What do you think of the recent restoration of the cabinet de la meridienne, and the new color scheme of the textiles (pink instead of duck egg blue)??

I love it. It's actually lilac (it looked pink to me too but under less harsh lighting, the lilac comes through!) and I think overall it was a very thoughtful restoration that took into consideration Marie Antoinette's tastes, which I think is what they need to be doing when restoring these private spaces for historical figures.

(Aka, yes I'm still unbelievably bitter about the decisions made for the Queen's House restoration and I think that the chateau de Versailles group itself regrets it based on their reversal of similar plans for restoring hameau buildings to known Third Empire states.)

Anyway, here are some of the samples that they analyzed in order to bring back the last color scheme and aesthetic of the room:

I think it's neat that they restored it to the last version that Marie Antoinette would have lived in, and the last version that she had commissioned based on her current tastes.
