Could you please do a part 2 for the Meredith Grey imagine you just did? Like where she wakes up or something
Tumblr media
ᕚ---ᕘ
Your body was a single throbbing pain, every little movement made you moan as you regained consciousness. A rhythmic sound beeped in your ears, racking your brain that felt heavy while a soft and quiet voice pushed itself to the forefront of your senses. "Hey, there you are again"
"M-mer, what happened?" you groaned. Colorful circles danced in front of your tired eyes, mixing with the blurred reality and you only dimly perceived what was happening around you. Your whole body hurt, your arm burned like hell.
The addressed petite figure with waved, dark blonde hair appeared in front of the gleaming background of the room in which you were laying in. Her hand gently laid over your shoulder joint and massaged it with soft, circular movements before she began to mumble the answer in a worried but relieved voice. "You were in an accident,"
Only slowly did the image before your eyes clear, composing into a reasonable view and separated the woman in front of you from the bright light. Your view immediately wandered to her face, whose lips wore a slight smile while her eyes showed radiant fear and tears that were accumulating.
"I am glad you are okay," Meredith Grey continued, catching a clearing breath as she played with a fold of the blanket that completely encased your body. Meredith's features slipped into fear and sadness at that moment. Her entire presence seemed different, her inexplicable inner storm clearly palpable even at this distance. "I do not know what I would do without you"
The blonde's heart was pounding against her chest, blood was rushing in her ears and she was breaking out of her paralysis. Getting up from the cold chair, she stalked back and forth around the room. The cold light filled the white walls with a surreality that made her heart beat even faster. With every second that passed, the memory of the blood, of the silence of your limbs, and the noise of the emergency room and around you, stabbed her soul, burrowing deeper into her consciousness each time.
One horror scene after another ran through Meredith's head and the uncertainty about whether she would ever be able to confess her feelings to you burned painfully in her chest. You do not have to think about that anymore. I am here, I am feeling-"
"I love you."
An incredibly biting silence fell over the room as your mind tried to process the words she had said, "Why now?" you asked the throbbing question in a whisper, looking at her quizzically. Meredith laughed briefly, a rather strenuous and confusing laugh that did not fit the situation at all, but seemed to be normal for her whenever she was nervous. "Because I am a complete idiot,"
The blonde kept running her hand over her face. She sighed, breathed heavily and only now realized how incredibly high her pulse really was. As she looked at you, looking into your empty, aching eyes, your pupils wide dilated from the painkillers, she was overcome with fear again. You, on the other hand, looked at her, waiting for a correct answer.
"I only realized my feelings for you when I almost lost you to death and that is completely stupid. I should have decided on you before, confessed my love before."
She spoke carefully and you gestured to the chair that was next to your bed. But Meredith would have preferred not to sit down for fear of having screwed everything up. "Please, sit down," you looked into her eyes, clearing your throat a little to emphasize your request. Her palms were sweating and she wanted to leave the room, it was becoming so incredibly stuffy and in her eyes it was starting to get smaller in her sight while her chest was tightening.
The blonde did not look in silence, did not know what to say. "You are good at helping people, but when it comes to things like love, you are a total failure," you spoke carefully and she looked at you in surprise. She smiled nervously, frightened by the ongoing conversation she was having.
"Do you know how much it hurts to see another man raving about the woman you have been in love with since the beginning of your residency? Do you know how much it hurts when the person you love does not know who she should vote because she can not handle her feelings?"
"No. No, I do not know how it feels like," Meredith stammered and looked down again. She wanted to say something useful, but no words came out of her mouth. Instead, she still had to digest the fact that she had hurt your feelings immensely. She looked up, looked into your eyes, which now had a bit more shine, and let out a loud sigh. The blonde wiped tears from her face with one hand and was about to stand up when she felt someone grab her wrist.
"Do not run away, you do not know what I am trying to tell you." you spoke to her gently. Your eyes sparkled like never before and you had a serious expression on your face. The woman in front of you looking at you questioningly. "Even though you hurt me in all the moments and broke my heart into pieces each time, a part of it never stopped loving you."
Meredith had fallen silent, as she had so often this hour. You loved her, and that was enough to put a smile on her face despite the stained tears on her cheeks. Without saying anything, she leaned in and placed her lips gently on yours.
You returned the kiss immediately, wrapping your arms around her torso while hers rested carefully on your chest as the two of you kissed. You both felt the tingle and sparks sprout before you pulled away from each other and looked into each other's eyes, grinning over both ears.
