Can you tell how feral I am for this man? I thought I'd do a few art pieces featuring my mercenary!ainur au and decided to start with this. We could all use a mean manwë <3

The thing in his hand is a sharp knife thing that idk the name of, I just was inspired by yor from spy x family

Very different from my usual style but I wanted to put a lot of effort into this so hehe I'm so happy with the result ~ who should I do next? 👀

· ⊰ synopsis. manwë deals with his bastard of a brother whilst they try to pick a new colour scheme for their syndicate. he quickly remembers that there is no one who can drive him up the wall more than melkor ( dark themes ៸៸ blood mention ៸៸ corpse ៸៸ strong language )

· ⊰ note. idk but I've just been feeling them lately. their dynamic in this au is one of my favourites

♡. — 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒂 𝒅𝒂𝒎𝒏 𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒓

"Hmm."

Pale violet sweeps over the newly decorated wall. His cruxed index finger pressed against his lips and his thumb stroking beneath his chin for added effect.

"Not sure. Don't think I quite like the shade of red."

A click of tongue sounds through the office.

"You complain too much." Manwë rolls his eyes to the ceiling and flexes his hand against the wall. "What's wrong with it? You didn't like blue, you don't like red, what exactly do you like then?"

"Maybe black?" Melkor offers, running a thumb along the wall. As though feeling the new colour was possible.

"Vilisse is black." Drips Manwë's obviously exasperated tone as he arches his brow. "I thought Vilisse was green?" Melkor counters to which his brother sighs and shakes his head so that white locks bounce around him.

"Are we gonna settle on a colour or are you just going to paint fucking rainbows all over the syndicate?"

"That a challenge?" Melkor meets his sibling's irritated expression with a grin and a quirk of his brow. "I quite think your desk will look splendid in hot pink." He motions to the aforementioned wood to which Manwë tightens his fingers once more.

"That's Italian Maple you dick."

"Oooo fancy." Shrugs the older as he flicks his finger and sends a droplet of crimson onto the revered Italian Maple desk. "As if you couldn't just import a new one, Tweetie. Don't be such a scrooge."

Manwë inhales, reminding himself that his brother is right and refraining from slamming his head into the desk he had just stained. Instead, he fights back the urge to roll his eyes once more at the childhood nickname. It was hard to believe who was the true older of the two.

"The task is still at hand. What colour are we transitioning to? Lest you want to keep the old man's design?"

Melkor groans and hangs his head back after stuffing his hands into his pockets. "Decisions, decisions. . . How about purple? Maybe blue?"

"I thought you said no to blue?"

"Well I change my mind."

"For fucks sa —"

"You know what? I actually quite like the red."

With that last sentence from his brother, Manwë finally relaxes his fingers from the head of hair he was flushing against the wall. A loud thud echoes through his office and he nonchalantly steps past the body laying on his rich wooden floors. The crimson stains drip from the wall and soak into the ground as Melkor admires the 'shade of red'.

"Hey now," the older chuckles as Manwë's shoulder knocks with his as he makes a beeline for the door. "No need to throw a tantrum." He muses, spinning around to face the other's back. "All that blood's gonna get on your precious Italian Maple y'know!"

"Clean it up then." Manwë mutters, retrieving his handkerchief to clean his fingers from the sorry soul whose blood became a paint sample. "And come find me when you're done playing these fucking games."

He receives only a mocking croon before Melkor thinks to himself. Just before his brother leaves the doorway he calls out, stopping him dead in his tracks.

"You know, I think gold would do the trick. What do ya say?"

A moment of silence fills the office before Manwë glances over his shoulder with a curl on his lips. "Gold for glory. I like it." And with that, he steps out, yet not before calling back.

"I'm serious about that blood. Clean it up, lest I overload your flask with gasoline."

"Bastard."

"Dick."

Thank you! I’ve never written anything this OC-centric this long before (and lbr, even the most established Silm characters are like 50% original in fic), so every compliment is very blush-inducing. You like my original blorbos! My ORIGINAL blorbos! Mine! Wow! (Does that mean you’d like even more original blorbos in more original circumstances?!…)

Though man, I am SUFFERING the tragedy that the only way get more Original Blorbo content is…to write it myself… I like Celechwes so much; she’s so selfish but in a Discworld witch way, wherein she WOULD face Morgoth with a frying pan and tell him to get the fuck off HER lawn, if she had any reason to believe it would work. She basically thinks of the Noldor as mercenaries with good timing. Of the Ainur, she always refers to Ulmo with the title “Lord”, as well as “Lord Ossë” and “Lady Uinen”, for they have ever been good to her people, and Melian she always speaks of with respect, and all other Valar or Maiar are on a first-name basis bc what does she know or really care of them? The Great Eagles, she respects and considers her friends because they soar magnificently and race her for mutual fun. There’s definitely at least one younger Eagle who thinks of her as a weird little sister.

