All the Olivia Rodrigo plagiarism is a mess but I'm so sick of swiffers acting like she just suddenly got credit out of the blue. She has full control over her team and who they go after. Whether it's fully suing, or sending cease and desist threats (like the jet tracker, the journalist who called her lowercase kkk, Etsy merch sellers) it's all her doing. People have been saying for years that she's had so many legal battles she's basically a lawyer now. Even if she has no legal grounds she knows that at this point, she's so big and powerful, that just the threat of being sued into bankruptcy is enough to get people to back down.
Exactly,
That other Anon wanted to say that Swift just got swept up in the legal dispute because of Farro. It's just unbelievable.
She's a grown woman and the face of a billion-dollar company. She's been in legal disputes so much in the last decade that I'm almost shocked. She knows what is going on. I just don't believe for a second that she had no ability to pull back, and say "never mind" or "no."
Anyway, I'm tired of her bullying people to get them to back down. She's done this so much that I just expect it at this point.

Hey there!
I wanted to ask, where did you buy your persona Inuis? I've been looking for weeks and most places are sold out?
I'd really appreciate your help 😭💙
hi anon! thank you for reaching out to me!
regarding the nuis, i pre-ordered them from the atlus shop and sent the relevant links to japan shopping service (https://jpshopping.jp/). however, i'm not entirely sure if they still have any in stock which takes me to my next point...
since the nuis have already been released, you'll likely need to buy them through third-party sources/resale for aftermarket price. there's two things that come to mind:
mercari: a keyword search of "persona plush" should get you multiple listings of the nuis, as well as other persona-related plushes. you can also choose to look through the tags #atlus, #persona3 (replace 3 with the game of your choice) and find merch that way. make sure to read reviews of the seller before buying and check the product photos + description! ^-^
other JP proxies: there is a REALLY nice guide from aikotos that i reblogged some time ago, if you wanted to buy from JP sites. i think using keyword searches like "ペルソナ3ぬい" for persona 3 nui) should help! hell, if you wanted to buy the fabled pitanuis, you might be able to find them here too.
while i don't have personal experience buying from these sites, i have friends who can vouch for these... mercari especially ^-^ ! hopefully these anecdotes can help you.
in any case, i wish you the best with getting your own nui! they're absolutely 100% worth purchasing methinks i mean just look at my nui tag...! if you need any additional help feel free to send me an ask and i'll try to get back to you when i can. happy nuimas!

BPP, I'm not one to cry over the hate the boys get because I truly believe they are resilient as hell and I try to curate my space as much as possible so that I'm not subjected to it. Im so bummed though about Hobi's JITB hope edition dedication and how he was concerned that his and armys relationship wouldn't be able to get past him not releasing a physical. Im disappointed that solo narratives were able to infiltrate army spaces and convince the boys to change their mind about something. Im really sending all the love and good energy to Hobi and all the members today and I sincerely hope this wont occur again in the future. Thanks for letting me use this space to vent a little
*
Ask 2:
i'm honestly a bit confused about this hobi thanks to letter bpp. i went back to your post where you talked about jitb and you were right that this was his decision, but were people wrong to ask for a physical album?
*
Ask 3:
People on Twitter keep whining about how ppl complaining about jitb album format made Hobi feel bad and I of course feel bad he was disappointed with the feedback but it's such a mind numbingly stupid thing to be mad about he's a professional musician. It's part of his job fans dont have to like everything all the time sometimes people aren't gonna like a song or even an album or the photoshoots or artist merch or styling or if you choose to release your album as a piece of colorful cardboard with no cd and everyone just has to cope with it. Hobi is a first day million seller and we got live versions of some songs now people need to take the w and be happy and everyone who wanted a physical physical better be over the fucking moon
***
Hi Anon(s),
Anon in ask 2, since you're the only person actually asking me a question (lol), I'll work with your ask.
"were people wrong to ask for a physical album?"
Let's look at it this way. If Hobi released a song you didn't like, would it be wrong for you to say you didn't like the song, and mention instead the genre of music you'd like him to do instead?