Her fingers reached over your hair, gently stroking over some strands. "I am sorry for hurting you so many times. But I will never do it again, Y/n l/n. I love you and I always will."

Hi, can you do a meredith grey x reader where meredith can’t decide who to pick between reader and Derek. Then she makes her decision once she sees her come into the hospital after she get injured? Please?
Tumblr media
...
Decisions are made every day.
Important and unimportant, big or small. Everyone makes countless decisions every day. Choices affect our daily lives, but most do not have the strength or power to fundamentally change our lives.
Most of the decisions are too mundane to draw much attention to themselves, but some feel like a rockfall, tearing up at every hill and forming a spider´s web across the entire windshield. So also the important decision about love, in which Meredith Grey stood between two of her co-workers and did not know what to do.
She knew that love is an extremely sensitive construct and playing with it can lead to catastrophic consequences, the balance between colleagues at a workplace could be disturbed and any conscious intervention or change should therefore be carefully considered.
But how should she think about the consequences of this important step if she could not even decide between Derek and you in the first place?
"Grey!" the chief of surgery seemed in high spirits as she snuck up on the blonde. Meredith tried to mimic the sympathetic smile of her as best she could, but it did not look very convincing. "Why are you making that face? Do you not have work to do?"
"Bailey," she grunted out between clenched teeth, giving her a slanted but fixed look, which met up with a skeptical one. Sighing, the black-haired rolled her eyes in frustration and sat down on the couch next to the younger surgeon. "What is bothering you?"
The addressee shrugged and concentrated herself on a single floor tile. The corners of her mouth painfully clenched, automatically drooped as she leaned back on the sofa and took a deep breath.
There had to be a way of finding out who she loved more.
What Meredith could decide, though, was whether to let Miranda Bailey in on it. She could be some help to her. Or a tripwire that ultimately put her on the wrong track. The blonde pondered about it for a moment before beginning her cryptic narrative. "Two people. You have to choose one and hurt the other, risking that nothing will be the same ever again. Who do you choose?"
"When you get up in the morning, who do you think of first? Who do you want to write or see first?" the young blonde heard her boss ask, hearing seriousness and conviction in her soft voice. "Who makes you happy? Who makes your heart beat faster?"
Instantly, she felt every fiber of her body automatically screaming for you, forming your name in every synapse of her brain. Tiny memories of your time together surfaced like pictures in front of her inner eye and melted with feelings of pure love.
"Y/n," she spoke deliberately calmly and Bailey gave her a questionable look before her lips curled into a smile. Meredith´s eyes reflected happiness and she had to admit that only the briefest of advice from Miranda Bailey got her on.
She was really good. Better than good, indescribable.
The young surgeon quickly jumped up from her seat, looked confused for her cell phone that had fallen between the cracks of the sofa and halfway ran out of the door. "Grab her before it is too late," she heard Bailey emphasize again. Her voice was so familiar and yet she was absolutely right. Meredith loved you. Worse, she longed for you.
Only after you.
Meredith Grey could not help but grin all the way down to the emergency room at the thought of you while she tried to reach you on your cell phone. But she was thrown strictly to the mailbox.
It surprised her, after all you were always available. Especially when you were at work. Then why was your phone turned off? The blonde would have understood if you wanted to have your rest after a night shift, but you only had a lunch break.
She looked through the opening elevator doors and immediately chaos broke out in front of her. Nurses ran around like they were bitten by a tarantula, including three of her friends who almost knocked her over while stepping out of the elevator. "What the.."
It is L/n!" Merediths hands kept shaking and she could not really understand the next words. Something about you and that she should be there. She dropped her cell phone as she ran and rushed to the trauma room. In the time she hastily walked through the corridor, the world stood still.
She could not breathe while hoping that the scenarios that suddenly appeared in her mind would never come true.
"What the hell happened?" Meredith yelled between chaotic conversations and the tension, that Keppner, Pierce and Hunt were building around your bloodied body as she walked through the doorway.
Everything was going wild in the shock room. Nurses ran back and forth, delivering the supplied and an ultrasound to the attending physicians that they so desperately needed to determine the nature and severity of your injuries.