I think Manwë likes her just for that, because he likes when his people (the Eagles) are happy and in general he likes when people are unusual friends. But I like to think of Manwë being kinda fated to be fond of the House of Fingolfin so I’ve been toying with the thought that, as part of his domain of the sky, and in mirror to Melkor the Constrainer, Manwë is also Vala of…Freedom, essentially. That perhaps the reason he was put in charge is that his part in the Great Song includes, or at least comes closest to, the very concept of Free Will—a good thing for a King of All of be ever-conscious and -caring of! But also a thing that makes ruling no easier, because so many people’s wills (and benefits) are so often in opposition to one another with no evil marring at the root of the divide at all. The world, the Song, is just complex. …But the point is that Manwë likes Celechwes because she is, yes, narratively, the Spirit of Free Beleriand the way Spirit the horse (in the eponymous movie) is the Spirit of the Untamed West. Because the origin of her character was the questions, who would both Fingon and Maedhros fall in love with, and who would fall in love with both of them? Who would bring them together, and why/how, when they never have before? And who is it thematically right to be Gil-galad’s mother? And the answer to all is, the best parts of Exile and life across the Sea: the things with protecting there and the true honor in doing so, the freedom from past feuds and the chance to start anew, also a dash of feralness and unending defiance. So that, as best I can do, is Celechwes.

She and Maedhros each think they’re “the sensible one” in this relationship but of course all three of them are unhinged and it is NOT that Fingon is the only one who knows it, Fingon is just the only one who acknowledges that he himself is not the sensible one. He thinks it’s Maedhros, though he concedes that the bar is low. Maedhros and Fingon both default to Quenya when impassioned and Celechwes thinks it’s sweet, so essentially the three of them speak Sindarin most of the time and Quenya as a sex thing, or while tenderly cuddling afterward.

There’s about 90% of 1 more chapter of raw fluff, and then Everything Goes Wrong 😃🔥🐉 😭. But then there will be three more chapters after that, with a final chapter summary of, “In which there is a Celechwes loose in Aman. That’s never happened before. No one knows what she’s going to do next, least of all Celechwes!”

the frightening reality is that this syndicate leader upholds a gentle smile on his face throughout all. even when he's pressing the barrel of a gun to his target's head. he handles majority of the business aspects around the syndicate, however, when out on the field he is at the same level of cunning that he is as a businessman. while he prefers not to create a mess and is precise with his missions, that doesn’t make him any less cruel. he leans more towards his vala abilities yet is not above using his favourite pistol or methods of poison

the far more reckless syndicate leader between him and his brother. he tends to go on some sort of bloodlust high when out of the field — so one can only imagine what a kick he gets out of being assigned the more challenging subjects. ruthless and cocky, he has no issue with turning things messy and if anything it's his main goal. if he's not having fun then, what's the point? he's rather versatile with his weapon's arsenal but does have a certain love for his dagger collection. one can only imagine why.

beyond loyal to his syndicate and a second-in-command, he is considered to be one of alcarin's most skillful merc. he prefers to complete a mission with optimum performance and thus does not enjoy playing around with his target as much as the others do. with that being said, his sadism does come out to play at times and he can be rather ruthless if pushed enough. he is exceptionally flexible with his weapon's arsenal and is often the one to train the recruits / other mercenaries

.°୭̥ ✿ˎˊ˗ mairon. 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍

his mind is his greatest weapon. a second-in-command of the syndicate, he carries out the role with his striking intelligence and cunning nature. while he does prefer being precise, his sadistic nature prompts him to sometimes be quite erratic or even a tad bit reckless. he is a cunning man who loves playing around with his target and fooling them. he alternates between tech support and field work. he quite prefers to rely on his powers but will also pull out an array of knives or dual pistols

a syndicate leader who takes great pride in being in control of a situation, his codename: 'ghost' comes not only from his weapon of choice but the fact that his targets never see a damn thing coming. and like any ghost, he haunts. playing on one's fears. he is a strict man who demands utmost respect and loyalty from his subordinates. while he handles the business aspect of his syndicate, his fieldwork is some of his speciality and partially where he gains his name from. he is an exceptional sniper by nature and prefers to finish the mission. however, he can alternate from sharpshooters to various other guns

feigned innocence and benevolence is this syndicate leader's go-to. he absolutely adores playing around with his enemies and ensuing mind games with them. he keeps up a mask of innocent glee when in reality his sadism is near-unmatched. cunning and full of tricks, he takes pride making fools out of those who oppose him. while he enjoys more passive fieldwork, such as poisoning, he also relies on his vala abilities and more often than not — his favourite white kunai knives. his aim is deadly and his smile even deadlier.