The answer to that, is no. Obviously. As I've been saying, I think it's perfectly fine for you to not like something BTS /Hobi does, the music they make, choices you disagree with, etc, and it's not like there's a gag order in the fandom so of course you can say so and leave that feedback for the artist because they monitor fan chatter. You'd be right to do this, and it works both ways for positive and negative feedback.
Now, would you still be right if you:
Defaulted to asserting that Hoseok had no agency and that the choice of the song (or no physical albums) was forced on him by the company
Trended hashtags with your demands on him, asserting that he was a pawn the company was using and sabotaging to prop up maknae-line members
Threatened to boycott and actually boycotted his album
Review-bombed Weverse album app, Weverse shop app, and Weverse app
Reported and took down ARMY playlists for JITB that included other members' songs
Threatened to send trucks stating your demands for a physical album (or to continue the example from above, a song genre you prefer)
Became abusive to other members in the group, asserting that they are complicit in Hobi's 'mistreatment'
Took your frustration out on other members, disparaging them and their solo debuts
Threatened the other members, Bang PD, and PDogg with physical harm
Continued this barrage for months on end
Etc...
Would you be right to do this?
The answer to this, too, is no. Obviously.
Hobi akgaes who didn't get a physical album did all of the above for their 'feedback' because of what fundamentally motivates them.
The thing about akgaes is that at the crux of it, they don't actually think highly of the person they stan. Especially in the case of BTS solo stans. If you listen to akgaes talk about their 'fave' members... pick any member: Hobi, Jimin, Taehyung, etc, they all think said member is "too kind", "too humble", "too helpless" etc, to assert themselves to receive things they actually want for their careers within reason. Akgaes in general don't actually think the artists have any real say over their career direction.
They ultimately consider that artist a puppet who is supposed to bend or acquiesce to meet any demand made of them, and so when they see outcomes they don't like, the thought that it could be a choice the artist agreed to (talk less of it possibly being the artist's idea) is completely foreign to them. The only thought in an akgae's mind when they see outcomes they don't like is how to switch out who is controlling the puppet, how to force an outcome on and for the artist, an outcome that the akgae thinks is best for the artist's career in their own imagination.
They're delusional enough to believe that with their limited information of the artist's plans, resources, and limitations, that whatever they envision as goals for that artist aligns precisely with what that artist desires. They never really frame these demands as things they'd personally like or want, but as something that the artist secretly wants or outrightly deserves which the company maliciously withholds for *insert your favourite conspiracy theory here* reasons, that necessitates the akgae intervening.
So, where (some) ARMYs could look at the JITB rollout situation and think Hobi was likely involved in that outcome, even if we didn't like the outcome; where (some) ARMYs could see how even if Jimin didn't get all the MVs due to limitations unknown to us, that Jimin still has agency to effect any changes he wants in his career; where ARMYs could see how all these imperfect outcomes are still possible even while the members retain their agency.... akgaes instead default to catastrophizing any outcome they disagree with, and actively work to remove/change who controls manages the puppet artist to give them the outcomes they think is best for the artist.
As with everything else in fandom, the devil is in the details and it's unhelpful to talk in very general terms about fandom dynamics sometimes because we all know different factions could say similar things but have very different motivations. And that a lot of 'fans' are actually a bit insane. I mean, I know many of my followers are newer fans but you all should have seen by now that something like 90% of what happens in fandom is fans of various kinds criticizing things of all sorts, and that what counts as 'criticism' here covers a very wide spectrum, from abuse and slander to frankly insane irl/physical attempts and threats to change/control the artist.
Of course, ARMYs in true fandom fashion try to correct for this impulse by overcompensating, either due to
Their own guilt in joining in with mantis and akgaes at the time, or
Performative bullshit to make up for being hypocritical or to virtue signal over other ARMYs, or
As a natural consequence of how information is communicated in social systems, or
Some other reasons I can't think of at the moment.