"Y/n was hit by a motorist who missed a red light. Suspected traumatic brain injury. Strong, rapidly forming hematomas all over their body, fractured right arm and suspected pelvic fracture," explained April through staging breaths before continuing. "They collapsed shortly before arrival, Pierce is doing resuscitation"
In unison, the four doctors looked at the monitor to which you were connected by cables and waited for a sinus rhythm that should exchange the flat line. Hunt, meanwhile, had your head tilted back and was trying to insert the tube through your larynx into your trachea to take over the ventilation. "Tubus is inside. We move them on three. One, two.. three,"
They set you down on the hospital bed provided for you, Pierce immediately began to resume chest compressions. Meredith had only now fully realized whose life was at stake and who her friends were fighting for.
But she could not contribute. Her body was paralyzed and her life-saving skills completely thrown overboard. She looked at your face like a heap of misery and was startled. Big tears rolled down her cheeks. Completely silent but totally desperate.
A rush of adrenaline hit her all of a sudden and she blinked back the tears that were appearing. She quickly jumped to the end of the bed and held your ankles tightly in her hands. The blonde had to touch you, but your otherwise warm skin was chilled under her fingertips.
"Stabilization and then straight to the CT with her, Shepherd is already waiting" Owen gave running instructions and pumped another dose of medication through your veins to hopefully get your circulation going. This quickly had its effect; electrical impulses showed up as current fluctuations in the curves of the line and relief flowed through the room.
"Weak sinus frequency but we can work with that," April stated and breathed a sigh of relief while wiping the beads of sweat from her forehead.
Meredith walked up to your naked torso, her hands gently falling on your messy and blood smeared hair, stroking it softly. She leaned forward, close to your face before whispering something into your ear. "I beg you, Y/n. Do not leave me alone," she begs your unconscious body while frantically stroking your wet hair.
She froze and lifted her eyes to meet the gazes of the people standing next to her. They urged her to go faster with prompting looks, but at the same time gave her the time she needed. A shudder ran over her body before continuing.
"I choose you, Y/n. Fight for us," she said calmly, watching as Owen carried you away on the stretcher.

Can I please request one where Lexi and Meredith have another younger sister and during a dangerous situation at the hospital can’t find her but then they get paged by Arizona/Callie that they found her and it isn’t looking good (make it as angsty as you want since you’re writing is absolutely insane and my favorite thing ever)
The orange light that shone from the ceiling of the hospital, the announcement that echoed through the corridors and rooms reflected a different panic than you could ever explain. The feeling of uncertainty mixed with the fear of doctors and patients was something that made their heart pound to its limits and hands tremble uncontrollable.
"Warning, code red. Evacuate the building."
A storm raged on the floors, people mingled in the smallest of space and it was impossible to see through the crowd that had formed within seconds. Everyone was looking for something specific; a person, a small child, a way out of this still imprecise situation. Like Lexie and Meredith, who were upset and desperate to find their younger sister.
The younger Grey was in her third year and usually assigned to Bailey, but she disappeared shortly before everything went down hill and no one knew even remotely where she was. Everyone involved only knew that she was nowhere to be found and didn't respond to her pagers or calls.
While the nurses, with the help of Bailey and Webber, escorted the patients to the exit and brought them to safety, Lexie, April, Mark & Jackson shared the first three floors while Meredith, Alex and Jo took the fourth and fifth floor.
They searched for the younger Grey in vain.
There was no sign of life from her younger sister. After several rings, your cell phone switched itself to the mailbox, messages didn't arrive, the pager didn't give a beeping signal to point her in the right direction; Lexie's desperate screams of your name went into the void.
"We don't have any more time, the smoke is thickening." Jackson realized between coughs as he turned back to the group and urged April toward the exit with a slight push on her shoulder. "We have to get out of here in order not to endanger our lives."
"I can't, she's still in here somewhere!" the brunette contradicted and squeezed between the two men to get further inside the hospital but Mark grabbed her with a precise grip and clasped her upper arm tightly. She looked at him perplexed and angry, tears of desperation were reflected in her eyes. "She's probably already outside. Let's go, Lex."
Her gaze switched between her boyfriend's face and the hospital corridor, which couldn't be recognized as one anymore, before she made the decision to break free from his grasp and look out for you again.
Lexie's feet didn't even walked a few inches when two arms wrapped around her waist and her soles were no longer touching the floor. Like a small child, she kicked in the arms of the gray-haired one who removed her further and further from the smoke and the starting fire on the corridor, trying to get away from his hold.
But without success.
The brunettes hoarse voice, suppressed by tears, screamed angry and desperate your name but went out in the gray and thick fog in front of her. She looked once more into the flames and closed her eyes.
Maybe Mark was right and you were already rewarded from this hellhole.
