coast of Scandinavia, (Don't ask what a bunch of Scandinavians are doing in the Carribean).

-The Scyre are also mer-people, because why not? Phasma has the most powerful singing voice among them, and can summon powerful storms, and manipulate the weather and ocean currents to be more favorable (or unfavorable) with her voice alone.

-Phasma and her niece, Frey, were once captured by the First Order Trading Company, and forced to work for them as privateers by Brendol Hux.

-Armitage Hux was once a general working with the First Order Trading Company, but later went AWOL to sail with Phasma and her crew after they assassinated Hux's father.

-Specifically, Phasma used her siren-voice to trick Brendol into drinking a poison that would guarantee a slow and painful death.

-Hux and Phasma eventually enter into a relationship, even though Phasma's brother Keldo doesn't approve at first (he warms up to him, don't worry). (Also yes, I am Gingerchrome trash)

-On occasion, the two of them will ally with another pirate gang, the Resistance, and the crew of the legendary Millenium Falcon, crewed by Finn, a former First Order Trading Company soldier, Poe Dameron, the best sailor of his generation, Rose Tico, the weaponsmith and repair person, Zorii Bliss, a former spice trader (whether that means regular spices or drugs, I'll leave up to you), and many others. The Millenium Falcon is captained by none other than Ben Solo, son of the legendary Han Solo.

-Rey is the granddaughter of Governor Palpatine, who, like in the movies, is an evil manipulative SOB (sorry, that's insulting. To his mother). To escape from her grandfather's manipulation and evil doings, she joins the crew of the Millenium Falcon, and becomes Ben's first-mate and later lover (because I am also Reylo trash).

-General Leia is there too, but running things in the background. Same with Luke and Han, who are now retired.

-Idk if there's an equivalent to the Force in this AU.

-Padme makes them all clothes, so they look ✨️FABULOUS✨️ even when kicking butt.

-Ben Solo is also the grandson of the even more legendary Anakin Skywalker, the greatest pirate to ever sail the high seas, and named after Obi-Wan 'Ben' Kenobi, Anakin's first mate and best friend.

-Anakin was at one point manipulated into joining the Imperial Trading Company (precursor to the First Order Trading Company) by Palpatine, but later managed to get out.

Uh, yeah, I think that's it.

Phasma pursed her lips. She could not say that the unfortunate merman could already turn into fish food to this moment - the ocean is cruel. Not after all those endless speeches from Kylo. It would break him.

"We agreed that I would return in a year and I returned."

"I don't think he had a calendar."

"Serifs?"

"Mermaids can count?"

Kylo nodded.

"We'll wait for him here."

Some Scyre Clan headcanons because I'm making a mermaid/siren AU and they're on the mind.

-Gosta was only 14 in the book but I headcanon that she's lesbian, and had a bit of a crush on Elli, aka LE-2003, one of Brendol's stormtroopers who crashed with him on Parnassos. Elli's Wookiepedia page also says Gosta "had taken a shine" to her, so...

-Idk how old Elli was in the Phasma novel, but for the sake of this headcanon I'm gonna say she's late-ish teens, (Probably 16 or 17), old enough that it makes sense for her to be a fully-fledged stormtrooper (if she graduated early, maybe? Idk), but not so old that it'd be weird.

-Also the Scyre isn't at all homophobic, they'd just be worried about how they'd have kids, because they had so few and it was so hard for them to have them. But yeah, they'd be 100% supportive because they may have had a population crisis, but they aren't savages.

-In a pride-month headcanon post, I mentioned Phasma is demi aroace, and that she has only ever been attracted to one person, everyone's favorite ginger general, Armitage Hux (not to be confused with his father, everyone's LEAST favorite ginger general, Brendol Hux).

-I also headcanon her brother Keldo as somewhere on the ace and/or aro spectrums. Not exactly sure where tho.

-Torben can pick everyone up, even Phasma. He also gives amazing hugs.

-Despite being the serious one, Keldo likes pulling pranks involving his prosthetic leg (i.e. he pretends to freak out when his leg gets 'cut off').

-For some reason whenever I read the Phasma novel I would imagine Siv wearing a flower crown, even tho there weren't any flowers in the Scyre territory. Maybe it's because she was the clan's medic? Idk, but she seems like the type to wear flower crowns.

-Keldo is overprotective of Phasma, and is kinda standoffish to Hux at first, because he's worried he's more like his dad than he actually is. But he warms up to him after a bit.

-Also I think it would be super cool if in an AU where Hux joined the Scyre, he had a celtic aesthetic. Celtic and viking cultures are/were very similar, and because he's space-irish, it makes sense.

-Great, now I've gotta draw that. Add it to the pile I guess :P

-This isn't even a headcanon, it's just regular canon, but Carr is an absolute goofball. Probably likes puns.

Ben plucked the crab hat from Gwen's seashell purse with his thumb and index finger, holding it to his dejectedly untanned face. He stared at it for a moment or two as if it were a real, dead crab, reeking of low tide. Though black-off Wayfarer shades shielded his eyes, the kink in his brow clearly expressed his dismay. 

"You're joking," he grumbled, knowing, deeply knowing, she was not joking. "This is the crab hat? This is..." 

He waved it around, and Ben caught Gwen's mild yet smoky titter despite the noise coming from every corner of the Coney Island boardwalk; the bike tires bumping over wooden planks, the maracas, the horns, the squealing mermaids, the bearded mermaids, the boricua mermaids, the bedazzled, wizened mermaids of yore, the ocean booming nearby. Sirens, all of them.

"I think this might, uh. This is definitely a bathing cap. But what the fuck. Why not?"

Slipping off his beanie and unceremoniously shoving it into his back pocket, Ben wrestled the red latex cap with the googly eyes and wiry legs onto his head, despite himself. With a new friend came the rare chance to be somebody else.

"I am Crab Man," Ben declared. He could feel his hair curling around his face, the latex pressing his sunglass hinges into his temples. "Maybe I've always been Crab Man. Today's the day I choose to be true to myself. I, Crab Man."

He looked at Gwen in her ocean's ombre, the teal top that evanished into the silver scales of a fishtail maxi skirt embellished with white coral accents and pearl. She possessed a secret smile, one that never belied her thoughts.

"Have you always been a mermaid?"

has lured countless men to their deaths when they’ve least suspected it since they’re under the guise that she’s just some beautiful mermaid 

spends weeks fashioning their armor into her own so it can fit her

she feels more comfortable in that than leaving herself half bare

loves you all the more for helping her with it

finds a cape, loves it, but it doesn’t really work too well in the ocean so she just wears it when she’s sunbathing with you

never says much, but fierce and smart. observatory, if you will

she’s quiet with you, too, but it’s a comfortable silence that she cherishes greatly 

only lets you see her without all the armor on since you’re one of the very few she actually trusts 

unashamedly lesbian 

if there’s anything she knows about mermen it’s that they’re even more vain than mermaids

if there’s anything about human men it’s that they’re a chore and very foolish (which is good for her to steal what she wants from them after luring them to their deaths)

women are strong, though, whether they be mermaids or humans, and she admires that