Now the refrain from some ARMYs is that voicing any dissatisfaction with anything whatsoever is wrong. But at this point, after everything I've written above, I hope it's clear that I think fans can, should, and do express when they like and dislike certain choices, if they like. The difference between a fan and any other faction though, is that fans actually respect the artist, and recognize that even with the music industry as shady as it is, even if outcomes aren't always perfect or there are outcomes fans disagree with for the artist, that the artist is the person who ultimately knows what's best for them and has the tools to effect any needed changes. Especially in the case of BTS. BTS knows what's best for BTS and they have the ability to choose and work within their teams and the industry to effect any real changes or outcomes they want for the management of their careers. BTS does. Not Sally from Ohio, nor Jiwon from Jeonju.
In my opinion, at least.

hi rbs! i was wondering if you have any merch of gg and/or dd and if so, where you ordered them from? 💛
Hi Anon! 💛.
I have a few GGDD related items. I have a copy of The Untamed official photo book, which I got a few years ago. I can't remember where I bought it from. I also have DD's stunning Bazaar photo issue, which I bought from a reputable seller on ebay.
I also have a bunch of GGDD stickers, decals, and postcards (some from The Untamed, some from other popular turtle photos), and a small poster of DD on a motorcycle, all which my sister gave me a while back. I don't know where she got them.
I'm definitely not the person to ask about merch. I don't tend to buy much, and I don't know any of the good places to buy it. However, this topic comes up from time to time, so hopefully people will show up in the comments with suggestions.

Would it be ok to apply for the angel campaign as someone who’s not a merch seller or exclusively draws angels?
I'm open to considering any artist, anyone can apply.
But if you want to be featured on the campaign page I am specifically looking for artists who would fit the theme of the campaign, which is Pride angels (so, artists who make Pride and angel art). And ideally you would be open to taking commissions or selling merch of that art.
My goal with sharing other artists with the Pride Angels backers is twofold:
Share their work and expand their audience in the spirit of community.
If a backer doesn't like my art or feels they aren't represented by it, they can check out other creators for more options.
If you want to join the Discord server, I would be looking for those who are interested in making merch and have done at least a little bit of angel art. There's already a lot of servers for sharing your art; and a lot of servers for making merch. So I want mine to be more specific. It would also be to bring together an angel-merch making community to facilitate future collaborations among the members.
I hope that makes sense and if you are still interested Anon, feel free to apply :))

Hello, I thought you would like to know that someone is selling PDFs of your fanfic on Etsy. Their shop name is azraelmorningstar, it will not let me link the posting but it is under "Remain Nameless by HeyJude19 - PDF DIGITAL VERSION" I hope you can find it.
Thank you anon. I've messaged them asking to remove it. This shit is really fucking disheartening so i am begging fic readers to please not purchase pdfs or fic merch and to politely ask these sellers to stop if you come across it.

Engagement is down//
His last post anywhere got 2.3m likes which was more than most of his LOT posts from 2023. I don't know how else to measure engagement as he isn't on twitter or tiktok.
Some asks about Harry, engagement and fandom's reaction to his silence on genocide under the cut.
Hi, anons!
Engagement can be measured in many ways. Likes on posts is one thing. Likes are usually up when he hasn't posted for a while. When he does it consistently and often it's down to a medium level. I usually think of several different ways to measure engagement. Clicks on tabloid articles about him (how interested and invested are people in him?), google search results (how many are googling him), name drop results (how many are talking about harry styles across all media platforms), how many streams are his albums getting (is it up or down?), how much merch does he sell, when he does something is he trending on social media? etc.
I don't have the numbers for all this, but i feel like people are pretty apathetic about his current stunt, people aren’t reblogging or retweeting pictures of them or even hating on them (that would still be engagement). He's been off for a while so that might explain things, but i thought his football match appearance didn’t engage people like i would expect it to. Maybe i'm wrong.