But when she fell on her knees in front of the hospital, coughing the smoke out of her lungs and scanning hundreds of faces, yours was nowhere to be seen. Tears of desperation ran down her cheeks and her fists hit the ground several times.
Lexie didn't even noticed how Meredith walked up to her and lifted her to her feet. The blonde's fingers sat on her chin and carefully turned the brunette's gaze towards her. "Lexie, it's okay." she whispered and her eyes were also filled with tears.
"No, I didn't find her!" she whimpered, disappointed in herself before she let her head fall on Merediths shoulder. But the older of the two pulled her back, a few inches further away, and looked her back in the eyes.
She also had tears that she struggled with and tried to swallow them. After all, she was the older one, she was responsible for you and Lexie, she had to be the strongest of all.
"Grey!" heard the blonde behind her between loud sirens and screams and her gaze turned away and scanned the area until she saw Bailey running towards her. With one hand she wiped the streaks of running liquid from her face and built her body up - straight and taunt.
"Torres and Robbins found her." said the smaller one out of breath when she came to a standstill in front of her and waved her pager in the air. "She is in terrible condition, they are going to get her out, but she needs help immediately."
---
When Callie got you out with Arizona and some other support from Hunt and Amelia, things didn't look good. You were hardly alive; your breathing could barely be seen or felt, your throat and lungs so burned that you could barely inhale any air - even the smallest tube for a normal person would not fit through without causing you internal damage to your vocal cords or otherwise.
Your heart beat irregulary and often skipped - due to the burn on almost 15% of your body, a close state of shock was no longer avoidable and it was about seconds that could either save or end your life.
Your blue jumpsuit was burned into your flesh and you could hardly be recognized anymore. Part of your face was burned, as well as the entire left side of your body. Apparently you were standing pretty close to the explosion when it went off.
That you even survived it was a miracle that none of the doctors around you could understand.
While Meredith was trying to stay strong and keep you awake, Lexie was overwhelmed with the whole situation and couldn't look at you. Even she had to be looked after in an ambulance - she was in a shock by all the stress and fear of a future without her little sister.
While the others struggled for your life with the things they had at their disposal, everyone waited impatiently for the helicopter with which they relocated you to a special clinic for burns.
But your heart stopped beating two minutes before it landed.

Amelias little sisters abusive ex shows up at the hospital.
A/N: I posted an Alternative to this request below this one because I had two ideas to this. Hope you like them ♥
---
You had the first half of your working day successfully behind you. After three patients who were admitted to the emergency room because of a car accident and one whom you performed an emergency operation that took several hours you were now hoping for a great lunch with your friends that you really deserved.
"Did the man survive?" asked Amelia both, Meredith and you, while you both walked down the stairs with your lunch and she joined you. The blonde and you managed to stabilize him and repair the injuries, but they were critical; he just had to wake up and get through the next 24 hours. "Barely. Bowel was perforated, spleen was ruptured and a broken rib pierced his lungs. It was close, but he survived."
"Nice work, little sister!" she exclaimed while giving you a nudge in the other direction, smiling and proud. Thankfully Meredith cushioned your tumble with her own body and you walked further down the stairs laughing as you met Maggie, who also wanted to have lunch with you.
Together you walked outside and looked for a place in the warm sun.
While you were enjoying your lunch and chatting about all sorts of topics and current surgeries, you began to feel increasingly uncomfortable. It was like your body was reacting to something you hadn't realized yet. Almost paranoid, you turned around in all different directions and looked around, not without the others noticing.
"Y/N, are you okay?" Maggie muttered while she was still chewing on her food and you turned your head to her. Even when you tried to appear normal, your eyes and entire face spoke volumes.
In your eyes the shine had been exchanged for fear and your rosy complexion was suddenly very pale. Your lips no longer radiated a smile but rather a straight line and the others could see that you were nervously chewing on the inner surfaces of your cheeks. "I don't know."
Your gaze went around you once more as your eyes focused on a man standing by a tree, looking at you. Amelia trailed your gaze and got stuck on the guy as well. Her fork fell into the lettuce she had in front of her and her jaw dropped down. "Oh no," she uttered and immediately turned back to her sisters. "Maggie, take Y/N to the hospital right now and don't leave her side. Hurry up."
The black haired one looked questioningly between all three before she got up and put her hands on your shoulders to pull you away from where you stood. However, you shrugged your shoulders away, your gaze not deviating from him. "Sweetheart, come on."