Hi Marte. Considering online outrage doesn't necessarily transfer to the real world. Like there is endless online discourse about JKR but the HP game was one of the best selling games of 2023 despite petitions to cancel it and negative review brigading. It made over a billion on PC alone. A book she released some time ago went straight to number 1 best sellers list. The majority of people are still buying her products. They're making a HP tv series and she's part of it and I wouldn't be surprised if it does well. There is a lot of excitement about it. I guess you could say the same with TSwift. There is nothing but hate for her online and she's still the best selling artist worldwide. So I'm just wondering. Do you think this will be a similar situation with Harry where if he is cancelled online it won't make a difference to his career or do you think he won't hold up as well as the others? I guess it depends on how good his next album is. If his album is really good then people will buy it. I can see him getting a lot of online backlash if he goes back to queer coding when he releases his music.
Yeah, and that's why i wrote that we'll have to see how this impacts him. I don't think a major celebrity will be cancelled in a flash, and they'll go from everything to nothing. It all depends on what the "crime" is too. The HP game did well, but did it do as well as it could have done if JKR wasn't cancelled? Also she's a te*f, i don't think many people in the gp even know what that is. Many also unfortunatly agree with her. So the "crime" isn't percieved to be that severe in the gp's eyes. I think Lizzo is a better example. She's internet cancelled before she's even convicted of anything. She might bounce back (doubt it), but i don't think she'll do as well as previously. Harry is accused of being a zion*st and supporting genocide. I think that's a worse "crime" among the gp and his target audience than the crimes of jkr and lizzo.
I think it all depends on a lot of things. How the situation in Gaza develops, how many other fuck ups H does, how much he stunts, how much he "queerbaits", how good his album is and how he choose to promote it. Despite people not being happy with him for different reasons right now, i don't think it will impact him much. We'll have to see. I'm pretty sure that no matter how he does, he could have done even better if he fixed his zionis* reputation and the queerbaiter reputation.
He'd probably lose all his wealthy American fans if he spoke out against Israel so he's not doing to do it. Not everyone supports Palestine. Tumblr gives a false impression because 70% of users are under 21 (according to tumblr polls).
I'm not saying he needs to speak out against Isr*el. Or support Palestine. I'm saying he should demand a ceasefire and state he doesn’t support genocide. That's saying murder is bad, and that both parties needs to lay down their weapons. It's a pretty neutral and basic statement.
Not everyone supports Palestine, that's true, but most people are against genocide and want a ceasefire. Regardless of that, H's target audience are millenials and gen z, where most people want a ceasefire and to stop genocide from happening. If he loses some zio*ist fans then so be it, he's already lost a million for not speaking up. I can't imagine there being that many zion*sts among his millenial and gen z fans. It's not the fans that's the reason he's not speaking up, it's his label, management and friends and the brand deals he has.
If engagement is down its because his own fans are constantly hating on him and trying to cancel him. So where are fans who don't see things in black and white and are ready to write him off supposed to engage in harry fandom content?
Jeez, anon. Idk, i think a genocide is pretty black and white, it's murder. Either you are for or against. Most people think murder is bad in all circumstances. I think stopping genocide is a bit more important than you getting your harry content...

Why did you private Strange Days and your other fics on A03?
Hi Anon,
I forgot to make a post here but life got away from me.
I set my entire AO3 private due AI bots scraping AO3 and AO3’s troubling stance on allowing AI fic to be posted to the archive.
I am vehemently anti-AI, especially AI which seeks to aid the pursuit of making creatives absent from the act of creating, rather than being in aid of the creative. Rn AI is incredibly unregulated and stands to do more harm than good in creative sectors, and will be incredibly harmful in spreading misinformation by bad faith actors.
I know AO3 is doing its best to prevent further scraping but I do not like that they are permitting AI fic to be hosted. All AI work is plagiarism- it’s not derivative/culture jamming/remixing. Because in derivative works the reader is made aware of the source material/derivative works are predicated on the viewer understanding/having knowledge of the original source so that the resulting derivative work makes sense. AI doesn’t do that, it’s a text generator made up of millions of words crafted by others, stolen without their consent. It’s plagiarism through and through.