"No, I won't go." you stuttered, already noticing the fear in your trembling voice.
"Y/N, you are leaving now. Immediately." Meredith now interfered and looked at you urgently, but you didn't buckle. You were fed up with running away. "No. I won't hide every time and especially not in my own territory. I am not afraid of him anymore."
He pushed himself out of his position and walked slowly in your direction while your eyes kept turning down to his hands. He had clenched them in fists, the knuckled were already turning white and your heart was starting to beat faster and more irregularly.
It was like a trauma response when suddenly ever single moment in which he had hurt you shot through your head. It was like a bad movie that you couldn't quit and that you had to watch until the end.
"Maggie, we're going to need help in a minute. Get the security." commanded Amelia in a harsh tone as Meredith and her set off in front of you; like a kind of protective wall to create enough space between him and you.
She knew how aggressive he was and therefore she also knew that with her anger she had built up for him over all these months, she couldn't get very far and make it even worse. He was a muscular guy with more weight on his ribs than the three of you put together. If she reacted wrongly now, he would hurt you again. And she wanted to prevent that.
"What are you looking for here?"
"Calm down, I just want to talk to your sister." He replied to the brunettes question as he cocked his head to one side, looking at you grinning.
You weren't sure about your decision to stay here anymore. You stood there, huddled and trembling, your arms crossed under your chest, your gaze blurred from all the tears that were gathering in your eyes. "Go," you whispered and winced when he moved even a little to the side. "I said go. Get out of my damn life and fuck off!"
Not only were you amazed at your strength to show him the cold shoulder but also the two woman who stood in front of you.
The only one who wasn't convinced was your ex boyfriend. He bit his lip and his eyes filled with exactly the same anger as then. His face turned blood red and you could already see the steam fume from his ears.
"What did you bitch say?" he snapped before he wanted to pounce on you. You let out a scream and turned away, hiding behind Meredith while the two tried to keep him away from you.
You were already waiting for the blows and the rumbling, but when you heard his screams and scolding further and further in the distance, you opened your eyes to see how he was carried away by the security men and how Bailey, Maggie and Hunt were already standing around you.
Relieved you fell on the street floor and let your feelings run free. While the others were shielding you from the unwanted audience, Amelia had joined you.
Her arms wrapped around your entire shaking figure and her chin rested on your head. With soothing and gentle touches on your back she gave you the signal that it was all over; like she did every time you had a bad day. You were in trance, your ears didn't perceive any sounds from your surroundings and you had absolutely no control over your body.
You were trapped in this like a prisoner in your own soul.
You whined, you winced and flinched, you cried and you hit her unintentionally. But she stood firm and still held you tight in her arms, not even thinking for a second about letting go or leaving you alone.
Her heart burned with pain and her body struggled with the infinite anger she had.
It wasn't easy and it wouldn't be anytime soon, old wounds had been torn open again, which she had patched up with great effort. She had to hold back her tears to be strong for you, even if it tore her inside but she was proud of you.

Chapter 2: The Rescue
Title: Still Holding On
Rating: T
Chapter summary: The Seattle six are waiting to be rescued.
Later that day (night time)
The Seattle six were stranded together with blood on their faces looking tired. Derek had joined them just after a couple of hours of Lexie’s rescue. Arizona was crushed under the plane but she was near the group.  All of a sudden Leixe cried out, “I am thirsty, I need water.”
Mark saw the despair on her face and said, “I know , we all are”.
Lexie got her hands and pushed to it through her hair and then suddenly she remembered she had packed a 64 oz hydro flask and snacks in her backpack. “ Oh my gosh, I just remembered I packed  some snacks and water in my backpack.  Meredith, do you think  you could grab it. It's the big black one with polka dots and a bunch of silver chains with a Lillo and Stitch plush charm”.
“Got it”, Meredith replied weakly. She passed it to Cristina who passed it to Mark. Mark propped the bag near him and Lexie. Lexie opened the zipper and pulled out the big stainless steel water bottle along with some granola bars, trail mix, chocolate and twinkies.”  It also appeared that she had brought some homemade bars.  She pulled out her hand sanitizer and a couple of plates and cups. She looked up and everyone was staring at her shocked.
“What”, she said.
“Nothing”, they replied.
Derek then asked, “ Lexie, why do you have so many snacks and a huge water bottle?”
“ well this morning I barely had breakfast, so I packed some snacks and some homemade bars I made last night. The reason I have a big water bottle is, because one I hate using plastic water bottles since they are bad for the environment and two I like to being a lot of water when I go on trips just in case of emergencies like this one”
“Um,  okay but when did you have time to make all of this?”
He was quickly cut off by Lexie’s voice who asked, “ Are you going to keep on asking questions or do you want something to eat?”
“Eat”, Derek replied.
“That's what I thought. “
“Anyways everybody put some hand sanitizer on and then you can eat.”
Mark had to pass out the hand sanitizer since Lexie was unable to. After everyone was done putting some hand sanitizer on . They each poured some water into the cups and drank it.
“Ahh, that feels refreshing” Cristina said in relief.
After everyone had drunk their water. They grabbed some snacks. Cristina and Meredith ate a granola bar while Mark , Arizona  and Derek munched on some trail mix. Lexie of course ate the Twinkies.
Mark pointed towards the clear blue Tupperware and asked Lexie “Hey , what are in those bars Lex”?
“Oh well, the ones with the green flakes on top are pistachio oat squares, the red one is strawberry rhubarb bars and the last one is peanut butter chocolate cookie bars.”
“Yummy”,  Arizona shouted. They all ate one of the homemade bars. They were delicious of course.
A few hours later after they had devoured the snacks they heard a siren. It was a helicopter. Help had finally arrived.   The paramedics quickly took everyone to the helicopter and they flew away to the Hospital in Boise.  When they arrived in Boise they were checked on. Unfortunately, the Boise hospital was incapable to help them so they were transferred to Seattle Grace where they would be taken well care of. It would be a long road to recovery, but at least for now they were okay.

Author's Note:
Welcome to Chapter 1 here, the story, the Meredith Grey/Addison Montgomery College Library AU that nobody asked for.
Also, I've never been to Hanover, or Dartmouth, and I think it's nice, actually. It's just the self-deprecating sentiment that everyone feels about their own College that I'm expressing here. About my own College. But this is really not about me at all...
Enjoy!

@bobbiejelly
Meredith Grey/Addison Montgomery: A Learning Library
Libraries. Textbooks. Inappropriate flirting & sarcasms. Also, Meredith Grey sucks at studying, Addison Montgomery helps.
Chapter 1: Hanover Is Some High-Key Bullshit
Hanover is where Dartmouth College is, if you didn't catch that part and were gonna look it up like I did the first time.
  Meredith Grey sucks at studying.
She knows she probably shouldn't, but she totally does and she hates it.
Meredith is THE ELLIS GREY'S DAUGHTER for chrissakes.
And she sucks at studying.
And she hates it.
Even though she really shouldn't.
So she's in the library now, the Dartmouth University library to be precise. She's doing her undergrad here or whatever and she's switching majors again because she sucks at studying again and she really shouldn't
Meredith knows she's a disappointment to her mother. And probably to her father even though she hasn't seen him (Thatcher Grey?) since she was five.
Meredith wishes she didn't have to have an imaginary question mark after her daddy's name like that but she's always sort-of wondered why Dr. Richard Webber's been over to her house more than her father has and she's had a sinking suspicion that he could have been actually her real dad.
So she has daddy issues. So she has mommy issues. So a lot of things...!
Ugh. Meredith Grey freaking hates studying.
She wants to be a doctor, but she's more interested in 'playing doctor,' (oops!), with every attractive person, guy or girl or otherwise, that seems to cross her path while she's shooting tequila at the campus bar.
Meredith Grey at 21-and-a-half feels strikingly liberated that she's allowed to drink legally now.
(I mean, not that she did before then. Jokes. She has since she was… Meredith doesn't want to admit that part even in her own head. Sorry, Ellis. Sorry, Thatcher. Sorry, Richard…).
So now Meredith is sitting in the library wishing she had some tequila or hot people or both even though this is a study hall and NOT a bar.
But she thinks that some people call College a place for 'experimentation,' and really now, Meredith likes experiments. Okay, she likes 'experimenting,'. With people. With her pants off. Not like, scientifically speaking.
Right.
Because Meredith sucks at Science, and sucks at Math, and sucks at English, and sucks at History, and doesn't speak French even though she sometimes pretends to.
(Mais non!).
And she's sort-of falling asleep on her textbook now because it's comfy and at least that parts good about this Gray's Anatomy textbook that literally costs more than her first month's rent here.
Bastards.
(The textbook companies, that is).
Meredith Grey might have had a really freakin' awesome nap, too.