I have seen people get banned from AO3 for even a the slightest whiff of plagiarism. Their moderators and content team are great to work with as you actually are dealing with a human in investigating the plagiarism case. Rather than like lets say YT that just uses bots to do their content strike downs often getting ppl who are using copywrite content correctly under creative commons/fair use guidelines. Cases are thoroughly explored on a case by case basis to make sure that works are being protected from plagiarism.
So it’s disheartening to see AO3, allow AI stories to be hosted- AI are not fans, they are not people. The people behind them aren’t creating fan or original works on their own merit, not spending time working on the craft to create. They’re just mashing prompts to scrape from others to generate something they think they can quickly sell. Which brings me to another point- ao3 is opening itself to getting sued by corporations who are anti fanworks. Ao3 has been able to hold them off because the understanding is that on AO3, creators are not profiting from their fanworks
(linking to patreons, ko-fis, does not count as AO3 is not the one getting a cut of money from creators hosting their fic, so companies cant sue AO3, they’ll have to go after individuals, and rn it’s hard to go after creators as they’re likely not making a lot of money on volume compared to merch sellers on etsy, etc.)
So to protect my stories in the meantime I’ve locked my stories to users only and hidden my stories from search engines.
It hurts me to make my stories difficult for people to find and enjoy, but this is the only way right now to protect my stories from getting scraped. I like hearing from people either new to fandoms discovering my fics or long time readers returning to them, and by locking them I am aware that I am potentially risking my fics’ reach within fandom, but I am an old school fanfic writer, I don’t do this for clout or fandom attention. I write because a part of my heart was touched by a series and I want to engage with the series by essentially playing dolls with the characters to act out the scenarios I’ve come up with. If someone comes along and reads it, and comments on it, I am so very happy and fed.
I appreciate you, my readers, for all of your support all of these years. I am sorry to throw a barrier in front of you to access my stories, but I do want to protect the stories I’ve spent years on.
Even though the series aren’t mine and I don’t profit from them, these fics represent thousands of hours of brainstorming, screaming about them with my betas, they’re creative outlets written to help me survive my worst days and to grow as an artists. My efforts and my creativity are worth protecting, and so I will take whatever steps possible to do so.
Thanks for reaching out, Anon. And I hope you understand. Be well.

have you bought any utena merch (offical or not) yourself? what do you recommend 👀
Hiya Anon! Yeah, I got a few fanmerch myself, not a lot though which is part of the reason why i started this blog haha
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's this beautiful print by Laweyd, plus these charms from ICIAAAStore, I definitely recommend both! The charms are also available as enamel pins, but I got the keychains because the designs are more elaborate, and they were on sale then. ICIAAAStore may be making Adolescence designs of Utena and Anthy too, which I'm keeping an eye out for.
I might also be getting these gorgeous Nüwa pins from some server pals! Maybe they'll be back in stock one day, but otherwise they're only available through third party markets and sellers now
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also have some official merch (rip my wallet), mostly books because I'm a sucker for production art
Tumblr media
Clockwise from the top left:
*The Hardcore of Utena: Animation Side - selection of anime, movie production art and scans of cells. Really, really nice print quality
*Art of Utena - interviews and anime production art, illustration sketches
Adolescence of Utena manga
Revolutionary Girl Utena manga vol 1-5
After the Revolution manga
*Adolescence of Utena Newtype Illustrated Collection book - some movie production sketches, more interviews, movie analysis/summary with movie screen caps, screenplay
*all text in Japanese, which I can't read
If you're interested in anime production art, I'd recommend the Hardcore Animation Side, or The Art of Utena. The latter's image quality is ok, and has more stuff to read, but most images are smaller. There's some overlap in content between all 3 art books, especially certain art from the movie, but they're different enough from each other imo
There is also The Hardcore of Utena Illustration Side book, which I don't have, which has all the finished marketing illustrations for the anime, if you're looking for those instead!
If you don't mind seeing everything digitally though, pretty much all the art here, minus the manga, are available for free on ohtori.nu
Tumblr media
And I have the complete bluray of course, I needed it in my hands (the ribbon is for making sure the individual cases don't slip it off the box).