She might have slept there so she could save up her energy for sleeping with people later that evening (people!? Yeah. people. Plural. Meredith Grey is the first person who might have called herself a whore, even if she'd never let other people call her that to her face. She has some standards, even if she'd jokingly say she's a slut and know she's not really being all that wrong).
"You can't sleep here," a voice deadpans.
But Meredith Grey, at 21, can't keep sleeping right freaking' here in the Dartmouth University Library in some high-key-bullshit Hanover because someone keeps waking her.
"You can't sleep here," a voice deadpans again.
And she's sort of upset about that until she looks up and she realizes she couldn't be at all more pleased…
"You can't sleep here," a voice deadpans for the third time.
This time, Meredith Grey acknowledges the super hot and tall and leggy and fabulous redheaded woman saying this to her sternly and she's as wide awake as she's ever been in her entire life.
"Sorry," Meredith mumbles, her head still resting on her pillow-erm-textbook.
"You don't have to apologize to me. I'm not working here. I just don't want you to get in trouble," says the voice. The very low and gravelly voice. The voice that makes Meredith's knees shake which she tries to hide under the table.
"Oh," says Meredith, suddenly confused as to why this enigmatic voice is now talking to her.
"They're really strict here about it. I've only been here for a month and I've been yelled at six times," says the voice. The very lusty voice. Which Meredith doesn't fail to notice (ever!).
"Wait, a month? It's November. Why are you only here in November?" Says Meredith.
"I'm on an exchange," the voice- well, the person with the nice voice- shrugs.
"Where are you from?" Meredith asks her.
"Connecticut," says the hot girl.
"Are you on an exchange from the University of Mansfield?" Asks Meredith.
"Oh, no. I go to Yale. I'm just here on exchange," says the person who is apparently from Connecticut but doesn't go to school in Connecticut.
"Why?" Meredith asks her, then realizes it's lame, then she can't take it back because the person starts answering her lame question.
"Because my brother goes there. And I didn't want to follow him. Because he's older and he never lets me forget that," says the woman who apparently is not an only-child like Meredith.
"I don't have any siblings," says Meredith. Then she realizes this is probably dismissive then she continues to cover herself up... "I get why you'd wanna go somewhere else though. So you can be the 'nice girl from somewhere else,' that's why I'm here at least. I'm following in my mother's shadow, so I'm running away from it. Or her. Or them?" Says Meredith with a quirk of her eyebrow at herself.
"Who's your mother?" The voice-person asks her and then takes it back.
"Who's your brother?" Meredith challenges her and the person backs down immediately.
"Are you gonna tell me about the six times you got yelled at in a library or are you not?" Meredith switches the subject.
"Are you gonna tell me why you're sleeping on Gray's Anatomy?" Asks the woman, pointing to her stupidly-expensive pillow/textbook.
"Depends," says Meredith.
"On what?" Says the pretty girl.
"On… A lot of things…" Meredith says cryptically.
"What? A lot of things?" Says the unknown person.
"Yeah, like don't you want to live your life not wishing you 'should have… a lot of things?' But that you didn't?" Says Meredith.
Meredith knows she's won when the woman drops her stern-looking facade and meets her own bright-blue eyes with her bright-green ones.
"Maybe?" She replies.
"Trust me. You wanna be a person who does and says 'a lot of things,' instead of regretting them," says Meredith.
"Trust you? Ha! I just met you!" Says the person who has really really really red lipstick Meredith just notices.
"Isn't College about learning a whole new lot of things?" Says Meredith, smirking without even taking her head off of her Gray's Anatomy.
"So you wanna teach me 'a whole lot of things,' and you're what? 23?" The mystery woman guesses.
"21. And a half. And besides, you look like you'd be the best sort of student," Meredith insinuates roughly because she doesn't reserve her flirtations for only the bar.
"You know I'm a TA right?" Says the random person who seems to be seductively biting her lips at her right now. She looks tempted. And that's more than enough for Meredith Grey to keep talking to her just like this.
"In what?" Asks Meredith sickly-sweetly.
"Biology," the person deadpans. "I want to research genetics," she says proudly.
"I can teach you about human anatomy," Meredith says with a very crooked smile.
"As you sleep on your Henry Gray textbook?" The person quips back with her own crooked smile that Meredith matches easily.
"What if I'd already memorized it?" Says Meredith boldly.
"Ha! You looked completely panicked ten minutes ago!" Says the person who now thinks that she's got the upper hand.
"Ha! You've been watching me since way longer than ten minutes ago!" Meredith smirks easily.
"You were falling asleep in a library and I just wanted to warn you about the bitter librarians. I was doing a public service announcement," says the woman who is clearly not new at all this.
"What do you care about me? You should hate me! I'm your rival university you know!" Says Meredith.
"I don't hate you," says the person who looks like she could actually like her more than she currently pretends to.
"You wanna show me just how much?" Meredith says forewardly.
"You do look like you could use a hand with that Chemistry lesson," says the person, now flirtatiously.
"Who are you?" Meredith finally questions.
"Dr. Montgomery," says the fiery-headed-woman.
"Are you already a Doctor?" Meredith smirks.
"Almost," says the Almost-Doctor Montgomery.
"I'm gonna be a doctor someday too," says Meredith, as she reaches out without moving up from her chair to feel the other woman's black fur coat.
"Are you now?" Says 'Dr. Montgomery.'
"Yeah-huh," says Meredith.
"Who are you then?" Maybe-soon-to-be-Dr. Montgomery asks her.
"If I tell you that I'm never going to sleep with you ever," Meredith deadpans.
"Never mind then," says the very attractive not-quite-a-doctor.
"That's what I thought," says Meredith with a sly grin.
"Do you wanna get out of here then or what, or I don't know?" Says Meredith's new hookup already secured for the night.
"I don't know. You say that librarians yell when people sleep on the tables. Do they care what they do in the pravate study rooms?" Meredith says evily.
"WE'RE NOT GOING TO DO IT IN A STUDY ROOM!?" Says the woman with a look of shock, alarm, and also interest (that she's trying rather unsuccessfully to hide from this stranger).
Meredith raises one eyebrow up and down with a glint in her eye as she moves for the first time since meeting Miss Montgomery as she leans into her ear to whisper:
"Shh. You can't be yelling here about shit like that. We're in a library you know…" Before pulling away before the woman can react or reply.
"B-but-?" The lady Montgomery stutters and tries to regain her composure but she's all but lost this whole battle and war.
"It's okay. If you don't wanna screw in public I get that. You can just take me home with you if it would help you sleep better at night," Meredith snarks as she shrugs her shoulders.
A billion emotions play across Montgomery's face as she studies Meredith's proposition and self-invitation in her mind over and over again in ten seconds.
"Are you ever going to tell me what your name is?" Asks the biology college TA, not from Hanover.
"As I said, not if you wanna be fucking me," says Meredith easily.
"Fine. But I'm calling you 'Gray,' because that's what your textbook says," says Montgomery.
Meredith laughs internally at the obvious irony of this person calling her by a homonym of her own name unknowingly but she doesn't show it so she doesn't give that away. Instead, she just turns up her Meredith-charm and dials it up to the maximum. She knows she's getting laid tonight. And she wants this girl to know that as well (not that she doesn't, but she wants to insist on it. Meredith likes to be persistent).
"You can call me whatever you want while you're screaming it out from the rooftops," says Meredith with a smug expression that the woman can't place right now.
"We're not doing it on my roof, either, I have neighbors," the lady deadpans.
"Oh, they're going to hear you scream out either way," says Meredith who is surprisingly confident at 21 about her abilities (being promiscuous can do that, she guesses).
"I am going to regret this in the morning?" The woman starts to state but then her voice perks upwards in a question.
"Not as much as you'll regret not doing this. I have a reputation around here. You're not my only option Montgomery. So take or leave it. Or leave me to my nap," Meredith says tauntingly.
Addison Montgomery considers her options for a moment, and then she finally smiles and places her hand on this so-far-nameless woman's shoulder. "I'm driving. We're leaving. Pack up all this stuff," she says as she licks her lips once more and swallows hard. She knows she's destined to do great things in her lifetime.
And this pretty blonde woman is most definitely one of them. Or at least, Addison will go to the grave convincing herself that. She doesn't want to have any regrets about her time on this brief inter-university exchange. Besides, it's Bizzy and The Captain's money anyway.
And now, with this probably wonderful girl, she's going to beat her brother, Archer, for who's gotten the greatest lay in an instant.
This was the alternate summary, but it has spoilers. So I'm showing it last.
In which Meredith Grey is still in undergrad, and Addison Montgomery is not her TA- but she is a Dartmouth University visiting college TA (because she's smart). And of course, Meredith Grey totally likes that- the TA part- (a whole lot!). OR: They already met in Hanover, before Derek, and before Mark.
